Yet, God remains faithful—He is in the midst of His people and continues to call them to repentance, humility, and righteousness. The Day of the Lord is described as imminent, terrifying, and inescapable—a time of wrath, devastation, and judgment from which only the faithful will be rescued. Believers are called to stay true to God’s Word despite ridicule and persecution, resisting the world’s influence and the compromise of lukewarm religion. Finally, the message closes with hope: those who endure will be vindicated. God will restore, gather, and exalt the faithful who sorrow over the condition of the church. In a divine reversal, the very ones who are now shamed for holding firmly to Scripture will be honored and praised among the nations when Christ returns. Inspired Teaching: Zephaniah 3:17 “The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” There has never been a time in the history of the Christian church when so many of the signs that point to the end of times have been revealed, and when so many of the end time prophecies that precede the Lord’s return have been fulfilled. We are not only the generation that will witness the glorious return of our Lord to save us, but we are right in the end of the time that has been allotted to that final generation. The return of our Lord is imminent! It is implied in our opening text that before our Lord returns, that it would be a time of great turbulence and upheaval, for we are told that at His return He will quiet us with His love. Let us take a sober look at how the events that are taking place all around us right now fit within the prophetic scenario that is given before the return of our Lord. Zephaniah 3:1-2 “Woe to her who is rebellious and polluted, to the oppressing city! She has not obeyed His voice, she has not received correction; she has not trusted in the Lord, she has not drawn near to her God.” When Zephaniah first uttered his prophetic words, they were meant as an indictment against the city of Jerusalem and the people of Judah. But it is very clear within the context of his prophecy that there is a double meaning to his prophetic vision that clearly is applicable to what the prophet calls the day of the Lord’s fierce anger, that foretells about the end of time, as we see in the opening verses of his prophetic vision. Zephaniah 1:2-3 “I will utterly consume (make a complete end of) everything from the face of the land, says the Lord; I will consume man and beast; I will consume the birds of the heavens, the fish of the sea, and the stumbling blocks (idols) along with the wicked. I will cut off man from the face of the land (ground), says the Lord.” It is clear from the sweeping judgments against man, beast, sea, ground, air, idols, and the wicked, presented in the opening of this prophecy, that God was clearly foretelling something more than what their present condition required. He was also speaking about the Day of the Lord’s wrath during the time of the latter days, our present day time. So that when He said in the previous verse: Woe to her who is rebellious and polluted about the city of Jerusalem of Zephaniah’s day, that He also had an end time entity in mind as well. It is very possible that the Lord is referring to a large portion of end time Christianity, what He calls in Revelation the Laodicea church. Revelation 3:15-17 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.” It is clear from the context that our Lord’s focus is against Christian religious organizations of the end times that seem to be standing in their own merits and traditions, rather than having a continuous need for the Lord to be their entire focus; refusing the correction of the Holy Spirit, and not fully trusting in the Lord as their redeemer, having need of nothing. When a church entity becomes organized to the point that their bylaws and traditions take precedent over the guidance and counsel of the Holy Spirit, that church entity is in rebellion to the will of God for her and by her rebellion becomes polluted; it ceases to be a house of deliverance and becomes a house of oppressing legalism. If we think of the two thousand years church history as training and preparation for an event that will surpass every other event in human history, the coming of the Mighty One, then we can see why it is so important that the church be obedient and prepared, for we do not know how events will unfold before His return, so that we need to be in tune with His Word and with the revelation that the Holy Spirit brings to get us ready to be taken up with Him in a moments notice. Zephaniah 3:4 “Her prophets are insolent, treacherous people; her priests have polluted (profaned) the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law (did not stay true to His Word).” In the book of Revelation, the difference between the Philadelphia church that gets taken up in the rapture, and the Laodicea church that gets left behind, is that the Philadelphia church kept His Word and did not deny the Lord’s name, obviously the Laodicea church had need of none of those things, for it could stand on its own religious merits. Zephaniah 3:5 “The Lord is righteous in her midst, He will do no unrighteousness, every morning He brings His justice to light; He never fails, but the unjust knows no shame.” The Lord makes it very clear that even though the Laodicea church is in disobedience, that it still belongs to Him for He is in her midst, and after all, He promised His church to never leave her nor to forsake her; so if He were to abandon her that would be wrong, and He will do no unrighteousness, even if they continuously flaunt their disobedience in spite of His daily warnings against her, but they seem to know no shame. Who are these people? It is hard for me to reconcile the Christianity that I know with some of the people that are described as Christian ministers during the end of time in many of the end time prophecies. But Zephaniah gives us some great insight that will help us identify who some of these people might be, for they will be sharing some of the same qualities that the prophets and priests of his days had. Zephaniah 1:4-5 “I will stretch out My hand against Judah, and against the inhabitants of Jerusalem (for our present day interpretation this prophecy is against the Laodicea church). I will cut every trace of Baal (the false lord, or the other Jesus that they preach) from this place, (along with) the names of the idolatrous priests (Christian ministers that practice or follow pagan traditions along) with the pagan priests—those who worship the host of heaven on the house tops (astrologers); those who worship and swear oaths by the Lord (clearly referring to Christians), but also swear by Milcom (or Molech, to whom infants were offered as sacrifices during Zephaniah’s time, our present day abortionists).” We can clearly see that in end time Christianity there will be different churches, that to different degrees, will preach another Jesus, along with a different gospel that is influenced by the spirit of paganism, and that many of them will be supporters of abortion rights. And this is what they will acknowledge by their actions, the actions that will eventually bring God’s judgment upon them: Zephaniah 1:6 “Those (these are they that) who have turned back from following the Lord, and have not sought the Lord, nor inquired of Him.” Zephaniah 1:12 “And it shall come to pass at that time that I will search Jerusalem with lamps, and punish the men who are settled in complacency (lukewarmness, the Laodicea church), who say in their heart, ‘The Lord will not do good, nor will He do evil.’” If religion has a goal, it is that of pushing God out to the back so that it, religion, can become the final arbiter in any given matter. In order to do that it has to neutralize God first, to the point where God becomes a bystander, a simple observer, and therefore it falls upon religion the sacred duties of deciding what is right and what is wrong. However, this is what God says is going to happen to religion when the time for God to act finally comes: Zephaniah 1:13 “Therefore their goods shall become booty, and their houses a desolation; they shall build houses, but not inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards, but not drink their wine.” What it finally boils down to is the fact that religion cannot sustain itself in the day of God’s wrath. For the day of God’s wrath is a day when the truth is revealed, and religion is built on a myth, the myth that God is not active in man’s affairs, and that He will not involve Himself in the everyday workings of His creation. This is why the belief that Jesus is coming back soon for His church, to set up His everlasting kingdom, is laughed at by many within the Laodicea church today. But how is this for their wake-up call! Zephaniah 1:14-16 “The great day of the Lord is near; it is near and hastens quickly, the noise of the day of the Lord is bitter; there the mighty men shall cry out. That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of devastation and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, a day of trumpet and alarm against the fortified cities and against the high towers.” If I can encapsulate the flavor of what the prophet is telling us, this is how I would do it: That the day of the Lord is COMING SOON! And that the day of the Lord is REAL! And that the day of the Lord if going to be a BAD DAY! The day of the Lord is a day from which we will need to be RESCUED! The only way that a reasonable person, a person that calls himself a believer, cannot understand the clarity with which the Scriptures describes the end of times, is if such a person just decides that God does not mean what he says in His Word. In other words, they do not keep His Word, because if they do they would have to do away with all of their idolatries and man made doctrines. But as usual there is hope for those of us who put our hope in Him, and who trust on the veracity of God’s Word, and not on the corrupted religious traditions of men and demons by which so many unwilling Christians are enslave into their idolatry. Zephaniah 2:3 “Seek the Lord, all you meek of the earth, who have held up His justice (Word). Seek righteousness (not religion), seek humility (realize that we are always in need of Him and His grace). It may be that you will be hidden in the day of the Lord’s anger.” There is a price to pay for being an ardent adherent of God’s Word, there is no doubt about that. We are ridiculed constantly for the fervency with which we believe the inerrancy of Scripture, many a times from our own quarters. We are defamed in many instances, not just by the world, but by Laodicean Christians that believe that our stance against compromise with the world is a hindrance to their version of Christianity being accepted by the world, even though we are clearly warned in Scripture against being loved by the world or us loving the things that the world stands for: 1 John 2:15 “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in Him.” But you see, once you start denying the parts of Scripture that hinder what it is that you want to accomplish in what you yourself believe, then what is there to keep you from removing anything else from Scripture that does not conform with your relationship with the world? Here is the reason why we need to stay true to the Word of God. This is what God promises those who endure the afflictions of their ridicule and ostracizing for our staying true, in spite of their persecution and defamation, to the Word of God. Zephaniah 3:18-20 “I will gather those who sorrow over the appointed assembly (the condition of the Laodicean church), who are among you, to whom its reproach is a burden. Behold, at that time I will deal with all who afflict you; I will save the lame (those whose ministry was hindered by their slanderous accusations), and gather those who were driven out (kicked out of their churches for exposing their compromise); I will appoint them for praise and fame in every land (place) where they were put to shame. At that time I will bring you back, even at the time I gather you; for I will give you fame and praise among all the peoples of the earth, when I return your captives before your eyes, says the Lord.” Those who compromise the Word of God today, do it to gain the praise and fame of the world, and in a twist of irony, that is exactly what God is going to give to those who refuse to compromise the Word of God today, in the world that is to come. In the last days, scoffers will question His coming, yet this itself is a sign of His nearness. Ultimately, The Lord Our Righteousness is our guarantee: He has taken away our sins, given us His righteousness, and will soon return to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords. This truth should inspire reverence for God’s covenant, faith in His promises, and hope in the certainty of Christ’s imminent return. Inspired Teaching: Jeremiah 23:6 “In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely; now this is His name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.” Jeremiah inspired by the Holy Spirit gives us insight into the reign of the Lord during the Kingdom Age, and through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit he reveals to us the name by which Jesus will be called during His glorious reign. THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS is Jesus’ covenant name. A covenant is a legal document that guarantees the execution of those things which are stipulated within the covenant. What that means is that the executor of the covenant has to meet all of the requirements of the covenant in order to bring about their fulfillment. Revelation 19:11 “Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.” God is God, and in His dealings with men He can do to men whatever He wants to do, and whenever He wants to do it, good or bad, for after all we are His creation and we are all subject to Him. But notice the name that precedes the righteousness of Jesus actions, we read that He is also called Faithful and True. Which means that God follows a carefully laid out plan in His dealings with men, a covenant if you will, to which God swears Himself to uphold. Where is that covenant found? Revelation 19:13 “He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.” Keep in mind that a biblical covenant requires the shedding of blood as a seal of its surety. So we see that THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS is Faithful and True to The Word of God, the covenant, and as a guarantee of His ability to implement all the provisions of the covenant He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood. How beautiful and how perfect is The Word of God! Revelation 19:16 “And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.” He is KING ALMIGHTY GOD, and He is LORD OVER ALL THE CREATION, and still He follows the carefully crafted plan laid out in God’s Word, what He calls His covenant with men. Since God has such great respect towards the covenant that He instituted with Adam and his seed, should we not, the seed of Adam, have as much respect and a desire to understand the counsel that God Himself follows: the covenant that God made with man as written in His Word? Human history, in regards as to how good we humans are at keeping God’s covenant, is not a good one. Hosea 6:7 “Like Adam, they have broken the covenant—they were unfaithful to me there.” NIV Not only does the human race in general have a history of breaking the covenant—the Word of God—but also those through whom the words of the covenant were supposed to be lived out—Israel and Judah—have a history themselves of forsaking God’s covenant. Jeremiah 22:8-9 “And many nations will pass by this city; and everyone will say to his neighbor, ‘Why has the Lord done so to this great city?’ Then they will answer, ‘Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord their God, and worshipped other gods and served them.’” If there is one thing that we humans lack is the ability to do the right thing. Romans 3:10 “As it is written: There is none righteous, no, not one.” So that the executor of the covenant had to be righteous and a descendant of Adam, a human, who Himself would be able to impute of His own righteousness to His human brethren who lacked it, and in accordance with God’s covenant as stipulated in His Word. Romans 11:27 “For this is My covenant with them, when I take away their sins.” This is why He is called THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS, for our righteousness, or right standing before God, comes from Him and Him alone, our kinsman redeemer. Hebrews 2:12-13 “Saying: ‘I will declare Your name to My brethren; in the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to You.’ And again: ‘I will put My trust in Him.’ And again: ‘Here am I and the children whom God has given Me.’” Hebrews 8:12 “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” Now why am I emphasizing that which should be very clear to all of us who believe? I want us to focus afresh on the covenant, especially as it relates to His soon return. For there are many voices out there that are trying to persuade true believers that the parts of the covenant that deal with His soon return and the setting up of His Kingdom Age, that they are not relevant anymore. Let me ask you, which part of the covenant did Jesus leave unfulfilled? Or is there any of you who believe that the covenant does not apply to the Kingdom Age as in regards to us His saints, ruling and reigning with him during the Kingdom Age? Revelation 1:6-7 “And has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.” What part of He is coming with clouds don’t they understand? Some say that His return is a metaphor and that His church is already here on earth ruling and reigning over the affairs of men. Then tell me, if you know, where is the One who will be called THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS when His kingdom is set up? Is He here in the earth right now, if He is, then why are we still in our sins? John 14:2-3 “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” Acts 1:11 “...Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” Revelation tells us that every eye will see Him when He returns in the clouds of glory, I have eyes, mine eyes have not seen Him return yet, and neither have yours. Jesus told us that when He physically returns, He will receive us unto Himself, we are not with Jesus yet, so that He has not returned as of this writing. Do not be cheated out of your portion of the covenant my friends. Not one jot or tittle of His covenant Word will be omitted or left unfulfilled. Matthew 5:18 “For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law (covenant) till all is fulfilled.” In one of the epistles it tells us about the inquiries of those who lacked faith, as they asked, where is this coming that we heard so much about? 2 Peter 3:3-4 “Knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, ‘Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.’” In the last days they will be scoffing at His promised return which is a sign, according to God’s Word, that we are living in the days of Jesus’ soon return to set up His kingdom. Jeremiah 23:20 “The anger of the Lord will not turn back until He has executed and performed the thoughts of His heart (the contents of His covenant). In the latter days you will understand it perfectly.” I laid out to you the basics of the covenant, and how important it is from God’s perspective, that we understand the rigidity of the covenant. And since we are living in the latter days where we have the ability to comprehend the entirety and surety of the covenant, by the things which God has already fulfilled, then we should not have any problem understanding perfectly about the soon return of Christ to complete those things that are yet to be resolved. How do you see God? Does He feel near to you or is He far from you? Jeremiah 23:23-24 “‘Am I a God near at hand,’ says the Lord, ‘and not a God afar off? Synopsis: This teaching, based on 2 Thessalonians 1:7, highlights the believer’s hope of finding rest in Christ amidst troubling and contentious times. Scripture reveals that hatred is the root of strife, and as lawlessness increases in the last days, love will grow cold (Matthew 24:12). The message draws from both biblical truth and personal testimony—such as the 1961 Bay of Pigs incident—to illustrate how easily crowds can be manipulated by hatred and how vital it is for Christians to remain sober-minded and not influenced by the venom of strife. Believers are reminded that God’s justice will prevail, that every person will face judgment (Hebrews 9:27), and that those in Christ already share in eternal life (John 11:26). Ultimately, the lesson urges the church to rise in unity, resist the pull of hatred, and enforce God’s peace through love, forgiveness, and fervent prayer, knowing that prayer works and that rest is promised to the faithful when Christ returns. Inspired Teaching: 2 Thessalonians 1:7 “And to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels.” Even for well-disciplined persons, we can all agree, that we are living in the midst of distress and highly contentious days. There are so many misguided people out there, many of which have a huge platform that allows them to stir up trouble and to sow the seeds of hatred and division, just for the sport of it, who do not care in the least if their rhetoric harm others. However, if we understand the spirit behind it, it will make it easy for us Christians to understand what all this chaos is all about and help us not to get caught up in the emotional turbulence of these last days. Proverbs 10:12 “Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all sins.” The root of all the contentions that flare up constantly all over the world is the spirit of hatred, but as long as the spirit of love and forgiveness has the upper hand, the strife is contained. But if it seems that strife and contentions are ruling the day, maybe it is because we are living in the last days, because Jesus told us that during the last days the love of many would grow cold. Matthew 24:12 “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.” So, the key for us believers is not to get caught up in the emotional hatred of the day, but rather continue in love, forgiving one another, even as the Lord forgave us all and gave to us His unconditional pardon. I know that for many of you out there, you may feel that the hatred and contentions of these last days will not have a direct impact on your personal life, but you have to remember that most people think that way, and if by chance you happen to get caught up in it, because of your failure to prepare yourself for such an occasion, you may end up failing to respond properly in your heart with the spirit of love and compassion, and instead you may lose your composure and respond with evil intent. When the Bay of Pigs invasion took place in Cuba in 1961, I was just 14 years old. Castro’s soldiers came to our house and arrested my dad and brother who was eight years older than me; I guess I was too young so they did not take me. They arrested everyone that they thought might be a threat to them, even though we lived far from the place where the invasion took place. Their strategy was to lock up everybody that might join with the invading forces in an uprising against the communist government. They took all the people that they arrested and put them in the yard of a government owned building. They put machine guns facing them in the two corners of the yard facing the building, and were ordered to shoot them if an invasion started near our town. I was there on the street watching in unbelief, looking as it all took place. Then communist agitators started fanning the flames of hatred toward those innocent people of the town, whose only crime was that they had not previously joined the communist militia in support of Castro. A large crowd of people had gathered on the street to see, like I had, all that was taking place. To my amazement the people of the town who knew the innocence of those who were locked there for no good reason, all of the sudden under the impulse of those communist agitators who were calling out for vengeance, joined them, calling out loud for the execution of those who were locked in the yard. I was there, in their midst, looking at them and saying to myself, that is my dad and my brother in there, how could you say that, but they were blinded by such a strong hatred that all they wanted was blood. I will never forget that day as long as I live, and thankfully the invasion did not come any where near us, so that eventually, after two weeks most of them were released, including my dad and brother. Who were the people in the crowd? Some of them were our very own neighbors. I remember thinking, as they were loudly chanting for the execution of innocent blood, the many times that my dad had so selflessly helped many of those in the crowd in their hour of need, for it was a small town of about three thousand people. But you see there is no reasoning with the spirit of hate, and the only protection against it is for us not to get emotionally involved with the propagation of such hatred, for those agitators can get pretty good at it. 1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” When the believers were first filled with the Holy Spirit, many thought that they were drunk with wine, but under the influence of the Spirit of Love those believers transformed the world for the good of all mankind. Those in the crowd back in 1961, that were calling for the murder of innocent people appeared to me to be drunk as well, however their intoxication came as the result of them partaking of the venom of hate. By telling us to be sober, Peter means for us not to get intoxicated with the venom of hatred and strife that the world is constantly peddling. Remember that Peter was an eyewitness of that hatred, as he was there, present, when those who were so blinded by their hatred took our Lord away and beat Him into a bloody mess. What about all the injustices that are continuously taking place? 2 Thessalonians 1:6 “Since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you.” God always has the final say. That is why He has appointed a day for every single individual to appear before Him in final judgment. Nobody gets away with anything, for if they repent and our Lord forgives them, then the sufferings that our Lord endured on behalf of all mankind pay in full for their misdeeds as well as ours; now that is something that we should all be glad about. Hebrews 9:27 “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.” Now those of us who are in Christ have already been judged and have already passed into life eternal, though it does not yet appear like we have, because we are still here in this world. John 11:26 “And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” So that the only reason that we are still here is for our presence to be a restraining force against the spirit of strife and lawlessness that wants to intoxicate the whole world and drive them into killing each other. 2 Thessalonians 2:7 “For the mystery of lawlessness (hatred stirs up strife) is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.” What restrains the mystery of lawlessness, which is nothing more than hatred stirring up strife, is the Holy Spirit that is within us, His church. Once the Holy Spirit takes the church away to meet the Lord in the clouds, His restraining presence is removed as well. What that means is that we are privileged to exercise God’s restraining power over all these demonically manufactured crises, through our prayers of binding and loosing that which God has already foreordained to be bound and to be loosed. But how can we be effective in this ministry of restraining and reconciliation if we ourselves get caught up in the vileness and hatred that is so pervasive out there? 