WATCH AND PRAY WITH DILIGENCE
Minister Lisa Kane
March 20, 2022

Objective:
The objective of this message is to encourage believers to remain spiritually alert, prayerful, and prepared for the return of the Lord. By studying prophetic scriptures and recognizing the signs of the times, Christians are exhorted to live soberly, guard their hearts and minds, and diligently pursue God’s presence so that they may be found worthy to escape the trials coming upon the earth.
Synopsis:
In this teaching, Lisa Kane opens with prayer and then begins in 1 Thessalonians 5, where Paul warns that the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night. The message highlights the urgency of being watchful and vigilant, contrasting spiritual wakefulness with spiritual sleep and drunkenness. Believers are urged to wear the helmet of salvation and the breastplate of faith and love, maintaining focus and purity in a world full of distractions.
The sermon then explores prophetic connections, including references to Ezekiel 38–39 and Matthew 24, tying together end-time signs such as wars, earthquakes, pestilences, and the sealing of the 144,000. Jesus’ teachings about the days of Noah are emphasized—Noah received advanced warning and prepared diligently, while others ignored the signs. Similarly, Christians today must remain spiritually prepared, recognizing that while no one knows the day or hour, the season and signs are clear.
Scriptures from Luke 21 and Mark 13 stress the importance of prayer and worthiness, echoed by the parable of the ten virgins, where only the prepared entered the wedding feast. Lisa warns that half of believers may miss the rapture due to lack of diligence, though still ultimately saved, they will endure great tribulation and suffering.
Personal testimony illustrates the struggle with worldly distractions and the enemy’s attempts to weigh believers down with the cares of life. Yet through prayer and focus on God, victory and clarity can be found. Supporting verses from Psalms, Timothy, Hebrews, and Peter reaffirm the call to seek God diligently, present ourselves approved before Him, and remain blameless as we await Christ’s return.
The message closes with an exhortation: just as people secure their homes against thieves, so too must Christians prepare for the Lord’s coming through prayer, scripture, vigilance, and faith. The reward of diligence is escaping judgment through the rapture and entering eternal peace with Christ.

Hello and welcome to the House of Faith Ministries. I'm Lisa Kaine and I'm recording this on Sunday, March 20th, 2022. This message is called Watch and Pray with Diligence. Let's open up in a word of prayer. Father God, we lift up this message to your throne room and ask for your blessing upon it. Lord, we pray and ask that we hear your word, apply your word, live your word, and acknowledge that you are God and in control of everything that you do. Thank you for your blessings and your favor upon us and your anointing. In the glorious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. All right, let's go into our first set of scriptures here. We're going to start with First Thessalonians chapter 5. We're going to read verses 1-1. I will stop in between, but let's get started. But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. I want to pause. The day of the Lord is an interesting day. Now you can go through the scriptures. There is a lot of information about the day of the Lord. A lot of things are going to happen and I do believe it's in a particular order. So it does start with Russia invading uh Israel and then God protecting Israel. this great earthquake takes place, the sun goes dark, um the moon turns red. So, there's these activities. Um the ceiling of the 144,000 take place, and then of course the bride of Christ is resurrected, um raptured up. So, there's a lot of things that happen on the day of the Lord. So, Paul is talking to the Thessalonians saying, "Okay, I want you to pay attention here. You're not going to know the days or the time." Watch how he says this. He says uh concerning the times and the seasons, brother, you have no need that I should write to you, for you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. And we got to remember this term thief. And I'm really going to address that in this message because this message about watching and praying diligently is about being prepared. You're going to love this. So let's continue on with the scriptures. Uh so verse three, for when they say peace and safety, then sudden destruction comes upon them as labor pains upon a pregnant woman and they shall not escape. Labor pains is what uh Jesus describes as Matthew describes in Matthew 24. And when you start hearing about rumors of wars and wars and earthquakes and famines, pestilences all over the place, which we are in that right now, that is being fulfilled as we teach this message, then you're you you see that this scripture aligns with that. So, this is all about the day of the Lord, and the day of the Lord triggers all of this event. So, he's talking about this to the Thessalonians. Let's continue on. Verse four. But you, brethren, are not in darkness. so that this day should overtake you as a thief. Again, we're going to be talking about being how thieves work. We're gonna we're going to look at that here in just a moment. