THE BLOOD THAT CANCELS JUDGMENT

Objective:
To reveal through Scripture how the blood of Jesus fulfills God's requirement for atonement, cancels the judgment of sin, and establishes believers under the new covenant. This teaching encourages believers to walk confidently in their redemption, declaring their faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
Synopsis:
Throughout Scripture, God reveals the power of blood to provide atonement and protection from judgment. From the Passover lamb in Egypt to Rahab's scarlet cord, we see how faith and obedience brought deliverance from destruction. These biblical accounts point to the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ, whose blood established a new covenant and secured eternal redemption for those who believe.
This teaching explores how Jesus fulfilled the requirements of the law and how His blood cancels the judgment against those who place their faith in Him. Believers are encouraged to understand their righteousness through Christ, stand confidently in His finished work, and boldly declare their faith over every area of their lives. We do not declare the blood to make His sacrifice effective; we declare our faith because His sacrifice is already sufficient!
Inspired Teaching:
Leviticus 17:11 NKJV
11 For the life of the flesh isin the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’
Exodus 12:6-13 NKJV
6 Now you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month. Then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at twilight. 7 And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it. 8 Then they shall eat the flesh on that night; roasted in fire, with unleavened bread andwith bitter herbs they shall eat it. 9 Do not eat it raw, nor boiled at all with water, but roasted in fire—its head with its legs and its entrails. 10 You shall let none of it remain until morning, and what remains of it until morning you shall burn with fire. 11 And thus you shall eat it: [c]with a belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. So you shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord’s Passover.
12 ‘For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord. 13 Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.
Exodus 12:21-23 NKJV
21 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel and said to them, “Pick out and take lambs for yourselves according to your families, and kill the Passover lamb. 22 And you shall take a bunch of hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that isin the basin. And none of you shall go out of the door of his house until morning. 23 For the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the [g]lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you.
When we look at Exodus 12 regarding the original Passover, we notice that the last plague, taking of the first-born son of all and beasts, is a judgment from God. God is bringing judgment against everyone. But God, in His divine wisdom, made a way for the Israelites to not be affected by this judgment. He gave instructions to the Israelites on what to do to avoid judgment. Note, God didn’t stop the judgment, He went ahead with the judgment.
First, they needed to take a lamb and keep it in their homes for 14 days. Then they needed to kill the lamb at twilight on the 14thday. Then they needed to place the blood of the lamb in a basin where they would take a bunch of hissop, dip it into the blood and apply the blood to the doorposts and lintel. Also, they were not allowed to go outside during the night. These steps took obedience and faith.
What is the purpose of the blood? The blood prevents judgment, rightly so judgment.
Numbers 8:12 NKJV
12 Then the Levites shall lay their hands on the heads of the young bulls, and you shall offer one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering to the Lord, to make atonement for the Levites.
The priests of Israel, the Levites were told to make a sin offering and a burnt offering for their sins and to make atonement. According to dictionary.com ‘atonement’ means satisfaction or reparation for a wrong or injury; amends. Remember, we have all sinned and need atonement.
Romans 3:19-26 NKJV
19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become [e]guilty before God. 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
21 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all [f]and on all who believe. For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified [g]freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a [h]propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
God’s judgment, the law is against everyone and therefore we need the blood. Note, sacrificing bulls was a temporary covering against judgment, but the one who came, Jesus, the Son of God came to be the sacrifice against God’s righteous law so that we can have a covering over those who believe.
God provided a way through His only begotten Son for those who believe to not be destroyed when He, would come against us. Thank God for Jesus’ blood.
Where else do we see this in scripture?
Joshua 2:17-21 NKJV
17 So the men said to her: “We will be blameless[d] of this oath of yours which you have made us swear, 18 unless, when we come into the land, you bind this line of scarlet cord in the window through which you let us down, and unless you [e]bring your father, your mother, your brothers, and all your father’s household to your own home. 19 So it shall be that whoever goes outside the doors of your house into the street, his blood shall be on his own head, and we will be [f]guiltless. And whoever is with you in the house, his [g]blood shall be on our head if a hand is laid on him. 20 And if you tell this business of ours, then we will be [h]free from your oath which you made us swear.”
21 Then she said, “According to your words, so be it.” And she sent them away, and they departed. And she bound the scarlet cord in the window.
