CONCERNING SPIRITUAL GIFTS

Objective:
The purpose of this teaching is to help believers understand the true context and purpose of spiritual gifts. By examining 1 Corinthians 10–12, the message emphasizes that gifts are not isolated abilities but are rooted in fellowship with Christ and proper spiritual authority. The teaching aims to show how spiritual gifts deliver us from the influence of idols and demonic wisdom, positioning us rightly in the body of Christ so that each member functions effectively in unity under the headship of Jesus.
Synopsis:
This message begins with prayer and thanksgiving for God’s presence and guidance, then moves into Paul’s instructions in 1 Corinthians 12:1: “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant.” The teaching places this verse in the broader context of 1 Corinthians 10 and 11, which highlight two foundational truths: fellowship with Christ (communion) and proper alignment under spiritual authority.
The message explains that spiritual gifts flow from this fellowship, placing believers in their unique positions within the body of Christ. Just as seating arrangements at a banquet reflected status in ancient customs, so too does our place in Christ give us authority and responsibility. Unlike worldly systems that exalt power and pride, the kingdom of God exalts humility—God resists the proud but lifts up the humble.
Drawing on passages from James 3 and Psalm 115, the teaching contrasts the influence of demonic, sensual wisdom with the life-giving wisdom from above. Before salvation, believers were bound by “dumb idols” that dulled spiritual senses, leaving them unable to see, hear, or discern the things of God. Spiritual gifts, therefore, serve as God’s tools to free His people from these former influences and to equip them for service.
The gifts are not given for self-exaltation but for building up the body, ensuring that each member—whether seen or unseen—functions in harmony. The message stresses that communion with Christ must not be taken lightly; failure to discern His body leads to weakness, sickness, or even death among believers. Conversely, rightly partaking of Christ’s fellowship brings healing, authority, and the power to overcome.
Ultimately, the teaching shows that spiritual gifts are God’s weapons of deliverance, empowering His people to walk in their rightful position of fellowship and authority, and to minister under the guidance of the Holy Spirit for the edification of the entire body of Christ.

Touch us father in the name of Jesus that we may see what the Holy Spirit is bringing from you to reveal to us tonight father in Jesus name we thank you Lord. Amen. Amen. Praise God.
Concerning spiritual gift and it's our scriptures in 1 Corinthians chapter 12. And I was reading um the other morning sitting in Riverside there in my car while waiting and I opened to this chapter and the Lord gave me a neat revelation and it says in um 1 Corinthians 12 verse1 it says now concerning spiritual gift brethren I do not want you to be ignorant and then immediately was like the Lord uh just brought the revelation to my mind that um uh spiritual gift have a purpose and the purpose has to do what he has been talking about. In other words, when he said concerning spiritual gift, I do not want you to be ignorant. And if you look back to take into context uh as the Lord showed me in um uh for example in in first Corinthians um uh chapter 11, he's talking about spiritual authority. In in verse two, he said, "But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ." And then he's talking about the man being the head of the woman, Christ being the head of the man, God being the head of Christ. So he's talking about spiritual authority. He's talking about uh the dangers of praying or ministering outside of the right proper spiritual authority. That's what he's talking about there. In other words, he's saying uh uh that when things kind of get out of line, uh we're not functioning under the proper anointing or under the proper covering. And if you go back even farther to put into context what he's talking about, he's talking about um
he's talking about communion, having fellowship with God. For example, in 1 Corinthians 10 um verse 16, it says, "The cup of blessing which we bless is it not the communion of the blood of Christ, the bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ." So there's an understanding to be had here that when he says in in in 1 Corinthians chapter 12 verse 1 when he says concerning now spiritual gift brethren I do not want you to be ignorant he's taking into context two very major points that he just made in chapters 10 and chapter 11. In chapter 10, he's making the point that we as believers because of the blood of Jesus Christ, we have fellowship. You see, and as believers, we also are placed in a position of authority. Now, let's take this back to the time of of the apostles and so that we can grasp and understand. Remember how Sebedes, the sons of Zebedee, Zebedee's wife, the mother of John and Andrew, came to Jesus and said, "Jesus, when you come into the kingdom, why don't you let uh my uh my son sit at your right hand and at your left hand in your throne to rule." And then there's another occasion when Jesus comes in and says, "Listen, when you're invited to a