- GODS DWELLING PLACE renamed | HoFM
House of Faith Ministries (HoFM) presents a teaching on Psalm 43:3 “Oh, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me; let them bring me to Your holy hill and to Your tabernacle (dwelling place).” Top of Page GOD’S DWELLING PLACE Psalm 43:3 “Oh, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me; let them bring me to Your holy hill and to Your tabernacle (dwelling place).” There has always been oppression from God’s enemy Satan against those whose desire is to do God’s will. In many instances some even experience greater persecution than others. It is like that today as well. But there is a kind of persecution that those who experience it, feel like they have been personally targeted. And it soon becomes obvious to them that in order for them to be delivered from such persecution that they need to be personally vindicated. 1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear (endure) it.” It is true that all persecution is such as that which is common to man. But it is also true that some are able to endure more than others, so that the intensity of the persecution may vary from one individual to another. 2 Corinthians 12:7 “And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.” It is also true that for those who are seeking and receiving spiritual revelation from the Lord, in order to keep their pride at bay, the Lord allows them to endure greater persecution than others, but never more than that which they are able to endure. We see this with people who are placed in high positions of spiritual authority. They have to endure greater waves of persecution, in order to keep them from giving into the pride that follows their high position which would cause them to fall. That is why the Bible warns against installing untested novices in high positions of authority, for they will not be able to endure the level of persecution that naturally follows such high positions. Psalm 43:1 “Vindicate me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation; Oh, deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man!” It is clear from the opening of Psalm forty-three, that the psalmist is dealing with the kind of persecution that has targeted him personally. Here we see an opportunity to learn how to deal with this kind of personal persecution and how to discern the difference between this kind of persecution and that which is common to man. It appears that the origin of this temptation was an ungodly nation who had targeted individuals like the writer of this Psalm for personal attacks. It also involved a deceitful and unjust man who was personally, unjustly, and deceitfully, attacking the writer of this Psalm and those like him. Psalm 42:10 “As with a breaking of my bones, my enemies reproach (revile) me, while they say to me all day long, ‘Where is your God?’” The difference between the temptations which are commonly natural to all believers, and the persecutions that arise out of an ungodly nation is the unleashing of the demonic hordes that are able to afflict a nation who has turned from God to the wickedness of this world. Proverbs 14:34 “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” These demonic hordes target those who are spiritual and who are able to warn the nation of the dangers into which it has fallen. Judge, after judge, after judge, keep ruling against the will of the American people. It seems that no matter what good moral laws we pass, what constitutional amendments we write and vote into law, all it takes is one federal judge to declare it null and void. The high stakes of this spiritual warfare are enormous, for the future of the nation, and to a lesser degree, the future of the world is being decided. Psalm 43:2 “For You are the God of my strength; why do You cast me off? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?” Like the psalmist, we end up feeling rejected and left out by God Himself. How can we stand up against these demonic hordes that are running rampant against our nations? Let’s take another look into our opening text. Psalm 43:3 “Oh, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me; let them bring me to Your holy hill and to Your tabernacle.” Light, or enlightening truth from God is the only thing that is able to drive away any and all demonic hordes from our midst. However, this powerful force of deliverance needs a dwelling place, a tabernacle in this earth in order to be successful. In order to become a tabernacle for God’s delivering power, we have to enter into His holy hill and abide with Him in His tabernacle. We dealt with this in the previous lesson; according to Psalm 24, only those who have clean hands and a pure heart, who have not lifted up their souls to idols nor sworn deceitfully are able to receive this power. Psalm 24:3-4 “Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully.” Now, more than ever before, fellowship with this world system can have disastrous consequences on our ability to powerfully intercede against all the evil forces that war from within our nations governments against the Word of God. So that we see the interaction between the corporal and the individual. The ungodly nation and the deceitful and unjust man. David was just an individual, but he refused to compromise with the sin of idolatry. God rewarded his faithfulness by making him king of the nation of Israel, and David drove that nation into its