JUDGEMENT: BELIEVER VS UNBELIEVER

Minister Lisa Kane

August 28, 2024

In this teaching, Lisa Kaine opens with Revelation 20:15, emphasizing the eternal consequences for those whose names are not written in the Book of Life. She explains the concept of judgment after death, distinguishing between the believer’s judgment at the Bema Seat of Christ and the unbeliever’s judgment at the Great White Throne.

Drawing from Hebrews 9:27–28, she addresses the apparent contradiction of individuals like Enoch and Elijah who never died, connecting them to prophetic roles in Revelation as potential witnesses. The teaching explores how rapture, though instantaneous, can also be understood as a form of death, aligning with Paul’s declaration that all are appointed to die once.

For believers, judgment is not about salvation but about works—the quality of their lives tested by fire (1 Corinthians 3). Precious works will endure as jewels and rewards, while empty deeds will be burned away. Believers are urged to live as God’s temple, maintaining a true relationship with Him rather than settling for superficial devotion.

In contrast, unbelievers will face the Great White Throne judgment (Revelation 20:11–15). Their names not found in the Book of Life will result in condemnation and eternal separation from God in the lake of fire. Even those who considered Jesus merely a prophet or lived by “good works” apart from faith will be judged according to what was engraved in the books.

The message closes with a call to salvation through Jesus Christ, affirming His atoning work on the cross and offering the sinner’s prayer as a step toward eternal life. The overarching theme is God’s mercy and grace, urging listeners to secure their eternal future by faith in Christ and by living in obedience and service to Him.

Objective:

The objective of this teaching is to explain the biblical doctrine of judgment, contrasting how believers and unbelievers will be judged by God according to Scripture. The message seeks to clarify misunderstandings regarding death, the rapture, and the final judgment, while encouraging believers to cultivate a true relationship with Christ and invest in their eternal future through faith and works.