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore, let us not sleep as others do, but let us watch and be sober. That's powerful. We're going to get into that here in just a moment. I want to finish the set of scriptures here. Let's look at verse seven. Uh oops, there we go. For those who sleep sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us. That whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. Therefore, comfort each other and edify one another just as you also are doing. Okay, I want to back up here and go here. Okay, there we go. Okay, you can see this is going to be one of those teachings. So, look at this. He says, "Sleep at night, drunk at night, and we're of the day. We need to be sober." So, now take a look at this. He says, "The breastplate of faith and love." I did a whole series on being a soldier in God's army and wearing the helmet of salvation. The helmet of salvation is your covenant with Jesus. And that covenant binds his protection, the helmet, over your head and keeps the worldly thoughts and ideologies out of your head so that your head can stay focused on what the scripture tells us. So here he's saying, not only do you have your hope of salvation by wearing that helmet, but look, he's also talking about breastplate of faith and love. And faith is something we hope for that we cannot see. So all of this has to do with prophecy. Here we are again talking about prophecy. The day of the Lord has not happened yet and everything it describes has not happened. Ezekiel 38 and39 when it talks about the invasion of Russia and then that great earthquake says every wall falls. That has not happened. So that's coming. So this has everything to do with faith. So you've got to keep your mind. So he's telling you where to keep your mind. And then of course including love. And remember Matthew 24 prophesies that love grows cold. So us believers have to maintain that love. So now I want to show you what he's talking about with the mind because I think if you see how the descriptions of what he's saying about the mind, you're going to understand something very carefully here. So here he says um and we're going to look at focus on verse six here in 1 Thessalonians chapter 5. Therefore let us not sleep as others do but let us watch. Look at what the Greek word watch means to keep awake. That is to watch literally or figuratively. Be vigilant. Ah, vigilant. Okay. So, we're going to be having to stay in the word. We have to keep an action to stay awake. Now, let's look at what the sleep portion of this is. So, let me get to the sleep. Here we go. Same verse. Now, now in verse six, he says, "Therefore, let us not sleep." Says, "To sleep, to lie down, to rest." That is by implication to fall asleep. Okay. So, let's talk about the thief and let's talk about our mind in sleepwatch mode. Okay? Which is what Paul is talking about here. So, when you don't feel good, what do you do? You take a pill, you take some sort of medication, and you lie down and rest because you don't feel good. So, you're doing everything you can to let your body rest so it could heal. Okay? So, what Jesus Paul is saying here, hey, listen, you got to be diligent, vigilant, and you've got to be sober minded. meaning you can't have your alcohol or the drugs that impair your mind because there are things going on in the world that you need to watch because otherwise it's going to get you like a thief in the night. So, let's talk about the thief. So, there's a guy out there, let's say guy or gal, and uh they're planning to raid your home. So, what you do because you don't know who this person is. You don't know what they're going to do. You don't know what they want to do. What's the first thing that you do every night so that you could sleep peacefully? Is that you lock your doors in your windows. You even put next to your bed um some sort of weapon and you're there to protect yourself because you don't know if that thief is going to come in. And if that thief should come in, you're prepared to stop the thief from happening. Notice the words, you're prepared. So, this is very interesting because what Jesus and Paul is telling us is to be prepared for the day of the Lord. Okay? But we don't know the day nor the hour.
Know the day or the hour? Oh, let's look at the scriptures. I love this. I love this message. This message is powerful. You guys really got to get into the word of God here. I am telling you, you got to get into it. Let's look at Matthew 24:42-44. Therefore, watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. I want you to stop and look at what he just said. This is Jesus talking. You do not know what hour the Lord is coming.