highest glory. Saul, the first king of Israel became an idolater—for his disobedience was as the sin of witchcraft—and he severely and personally persecuted David aiming to destroy his life. How did David overcome the personal persecution that aimed to destroy him personally and the purpose that God had for David’s life? Psalm 26:4-5 “I have not sat with idolatrous mortals, nor will I go in with hypocrites, I have hated the assembly of evildoers, and will not sit with the wicked.” Notice how David begins Psalm twenty-six the same way that the other psalmist began Psalm forty-three, Vindicate me, O Lord. Psalm 26:1 “Vindicate me, O Lord, for I have walked in my integrity. I have also trusted in the Lord; I shall not slip.” Under king Saul, both the nation and the king persecuted David, for Saul pursued David with Israel’s army for the purpose of killing him. David prayed to the Lord, and I’m paraphrasing: Vindicate me, O Lord, for I have not walked in their idolatry; that is what he meant by I have walked in my integrity. He continued, I did not sit with them, and I will not sit with them, the idolaters and the evil doers. I will not be a part of their wickedness, no matter how much it costs me. David triumphed over the man by refusing to partake in his idolatry, and by faithfully waiting on God and not taking matters into his own hands. He pleased God—and God gave to him the nation of Israel as his reward. The greatest desire of David’s heart was to build a dwelling place for the glory of God to rest while here on the earth! It is safe to say that God had already found a dwelling place here on the earth in the heart of David. Psalm 43:4 “Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy; and on the harp I will praise You, O God, my God.” It does not matter whether it is David, the sons of Korah, or us; when we make our God our exceeding joy, renounce all idolatries, and cry out to God for vindication—God’s dwelling place takes residence within us. The anointing oil distilled from the fragrance of our songs of praise breaks off the oppression of the enemy and we are able to enter into the hill of the Lord with thanksgivings in our hearts. Isaiah 61:3 “To console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” There is no doubt that the nations of the world that once honored the Gospel of Jesus Christ, have turned their backs on the God of the Gospel; they have decided to follow the god’s of their own making and imaginations. They now live with open reproach and contempt against those of us who have kept the faith of our founding fathers. They have elected for themselves leaders that represent their contempt against us in the way they govern. They have deceived and continued to deceive those who should know better, into keeping them in power. They have no regard for truth. They do not care how much misery they inflict upon those whom they deceive. Their hatred towards God has no bounds since their father is the devil, who was a liar and a murderer from the very beginning. But we know them, we know the spirits that drive them, and we have no part with them. Let the dead bury their own dead. As for us, this is our heartfelt prayer: Oh Lord, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead us. Let Your light and Your truth bring us into Your holy hill and into Your tabernacle. Psalm 25:4-5 “Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all day.” More Teachings Found Here: Deliverance Ministry End Times Teachings Other Teachings

- INTERCESSION | HoFM
House of Faith Ministries (HoFM) asks what are the mysteries of intercession and why is it that it is so very much required? Top of Page INTERCESSION Hebrews 7:25 “Therefore He is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” Intercession is not only needed, but is very much required for the proper function of everyday life as we know it. If it were not, then Jesus would not have to live always making intercession for us. What are the mysteries of intercession and why is it that it is so very much required? In this lesson we are going to try to unravel some of the mysteries related to intercession, in the hope that we can get some insight into this ministry that is so vital to our everyday lives, in the hope that it would encourage us to intercede on a daily basis. Matthew 6:9-10 “In this manner, therefore, pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.’” To understand intercession is to understand why the will of God is not being done on the earth as it is in heaven; we need to know that the authority to rule over the earthly realm was given to Adam, to man and his descendants, Satan usurped that authority from man through deception and introduced chaos into the earthly realm. Since that time there has always been a battle between good and evil here on the earth. Jesus came and destroyed Satan’s power to inflict chaos upon the earth and returned earthly authority back into the hands of godly man. Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Intercession is asking God to do His good will here on the earth on behalf, and for the good of all mankind. Since the authority has been returned back to us, when we see chaos ruling, it is because someone is failing to ask God to intervene in that situation. We may ask, why doesn’t God remove the chaos and bring to us His peace? Since God gave authority to man to rule over the earthly realm, God will not interfere into the affairs of man uninvited. That is what intercession is pure and simple, recognizing that we fail due to our fallen nature, to bring the goodness of God by ourselves into the earthly realm. We need His help! Luke 18:1 “Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart.” In the parable that followed Jesus spoke about a widow that was not strong enough to take on her adversary by herself. The widow in the parable typifies mankind in our fallen human nature. The judge in the parable did not care about her need for justice, but due to her importunity, a type for consistency in prayer, the judge granted the widow her request. Then Jesus adds: Luke 18:7 “And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? Men are always to pray and not lose heart: This brings us to the first aspect of intercession. Intercession is a Battle: A spiritual battle that requires a battle plan. Once we understand that God will not intervene in human affairs unless we ask Him to, and we know that it is His will, not ours, that He wants to bring into the mix, then we need to know what His will is in regards to the situation that we are asking His intervention for, so that we can pray in accordance with His will for that situation. If we do not, then the chaos will continue, for He aims for His will to be done not ours. Battle on behalf of mankind: God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 Our daily intercession should follow, as in regards to our prayers on behalf of mankind, first the family and the family structure. 1 Timothy 5:8 “But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” These are pretty strong words that Paul speaks, that is because God is after the family structure; the family that prays together not only stays together but has a powerful influence in all that surrounds them. Is called the power of agreement as in a married couple interceding together on behalf of their entire families that became connected to one another through them entering into holy matrimony. That is why the institution of marriage is under such a heavy attack right now from those who want to redefine it. Their demonic aim is to corrupt the power of this marital institution to intercede together on behalf of both families by introducing dividing controversies into the family unit, thereby their power of intercession is neutralized. So that intercession should be made first on behalf of the household and beginning with the head of the household. Daily intercession should be made on behalf of parents, grand parents, children, grandchildren , great grandchildren , our siblings, their siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and for the families that they are interconnected with as well. God will use your prayer for some distant family member that you do not even know to save them from hell; remember that God is not willing that any of them should perish and be lost forever, but He will not act on their behalf by imposing His own will upon them unless someone prays for their salvation, which is God’s will for them. Many years ago, one of my nephews found himself, after going forward on an altar call, in front of an evangelist that told him that the reason he had answered the call was because his uncle was praying for him. This blew his mind for he knew that I was the only saved uncle that he had, he called us to ask, and we told him, yes we pray daily for our nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles and cousins. This was a confirmation to us way back then, that God always hears our prayers. 1 Timothy 2:1-4 “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” Secondly, we need to pray for the men and women that are part of the governmental structures that rule society, both secular and religious institutions. So that we need to pray on a daily basis for the churches and the elders of the churches, for the schools, the principles, the teachers, those who prepare the curriculum that the teachers teach, we are not to leave any of that to the will of the enemy. The fruit of the womb is His reward, let our children be invested with the knowledge of the truth, after all they belong to the God of Truth. Let us pray for the lawmakers and those who are in charge of executing the laws that the legislators pass. Let us pray for the judges that rule on what laws are just and which are not. Our prayer on their behalf should be based on what is God’s best for those over whom they rule. If the rules that they pass and enforce go against what is God’s best for the people they have rule over, then our intercession for them will be for God’s conviction of what is right and wrong to be revealed to them. If God opens their eyes to see the evil that their ruling is bringing upon the people, then hopefully they will repent and do the right thing on behalf of those over whom they have the power to rule. 3 John 2 “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” Thirdly we need so seek our own personal time of intimacy with Jesus. True intercession is born out of a heart that has an intimate relationship with the heart of Jesus. When His heart becomes one with our heart, our intercession for those things which touch His heart will be the more powerful; when our desire becomes one with His desire, there is a powerful and unstoppable force that is released as we become one with Him in His will for us. Ephesians 4:3 “Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” Fourthly