THE CANA OF GALILEE WEDDING

Objective:
The objective of this teaching is to uncover the deeper revelation within the account of Jesus’ first miracle at the wedding in Cana, showing how identifying problems, leaning into Jesus with them, and applying the spoken Word of God activates the miraculous. The teaching aims to equip believers to discern spiritual needs, apply Scripture in prayer, and partner with the Holy Spirit to manifest God’s glory in everyday life.
Synopsis:
This message, drawn from John 2, explores the significance of Jesus turning water into wine at the wedding in Cana of Galilee. Lisa Kane begins by setting the context: the wedding takes place after Jesus’ baptism, His wilderness temptation, and the calling of His disciples. The third-day reference connects both to Jewish Passover timing and to prophetic layers pointing to God’s redemptive plan.
The heart of the teaching focuses on Mary’s discernment. She identifies the lack of wine—a symbol of insufficiency—and brings the problem to Jesus. This models how believers today must notice the needs around them, whether in people’s health, circumstances, or spiritual condition, and immediately bring those concerns before the Lord. Jesus’ exchange with Mary highlights the importance of faith and obedience: while His “hour” had not yet come, the miracle is released when the servants follow His word.
Lisa explains that the water pots symbolize believers filled with the Word of God, ready for the Spirit to transform the “water” into the “wine” of new life, joy, and the power of the Holy Spirit. Just as the servants obeyed and witnessed the miracle, believers partner with Jesus by declaring His Word in faith, releasing God’s power into situations. The teaching emphasizes that miracles manifest not by human works but through faith, obedience, and the authority of Jesus’ name.
The account concludes with two outcomes: the bridegroom’s reputation is saved and the disciples believe in Jesus. This demonstrates Jesus’ nature as Savior—concerned with both practical and eternal matters—and the role of miracles in building faith. The message closes by calling believers to walk in right standing with God, apply His Word over identified needs, and actively partner with the Holy Spirit in these end times to bring salvation, healing, and deliverance to others.
Inspired Teaching - Written and/or Transcribed from Video Above:
Hello and welcome to the House of Faith Ministries. I'm Lisa Kaine and I'm recording this teaching on Saturday, May 10th, 2025. Welcome and happy Mother's Day to all who are out there. Mother's Day is tomorrow. So, let's open up in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word and we pray that you prepare our ears and eyes to hear and see your word. We pray that our hearts are open to receive your word and our minds that we understand the knowledge of your word. And we pray, Father God, as we learn to spot and see the little things that we need to lean in and teach or share with you and and pray about. Lord, teach us how to do that and how to see your spirit move and answer the issues that we see. Thank you. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen. Amen. Okay. So, this message I'm calling the Canaa of Galilee wedding. So, let's uh uh just read here verse one real quick. We're in John chapter 2. So, verse one. In the third day, there was a marriage in Canaa of Galilee. And the word Galilee, the name of the city there means the heathen circle, and the mother of Jesus was there. So, we're I I want to lay down some context for you. By the way, this is a very good teaching and you are going to enjoy this because there's some great revelation in this. I have been reading this chapter for many years and every time I read it, I always knew there's something more there. So, a week and a half ago, I picked it up and I was reading it. I go, "What is it, Lord, that I'm missing?" And then I got this revelation and I thought, "Oh, I'm going to teach on this." So, that's why I'm here. So context it says it starts off with the third day. So first uh things we need to understand is this wedding is only listed in the gospel of John. It's not in the other three gospels and that um he starts off with the third day and it's it is like out of the blue and the third day where did the third day come from? So if you go further in the chapter after the the wedding you will find that they are on their way to Passover. So the third day references the Passover month and this is the third day the Passovers I think on the 14th of each month. So that's where that's why he references it this way. It is referenced for those that are Jewish who know about the Passover. They're going to get the whole context as they read it. Okay. So I'm trying to add that in here. So one of the things we do know is that uh Jesus has already selected all 12 of his disciples. He's already been waterbaptized and he's already dealt with Satan in the wilderness in the temptation. So now the third day could also mean that three days after that here he is. I don't know. But this is uh the the timing is right in there at this this time of this wedding. So let's let's take a look at a couple things here. So let's read these first three verses. So on the third day there was a marriage in Canaan of Galilee the heathen circle and the mother of Jesus was there and both Jesus was called and his disciples which means pupil to the marriage and when they wanted wine the mother of Jesus saith unto him they have no wine. Okay so first thing is they have no wine at a wedding or they ran out of wine where again we're not given a whole lot