2 Thessalonians 3:1-3 “Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith. But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. The evil one is a master at manipulating human emotions and does not care who is right or who is wrong. All that he is interested in is causing hatred to flourish, for that is what stirs up strife and contentions. I once heard screaming outside of my kitchen window that looked into the street to see a fight had broken out between three or four teenage boys. And in the middle of the chaos from inside my kitchen window I prayed: Lord, this is my neighborhood, I bind every spirit of contention that is at work right now between those boys and in my street. Immediately the fracas stopped, amazingly they started to converse as to what offenses they had committed against one another, and it was then that they saw the whole thing as a simple misunderstanding and shook hands in friendship. Needless to say my jaw dropped, as I turn to my wife who was standing next to me and asked her, did that really happened? I was just praying instinctively, but even in my best faith posture I did not expect such immediate results, yet there it was, once the spirit of contention was removed, animosity slipped away and reason prevailed. Imagine the power that the church has if we can just come together in the spirit of unity and enforce our restraining power over all the power of lawlessness that has engulfed our land! PRAYER WORKS! The rise of Islam’s demand for submission and the West’s embrace of secular humanism both work toward silencing Christianity. The teaching warns that this escalating trend fulfills Jesus’ prophecy of hatred “for His name’s sake” (Luke 21:17), pointing toward imminent judgment. Finally, the lesson distinguishes tribulation—what men do to believers—from wrath—what God does to unbelievers. While Christians are promised deliverance from God’s wrath, they are also called to endure tribulation faithfully. Believers are urged to remain steadfast, expose darkness with God’s Word, and trust that God will ultimately avenge the blood of His people when the fullness of martyrdom is complete. The ultimate choice is presented starkly: stand with Christ and suffer persecution, or conform to the world and face eternal judgment. Inspired Teaching: Revelation 6:10-11 “And they cried with a loud voice, saying, ‘How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?’ Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed.” The opening of the fifth seal reveals that before the rapture of the church takes place, which by the way takes place after the opening of the sixth seal, that there will be a great slaughter of two types or classes of peoples, and then it defines who those peoples are and the reason why they were killed: Revelation 6:9 “When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the Word of God and for the testimony which they held.” Who are the fellow servants and who are their brethren, who have been numbered to die a martyr’s death before the Lord returns? In my book Man’s Final Destiny , you can read it in the books section of houseoffaithministries.org , I make the point that the souls under the altar are representative of the Jews who were slaughtered during World War II, since many of them were slain in gas chambers as a burnt offering, that is what the word Holocaust means, and that they died for the testimony which they held, they were just simply killed because they were Jews. It did not matter whether they were practitioners of Judaism or not, since so may innocent children were slain, over a million, who did not even know what religion or creed they belonged to. And I figured that the number of their fellow servants that were yet to be killed would be those Jews that would die later, before and during the invasion that sees Jerusalem surrounded by the armies of the nations of the world; and I’ve arrived at that conclusion because this is the only place in the book of Revelation where the martyrs are not referred to as dying for the testimony of Jesus, but rather for the testimony which they held, basically they were killed because they were Jews by race. But on a closer look of this passage of Scripture, it also seems to include the souls of those martyred for their Christian faith before the return of the Lord and it is symbolic, I believe, of the reunification of the blood of the fellow servants and of their brethren, upon which the original church was founded, since the foundation of the church included the shed blood of both the Jews and the Gentile believers; hence, there is a prophetic implication here of their final unification as one body, the body of the Lord, before He returns to execute His final judgments. Luke 21:17 “And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake.” The present-day persecution and the hatred perpetrated by the entire world against the Jewish people has been clearly documented and the evidence is irrefutable, just look at the United Nations record and see who it is that they continuously condemn and disapprove of unfairly. What is not clear to many today is, that right now, there is a systematic extermination of Christianity going on, and in many instances we are just talking about nominal Christianity, this persecution is not like the one that has gotten many Christians killed for their fervency and persistency in proclaiming the Gospel in hostile areas, no, this persecution going on right now in many parts of the world is for the simple purpose of eradicating Christianity itself by killing those, like they did the Jews before them, that are Christians even if in name or heritage only. And what might be the most appalling thing in all of this is, that our very own government, the US by its policies, is aiding and abetting the very evil that is taking place against the church of Jesus Christ. In Iraq for example, there was even under the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein, a large and healthy group of Christian communities. Ever since we liberated that country, those of the Islamic faith have used their freedom, which they did not have under the previous regime, to kill and intimidate Christian communities that have existed there since before Islam was even a religion, to the point that over half of the Christian population has fled the country and many have died, and before long there will be no traces of Christianity left in that nation. We see the same things taking place in Afghanistan, where our soldiers and those of the coalition are still fighting and dying to promote the freedom of those who want to eradicate Christianity forever. Egypt has one of the largest Christian populations of any of the Arab nations in the region, we just gave them some of our very best war planes plus billions of dollars; in thanks for our standing behind their rights to be free from a brutal dictatorship and supporting them with our weapons and treasure, they pay us back by torturing and killing Christians for the purpose of intimidating them to flee the cities and villages where their families have lived since the days of Jesus. The Palestinian areas where many of the Christian holy sites are, and where many Christians have lived for two thousand years, has been decimated buy kidnappings, torture and terrorism against those of the Christian faith so that right now the Christian population of many of those areas is nonexistent. All the while our hard-earned money and support is helping to feed and clothe those who commit these atrocities. Jeremiah 34:17 “Therefore thus says the Lord; ‘You have not obeyed Me in proclaiming liberty, everyone to his brother and everyone to his neighbor. Behold, I proclaim liberty to you’, says the Lord—‘to the sword, to pestilence, and to famine! And I will deliver you to trouble among all the kingdoms of the earth.’” Luke 6:38 “...For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” There has always been the persecution of those, who belong to God either by word or deed, beginning with the first martyr, Abel, whose righteous blood still cries out from the ground for God’s vengeance to be executed on its behalf. The question that we must ask is this: When is the number of both the fellow servants and their brethren who are to be killed completed? Genesis 18:23 “And Abraham came near and said, ‘Would you also destroy the righteous with the wicked?’” In the narrative over the pending destruction of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah Abraham engages in a numbers game with God, in other words, Abraham wanted to know what the ratio of believers to unbelievers in those cities would have to be to bring about the final judgment of God. Genesis 19:4-5 “Now before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house. And they called to Lot and said to him, ‘Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally.’” There was one righteous man left in that city and his name was Lot, and because of Lot’s refusal to give into their depravity, they were ready to do away with him. Genesis 19:9 “And they said, ‘Stand back!’ Then they said, ‘This one (Lot) came in to stay here, and he keeps acting as a judge; now we will deal worse with you than with them.’ So they pressed hard against the man Lot, and came near to break down the door.” It is obvious from the context that there was no room left for Lot in that city, it was compliance and conformance to their way or else leave or be killed. Notice what their charge is against Lot, and the reason they intend to harm him, he keeps acting like a judge, in other words, who are you to tell us what is right and what is wrong. There are so many parallels here that is scary. First you have a worldwide religion in Islam that, in many instances, when they become the majority rule in the country or in the community as cited earlier, is either what their religion demands, which is total submission to them, that is what the name Islam means by the way, or the only other options are death or exile. The other parallel here that is so frightening is, that in the western nations where traditional Christianity provided what we could say was a model for government, for it offered its citizens freedom for and from religion, that also included freedom of speech and of choice, have now become ensnared in the trap of secular humanism, which demands of its adherents total and complete subjugation to their philosophy, and if you disagree with them because of whatever reason, then, you are classified as a bigot, homophobic, intolerant person that needs to be dealt with. Luke 17:28-30 “Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.” So that we have a flurry of nations that are forcibly removing from their ranks right now, any trace of Judaism and Christianity, and we have nations that have already done so; and in what is supposed to be the nations that were built on the Judeo-Christian values of Bible teaching, we have a total and complete rejection of the moral and ethical principles upon which they were founded. So, getting back to the numbers game, it is hard for me to see this trend changing anytime soon. There is no enforcement of the moral code of right and wrong anywhere in the world, nations just keep getting away with their evil deeds against those who have no say. I do not see a principled nation that is even able to speak on behalf of the innocent who are being slaughtered, even less one that is able to do something about it. Here in the United States the tales of the horrors that take place in the abortion mills has come to light in the trial of a doctor accused of murdering infants that were aborted but still alive, how their spinal cords were snipped with a scissor or flushed down the toilet while still alive. In another tape you can hear a doctor tell the pregnant mother that her almost full term baby will be killed inside of her before is aborted, she asks him, does that mean that I would have a dead baby inside of me? To which the Doctor responds, think of it as meat in the crock pot. Remember what they said to Lot? Who made you judge? Well, I definitely do not want to be part of this wicked and corrupt generation, I do not want to be a partaker of their judgment, so while I am here, I will not cease to expose their works of darkness to the light of God’s Word. So that when the Son of Man is revealed, I, like Lot, will be ushered out of this Sodom in a great hurry by God’s angels, before God’s destruction rains down from heaven upon this wicked and perverse generation. Revelation 6:14-17 “Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, ‘Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?’” God has not appointed us to wrath, thank You Lord! But Jesus did say that in this world we would have tribulation; my definition of tribulation is that of what men do to those they persecute for believing what the Word of God says, like what I have been teaching here in this lesson. My definition of wrath is what God does to those who persecute His children that believe what the Word of God says. And it is not pretty what God will do to them. So here are the choices: believe the Word of God and suffer persecution, for many of us here in the west is just verbal and situational persecution right now, and who knows maybe not for long, but for many Christians today who live under the rule of mad man, their persecution is very real, and their trials are excruciating, but their future is very secure, for wherever they go they are God’s holy property. And if you choose to conform with the world for the sake of not being out of step with societal evolution, you will end up wishing that you were under a pile of rocks with a bunch of losers, not that that is going to help you in anyway, for after all, hell is hell forever, whether you believe in it or not. It underscores the urgency of choosing eternal life now, before death ushers every soul into their unchangeable destiny. Inspired Teaching: Ecclesiastes 3:11 “...Also He has put eternity in their hearts...” Have you ever wonder what you would do if all of the sudden you found yourself with an unlimited amount of time...forever? I mean, let’s really think about it, a never ending life proposition would immediately arouse in any rationally thinking mortal human a variety of questions that are very relevant to the notion of immortality. Like...What kind of immortal life are we talking about? Will it include suffering and pain? What about sorrows and sicknesses? Is there going to be torment or tormentors in such an eternity? In the absence of any of the aforementioned, will I ever get bored in such an eternity? I mean, after all is said and done, how much harp playing can one human stand? It is bound to get to you after a while, isn’t it? Eternity is something that its very hard for us mortal humans to comprehend since we are surrounded by a world that is full of beginnings and endings. We see people that are near and dear to us leave this world, and they never