DELIGHTING IN THE LAW OF THE LORD

Minister Lisa Kane

2025年6月29日

This teaching, rooted in Psalm 1:1–2, explores the blessings of delighting in the law of the Lord. Lisa Kane begins with prayer, emphasizing the power of God’s Word to transform lives. She explains that “blessed” means happy, and happiness comes from refusing ungodly counsel, avoiding the path of sinners, and not sitting with the scornful. Instead, believers are to seek counsel from the Bible and godly people, entering the secret place with the Lord for strength and renewal.

Through examples such as Paul and Silas worshipping in prison, she illustrates how joy can be present even in suffering when one abides in God’s Word. The teaching highlights the importance of meditation—keeping Scripture in thought day and night—as a way to cultivate peace, forgiveness, and fruitfulness. Like a tree planted by rivers of water, the believer prospers when rooted in God’s Word, bearing spiritual fruit and reflecting God’s love to others.

Kane contrasts the righteous with the ungodly, who are unstable and carried away by worldly trends. She reminds listeners of God’s ultimate judgment, stressing the need for repentance and intercessory prayer for the lost. Finally, she exhorts believers to prioritize time with God, to let His Word shape desires, and to walk in the joy and prosperity that come from seeking Him first.

The message closes with a prayer of thanksgiving for God’s transforming presence, urging believers to continue delighting in His law so that His love, peace, and power overflow in their lives.

Objective:

To encourage believers to discover true happiness and transformation by delighting in the Word of God, meditating on it day and night, and walking in His counsel rather than in the ways of the ungodly. The teaching aims to show that joy, peace, and prosperity flow from spending time in God’s presence, receiving His truth, and allowing the Holy Spirit to change hearts and minds.

Hello and welcome to the House of Faith Ministries. I'm Lisa Kane and I'm recording this teaching on Sunday, June 29th, 2025. Welcome. Let's open up in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word and we bless your word. Your word will not return void. And I thank you for that. I pray for the listeners of this teaching that their hearts and minds are prepared to see, hear, receive, and believe. and that your word ministers so deep that they cannot forget nor let it go. And I thank you for changing our lives and changing who we are and transforming us so that we do delight in your word. Thank you, Father God. In the glorious mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen. Amen. Amen. I'm glad you can join me today for today's teaching. I'm calling it delighting in the law of the Lord. Let us go here and we're going to start in um Psalm 1:es 1 and two. Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor siteth in the seat of the scornful. So, if you are new here and this is your first time um seeing how I teach. I am called to teach the word of God. I do teach the word of God. I'm going to show you here in the King James version. The words that are in bold print are the original words in the King James version. The ones next to the bold print in parenthesis are other words the translators could have used when translating the scriptures and they just didn't do choose those words. I add that in because I want you to get the full flavor of the original text because we are speaking a different language than what it was written in. Okay. So here in Psalm, we're going to be talking about delighting in the law of the Lord. And I I want you to see something here. Blessed is the man. That word blessed means happy. Happy is the man. If you ever wonder why you're not happy, this is why. It says here, happy is the man that walketh not in the counsel or the advice of the ungodly. In other words, you're getting your advice, your counsel from the word of God. You can't get it from the word of God if you don't know the word of God. So here we are clearly seeing that one of the blessings of spending time in the Lord, delighting in his law is walking in the counsel of godly righteous truth which is the holy bible. Now there are people who live in the holy bible. can quote scriptures to you left and right. Uh you can dwell with those people. They can be good counselors for you. But the best counsel that you have as a a person in ministry or even just a person just walking in the world doing whatever you want to do, your best advice comes from the Bible. And part of the problem is that you just don't know what the Bible says. So here I want you to understand you can have happiness. You can be happy. You know, there's a lot of people who teach that you can't be because when you're suffering with Christ, you can't be happy. I'm gonna tell you right now, Paul and Silas were in prison and those prisons were in the ground and it was full of feces and what have you after they were beaten up, which I'm sure they received no medical treatment for the beatings that they took because it was intentional to hurt. Make a point to Paul and Silas. And yet they began to worship the Lord in that atmosphere. They were happy and the Lord broke them out of their prison because of that happiness. So here, blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly. Meaning you are walking in the word of God with people who are also in the word of God. And when the two or three of you get together in the word of God, there is true happiness. This is where you begin to delight. This is why we take it very serious in entering into the secret place with the Lord. That is in Psalm 91. We come into the secret place with the Lord. This is this means that we we spend time with God in his Bible away from everybody else because we're trying to learn the scriptures. We're trying to let it minister to us. We're trying to let it come out of us. That is dwelling, delighting in the law of the Lord. And I promise you this that if you're new to that and you've been a believer though for a while, but you're starting to do your daily devotions, this is more than a devotional. It really is. This is actually spending time talking to him. One, so you're praying and then hearing from him, too, which is you're reading the word of God. And what you're doing is you're allowing the Holy Spirit to work in your mind. You're allowing the scriptures to just build up. So always remember, you can have happiness because you're walking in the right standing with the Lord. So if you feel an oppression coming on and you're just not feeling like you can do anything, let me tell you straight up. You tell that oppression to get lost and you say, "Listen, I spend time with the counsel of the Lord and I am happy because I'm blessed for doing that." Psalm 1:1. And you pray that scripture into that circumstance. Bam, you got power. You You have transformation that changes and takes place in you. Amen. So look at what it says here. Let let's let's break it down. So blessed are happy is a man that walketh not in the counsel of vice of the ungodly which is morally wrong. People who are morally wrong. So