there is a place in the heavenly realm where those whose hearts have touched Jesus’ heart meet. This is a real place, more real than any reality that we’ve ever experienced here on earth. You will find people there whose prayer originates from many distant lands, somehow they form a spiritual connection and come together in the bond of peace, while in their efforts to ascend into the hill of the Lord and touch the heart of God. They begin their journey with a simple desire for interceding on behalf of what is in the heart of Jesus at that time. Somehow they all interconnect, they arrived into what is called the unity of the Spirit, when suddenly the Holy Spirit takes them to the base of what is called the hill of the Lord. Once there, they are able to commune one with another in complete trust, being aware of the other intercessors humanity and purpose. You can hear their thoughts and communicate your feelings to them through the same process. To reach the top of the hill of the Lord is the goal, so they press tightly together with one another in order to attain the purpose for which their Lord brought them there. Not all make it to the top at first, for it is a process. And it is that process the reason why I am sharing this aspect of intercession with you right now. Psalm 24:3-4 “Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully.” This Psalm is a Messianic Psalm, meaning that it applies to Jesus, since Jesus is the only perfect human who could fulfilled the requirements stated in the Psalm. But when the intercessors heart becomes one with Jesus’ heart, a pure heart, that is when the intercessor is brought into the base of the hill of the Lord and ascend into the desires of God’s heart. In order for this pureness of heart to take effect, there has to be a cleanness of hands. Idolatries are the issue here, idolatry is the worship of a substitute god, usually the worship of self, or selfish ambitions, all of which defiles the human heart. We can pray the will of God and be in an idolatrous condition, but we can never pray the heart of God in such an idolatrous state, for idolatry is what keeps us from knowing His heart. Hence the ultimate goal of an intercessor should be to rid themselves of all traces of idolatry within their hearts in order to attained the heart of God. You have to begin with the truth, by being true to yourself, truth is the only thing that can make you free. The word sworn, as in sworn deceitfully, literally means to seven oneself, so that it has to do with a custom or ritual, some practice that takes place on regular intervals, a custom that is based on the perversion of the truth, that in reality is idolatry. Such traditional practices will be the hardest of all things to get rid of in your Christian life, because such practices are deeply embedded into modern day Christian liturgy. Truth leads us into the will of God, which in turn leads us into the truth of the purpose of God, which in turn takes us into the very heart of God. John 12:32 “And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.” If the goal of intercession is to bring to the earth what is God’s will in heaven, so that God’s purpose for the inhabitants of the earth can be accomplished, and if the best way to accomplish that ministry is to have the very heart of God within our hearts, is it not then necessary that Jesus be lifted up from the earth? You see, if we are proclaiming Jesus’ heart to the world, how can we do so effectively if we ourselves are soiled with the very earthly customs that profane His holy name, since we still have regard for those customs and patronized them? The devil is no match for the name of Jesus, all a believer has to do is to proclaim that precious name of Jesus, and no matter what his circumstances are, Jesus will answer him. But if we are swearing deceitfully by profaning the name that is above every name, by equating His holy name with some ancient pagan festival festering with idolatry, then the devil will not fear those who profane Jesus’ holy name, for by doing so they have placed themselves into the bottom of the heap of rubbish that hell itself is built on. John 12:26 “If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.” Who may ascend the hill of the Lord? The true servants that follow Jesus, for those who follow Jesus are with Jesus where He is, and Jesus is on the top of the hill of the Lord. What a privilege it is to make intercession on behalf of the saints in the very presence of His Majesty on High. More teachings found here: Deliverance Ministry End Times Teachings Other Teachings

- THE VERACITY OF GOD'S WORD | HoFM
