  • THE FOUR PILLARS OF EVIL | HoFM

Top of Page THE DELIVERANCE MINISTRY THE FOUR PILLARS OF EVIL Galatians 5:19-21 “Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you before hand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” All the works of the flesh are driven by selfish ambitions, the goal of the fruit of the Spirit which emanates from God’s love for us, is to deliver us from our bondage to the selfish desires of our flesh, so that we can walk under the fruit of self-control. Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness (meekness), self-control. Against such there is no law.” If you have already accepted the forgiveness of sins that the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross purchased for your salvation, then the Spirit of God is already within you, and you have been qualified to produce spiritual fruit, and you can be delivered from the strongholds in your life that are keeping you from walking under the fruit of self-control. Proverbs 11:9 “The hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous will be delivered.” Once we accepted Jesus as our Savior, we became born again, born of the Spirit of the Living God, what that means is that we were made righteous before God, but now we need to seek the goal of our faith, 1 Peter 1:9 , which is to be delivered from the selfish ambitions/desires of our soul and learn how to walk after the Spirit of God by producing within us the fruit of self-control. Proverbs tells us that it is through knowledge that we are able to obtain deliverance once we have accepted Jesus as our Savior and Lord. What kind of knowledge is there that we need to know in order to be delivered from our earthly desires that keep our souls bound? We need to know and understand how the spirit of Selfish Ambition and the spirit of Self-Control operate, and how they influence our behavior. In our opening text, where the works of the flesh were enumerated, we see that there were a total of seventeen works that were mentioned, one of them, which I highlighted, is selfish ambitions. In order for us to best understand how our flesh operates, I took the liberty to classify the works of the flesh by their function when I wrote about them in my book The Liberation of the Human Soul, which you can find in the book’s section of the houseoffatihministries.org. I classified four of the works of the flesh as perversion, for that is what they aim to accomplish. I classified another four of the works of the flesh as division, since that is what they aim to accomplish as well. Another four I found to be part of what I called false religion, for their aim is to bind us into legalism and away from true faith. And the last four I defined as malfunction, for that is the aim of all of the works of the flesh, to get humanity to falter to the point where it becomes worthless and useless to God. So that through the manipulation of our selfish desires and ambitions the devil tries to hinder the believers from implementing God’s will and purpose in the earth. That is why our opening text says that: those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Romans 14:17 “For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” The kingdom of God is about producing spiritual fruit, and when we believe in a perversion of the truth, we open the door of our self or soul to the enemy to tempt us, who will then try to keep us from inheriting the kingdom of God by stifling our ability to produce spiritual fruit. PERVERSION 4 FALSE RELIGION SELFISH AMBITION DIVISION 4 1 4 MALFUNCTION 4 If you follow the chart above starting with perversion, you can see the progression of how the works of the flesh operate within us. The very first thing that the devil does is to try to pervert what we believe to be true by bringing the truth that we believe into question: did God really say? was the very first thing that the devil said that is recoded in the Bible. Once what we thought to be true comes into question, immediately we become inwardly divided, we do not like uncertainty so we look for a way out, what we naturally end up doing is trying to reestablish our sense of the truth through natural means instead of faith, that always leads to religious rituals; if we do certain things or pray in a different way, then what we believed to be truth will be realized once again, we think; but remember that reliance on religion is a false way to go about searching for the truth, for it is written that without faith it is impossible to please God. So that we end up malfunctioning until the issue is settled. John 8:32 “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Here is how it works; Let’s say that you are a young adult and have your mother and father in your life, but out of nowhere the thought comes into your mind that they are not your real parents, at first you think of that thought as nonsense, but then memories come to mind that give some credence to the idea that maybe you were indeed adopted. You see, it does not matter whether you were really adopted or not, once you entertained that possibility, immediately your heart became divided, the equation of your relationship with your parents is forever altered. The first question that usually pops up is, If they are not my real parents, then who are my real parents? And then other questions follow, like, Where are they? Are they alive or dead? Why did they give me up? So that without a scintilla of facts our lives can be turned upside down in an instant, that is how the power of perversion works, and it works with the same power and in the same manner against anything that we believe to be true. So how do we deal with all of these new feelings and emotions? We try to reason our way out of them; we might say, if they are not my real parents at least they cared enough to adopt me. But the thought that they lied to you, or at least concealed the truth from you will not let you rest. So that the next time that you go and visit with your parents you will feel like your innocence was violated by them by not telling you the truth, and is now affecting your relationship with them to the point that is malfunctioning, for what else is there that they have hidden from you? What if your aunt, your mother’s sister, whom you have not seen in years, comes to visit and while you are all there, she begins to reminisce and starts telling you about when her sister, your mom, first told her that she was pregnant with you, and you can see them reliving that excitement of