of details here. John is just kind of giving us the flavor of the event. But, you know, you can think this through and figure it out. I mean, here they're at a wedding. So, this has to be either a very good friend or a family member at this wedding that they're at. In fact, it's so much so that even the 12 disciples come with Jesus. So, they're all accepted. And when you go through this, you wonder, is this uh uh somebody of importance that's getting married because you've got all this these people that got invited. But there's something interesting about that. They ran out of wine or they didn't have wine and they wanted wine. The people the the visiting um all the people that have been invited. to the invitees. They're all in there, the inviters, they're all in there in this wedding and they are um desiring to have wine. That's the context behind this. And Mary notices something. They have no wine. So now you have to ask yourself, why is this a person that has been living like the Joneses where they're trying to keep up with everyone? They're trying to show off all the stuff that they they've got when the reality is that they don't. And now the world is coming crashing down on them because they're being they're setting themselves up for failure, which is what do what what do us believers and non-believers do? We set ourselves up for failure sometimes. So, but Jesus is invited and he's part of this wedding. So, it's like being a believer here. So, but I want you to see some very interesting things here. Mary says they have no wine. She identified a problem. Now, as a believer in Christ, problems come across our daily life all the time. Uh it could be, "Oh, we have to go get groceries. Oh, um I heard so and so doesn't have groceries." "Oh, I heard someone's in the hospital." or oh t you know you see someone at church or you see someone at an event and you look and you think oh they don't look very well you in your mind because the Holy Spirit is talking to you and I'm talking to believers you notice a problem so G uh Mary notice the problem that's us we we can see the problems this is why we have the skill to judge and we do it well don't we look what she says though she leans to Jesus and says they have no wine. And then Jesus says to her, Jesus saith unto her in verse four, what have I to do with thee? Mine hour is not yet come or has arrived yet. So Mary does something very interesting. She identifies the problem and she leans into Jesus and tells him the problem. She says they have no wine. So imagine if you saw somebody who didn't look well or something was up. You say, "Jesus, look, that person looks sick."
Imagine if you did that with everything you saw as the problems came across, a whole bunch of sirens going by. You're looking at watching the news and the news, the newscaster don't look right. Something's not something's off. See, your mind, the Holy Spirit is talking to you and telling you, "Here's a problem. and you lean into Jesus. Do you see this problem? Jesus. Now, Jesus responded because see, remember Jesus is in the flesh here today. Jesus is already crucified. He's in heaven. So, you and I can immediately lean in and say, "Jesus, did you see this? Do you see?" Maybe it's a coworker at work. They're struggling. They tell you something, but they don't tell you everything. Just enough for you to realize there's a problem. So that's what we do as believers. We're to identify the problem and give it to Jesus. Now Jesus here in the flesh, he's saying, you know what, my hour is not yet coming. He is ready for his hour, but he wasn't ready. But here's the thing is that he decides I love Jesus how he does this. Jesus breaks all kinds of rules. If you read the gospels and you find out, you know, when he walked on water, he he calmed the storm, he raised the dead, he healed the sick, he was breaking all kinds of rules and regulations, you know, um consequence of sin is consequence of sin. But Jesus came to forgive and he forgives. So he was just once he defeated the devil out in the wilderness and overcame him through the temptation, he had all authority to do whatever it is in whatever region he wanted to go to because he dealt with the head honcho Jesus. See, when you're baptized, I'm going to digress a little bit here. When you're waterbaptized, and Jesus was water baptized, the Holy Spirit landed on him. That's what happens when you get water baptized. Yes, you're acknowledging to everyone around you that you're a Christian, but the Holy Spirit is coming on you and now you are ready to go do deal with spiritual battle and usually that's the first thing you deal with right after you're water baptized. So Jesus dealt with that. So he's saying, "Well, my hour's not come." But he takes advantage of it because she's doing something Jesus wants us to see. You identify a problem. Hey Jesus, she just said that she was given a diagnosis of cancer. So you see, you acknowledge the problem to Jesus. So now look what he says. Look what happens here next in verse five. His mother, this is Mary, says unto the servants, and servants are those who do their errands, whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. Wait a second here. Didn't just Didn't Jesus just say he isn't ready for this? Look at that. My hour is not yet come. But yet she says to the servants, "You do everything he says." Watch the revelation here. This is so good. See, she already told Jesus they have no wine. She told them about the problem. Now, she's going to use the spoken word of Jesus to activate the miracle. Now, do we have Jesus sitting right next to us? You betcha. But we've