feast, don't seek to sit closer to the head of the table to the master because he may come in and somebody more important than you may come in and he'll pluck you out of your chair and put that other person." He says, "Sit where the most humble people sit and then the master will see you and then he will sit you up." What he's talking about, he's talking about a custom. A custom in those day is fellowship. When you're in fellowship, the position that you sit in that place of fellowship determines what your ranking is. In other words, the higher ranking you are in that fellowship, the closer to the master you sit. The lower in ranking, the farther you are. Now, I want you to take these two principles here because this is what Paul is talking about. chapter 10 and chapter 11. In chapter 10, he says, "Hey, we're seated now with Christ in the heavenly places because we have fellowship with him." In other words, Jesus said, "Do this in remembrance of me." When we partake of communion, we are recognizing the fact that we are part of the body of Christ. Jesus sits at the head of the table like he did during the communion and the different disciples sit next to him on their positions that are given to him. So the fact that we are now part of the body of Christ places us in a position of authority with Christ. That's what it's talking about. 1 Corinthians chapter 10 1 Corinthians 11 is talking about fellowship and authority. That's what it's talking about. So when in 1 Corinthians 12:1 he says, "Now concerning spiritual gifts, I do not want you to be ignorant." We need to place it within the context is that in fellowship with Christ, we have position and we have ranking. Okay, we need to understand this because this is the whole framework of the gift. This is how they operate. As a matter of fact, if you read farther down, where we're not going to get to tonight, in in 1 Corinthians chapter 12, uh he makes the very statement that in Christ, we're all like part of a body. In other words, we're not all an eye. We're not all an ear. But imagine if you put the eye on the knee, you would have a hard time praying, getting in your knees to pray because your eyes can't handle that. So he is talking about here that no matter what position you have in the body, whatever position has been given to you, whether you're a male or a female as he's using it in in in in 11 when he talking about that the woman not to pray with her head on cover. And when he's talking about that a man cannot pray with his head uncovered, meaning that Christ is his head. And if he's going to do spiritual warfare, he better have Christ as his covering, just like a woman needs to have her husband as a covering or her pastor, he's talking about a position in Christ, a fellowship with him. And then he's talking about not only a position of authority, h a position that brings us to a place of authority. In other words, whether you're the little toe, whether you're the nail, whether you're the eye, whether you're the ear, it does not matter. You fit into that pattern. And to men, now remember, they asked Jesus right in the context of when uh Zebed's uh wife uh wanted one of her sons sitting at his right hand and as his left hand. Jesus says the kingdom of God is not like the gentile world. In the gentile world, you lorded over people. He said, you know, the one with the most drive, the one that can bribe more people or convince more people or lead more people, he takes a head seat. He said, no, in the kingdom of God, the more humble person a person is, the more he to be exalted. In other words, you want to be great in the kingdom of God, be a servant of them all. Now, why is that? Because God governs and rules through principles, spiritual principles. Just like gravity. If gravity was taken right now, we all go floating. And if we don't have nothing to grab on to, man, we're in trouble because we're just out there in space doing nothing. God works always through laws which are called spiritual principle. And God has a very simple spiritual principle which he governs everything by. He says that God resists the proud but yet he exalts the humble. So you want to be great in the kingdom of God, be humble. And God is going to come to your little seat where you're at and going to move you to a higher position of authority because why? Because he has to obey. He governs by the rules that he made. And that's the rule that he made. The humble he lifts up. And now the one that exalts himself, what is it? That God resists the proud. So we need to understand then that in 1 Corinthians chapter 12 when we read verse one when Paul says now brethren concerning spiritual gifts I do not want you to be ignorant. We need to take that into the context that Paul is speaking about as believers. We have fellowship with Christ. And because we have fellowship with Christ within the structure of the fellowship we are given a position. we are given a position of authority. That's what he's talking about in in in chapter 11 being in the right under the proper government uh government ruling uh spiritual ruling of God. So the spiritual gift have to do with placing us in the proper place of fellowship with God and in the proper place of authority with God. So if we start with that then we're going to be able to understand