what they were going to name you is you were a boy, and just keep on talking about all those minute details of her pregnancy. The truth would immediately engulf you in such a liberating manner that you would feel so foolish that you even thought to doubt the truth that you had embraced for all your life. I used that long illustration to reveal to you how the truth of the Word of God can make you free. Satan is called the accuser of the brethren, and we are told that he accuses us before God day and night. Jesus is our advocate in God’s presence who is continuously covering us with His shed blood before God day and night as well. It is told of the saints in heaven that they overcame all the devil’s accusations with the blood of the Lamb and with the words of their testimonies. Revelation 12:10-11 “Then I hear a loud voice saying in heaven, ‘Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.’” What is the root of all the accusations that the devil is continuously hurling against us? Did God really say that He loves you? God speaks truth, the devil tries to cast doubts on our minds about God’s spoken truth, but ultimately, we decide what it is that we are going to believe. It is not until we embrace the truth that God loves us no matter what, and that He will never leave us nor forsake us no matter what, that we will be made free indeed, for whomever the Son makes free is free indeed. We can do better than just barely getting by in our walk of faith, we need not fear failure, and we need not embrace mediocrity of faith. I dare you to find somewhere in the Bible where it says that God does not love us, or that He does not care for us, so why entertain the lies of the devil any longer? Let us receive the truth today that we are accepted in the beloved, who gave His life as ransom for us, who is our shield and our deliverer. Pray according to our next Scripture. Psalm 86:11 “Teach me Your way, O Lord; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name.” The truth of the Word of God will unite your heart in such a manner that you will have no need of rituals or dead religions to rely upon, for the foundation of God’s truth is an unmovable foundation that will carry you out of whatever hell the devil throws your way. What is the word of your testimony today friend? Back to Deliverance Ministry

  • BLESS THOSE WHO DESIRE TO FEAR YOUR NAME | HoFM

Top of Page OTHER TEACHINGS BLESS THOSE WHO DESIRE TO FEAR YOUR NAME Nehemiah 1:11 “O Lord, I pray, please let your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant, and to the prayer of Your servants who desire to fear Your name; and let Your servant prosper this day, I pray, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king’s cupbearer.” If the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and it is, then a desire to fear His name it should bring to us the knowledge of how to walk in the blessings of God. First let us understand that the fear of the Lord is the reverence that it is due to His name. Unfortunately most Christians have a casual understanding of what true reverence is; now it is true that a father who is in a position of great authority wouldn’t get too upset if his child venture into his office while he is conducting important business, but he would make sure that such a distraction did not happen too often, for that would show him to be incompetent. So that the casual child like attitude that many Christians show towards God, though at times it may not be treated as irreverence by our heavenly Father due to our child like behavior, it is something that definitely keeps us from entering into His office where the business of blessings is taking place. For in His presence, while in fulfillment of His ministry, the protocol of His office demands maturity and self-control. For I was the king’s cupbearer. Nehemiah was a servant to the king. In those days the king had unquestionable authority over the lives of those whom he ruled; Nehemiah was a slave from a conquered nation who had gained the confidence of the king to be one of his many servants that attended to the king’s daily needs. Two things that you did not want to be in those days: one who delivered bad news to the king, or a personal servant to the king who failed to satisfy the king’s request, either one of those could get you killed. The point that I am trying to make is that Nehemiah understood what proper reverence was all about, after all his life depended on it in a daily basis, his actions and behavior towards God are recorded for the benefit of those of us who have a desire to learn how to come before God and into His holy presence in true reverence. Nehemiah 1:7 “We have acted very corruptly against You, and have not kept the commandments, the statutes, nor the ordinances which You commanded Your servant Moses.” A true sign of maturity is when a person understands the difference between the power of holiness and the weakness of sin. The reason why the basic meaning for the word reverence is the word fear, is because fear of not gaining or fear of losing our well being is what is at stake in our relationship with a holy God. After all He is holy and we are not, and without His grace, mercy, and compassion we are at a loss. A heart that deep within itself says, I am not worthy to be anywhere near the holy presence of God, will immediately acknowledge that fact if allowed into the presence of God. There cannot be any level of self righteousness within ourselves in the presence of a holy God. Nehemiah said, we violated the commandments, the statutes, the ordinances, we deserve everything bad that has happened to us, so that there is an inherited fear, respect, and reverence while in His presence that says, we are totally dependent upon Your mercy Lord. Nehemiah 1:8-9 “Remember, I pray, the word that You commanded Your servant Moses, saying, ‘If your are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the nations; but if you return to Me, and keep My commandments and do them, though some of you were cast out to the farthest part of the heavens, yet I will gather them from there, and bring them to the place which I have chosen as a dwelling place for My name’” Nehemiah acknowledges that everything bad that has happened to them is in accordance with what God had promised, so that he is in agreement with the Word of God; but then he pivots and reminds God that along with the judgment God also had promised restoration, that is why he starts his prayer on the basis of God’s promised mercy