Hello and welcome to the House of Faith Ministries. I'm Lisa Kaine. I'm recording this message on Wednesday, August 28th, 2024. Welcome. Let's open up in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word, and we bless your word. We pray that your word does not return void and that we hear your word, apply your word and that you just move aside any um any offense to this word or any issues that is keeping us from applying this word and living it the way that you showed us in scripture. How to apply it, how to live it, how to know where we're going to go in our eternity, how we're going to be judged. And I thank you for the knowledge and your word that you've given us for this. We can look at our future. We can invest in our future. Thank you in the name of Jesus. Amen. Amen. God bless you. Welcome. Glad you are here. Let's go to our opening scripture. The title of this message is called judgment, believer versus unbeliever. Our opening scripture will be found in Revelation 20:15. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Now, as a reminder, when I teach, and I put the scripture up on the screen here, the bolded words are the original words the King James translators used when they translated into English back in the I think as early as 1400s. Then the words in parentheses are not in scripture, but they are in the Hebrews Greek Strong dictionary as other words this word could have meant. So, I add those extra words in there for us to see a bigger, deeper picture of what the translators were working with. It really kind of opens up the scriptures. Take a look at it again. And whosoever was not written or engraved. I love it. It now the king um strong says engraved, but it means engraving. It's an engraving u like a uh you engrave glass and it's kind of permanent. See how when you look at a different meaning of it, it gives you a better understanding of that scripture. Engraved in the book of life was cast or thrown into the lake of fire. You ever see those TVs where they're kicking the guy out and they just throw him out the door? Well, that's the visual that we get from that. So, judgment um judgment has a to do with after death. Once you die, you will be judged. And that's what I'm going to be talking about today. The purpose of this teaching is to show you how you will be judged by God as a believer or judged by God as an unbeliever. And so we're going to see the difference of the two. And I'm going to take an interesting different appro approach to this because we're dealing with death once after you die. And a lot of people have issues because when you have the scriptures telling you about um after death and then there's certain people that didn't die, they have issues. So, I want to reveal a mystery that I have already taught on before, but I'm going to add it on to this teaching because I think it's very applicable and I'm hoping to diffuse um this false teaching of, you know, um especially a concept about the rapture stuff. So, I really want to deal with that. So, let's go to Hebrews. Hebrews 9 27 and 28. And as it is appointed or to be reserved, you're waiting unto men once to die. They see as you live your life, you're waiting to die because eventually you're going to die. Everybody has to die. Watch this. But after this, the judgment, which that word judgment there means tribunal, accusation, condemnation, damnation. You're you're dealing with the accusations. You're being judged. And that's what that word judgment means. Verse 28. So Christ anointed once was once offered to bear or to take up the sins of many. And unto them that look for him shall he appear the second or again time without sin unto salvation. The word salvation there is rescue safety deliver health. Now let's go back to the beginning in verse 27. And as it is appointed unto men wants to die. Paul makes a very bold statement understanding that he is very well taught in the Torah. He had spent three years in the wilderness researching, spending time with God, in order to understand grace for the um Gentiles, you and I, non-Jewish people. And so God gave him that ministry to establish the New Testament in general. So that's what Paul had done. So for him to say, "For all men are appointed to die once," he had to have known Enoch never died. Elijah never died. they, you know, let's go look at everyone who has who hasn't died because I think that's very important. Now, I'm not going to mention MelkiseDC as one of these. He has no beginning, he has no end. So, some people think, well, there's a person who never died. Well, since he has no beginning, he has no end. He actually represents God. There is and and God is infinity. He's always been there and he will always be there. So you cannot apply Melkisedc as to well he never died because he was never born either. So you have to look at it from that perspective. Okay. So but there are four people who have never died that are written in the scripture. Some of you probably thought I was going to say two. Let's go through all four of them. We have Enoch. You can go to Genesis 5:24. We have Elijah. You can go look at 2 Kings 2:11. You have Dayan and Abberam. And they're in number 1633. So now because Paul is clearly saying that everyone's appointed to die once if these men had never died then what? Very interesting right? This is why I wanted to come in at this approach to deal with judgment. So now Enoch and Elijah are two people who never died. Now there are two witnesses that are not named. We don't know who they are, but they're mentioned in Revelation, and they come and appear at the beginning of the seven-year time period of God's wrath. They are there with 144,000. They're calling fire down from heaven, plagues on the men. They're killing people who attack them. They will die after three and a half years, and their bodies will lay in um the ground for three and a half days. You can go see that in Revelation. So, all right. Is it possible that Enoch and Elijah could be those two? Some say it's Moses. But remember, Jude talks about an argument or a dispute, not an argument, a dispute between Michael the Archangel and the devil over the body of Moses. Well, that means Moses died because it's his body that they're dealing with. So, we are definitely seeing um something interesting. So those two witnesses, if you want to go find find out about them dying, they're in Revelation 11:9 in essence fulfilling Hebrews 9:27. Now remember, there's two others, Dayan and Abber. Now you can go find them in number 16. And there's something very interesting about this. Moses is is so what Nate Nathan and Abarim are doing. They're calling out Moses for being the leader. They want to be the leader. They they're like, "You're not being the leader." So Moses says, "Come up here. We're going to talk about it before God." They said, "No, they actually rebelled against." So Moses and everybody else in the camp went to their tent, um Nathan and Abraham's tent, and Moses says, "Well, if I do something uh different here, or if God does something different here, like kill them but not kill them in a way." In other words, um they don't die of what's the norm to die, then um I'm for God and I am here because of God. So that's exactly what happened. The earth swallowed up. Day and Abraham, them and their family were taken to the pit alive.

