  • INTERCESSION | HoFM

Top of Page INTERCESSION Hebrews 7:25 “Therefore He is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” Intercession is not only needed, but is very much required for the proper function of everyday life as we know it. If it were not, then Jesus would not have to live always making intercession for us. What are the mysteries of intercession and why is it that it is so very much required? In this lesson we are going to try to unravel some of the mysteries related to intercession, in the hope that we can get some insight into this ministry that is so vital to our everyday lives, in the hope that it would encourage us to intercede on a daily basis. Matthew 6:9-10 “In this manner, therefore, pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.’” To understand intercession is to understand why the will of God is not being done on the earth as it is in heaven; we need to know that the authority to rule over the earthly realm was given to Adam, to man and his descendants, Satan usurped that authority from man through deception and introduced chaos into the earthly realm. Since that time there has always been a battle between good and evil here on the earth. Jesus came and destroyed Satan’s power to inflict chaos upon the earth and returned earthly authority back into the hands of godly man. Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Intercession is asking God to do His good will here on the earth on behalf, and for the good of all mankind. Since the authority has been returned back to us, when we see chaos ruling, it is because someone is failing to ask God to intervene in that situation. We may ask, why doesn’t God remove the chaos and bring to us His peace? Since God gave authority to man to rule over the earthly realm, God will not interfere into the affairs of man uninvited. That is what intercession is pure and simple, recognizing that we fail due to our fallen nature, to bring the goodness of God by ourselves into the earthly realm. We need His help! Luke 18:1 “Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart.” In the parable that followed Jesus spoke about a widow that was not strong enough to take on her adversary by herself. The widow in the parable typifies mankind in our fallen human nature. The judge in the parable did not care about her need for justice, but due to her importunity, a type for consistency in prayer, the judge granted the widow her request. Then Jesus adds: Luke 18:7 “And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? Men are always to pray and not lose heart: This brings us to the first aspect of intercession. Intercession is a Battle: A spiritual battle that requires a battle plan. Once we understand that God will not intervene in human affairs unless we ask Him to, and we know that it is His will, not ours, that He wants to bring into the mix, then we need to know what His will is in regards to the situation that we are asking His intervention for, so that we can pray in accordance with His will for that situation. If we do not, then the chaos will continue, for He aims for His will to be done not ours. Battle on behalf of mankind: God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 Our daily intercession should follow, as in regards to our prayers on behalf of mankind, first the family and the family structure. 1 Timothy 5:8 “But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” These are pretty strong words that Paul speaks, that is because God is after the family structure; the family that prays together not only stays together but has a powerful influence in all that surrounds them. Is called the power of agreement as in a married couple interceding together on behalf of their entire families that became connected to one another through them entering into holy matrimony. That is why the institution of marriage is under such a heavy attack right now from those who want to redefine it. Their demonic aim is to corrupt the power of this marital institution to intercede together on behalf of both families by introducing dividing controversies into the family unit, thereby their power of intercession is neutralized. So that intercession should be made first on behalf of the household and beginning with the head of the household. Daily intercession should be made on behalf of parents, grand parents, children, grandchildren , great grandchildren , our siblings, their siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and for the families that they are interconnected with as well. God will use your prayer for some distant family member that you do not even know to save them from hell; remember that God is not willing that any of them should perish and be lost forever, but He will not act on their behalf by imposing His own will upon them unless someone prays for their salvation, which is God’s will for them. Many years ago, one of my nephews found himself, after going forward on an altar call, in front of an evangelist that told him that the reason he had answered the call was because his uncle was praying for him. This blew his mind for he knew that I was the only saved uncle that he had, he called us to ask, and we told him, yes we pray daily for our nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles and cousins. This was a confirmation to us way back then, that God always hears our prayers. 