let's just take a morally wrong situation. Let's say there's somebody who is a prolific uh liar. Somebody who lies all the time. You know this. You don't get advice from a liar. meaning you don't go get advice from the devil. Let's say you know somebody who is a chronic thief, a kleptomaniac. They're constantly just grabbing things and taking it with them or a hoarder or you know because and and people call it a sickness. Well, that sickness bows down to the name of Jesus, the son of the living God. This is where you stand and you stand on his word. So, you don't get advice from these who are doing that. You don't get advice from TV shows that aren't promoting the Lord Jesus. You don't get advice from the current uh social way of doing things. And my truth, my truth, I am well a man or a woman, opposite of whatever it is. I promise you, if you think you're a man, but you're biologically a woman, let me tell you something. And when you get through heaven, God is not going to address you by the sex that you want to be. He's going to address you by the sex he made you to be. This is a time where you need to get counsel from righteous, godly people. Don't go by the world. Do not follow the morally wrong situation. And by the way, I just taught last week that his righteous word, his godly righteousness is already built within our heart. We already have that righteousness. So you know what's morally wrong. Look what else it says here. Nor standeth or abide or appoint in the way of sinners.

You don't stand in the way of sinners. Wait, what? What? What? Let's break this down. I want you to understand that I am called to teach the word of God. I'm going to do my best here to teach, but the one who's talking to you is the Holy Spirit. So listen very carefully to what he's saying in your mind. Listen to the scripture. Look at what he says. Blessed is a man that walk not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor abide or appoints in the way of sinners. Doesn't stand in the way of sinners. So if somebody is intentionally sinning, guess what? Stand back. Stand away. Don't stand in their path. That's between them and God. It is not for us to try to make somebody righteous or holy. We're in the flesh. And in fact, all it does is open the door for them to judge you. And they will point it out, by the way. Instead, I highly recommend you pray for them because now you're dealing with, remember, we're dealing with in Ephesians 6, powers and principalities, rulers, uh, of the air. You're dealing with that kind of thing, which means you have to deal with it in the spiritual. So, don't physically stand in the way of the path of sinners, but go before the Lord in that sacred place and pray. Pray. Pray without ceasing. As first Thessalonians 5:17 tells us, pray without ceasing. Pray. And I promise you, prayer and fasting, by the way, when you enter into that with the Lord, that breaks all those powerful principalities that are in the air and around us that we have to follow and obey. There are rules and regulations both in the physical and the spiritual. For example, I cannot walk through the wall unless it's opened. Jesus can walk on water. He broke every rule that he came when he came into his own creation. That was his creation. His creation wasn't so that we can walk on water. We swim in water. But he decided to break that rule and walk on water. And it served his purpose in the moment. And nobody's walked on water since. So, and then he called Peter out at the same time. Remember how he did that? That was Jesus showing his showing his world to us and what the power and the authority he has which by the way we are joint hes with him. I know Philillip he suddenly disappeared when he was ministering to the unic and he ended up going to another town instantaneously. That's scripture you can go read it in acts. So don't want to stand in the way of sinners. Let the Lord deal with them. Nor siteth in the seat of the scornful. Oh those that mock us. They mock us. You don't have to mock them back. You don't have to say anything. Don't stand in their way. Let them mock. By the way, they're not mocking you. They're mocking God. And let's realize what's the most important thing. We don't want anyone to go to hell. What we want is for them to get saved, which means prayer. I I cannot, you know, for the last couple of years, if not longer, I have been emphasizing spending time in the secret place with the Lord and prayer. This is the time to pray. This is why we need to change in our heart to delight in the law of the Lord. We need to delight. How do you delight in something? You let the Holy Spirit change you. you instead of getting mad and hating those that are pointing at you, you don't see their faces. Look at the demonic activity behind them. That's of the devil. That's your enemy. So delight in his law. Let the Lord change you so that you can forgive them, which stops every single attack. It stops it. The moment you forgive him, it stops that attack. Oh, I love that. That is so powerful. And we as believers have that and we can do that. So, and we can be happy about it because we walk with the Lord in the secret place with the transformation that he made in our hearts and minds. Here we are changed, transformed where we love one another and that we forgive one another. Amen. Now