Now we have what's called the prophet and the beast. You can go see them in Revelation 16 and 17. Now I want you to notice something. They're cast alive into the lake of fire. Revelation 19:20. But I thought everyone needed to die. When you die, you are judged by fire. So, we're going to see that Dayan and Abberam were judged already by fire by being swallowed up by the pit. So, they were already judged. And in because they were already judged, they were thrown into the lake of fire alive. Thus fulfilling what Paul said that all men are appointed to die at least once. But then what about the rapture? Rapture, is that a death? You'll find content about the rapture in 1 Thessalonians 4:17. It says those that are alive are going to c be caught up to meet the Lord in the clouds. So, and of course, the dead rises first and then those alive are uh changed in a twinkling of an eye. Well, Paul talks about absent from the body, present with the Lord. We're going to see that scripture here in 2 Corinthians very soon. But I want you to see that as you're you're out of your body, you're in the presence of the Lord as a believer. And rapture is for the believers. So that is also a form of death. It just happens instantaneously. I doubt we even feel it. Isn't that lovely? So Paul's telling the truth here and that's what I wanted to make sure that we understood as we're looking at these scriptures so that there is no misconception or understand or misunderstanding about God's judgment. Okay. So let's go to Revelation or excuse me Romans 14:10 and 11. But why doesust thou judge? That word judge there is to distinguish, decide, try, condemn, punish thy brother. or why dust thou set at not or contemptable despise thy brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat. That word judgment seat in the Greek word is beimma. You're going to hear a lot of theologians talk about the beimma judgment seat. And you'll hear that term. Well, that's what this word means. Beimma. It's a Greek word in the Greek. It means beimma. And it's just simply a step a foot breath. Tribunal of Christ is what it is. Verse 11. For it is written, there it is engraved again. As I live, sayaith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me and every tongue shall confess to God. And and that confess means to acknowledge and agree with. So here we now know everybody's going to be judged. Very simple, very truthful. That's what's happening here. Everybody is going to stand before God and face judgment. Now let's see how this is work because now we are looking at a believer and a non-believer and how does God distinguish between the two. So let's talk about a believer's judgment. So let's go to 2 Corinthians 5 6-10. Therefore we are always confident knowing that whilst we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. Earlier I was talking about it. when you are absent from the body, you are present in the Lord as a believer. So, we're talking about a believer's judgment. Verse seven, for we walk by faith, not by sight. And I really want to address this here for a moment because as a believer in Christ, you take what the scripture says in Romans 10:13, anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. And then you have Romans 10:9 says that if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe with your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. That makes you a believer. That's where you become a believer. You don't even have to be baptized. Remember the thief on the cross? You don't have to be baptized. You become a believer at that very moment. Which means now you're going to be judged. Not be whether you believe or not because you've already called on his name. You're going to be judged by the works that you do as a believer. And I'm gonna tell you right now, there's a lot of casual Christians out there. And if you're a casual Christian, you may find the results not to your liking. So, let's continue on. Let's look at it. Verse eight. We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent or vacate or quit from the body to be present with the Lord. Let's continue on here to verse nine. Wherefore we labor, that whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. For we must all appear before the judgment, sea, there's that beimma again, of Christ, that everyone may receive the things done in his body according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. So now we're we're beginning to understand something here. We're seeing that we're going to be judged by what is in our body. Now remember and what we do with our body as a believer of Christ, our bodies are the temple of God. Let's go look at 1 Corinthians 3:11-17. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon his foundation, gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble, every man's work shall be made manifest. For the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire, and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide, which he hath built there upon, he shall receive a reward or be paid for service. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss, but he himself shall be saved. Yet so as by fire, or that word fire there means lightning also. Verse 16, know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile, look at this, that word defile means to pine or waste the temple of God, him shall God destroy, shrivel, wither, ruin, for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. So, I want you to understand something that's going on here as a believer of Christ. So your body is a temple and God is expecting you to enter your temple and have that temple be there for him to be there. So you and him have a relationship with one another. And when you have your relationship, what happens? You begin to hear God and you begin to understand God's agenda, what he's doing. and you begin to change your life in such a way because change happens to you. He's perfect. We're not. So, as you spend more time with God, his perfection begins to work and transform and change you. And suddenly, you're going to find yourself doing things you ordinarily wouldn't do because you're aware. It's like, you know what? I God wants me to talk to that person over there. Let me go do that. and and especially when you do it under obedience and under humility. Remember Moses getting the Ten Commandments. He brought the people to the temple because God told him to bring them. And then God says, "Don't let them cross the line." But Moses was the example. God spoke to Moses and Aaron directly. He didn't speak to the people directly because they didn't have a relationship with God. But they could have. Moses and Aaron did. Now, God called them to be, but I'm sure somebody was asking to speak to the Lord or to come up to him and or even to say, "Hey, Lord, I just want to shake your hand because I'm grateful for who you are and what you do." My hunch is that God would have met that and that person would have had a great relationship. You can look at David as an example who is a who had the heart after God. Oh, you see this is where this relationship now gets to be judged, measured. Did you notice what it said? It's going to it's like you're once you're absent from the body and you're going to be standing there. I don't know when this happens, by the way. I just know that it does. You're going to have a pile of stuff right there in front of you. It's going to have precious stone, silver, gold, the helmet of salvation, gold, all that is going to be there. See, you got saved. You already have a crown and it's priceless and it will not be burned by fire. Everything, stubble, hay, that's all going to be burned fire by fire. See, the fire is what's going to get you through. And when you get to the other side, what's left of your pile, you know, gossiping, all that will be burned away because that's considered hay, stubble. But when you instead of gossip, you call up somebody and say, "I'm here to pray with you. Can we pray? Let's pray. And do you need help? Let me go to your house. I'll help you. I will do this for you. Let me go get you a bag of groceries. Let me go do this. Let me bring you a meal. Let me you see that is now where you're earning your service, your payment for service that you will get as a believer when you're judged and everything is burned down. That's what's left is what transformed you, what you changed into. That's and you're going to change into this precious stone. I think it's Malachi where God says, "I will wear you like a gem, a jewel on my clothing." That is going to be awesome. But we have