THE OFFERING
Minister Lisa Kane

Objective:
The objective of this teaching is to help believers understand the spiritual and practical significance of the offering as revealed through the encounter between Abraham and Melchizedek, and how this points to the eternal priesthood of Jesus Christ. It emphasizes the role of tithes, blessings, and the greater offering of Christ Himself, showing how our giving and living as priests and priestesses connects us to the eternal blessing of God and to Christ’s ongoing work as our High Priest.
Synopsis:
In this teaching, Lisa Kane leads us into a study from Hebrews chapter 7, focusing on the biblical encounter between Abraham and Melchizedek. She explains how Abraham’s tithe to Melchizedek, the “king of righteousness” and “king of peace,” is a foreshadowing of Christ’s eternal priesthood. Unlike the Levitical priests, who were mortal and subject to death, Melchizedek is presented as a type of Christ—a priest without beginning or end—pointing to Jesus, who lives forever and receives offerings that testify to His life.
Lisa explores how Abraham’s response of giving a tenth demonstrates the principle of blessing: Melchizedek blessed Abraham, and Abraham returned that blessing with his offering. This cycle of blessing mirrors how believers today, as priests and priestesses in Christ, both receive from God and give back through tithes, offerings, intercession, and service.
Drawing on passages from Malachi 3 and the New Testament, the teaching highlights that tithes and offerings are not only financial but also spiritual acts of faith that release God’s blessings and protection, rebuke the devourer, and testify that Jesus is alive. Lisa also encourages believers to see themselves as the true offering received by Christ, as their lives and testimonies bear witness to His resurrection and ongoing work.
The teaching concludes with a strong call for bold faith and public witness in these end times: confessing Christ, living as His priests, blessing others, and trusting God’s promises of provision and eternal life.

Hello and welcome to the House of Faith Ministries. I'm Lisa Kaine and I'm recording this teaching on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025. Welcome. Glad you could be here. Let's open up in a word of prayer. Father God, we bless your word and we thank you for your word. I lift you up and honor you. You are amazing. You are faithful. You are true. You are righteous. You are just. You are priest. You are king. You are glorious. You are the great I am. And I thank you. I pray that this word does not return void. I pray that you prepare the hearts and the minds of the listeners as they hear this word that they receive this teaching and walk with your anointing. Walk Christlike as priests and priestesses before you in the name of Jesus. Amen. Amen. Hallelujah. We are grateful to have you here joining us today. So this teaching um I am in a different setting. And I I know um I hurt my knee a couple weeks ago and so I'm trying to make things a little easier for me. So it's kind of easier to sit right here right now at this time. But anyways, and then I wanted to see if it looked better or not. I don't know. Also have the windows open. It's a beautiful day. So you might hear some background sounds. Sorry. But that's okay because when you get involved or enthralled with the word of God, it just like everything else goes out the window, right? Because that's how it is with me. So this teaching is called the offering and we're going to be mostly in Hebrews chapter 7 and uh let's hear this is my opening verse and here men that die receive tithes but there he receiveth them of whom it is witness that he liveth. We're going to dive into that scripture in more depth as we get uh through the teaching especially towards the end. So here what we're talking about is Paul is teaching the Hebrews something about the offering of Christ, the tithe, the greater, the better. And he's showing them a distinct difference. So let's start here in verse one and verse two. For this Mckelzedc, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham, returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him, to whom also Abraham gave a tenth, the tithe, part of all, first being by interpretation, king of righteousness, and after that also king of Salem, which is king of peace. So Paul is teaching about Abraham visiting or having an encounter with MelkiseDC, which is in Genesis. When you go back and you read that, you will find that at that time Lot's or excuse me, Abraham's nephew Lot was kidnapped. Uh these there was a rebellion, an uproar against the kings and they came in and they took them captive and then Abraham heard about it. So he took I think it was 312 or 313 men of his household that he went and went and got them back. He saved them. In the meantime, right in the middle of that, he just finished slaughtering the kings, as Paul puts it. You can see that Abraham has an encounter with a priest named MelkiseDC, which means, let's look at that, king of Salem, which also translates as king of peace, and king of righteousness. So, here