House of Faith Ministries (HoFM) presents a teaching on Matthew 4:3-4 “Now when the tempter came to Him, he said: ‘If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.’ Top of Page THE VERACITY OF GOD’S WORD Matthew 4:3-4 “Now when the tempter came to Him, he said: ‘If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.’ But He answered and said, ‘It is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”’” During the time of the temptation of Jesus after He had fasted for forty days and forty nights, the enemy came to test the trustworthiness of God’s immutable Word. I want to share with you the insight of what was taking place during this encounter between The Word and the accuser. This is an extremely important lesson. Our understanding of what was taking place behind the scenes if you will, will greatly help us to overcome the accuser when he comes knocking on our door to challenge what we believe. I have seen the faith of some young believers wrecked by their failure to understand the gimmicks that Satan employs when challenging the veracity of the Word of God. My hope is that by exposing some of the enemy’s tactics, that it might prepare you to take a firm stand against the devil’s perversion of the Word of God when you are confronted by them. Luke 20: 17-18 “Then He looked at them and said, ‘What then is this that it is written: “The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone”’? Whoever falls on that stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.” When the devil challenged Jesus to turn the stones into bread, at first appearance, in the natural scheme of things, it appears as if the enemy is tempting the flesh that was hungry after a long fast, but spiritually speaking there was a lot more going on here than we see at first glance. As we can see from our Scripture in Luke, the stone is representative of the Word of God and it’s power to break those who fall on it, and grind into powder those upon whom it falls. So that in essence the spirit behind Satan’s challenge was “to turn the stone” (The immutable Word of God) into something soft and common like bread that you eat today and is gone tomorrow, it wreaks of compromise. In other words, the enemy was saying, if you are the Son of God you can do whatever you want to with the Word (implying that He could change it). Hence the answer that Jesus responded with, “it is written”. Which brings me to the first application of this lesson in regards to the challenges that we face today when it comes to our faith and trust in the Word of God. How do we know that the Bible is the true Word of God? It is written! I hear people tell me that the Bible was written by men, and that other men decided which of the many books that were written were made part of the Bible, as if God was somehow limited by the powers of men. 2 Peter 1:20-21 “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation (It was never left to men as to what to write or what to include and reject), for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke (men spoke from God) as they were moved (into action) by the Holy Spirit.” Satan wants us to believe that men, fallen creatures as we are, are incapable of producing truth, and that is true if men are left to their own devices. But the Bible does not credit men with producing truth, all the credit goes to the Holy Spirit of God. And just as God chose the womb of one of the many virgins of Israel to give birth to the Word in Carne, God chose and moved in the spiritual womb of men and women of God to bring forth the Written Word as well. 1 Peter 2:4-5 “Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” The one thing that unbelievers can never comprehend is how the Word becomes alive (a living stone) inside the ones who believe in Jesus as their savior, since they haven’t experienced the transformation that a born-again believer experiences when he/she becomes a living stone. We become like living stones when we partake in simple faith the truth of the Gospel. What is hard for me to understand is how believers that have tasted of the sweetness of the Living Rock that gushes forth to satisfy their taste for righteousness, can overtime allow the bitter waters of the enemy’s poison to weaken their trust in the truth that they have tasted in their born again experience. Galatians 1:6-7 “I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the Gospel of Christ.” Which brings as to the second temptation that Jesus had to endure on our behalf. Matthew 4:5-6 “Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, ‘If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: “He shall give His angels charge over You,” and, “In their hands they shall bear You up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.”’” In the natural the temptation is for Jesus to be presumptuous, but if you look a little deeper the truth of this temptation is the perversion of God’s Word. Once a believer has experienced the truth of God’s Word, the enemy’s aim is to pervert its application by treating the Word as mechanical in nature instead of a living relational part of our everyday lives. Yes, there may be a time when God tells you to trust Him to the point of doing something so foolish that it defies human logic. But to the person that is in a personal relationship with the Living Word there will be no doubt in their hearts. Jesus simply responded to this temptation by saying: “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt (test) the Lord your God.’” Matthew 4:7 One does not have to test true relational friendship, because by definition, it has already been tested when the weaker one chose to put all their trust in the power of the stronger one. So that when a believer puts his/her trust solely in the Word for their eternal salvation, how much more can they trust the Word for the less important matters of everyday life. Galatians 3:1 “O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified?” So that once we know the greater truth that Jesus was crucified for our sins, the goal of the enemy is to separate us from daily trusting in Him as we continuously work out our relationship with that same truth. Basically, what I am