to those who would acknowledge their sins before God in repentance. Nehemiah 1:5-6 “And I said: ‘I pray, Lord God of heaven, O great and awesome God, You who keep Your covenant and mercy with those who love You and observe Your commandments, please let Your ear be attentive and Your eyes open, that You may hear the prayer of Your servant which I pray before You now, day and night, for the children of Israel Your servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel which we have sinned against You. Both my fathers house and I have sinned.’” What prompted Nehemiah to pray was the bad news that he received from some travelers that came from Judah and Jerusalem. He was told that God’s people were in great distress and reproach, and that the walls of Jerusalem were also broken and the gates were burned with fire. Look at the humble heart of this man of God as he confesses before God the sins of the children of Israel and adds, both my fathers house and I myself have sinned and are responsible for this catastrophe that has befallen God’s servants, the children of Israel. In our opening text Nehemiah asks for prosperity: And let Your servant prosper this day, I pray, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man, but he is not asking for personal prosperity but rather he desires to be prosperous in the commodity of mercy. What Nehemiah is referring to is that after hearing all this bad news he is going to have to go and do his duty of serving the king,;a bad attitude is not going to serve him well in front of a king that does not like bad news. So he asks the Lord of Mercy for mercy when he goes before the king, knowing that he is not going to be able to be the usual cheerful servant that the king is used to. Nehemiah 2:1-2 “...I took the wine and gave it to the king. Now I had never been sad in his presence before. Therefore the king said to me, ‘Why is your face sad, since you are not sick? This is nothing but sorrow of heart.’ So I became dreadfully afraid.” Obviously , the king kept a wide eye upon all his servants and immediately recognized that something was wrong with Nehemiah, not that he was so much concerned about his personal problems as much as he was probably suspicious of those around him when they were not behaving normally, that is probably why Nehemiah became dreadfully afraid. He could have been accused of plotting anything against the king and executed right on the spot, but he had prayed to the God of Mercy for mercy. Nehemiah 2:3 “And said to the king, ‘May the king live forever! Why should my face not be sad, when the city, the place of my father’s tombs, lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire?’” I am pretty sure that the king kept track of all that was going on under his palace and knew that Nehemiah had received foreign visitors, and knew of the bad news that they brought to Nehemiah, so that once he heard Nehemiah’s explanation his suspicion abated. Nehemiah 2:4-5 “Then the king said to me, ‘What do you request?’ So I prayed to the God of heaven. And I said to the king, ‘If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, I ask that you send me to Judah, to the city of my father’s tombs, that I may rebuild it.’” What an amazing story, Nehemiah goes from a situation of been in dreadful fear for his life, to asking for the deliverance of an entire nation in the course of one verse; one can only learn that, from being in the presence of the God of Mercy, for those who truly fear the Lord are also made aware of His great power to impart the blessings of mercy. Notice how Nehemiah says that before he answered the king he prayed to the God of heaven, he probably said to himself, What should I ask for Lord? The answer was what he truly desired in his heart and what he had been praying for: Restitution, for that is what mercy does! In those days when a king asked one of his subjects for a request it was a big deal, for a king could truly make somebody extremely prosperous, but Nehemiah had not being praying for personal prosperity, he had been praying for mercy and restoration for his people. Imagine the surprise that the king had when the request that Nehemiah made was not a request for personal gain, but made on behalf of a vanquished nation. We are told that the queen was sitting next to the king when the request was made, almost like the king looked at the queen and then asked Nehemiah, how long are you going to be gone? If there is one thing that a king understands is the level of devotion that the subjects to his kingdom demonstrate, now he understood what it was that made Nehemiah such a faithful servant to his kingdom. Nehemiah truly valued the security that a well run government offered its citizens. That is why we are commanded to pray for those in authority, for if we understand how the physical authorities function, and how they are suppose to function, and have a healthy respect for the process of governing even under an imperfect human government, then we can live and minister in the house of God, the church, in awed, holy fear and respect for a perfect Sovereign God who governs justly. Nehemiah 13:30-31 “Thus I cleansed them of everything pagan. I also assigned duties to the priests and the Levites, each to his service, and to bringing the wood of offering and the firstfruits at appointed times. Remember me, O my God, for good!” If a government is going to run properly it must rid itself of bias and corruption, a corrupt government will drown itself in its corruption. Nehemiah understood how the principle of corruption could bring down the human government, and he learned that in order for the house of God to be governed well, it also had to be rid of the bias and corruption that paganism brings into the house of God, for that is what eventually leads the contaminated worshipers into bondage. Paganism is to the church what corruption is to the government. And I venture to say that if a nation that was founded on Judeo Christian values, is now under a corrupt government, it is as a direct result of the paganism that contaminates the churches that exist within that nation that are supposed to promote biblical values instead of the human paganism that fosters and tolerates corruption. Think of that, the condition of the church is reflected by the condition of the government that rules over the nation where those churches minister. Makes you wonder, doesn’t? If we want to rid our governments of corruption, then we need to rid ourselves of paganism! It could be just as simple as that. Back to Other Teachings