is a king that encounters Abraham. Now Abraham is being a priest because he well and even as not even a priest but anyone who has their income priest and all. You see as a priest you're offering your services that's your tithe. Well as individuals who are not priests we give our tenth our tithe to where we're being blessed and ministered. So here Melchisedc blesses Abraham. So Abraham took everything. And by the way, Abraham is rich. One of the richest men in history. He gave a tenth of all of that to this king. He's a king, but a priest at the same time, which is a type of Jesus. And we're going to take a look at that in depth. And and Paul is trying to show because there's something very interesting here. Paul is showing the Hebrews, look, Abraham. See, the Hebrews think, hey, we're the chosen people of God. So, that kind of bumps your thinking up a bit. You think of yourself a little higher than you ordinarily would. Well, here Paul is saying, but there's something better. And Abraham gave to that better. So, he's trying to show them, listen, there's a better. And he's talking about Jesus. So now let's continue on in verse three. He's talking about Melkisedc. And look, he says he's without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like unto the son of God abideth a priest continually. Pause here for a second. Did you see he's Paul is saying this is a type of priest, but we just saw him call him king of righteousness, king of Salem, king of peace. So now you've got a dual role now. And it's the way the scriptures are written that Paul is identifying this. He says, listen, you don't hear how he began. You don't hear how he ended. He just suddenly was there in the scriptures. is just a man of God, righteous king righteous that blessed Abraham. The king blessed Abraham. Jesus blesses us. The Holy Spirit, heavenly father bless us. And so Abraham then gave of his financial blessing, the a tenth of all. That is critical here. But he he gave it to a king. But look what Paul is calling him. a priest continually. Let's continue on. Now consider how great this man was unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils. Yes. So Abraham gave a tenth of everything. So Abraham considered him great. But more importantly, and I want to kind of elaborate a little bit more, is that Abraham responded to the blessing by the king by giving an offering of his tenth. This is this is good. This one's a good one. Let's go into verse five. And verily they that are the of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes as debtor or creditor of the people according to the law, that is of their brethren, though they came out of the loins of Abraham. But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham and blessed him that had the promises. Oh, see Melkisedc didn't come out of the tribe of Levi. Levi, MelkiseDC was separate. The tri uh 12 tribes of Israel didn't exist except in the loins of Abra Abraham because it was Abraham, Isaac, Jacob. Jacob's name was returned into changed into Israel and then you had the 12 tribes of Israel. So here he's showing us look it this is the the the uh priest the sons of Levi they have to take tithes they have a commandment to take because see the blessings for all 12 tribes the the 11 tribes had to bless Levi Levi had no portion of their own they were priests. So here you have this greater priest a type of Jesus named Melkchisedc. And the interesting part is this Melkchisedc as a king blessed Abraham and then Abraham returned the blessing by blessing him financially with the tenth of everything. Verse seven, and without all contradiction, the less is blessed of the better. the less is blessed of the better. You see, both Melkisedc and Abraham blessed each other and they were both blessed. Now, whatever blessing that Melkisedc put on Abraham, I'm not sure, but you can go back and look at that in detail. Give you a little bit of homework as I like to do. Then here though, Abraham gave of his tent. So now you what would Jesus do if you're part of Jesus you're part of being Christ like when you bless you speak the blessings the return will be financial it will be any other type of blessing that you need you bless your health you blessed your finances you bless your neighbors I think I taught on that before where your uh I had gotten that epiphany about our neighbors that uh we're talking about um back in our Lake Elsnor, California days that we had some thievery going on and as soon as we started praying I was blessing financial blessings upon our neighbors all of a sudden thief the thievery went down because they had the money to get whatever it was they were getting because whatever they were stealing was something that they needed and they should have had their needs met but nobody was blessing them. So here we are being Christlike. Let's let's continue on now. Verse eight, which is my opening scripture. And here men that die receive tithes, but there he receiveth them of whom it is witness that he liveth. Now I want you to see something here. And here men that die receive tithes. The Levites were dying. Every p every person