come back. In one sense, life is turbulent like the weather in a Midwest state, if you don’t like the present condition, just hang around, for it will change, and usually not for the better. Ecclesiastes 3:14 “I know that whatever God does, it shall be forever. Nothing can be added to it, and nothing taken from it. God does it, that men should fear before Him.” If there is an alarm that rings loudly in the hearts of men it is, It shall be forever, and our text makes it clear that God does this on purpose, so that Men should fear before Him. You see, according to the Bible, the human race in general, and individuals in particular, though we all had a beginning, we will never end for we are all eternal. And we have a choice as into which eternity we eventually end up in. An eternity that once we are in it, nothing can be added to it or taken away from it. So that we should not take it lightly, because sooner or later we will all enter into that eternal place. There are two eternal places to which we can go, and the choice as to which eternal place we enter is made here on the earth before we die, for that is when we enter into eternity, right after death. Luke 16:22-23 “So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.” Jesus is telling us that there are two clear and distinct destinations for all humans after they die and enter into their eternal abode. One is a place of comfort and the other is a place of torments, plural. Luke 16:25 “...But now he (Lazarus) is comforted and you are tormented.” And not only is Jesus telling us about the difference between the two destinations but He is also testifying to the fact that, once you get there, there is no way to get out, you are there forever. Luke 16:26 “And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.” Outside of faith, humans seem to think that once we die, since we are not in our physical bodies anymore, that we somehow are not really alive anymore and that the so-call torments of hell are not really real, but rather, something imagined. From every experience of the faithful into the spiritual realm, of which there are many Scriptural references, the spiritual realm is always a lot more real than our present reality could ever be, and that view is confirmed by our next verse of Scripture. Luke 16:27-28 “Then he said, ‘I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house, for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.’” It does not sound like the man in the torments of hell was imagining things, if anything, he sounded very logical by saying that if he could not escape the torments that he was experiencing, that at least a warning should be sent to his five brothers that were still alive, to keep them from coming into the reality of this place of which he knew his brothers, like himself before them, did not believe existed, even though the law of Moses spoke clearly about it and warned against it. Luke 16:29 “Abraham said to him, ‘they have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.’” Out of the mouth of Jesus Himself, He is telling us that failure in our part to act upon what the Scriptures teach about eternity, that if we abdicate our responsibility to choose into which eternal destiny we want to abide, in accordance with what the Scriptures teach, that that failure will cause us to forfeit God’s eternal comfort and peace and will cause us to end up in that dreaded place of torment. Now why would someone fail to act upon such important matter as the one that deals with our future eternity? They may say that they don’t believe that there is an eternity to be had, but yet our opening Scripture declares that God has put eternity into our hearts, so that right from the get go they are in violation of the Holy Scriptures. Let us look at a few Scriptures that deal with this very important subject. Revelation 20:12 “And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things that were written in the books.” Let us begin by establishing the fact that there is, according to Scripture, a final day of judgment coming, that it will comprise the physically resurrected bodies of all who were dead, that have been brought back to life to stand before the great white throne of God’s final judgment, in order for them to give an account for the actions of their lives while here on earth in their physical bodies. Revelation 20:13 “The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.” Let us also establish that this judgment, although it comprises the multitudes that died throughout the ages, now appearing in their resurrected bodies, that it will be a personal judgment for each one of them individually. Each one of them standing or falling based on each one’s individual actions. Revelation 20:15 “And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.” So that all of those who ignored the instructions given by the Holy Scriptures on how to have one’s name written on the Book of Life, are cast into an eternity of torments with their eternally resurrected physical bodies into an Abyss from which they can never get out of. Revelation 20:10 “The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.” So now that we have seen what this one eternity looks like, let us also take a sober look at the other eternity and see what it entails. Revelation 7:9-10 “After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!’” What a contrast! You can hear the jubilation in the voices of all the redeemed from all the ages, rejoicing in the God who saved them, and in the Lamb who had delivered them out of the trials and tribulations that this world had put them through. Revelation 7:16-17 “They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” In the book of Luke chapter 16, Jesus told us about the man that ended up in Hades, how he was tormented by the flames and its heat, and how his desire was for Lazarus to dip his hand in some water and to touch his tongue with it, to relieve some of the torment that he was suffering. Here we see the opposite, not even the rays nor the heat from the sun is able to touch them, and they neither hunger nor thirst, for to them have been opened fountains of living waters. And next we see that God wipes away every tear from their eyes; the scars caused by all their pain and sufferings are finally removed as they move into a state of perfect bliss. 1 Corinthians 2:9 “But as it is written: ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.’” Do not even think of getting bored in this eternity; we need to let go of those antiquated images of what heaven is like, you know, like sitting on a cloud playing with the harp all day long. We need to wake up to the reality of how vast and how great the present creation is, and how much more formidable and perfect the new heavens and the new earth that we will live on for eternity are going to be. Our God is so vast, His love so profound, His goodness unending, that everyday single day with Him will be a brand new exciting day filled with astonishment and unending wonders, as we behold the great and awesome marvels that He performs continuously, but most of all our daily basking in the great and perfect manifestation of His love for us. Sign me up! You say, How do I get my name written in the Book of Life? Romans 10:9-11, 13 “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. I declare that You are my God, that You have been good to me, and that by the precious blood that Your Son shed for me, to cleanse me from all my sins, that You have made me holy and have written my name in the Lambs Book of Life. The message concludes with a prophetic reminder from Malachi 3:1-2—that Christ will return suddenly, like a refiner’s fire, to purge the world of demonic influence once and for all. Believers are urged to hold fast to God’s Word and prepare for His coming deliverance. Inspired Teaching: Isaiah 8:19 “And when they say to you, ‘Seek those who are mediums and wizards, who whisper and mutter,’ should not a people seek their God? Should they seek the dead on behalf of the living?” I believe that the main reason why God is going to bring total and complete destruction upon the earth and all its inhabitants during His Day of Wrath, is to rid it and its human population from the demonic infestation that in now present, both on the earth and on humanity itself, because humanity has opened so many doors to the underworld that there is no other way to cleanse the earth or its people. Isaiah 24:5-6 “The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants, because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, and those who dwell in it are desolate (held guilty). Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned (with the fire of purification), and few men are left.” During the days before the flood of Noah there was an opened door that allowed easy access between the humans that dwelled on the earth at that time, and the creatures that inhabit the demonic realm, the underworld, or the place of the dead, for the creatures that inhabit that realm are and will forever be separated from God, which is what real death is. Due to the fact that the humans of those days lived life spans of nine hundred years or more, it was easy for these demonic entities who are eternal, to manipulate the human genome for the purpose of creating hybrids through whom they could rule the world, since the physiology of these demons is not suited for them to operate here on the earth. So that they created for themselves a physical hybrid of human bodies that they entered into and indwelled for the purpose of ruling over the humans to whom it was originally given the dominium over the earth. Jude 6 “And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day.” Genesis 6:4-5 “There were giants (nephillim, fallen or mighty ones) on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown (like superheroes who possess supernatural powers). Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” Since demons, or fallen angels, do not have physical bodies with which they could impregnate a woman, the only way that they could have women bare them children would be through artificial insemination, demonic dna mixed with human dna to bring about a physical body that was suited for its demonic host. Daniel 2:43 “As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay.” Daniel is prophesying about the end of time, our present day, where genetic engineering is a reality, and in Genesis we are told that not only before the flood this was taking place but also afterward, that is why human longevity was so drastically reduced after the flood. Imagine a time when women lived over nine hundred years, and were fertile for most of their adult life, conceivably they could produce children that are hundreds of years apart, a geneticist dream that would become a nightmare in a society hell bent in creating a race of monsters that are clad with superpowers that allows them to do whatever they wanted to, to a race of regular humans that would be at their mercy. That is why the world of old was destroyed, it was contaminated with a demonic infestation that caused the human race to, in the intents of their hearts, dwell on evil continuously, however it is said that Noah was found righteous in his generation. Genesis 6:9, 11 “This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect (blameless, without flaw) in his generations. Noah walked with God...The earth was also corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.” So that in the destruction of the flood, God removed the breath of life from every physical human body, hybrid or otherwise, and from every physical creature that had the breath of life in it, for the purpose of ridding the earth of the demonic infestation that was transmitted through the violent and corrupted air that they were breathing, and the violence that was enforced upon the humans by these fallen mighty angels. Only Noah and his seed, and the animals that God selected for the repopulation of the earth, were spared from the global cataclysmic destruction that rid the earth of the demonic infestation of that day. The length of human life was shorten drastically for the purpose of keeping the human generations that would follow, from being so drastically manipulated by future demonic infestations that would surely come as the result of man’s disobedience to the laws of God. Isaiah 26:13-14 “O Lord our God, masters besides You have had dominion over us; but by You only we make mention of Your name. They (the old masters) are dead (in everlasting chains under darkness), they will not live; they are deceased, they will not rise. Therefore You have punished and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.” These are the dead that our opening text is warning us not to seek when it says: Should they seek the dead on behalf of the living? These hybrids will not rise from the dead on resurrection day, even though they had quasi human bodies, all those humans who died during the flood will rise from the dead on resurrection day, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt. Daniel 12:2, but not them. Real humans have a soul, and all real humans will have to answer to God for the lives that they lived while on this earth, so that all humans that died will be resurrected and answer for their deeds while here on earth; as it is written: It is appointed unto men to die once, then comes the judgment. But these hybrids did not have a soul, for that was part of what was genetically removed from them, so that they could inflict massive pain and mayhem upon humanity at will, yet without a thought of conscience to bother them. Remember that it was said of that generation that their thoughts were evil continuously, that is how callous their hearts became under the demonic influence of those fallen angels. Today these demonic influences are alive and well here on the earth, courtesy of the mediums and wizards who whisper and mutter the old demonic doctrines through our present culture. The evidence points to an increase of cold blooded murders that continue to take place, extremely violent events seemly for no rhyme or reason. In many instances the perpetrators do not seem to have any sense of remorse whatsoever, and in many cases they have a blank stare that makes you wonder how deep have their souls plunged. Isaiah 8:20 “To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” If we go back in time to when the courts decided to remove prayer out of our schools, and ask the question of what was it that our children were praying for back then in their classrooms? I heard that their prayers were for the well-being of their parents, their teachers, and the leaders of our nation, that simple. It was not long after that simple petition was removed from our schools that we saw a steep decline in the well-being of the family unit, so that today, even the institution of marriage is under assault. The teachers and the quality of their teaching degraded so much that the decade of the sixties produced a generation of illiterate students that received in many instances a high school diploma that they could not even read. And what shall we say about the government and our elected officials? Not only did we lose a president, JFK, to violence in the sixties, but we also lost a war with thousands dead and hundreds of thousands of Americans injured, both physically and mentally. And can anybody honestly say that it has gotten better today? Right now our government is partially closed, there is a debt crisis looming that if it is not resolved our nation will default on its debt obligation for the first time in its history. But the worst thing that we are having to deal with is the hatred that its so rampant between Americans today; is it any wonder that the ones that are hated the most in our nation right now are those of us who believe in the Bible? For they do not want to hear what our last verse of Scripture told us, To the law and to the testimony! And that is because our nation is under the demonic influence of the same dead and imprisoned demons of long ago, whose doctrines of death have been brought to life because we as a nation have turned our backs on the sound doctrines of our Judeo Christian values upon which our nation as well as most of the western nations were founded. Isaiah 8:21-22 “They will pass through it hard pressed and hungry; and it shall happen, when they are hungry (for things to go right) that they will be enraged and curse their king and their God, and look upward. Then they will look to the earth, and see trouble and darkness, gloom and anguish; and they will be driven into darkness.” It is inevitable that our Lord has to come one more time to rid us and the earth of all these demonic influences that are destroying the very fabric of our society today, hopefully our waiting will not be long. Malachi 3:1-2 “Behold, I send My messenger, and he will prepare the way for Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple, even the Messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight. Behold, He is coming, says the Lord of hosts. But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? INDIGNATION AND WRATH To help believers understand the seriousness of rejecting God’s grace, the consequences of self-seeking and disobedience to the truth, and the distinction between justification and sanctification in relation to God’s indignation and wrath. The goal is to encourage repentance, self-denial, and perseverance in God’s grace so that we may escape His wrath and receive eternal rewards. INDIGNATION AND WRATH Pastor Marcos Marrero Objective: To help believers understand the seriousness of rejecting God’s grace, the consequences of self-seeking and disobedience to the truth, and the distinction between justification and sanctification in relation to God’s indignation and wrath. The goal is to encourage repentance, self-denial, and perseverance in God’s grace so that we may escape His wrath and receive eternal rewards. Synopsis: This teaching explores Paul’s warning in Romans 2:8 about God’s indignation and wrath toward those who are self-seeking and reject His truth. God’s wrath is not arbitrary, but the natural result of sowing rebellion and despising His grace. While justification instantly grants forgiveness through faith in Christ, sanctification is an ongoing process of cleansing and self-denial. Believers who persist in selfish ambition risk falling under God’s indignation and forfeiting eternal rewards, even though salvation itself is secure. Paul emphasizes that God’s grace teaches us to deny ungodliness and live righteously, preparing us for Christ’s return. Those who fail to prepare, like the unfaithful servant in Luke 12, may face discipline and endure God’s wrath alongside unbelievers before restoration. Revelation 3 contrasts the faithful Philadelphia church, spared from the hour of trial, with the lukewarm Laodiceans, who are warned to repent through refining fire. Ultimately, salvation is a free gift, but eternal rewards are tied to faithfulness. Self-seeking leads to loss, while self-denial leads to eternal gain. Believers are urged to repent, embrace sanctification, and walk in God’s grace so that when Christ returns, they will be found faithful, spared from wrath, and rewarded in eternity. Inspired Teaching: Romans 2:8 “But to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath.” God’s indignation is kindled by those who despise God’s grace. Imagine knowing that a great disaster is about to be unleashed and that the people that are on its path are not aware of it; so you make every effort to warn those who are in the place that will soon be destroyed that they need to escape—only to be rejected and scorned by those very people you are trying to save. Rejection is what makes God indignant and causes those who reject God’s free offer of grace to fall under the wheels of God’s wrath. God’s wrath comes as the result of reaping that which we have sown. Romans 2:6 “Who will render to each one according to his deeds.” The reality is that there are people who are stubborn and who will not listen to reason, now why is that? There are probably many reasons why people behave the way they do, but in our opening text God gives us the key that exposes the root cause for rebellion—those who are self-seeking. We may not be fully aware of this truth, but if we take a close and careful look in the mirror, it will not be long before we come face to face with our mortal enemy and find that—surprise— it is us! If we want to fully understand God’s grace, His wrath, His indignation, we have to view them from the perspective of our own mortality. Let’s face it—self-seeking is hardwired into every one of us; just look at an infant, when they do not get what they want or need, they let you know it right away, and in no uncertain terms. The grace of God teaches us, first of all, about the dangers of selfish ambitions. We cannot accept God’s grace unless we first acknowledge the fact that we are in need of it. Titus 2:11-12 “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age.” Once we realize that we are our own worst enemy, and that God’s wrath will fall upon those whose deeds do not live up to God’s standards, then, the only logical conclusion that we are left with is that we are in need of His grace, so that we repent and accept His offer of forgiveness. But if after we have received His forgiveness, we despise His grace by continuously seeking our own selfish ways—after we’ve been delivered from the consequences of them—do we kindle then, His indignation, and fall back into the wrath that He worked so hard to deliver us from? Romans 2:4-5 “Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God.” It is clear that Paul is addressing believers in his letters that he wrote to the churches. It is also clear that only those who are under God’s grace, are in a position to despise such grace. For how can we despise something that we have not personally experienced? Wrath in the day of wrath. God’s salvation has two basic components: Forgiveness and cleansing. 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” The theological terms are Justification and Sanctification. Justification happens instantly, as soon as we confess our sins before God in Jesus name, we are immediately forgiven. Sanctification is a process which begins the day that we are justified. This process is God’s mechanism to deliver us—cleanse us—from the consequences of all the sins that we have committed. The agent that God uses to bring about His forgiveness and cleansing in us, is His grace: For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age. In Justification we pass from death into life in an instant. The same grace that saves us, now preserves us, while the process of Sanctification takes place. In order to receive salvation, we have to ask God for it with a repentant heart. In the process of sanctification, we have to learn how to deny ourselves and live for God, by the power of His grace that sustains us. For we know that those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness fall under the indignation of God’s wrath. 1 Thessalonians 5:9 “For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Remember that salvation has two components, forgiveness gets us into heaven, and cleansing delivers us from the wrath of God’s indignation. 1 Corinthians 3:11, 13, 15 “For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ (our salvation)...Each one’s work (selfish ambition or self-denial) will become clear; for the Day (of God’s wrath) will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is...If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss (cleansing from the consequences of their sins while on this earth); but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.” Salvation is a gift which cannot be earned; those who truly repent and accept God’s grace and forgiveness of sins, are immediately justified and on their way to heaven. But while here on earth after we get saved, the grace of God teaches us to deny ourselves and to flee from all the worldly lusts and self-seeking that got us into the mess we were in before we got saved. Refusing to deny ourselves incurs God’s indignation and wrath in the day of His wrath, so that we miss out in the cleansing part. Matthew 10:39 “He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake (denies himself to receive the cleaning) will find it.” If we still go to heaven, what is it then that we lose? Every believer that dies goes before the Judgment Seat of Christ, which is a judgment of rewards or the forfeiting of them as we read in: 1 Corinthians 3:14-15 “If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.” To the Corinthians Paul is talking about the works that those who were saved and died, built on the foundation of their salvation, and about what happens on the coming Day of judgment that will reveal whether those works were the result of self-seeking or self-denial. But what Paul is talking about in his letter to the Romans is what happens in the Day of His Wrath to those who are alive when He returns to the earth, and finds them doing their own works instead of being sanctified to do the Lord’s work. Luke 12:46-47 “The master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. And that servant who knew his master’s will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.” Notice first, how Jesus considers the servant to be a believer who was unprepared and not looking for His return. After cutting him in two, He assigns that servant a portion with the unbelievers, which is to be beaten with many stripes. What did Jesus mean by cutting him in two? I believe Jesus was referring to the separation between the justification and the sanctification of that wicked servant. He was still considered a saved servant who belonged to Him. But since he did not prepare or sanctify himself for His master’s return, he must suffer punishment before he is restored, which is the indignation of God’s wrath. His portion with the unbelievers means that he has to go through the wrath that those who rejected God’s free grace must go through, but God will save him after his many stripes are completed. If we read Revelation chapter three where the fate of the last two churches is decreed by Jesus Himself before His return, we find that the Philadelphia church is spared from the hour of trial—wrath—that is coming upon the whole world to test those who live in the world, because they kept His Word and did not deny His name. Revelation 3:8, 10 “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door (the rapture), and no one can shut it; for you have little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name...Because you have kept My command to persevere (through sanctification), I also will keep you from the hour of trial (God’s indignation and wrath) which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.” Then we read about the Laodicea church, and we see a different story. Revelation 3:18-19 “I counsel you to buy from Me gold (sanctification) refined in the fire...As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten (discipline). Therefore be zealous and repent.” The good news is, as of this writing, the rapture has not taken place yet. Jesus’ offer to be zealous and repentance is still available to all who believe. It is never too late to start denying ourselves for the sake of Jesus Christ and for the glory of His Gospel of peace. What ever it is that our self-seeking is gaining for us in this life is not worth losing the eternal rewards that follow faithfulness to the Word of God. There is no comparison between a few years and eternity. All that we possess will be left behind the day that we are taken away from this earthly realm. There are no u-hauls attached to the hearse. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it. Let us make haste, for Jesus is coming very soon. Previous Next Home