saying is that if we are willing to trust His Word for our eternal salvation, then how much more can we trust in His Word for our everyday life. Matthew 4:8-9 “Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, ‘All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.’” When Adam was first created, he was given dominion over all the kingdoms of the world that were to come in all their glory. When Adam failed to trust the Word of God that said that he was good even though he was naked, Adam forfeited his dominion to the devil who caused him to know that he was naked. In other words, he believed the lies of the devil over the truth of God’s Word and that kept him from partaking of the tree of life. When the devil tempted Jesus who is God the Word the third time, his aim was to have Jesus the Word declare him, the devil, good, in exchange for Jesus not having to bear the sins of Adam and of his descendants through the cruel death of the cross in order to regain the dominion that Adam had lost when he failed to trust in the Word of God. So basically, what the devil said to Jesus was, I’ll give you the dominion that Adam lost to me in exchange for you declaring me good even though I am perverted, you have power to declare me clean so that You do not have to die on the cross. Matthew 4:10 “Then Jesus said to him, ‘Away with you, Satan! For it is written, “You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.”’” So that in the temptations that Jesus suffered we can clearly see the progression of the devil’s machinations, and they all involve different levels of perversion to the Word of Truth. First the devil wants the Stone Truths or the foundational principles of the Word of God to be turn into the soft bread of compromise, so that the Word that the believers profess won’t crush his head. Secondly he wants us to have religion instead of relationship with the Word of God. In religion or ritualistic confines the devil is able to turn the Word that frees us into cold frigid rules that suffocate the very life that the Word was meant to give us. Thirdly, the devil offers an easy way out to the uncompromising believer that will not deviate from God’s foundational principles and walks in the freedom of the spirit filled life, by trying to make the road that the believer has to walk harder than it is, so that he can tempt him to receive perverted power that does not come from God. Unfortunately some who originally ministered in the Word of Truth have given up the difficulties of the narrow road of hardships for the temporary glory of the third temptation, the glorification of self. Jesus did not mess around when faced with that third temptation, immediately He uttered the words: “Away with you, Satan!” All humans are influenced by spirits that want to sway us into doing good or bad. There is always something or someone in the spiritual realm that wants us to do their bidding. The only protection that we have against those bad and unprofitable influences is the Truth of the Word of God. The Word of God is the filter that protects our spirit and soul from contamination. The greater our knowledge of the Word of Truth the finer the mesh becomes in the filter. Do not let the spirit of the world that continuously belittles the Word of God rob you of the many benefits that Jesus has provided for us in his many great and precious promises. 2 Peter 1:3-4 “As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him (the Word made flesh) who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises (in God’s Word), that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption (perversion) that is in the world through lust.” More teachings found here: Deliverance Ministry End Times Teachings Other Teachings
- HOW TO DISCERN A SPIRITUAL TRAP | HoFM
House of Faith Ministries (HoFM) explains that we need to consider what type of spirit is it that rules in our hearts as we engage in our pursuit of preaching the Gospel that Jesus preached to the masses. Top of Page HOW TO DISCERN A SPIRITUAL TRAP Luke 9:55-56 “But He turned and rebuked them, and said, ‘You do not know what manner of spirit you are of. For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.’ And they went to another village.” The context for the above verses have to do with the fact that Jesus knew that this was His last ministry trip as He was going up to Jerusalem to be crucified. Jesus sent messengers ahead of His ministry team to prepare the people of the villages that He was passing through on His way to Jerusalem, for He wanted to do as much ministry work as possible on behalf of those who needed His ministry before His crucifixion. A Samaritan village upon hearing from the messengers, that Jesus wanted to minister to them before going up to Jerusalem, did not receive them because of the fact that He was going to Jerusalem, and the Samaritans of that village did not want anything to do with the Jews of Jerusalem. The Jews of that day did not consider the Samaritans to be Jewish enough to worship in Jerusalem, so the Samaritans had to worship God in Samaria instead, and there was a rivalry between them as to where the proper place to worship God was. James and John upon hearing from the messengers that the village that they were about to enter did not welcome them, said this: Luke 9:54 “...Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?” Jesus rebuked them for not having the same spirit in their hearts for ministry that He had; and this is the part that I want our focus to be for this lesson. We need to consider what type of spirit is it that rules in our hearts as we engage in our pursuit of preaching the Gospel that Jesus preached to the masses. There are so many really bad things going on right now, everywhere, that if at some point you don’t feel like James and John felt at that time and wished that you could call fire down from heaven, then you better check your pulse. I know, we know better than that, thank God for hindsight; but not everybody is aware of this spirit of rage that can just rise up at any minute, even within holy apostles, and we need to learn how to discern and how to stay away from their hidden traps. Jesus rebuked against James and John had to do more with their failure to recognize this spirit for what it was, a spirit of antichrist, than for the foolishness of what they wanted to do. Luke 4:18-19 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel (good news, not bad news) to the poor; He has sent Me to heal (not to kill) the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” Nowhere in our Lord’s mission statement do we see the words, to bring fire down from heaven. Now isn’t He God? Yes He is! Does He have the power to bring down fire from heaven upon anyone He chooses? Yes He does! But if you are called by God to the ministry, then you better find out quick which type of ministry you are called to fulfill on God’s behalf before you start vaporizing people. It is true that Elijah had called fire down from heaven after prophesying that the injured king of Israel that ruled from Samaria was going to die. 2 Kings 1:2-4 “Now Ahaziah fell through the lattice of his upper room in Samaria, and was injured; so he sent messengers and said to them, ‘Go, inquire of Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron, whether I shall recover from this injury.’ But the angel of the Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite, ‘Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say to them, “Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going to inquire of Baal-Zebub, the god of Akron?” Now therefore, thus says the Lord: “You shall not come down from the bed to which you have gone up, but you shall surely die.”’ So Elijah departed.” When we read our opening Scripture within the greater historical context we can see the trap that the spirit of antichrist was trying to set up against Jesus’ ministry team. It was from Samaria the capitol of Israel at that time, that the king of Israel highly insulted the Lord by trying to bypass God’s duly instituted Elijah’s prophetic ministry, and instead sent seeking for the counsel of Satan himself, the representative of everything that is in opposition to God and His goodness, just like antichrist is the total opposite of who Christ is and His goodness. So that we have messengers, Samaritans, the spirit of antichrist and Satan, all involved in an intricate spiritual plot to try and derail the ministry of Jesus who has been anointed to preach the Gospel of good news to the poor by the Spirit of the Living God. What is troubling about this story is that the two disciples fell for it. Now when the king of Israel saw that his messengers return so quickly, he asked them why had they disobeyed his orders and returned without accomplishing what he had commanded them, to seek the counsel of Satan on behalf of the nation of Israel. He was told that a man had ordered them to return to the king. So the king asked them who was the man that had spoken to them with such authority. 2 Kings 1:8 “So they answered him, ‘A hairy man wearing a leather belt around his waist.’ And he (the king) said, ‘It is Elijah the Tishbite.’” So that the king knew that Elijah was a prophet of God, called to speak on God’s behalf as it concerned the nation of Israel and its kings. Angry at Elijah for prophesying that he would not recover from his injuries, he sent a garrison of fifty soldiers to fetch Elijah. 2 Kings 1:10 “So Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, ‘If I am a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men.’ And fire came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty.” Now keep in mind that all of this is taking place during the time when Elijah was being prepared to be taken up to heaven, just like Jesus was. 2 Kings 2:1 “And it came to pass, when the Lord was about to take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind…” Luke 9:51 “Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him (Jesus) to be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem.” And now we see that when the time had come for Jesus to be received up, as He is headed for Jerusalem trying to minister to as many people as He can before He goes back to heaven, how the devil tried to derail the ministry of Jesus in the same manner that he tried to derail the ministry of Elijah before He was taken up. The way to derail a ministry is by causing it to deviate from its original calling. Jesus ministry was that of: For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them. So the devil by his craftiness tried to use a historical instance recorded in Scripture, along with fanning the flames of anti-Samaritan feelings that were so prevalent among the Jewish people of that day, to change the course of Jesus’ ministry from that of saving peoples lives into destroying