dies. Hebrews 9:27 tells us that every person is appointed to die once. So every priest that took tithes died. Then look at what he says here. But there where's there? Because see Paul is talking about the type of priest Jesus is. Jesus being a priest. He says but there he receiveth them. Who are them? That's us. He receives us. That's his offering. That's the blessing back to him because he spoke the word. Let there be light and there was light. There was life and he created all this. That was the blessing. And he said it was good. Now that blessing comes back where we're the ones, look at what he says. He receives us of whom whom it is witness testified that he liveth. We are testifying that Jesus lives. So we're the offering that he brings into the house. Oh, I hope you guys are getting this. This is powerful. And as I may say to you, Levi also who receiveth tithe, pay tithes in Abraham, for he was yet in the loins of his father when Melchisedc met him. So here, Levi didn't exist yet, but they did pay tithes to the higher priest, the better, the greater. That is what Paul is talking about. He's saying there's something someone better because he's trying to get them to understand the scriptures of the past using MelkiseDC to understand what they had with Jesus the Messiah which then applies to us because he's show remember when Paul was getting near the end of his life at the end of Acts when he was have living in that house kind of under uh house arrest if you will but the rentwood that was his house that was is people came to him both Jews and Gentiles and he ended up ministering to both. This is why he was able to or he might be the author of Hebrews. We aren't not sure about that. But if that's the case, this is how he was able to minister to them. Amen. Now look at verse 11 because he's he's elaborating further. He says, "If therefore perfection or completion were by the Levitical priesthood, for under it the people received the law, what further need was there that another priest should rise from the order of Melkisedc and not be called after the order of Aaron?" You see, now Melkisedc, who was not even part of the lineage of Abraham, the better. He's the one who came and blessed Abraham. He's a blesser. We are part of the better. Remember what Jesus said? You will do greater things than I. He said we would do that because we're the better because we're blessing. When we are blessing, see the power of the benediction, the power of the blessing goes forth. It is the better. And the others come after that. So Melchisedc being the type of Jesus was the better. So Jesus who paid our entire price, who redeemed us, is the better. So he's saying now, why was there in need of another? He says, why? See, remember what he said earlier, the priests kept dying. The end of their life, they died. You had to come with another priest. They had it could not continue on forever. So here verse 12, for the priests are being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law. So now this teaching that Paul is teaching, I believe it's Paul, he's coming back and he's telling them, look, things had to change because notice, and you're going to see in the next bit of scripture here, he didn't come out of the tribe of Levi. Jesus came out of the tribe of Judah. He's the line of the tribe of Judah. And as such, he's the better. He fulfilled the law. He didn't obliterate it. He didn't get rid of it. The law still acts today. It tells every human being on the face of this earth that you have sinned and you have fallen short of the glory of God and you are not able to meet the requirement of the law. So Jesus whose perfection, he came in and he changed it. He fulfilled it. He paid the price with his blood. He offered his blood on the mercy seat. And that offering is what paid the way and made the change. It changed the law into we've got a spiritual redemption now because he is the son of God. He made a way for us to be saved. Hallelujah. Verse 13. For he of whom these things are spoken pertainth to another tribe of which no man gave attendance attendance at the altar or a place of sacrifice. For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Judah, of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood. Priesthood is not out of the tribe of Judah. Melchisedc had no part of Abraham's lineage. Yet Jesus came out of the lineage of Abraham. He is the better. He's perfection. He is the son of God. Oh, this is incredible. Verse 15. And it is yet far more evident for that after the similitude of Mechisedc. There ariseth another priest who is made not after the law of a carnal commandment but after the power of an endless life. Jesus is life and life abundantly eternal life that we have. That's what our benefit is. That is the blessing he blessed us with. I give you eternal life. He says, if you believe in me, if you witness me being alive and you remember Romans 10:9 says that if you confess with your mouth, you got to say it out loud, that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from the dead, you're being a witness to him being alive, you will be saved. That's the