Synopsis: In The Four Craftsmen of the Apocalypse, Zechariah’s second vision is presented as a window into the realm of spiritual warfare. His first vision of the four colored horses symbolized heavenly watchers who monitor the affairs of men, especially regarding Jerusalem. These visions, rooted in Israel’s seventy-year exile, highlight how disobedience to God’s commands led to judgment, while restoration required repentance and returning to God. The second vision introduces four horns—powers that scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem—representing demonic strongholds established through human rebellion. In response, God reveals four craftsmen, symbolizing the apostolic anointing, who are empowered to dismantle these horns and terrify the forces of darkness. The horns themselves are likened to the works of the flesh (Galatians 5:19–21), categorized into four areas: perversion, division, false religion, and malfunction, all driven by selfish ambition. The teaching connects these visions to the unfolding of Revelation’s four horsemen—the white horse of deception, the red horse of war, the black horse of economic control, and the pale horse of death—arguing that we are living in these prophetic days. Just as God restored Israel after exile, believers today are called to return to the Lord, walk in the light of truth, and experience deliverance through Christ’s finished work. The apostolic foundation of the church, rooted in Christ the Chief Cornerstone, empowers believers to overcome darkness and stand ready for the rapture at the culmination of these apocalyptic events. Inspired Teaching: Zechariah 1:20 “Then the Lord showed me four craftsmen.” In the second vision that God revealed to Zechariah we are given a unique insight into the realm of spiritual warfare from an Old Testament perspective. It is my belief that all six of Zechariah’s visions are intricately connected to the prophecy in the book of Revelation about the four horseman of the Apocalypse that God had appointed to be revealed to those of us who are alive during the end of this age. Zechariah 1:8 “I saw by night, and behold, a man riding on a red horse, and it stood among the myrtle trees in the hollow; and behind him were horses: red, sorrel, and white.” In his first vision Zechariah sees horses of four different colors that the Lord sent to walk to and from throughout the earth. These different color horses are symbolic of the watchers that keep watch over the affairs of men and their relationship with God’s people here on the earth. Isaiah 62:6-7 “I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent, and give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.” If we understand the underpinning of Zechariah’s first vision we will be able to make better sense, not only of Zechariah’s second vision as it pertains to spiritual warfare, but about the spiritual warfare that is going on right now, for we are presently living in the days of the unveiling of the four horseman of the book of Revelation. Zechariah 1:11 “So they answered the Angel of the Lord, who stood among the myrtle trees, and said, ‘We have walked to and from throughout the earth, and behold, all the earth is resting quietly.’” The first thing that we need to recognize in order to make sense of the visions is that they revolved around the city of Jerusalem. For seventy years the Lord had removed the Jewish people from the land of Judah and from the city of Jerusalem, to give the land the Sabbath day of rest that they owed the land. When Moses lead the Israelites out of Egypt, he instructed them that when they entered into the land that the Lord was giving them, that they were suppose to give the land a year of rest every seven years. No sowing and no reaping, they had to trust the Lord to provide for them a double harvest during the six years that would last them for the whole seventh year that they were not supposed to be tilling the land. They violated the law of the Sabbath rest for the land, for four hundred and ninety years consecutively, so that they owed the land seventy years of rest: 490 / 7 = 70 years. When the time for God’s judgment fell upon them, God used the nations of the earth to remove them from the land and to keep them out of the land for the seventy years that they owed. Zechariah 1:12 “Then the Angel of the Lord answered and said, ‘O Lord of hosts, how long will You not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which You were angry these seventy years?’” Zechariah, in his first vision is privy to an event that is taking place in the spiritual realm; he sees horses and asked what they mean. After he is told that they are the watchers that watch over the affairs of men, the Angel of the Lord speaks to God in front of Zechariah, reminding God that the seventy years are now over. God answers the Angel of the Lord with good and comforting words in verse thirteen. Then the reason is revealed as to why the Lord had given Zechariah a ringside seat, if you will, to what was going on in the spiritual realm, after he is told that he is to prophesy, within the context of all that he had witnessed, to the Jews that were in exile. Zechariah 1:14-15 “So the angel who spoke with me said to me, "proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: I am zealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with great zeal. I am exceedingly angry with the nations at ease; for I was a little angry, and they helped—but with evil intent.’” The Lord reveals that He is angry with the nations that He used to remove the Jews from Jerusalem and from the land of Judah, because of their evil intent while He was using them against His own people. As always the Lord’s judgments against the nations of the earth have to do with how they treated or mistreated His own people. Remember what God told Abraham when He entered into a covenant with him? I will bless those who bless you and I will curse those who curse you. Then Zechariah proceeded to proclaim to the Jews of his day that God was restoring them back into the land from where they had been exiled for seventy years, and that God would again choose Jerusalem as its capitol. Which leads us right into the second vision that deals with how the Lord removes the demonic strongholds that Satan placed over the nation of Israel, when he took advantage of them, while they were in exile for their disobedience to the commandments that God gave them through Moses. Zechariah 1:18 “Then I raised my eyes and looked, and there were four horns.” Zechariah’s first vision began at night, which is symbolic of the spiritual darkness that was all around the nation of Israel at that time. In the second vision the Lord is revealing to Zechariah the source of the spiritual darkness that is all around him. Zechariah 1:19 “And I said to the angel who talked with me, ‘What are these?’ So he answered me, ‘These are the horns (powers) that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.’” When God’s hand of blessing is over a people, there is absolutely nothing that the devil can do against them, for our God is Almighty. The enemy knows that, as long as God’s protection is over His people, he is powerless against them, so he is always at work to temp those who belong to God into rebelling against God. Obedience to God always brings enlightenment, and disobedience to God always brings darkness. Zechariah 1:2-3 “The Lord has been very angry with your fathers. Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: Return to Me,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘And I will return to you,’ says the Lord of hosts.” The Lord was very angry with the fathers because of their disobedience to the commandment of God in regards to their obligation to give the land a year of rest every seventh year. Now that their debt is paid in full, for they have been out of the land for seventy years, they can be restored back to their land if they return to the Lord first, and acknowledge that without God in their midst they are in darkness. Zechariah 1:20-21 “Then the Lord showed me four craftsmen. And I said, ‘What are these coming to do?’ So he said, ‘These are the (four) horns (powers) that scattered Judah, so that no one could lift up his head; but the craftsmen are coming to terrify them, to cast out the horns of the nations that lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter it.’” In warfare whoever controls the high ground has the advantage over their adversary; because of their disobedience to the Word of God Israel was put at a disadvantage where they could not lift up their heads and have a clear picture of their spiritual condition. Now that they are returning to God, the Lord sends them four craftsmen or carpenters to dismantle the demonic infrastructure that prevents them from regaining the upper hand, the lifting up of their heads. Notice the language that the angel uses that describes how these demonic hordes will be terrified by these four craftsmen before they are cast out. What are these four craftsmen symbolic of? 2 Corinthians 12:12 “Truly the signs of an apostle were accomplished among you with all perseverance, in signs and wonders and mighty deeds.” The four craftsmen are symbolic of the apostolic anointing! The apostolic anointing is the force that God brings about to dismantle the four horns or powers that keep God’s children in darkness. What are the four horns symbolic of? Galatians 5:19-21 “Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outburst of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God (which is light, and those who practice those things are still in darkness).” The four horns are symbolic of the works of the flesh! PERVERSION: Adultery, Fornication, Uncleanness and Lewdness. DIVISION: Hatred, Contentions, Envy and Jealousies. FALSE RELIGION: Idolatry, Sorcery, Dissensions and Heresies. MALFUNCTION: Outbursts of Wrath, Murder, Drunkenness and Revelries. At the center ofcourse is Selfish Ambition the soul motivator before we became born-again. There are seventeen works of the flesh listed by Paul to the Galatians. I took the liberty of dividing them into four categories that revolve around the self motivated soul. The number seventeen is the seventh prime number. Zechariah’s first vision is recorded in chapter one, beginning in verse seven to verse seventeen. A clear double emphasis that the Holy Spirit reveals to us to show us how important to our present day Zechariah’s visions are. Also, all of us have sixteen great-great-grandparents in our family tree, and if you form a pyramid with self sitting on top of it, with two parents directly below, four grandparents below them, eight great-grandparents below them and sixteen great-great-grandparents as the foundation of the pyramid, it shows how our soul is affected by the iniquity of the fathers which is with whom the Lord was angry in Zechariah 1:2. 0 = 1 Self 0-0 = 2 Parents 0-0-0-0 = 4 Grandparents 0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0 = 8 Great-grandparents 0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0 = 16 Great-great-grandparents. Exodus 20:5-6 “You shall not bow down to them nor serve (worship) them (idols). For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me (idolatry is seen by God as hatred towards Him), but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.” We are living in the age of grace, and the church has been established on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets, with our Lord Jesus Christ as the Chief Cornerstone. The time for our redemption is now, for our sin debt that we owed God has been fully paid for by our Savior on the cross. As the Lord spoke during Zechariah’s day, that if we return to Him He will return to us. We are living in the days right now when those that call upon the name of the Lord will be saved. But remember also that with our salvation comes deliverance from the forces of darkness that kept us bound. It is the apostolic anointing that terrifies the devil, for through its revelation we become empowered. Remember the words of Jesus, You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free! Yes, we are living in the days of the white horse, the antichrist, for there are many out there striving to deceive those of us who are the children of light. Yes, we are living in the days of the red horse, the days of war and terror as our Lord predicted. Yes there is a global economy being forged right now that is paving the way for a one world government, the black horse that will control all commerce and all of its financial transactions. The pale horse whose rider is death, followed closely by Hades, soon will be given power to bring war over one fourth of the earth. This is the conflict that will usher in the rapture of the church; let’s be ready for it. Zechariah 2:10/13 “Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! Synopsis: The passage from Revelation 19:2 declares God’s righteous judgment upon the Great Harlot who corrupted the earth through spiritual fornication and shed the blood of God’s servants. The study emphasizes that Revelation presents events in both a spiritual and physical dimension, with chapters 17–18 forming a parenthesis that focuses on the Great Harlot. This figure, identified as Mystery Babylon the Great, is revealed as: A Mystery – hidden in plain sight until exposed by God. A Spiritual Power – representing a universal mystery religion that has influenced nations throughout history. The Mother of Abominations – the origin of false doctrines and idolatries that ensnare humanity. The Harlot is seen riding the beast—the Antichrist fully possessed by the devil—symbolizing the union of religion and political power to control nations. Historically, Satan has cloaked himself in religious systems to gain acceptance, using demonic forces disguised as “saints” to deceive multitudes. Idolatry and false worship, though appearing harmless, are in fact spiritual adultery detestable to God. Ultimately, the Antichrist and False Prophet (linked with Abiram and Dathan from Numbers 16) emerge from the bottomless pit with eternal bodies. Unlike others, they are cast alive into the Lake of Fire when Christ returns, fulfilling God’s final judgment. The Great Harlot, drunk with the blood of saints and martyrs, represents all forms of religious corruption and idolatry that lead humanity into spiritual blindness and death. The warning concludes with a call to believers: avoid the snares of false religion, reject the traditions of spiritual harlotry, and cling to the truth of God’s Word. Only by knowing Christ, the Truth, can one remain free from the deception that leads to destruction. Inspired Teaching: Revelation 19:2 “For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.” The book of Revelation follows a two-fold path; it brings forth separately, the spiritual perspective and the physical perspective of the matter that is being presented. For example, in chapters one through three of Revelation, we are given the physical perspective of the church age, while