1 Timothy 2:1-4 “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” Secondly, we need to pray for the men and women that are part of the governmental structures that rule society, both secular and religious institutions. So that we need to pray on a daily basis for the churches and the elders of the churches, for the schools, the principles, the teachers, those who prepare the curriculum that the teachers teach, we are not to leave any of that to the will of the enemy. The fruit of the womb is His reward, let our children be invested with the knowledge of the truth, after all they belong to the God of Truth. Let us pray for the lawmakers and those who are in charge of executing the laws that the legislators pass. Let us pray for the judges that rule on what laws are just and which are not. Our prayer on their behalf should be based on what is God’s best for those over whom they rule. If the rules that they pass and enforce go against what is God’s best for the people they have rule over, then our intercession for them will be for God’s conviction of what is right and wrong to be revealed to them. If God opens their eyes to see the evil that their ruling is bringing upon the people, then hopefully they will repent and do the right thing on behalf of those over whom they have the power to rule. 3 John 2 “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” Thirdly we need so seek our own personal time of intimacy with Jesus. True intercession is born out of a heart that has an intimate relationship with the heart of Jesus. When His heart becomes one with our heart, our intercession for those things which touch His heart will be the more powerful; when our desire becomes one with His desire, there is a powerful and unstoppable force that is released as we become one with Him in His will for us. Ephesians 4:3 “Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” Fourthly there is a place in the heavenly realm where those whose hearts have touched Jesus’ heart meet. This is a real place, more real than any reality that we’ve ever experienced here on earth. You will find people there whose prayer originates from many distant lands, somehow they form a spiritual connection and come together in the bond of peace, while in their efforts to ascend into the hill of the Lord and touch the heart of God. They begin their journey with a simple desire for interceding on behalf of what is in the heart of Jesus at that time. Somehow they all interconnect, they arrived into what is called the unity of the Spirit, when suddenly the Holy Spirit takes them to the base of what is called the hill of the Lord. Once there, they are able to commune one with another in complete trust, being aware of the other intercessors humanity and purpose. You can hear their thoughts and communicate your feelings to them through the same process. To reach the top of the hill of the Lord is the goal, so they press tightly together with one another in order to attain the purpose for which their Lord brought them there. Not all make it to the top at first, for it is a process. And it is that process the reason why I am sharing this aspect of intercession with you right now. Psalm 24:3-4 “Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully.” This Psalm is a Messianic Psalm, meaning that it applies to Jesus, since Jesus is the only perfect human who could fulfilled the requirements stated in the Psalm. But when the intercessors heart becomes one with Jesus’ heart, a pure heart, that is when the intercessor is brought into the base of the hill of the Lord and ascend into the desires of God’s heart. In order for this pureness of heart to take effect, there has to be a cleanness of hands. Idolatries are the issue here, idolatry is the worship of a substitute god, usually the worship of self, or selfish ambitions, all of which defiles the human heart. We can pray the will of God and be in an idolatrous condition, but we can never pray the heart of God in such an idolatrous state, for idolatry is what keeps us from knowing His heart. Hence the ultimate goal of an intercessor should be to rid themselves of all traces of idolatry within their hearts in order to attained the heart of God. You have to begin with the truth, by being true to yourself, truth is the only thing that can make you free. The word sworn, as in sworn deceitfully, literally means to seven oneself, so that it has to do with a custom or ritual, some practice that takes place on regular intervals, a custom that is based on the perversion of the truth, that in reality is idolatry. Such traditional practices will be the hardest of all things to get rid of in your Christian life, because such practices are deeply embedded into modern day Christian liturgy. Truth leads us into the will of God, which in turn leads us into the truth of the purpose of God, which in turn takes us into the very heart of God. John 12:32 “And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.” If the goal of intercession is to bring to the earth what is God’s will in heaven, so that God’s purpose for the inhabitants of the earth can be accomplished, and if the best way to accomplish that ministry is to have the very heart of God within our hearts, is it not then necessary that Jesus be lifted up from the earth? You see, if we are proclaiming Jesus’ heart to the world, how can we do so