Why didn't he just say you don't know when? You see, we're going to get to the scripture where it says, "Do not know." Um, you know what? Let's continue with scriptures. We're going to continue on there. Uh, verse 43. But you, but know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore, you also be ready, for the son of man is coming at an hour you do not expect. Now, look what he says earlier in the scriptures in Matthew 24. This is verse 36. But of that day and hour, no one knows. Not even the angels of heaven, but my father only. Pause. Day and hour. Boy, that's awfully specific. Why didn't he say you don't know when? A lot of preachers are telling you that you don't know when. They're misinterpreting the scriptures. Watch the deception that takes place about knowing the day of the Lord and when it's coming. Okay, let's continue on. but as the days of Noah were. So Jesus giving us some insight here as to what to watch for to help us prepare. Let's look at what the days of Noah was like. So also will the coming of the son of man be. So the when that rapture comes, that resurrection of the bride of Christ comes, we're going to see him come from the east to the west like lightning in the sky. He says when that happens, it's going to be like the days of Noah. So everything we're talking about is that day of the Lord. There's a series of events and that bride of Christ is resurrected after the 144,000 are sealed. So watch very carefully about the days of Noah because this is so applicable to us. This is the key. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage until the day that Noah entered the ark and did not know until the flood came and took them all away. So also will the coming of the son of man be. Okay, we have to look at the days of Noah because there's a mystery here. Jesus says no one knows the day nor the hour. Again, he didn't say no one knows when. He says no one knows the day nor the hour. Well, what happened to the week, the month, the season, the year? He didn't say that. Let's continue on with the scriptures here because I want you to see something that happened in Genesis with the flood. Watch. This is so powerful. Genesis 6:3. And the Lord said, "My spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh, yet his day shall be 120 years." Now look at Genesis 7:1. Then the Lord said to Noah, "Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before me in this generation." In verse four, for after seven more days, I will cause it to rain on the earth 40 days and 40 nights, and I will destroy the face of the earth, all living from the face of the earth, all living things that I have made." Ho ho ho. So Jesus says, "Go back to Genesis and take a look because I want you to understand and not be taken like a thief in the night. I don't want you to be unaware of what's coming." So he tells Noah 120 years in advance, you're going to build an ark because I'm going to destroy the earth. So Noah knew 120 years in advance. Okay? And if you get into details, you will find it he didn't start actually building the ark for another 20 years. But as he's building the ark, let me tell you something. How many people saw him building the ark? Many. I bet it was on their news broadcast, television sets, however the people lived during that time, they were aware and they saw that the Lord was coming and they still didn't know. Then look at what he also said. He told Noah, "Come into the ark because in seven days, that's a week. We know in a week." Oh, people, we need to be watching this. We need to be watching because this is why he tells us to watch and be prepared. Now, I want to show you something else here because this is so so amazing. So, you've got Matthew and how he said it. It's like the days of Noah, but Mark and Luke say it differently. They don't use the days of Noah. There's more mystery here. Watch this. Let's start with Luke 21:es 34-36. But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with kerosene, drunkenness, and cares of this life. Isn't that what Paul was talking about? Having the mind in the fog. When you have your mind on drugs or sickness or ailments or of the matters of this world, your focus on the world and not what's coming. And when you're not aware of what's coming, it's going to take you by surprise. But you can prepare for it because that way that thief won't take you by surprise because you're ready to fight it. So here now when you're preparing for the return of the Lord, you know he's coming. When that last seven days come, what are you going to be doing? He said, "Come inside."