chapters four through six, gives us the spiritual perspective of the same church age. In chapter seven we see the conjunction of the spiritual and physical presentation of the church age, as God brings down its final conclusion with the rapture of the church and the resurrection of the dead. Revelation 6:14 “Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up (the wall of separation between the spiritual and the physical realms is removed as we enter into chapter seven) …” Then we see the spiritual revelation of the ministry of the Two Witnesses in chapters eight and nine. The reason why I shared this is because there is a parenthesis that interrupts this pattern. It is found in chapters seventeen and eighteen, where God deals specifically with this entity whom He calls the great harlot, who corrupts the earth with her fornication. Revelation 17:5 “And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” Who is this entity and what is her function that God devotes two entire chapters in His dealings with her? Number one, she is a mystery. Something that has to be revealed or exposed in order to be understood. Number two, she is a spiritual power to be reckoned with: Babylon the great is symbolic of a powerful, all encompassing, mystery religion. Number three, she is the originator or mother of all the false doctrines, and of all the abominable things that corrupt the entire earth. What is the connection between this great harlot and the devil? Revelation 17:3 “So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.” The beast that this woman is riding on, is the devil himself. In this case John sees the great harlot riding the antichrist, whom the devil has fully possessed at this point in time. Revelation 17:8 “The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition…” The antichrist is the beast that rises out of the bottomless pit. His name is Abiram—which means exalted father—since according to Daniel he will exalt and magnify himself above every demonic entity called gods. Daniel 11:36 “Then the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god (demon/unclean spirit).” Let me take a minute to explain what is going on here. In chapters seventeen and eighteen, we see the culmination of this unholy and demonic allegiance between the devil and the harlot. The devil has never been popular with a majority of the people of the earth, at any given point in time. In order to be accepted by the populace, he cloaks himself with religious appeal, and through deceptive doctrines and corrupts the entire earth with his abominable teachings. In order to achieve that, he needed an army of demonic entities to assist him. These demons are called saints in order to appeal to the masses. For thousands of years people have worshiped the devil—the majority of them unaware—through religious rituals aimed to deceive those who practice them, into thinking that they were worshipping the real God. Thereby causing them to commit spiritual adultery through their idol worship, which is an abomination to God. Revelation 17:15 “Then he said to me, ‘The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues.’” Religion and politics go together hand in glove, if the leaders of a nation can control and manipulate what their people believe, they can also control how their citizens behave! So as you can see the devil is heavily invested in the business of religion, for he is in the business of trying to control how people behave. The only problem with that is, that the devil has always hated having to share with his demonic cohorts the adulation that he feels should be only his, but without them he could not have deceived the world into worshipping him. After the devil possesses the antichrist, once he arrives here on physical earth—after being with him in the pit since the days of Moses—the devil does not need his old demonic hordes any longer, so he refuses to share with them the glory and adulation which he believes are his alone. He now, like Jesus, has a physical and eternal human body which he can present to the people. Unlike Jesus, he will force everybody to bow down to him and to worship his image, if not, he will have them beheaded, since he now presides over the governing authorities which have ruled over all the inhabitants of the world. Revelation 17:12-13 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast.” The beast that you saw was, is a reference to the antichrist before he was taken down to the pit alive during Korah’s rebellion against Moses. Numbers 16:30 “But if the Lord creates a new thing, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them up with all that belongs to them, and they go down alive into the pit, then you will understand that these men (Dathan and Abiram) have rejected the Lord (have entered into their final judgment).” The ground opened up and swallowed all of them alive, and they all perished, they all died—except for the two men who insulted the Lord by not presenting themselves before the Lord’s Presence as Moses had required of them, that was the new thing that the Lord created that day. Numbers 16:25-26 “Then Moses rose and went to Dathan and Abiram, and the elders of Israel followed him. And he spoke to the congregation, saying, ‘Depart now from the tents of these wicked men (Dathan and Abiram)! Touch nothing of theirs, lest you be consumed in all their sins.’” The reason that we can know with certainty that Dathan and Abiram are the false prophet and the antichrist, and that they are raised and released physically from the bottomless pit, is because when Jesus defeats them at His return, they are not killed—since they have already died and have been judged by God, so when they are captured, they are immediately thrown alive into the Lake of Fire which is the second and final death. Revelation 19:20-21 “Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse…” The only way that we can answer the question as to why the false prophet and the antichrist were not killed by the sword as the others were, is because they were already dead and judged by God, and in possession of their eternal physical bodies. Which by the way, is the selling point that the antichrist uses to deceive the many who will follow him, the fact that he cannot not be killed even after receiving a fatal blow to the head. Revelation 13:12 “And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.” The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And is not, makes it very clear that the antichrist in not in the world right now, for he will not ascend from the bottomless pit until after the rapture takes place, when the sky recedes like a scroll and the Two Witnesses come back to the earth to finish their ministry. Until then, the great harlot will continue to do the devil’s bidding on this earth. It is imperative for us to know who the real enemy is, and that he is behind every evil thing. Do not think that what may seem to us like harmless or old traditions as something that cannot hurt us. Proverbs 7:26-27 “For she (the great harlot) has cast down many wounded, and all who were slain by her were strong men. Her house is the way to hell, descending to the chambers of death.” Revelation 17:6 “I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus…” The sin of idolatry which is harlotry, is nothing to play with, or to take lightly. Those who refuse to renounce her ways and the traditions by which she ensnares so many, will find their spiritual vision becoming blurry, and their spiritual ears becoming dull. This invasion, prompted by God, is designed to reveal His holiness to the nations before the seven-year Day of the Lord’s Wrath begins. Scripture declares that God will supernaturally destroy the invading armies, leaving no doubt about His power and sovereignty. The message underscores that both Israel and the Church share in God’s covenant promises—Israel with a physical inheritance and the Church with a spiritual one. Despite replacement theology teachings, God reaffirms Israel’s central role in end-time prophecy, restoring them to their land and pouring out His Spirit upon them after the Church’s removal. Prophecies also identify the nations aligned against Israel, including those from the “uttermost north” (Gog, Rosh) along with Persia (Iran), Ethiopia, and others—alignments visible in current geopolitical realities. The destruction of Damascus (Isaiah 17:1) may act as a trigger for these events. Ultimately, God calls the nations to His “sacrificial feast” on the mountains of Israel, demonstrating His glory before all. The study concludes by affirming God’s faithfulness: just as He revealed these details to Ezekiel 2,500 years ago, His promises of redemption and Christ’s soon return can be trusted. Both Israel and the Gentiles will know that the Lord alone is God when He establishes His sanctuary among His people forever. Inspired Teaching: Ezekiel 39:23 “The Gentiles shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity; because they were unfaithful to Me, therefore I hid My face from them. I gave them into the hand of their enemies, and they fell by the sword.” Ezekiel 38 and 39 speaks of an end time invasion against the nation of Israel, this invasion is initiated by God’s prompting for a purpose. Ezekiel 38:16 “You will come up against My people Israel like a cloud, to cover the land. It will be in the latter days that I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me, when I am hallowed in you, O Gog, before their eyes.” Prophecy tells us that in the latter days God will bring His final judgments upon the earth, His judgments will last for seven years, and it is called the Day of the Lord’s Wrath, that judgment will culminate in the final battle of Armageddon, where all the armies of the nations of the world will meet their final judgment. Revelation 19:19, 21 “And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army...And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse…” Before that final judgment takes place, God in His mercy, will reveal Himself to the nations of the world, so that those who are foolish enough to take a stand against Him will do so in full knowledge of who the real God is. In order for God to show Himself holy to the nations before His seven years final judgment begins, He has to do something that only an all Mighty God can do, wipe out an entire army in an instant, for that will leave no doubt in the mind of the world as to who the real God is. About twenty five hundred years ago God revealed to Ezekiel the name and the location of the nation that would lead a confederacy against the nation of Israel, the nations that would be part of that confederacy and that Israel would cease to be a nation for a season, for He told them through Ezekiel that He would give them over into the hand of their enemies because of their unfaithfulness. Think of it from our present day perspective, were we to have a world wide vote right now to let the people of the world decide who they believe the real God is, the God of the nation of Israel would not fair very well, for the nation of Israel, and the Jews in particular, are the most hated people by the Gentile world of today. Even in some Christian teachings we find that they do not believe that the present day nation of Israel has any heritage left in biblical prophecy, they call it replacement theology, for they teach that Israel forfeited all of their rights of inheritance when they rejected Jesus as their Messiah, and that the church is now the beneficiary of all the promises that the nation of Israel had coming their way for the latter days. When God entered into His covenant with Abraham, the covenant was two-fold, as the sand of the seas meant a physical inheritance, and as the stars of the sky meant a spiritual inheritance. The law came through the ministry of Moses but grace came through our Lord Jesus Christ, Israel and the church are both part of the covenant. So that clearly both Israel and the church play a vital role in end time prophecy, even if one does not accept the heritage of the other, as it is the case in many instances today, so that God has to set the record straight. Before Ezekiel is told that in the latter days the Gentiles will know that God has a place and purpose for the nation of Israel, He lets Israel know that they have a vital role to play along with the church. Ezekiel 39:22 “So the house of Israel shall know that I am the Lord their God from that day forward.” From which day forward? From the day that He reveals Himself holy to the nations of the world by destroying their invading army, and removing the church to her spiritual inheritance, and restoring the nation of Israel to their physical inheritance, which is the Holy Land. Ezekiel 39:28-29 “Then they shall know that I am the Lord their God, who sent them into captivity among the nations, but also brought them back to their land, and left none of them captive any longer. And I will not hide My face from them anymore; for I shall have poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel, says the Lord God.” The house or nation of Israel can only be sealed after the church is removed, for that is on whom the Spirit of God is resting right now. Ezekiel 37:11, 14 “Then He said to me, ‘Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, “Our bones are dry (without the Spirit), our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!”