got something better. We got the word of God where he already spoke the word. So now, when you hear somebody gets a diagnosis of cancer, what's the thing that you can do? You say, "Jesus, look, they got this diagnosis." But you know what, Jesus? And you're and you start talking to his servants, which are the angels, isn't aren't they those who serve and minister to us, minister to Jesus? So now you tell the servants, "Hey, Jesus word says, by my stripes you're healed." Peter wrote it. By his stripes, you're healed. So Jesus speaks the healing word. And so what Mary's doing is she's saying, "Hey angels, do as he says." Now let's go a little further and let's check it out. Where am I? Whatsoever he says, do it. So now verse six says, "And there were set there six water pots of stone after the manner of the purifying or washing off of the Jews containing two or three firins." It's a measuring piece, a measurer, a piece of that. Jesus saith unto them, "Fill the water pots with water." So he gives a spoken word. His word here is to fill the water pots of water for cleansing. Remember, these water pots are for cleansing. So, he's saying here, I want you to fill this up with water. Now, the water, by the way, is the living word of God. So, now he's saying, I want these water pots. Now, we're the water pots. So even though we're uh in the shoes of Mary identifying the problem, we have to be ready and filled with that water from the word of God. So we know what words to speak on behalf of Jesus in his name. And so he tells the servants, "Fill the water pots with water." Now look at what the what happened next. He says, "And they filled them up to the brim. They obeyed Jesus." See, all the angels, all the demons have to obey Jesus. So when you have been given the authority to speak in the name of Jesus and we have, what happens is they have to do what we say. So when we say by his stripes you were healed, we're saying it to that person. We're we're actually speaking to the angels and and the Holy Spirit and we're saying, "Hey, by his stripes we're healed. Go." And so here's the next part. Look says, "And he saith unto them," because there's a second part here. He says, "Draw out or dip the water now bear unto the governor, which is the director of the entertainment there of the feast, and they bear it." So now the spoken word, they have to obey the spoken word. The spoken word says, "By his stripes were healed." I'm using that as an example. You can apply this to anything. And so now you've got to draw it out. So when you're speaking the word of God in the authority of Jesus, Holy Spirit, dip your presence into the word and take it to that person. Let them sip that water. Let them taste that water. Be filled with that water. And what happens? Because the water turns to wine. When you are filled with the Holy Spirit, it feels like you get drunk on wine. It's like you were a drunken person. When the fire of the Holy Spirit made his presence on the 120 in the upper room after Jesus ascended, everyone thought they were drunk. So the ho the wine comes in and fills that person. Oh, I hope you guys are getting this because this is incredible. So, the drawing out though is the activation of it. You're saying go to that person. This person was diagnosed. They're you're you're identifying the problem and you're saying Lord Jesus and you're saying not by might uh not by might nor by power but by my spirit says the Lord. are saying, "No weapon formed against me or them shall prosper. The gates of hell shall not prevail." You have all of these scriptures, all of these blessings which are spoken by the Holy Spirit, the word of God, Jesus. He has introduced all these words to those who wrote the word of God. And what's happening is now you have the authority to speak all of that onto a situation that the Holy Spirit caused you to identify. It came into your mind and so you start praying for that person or you start praying for that person and it you don't even have to see a problem. What if you just want to bless them or or you know they're an unbeliever and you're just like, "Holy Spirit, send your, you know, Jesus, send your strong angels. Send your Holy Spirit. Speak to their heart and mind. Keep knocking on that door loudly because Jesus says, "I not stand at the door and knock." See, you apply the scripture in what you're praying into the issue, the problem that you identify because the Holy Spirit identified that issue for you. Oh, hallelujah. Hallelujah. So, now here's something comes out is very interesting. Verse N. When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it came, whence it was, but the servants which drew the water knew, the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, and saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine. And when men have well drunk, then that which is worse, but thou has kept the good wine until now. There's two things here. One, the servants saw what happened. And I'm gonna tell you right now, they believe. Okay? They immediately believe. But you're gonna find out that the disciples became believers of the second. This this guy's in charge of the wedding. This this person, he's in charge of all the entertainment there. And somehow they ran out of wine. They found wine because Jesus turned the water into wine. And they bring it to him. And he's telling the bridegroom because he's thinking the bridegroom went and got the wine. And so he says, Now, the bridegroom has to be standing there looking at this guy going, "What just happened?" Because he doesn't know what happened. He's sitting there perplexed. He's shocked. And