  • SPIRITUAL JOY | HoFM

Top of Page THE DELIVERANCE MINISTRY SPIRITUAL JOY Psalm 16:11 “You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Spiritual joy comes as the direct result of spiritual life, you cannot separate them, where there is no spiritual life there is no spiritual joy. We maybe very happy due to our position in life, but our position in life is not the source for spiritual joy, for if our position in life changes for the worse, then our reason for happiness is removed. Not so with spiritual joy, once you have it you can never lose it. For our joy is based on the gift of eternal life, and God’s gifts are irrevocable. Romans 11:29 “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” In the day of Pentecost Peter began to preach to the multitudes who had gathered around the disciples after a tornado, a rushing mighty wind, had settled over and filled the house where they were praying. Peter told the crowd that they were witnessing that which the prophet Joel had prophesied about as being the mission statement of the newly born church of our Lord Jesus Christ; and this is what Peter told them: Acts 2:22-25 “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know—Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; whom God raised up, having loosed (destroy or abolished) the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.” Peter gets right to the point and tells the multitudes that the Jesus that they’ve crucified and killed, is the very One whom God had appointed to destroy the pains of death itself, for Peter tells them that it is impossible for death to keep hold of the Author and Sustainer of Life. Then the very next Scripture that he quotes to them is from Psalm 16, our opening text; Peter tells them that when David wrote Psalm 16 he was not speaking about himself, but about Israel’s future Messiah, and plainly tells them that the fulfillment of David’s prophecy has been accomplished by the resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth from the dead. Acts 2:27 “For You will not leave my soul in Hades, nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.” Psalm 16:10 “For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.” The point that Peter is trying to make to them is that death has been conquered by Jesus going to the cross, and that the path or way for eternal life had been made known to man, and that is the very reason why we have joy. Acts 2:28 “You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of joy in Your presence.” Psalm 118:14-15 “The Lord is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation. The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous; the right hand of the Lord (Jesus) does valiantly.” Psalm 118 is the center chapter of the Bible; it is preceded by the shortest chapter in the Bible and it is followed by the longest chapter in the Bible, I guess that we can call it the long and the short of it. The center verses of chapter 118 and of the Bible itself, speaks of how the Lord has become our salvation and how that is our reason for rejoicing. Although I called it Spiritual Joy it is very much physically present within all true believers. The reason why I called it spiritual is because this joy is independent of whatever our physical situation might be. I also stated the this joy is a gift from God and that His gifts are irrevocable. Let me enumerate a few reasons as to why we should all be rejoicing in this joy that emanates from our born again spirit and permeates every fiber of our souls. Psalm 118:1 “Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” He is good! We know that, for He saved us from all our sins, but let us remember also that His mercy towards us is everlasting. In the letter to the Hebrews we are told that by two immutable things God established His covenant with us: Number one is that the God who cannot lie swore on an oath, number two, that He would not change His mind. This is very important, for from our human perspective we make commitments that are based on our present circumstances, and when those circumstances change, we sometimes find it reasonable to change our minds about our original commitment. We are tempted within our human nature to believe that God changes His mind about our salvation when the circumstances warrant it, but that way of thinking is not within God’s nature, and He wanted us to know that. Hebrews 6:18 “That by two immutable (unchangeable) things, in which it is impossible for God to lie…” Hebrews 7:21 “But He (Jesus) became a priest with an oath when God said to Him: ‘The Lord has sworn and will not change His mind: You are a priest forever.’” NIV So that our salvation is not dependent on our present or future situations, but rather in the immutability of the oath of the God who does not lie and who swore that He would not change His mind about our salvation that was entrusted to the Priesthood of Jesus. Now that is the headspring of the living waters of the well of salvation and the reason for our unshakable joy. Psalm 118:5-6 “I called on the Lord in distress; the Lord answered me and set me in a broad place. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” So, what happens if in our daily walk we fall, falter, or fail? They that call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, delivered into a broad place! What if I come under demonic attack? The Lord is on my side and will always be on my side. He promised and said that He would not change His mind, so therefore we have no fear, there is nothing that man can do to us in regards to our salvation. Now there is another reason for joy. Psalm 118:7 “The Lord is for me among those who help me; Therefore I shall see my desire on those who hate me.” The Lord is our vindication and our source of joy, for we know that while in this world we will have tribulations that are brought about by our enemies. But God is our present help in time of need and we know that He can be fully trusted. Psalm 118:17 “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” What greater joy can a person have than being able to say with such great confidence, I am not going to die, I am going to live, and I will testify about God’s faithfulness. And here is the main reason why we can rejoice! Psalm 118:18 “The Lord has chastened me severely, but He has not given me over to death.” It is true that the Lord is our Father and as such He will chasten us, for we are not illegitimate children, BUT HE WILL NEVER DISOWN US! It is no wonder that there is so much praise and joy as the Psalm comes to a close: Psalm 118:28-29 “You are my God, and I will praise You; You are my God, I will exalt You. Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” How can we not love a God that loves us so much? How can we not rejoice when we have a merciful God like Him for our Father? At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore! Back to Deliverance Ministry