them. And if he is able to do that right before Jesus the leader of the ministry is taken away, so that while He is gone the deviation cannot be corrected, then the whole purpose of the ministry is forever altered, from that of being a ministry that aims to save people, to one that ends up destroying them. Although I am using the word ministry as an example, my aim here is more into the personal side of things. Let me explain: Luke 9:62 “...No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God.” Satan is not so stupid as to think that he can derail that which the Lord has established, but if he can disarm as many of the Lord’s servants as he can, then the kingdom of God is hindered. A Christian is disarmed when he/she looks at the circumstances, that is what looking back means, instead of focusing on the foundational principles of our calling. We need to stay away from the frustrations that our present day evil brings; there is so much perversion going on, there is a total disregard for the truth, there is so much hate emanating from people that do not even have a clue as to what Christianity is. We need to understand that people have been blinded by the lies of this present age, and that Jesus came to bring recovery of sight to the blind. The fire that we call from heaven upon them is not for their destruction but for their enlightenment. If we fall into the trap of hating back those who hate us, then we are not in the same manner of spirit that Jesus is and become disqualified, not fit for the Kingdom of God. I know, it is so hard to pray for a world that murders innocent children by the millions and then calls it a choice, but let us keep in mind that God does not rejoice in their destruction, for He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. So let us not fall into the temptations of hate and vengeance for in due time God will deal with all the treachery, and when He does it will not be pretty. Luke 10:10-11 “But whatever city you enter, and they do not receive you, go out into the streets and say, ‘The very dust of your city which clings to us we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that the Kingdom of God has come near you.’” If it helps, know that the ministry of the Kingdom of God is two fold, the main and present purpose is to convert those who live in darkness into the liberty of God’s enlightenment, our part in this present ministry is simple, staying true to the fact that Jesus came not to destroy lives but to save them. John 3:17 “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” As long as we keep the same reference of mind with the mind of Jesus, that is how we know that we are of the same manner of Spirit with Him, no matter how much the evil perpetrated by the world keeps pushing us into repaying evil with evil, we will not budge. Now the second part of the two fold ministry of the Kingdom of God is reserved for the day of the great judgment. I guess that we could say that God is not judging the world as much for the evil that it did, but rather for the fact that it refused the opportunity to receive the freedom that it was offered by the demonstration of God’s great love. Luke 10:12-13 “But I say to you that it will be more tolerable in that Day for Sodom than for that city (the city that refused to receive the Kingdom of God). Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.” But how can the judgment of God be rendered to them if the Kingdom of God has not been clearly demonstrated to them. In a sense we could say that the devil, by drawing us into the trap of repaying evil with evil, is trying to lessen the very judgment that will befall all those who have rejected the Gospel of Jesus the Anointed One. After Elijah had called down fire from heaven to fall consequently upon the two captains and their fifty men squads that were sent to arrest him, the third captain fell down before Elijah and pleaded for mercy. If he disobeyed the king he would have been killed instantly, and going to arrest Elijah meant certain death as well for him and his fifty men. But he trusted in the God of mercy to deliver him out of an unwinnable situation, and God answered him with mercy. 2 Kings 1:13-15 “Again, he sent a third captain of fifty with his fifty men. And the third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and pleaded with him, and said to him: ‘Man of God, please let my life and the life of these fifty servants of yours be precious in your sight. Look, fire has come down from heaven and burned up the first two captains of fifties with their fifties. But let my life now be precious in your sight.’ And the angel of the Lord said to Elijah, ‘Go down with him…’” So that the fire was never really in Elijah’s hand, it was always in the hands of the angel of the Lord. Notice that the wise captain’s plead was two fold, he said, we were sent here to arrest you but we are now your servants, and since we are now God’s servants, ready to do His will, our lives are now precious to the Lord, and he made that fact the second part of his plead. By doing it that way the spiritual trap that was set before Elijah was disarmed and God was able to show them mercy; and at the same time God’s conviction of their horrible sin of seeking Satan’s advice over God’s counsel was never weakened nor compromised. Justice and love prevailed! More teachings found here: Deliverance Ministry End Times Teachings Other Teachings