by the way, this saves the bridegroom from embarrassment of running out of wine at a feast because you invited all these people. In a way, he was taking a leap of faith if you want to go that direction with it. You know, we because we don't know why they didn't have wine. We don't know if someone came and stole it. We don't know if the servants knocked it over, spilled it. We don't know what happened. They just had the We know the problem was they had no wine per Mary. That's it. See, you don't need to know all the details of why that person is hurting or how they're hurting. All you know is you see the situation. They need prayer. And so you say to Jesus, you see that they look down. They look like they're dealing with depression. You know what, Lord Jesus, let the joy of the Lord fill their heart. Holy Spirit, draw on that and take that word to them. Let them hear. Let them taste that wine and let them get filled with the Holy Spirit. That's how this works. So as somebody walking in faith, you see a problem, you identify it, you give it to the Lord and then you apply it and things begin to happen. Look at here in verse 11. This beginning of miracles or wonders did Jesus in Canaa of Galilee and manifested forth his glory and his disciples believed on him. So this is the first miracle that they say he did. So he took advantage of this and he saved that bridegroom. See Jesus is all about salvation. That's what he's about. So here he manifested his glory because he spoke his word which is he is king of glory. Everything that is in the Bible is to his glory. So he was glorified. He glorified by him speaking the word and creating the answer to the problem that Mary saw. Then look at this the last part here. and his disciples believed on him. And that is what the whole purpose of Jesus started because he needed in order for the spirit of healing and deliverance to manifest in a region, the people need to believe because their faith has to come up because it is by faith that God operates on that. He doesn't operate by your works. You can do all the works you want in the world, but it is by his faith. So when you activate his faith by speaking a word, you don't know what's going to happen. You know, it's interesting to see some people get healed, some people don't. And you know, the question is, well, why is that? And in my personal belief, that's because lack of faith. If you don't get healed, it's because you don't have any faith. You're not believing. The word faith is means to believe. So once you believe so Jesus has to work in the region. So he first defeated the devil which removed the the the mask the the blindfold of the people in that region because you know they've been under oppression from you know that 400 years of silence before this time. Uh they hadn't heard anything from a prophet or anyone. There's just 400 years of silence from the end of the last prophet who spoke and to when Jesus did this first miracle. Well, up until um Elizabeth and Mary were pregnant. So that's when they started seeing and you know they started the the the spirit started moving and speaking to them. So all all these people are under this kind of impression. They're like God's not talking right now. I haven't heard anything. So Jesus has to bring up their faith. So if you're interested in in entering into a ministry that goes above and beyond your relationship with the Lord, then this is one way to do it. I mean is by our faith that heals us. That's one way. But that's not all the ways. Sometimes God just wants to do it for whatever reason. And you and I will never know just because you know he doesn't need to tell us. I'm sure that bridegroom was standing there because you know this got recorded in John. So my guess is either John knew this or or that bridegroom found out somehow someway and it got recorded. So once he found out he was like, "Thank you, Jesus. Thank you. You saved my day." Because we don't know who this bridegroom was. We don't know uh if he was in debt and he couldn't afford the wine, but he kept inviting the people. We don't know if he even invited the people just on faith alone going, "Well, I'm going to have to believe that somehow someway we can feed everybody and get it taken care of." Well, Jesus met that. If that's the case, this is the p the whole thing. This is a powerful teaching. This is so amazing to see Jesus who came to hopes to save the world. He wanted to save us all. That's what he came to do. And here you get to see that Jesus came to see to save people. He saved the bridegroom. It's the very first thing he did. He saved his reputation. He saved and he did it through his mother who identified the problem. I don't think he would have ever done anything had she not done that. So this is where we come in. We partner with Jesus. We've been given the authority to speak his word through his name. And all the servants out there, all the ministering angels have to obey. They're required by the spiritual laws that are in existence for this to obey the name of Jesus. And by the way, they will test the name of Jesus. You know, they're going to uh God in heaven say, "Hey, you know what? I don't think this person believes." And Jesus will reaffirm. Yep, they do. Got to go do what they say. So, we have to learn to say the word of God in the situations to begin to see the miracles begin to move again. And I believe we're not done with miracles. And you know, I do know that Joel 2, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit was going to take place. And it did take place there in Acts when the 120 were filled with the Holy Spirit. God's