effectively if we ourselves are soiled with the very earthly customs that profane His holy name, since we still have regard for those customs and patronized them? The devil is no match for the name of Jesus, all a believer has to do is to proclaim that precious name of Jesus, and no matter what his circumstances are, Jesus will answer him. But if we are swearing deceitfully by profaning the name that is above every name, by equating His holy name with some ancient pagan festival festering with idolatry, then the devil will not fear those who profane Jesus’ holy name, for by doing so they have placed themselves into the bottom of the heap of rubbish that hell itself is built on. John 12:26 “If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.” Who may ascend the hill of the Lord? The true servants that follow Jesus, for those who follow Jesus are with Jesus where He is, and Jesus is on the top of the hill of the Lord. What a privilege it is to make intercession on behalf of the saints in the very presence of His Majesty on High. More teachings found here: Deliverance Ministry End Times Teachings Other Teachings

  • THE RESURRECTION | HoFM

Top of Page THE RESURRECTION: From the Old Testament Perspective Job 19: 25-27 “For I know that my Redeemer lives, and He shall stand at last on the earth; and after my skin is destroyed, this I know, that in my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see for myself and my eyes shall behold, and not another.” I wonder how many of you have heard, as I have, that the teaching about the resurrection the dead is something that is unique to the New Testament. In countless historical TV programs that deal with the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament), we hear all the time that the devil is a creation of the New Testament writers and that the resurrection from the dead is something that is unique to the Christian Bible. I guess they overlooked the book of Job somehow. First Job says that his Redeemer lives, we could say that he is referring to God in heaven, but then Job adds that his Redeemer shall stand at last on the earth. Here Job is implying a resurrection from the dead, on the earth, at the end of times. Then Job goes on to say that after my skin is destroyed, meaning the physical deterioration of his body after his death, he says, this I know, meaning this is not just some conjecture on his part, that in my flesh I shall see God. If his body is destroyed how could he possibly see God in his flesh unless he Job, is physically resurrected from the dead. But wait there is more; whom I shall see for myself and my eyes shall behold, and not another. Job says it will not be in his spirit that he will witness that, but in his flesh, I myself he says and not another. So that in the oldest book of the Old Testament we find the main character testifying to the physical resurrection from the dead at the end of times, and boldly declaring that he, Job himself, will be part of that glorious event. Genesis 22:8, 13 “And Abraham said, ‘My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering’...Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in the thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son.” Genesis 22 begins with the words, God tested Abraham. What was Abraham being tested for? God tells Abraham to take his son, the son whom you love, to a certain place and there kill him and offer him as a burnt offering to God. When Isaac astutely realized that the only thing missing for the burnt offering was the lamb, he asked his father Abraham, where is the lamb for the sacrifice, to which Abraham responded, God will provide for Himself the lamb, even though he knew that it was his son Isaac that he was going up to sacrifice. Romans 4:20-21 “He (Abraham) did not waiver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He (God) had promised He was able to perform.” There is no other conclusion but that what Abraham was being tested for was none other than his faith in the physical resurrection from the dead. Abraham had to cross a threshold in his heart that if he killed the son of promise that God had given to him, that God would have no other choice but to raise Isaac from the dead, in order to fulfill His promise to Abraham that through Isaac all the nations would be blessed. John 8:56 “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” When did Abraham see Jesus’ day? When he lifted (up) his eyes and looked. By faith Abraham saw the cross and rejoiced, before he saw the ram that was caught in the thicket by its horns. So that not only did Job believed and testified to the resurrection from the dead, but we see also that faith in the physical resurrection from the dead was an essential part of God’s covenant with Abraham. And is all written there for us in the Old Testament. How could they miss it? What were they thinking? Isaiah 26:19 “Your dead shall live; together with my dead body they shall arise. Awake and sing, you who dwell in the dust; for your dew is like the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.” Isaiah gives us an even more amazing insight into the physical resurrection from the dead in the verse above. In the original Hebrew the three words used for “dead” are all different and have different meanings associated with them that gives us insight into what the prophet was trying