what it's talking about. Now I want you to read. We're going to read verse one and verse two. 1 Corinthians 12. He says, "Now concerning spiritual gift, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant." Verse two, "You know that you were Gentiles carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led." Now Paul very purposely puts the word there d them. He's not putting down on an on idols. He is trying to bring a very very important point. And what he's saying over here is that when we were gentiles and the problem with the word gentile that's become a fancy word. Oh we're all gentiles. The word gentiles mean pagan means idoltor means an idol worshipper. That's what the word pagan means. It means that hey, when you were an idoltor, when you were a pagan, when you were in the world, before you came into the fellowship that you are now in with Christ, and before you came into the position in which God has placed you, you had an authority and you had a position because you were influenced. You were led by idols. You see, so the spiritual gift are designed to take as if it were our nature or carnality or the position that was given to us by these dumb idols by our pagan ways of walking and placing us within the proper framework and context of the purpose and plan that God has for us. That's what he's saying concerning spiritual gifts. Brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant. You need to understand that now that you're a believer, you're in Christ. You have fellowship with God in the house of God. There is a seat. There is a spot that is reserved for you on that. You occupy a place of authority. And when you're part of the body and you're exercising your full authority within your context of the place of authority, you're making the body work. Hallelujah. You're making the body work. Things are happening. But when you're not within your position and within the realm of your authority, you're hindering. And that's why we need the gift. The gifts are there to place us in the proper place. That's what he's talking about. Now first of all we need to understand that as Gentiles or pagans all of our ways that means the way we think was influenced by demonic stuff. Now I don't have it there in the notes but u uh uh I need you to to see this. I was thinking today as I was meditating is in James and I think it's chapter 3. Uh James chapter 3 if I can find James. Where are you James? There you go. I'm already there. James 3. And I spoke this many times
is James 3 verse 12. Let's begin there. It says, "Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grape vine bear figs? Does no spring yield both salt water and fresh?" Believe it or not, this is the context into which Paul is talking about. We're going to read a scripture later to where it says, "Are you trying to make God jealous because you're partaking of the table of demons and you're partaking of the table of God?" So the context here is that now that we are situated or positioned in Christ, we need to assume or fulfill the responsibility of that office that has been given to us. And then he says um in verse 13 James 3:13 say who is wise and understanding among you. Remember I don't want you to be ignorant brethren. That's what 121 says. I don't want you concerning spiritual gifts. I do not want you to be ignorant. who is wise and under standing among you. Let him show by the conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. Remember wisdom is a spirit. He said, "But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth because this wisdom or this spirit, this influence does not descend from above, but is earthly, is sensual, and is demonic." And I want you to to underline those two words, sensual and demonic. And then he says, "For where there's envy, self-seeking, there's confusion, and all kinds of evil are there." And then he contrasts that by the wisdom that come from above, he says, "But the wisdom that is from above is first of all pure, peaceable, gentle, willing to yield and and all kinds of things." So I want you to see that what Paul is trying to deal with here is our carnality versus our spiritual position in fellowship and authority with Christ. Our carnality, the influences of the flesh are going to be in contrast with the position that we are in Christ in our fellowship with him and the authority that has been vested upon us as Christian. And so that if we don't see that the spiritual gift are tools that God has made available to pull us out or remove us from under the influence of the wisdom of this world which is demonic then we cannot come into the fullness of our position and fellowship that we have with Christ. This is why so many Christians fail. Now I want to take you in a journey as to why pagan when we were pagans that's before we were saved when we were pagan how much influence that demonic structure of this world that wisdom that we just read the self-seeking and sensual how detrimental that was to us because that DNA is deeply engraed saved in our human nature and that's what the gifts are for to remove that. Let's go first to Psalm 115 and let's read verses 2-8. Psalm 115 verses 2-8.
He says, "Why should the Gentiles say, so where is their God?" Now notice he begins with a question. Why do do pagans say where is their God?