to get there. So what we do now is going to affect them. We have to invest in our eternal future. This is why it's so important to have the relationship. You know, just doing a simple daily devotional is not the same as having a relationship with God because there's things you need to hear and be attentive to. End time prophecy, for example, Jesus says to watch. Well, how can you watch if he says you're not going to know the day nor the hour? But see, when you are watching, because you're being obedient to him, whether you understand it or not, he begins to reveal little things to you, and you begin to understand a little more as each day goes by. That's what is in us. So, our works as a believer are going to be judged against fire. Whatever is not consumed by the fire is what we will receive payment for. That is incredible. So, let's continue on. I want you to see now we're going to go to Revelation uh 20 11 through 12. And I saw a great white throne. So, let me put this into perspective of where we're at at this great white throne. This is after a thousand years. So, as we know, there's a day coming called the day of the Lord. And that's going to trigger a seven-year time period of God's wrath. He's going to pour out the the seven seals, the trumpets, the BS. Those are going to pour out. Uh it's his wrath. It's going to pour out on that generation, those people. Now, I believe that generation is us. I don't know when it's going to happen, but I do know that it's coming. It's been prophesied. And I do know that you need to receive grace now. Don't wait to get there because we don't know how you have to believe in Christ. I do know that there are seven thunders that are going to speak. They're going to tell the world how to get saved. So, you're going to have to face that when you get there. Now, at the end of that seven-year time period, it says that men will be finer than o for gold. Okay? I don't know what o for gold is, but it must be very rare. And if you go back and you look in the days of Noah, which Jesus said it' be like the days of Noah, you will find that only four couples survived the flood. And God repopulated the earth with those three couples. You had Noah and his wife. They already had their three sons. They came across survived in the ark. And then the three sons had wives and they begin to have children. And they repopulated the earth from that point on. Well, at the seven-year time period, whoever survives that, again, it could be just three couples, who knows? But that that those people are going to repopulate the earth. Now, God is going to lock the devil up for that thousand years. The devil cannot interfere in that uh thousand-year reign. So, for a thousand years, there's going to be repopulated. Those that were martyed in in the name of Christ are going to be the ones judging this people, uh managing them, ruling over them. They're going to be the um the rulership over them. And these are the people that be risen with their uh new bodies. This is the first resurrection. They're going to cover this thousand-y year millennium. Well, at the end of that thousand year, God is going to release the devil again. And once he's loosed, he's going to gather everybody. He's going to deceive as many people as he can. They're going to gather again and Gog and Magog. And here comes Jesus doing the exact same thing. And he's going to just pull out the devil. He's going to throw him into the lake of fire. And then this white throne judgment takes place. Now, this white throne judgment is for the non-believers. Let's go take a look at this. Says, "And I saw a great white throne and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away, and there was no there was found no place for them. Heaven and earth is gone." Understand this. This is just a little extra golden nugget I'm going to throw out here. Heaven and earth is going to pass away. You can do all the recycling you want. You can plant all the trees you want. I promise you it's not going to change the prophecy. It is prophetic. Heaven and earth shall pass away. Now, it doesn't mean you don't need to do your part. Pick up your trash, throw your trash away, but it does mean you don't have to follow this green earth agenda. We got to save the earth because it's going to pass away. Understand? See? See? If you're spending time with the Lord in a relationship with the Lord, you would know this and you would not fall for that kind of teaching. That's a false ideology. Amen. Verse 12. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God, and the books were opened, and another book was open, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged. Now, see, remember, we're absent from the body, present with the Lord, were alive in Christ. Everybody who dies without their without having their name written in the book of life, they died. They're going straight to hell because they did not make it. They come back out of hell, though. And you saw right here in verse 11, um, no, I have the scripture for it, but we're going to see that in just a moment where Hades and hell is going to give up their dead. We're going to see them give it up. That's the people that died without Christ. So, what you're seeing here is the dead. Take a look at this. and the dead were judged, distinguish, decide, tried, condemn, punish out of those things which were written, engraved in the books, according to their works, toil, and act. This is pretty incredible now. And I really want you to see how this works. You are now seeing how God is showing that I'm going to judge you. This is scriptural. He is here to judge. So even if you're evil and and let me give you an idea of how this is going to look like and we'll read the additional scriptures here in just a moment. Let's say somebody says, "Well, I never heard that and nobody ever told me that." You see the those of us alive, we're with Christ. We will be there in that white throne judgment. And then all these people that are dead and they're saying to God, "I never told." Guess what? The people that are alive, the ones that did tell that person, they're going to speak up. They're gonna say, "Hey, I I told them about that on such and such day." And the Lord will have all of it written in the books there. It will be validated. So, these dead are now being judged. They were in hell. They brought back out. They're being judged. And they're going to now go back into the cast uh into the lake of fire. They're going to be cast into that lake of fire because now he's showing them the proof of why you end up where you did. And for those that went all dramatic and crazy and cursed God and blaspheming him, well, they're probably not going to be shocked. The ones that are going to be shocked are the ones that, oh yeah, that Jesus, he's a good guy. I think he's a good guy. I mean, he's okay. Um, I think he was just a prophet, though. I don't think he's the son of God. That's the people that are going to be shocked because they're going to be standing there going, "I don't deserve this. I did the best I could. I was as good as I could be." Jesus says, "But I don't know who you are." That's what this judgment is about. Let's go on to verse uh 13, 14, and 15. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it. This is what I was referring to earlier. And death and hell delivered gave up the dead which were in them. And they were judged, every man according to the works. and death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. So death and hell is now gone. They're the ones who's been holding all of these people in hell all this time. They're gone cuz God put them in hell. They're there. So, uh, however they were holding them, whether it was a lake of fire or someplace else, and now they're going in a lake of fire, that's probably what it is. And I don't know the difference of all of that, but that's okay. We're following the scripture, just letting the Lord reveal to us what's going on. So death and hell are cast in the lake of fire. This is the second death. And who and here's our opening scripture. Whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. So after they were judged, what is the ultimate thing is their names were not found in the written? They were not found written or engraved in the book of life because they didn't believe that Jesus is the son of God. You see, earlier we went to the scripture where it showed us that Jesus died for us and what he did. And I really like that because I want you to see how he did this. See if I can find the scripture again off the top of my head. What Jesus did.