  • THE LORD IS RIGHTEOUS, GRACIOUS, AND NEA | HoFM

OTHER TEACHINGS THE LORD IS RIGHTEOUS, GRACIOUS, AND NEAR Psalm 145:17-18 “The Lord is righteous in all His ways, gracious in all His works. The Lord is near to all who call u pon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.” King David begins Psalm 145 with a shout of praise to God. It is interesting that David addresses Him as my God, O King; let’s take a look at how David begins this Psalm of adoration. Psalm 145:1 “I will extol (praise) You, my God, O King; and I will bless Your name forever and ever.” It takes a king to understand the difficulties of fairly and justly ruling over a kingdom. This Psalm can be read from the perspective of a testimonial that David, as a human king who understood the difficulties of ruling and reigning over flawed humans, bestowed upon our God the Creator, who is also the Great ruling King over all mankind. In our opening text, David makes three key points that underline the qualities with which God rules as King over His creation. First David says of God’s rule: The Lord is righteous in all His ways. Coming from any of us, that statement would not carry as much weight as it does coming from an earthly king who ruled over God’s people for forty years. If you have ever been in a position of leadership, you know how difficult it is to make decisions that affect a group of people and really say to yourself that such decision would be accepted as the perfect choice by everyone involved. As any true leader will tell you, you can’t please everyone, as I’m sure David knew that very well, but yet He says of God our King, that He is righteous in all His ways. Why is this fact so important, that God’s rule is always perfect? Doubt is the opposite of faith, and without faith it is impossible to please God, so that if we are doubting the righteousness of God on any situation that we face, we put ourselves at a disadvantage, and by doing so we forfeit the blessings that are offered to us within His kingdom. Psalm 145:5 “I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and on (the words of) Your wondrous works.” Meditating is the process of slowly ingesting and digesting information, in David’s case he was meditating not only on what God had promised him, but also in what God had already accomplished in his life as well. In the early struggles of my walk by faith journey, I remember at times feeling abandoned by the Lord just because certain things did not work out the way that I expected them to work out, and I remember the words of encouragement that Jesus would always send my way, I did not bring you out this far just to let you go! Psalm 145:19 “He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them.” I soon realized that in our walk of faith we have to learn how to walk in what the Bible calls the fear of the Lord before He will hear our cry for help, in other words we have to learn how to respect the way that His kingdom operates, which is by faith. Oh, the innocence of those times! One of my first lessons in hearing from the Lord occurred as I was driving from the Orange County area in California where I lived at the time, to the San Fernando Valley area to get pay from my labor as a painting contractor, for that was where the office was located that I had done the work for. Immediately as I started driving towards the office I felt the Lord impressing on me that I was to go someplace and pray after I left the office, so when I picked up the check I said to the Lord, where do you want me to go and pray Lord? Of course I heard nothing back, but since I was sure He had spoken to me earlier, I proceeded through a mountain road down to the coast where the Malibu area is located, for I figured that the mountain or the beach would be a good place to stop and pray. I still felt nothing, so I continued down the coast to the South Bay area of Los Angeles hoping to hear from the Lord as to where I was supposed to stop and pray, about two hours had elapsed and nothing, the church that we attended was in the port area of Los Angeles so I thought that God wanted me to go to the church and pray there, so that was where I headed, when I got over there, the Christian school was having an event in the auditorium, so praying there was out of the question. As I walked through the parking lot to get in my car and finally drive home, someone flagged me down, a church member and his wife had just gotten real bad news and asked me if I would pray with them over the situation that they were facing. I told them of my ordeal just to find out where I was supposed to go and pray, and it encouraged them so much that God had sent someone to pray for them before they even got the bad news, that their faith was made strong enough to overcome their situation. I realized there and then that God always has a perfect plan for everything that He does, and that all that is required of us is to remain faithful, for if we do not give up, we will not only have the victory over whatever situation we are facing, but in time we will understand how perfect and marvelous God’s ways are. Psalm 145:6 “Men shall speak (as I just did) of the might of Your awesome acts, and I will declare Your greatness.” I learned then, and continue to learn now, that the Lord is righteous in all His ways, whether I understand them or not, after all it is said and done the fact that the Lord is righteous in all His ways will be revealed to all the saints and will be acknowledged by them. Psalm 145:10 “All Your works shall praise You, O Lord, and Your saints shall bless You.” Secondly, David said about God’s rule that the Lord is: Gracious in all His works! Psalm 97:2 “Clouds and darkness surrounds Him; Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.” All the works of God are perfect, and since we forfeited our perfection when Adam sinned, the justice of God has to be satisfied, that is why Jesus had to die on the cross for our sins, to satisfy the righteous demands of justice. So that all of the works of God on behalf of