to convey to us. Your dead shall live: The word translated dead at the beginning of the verse is according to Strong’s concordance # 4191 Muwth and it means To die and it refers to man, or body. So that when it says that your dead shall live is referring to the physically dead human bodies that will be resurrected at some point in the future. My dead body: The next word translated dead is according to Strong’s concordance # 5038 Nbelah and it means Carcass and it can be applied to a human or a bestial carcass, often collectively, meaning that in most instances it applies to both. The meaning of the context is very clear, My dead body is in reference to a sacrificial carcass that is in nature both human and animal, as in the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world, amazing! The earth shall cast out the dead: The last word translated dead is according to Strong’s concordance # 7496 Rapha’ and it means the dead or deceased in plural. It comes from the root word # 7495 Raphah and it means to mend, to cure, cause to heal, to make whole thoroughly. Oh what a beautiful picture of the resurrection from the dead we get from the prophet Isaiah. How one verse of Scripture, in the Old Testament mind you, can reveal so much, centuries before the actual resurrection of Jesus from the dead took place. Luke 17:37 “...Where there is a dead body (carcass), there the vultures will gather.” NIV Jesus seems to imply, according to what Isaiah wrote, that those rapture will be gathered together to His sacrificial body that was resurrected from the dead. Daniel 12:2 “And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contemp.” I close with Daniel’s version of the physical resurrection from the dead in the Old Testament that reveals that is not just the righteous that will be resurrected, but what the New Testament also teaches, that at some point all the unbelievers will also be resurrected and will go physically into everlasting contemp. Which brings us to the message of the resurrection; there is life after death, not just life, but physical life as well. Eventually all who die will be resurrected, can you imagine having immortality and having to spend eternity in reproach and contemp. Is there anything in this whisper of time that we have while here on earth, when compared to eternity, that is worth you having to spend eternity away from God’s comfort and love? I am not asking you to become religious, I’m just asking you to get right with Jesus. Make Jesus your savior, why don’t you make Jesus your Lord today, I can guarantee that you will never regret it, never, ever. • THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE | HoFM

Top of Page THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE Isaiah 6:5 “So I said: ‘Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in Let me explain what I call sound reasoning: midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.’” Probably the number one question that most people would like to ask God, if they ever had the chance in their lifetime to ask Him directly, would be this: Why Lord, did you let the serpent into the Garden? It is obvious that when the Lord revealed Himself to Isaiah, that question was probably the last thing on Isaiah’s mind, but yet the very nature of Isaiah’s condition, which caused him to say: woe is me, was due to the fact that the serpent was in the Garden to begin with, messing around and tempting Eve to get her and Adam into trouble. Which leads me to ask this question: Was there a necessity for the serpent to be in the Garden? Sound reasoning will tell us that there was, there had to be! Why else would a good God allowed it to be there for. Let me explain what I call sound reasoning: Matthew 10:29 “Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will.” We know that God is the Almighty, and that nothing happens, that happens, without His will or knowledge. So then we must conclude that there was a reason for the serpent to be there in the Garden, which brings us to our original question of why, what was the reason? I believe the answer to be, the phrase that I chose for the title of this lesson: The Human Experience. Let’s follow logic: Why would a God that has everything create something new? Or we could ask it another way; Why would a God that has everything create something different? If you think about it, we humans do not even exist in the same dimension that God indwells; God lives in an infinite eternity, which is spiritual, we live in a physical reality, a realm that is passing away. As a matter of fact, we humans are a total different breed from anything that God had ever created in the past, and as such, we were placed in a totally different environment that any of the other intelligent creatures that preceded us were ever placed. What make us different than any of the angelic creatures that preceded us, is our humanity, or what I call the human experience. What is the human experience? Genesis 3:5 “For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” You see, I believe that only God has the capacity to know evil without ever being touched or tempted by it. Even creatures that God created with great wisdom, like Lucifer, fell when enticed by the knowledge of evil itself, unlike God who can never be tempted by it. 1 John 1:5 “This is the message which we have herd