How many of you know that now that's what the world says to Christians? Where is your God? How come you're dying of cancer the same way everybody else has got cancer? You're getting divorced the same way everybody gets divorced. you know, you're having to do the same things that we're having to do. So, where is your God? Now, watch what he says. He says, "But our God is in heaven, and he does whatever he pleases." Now, the pagans, verse four, their idols are silver and gold, the work of man's hands. And this is what I want you to see. This is very important. The idols, the works of manham, they have mouth but they do not speak. Eyes they have but they do not see. They have ears but they do not hear. Noses they have but they do not smell. They have hands but they do not handle. Feet they have but they do not walk. Nor do they mutter through their thro. And here's the kicker. Those who make them are like them, and so is everyone who trusts in them. Now, if you didn't catch it, he was talking about the five senses. He says they have eyes, they do not see, they have ears, they do not hear, they have noses, they cannot smell, they have mouth, they cannot taste, they have hands, they have feet, they can't do anything. And it says that those who make him, which is the wisdom of this world, the selfseeking that is embedded in all of us, we were under that influence as Gentiles, as pagans becau before we came into the commonwealth of Israel, which is the promise of God of Abraham according to the spirit where he said, "Your seed shall be like the stars of the heaven." That inheritance that we have before we enter into it, that's what we were under. We were this is so are the ones who make him and the ones who worship that lifestyle they become like them. Imagine that. What does it mean to become like an idol? It means you cannot hear the spirit of God. Means you cannot see the reality of spiritual things. Means you cannot does the Bible say come and taste and see that the that the Lord is good. You cannot taste the word of God. You speak it but it's not food. There's it's like eating cardboard, dry box, something like that. Why? The reason is because of the fact that idols are designed to keep men bound so that they cannot hear the spirit of God and be set free. Remember what Jesus said, lest they hear and be healed lest they hear. Isaiah says, you know, they they they hear uh they have ears, but they cannot hear. And and then he says, and and and unless they hear and be healed. So, we're talking about coming into the inheritance of God. But it says that we inherited all of that. You see, before I was born again, I could read the Bible and I could say, "Man, no wonder the world is so messed up." All you could see when I was reading in the Bible was wars and killings and murders and everything else. You see, my spirit was shut up. Could not see, could not hear, could not taste, could not smell. It wasn't until I experienced a rebirth. Born again, born of the spirit where that dumb idol. That's why Paul calls it the no matter why dumb. Because you don't hear and you don't speak, you're called dumb. That's why he called them. They don't have the ability to speak or to hear. We were led when we were pagans by dom idols. And these do idols kept us boxed in to where we could not see the fellowship the the seed of fellowship that we have with Christ. And we cannot understand the authority that comes with a sitting that we're now seated with Christ. That means that we need to be delivered. We need to be delivered. We need to be delivered from ears that cannot hear. We need to be delivered from eyes that cannot see. Have you ever been around a person that is negative all the time and and in every situation they see the worst and and and you're not involved in it and and immediately you perceive man that person will be so negative. He could see the blessing right there. Their attitude is what keeping them. I mean the person might be dying to hire them but they're doing everything in the world to keep the guy from hiring because of the attitude. You cannot see things like that and that's what he's talking about. So then what first Corinthians chapter 12 what he's talking about he's about God has made available for us spiritual gift because he said brethren concerning spiritual gift I do not want you to be ignorant those spiritual gift has been given to us for a purpose and the purpose is to deliver us from the demonic influences. that we have inherited from our old lifestyle when we were pagans. As a matter of fact, there's another scripture that I want to bring it more at home. And it's right there in 1 Corinthians chapter 10. If you're still in in 1 Corinthians 12, just back up just a little bit so that you can see that all of these things that Paul is doing, he's he's he's they're all chapter 10, chapter 11, they're all talking about. Look at ch 1 Corinthians chapter 10 uh verses 19 and 20. Look what Paul says what I am saying then that an idol is anything or what is offered to idols is anything. He's asking the question, but look what he says. The statement that he makes in 1 Corinthians 10:20. Rather, the things with the Gentiles or the pagans sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God. And because of that, Paul says to us, those who are believers, no, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons. because you cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. So he's saying as a believer now you cannot remain in your old lifestyle. You have been given a seat of fellowship at the Lord's table which is his body, the church. That's what 1 Corinthians 12, if you read it, he says uh uh this gift are given for the profit of all and we're like a body. There's just one head. See, a lot of people say, well, uh, uh, you know, to justify their stronghold in a church or in a group or fellowship, anything with more than one head is a monster, they say. And I agree with that. Jesus is the head. That's what they don't understand. They're not. Jesus is the only head and Jesus operates through the full body. Any healthy church will have different people manifesting and and and ministry through different gifts. As a matter of fact, you read 1 Corinthians 13, it it says there are many gifts, but there's one spirit. There's the same Holy Spirit. He works. And you know, the Holy Spirit loves working through multiplicity of people. Get a group