[Music] So carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day come on you unexpectedly. I'm going to read that verse again. But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with kerosene, drunkenness, and cares of this life and that day come on you unexpectedly. I'mma pause here for another moment. I got to share slight testimony from this week. I had a rough week. I gotten sick last Sunday and it, you know, it kind of lingered all week long, but I'm over it now. So, it was that sickness attack. It was all these little things that came in and Wednesday was the catalyst of this. And I I had gotten emotional about it and I I was frustrated. I got up from my desk and I walked out went for a walk around my the perimeter where work where I work and as I was like I said, "Lord, what's wrong with me? Why am I getting so focused on this?" And all week long, I had been studying these scriptures, looking at it, trying to figure out how I was going to present this message to you. And it was dawning on me, hey, the devil's trying to get me caught up on the cares of this world. So, as I was walking, I said, you know what, Lord, I'm giving this to you because it ain't my problem. One, nobody's going to care in a hundred years. One, two, I got more important things to look at. The return of you, that's what I'm talking about. You can easily get caught up into the elements of the world here. I mean, we just had St. Patrick's Day. I was driving to work. There were nobody on the road. I don't know how many people took off Thursday and Friday, but I'm sitting there like I guess people wanted to have a good drunken moment because that's what you do on St. Patty's Day. Get caught up in the world, get caught up in the events. You got to watch and be diligent and pray. We're going to show that in just a moment here. Okay, let's continue on with Luke here. Uh verse 35. ever will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass to stand before the son of man. Okay, now this is where it gets different. Okay, so we saw how Matthew talked about it how Jesus said to go back to the days of Noah and Luke is telling us listen you got to be counted worthy. And this is so applicable to what Jesus said with the virgin, the parable of the 10 virgins. Now, I didn't put that parable here. I encourage you to go look the scriptures up. The parable of the 10 virgins are the same. They're 10 virgins. They're all identical and they're the church. So, what happens is fif five of them have their oil and they're ready to go with the wedding party. Five of them don't. So the five that don't say to the ones that do give me give us some of your extra oil. And the ones that are wise tell the others, "Hey, we came prepared. You go buy your own." And while the other ones were out buying their own, the the five came into the wedding, the other five who showed up late, Jesus said, "I don't know who you are." And kept the doors locked and they missed the rapture. So, but they're all believers in Christ. I want you to see that and understand. And look, look at how Mark or Luke says it here, counted worthy to escape all these things. It is a blessing when you are righteous because you're taking the next step. You're not getting caught up in the world with the kerosene and the drunkenness. You're saying, "No, I'm going to choose God." And God says, "Okay, I got a blessing for you. You're going to go up in the rapture." That's what this is about. So, you get counted worthy. So you got to be diligent. And notice he also said to pray. So you're praying, you know, and the things that you need to be praying. Pray for yourself. I don't know how many people are praying for you. First, pray for yourself. Pray for your family. Pray. Let God hear your voice. Because then you can say, "God, you know me because you're hearing my voice because I'm talking to you all the time. And by the way, I talk to him all the time. He knows my voice. I know his." That's another thing is as you enter into that relationship with God, you begin to realize, wow, he's real and he's coming and you line yourself up with him. You get counted worthy. Ah, so it's awesome. So you see the difference here now talking about the same event but another viewpoint. Now watch, I'm going to show you the next one. So we just finished Luke. Now, let's go look at Mark's viewpoint. This is so fascinating. Says, "But of that day and hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the son, but only the father." Now, that's similar to what we already heard. But look, take heed, watch and pray. Now, he added prayer, for you do not know when the time is. It is like a man going to a far country who left his house and gave authority to his servants and to each his work and commanded the doorkeeper to watch.