mankind are all founded on His grace, as David also acknowledged. Psalm 145:8-9 “The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in mercy. The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.” In Bible days a king ruled supreme, the words that came out of his mouth were the law, anyone who trespassed against the king’s edicts faced sure death unless the king pardoned their transgression by offering them his mercy. David understood the principles of mercy, because from his ruling position he also understood that the righteousness of God required perfection, something that no human had, that is also why the Messiah had to be all human and all perfect. Thirdly, David said about God’s rule that: The Lord is near to all who call on Him! Imagine that, in the natural, the more responsibility that a person in leadership has the more difficult it is for people to get near them, for their time becomes that much more valuable, so that we usually have to deal with the underlings of those who exercise great authority, but not so with our King, He can meet alone with everyone of His subjects at the same time and in different places, because our King is also God. Psalm 145:13 “Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures throughout all generations.” And unlike our present world system where the lower that we are in the societal spectrum, the more difficult it is for us to reach those who are in authority, with our Eternal King is the opposite. Psalm 145:14 “The Lord upholds all who fall, and raises up all who are bowed down.” No wonder David was praising God with such great exuberance, for what he is saying in this Psalm is that there is no god like our God. Psalm 145:3 “Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable (beyond our understanding).” So that it is always by faith; our righteousness comes by faith in His Word, our dealings with Him are always based on our faith of His gracious works toward us, and by faith we know that He is always near to us, for we know that He will never leave us nor forsake us. And that’s the truth, so let us call upon Him in truth, for He hears us. Back to Other Teachings

  • O JERUSALEM, JERUSALEM! | HoFM

Top of Page END TIMES TEACHING O JERUSALEM, JERUSALEM! Luke 13:34 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing!” Jerusalem is the city of the Great King, and as such, she represents the dwelling place of all those who make Jesus their King. Matthew 5:35 “...Nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.” Jesus is lamenting the fact that those who dwell in His city and are under His protection from the enemy, do not take heed to His warnings and run to Him in the face of danger, just as when a hen makes a warning sound and her chicks run under her covering for protection. What is it that makes men unwilling to run to God in times of danger? Many do not know God’s lovingkindness and compassion well enough, so they fear Him, others do not trust God enough to run to Him in their hour of need, while others do not think that God cares for them, so they say to themselves, why bother. 1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” Is no wonder that the enemy uses fear to try and scare away from God those who are not really sure of God’s unconditional love for them, once the devil gets them away from God’s protection they become easy prey. I believe that this kind of fear will be the greatest factor that will be at play at the soon return of Jesus, when He comes to take us to be with Him in the clouds, while He judges those left back here on the earth. When the dreadful signs appear in the sky that His return is imminent, I fear that many believers will not see Jesus as coming to rescue them, but rather to judge them, due to the fact that they have not been made perfect in God’s love, you can get so embroiled on religious traditions and practices, that you forget what real Christianity is all about. I know that I harp on this a lot, but I truly believe that so many Christians in this present generation have been sold a bill of goods that does not measure up to what the Scriptures really teach about what is going to happen at Jesus’ return. For years I believed that the rapture would be an event that would happen instantly and without warning, for that was how many Christian movies about the rapture portrayed it, and the endless preachings that nobody knew the day nor the hour, so why bother to look for His return. 1 Thessalonians 5:2-6 “For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, ‘Peace and safety!’ then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.” Notice the stark contrast that Paul creates between light and darkness, and between those who know what the coming events entails and between those who do not know. Those of us who believe, have the Scriptures, that is why Paul tells us that we (should) know perfectly that Jesus’ return will catch the unbelievers by surprise, but then he says: but you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. The reason why it should not overtake us as a thief is because we are children of light, we have the Scriptures to enlighten us, and then he underscores what the Scriptures teach about Jesus’ return: but let us watch and be sober, watch for what you may ask? His return of course. Luke 21:27 “Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.” Now here is the key to what I am harping about; when Jesus appears in the cloud everybody will see Him, believers as well as unbelievers, what Paul is trying to teach us has more to do with how we are going to react when we see Him, will we see Him as a judge or as a savior. No doubt the world will be surprised when He appears, for they will see Him as a judge coming to judge them, and they are not, and have not been looking forward to that, however, we should see Him as a Savior coming to rescue us, for we have been anxiously awaiting for His return. But what if you have been told for years and years, as I was, that nobody knows about His return, so don’t bother with it, how will you react then, when you see Him in the cloud and all those people around you are running to the bomb shelters, will you run with them to get away from Him? Or will you with a firm and secure voice tell those around you what the Scriptures declare, that they that call upon the name of the Lord will be saved? Acts 2:19-21 “I will show wonders in heaven above and signs in the earth beneath: blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turn