and begin to minister and you'll see that he the Holy Spirit will jump from one person to the other one to the other one to the other. Why? Because God operates in principles. And what is another principle that God tries to keep us from? Pride comes before the fall. And God knows in our human nature, we're very much prone to pride. So if the Holy Spirit does everything through you and you become the big head, pretty soon you're going to fall over. So the Holy Spirit will just use you for for a part and then he'll move to somebody else. And then you said, "Wow, I can't believe the Lord gave him that." And the other person say, "Look at you. I can't believe the Lord gave him that." But the thing is the two parts work together and bring the deliverance to the to to the thing that you need. And so what? Nobody gets full up because everybody said, "Man, if pray had not been here, that would not happen or if this had not happened." So So the Holy Spirit loves working like that. So he says in 1 Corinthians 12, if you read part of there are many gift but one spirit. But then he goes on to say there are different ministries but just one Lord. I don't care whether you're a pastor or a prophet or whether you're an evangelist or whether you're a teacher or whether you're an apostle, whoever you are, Jesus still is ahead. Why? Because he is the chief cornerstone. He's the head of the church. He is he he he he occupies every main office of the church. He occupies he's king. He's high priest. He's prophet. He's the apostle of our faith. Everything that has a title that governs and rules the body, the church is Jesus. All of us are just somewhere in there. And it's amazing that when h as 70 son's mother asked Jesus, he says those position are reserved by God as to who sits to his right hand and to his left hand. Only God has got those position. And you know what? When we get to heaven and we see those seated up there, I can guarantee you we never heard of them. We never knew them. There's some place some place to where and they suffer endure and whatever God knows the heart. He says whatever you do in secret will be rewarded in public. So then in 1 Corinthians chapter 12, what Paul is talking about when he says, "Now, brethren, concerning spiritual gift, I do not want you to be ignorant." And it's not to be ignorant of the fact that we have fellowship through our communion with Jesus Christ. And because we're in that fellowship, we have been given a position of authority, a seat. See, when you're going to uh the feast, everybody sits at a special place. We all sit at a special place. And that sit is reserved for just us. And he says, "And I want you to understand this." And I also want you to understand that when you were pagan, you were led by do idols that blocked your ability to hear, that blocked your ability to see, that blocked your ability to smell and taste and touch. And so because of that, you need deliverance in some of these areas so that you can be set free. And if you're not set free and you say, "Hey, I don't need it." Then you're going to have a problem. And the problem is in the scripture uh before us. Uh look at 1 Corinthians uh 11 verse 27-30. In 1 Corinthians 11:27-30, talking about our fellowship and and what we're commanded to do, the communion, he says, "Therefore, whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord." Now, it says that there's a proper way to take it in and there's a proper way and and and and and a a profane way of doing it. Verse 18, but let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread, partake of the word of God, and drink of the cup, the blood that Jesus shed for us. For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. And then look what it says in verse 30. For this reason, what is he talking about? What is he talking about? For this reason, because of failure to understand the our nature that is corrupted, for this reason many of you are weak and sick among you and many have died. So meaning that in the Lord in our table of fellowship that we have with the Lord, the bread is for the healing and the blood is for forgiveness. I don't care what illness any Christian has, he has a right to come to the table of the Lord. Look at uh Psalm 23. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemy. this table, that bread of healing is the bread, the body of Christ. It says Peter quoting uh Isaiah says by the stripes of Jesus, you were healed. When we partake of the bread, it's not necessarily the communion that can happen on the communion, but when we take the word of God that says, "I am the Lord that heals you." And we're facing cancer or we're facing some kind of destructive disease and we can partake of that word. With eyes that see, hallelujah, with ears that hear, with the ability to taste and see that the Lord is good, the smell of the blood of Jesus that was shed for us, we're able to touch the hymn of his garment and immediately were healed. But he says many of you because you're failing to understand that your position of authority and fellowship in Christ cannot be handled in the natural way. You see cannot be handled in the natural rational way of thinking. This is the mistake that most Christians make. Their ministry is based on the human senses. That's what James 3 said. He says the wisdom that comes from here is is it is it it is demonic. It is sensual. It is based on the senses. It's based on what you see and what you hear. And the Bible tells us uh uh not to lean into our own understanding. That there's a way that seemed right to a man and that the end is destruction. So then what Paul is saying before you can handle your position of fellowship and authority you better understand what the spiritual gifts are there for because the spiritual gift concerning spiritual gift is what's going to set you free. Now look at verse three. This this can trouble many people for a long time. 1 Corinthians 12:3 in first he says now concerning spiritual gift verse one brethren I do not want you to be ignorant verse two you know that when you were pagans you were carried away to these dumb idols wherever you were led therefore I make known to you and you have to make sure you you pay attention here I make known to you that no one speaking by the spirit Spirit of God calls Jesus a curse and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. Now that doesn't seem to make sense, does it? It is in a place there and it's standing all by itself and you say, "Man, what is that all about?" Well, that confirmed the scripture that I read to you in James chapter 3 where it says that there's two wisdoms. There's a wisdom that comes from above, peaceful, pure, and then there's a wisdom that come from this world which is based on sensual and demonic. That means that there are only two fountains. That means that there are only two wells. That means that there are only two sources. This is what it's talking about. And when we were pagans, guess what source we were drinking and flowing out of? Idolatry. And guess what? That idolatry brought