continuing on two verse two. But his delight is in the law of the Lord and in his law does he meditate day and night. Let's talk about the law of the Lord. We know that Jesus fulfilled the law. The law tells us we are sinners. But see, we now have a different law to follow. We follow Jesus and he is the one who shows love. He shows mercy. He will forgive anyone of anything ever. That is the opportunity that we have. And notice what it says here. It says to meditate day and night. How do you meditate on Sunday? It's got to be in your thoughts. You got to be thinking about it. And how do you think about it? You are constantly remembering his word. You Sometimes I'll as I'm going to sleep at night, I don't fall asleep right away. I'll be laying there and I'll think of an event like Jesus walking on water and visualizing trying to visualize Peter coming out of that that boat to get on the water wondering how big the boat was. What what was he doing at that time? I mean, how was he feeling at that time? He looked like he was scared, but he had his eyes fixed on Jesus. And as he was walking with Jesus and he was meditating. See he was focused on Jesus then he can walk on the water. The law of the spirit realm that Jesus has given us as joint hes. You know the power of our tongue we can speak blessings or cursings. This is why it's very important to allow the Lord to change us by meditating, delighting in his law so that we can be the overcomer and stop the attacks and be happy about it. That's that's a blessing that we have. Look what it says here in Psalm 37:4. Delight thyself also in the Lord, and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. I'm going to tell you right now, I don't like it when somebody mocks me or scorns me. I don't like that. But see, because I forgave them, it stopped. I had the desire in my heart. But the desire of my heart had to change because I had to meditate on him to find out what that was. Otherwise, I I would not have known that. And maybe a preacher is preaching it out there. I don't know. All I know is that I found out because I spent time in the word of God. Oh, hallelujah. Hallelujah. Going back to Psalm 1 in verse three. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that bringeth forth his fruit in his season. You see, there's a time to meditate and there's a time to be in that peaceful moment. You're at peace when you're meditating. You're delighting in the law. You're reading his word and it thrills you. And what it does, you become so relaxed physically because you have entered into a peaceful calming moment where all hell may be breaking out in the world, but you are in this peaceful moment. You're like a tree planted by a river. And as your fruit grows and matures, because now you're beginning to love others because God, you can't love without God. You have to have his love enter you. That's a fruit of the spirit. Same with self-control. All of these fruits have to manifest out of you. How do they do that? You have to let them grow. So, it has to be a seed that planted. I had the epiphany that God loves terrorists just as much as he loves me. And I'm going to tell you that was a very strong epiphany. That was a seed. That was just the seed. And the fruit gets bigger and bigger because now that I pray for them because I love them, because my Lord loves them, it changes the dynamics of everything. And I'm at peace. I am happy. I am delighted to be in that. And I become more of this tree and the fruits hanging on my branches. And guess what happens as I go places that fruit is available and it's eye-catching. It's very tantalizing. Somebody wants to grab it. They want to say, "What is it that you have?" Because when you're at peace like that, there's no sin. There's no corruption within your your bones. You are healed. You're happy. Being happy is having good health. Being happy is having him manifest out of you. And it is just absolutely thrilling. I love that. And it says here, "His leaf also shall not wither." Now you've got these glossy leaves there. It's very attractive. You're not withering. And people see it, they know it, they want it. And then they ask you, "What is it that you do? How do you do this?" And I tell them I delight in his law. I meditate day and night in the you know the first thing what I do when I wake up every morning is I pray and read my Bible. The second thing I do at the end of the day is I read and pray my Bible before I go to sleep. So before I wake or when I wake and when I sleep those are the times I spend with the Lord. And that's not the only time. Believe you and me throughout the day I am dealing there I I deal with all kinds of things but there's a lot of spiritual and physical things that we deal with every day. You have to pray every day and I'm an intercessory prayer warrior. I go in and I am praying. And so I don't just pray for the things I'm obligated to pray for that I've committed to with the Lord, but I also pray for things that the Lord brings in my way because I'm already happy and I'm hoping they would be happy too. I want people to experience the love of God. Because see, once you know the love of God, it changes your whole perspective of what the word of God is, how the Bible works, and it it helps you understand end time prophecy better because it just