into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” In Luke 21:26 Jesus tells us that men’s heart will be failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken, which is what we see occurring in the Scripture that we just quoted from in the book of Acts. In the midst of the heavens and the earth becoming unglued, will you be able to say with complete assurance to those around you that, that is your Jesus coming in the cloud to take you away from all this chaos? And will you also be able to tell them what the Scriptures declare, that if they call upon the name of the Lord that they too shall be saved? That will very much depend on whether deep within your heart His perfect love for you, has casted out all fears, and also as to whether you have a reasonable understanding of what Scriptures teach will happen at His return. I always thank God for His grace and mercy that makes up for all that we do not know or understand, for He truly loves us, but as children of the Light we have an obligation to receive the enlightenment of His truth, if for nothing else, that we may be of help to those around us when that glorious day finally appears. O Jerusalem, Jerusalem...How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing!” Remember our opening Scripture? Well, Jerusalem plays a very key role in the end time fulfillment of prophecy as it pertains to the return of Jesus to the earth, if we understand this next Scripture it will help us even more to be ready and to know that His return is imminent. Zechariah 12:2-3 “Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.” The Scriptures clearly indicate that Judah in general, present day Israel, and Jerusalem in particular, will be the focus point that will initiate the return of the Lord to the earth. Many Scriptures point to an invasion of the land of Judah by a confederacy of nations to the north of Israel, to remove Jerusalem from been the capitol of Israel will be their main objective, while the extermination of the Jewish nation will be their overall goal. Zechariah 12:9 “It shall be in that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.” Before God’s final judgment against humanity begins, He will show Himself Holy to the nations of the world, that means that He will perform a miraculous deliverance of behalf of the city of Jerusalem, by supernaturally destroying all the nations that attacked Jerusalem. We will witness that invasion, and it will be a sign to us to get ready, for when Jesus reveals Himself to destroy those invading nations, it will also be the time when He reveals Himself to all who want to be taken out of this world. The timing of the invasion of the land of Israel by a northern confederacy may come as a surprise to us, but not the outcome, for when that invasion takes place, we are pretty much done here on the earth. 1 Thessalonians 5:8-9 “But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Back to End Times Teachings

  • DOCTRINES OF MEN | HoFM

Top of Page THE DELIVERANCE MINISTRY DOCTRINES OF MEN Colossians 2:21-23 “Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle, which all concern things which perish with the using—according to the commandments and doctrines of men? These things indeed have an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed religion, false humility, and neglect of the body, but are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh” The goal of faith in us believers, is to rid our souls of those things that keep us from walking in the freedom of the Spirit of God that dwells in us who are saved, now remember that the word for salvation can also be translated deliverance in the New Testament. 1 Peter 1:9 “Receiving the end (goal) of your faith—the salvation of (deliverance = to get rid of the things that hinder) your souls.” One of the most powerful tools that the enemy uses to keep humans in bondage is religious traditions that emanate from men made doctrines. 2 Corinthians 3:17 “Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” So that many believers wrongly think that by abiding in religious traditions that stifle the soul and kept it from walking in God’s freedom, that they are doing the will of God, because that is what they have been taught by the doctrines of men. But this is what our Lord says: Galatians 5:1 “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” NIV Think back to when we first got saved and how many times our actions were governed by rules that in many cases had nothing to do with biblical principles, but that we somehow thought that by following those rules, that we were doing the right thing in God’s eyes, only to find out later that many of those rules were not even based on the Bible, while others were a clear misrepresentation of true Christian doctrine. As our opening text revealed to us they all had to do with, Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle. In our struggle with doing the right thing, we must honestly ask ourselves this question: What is the right thing that we are to do? May I be bold enough and tell you what the right thing to do is: If we want to be right, we should always do the spiritual thing! Colossians 3:1 “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.” If you look at the Scriptures that deals with the freedom that we enjoy in the grace of God, you will find warnings attached to many of them, compelling us not to abuse our freedom in Christ for selfish desires. 1 Peter 2:16 “As free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice (wickedness), but as bondservants of God.” If we do the spiritual thing, defined as seeking those things which are above, then our own self-interests will not be involved, for then our actions will be governed by the desires of Christ who sits at the right hand of God, and the motives behind our actions will always be pure. And we need to keep in mind that doing the spiritual thing will always be in conflict with men made doctrines. Why is that? 1 Timothy 4:1 “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons.” Men made doctrines are the doctrines of demons, for they all cater to men’s own selfish desires, and not the desires of Christ for men. Christ’s desire for men is that we walk in the liberty of His Spirit, free from guilt, shame, and condemnation. Demonic doctrines have as their goal to keep men under the bondage of sin, bound by the chains of fear, and under the heavy load of guilt, shame, and condemnation. How do these men made doctrines affect the churches of today of which