from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.” God is totally and completely pure, inside and out, the only reason that He knows evil is because as God He knows everything. James 1:13 “Let no one say when he is tempted, ‘I am tempted by God’; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.” Did you get what the last two Scriptures are telling us? Its subtle, but in order for us to get it we have to look at it from the perspective of the human experience. Let us take a closer look at our last Scripture first. For God cannot be tempted by evil. Matthew 4:1 “Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.” Isn’t Jesus God? Of course He is! Is not the devil evil? Of course he is! So why was evil trying to do something that he is not allowed to do, like tempting God? The only reason that the devil was allowed to try and tempt Jesus, who is the Son of God, was the locality, the physical realm where the human experience is one of good and evil constantly. Let us look at our other Scripture that reveals to us the nature of God. In Him is no darkness at all. Matthew 27:45-46 “Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, ‘E’li, E’li, la-ma’ sa-bach’-tha-ni?’ that is, ‘My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?’” Here also we see how Jesus the Son of God is engulfed by darkness to the point that He becomes separated from God Himself who is light. So that darkness which is separation from God, as well as temptation by evil itself, are both human experiences that no other spiritual creatures can ever experience and survive without falling. No human can experience temptation and separation from God either and survive it, were it not for Jesus Christ, the Son of God in the flesh, who experienced temptation and separation from God in His physical body on our behalf without failing, and by the power of His holiness was able to overcome both, temptation and separation from God, and still raise up from the dead. So that what we see in the human experience is a process, we can call that process the gathering of information that takes place during our life long experience while here in this physical realm. So, back to our original question, why was the serpent In the Garden? Not only did James say that God cannot be tempted by evil, but he added that God Himself does not tempt anyone. If there is a flaw, and I’ll use that word loosely, with the spiritual creatures that God created first, the angels, is that they dwell in the same eternity that God indwells, so that when the third of the creatures that were tempted fell, their nature was changed immediately and forever, for they were cast into the realm of darkness, and at once became separated from God and unredeemable. And not only that, those angels who remained faithful to God still lack the ability to know evil experientially, for if they personally experience evil they themselves would be lost forever as well. So that the human race was created, I believe, to overcome what the angelic creatures could not, to be like God in the sense of knowing good and evil and yet, not loosing ourselves by being separated from God forever through the experience. So that by our experiencing the horrors of evil contrasted with the goodness of God, we would once and for all choose to renounce any and all knowledge of evil by recognizing that God and only God is good. All the holy angels know about the goodness of God, for they experience it daily as they cry out before Him day and night, Holy, Holy, Holy! But only humans can truly understand about the goodness of God within the contrast of good when compared against the utter darkness of evil that we have had to suffer and endure. Our physical bodies will one day die and return to the dust of the earth from where they were taken, but the experience, the information that was gathered while we were alive in our physical bodies is never lost. So, what happens to the information that was gathered through our human experience while we were here alive in the earth with our physical bodies? 2 Corinthians 5:10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” All the information that was gathered while in our human experience journey, has to be edited and formatted, made suitable for the new physical eternity that we will be a part of forever once we get our new eternal physical bodies. John 3:19 “And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” Not all humans will make it into eternal bliss with God, just like not all of the angels made it, but those of us who make it will have our abilities to fall into evil removed from us forever. Our experiences with the horrors of evil will make us a lot more appreciative of the goodness of God, and having our abilities to sin removed from us once and for all at the judgment seat of Christ, will be a greater cause for us to give God heart felt praise. Had there been no temptation in the Garden of Eden for Adam and Eve, the human race would still be in the age of innocence, as mere infants who could have never understood the true Majesty of our Loving Father, the great compassion of our God and Savior, and the true love that He has freely demonstrated towards us, His creation, who will one day will be truly able to appreciate Him in the fullness of all His goodness. Revelation 7:9-10 “After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the lamb!’” More teachings found here: Deliverance Ministry End Times Teachings Other Teachings