makes more sense. Because when you see his love move, now you know what God is going to do because he walks in his own love. Oh, hallelujah. and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. I prosper. I love this. That word prosper there means push forward or break out. So whatever you're you're going to break out of it. So if somebody's scoffing you and mocking you and you forgive them and you pray for them, whether in secret or just as a confrontation, whatever it is, you're breaking out of that. You're saying that is not going to bind me. I am not going to live in bondage to that. Oh hallelujah. That is what is so incredible when you can break out of that. You're happy because you're delighting in the word of God and you're putting him first because he's taught you that because of the transformation he has made in you. Your fruit is growing and it's multiplying and now you're also starting to walk with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. This is delighting in the law of the Lord. Verse four, the ungodly are not so, but are like the shaft which the wind driveth away. You know, when you um go to Israel or pretty much anywhere uh when they're harvesting the wheat and the tears, the one floats, that's the tears. The wheat goes down to the ground. So, they blow it up to the wind to separate the two. So, the ungodly are people who are morally wrong. They're going to with with the social lies and latest teaching, they're going to fall for it left and right. The latest things, what is a woman? Can't identify a woman. So now you ask, well, what is a woman? Something we all knew when we were toddlers. We were taught who's a girl, who's a boy, how we knew the difference. And yet today, I don't know what a woman is or I don't know what a man is. they have this. So, they go with the wind. They go with the latest doctrine, whatever it may be. That's morally wrong. And they're not going to be happy. They're not going to know who God is. They're suffering from that. But yet, all of us who choose to delight in the law, meditate in his presence, we begin to know who God is. And look at what Jeremiah 29:11 says. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, sayeth the Lord. Thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you an expected end. Love that expected end. That's a hope. You have a hope because he's hoping in you. He's trying to convince you. And see, the more time you spend with him, man, it's so motivating. It's uplifting. You just you can't help yourself. You've got to put God first. And you got to go get back go back to get more because you're thirsty and hungry. who want more of him and become you kind of become addicted to his word. You delight in it and it is so happy making. It is so peacemaking and you're prosperous at the same time. Look at what Psalm 35:27 says. Let them shout for joy and be glad that favor my righteous cause. Yeah. Let them say continually, let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. You see, God has pleasure in knowing that you're safe and at peace. That's his delight. His delight is in you when you have safety and peace. That is the God of whom we serve. And you get to learn that and know that because you're spending time with him. You make him a priority. Remember what Matthew 6:33 says, "Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness." You can't walk in the kingdom of God unless you're meditating on his word. You can't be righteous unless his righteousness is in you because you know you're forgiven and he has covered you. Then all these things will be added unto you. You have the right to be blessed. You have the right to be happy, safe, and at peace. That is what God wants for you. And don't let anyone ever tell you that. Now, some people think, "Well, in order for me to be happy, I have to have money." No, you don't. Now, I will tell you this much that God does give righteous people financial blessings, too. Don't tell them you can't have financial freedom. You You can God put you in ministry for that. Not everyone can have that, but some can. Because some people just give out money like it's nothing, like it's just candy, whereas some others will hoard it. There's a big difference in the heart of the two. Again, we're talking about being or delighting in the law of the Lord where we're happy. So, it isn't about the money. It's about him who provides peace and safety. And he makes certain that we're at peace and safety. Going back to chapter one in Psalm verse 5, therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment. Look at this. This is very interesting. Therefore, the ungodly who are morally wrong, these are the morally wrong people, shall not stand in the verdict. Let let me make something very clear about this scripture so that you have an understanding. There are two different judgments in the world. Uh the moment you die, you're judged. And this is where you're going to be judged where your name is written in the books lamb's book of life or not. If it isn't, you automatically are out of the presence of the Lord and you are in hell. But then everyone's going to be taken out of hell and they will be judged in the end. And all the righteous people who do not have to go through that judgment will be showing the interactions that we tried to get you saved. We