we are a part of? Colossians 2:1 “For I want you to know what a great conflict (struggle) I have for you and those in Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh.” Why did Paul struggle so much with the faith of the Colossian and Laodicea churches? I believe that he feared that their men made traditions would keep them from realizing their full potential in Christ Jesus. Colossians 2:2 “That their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ.” What kind of men made doctrines were there among them that caused the apostle Paul so much consternation? Revelation 3:14-16 “And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: I know your works, that your are neither cold not hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.’” Many years after Paul died we see his fears confirmed in the Lord’s rebuke against the Laodicea church of John’s day, which tragically is the same condition that afflicts many of the churches of today, many of these churches will be left behind when the rapture takes place. Why did the Lord vomit them out? Revelation 3:17 “Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.” The goal of men made doctrines is to remove men’s need of God and to replace it with the religious traditions that satisfies men’s selfish needs. The Laodicea church was so deceived that they came to the point where they believed that they had no need of God, for they believed that they had their own religious traditions to prop them up. It cannot get any more demonic than that, for it was Lucifer himself who said in his heart that he would exalt his throne above the stars of God, and that he would be like the Most High, and then he was promptly cast down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the pit. Isaiah 14:12-15 But the greatest damage that men made doctrines perpetrate against the churches, besides blinding them to their true spiritual condition, is that it keeps them from receiving the revelation of God’s many hidden treasures of wisdom and knowledge. That is why so many believers today have problems understanding the Word of God when they read it. Colossians 2:3 “(Both of the Father and of Christ) In whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Since the doctrines of men are the doctrines of demons, and since the desire of demons is to be worshiped through the idols that they represent, then, those who follow men made doctrines practice idolatry, that is they become one with the idols that they worship, or pay homage to at their appointed feasts. Psalm 135:15-18 “The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. They have mouths, but they do not speak; eyes they have, but they do not see; they have ears, but they do not hear; nor is there any breath in their mouths. Those who make them are like them; so is everyone who trust in them.” How can Christians do the spiritual thing if their spiritual eyes cannot see and their spiritual ears cannot hear? In His rebuke to the Laodicea church, Jesus told them that they were blind and then counseled them to buy from Him gold refined in the fire. It is clear that the sin of the Laodicea church is the sin of idolatry, and it is what causes them to become poor, blind and naked like the very idols that they worshiped. Since the Laodicea church is prophesied to be present at the end of the church age along with the faithful Philadelphia church, and since we know that we are living in the last days of the church age, then it begs the question: Which church are we a part of? Is it possible for a believer to be a part of the Laodicea church and not know it? Colossians 2:8 “Beware lest anyone cheat (plunder you or take you captive) you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.” When Paul speaks about, according to the tradition of men, he is not referring to the traditions of unbelievers outside of the church, but to the traditions that have been introduced into the church, in many instances by so called believers masquerading as teachers of the truth, when in reality they were introducing the very basic principles of the world’s paganism into the church of Jesus Christ, unbeknown to many. And by doing so corrupting many within the church with the idolatry that brings about the spiritual blindness that is so prevalent among the churches of today. And that is what Paul was so fervently fighting against when he wrote to the Colossian church this epistle. 2 Corinthians 13:5 “Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified (do not stand the test).” The greatest protection that we have against deception is that the Spirit of the Living God dwells within us, and it is the Holy Spirit who testifies about Jesus in us, the real Jesus, so let us not resist the Holy Spirit’s prompting when He warns us about so called Christian traditions that have no foundation whatsoever in the Word of God. For if you resolve in your heart that you are going to stay true to His Word, no matter how much resistance comes your way from the worldly bunch that seeks harmony with this world. Then the Lord will begin to open your spiritual eyes, and make your ears attentive to His Word, so that the treasures of His great wisdom and knowledge, which He has made available for you, will become more real to you than anything that you have ever known. Colossians 1:27 “To them (you) God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Back to the Deliverance Ministry

Posted date: 10/12/23 ESTHER 9:1-5 KJV 9 Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar, on the thirteenth day of the same, when the king's commandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution, in the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have power over them, (though it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over them that hated them;) 2 The Jews gathered themselves together in their cities throughout all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, to lay hand on such as sought their hurt: and no man could withstand them; for the fear of them fell upon all people. 3 And all the rulers of the provinces, and the lieutenants, and the deputies, and officers of the king, helped the Jews; because the fear of Mordecai fell upon them. 4 For Mordecai was great in the king's house, and his fame went out throughout all the provinces: for this man Mordecai waxed greater and greater. 5 Thus the Jews smote all their enemies with the stroke of the sword, and slaughter, and destruction, and did what they would unto those that hated them.