Joshua 6:17 NKJV
17 Now the city shall be doomed by the Lord to destruction, it and all who are in it. Only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all who are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.
Joshua 6:22-23 NKJV
22 But Joshua had said to the two men who had spied out the country, “Go into the harlot’s house, and from there bring out the woman and all that she has, as you swore to her.” 23 And the young men who had been spies went in and brought out Rahab, her father, her mother, her brothers, and all that she had. So they brought out all her relatives and left them outside the camp of Israel.
We can clearly see the principle of the covering of the blood here in practice over Rahab and her family. She obeyed and placed the scarlet cord outside of her window and God’s judgment passed over her. Everyone in her house was saved.
What do we know from these scriptures thus far? Life is in the blood and to live, we need the blood of Jesus covering us against the judgment of the law from God.
Hebrews 9:11-15 NKJV
11 But Christ came as High Priest of the good things [c]to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. 12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. 13 For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, [d]sanctifies for the [e]purifying of the flesh, 14 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without [f]spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? 15 And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.
Hebrews 9:16-22 NKJV
16 For where there is a testament, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 17 For a testament is in force after men are dead, since it has no power at all while the testator lives. 18 Therefore not even the first covenant was dedicated without blood. 19 For when Moses had spoken every [g]precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water, scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, 20 saying, “This is the blood of the covenant which God has commanded you.” 21 Then likewise he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry. 22 And according to the law almost all things are [h]purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no [i]remission.
The purpose of the blood is to make a binding covenant, and Jesus is the new covenant. Just like Moses placed blood on the Covenant of the Law, Jesus’ blood becomes the binding element of the new covenant. This new covenant, Jesus’ sacrifice with His blood keeps us from the judgment of the law from God. In essence, He fulfilled the law.
Hebrews 9:28 NKJV
28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
Jesus’ sacrifice was offered to bear the sins of many. Do you believe?
Now, what does this mean for today’s believers? If we truly believe Jesus is the Son of God, then we need to believe judgment will pass over us. How do we apply the blood of Jesus over us? We become saved.
Romans 10:9 NKJV
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
It takes faith to believe but believing comes by confession.
Hebrews 11:1 NKJV
Now faith is the [a]substance of things hoped for, the [b]evidence of things not seen.
When we confess, we are takin a step of faith to speak to something we cannot see, but that’s how God works. He wants you to take that step of faith. Now, one you believe, you can rest assure that God’s judgment will not come against you. You will not die and live eternally separate from God.
John 3:16 NKJV
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
You now have eternal life. This means that now you can walk your daily life ‘knowing’ that you are covered by the blood of Jesus and God’s judgment for your sin is null and void.
You see, the devil will continue to tell you otherwise. He will tell God that you are guilty, and note, you once were. But as a believer, the blood of Jesus covers you and cancels the judgment against you. The devil may throw a hissy fit but in reality, the devil or any of God’s judgments cannot touch you because Jesus’ sacrifice saves you.
Romans 10:17 NKJV
17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Remember this scripture from earlier: Romans 3:25 NKJV
25 whom God set forth as a [h]propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,
We need to believe and walk in faith by confession of the mouth. When we declare the blood of Jesus covers us in faith, the cloud of witnesses listening in, angels, demons, God, the Holy Spirit move on your behalf with your declaration.
When declare the blood of Jesus over your finances, health, life, salvation, etc you are telling those cloud of witnesses that you believe in faith that the judgment against you is canceled, null and void. The judgment no longer affects you.
What does this mean? It means that you are now joint heir with Christ. You believe that you are covered by His blood and you are justified to walk with Christ, in His anointing and in His consequences.
John 16:33 NKJV
33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you [a]will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
It means that when an attack comes (not if), it cannot prosper. Attacks will come but Jesus said He overcame the world. As a believer, joint heir with Him, that also means we have overcome the world too.
Isaiah 54:17 KJV
17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.
Declare the blood of Jesus over every aspect of your life daily demonstrating your faith to God that you believe. The confession starts in the mouth but belief through faith declares righteousness.
Romans 10:9-10 NKJV
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
We don't declare the blood to make Jesus' sacrifice effective. We declare our faith because His sacrifice is already sufficient!
Do you believe? Are you declaring with Faith? There’s no better time to begin than now.