Watch therefore for you do not know when the master of the house is coming. In the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning, lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say to you, I say to all, watch. There's even more information here. Oh my goodness, you guys. This is powerful. Okay, so he emphasizes here, watch. He also emphasizes prayer. But look at what he said. He said in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning. Okay, so you have evening, you got midnight. Crowing of the rooster is just before the sunlight breaks the horizon outside. And then you have morning. What happened to noon? [Laughter]
Is it possible that we don't know the day nor the hour simply because we're on different time zones, but we know 120 years in advance. We know seven days before. And if you watch Jonathan Khan and how he's been revealing the mysteries of the Jubilees over the last
20 so plus years. So we're already coming into the realization that God has shown us the last 120 years what's happening. And I talked about Mark Twain being the stranger. In fact, I think the clock starts there and I forget what year it is. 18 something. Uh I think 1867 because I think 1967, the 50-year Jubilees, it lands on the same as um uh taking over Jerusalem, the Israelites did in the six- day war of 1967. Anyways, you can look all that up. It's all there. Don't take my word for it. But I'm telling you that you have this clock that started. And so when Jesus talks about the the rumors of wars and the wars and the pestilence and the COVID 19, which is a pestilence, u the famines, how many people are starving in the world, and all the earthquakes. I don't know if you've noticed how much how many earthquakes we've had lately. It's been quite a bit. So this is what he's saying. Watch and pray and be diligent about it. Vigilant is the other word that Paul used in Thessalonians. This is absolutely imperative that you do this because you don't want to become unaware, which means you need to prepare. So, if you're going to prepare for a thief by locking your doors, locking your windows, having things that will trigger your your senses to wake you up in case you hear somebody messing with the door. These are things that you prepare for, which means you need to prepare for the return of the Lord. So, that day is coming. It's prophetic. There is no if. It is a when. Okay? We don't know the day nor the hour. But we certainly do know the season. We know that if Jesus fulfilled the first set of feast of the Israelites by his coming as a man and dying on the cross for our sins, that was all fulfilled with the first fruits fruit uh first feast that happened in the Israelites Passover. That's he was the Passover lamb. So he fulfills all that. So the second half of the feast are all the fall feast. So we do have a good idea it's going to happen in the fall there. You know God has his clock. He knows his clock. Okay. Uh we know so we know a season. We know that we had this 120 years. And if you go back and look at the last 120 years, um even after the stranger in the land did what he did, there was a series of large earthquakes that happened at that time. Uh we're we're talking a whole lot of them. You can go back and look at this. Uh you had um the one uh from Isuza Street Revival that was um h that revival was happening at the same time that large earthquake happened in San Francisco. But there was a series of about three other earthquakes that were in the eights during that time. So I'm telling you the clock started and we knew 120 years in advance. So now it comes down to the last seven week seven days that we're going to know. Don't know when that's coming, but we will know because God will tell every believer that is spending time with him, come inside. Those are the words he's going to tell us. So now question is, are you going to hear it? Because if you are spending time in the secret place with the Lord, you will hear those words, you will come inside and you will be ready and waiting for his return. Oh, so it is time to prepare. The other part that comes out of this in in a subtle way is to comfort one another. I know that this sounds like a doom and gloom type of message and it sounds scary, but you have to realize something. Look at the world. You know, I get it. Go back to Darwin. He's looking at the beach and he's looking around. He he describes it as a peaceful moment. Now, don't let it deceive you because he's thinking, okay, well, in this peaceful moment, it's always peaceful. And that's when he came up with evolution and he measured it on that moment. And we can go outside and look at the green trees, get a little breeze, puff a cloud here and there. It's gorgeous. This earth is gorgeous. It really is. And you can have that moment of peace. It really is nice. But I'm going tell you right now that's going away. You know when we talked about that first scripture talking peace and comfort and then all of a sudden sudden destruction. So right now things look quite peaceful when you step outside and don't look at the news. But if you watch the news, because we need to be watching and be diligent and pray, then we're aware of what's going on. There are other scriptures that support this and in a whole different kind of way. And I I want to go here and give you some additional scriptures because I think you can see it how the whole Bible prepares us for this. This is amazing. I just love the Lord. He's just so good at this. I mean, I love him. I love him. Okay, so Psalm 8:17, I love those who love me and those who seek me diligently will find me. So here he's telling you, you're going to find me. So don't think that, oh, if I go do this, I ain't going to be there. No, no, no, no, no. He's