blessing, the benefit that we have is eternal life in him. Woo, this is so good. Then you go to Malachi. Let's look at this because I got to get get the get some self-control here and get this under control. Understand that what Jesus did, he made an offering. And so here we priestlike because we have to be Christlike. Christ came as a priest who will become a king because remember Melkchisedc the high priest was called king of Salem king of righteousness a dual role that's Jesus he has a dual role we're Christlike so when we here now we are priests inter interceding for all of those around us for our families for our friends for our jobs for our neighbors for we intercede And then when we're on the other side, we rule and reign with Christ because we're the bride. And by the way, male and female in his image complete the image of God. So we rule with Christ as one. That's our blessing. Now look at it in the form of tithes because remember the action here was not just a spiritual u altercation be between two men. We we're looking at a physical altercation. He Abraham gave tenth of his earnings. Look in Malachi 3 verse 8 through2. Will a man rob or defraud God? And God says, "Yet ye have robbed me, but ye say, wherein have we robbed thee in tithes and offering?" God says, see, he's saying, "You're robbing me with your tithes and offerings." In essence, you're robbing yourself because your blessing is there. And so when MelkiseDC blessed Abraham, Abraham agreed with that blessing. So he gave a tenth and then he ended up becoming the father of many nations.
Okay. So then go over to verse nine. Ye are cursed with a curse. Because see when you disobey and you don't give, you don't activate the blessing. You don't believe. You are cursed by what? The law. You're cursed. That law curses you because you do not believe and do not accept him. So he says, 'You are cursed with a curse, for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. Then he says to him in verse 10, this is God talking still, "Bring ye all the tithes into your into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me," he says, to test, investigate me. Now herewith sayeth the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it. He's telling you the moment that you put meat in his house. He's going to open the floodgates of blessings over your house. Oh, let's continue. Verse 11. And I will rebuke the devourer. You see, doesn't it seem like sometimes you got a hole in your pocket because things just keep taking you you finally get a bonus. Your car breaks down and that bonus paid for it. Hey, praise the Lord. It didn't really come out of you. But that there's there's a devour eating at your gain, but you should be gain. Hey, I hear a lot of things on social media that, oh, look at all those prosperous teachers and preachers out there. Let me tell you something so you hear and understand. Abraham was rich. Lot was rich. All there were so many rich people that were believers in God. Job was rich. David was rich. Solomon the absolute richest man. And why? Because he had an encounter with God. And God said, "What is it that you want?" And he asked for wisdom. And then God gave him all the gold and everything else because he had a heart that said, "You know what? I want God's wisdom more than I want gold and and silver." But God blesses his people. You shouldn't be surviving paycheck to paycheck. You should be living a full enjoyable life where you lack nothing. And God says to prove him, test him, and you will see. But I want you to understand something. Melkchisedc blessed Abraham and then Abraham blessed Melkisedc. So where you're being blessed is where you should be tithing. Let's come back to this now. So he says, "And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground, neither shall your vine cast your fruit before the time in the field, sayeth the Lord of hosts. and all nations shall call you blessed. For ye shall be a delight some pleasure, desire land, sayaeth the Lord of hosts. Israel is blessed. Israel has kept what God has called and they've they've had it tough. So God keep he keeps blessing and he gives them more because he is showing his love. They're his chosen nation. But here we're adopted into that. We are joint hes of that. So as priests and priests, priestesses bless those and then the blessings should come back. So if you're being blessed by a priest who is acting priest and king when you're being blessed like that, Jesus is blessing you. He has blessed you. You are blessed. He has blessed you with eternal salvation. He has blessed you because he is the God of peace. He has chosen you to save you. You are blessed. He desires you. He wants you. That's your blessing. Now, in return, what do you give back to him? And by the way, it could be a financial blessing. In that case, it was financial, but it can also be your time. What did Levi do? They didn't have money to bless. They blessed with their service. Now, you can also take up that service of blessings. And you can also bless others as a priest priestesses and then be blessed back. And as the spoken blessings go back and