...I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land (most of the world today see Israel as occupiers, they won't after God intervenes on their behalf). Then you shall know (along with the rest of the world) that I, the Lord, have spoken it and performed it,’ says the Lord.” In verses twelve and thirteen there is a reference to the resurrection from the dead, and we know that when the resurrection from the dead takes place that is when the faithful Philadelphia church will be removed. Ezekiel 37:13 “Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves.” Since the first stage of the first resurrection from the dead includes all the saints of old, and since it is Jesus who will bring them all back to life, the Jewish nation will know then that Jesus Christ is the Lord, God’s Anointed One, as Moses had clearly told them a long time ago. The nation that leads the army that attacks the nation of Israel is identified as coming from the uttermost north, and it is called Gog, the prince of Rosh, which means head. Part of their confederacy will be the nations of Persia, Ethiopia, Libya, Gomer, and Togarmah. These are their ancestral tribal names, Persia is today's Iran and they have made it clear that they want the nation of Israel to be wiped off the map. And that brings us to our present day alignment of nations; Russia and Iran have a vested interest in the government of Syria remaining in power, for they are allies, and as of this writing, the US is contemplating the use of military force against the Syrian nation for using chemicals weapons in their war against the insurgents that want to overthrow the present Syrian government that is in bed with Iran and Russia. This conflict of it self, as it stands right now, does not in my opinion constitute enough reason for the northern confederacy to be activated against the nation of Israel, but it is ripe for the last major prophetic event that has to happen before the invasion takes place, to maybe come to pass before all of this is over. Isaiah 17:1 “The burden against Damascus (the capital of Syria). ‘Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, and it will be a ruinous heap.’” Damascus is one of the oldest city in the world and has been continuously inhabited for most of its history, which means that Isaiah’s prophecy has never been fulfilled, and it awaits its fulfillment today. It does not take much to imagine that if in our present situation a weapon of mass destruction was to be leveled against the city of Damascus, for that is what it would take to wipe out an entire city, and if it was blamed on Israel, that would be reason enough for the allies of Syria to come to her rescue and avenge those whom they blame for such a catastrophe. Could it be that God Himself brings judgment against that city in order to draw Russia and their compatriots into the slaughter end time feast that He has prepared on the mountains of Israel? Ezekiel 39:17-21 “And as for you, son of man, thus says the Lord, ‘Speak to every sort of bird and to every beast of the field: assemble yourselves and come; gather together from all sides to My sacrificial meal which I am sacrificing for you, a great sacrificial meal on the mountains of Israel, that you may eat flesh and drink blood. You shall eat the flesh of the mighty, drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams and lambs, of goats and bulls, all of them fatlings of Bashan. You shall eat fat until you are full, and drink blood till you are drunk, at my sacrificial meal which I am sacrificing for you. You shall be filled at My table with horses and riders, with mighty men and with all the men of war,’ says the Lord God. I will set My glory among the nations; all the nations shall see My judgment which I have executed, and My hand which I have laid on them.” Five times the Lord uses the words sacrificial and sacrificing, the point is clear, before the Lord ushers anything new He always requires a blood sacrifice, six million Jews were sacrificed in Nazi camps before the nation of Israel could be established once again, now the world is going to provide the meat for the sacrifice that is going to let all the world know who the real God is once and for all. This is how close we might be to the end of our journey here on earth. If God is able to tell Ezekiel twenty five centuries ago the geopolitical alignments of today, and every detail of the events that are about to happen, then we can be sure that we can trust Him when He tells us that He is coming back soon to redeem us to Himself. Ezekiel 37:27-28 “My tabernacle also shall be with them; indeed I will be their God, and they shall be My people. Synopsis: This teaching begins with Paul’s admonition in Romans 12:2, contrasting conformity to the world with transformation through the renewing of the mind. The author observes that modern society, particularly in America, suffers from contradictions and irrational behavior—not due to a lack of knowledge, but because of a deep spiritual problem. While past generations developed moral values through family, faith, and community experience, today’s culture is artificially manufactured through centralized control of information and media. The rise of global information systems and ideologies such as socialism has eroded individuality and encouraged a herd mentality. This manufactured culture disconnects people from heritage, reason, and truth, conditioning them to accept shifting standards of morality and knowledge as absolute. Yet, unlike the fleeting and unreliable wisdom of man, the Word of God remains unchanged and trustworthy across all generations. The message emphasizes that transformation requires rejecting the false narratives of this age and choosing the eternal truth of Scripture. By renewing the mind in God’s Word, believers can escape the deception of conformity, discern rightly, and prove what is good, acceptable, and perfect in God’s will. Ultimately, the teaching warns against the peril of blind conformity and exhorts believers to hold fast to the unshakable truth of God’s Word in preparation for the return of Christ. Inspired Teaching: Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” If you ask any reasonable person today to explain the disconnect that so many have with reality, they would be hard pressed to explain it, for truly everything that is going on today in all levels of society does not make any sense whatsoever. Here in the US for example, polls tell us that a majority of Americans want to get rid of their elected officials at any given time, yet every two years we have elections, and by a margin of over ninety percent the same incumbents get reelected, how do you explain that? A majority here complain that the government is too big, and that its spending is out of control, and that for the money they get from us we are not well served by our government. Yet a majority always complains when efforts are made to reduce the government and the power that it now has to control every aspect of our lives. How do we explain such contradictions? The world at large and the United States in particular, do not have a physical problem, and by that I mean that we do not lack the ability to receive information and the knowledge that allows us to make sense of what is going on all around us if we are rational, but we are not. In reality what we are facing is a spiritual problem! Some will say that we have lost our moral compass, and we have, but that is not the root of it, for there has always been immoral behavior in every nation that ever existed, including the US. In our opening text, the relationship is made between our ability to reason, the renewing of our minds, and our conforming to this world system. The more that we become one with our present world system, the less capable that we are in making sound judgments that are based in simple human reasoning; that is the point of our opening text. What is the difference then, between our present day generation and past generations that knew exactly what it was that was required of them? The dissemination of information! In the past, our world was a limited world, the rules that governed the areas where people lived back then, had been developed through generations of families that through trial and error had developed the moral concepts that they handed down to their children, good or bad, but that only applied to the very specific areas where they lived. So that there was back then a diversity of thought and many different applications of faith, that allowed reasonable people to make a determination as to whether what they believed was right or wrong based on the behavior of others when compared to their own, and with it the ability to improve their belief system where it was needed. So that there was not a worldwide uniform code that compelled others to conform to a narrow standard of moral thinking. Daniel 12:4 “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” The dawn of the twentieth century was a pivotal point for all mankind, for with the industrial revolution came the reality that, knowledge shall increase, and those early visionaries did not want the Gospel of Jesus Christ to be the standard by which the world became one. For in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, individuals are free to choose for themselves and their families the kind of world, or community, they wanted to be a part of, for they were given individual rights to life and liberty and for the pursuit of happiness from their Creator Himself. Socialism, however, offered a better system for those whose aim was always to rule the world, for socialism debases the individual for the sake of empowering the state. The culture of today is not our grandfather’s culture. It did not evolve out of individual societies that through trial and error had chosen to pass to their children in what they thought would be the best for them, what they commonly called, the moral values of their faith. The culture of today has been manufactured by those illuminated ones who think of us humans as a commodity that they must somehow manage through force and coercion. But we humans present a different problem for their methods of how they manage the world through the herd mentality, for we have the ability to reason and the capacity for sound understanding. In the information age, he who controls the output of information, also controls the behavior of the herd. If what our children learn in school about culture today is the same thing that they learn at home through nationwide television shows that sometimes reach the entire world, before long, they lose the connection to their heritage that is not being portrayed on these shows, especially if they are able to relate more to the belief system of a fictional family on television than to their own heritage. And as we see these things played out in television shows that deal with relationships and morality, as well as in the news and in social media, as to what is good and who is bad being reinforced daily in every facet of our society, eventually our capacity to compare and to choose between the present system and something else that disappeared or has been disparaged, is lost. That is why society is where it is today, unable to make decisions that are based on sound judgment. But be transformed by the renewing of your mind! How can you choose if you have no choice? Information is presented today by this world wide information conglomerate, as if what they believe is right and what everybody else believes, or believed, is wrong, for they see themselves as the gate keepers of information. They ridicule anything and everything that does not conform to what they present as knowledge; knowledge that is biased and based on laughable theories. But we do have a choice. Next time when some know it all tells you what happened one billion years ago, ask him to show you the video, lol. Let me show you what is more real than any empirical evidence that you have ever witnessed: The end time prophecies found in the Word of God! For they are the pages of history written in advance for all to see. Isaiah 46:9-10 “Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure.’” It is not until you say no to the nonsense of this world, for this world is passing away along with the knowledge it professes, and say yes to the eternal Word of God, that you will be able to renew your mind and finally find a real choice that is evidently clear. That you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Every time I see a contest between human knowledge and the wisdom of God, I cannot help but laugh. I picture in my mind natives aiming their primitive bows and shooting their arrows at a 747 airliner at 40,000 feet, trying hard to bring it down and I can almost hear them saying, Oh, shoot another arrow, you almost got it with the last one! I know that for some who might be reading this, because you have been fed so much bull that passed for knowledge all your life that it might be difficult for you to see it from my perspective. So let me run a little scenario pass you that might help you understand the preeminence of the Word of God in all things. I was born in 1947 and let’s say that someone gets all the curriculum that was used that year to graduate students from the highest places of learning back then. Let them study those books and pass all the tests. Will they get a diploma from those prestigious universities today? Of course not! What they learned back then is old knowledge today. Okay, let me ask you this, will the knowledge that all the graduates learned this year be up to date for future graduates, let’s say sixty six years from now? Of course not; new year, new books, new knowledge. Let me see if I get this right, they want me to put my trust in knowledge that by their own reasoning will not be trustworthy tomorrow? Now go and get a Bible that was printed in 1947, open it to Genesis 1:1 and read it. I do not know if out of the many Bibles that I own, if any of them was printed in 1947, but I can tell you this, Genesis 1:1 in those Bibles that were printed in 1947 read like this: In the Beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Get a Bible that was just printed and I guarantee you that it says the same thing, just as it will sixty six years from now in the Bibles that are yet to be printed, just like it read when Moses first wrote it 3500 years ago. Do you want to put your trust on fallible knowledge that is here today and gone tomorrow? Is this what you want your epithet to read: He trusted a fallacy, and what he knew came to naught? Life is a learning experience that has many twists and turns, but if we are not careful, the devil in his cunningness is able to rob humans of their God giving ability to reason properly and to make the right choices for their lives and their families lives, as we can see many today that simply do not have a clue. Don’t get caught up with this world that you end up conforming to it. For if you do, your mind will not be able to receive the transformation that allows you to think and reason as an individual. Matthew 24:38-39 “For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” Do not be hoodwinked by the present deception that is taking place all around us.