going to be there and he's going to get you ready. Especially when you say, you know, God, I don't want to be left behind. He understands that, respects that, and he will comfort you. Look at these other scriptures. Uh 2 Timothy 2:15, be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Again, be prepared. Get yourself in front of God now before the judgment day comes so that you can say, "Lord, I need your help because I'm a sinner and I need to get right with you so I can move forward with you in what you're doing because this doesn't matter anymore. You matter and my future with you matters." Amen. Let's look at Hebrews. Here we go again. Hebrews 11:6. But without faith, it is impossible to please him. For he who comes to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. The reward is the rapture and not being left in this earth. Now remember the 10 virgins I talked about. 50% went up with the Lord, 50% stayed back. All believers. Now I want you to understand something. how you die. We all want to hope that we can control our death and it be somewhat of a comfort like go to sleep and don't wake up something to that effect where it's painless. Think of it like this. That 50% that didn't go still have to die. Now in that first five months after that day of the Lord and all those events that trigger or get triggered they they happen on that day the next five months you can't die and then there's going to be thunders and this is in Revelation go read it I didn't bring that scripture here but there are going to be thunders that are going to come out and talk to you who's here. So those that are believers again are going to have the opportunity and they're going to realize because they've been hearing about us teaching them about the rapture all this time and they missed the boat because they chose not to be diligently and and show themselves approved and worthy and diligent to God because they missed the boat. They're going to have to die again. They miss the blessing of the rapture that you can grab now if you just go get in his presence. But if you So it's not like you're going to miss out in eternity. I want you to understand that you're just missing out in the blessing of not being here for the torture and the torment. And I'm going to tell you that first five months of who uh is left behind, the 144,000 are sealed. That's the Israelite male Jews that are sealed. They won't be touched. But these locust things are going to be going around stinging every other human being on this earth. And so if you miss this rapture, which is the blessing to get out of that, then you're stuck dealing with that torment and torture and pain. I am trying to hopefully catch you before it gets there. Please, I urge you, not only repent, but get into the presence of God and show yourself worthy to God. Amen. Look at what 2 Peter 3:14 says. Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by him in peace without spot and blameless. Again, the same message. You're seeing the same theme. It is time that we get into the presence of the Lord in our secret place and say, "Okay, God, I am going to do my best. Yeah, I s I fall every day. Look at what happened in my testimony I shared earlier for this week. Getting caught up in the the things of the world even, you know, and I taught on this uh uh the last message about even the elect possibly being deceived. It's like that should scare the living hell out of you in all reality. Oh, I hope this is why I get into the secret place with the Lord. I'm praying. Lord, don't let me get deceived. I'm hoping that helmet is thick, strong, and it keeps the world out of my head and my heart. So, when the attacks come on, because that's what's happening right now. The deception is on, the attacks are on. The world seems so tempting to, oh, I can relax and be at peace here and enjoy. But it's coming. It's coming. This day of the Lord is coming. It is prophetic. It is prophesied. I think all of the the u prophets talk about it if not most of them do but it's coming and the word of God was written and assembled for us today to know what's coming because we're that generation. And I'm telling you my friends, you got to wake up, get the fog out of your mind. Be diligent and prepare. Meaning get into that secret place with the Lord. Pray. Pray for yourself. Pray for your family. Pray. Let God hear your voice and you hear his voice. Meaning, you get the scriptures and learn. Don't Don't rely on the preachers out here because they're the ones that are teaching you, hey, no one's going to know when anyways. Don't worry about it. That's what a lot of them are teaching. That's not what the Bible says. You can just see what I just taught. We know 120 years in advance and seven days before. We know. Oh, and it looks like around noon.
All I'm saying is be ready. Amen. Let's pray. And let's pray for that strength. Let's pray together. Uh I want you to agree with me in prayer. And I pray that you are diligent in your prayer life and that you and God get to know one another. Amen. Oh, heavenly father, we thank you for this word. Oh, thank you for getting us prepared. I pray and ask that you prepare us appropriately. That you give us the the strength and the endurance to get into the secret place with you to find out who you are. That we talk to you and that we hear you and that we apply your word to our spirit and our soul and that we can say, "You are God. You are in control and we know where you're going and we're going to follow where you go." Oh, hallelujah. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, Father God. In the glorious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen. Amen. And God bless you. And I'll see you in the next video. Bye-bye.