not done yet. one, his spirit of salvation continues on. So people are getting saved every day and you see that people are being martyed every day. You see that in the news if you're look if you're looking if you're not paying attention, you're not seeing this, but it's happening there. So now we're having to wait on the Lord. No, I think he's waiting on you and me. He's saying, I want you to identify the problems and then I want you to pray my spirit into it. Pray my word into it. The word of God is the power and the authority and that is what makes it happen. That's what makes things work. And by the way, you can see that especially if you put God first in your life. It says in Matthew 6:33, "Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, then all these things are added unto you." Seek first the kingdom of God. You identify a problem. Oh, look, so and so needs help. That's seeking the kingdom of God because you're trying to help the kingdom of God keep moving and then your righteous his righteousness. So you need to get yourself right standing with God to activate all this in your own life. And so when you're ministering to those out there, interceding on their behalf, applying the word, and praying, you need to be following up and making certain that one, you're standing righteousness because now you have the right to go to God says, "Listen, Lord, you you've already declared me righteous and I have been doing right. I have done right in your sight." And you if you know the last few teachings I've taught on, I have taught that where Hezekiah's head to the Lord. I've done right. And the Lord gave him another 15 years. You have the right to go to God and say, "I have been doing right." And see, he responds because that's faith. Because you're saying, "Now, you said to ask, and I'm asking. I'm asking you to heal that person. I'm asking you to bring them to salvation." And you know what? It may not happen in the next hour. It may not happen in a couple of days. But it will happen because the spoken word has gone forth. Remember Daniel, it took 21 days for the spirit to break through. But he was fasting and that was a big breakthrough. So you can even fast into your prayers and into the word of God and add that in it. And that causes the spirit to break through, the angel to break through, the one that's coming to do the healing because you're dealing with spiritual warfare that is out there. Oh, this is awesome. I I hope you guys are blessed by the revelation of this word because right now we are nearing the the end times. We are in the end times and we're in that generation that saw Matthew 24, the beginning of the birth panges come to pass. and we're that generation is not going to pass away. So that means sometime in our lifetime, the Lord is going to return. So now's the time to humble yourself, get your right standing with God because then that's going to activate all this stuff. And when you're in right standing, all these things are added unto you. So the Lord will bless you and keep you from all of the hell that's going on around us. So he he will provide. He will meet every need. You will see that. And by the way, he says to test him down in Malachi 3 when you're tithing. This is also part of tithing. You're tithing your spirit to the Lord because you're spending time with him. You're you're tithing prayer unto the Lord. That's what all this is about. And he says, "Test me and I will show you your storehouses will not even be able to hold the abundance that I will give you." That's our God. So I encourage you to one start identifying problems. Speak the problem to Jesus. Hey Jesus, did you see that? I'm seeing that. What can we do about it? Okay, let me get into your word. What scripture can I apply? And see when you're seeking his relation, you're having the relationship. Learn those scriptures so you can immediately speak them. It's great having the phone and and doing the search on there for a scripture that will apply, but if you begin to memorize them and begin to know them and begin to quote them, it becomes natural to manifest out of you. And that's that right standing giving you the authority and the right to go before God say, "You said to ask, I'm asking for his healing. I'm declaring his healing. I'm speaking in the name of Jesus his healing." That is what we have at our fingertips. Oh, and what a beautiful way for Jesus to show it. And so here in these end times, most important thing right now is to show love and let's get as many people saved. Let's water and plant and and get the seed of the word of God out there so that people can start germinating and becoming believers in the word of God. We need that now. Because once he returns, he's going to pour out his wrath on this earth. And we don't want to be here, one for that, and two, we don't want anyone to be here for that. Even though it's prophesied, people are going to be here for that. But let's see how many we can get saved before then. Amen. Let's close in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word and we bless your word and that it does not return void. And we pray that you help us activate your word in our prayers and to pray that over the areas. Open our eyes to see those areas, those hurting so that we can speak to them and speak to them in the spirit through your word, to send healings, to send comfort, to send loves, to send deliverance so that they're not dealing with whatever it is that they're dealing with. Thank you, Lord. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen. Amen. God bless you and I'll see you in the next message. Bye bye.