Let's see here. Ah, yes. Yes. Yes. Here we are. Here we are. Go to Hebrews again in verse 28. So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many. You see Jesus Christ is the son of God. He's the perfection. He came down as a man. He went to the cross. He took our sins on his behalf. Died carrying them and then rose from the grave three days later. That's our Jesus. That's what he did. He is the son of God. And because he did that and those of us that choose to believe, he saved us. So, we get to go be in eternal heaven with God and Jesus because we choose to believe what he did. He pardoned us. Do I deserve it? No. But since Jesus paid the price, I can accept it. That is what you can do too. That's what this is all about. And by accepting him, what are you doing? You're investing in your eternal life. Now, once you accept him, go serve. Have the relationship. Let the relationship be established. And he's going to call you to do things. And guess what? Every time you go to do something for Christ and a little of you get poured out and you feel like you're getting weary, you come back in your relationship with Christ and guess what? You refreshed, renewed. Your cup fillth over again. That is your relationship with Christ. That is where you're going to be judged by your works. Now, remember though, if you decide not to do anything, at least you will be saved by fire. What's the saying? You're you're saved by the little hair on your chinny chin chin or by the skin of your teeth. You made it by fire. You made it. You got the crown of salvation. Why? But this is how merciful God is. This is He's so merciful. He said, "Anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Anyone. And he says that a minimum of three times. I think it's four times, but you got Romans 10:13, Joel 2:32, and Acts 2:21. You can go look it up. Amen. Let's close in a word of prayer. And uh why don't you repeat this prayer with me? Let's do the sinner's prayer. Let's pray it and let's just establish the firm foundation of Jesus so that we can start having that relationship and move forward in that relationship with Christ. Amen. Repeat after me. Dear Jesus, I ask you to come into my heart and forgive me of my sins. I messed up and I need your help. I need your redemption because I know you're going to judge me. And I hope that what survives of the fire is worthy, not just getting saved by the fire. Thank you, Lord. I love you in the name of Jesus. Amen. Amen. Amen. God bless you. I will see you in the next message. Bye-bye.