forth, you will never lack for want. You will and you will be saved eternally and physically, emotionally here on the earth while you're still here. Now let's go back to verse eight. Says what? Look at how this is because I want you to see how Jesus is doing this now cuz there is the type of uh this is all Melkisedc all that is a shadow type of Jesus and what he does and it's right here in the key of this verse eight and here men that die receive tithes Jesus died on the cross Levis die your lifetime we all die we all have to die but we who I received tithes. Jesus received his tithes. I don't remember hearing about Jesus receiving tithes. Look at this. But there he receiveth down him. He is at the right hand of God. And every time a believer dies, welcome thy good and faithful servant. He brings you home. He receives you. And it's because you witness. You're testifying to him living. Oh, every time you pray, you're saying, Jesus, you're alive. That is your witness. That is your testimony. That is what we have. And look at here, Romans 3:21. Now, but now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets. So now anyone who has fulfilled the law is being witnessed Jesus being witnessed being by being fulfilled because he fulfilled the law. So anyone who comes to Jesus, anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord Jesus who is the son of God, you are an active witness and you are testifying to a surrounding cloud of witnesses that we can't see, but we're testifying to them to the world who's looking. There is the son of God and he is alive. He is real and he is taking us. And when we're there in his presence, we will be there and we're going to be his bride. Whether we die on the earth before his return or we meet him in the air, whatever the case may be, when we get to the other side as believers, witnesses, testifiers of him alive, we are brought in and we fulfill the offering. You see, this is the power of God and all. And you know, when you go back and you read Hebrews, you get into Hebrews 11 and and uh Paul's talking about the faith of these people. When you get into um that faith, he talks about Abraham. Abraham was told he was going to be a father of many nations, but he didn't see that come true or come to pass in his lifetime. He died first. Which by the way is also a type of this when you die to the world. And that's how we live. We don't follow the fads and the norm of what the world thinks. We don't even do math like the world does. When we tithe, he returns 30, 40, 70, 80, 90, 100fold. fold not percent. So as you you're being that blessing is coming to you more and more and more and that is who the God of whom we serve and that is who we testify. That is our witness. And let me remind you as we are in these end times, what is it that we need to do now? Oh my goodness. It is absolutely imperative that we show the world, build your confidence, be bold and confidence and tell them Jesus is real. Jesus is alive. Jesus has mercy. Jesus is our forgiver. He is full of grace. And that we can walk by that grace. Why? Because you do not want to go through what's coming. God is going to pour his wrath out on this earth. And when he does, those people that are going to be living at that time is hell on earth because I believe hell is even worse. But they are going to be facing their demons. They're going to be facing hardship. They're going to have to face serious decisions. And it will be hard. And if they could get saved, maybe they will because God is still merciful. But I do not see grace in the time of God's wrath. Wrath and grace don't mix like water and oil. But we here and now have an opportunity to believe. And that's all we have to do is believe and we are saved. Anyone Romans 10:13, whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. And again, Romans 10:9, this is how you get saved. That if you confess with your mouth, you got to speak out loud. You got to let all those clouds of witnesses know that if you confess Jesus as Lord, Jesus is Lord over whatever and believe that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. That is the promise that we've been given. And God keeps his promises. He will. If he can keep the law and keep the law functioning the way it is still today, even though his son has fulfilled it, he didn't undo it. He didn't. He transformed it into believing for grace. If he can do that, that he can he kept that he'll keep his promises. That is absolutely a sure thing. Amen. Let's close in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word and we bless your word. Oh Lord Jesus, I pray that we grasp this, that we get a hold of it, that we know who our Jesus is, and that we can trust in Jesus, that we can bless others, that we can intercede for others, that we can be there for others so that we're blessing them, and that in in effect opens the doors to return the blessings back to us. You are amazing. And I just love how your principles work in the word of God, Father God. Thank you, Lord. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen. Amen. Amen. God bless you. I will see you next time. Bye-bye.