tried to show you the word but you kept rejecting, rejecting, rejecting. That's going to be on you and then you're going to go back to hell after that. So there's that type of judgment. Then there's the type of judgment for the righteous where again if our name's written in the lamb's book of life, we're going to be there's a burning fire that goes around and whether wood, hay, stubble, all that will burn away. But what we have in gold or or precious metals will survive. Our crown of salvation will be there. Our crown of righteousness will be there. We will have those blessings and that's a different kind of judgment. So you cannot be judged or get to that point of judgment if you can't even pass the lamb's book of life by calling on the name of the Lord. So this is a time where we need to repent and say Lord save us. And then as for the rest of us who are delighting in the Lord we need to be interceding for those and saying Lord here I'm going hold their hand spiritually with mine and say Lord come into our hearts and be our Lord and Savior. You can intercede and intervene on their behalf in the spirit because whatever you loose in heaven is loosed on earth. Whatever you bind in heaven is bound on earth. We have that authority as co uh co-join hes with Christ. Amen. Hallelujah. Um nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. You see there's a big difference here. So therefore, the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. They don't want to congregate with you because you stand for God. They're going to mock you. Oh, you holier than thou person. Well, thank you very much. I take it as a compliment. They didn't mean it that way. But you see, when you're delighting in the Lord, you're happy and at peace. They cannot be and they cannot even stand to be in your presence because God is manifesting himself through you. Amen. Verse six, for the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish. The Lord knoweth the He recognizes the way of the righteous. He recognizes who we are. He knows because if you know him, he knows you because you two are meditating together, delighting in his law. He is teaching you. He knows you and you know him. Question I have for you is, are you sure he knows you? Are you spending time with him? Are you delighted? Are you even happy? Can you even say that you're happy? It takes knowing the Lord and letting him manifest in you for that happiness. And then look what it says here. Uh but the way of the ungodly shall perish or loses oneself. This is why they can't identify who even they are. They don't know if they're a woman. They don't know if they're a man. They don't know because they're not delighting in the law of the Lord. So they are going, they are losing their selves. They're perishing. And it's because they're not delighting in the law of the Lord, letting him transform them and change them. Proverbs 16:27, "An ungodly man digth up evil evil or he plots evil and in his lips there's a burning fire." You see, an ungodly man is just thinking about ways of how to hurt you, how to hurt other people because he's hurt. He or she is hurting. They want to hurt you so that you are at their level because they don't want to strive to get to your level. But see, keep delighting in the law of the Lord. Keep meditating in his presence because that's where you're going to be happy. And that's where you can pray for them. This is a time to pray for your loved ones, family members that scoff and mock you because family members do that. Uh co-workers, they laugh at what you believe in. That's what their intent is is to bring you down to their level and then try to usurp themselves above you and but that's not the way of the Lord. The way of the Lord is when you delight in his word. Psalm 98 and he shall judge the world in righteousness. He shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness. You see, God is already he's their judge. He's going to judge them. Not you and me. You and I are going to stand in the presence of the Lord and we're going to partner with him and maybe someday rule. That is scriptural. I know that the martyrs will at the end of Revelation there. But I know how much he loves us. He loves us so much that he wants to spend time with you. And when you spend time with him, you will be happy. You will have peace and you will be safe. You don't have to live in the drama of this world. Amen. Let's close in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word, and we bless your word. Your word is worthy, faithful, true, and honorable. And it it makes me hunger and thirst more for you. It's very addicting, Father God. And I thank you for that. I rather walk in right standing with you and pray for others because you have love for them. and your love for me is so great that I just am so thankful for it. Thank you for your word. Thank you for your presence. And thank you for transforming me in as I spend time with you in the secret place. Thank you for that transformation because I'm letting your love manifest out of me. And I'm just praying that others will see that and will spend time with you and ask for that love to be in their heart as well. Thank you, Lord. In the glorious name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Amen. Amen. God bless you. I will see you in the next teaching.