dumb. Can see, can hear, can smell, can taste, can touch. You see? And so now he's saying here that you cannot say that Jesus Christ is Lord unless the spirit of God is saying that through you. And you cannot say Jesus occurs if you're born again because you see only the pagans can say that because the spirit of God is in you will not allow you to say anything bad about Jesus because the spirit testified about Jesus. That's all he does. He's here for the purpose of Jesus. The spirit of God will never ever put in a Christian to say something bad about Jesus. Never. It can't. the spirit of God and in the same way in our own nature we can never say Jesus is Lord unless the spirit of God truth you see we we were dumb our eyes our ears everything was blocked we could not see we could not hear it took the spirit of God to connect us see when Jesus send the disciples and gave him power they came back what Lord we spoke in your name and demons went out said don't rejoice in that rejoice that you had the password to heaven Yeah. And it's your name. Your name is written in heaven. When you say in the name of Jesus, your voice registers in heaven and immediately shows that's Marcos. Whoever it is you're born again, your name is in is written in the register just like a computer. Just type in your password and guess what? If you're not connected, you're not going to get in. Okay? You got to be signed up. You got to have a password. Your name is your password. You cannot say Jesus is Lord unless the spirit of God is in you. That's why he said rejoice that your name is written in heaven. That when you pray by the power of the Holy Spirit immediately it is answered. But now remember Jesus speaking about this he says my sheep know my voice. said, "But there are thieves that tried to come in through through the fence or through the back door, but they're not allowed in." See, here on earth, you can do that. You can fool a lot of people. You know, you wear the right clothes, say the right things and everything, and man, you can build a a great following. But that doesn't fool God. You see, you you cannot say Jesus is Lord. And and since we're dealing with demons because you see super personally sick, you know, and you can talk a good talk and play a good game and you can preach a great service, you say in the name of Jesus, if the spirit of God is not ended, that demon is just sitting over there laughing at you eating popcorn or lighting up one or whatever it is they do. You have no authority. You have no power. You see, the only power that we have is the gift that God gives us. Because the gifts are the tools. are the weapons. The gift concerning spiritual gift are the weapons that God gives us to defeat or destroy the power of these things that work with us. And so what he's saying here is in the spirit realm, in the natural you can fool a lot of people, but in the spiritual realm you're either connected to one or the other source. You're either connected to the wisdom that comes from above. Your name is written in heaven. When you speak, there's authority in your voice and demons have to obey. Or you just pulling a game and you're doing, you know what the thing does? You're you're you're in for self-seeking. You know, you just heard of this this pastor that just retired and the church is building him a $10 million church, a 10,000 um uh uh square feet living and stuff like that. And yet all of the years he's been preaching about the poor, all of the poor people and and and how does that um and and and you know, but people can't see nothing wrong with that. And then you know, and you see that in how many other congregations, people that have, you know, mega mega churches and have this uh big big mansions and all that stuff. You never see Jesus do that because when he said he cared about the poor, he really cared about the poor. He says the son of man doesn't have a nest for the birds have nest for he said son of man doesn't have a house doesn't have a place he has one goal and the goal is deliver the people the the people that are bound he saw the people like sheep without a shepherd who were hassle and and being destroyed by by the enemy. So then
we get to the point now to where he says that there are diversity of gifts. Now we can understand how these gifts work. If you break them down and you have them there in your note, three of the gifts are called Ottoman's gift. And it is so important because the idols that we were under were dumb. They cannot speak. Okay. Order and gift. The every time you read in the book of Acts that the Holy Spirit fell on people, the first manifestation that came out of the people is they began to speak in other tongues. Now, why why is that? Why? Why is it that all of the sudden the Holy Spirit brought a prompting within the people to prophesy and to speak because before that you couldn't. It's just that simple. See, you were connected to a dead socket. It looked like a real one and everything and you were plugged in, but there was no juice flowing from there. You could not see, you could not hear, you could not smell, you could not taste. When you were plugged into the spirit of God, guess what? The light came on. Your mouth moved. You were able to speak. And what was it that they were speaking? The wonders of God. Because nobody can say anything about the wonders of God unless the spirit of God moves them. Hallelujah. So then the very first thing that the gift does is they give us the ability to speak in tongue, interpret tongues and prophesy all involve the mouth. Now as as you know many people have made religions of of this and and they do it in churches and you know we were brought up and and that kind of a thing. But if you really study that, this is all about selfification.