  • AS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH | HoFM

Top of Page AS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH Matthew 24:37 “But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” If there is a mortal enemy to man of whom man is not aware of, it would have to be Neglect; and if that enemy had a partner in crime, it would have to be Complacency; and if they were headlining a Hollywood movie the title would be The Twin Killers. Someone once said that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. After officiating at a gravesite funeral for a deceased person that I did not know, as I walked by the grave markers I wondered how many of those buried there had died before fulfilling what God had destined them to be while on this earth. I guess what prompted my query was the fact that there were only a handful of people there as they laid her to rest, and I did not have much of a clue as to the life history of the elderly person we had just buried. Out of all the funerals that I officiated, that particular one always reminds me of the rapture for some reason. For as I was walking by the many gravesites the Lord revealed to me the reality of how many of us while on this earth neglect our fiduciary duties to life and become complacent about our many responsibilities to the Creator. Matthew 24:38-39 “For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” In life we quickly learn that our actions always incur reactions, but the one lesson that it is harder to learn is that our inactions also have reactions, and usually they are unwanted negative reactions, but many a times we come to that realization just a little too late. Jesus makes very clear in His teachings that life is full of uncertainties. But the one area of life that I want to focus on today is in our responsibility before Him at His soon return. What does Jesus expect from us at His return? Matthew 25:14 “For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them.” In the parable of the talents Jesus is clearly teaching about the responsibilities of those who have been saved and gifted with God’s many goods and their having to give an accounting before the Master upon His return. In the parable Jesus puts the emphasis in the multiplication of the talents and not on how many talents each of the servants were given originally. For those who multiplied their talents received the same reward regardless of how many talents they started with. Matthew 25:21, 23 “His lord said to him (the one who had received five talents), ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord’...His lord said to him (the one who had received two talents), ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’” The only difference between the two is that the ones that were faithful are the ones that had been dead and were bodily resurrected at our Lord’s return, and the ones that have been faithful are the ones that are alive and rapture when our Lord returns, for they are still in the salvation process. But look at the fate of the one who failed to multiply, or at least increase the talent that he was given, for it was a horrible fate. Matthew 25:25-27 “‘And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours .’ But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest.’” Jesus uses currency as an example for the lives of those who are His, remember how the parable began? The master called his own servants and delivered his goods to them, so that Jesus is not dealing here with unbelievers, but rather He is dealing with the believers at His return. Now the word wicked that Jesus uses for the servant that failed the master when He called him you wicked and lazy servant, is the same that He used earlier in reference to a believer that failed to forgive. Matthew 18:32-34 “Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?’ And his master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due to him.” Who are the torturers? The demons of fear and torment. 1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” What was it that Jesus told us that the wicked servant first said to the master? And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. This may come as a shock to some, but not all believers will be rapture! They will all be saved but not all will be taken up to be with Jesus when He first returns, some believers, if not many, will be turned over to the tormenting demons that will be released during the first five months of the Wrath of God upon the earth. Psalm 78:49 “He unleashed against them his hot anger, his wrath, indignation and hostility—a band of destroying angels.” So that in both cases, the servant that refused to forgive as he had been forgiven and the one who feared being accountable to the Master, neither of them had been made perfect in love, so that fear and torment will be the catalysts that God uses to perfect them into the kingdom. Fear and Torment will drive Neglect and Complacency out of the believers that refuse to be perfected in love! What is it then that Jesus expects from us at His return? Matthew 25:13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.” What does it mean to watch? I think it has to do with expectation; what are your expectations of Jesus as He returns? Is He coming to save you, or is He coming to judge you? What will His return be like? If you are complacent and neglectful about someone’s imminent visit, it would seem that you really do not care much about them. Your attitude may be that of, Well if I am not home when they happen to come, too bad. If the house is a mess when they come, who cares. That type of attitude implies that you own the house and that He is only a visitor, but if you are a believer you need to realize that He owns you and that He has invested into your life the gift of His life. He is not coming back to sit down and chit chat with you, He is coming back to claim the rewards from the gifts that He has invested in you and in your life. Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Let me ask you this, if I may; Does your life transcend this life? Matthew 16:25 “For whosoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” What light am I suppose to shine? What does it mean to lose our lives for His sake? What is transcendence? Jesus invested His life into our lives so that our lives can transcend and become one with His life. And just like He gave up His natural life to obtain a higher physical/spiritual eternal life, so must we. There is no hope in this life of death outside of the resurrection from the dead into eternal physical and spiritual life. Now if the return of Christ completes the natural life that is totally surrendered to Him, a life that is dead to the things of this world and alive in the hope of the resurrection from the dead, then His return is the most important event in all of life, and just a hint that it may be nearer should cause us to focus more closely into His possible return in our day. What is the engine that drives you? What are the predominant thoughts that preoccupy your mind as you fall asleep every night? Do you think about those love ones that may not be ready when our Lord returns? Are you planning your strategy for when the skies turn dark and the unbelievers fear? Are you prepared to tell them that Jesus is coming and that if they call on His name they will be saved? Psalm 116:10 “I believed, therefore I spoke…” A light shines through us as the result of a fire that is burning within us. If the Lord is our passion, if His Word is our compass, and if we make our lives His life, living for that wonderful moment when He appears to take us away with Him that we may be like Him, then we have already transcended this present life and are more than ready to be rescued. John 21:15 “So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, ‘Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?’ He said to Him, ‘Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.’ He said to him, ‘Feed My lambs.’” The only thing outside of our preoccupation with His soon return, should be our preoccupation with feeding His sheep with the sincere milk of the Word of God, preparing them for our Lord’s soon return. Is not the grandeur of our destiny that we should be eager to attain, but rather, in the grandeur of His coming that we should be eager to not only participate, but also to prepare as many as we possible can to participate in it as well? 2 Corinthians 4:11 “For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.” More Teachings Found Here: Deliverance Ministry End Times Teachings Other Teachings

  • A SPIRIT OF DEEP SLEEP | HoFM

Top of Page A SPIRIT OF DEEP SLEEP HOVERS OVER AMERICA Isaiah 29:10 “For the Lord has poured out on you the spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes, namely, the prophets; and He has covered your heads, namely, the seers.” These are indeed difficult times for the faithful here in America, it does not take a political or economic expert to realize that our nation is in great trouble. Morally speaking it’s even worst, we are bitterly divided, and have lost our sense of direction, and it does not look as if it’s going to get better anytime soon. In our Scripture it declares that a spirit is the culprit, a spirit of deep sleep. Now within the context, Isaiah is speaking to Jerusalem, the city of David. But within the greater context, Isaiah’s prophecy can be applied to any great nation that has lost its moral compass. Is there any doubt about America’s greatness? Surely not. Is there any doubt that America has lost her sense of direction? Not from where I’m standing. In this chapter Isaiah is lamenting about the blindness that is caused by disobedience. When persons as well as nations betray the founding principles upon which they were called and/or built, they become blinded to their mission, and become bitterly divided within themselves. The question that I asked when I first read our Scripture, was basically this, what came first? The spirit of deep sleep that closed the eyes and covered the heads of the seers. Or was it the silence of the prophets and seers that allowed the spirit of deep sleep to enter? Some may say, it does not matter at this point. But for me it is important to know, because it is through understanding that wisdom materializes, and it is wisdom that affords us a way of escape, if there is one to be found. Isaiah 29:9 “Pause and wonder! Blind yourselves and be blind…” Let us pause and wonder here for a moment. How does a nation blinds itself? By refusing to follow its destiny! Here is where I, as a Christian, disagree with many secular conservative pundits. America is a great nation not because of the many great men and women of her illustrious history, who had great forth sight into the founding and direction that this nation was to follow, and we did have them, thank God. But that is not why America is a great nation, America was destined to become a great nation by God, and I maintain, that the founding fathers knew that, and that is what made them great, they understood the will of God for the nation that they were founding. Isaiah 29:13 “Therefore the Lord said: ‘Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me, and their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men.’” Have you notice how politicians here in America, after giving some great speech to their constituencies always seem to end with the phrase; God bless America. They honor God with their lips, but they really do not desire God’s will for America in their own hearts. If they did, they wouldn't be doing the things that they do behind our backs. Isaiah 29:15 “Woe to those who seek deep to hide their counsel far from the Lord, and their works are in the dark; they say, ‘Who sees us?’ and, ‘Who knows us?’” If there is a price for a Bible verse that most reveals how our political process works now days in America, I think I have the winning entry. What was it that the former speaker of the house once said? You have to pass the bill if you want to find out what’s in it. We are finding out alright, and it's not good, so, is par for the course. But here is where we really get into trouble; Fear toward Me (this is what God says) is taught by the commandment of men. Today, morality in America is taught by those whose hearts are far from God. The entertainment industry, whose primary goal is to please their audiences and to make money, are the main drivers of our present-day culture. Pundits who are more worried about ratings than what God says, are telling us, Bible thumping does not work, basically they are saying, keep your God out of it, after all we have made our own moral codes and they are based on the commandments of man, passed by legislators and judges who do their best works in secret, out of the people’s eyes. So, if in spite of all these facts , the citizens of America decide to follow their counsel, then, blind yourselves and be blind! Isaiah 29:14 “Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvelous work among this people, a marvelous work and a wonder; for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden.” This is how we can confirm that our nation is under a spirit of deep sleep; there is no one left on the scene that is wise or prudent enough to get us out of the mess we are in. The more they try, the deeper in the hole we get, is almost like quicksand . Every time we try to make our situation better by some legislative maneuver, it seems to work against us, and it just makes it worst, we just keep getting deeper in debt. Isaiah 29:8 “It shall be even as when a hungry man dreams, and look—he eats; but he awakes, and his soul still empty; or as when a thirsty man dreams, and look—he drinks; but he awakes, and indeed he is faint, and his soul still craves: so the multitude of all the nations shall be, who fight against Mount Zion.” Boy it cannot get any more real than what the Lord says; its like living in a dream, isn’t that what happens when you are under the influence of a spirit of deep sleep? We kid ourselves that everything is going to be alright in spite of the mess we are in, we believe it, and reassure ourselves of what we believe, but then we wake up and look at the facts, and man, it keeps getting worse, how is that for reality? One of two things will happen to us, either we as a nation wake up and repent, and ask the Lord to forgive us for deviating from the destiny for which He created America, or the Lord returns and takes the faithful away while He judges the ungodly for their ungodly acts that they have committed. Which one will it be? Well, if we repent this is what will happen: Isaiah 29:24 “These also who erred in spirit (of deep sleep) will come to understanding, and those who complained will learn doctrine.” What a beautiful promise, but here is the key; we have to come to an understanding of the truth before we can learn doctrine. Is America a special nation that God ordained to shine His light during trouble times? Yes, that is the truth! Is America currently living up to the founding principles for which God created her? No she is not, and that’s the truth! What if we do not repent as a nation? Isaiah 29:6 “ You will be punish by the Lord of hosts with thunder and earthquake and great noise, with storm and tempest and the flame of devouring fire.” The choice is clear, and no matter which pundits approve or disapprove, or what politicians or other groups are offended by our stance, our foundation is in the Bible and the confidence that we have on the inerrancy of the Holy Scriptures. Let not our speech be timid, for we have the truth on our side, so let us proclaim it boldly, for we do love this nation, and when we ask God for His blessings upon America is not a slogan that we say to incur favor with people; it flows out of a deeply thankful heart that realizes that without God’s favor upon them, the nations languish in spiritual darkness until they perish from the face of the earth to be no more.
