ESTHER FREEDOM BEYOND THE LAW

Minister Lisa Kane

20 Junie 2024

In this continuation of the Women of the Bible series, Lisa Kane teaches her second message on Esther, titled Freedom Beyond the Law. Beginning with Esther 3:13, the lesson examines Haman’s decree to destroy the Jews and Esther’s courageous intercession before the king. Though the king could not revoke the decree, he authorized a counter-proclamation empowering the Jews to defend themselves. This parallel illustrates how God’s law, while holy, cannot be undone; instead, Christ fulfilled the law and established a new covenant that sets believers free.

Lisa then moves to the Ten Commandments in Exodus 20, explaining how the law identifies sin and reveals human inability to remain righteous in their own strength. She highlights the generational consequences of sin, the danger of idolatry, and the tendency to place routines, possessions, or desires above God. The message emphasizes that the law brings bondage, but Christ’s sacrifice—His blood upon the mercy seat—redeems believers and breaks curses, granting freedom from condemnation.

Drawing on Colossians 2, 1 Corinthians 6 and 15, and Galatians 3, Lisa underscores that believers are new creations, no longer bound by ordinances or human doctrines. Instead, they are called to walk in the Spirit, stand on God’s promises, and exercise faith for healing, provision, and victory. Through testimonies and scriptural application, she shows how living in Christ’s freedom transforms mindsets, renews strength, and empowers a life of joy and spiritual authority.

The message concludes with an exhortation to embrace liberty in Christ, seek first God’s kingdom, and reject the weight of man’s traditions and the law’s condemnation. By choosing to walk in the Spirit, believers can live in the fullness of God’s promises and testify of His power.

Objective:

The objective of this message is to reveal the biblical principle of freedom in Christ by comparing the unchangeable proclamations in Esther’s time with God’s eternal law, and to show that while the law exposes sin, true liberty and victory are found in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.

Inspired Teaching - Written and/or Transcribed from Video Above:

Hello and welcome to the House of Faith Ministries. I'm Lisa Kaine. I'm recording this message on Thursday, June 20th, 2024. Welcome. Let us open up in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word. We thank you for the freedom that your word has given us and what you have done on the cross to save us. Thank you, Father God. I pray that the audience listening to this message hears your Holy Spirit. Move me aside. Let the Holy Spirit speak to their ears and their heart and let them listen and act upon your word and apply that word to their lives. In the glorious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen. Amen. All right. I'm still in the Women of the Bible series. We're going to be here for a long time. So, this is going to be my second teaching on Esther. So, this one's going to be called Freedom Beyond the Law. Let's go to our opening scripture. This is in Esther 3:13. And the letters were sent by post into all the king's provinces to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the 13th day of the 12th month, which is the month of Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey. So, when I taught on Esther last week, I went in and I showed you where she was in the timeline of events. And at the end of the teaching, because I didn't get into the proclamations that Hmon, a demon-possessed Agatite who hated the Jews and was an the was an enemy of the Jews. Um, I didn't get into the proclamations and I I hinted at the end of it the freedom that we have from this. So, I thought let's go into that a little bit more this week. And um, it was so fascinating because when I got up Sunday morning, this is a Thursday and I got up Sunday morning and it was Saturday night as I was thinking and dwelling on this message, I had the confirmation there and it was such a beautiful time. So, praising the Lord. So what you just read, this is the proclamation that Hmon was able to trick the king with. The king gave him his signate ring and said, "Go write whatever proclamation you want against his people. He lied to these people." So I taught on that last week. You can go check that out. Uh it's not a precursor for this. You will understand this message without it. But if you want more information, it is there. So when he writes his proclamation, this is what he's telling. He says, "Everybody who isn't a Jew in all the provinces of the king, you are allowed to destroy to kill." Who destroys and kills? Satan. He is the thief, the killer, the destroyer, the liar. And Hmon took that role here and played the devils and and played being the devil. And he had this proclamation written in the king's signant. and and it looks and to cause to perish all Jews both young and old little children and women on one day even upon the 13th day of the 12th month which is the month Adar and to take the spoil of them for a prey. Now what happened is Esther being a Jew they didn't know she was a Jew she's the one who had to go to the king and beg for her people to live. Hmon was exposed for who he was. He was hung on gallows that was supposed to hang Morai, Esther's uncle. Go read the book of Esther. It is a fascinating quick read and it will give you an idea of what's going on here. So now that Hmon is dead, this proclamation exists. Esther asks the king to reverse it. But the king cannot, whatever is created as a proclamation cannot be reversed. That's fascinating. So now what happened is the king said to Mori and his counsel, "Go write a new proclamation." This is good. I hope you guys get this message. This is this is a good one. Okay. So here it is in Esther 8 11 and 12. Wherein the king granted the Jews which were in every city too. So this is the proclamation the Jews wrote to gather themselves together and to stand for their life to destroy to slay and to cause to perish all the power of the people and province that would assault them both little ones and women and to take the spoil of them for a prey upon one day in all the provinces of King Ahasheras namely upon the 13th day of the 12th month which is the month of Adar. So now on this 13th day of this 12th month, there are two live king proclamations acting and they are against one another, if you will. So you have this um proclamation that says if you're non-Jewish, you can go kill every Jew, old, young, male, female, doesn't matter. You kill anyone and you take their spoils on this day. Well, then the Jews wrote an anti- proclamation in the sense of if you're a Jew, you can defend yourself. And when you defend yourself, what you're going to do is you can kill anyone who assaults you and you take their spoil. So now the outcome is, and I I didn't bring the scriptures in here due to time, but the outcome is that this day came and pass. And when it came in pass, um, not one Jew was killed. However, 75,000 non-Jewish people were killed in the outer provinces and it was either 300 or 500 um, uh, non-Jewish that were killed in the Shushon Palace, which is where the king reside and where Queen Esther and Morai lived. So what does that mean? So, how can the king write a province and it not be reversed? What where does this come from? Let's go take a look at the ten commandments because they're commandments and they're the law. Are they still profitable today? What does the law do for us? So, this teaching is called freedom beyond the law. And I want to show you. So I have to show you the law here and then we can take the principle that Esther and King Aasheras did and apply it to what Jesus is doing. This is why the book of Esther is in the Bible. A lot of theologians don't even know this or understand it. So let's get into this and watch how this works. So we're going to the Ten Commandments. We're going to start here in Exodus 20. We're going to go through verses 3 through 17. Verse three, thou shalt have no other gods before me. Okay. So, if you think you don't have a God before you, Christian or non-Christian, whoever you are watching this, let me just simply ask you this. When the TV isn't on, um, you're not doing it. You're just sitting there. What do you do? You pick up your cell phone and you go to Instagram, Tik Tok, YouTube, and you watch what entertains you. That's a form of a God because at that moment, you didn't put God first. At that moment, you are dwelling in your own world. Now, that's not to say you have to have God in your life 24/7 as an active thing. You do have your rest period. This is why God has uh created the Sabbath day, which we're going to show that here in just a minute. But had you read your Bible that day, had you prayed that day, had you put God first when you woke up, did you put God first when you went to bed? You see, a lot of people don't do that. Or how about even just pressing in? Lord, I want to find out more about this. I'm going to go take an active approach and study it. Nine out of ten times we don't do that. Why? Because our lives are in a routine. And when you follow that routine, that becomes a godlike thing. Either way, whether you're doing that or you're not, this is just one commandment out of 10. So, it could be that you have a god before you. I had a dream years ago going down the sidetrack rabbit trail here. Um there were all these uh images carved out of a mountain and I mean they were huge and there were several of them. I I don't know the number of them but one fell. It was coming to a car and I remember we were be in this bus and I was looking out the back window. I go you need to drive faster. It's coming. It was the impact of it hitting the ground, the ground shaking and rock flying everywhere. And I had this dream and we had passed this bridge, got on the other side and we were fine. But I do believe that meant deliverance of whatever image I was dealing with at the time. This was many, many, many years ago. But even so, that's something I have to be forgiven of, right? Because I had a god before me. Now look at verse four. For thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. How many times do we have a picture of Jesus either on the cross hanging around our neck or up on the wall? H thou shalt not bow down thyself to them. And by the way, this particular commandment is very important. It's talking about not making any graving images and bowing down to them. Remember in Esther when Hmon was promoted as second in command, one of the things that he liked was everyone bowing down to him and he took it as a law, a commandment. And Morortei said, I'm not bowing down to you. And Mori didn't. So this is why Mori didn't. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them. These are those graven images. Nor serve them. For I, the Lord thy God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me, and showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments. So, in other words, when you sin, you especially when you're putting another God as a more important factor in your life or your job or whatever it may be. It's more important than God himself. He's going to visit the iniquities that you have to your children, your grandchildren, and your great-grandchildren. And which means you are in a position where your great grandparents sinned, your grandparents send, your parents sin is on you. So there is a generational factor behind you older than you and to your future that hasn't happened. This is where sicknesses and diseases come in from because nobody gets nobody is or many are not going forward to be forgiven of these generational curses. You need to be forgiven of that. Go to the houseof faith ministries.org. Go to the empowering prayers section. It's in the menu bar there. And you will find there's a prayer. You scroll down regarding generational curses. Say that prayer. will break you of these curses. But this is one of the commandments that we have. And it's because we put something above God in our lives. That's an iniquity. And I'm going to tell you right now, everybody does it. What? So, what is this telling me? What's this law telling me? It's telling me I'm a sinner and I cannot prevent myself from doing that. I'll try. It's like dieting. You try, you try, you fail. You have to do it with Jesus. Oh, we're going to get into that here in just a moment. Verse seven, thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. How many, you know, in our youth, I'm sure we've done that. Or gee, damn it. You know, these are the things that we've spoken and we need to be forgiven of them. And what is the law showing us? We are sinners. We have sinned. Verse eight, remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. How many of us work ourselves unto the ground? God rested. He set a pre principle, a precedent for us to rest on the seventh day. So, we're to work six days and rest the seventh day. And we don't do that. Or a lot of people don't do that. They become workaholics. And you're killing yourself slowly but surely. And then uh verse 9 goes into that sixth day shalt thou labor and do all thy work. Verse 10, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God. In it thou shalt not do any work, thou or thy son, nor thy daughter, thy man's servant, nor thy maid servant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it. So, we are to rest, you know, and to give you an example, we work several months in a row. We have our weekends, but we have to work on our weekends to do all of the chores around the house. But then we go on a vacation, take a two week vacation. That's not honoring the Sabbath day. That is not resting. Now, going to church, is that a Sabbath day? You go to church, you you receive more of the Holy Spirit, hear the word of God. The Sabbath day is above and beyond that. I hope you get that. As for another teaching on verse 12, honor thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord God giveth thee. There's a big one. A lot of people hate their parents and don't want to be like their parents and don't want to have anything to do with their parents or are determined not to be like their parents. And that's okay. You can be you you don't have to be like your parents, but you need to honor them. And even if you know that they're wrong, you honor them. And what happens is they will see what's going on. But it gives you it you have the freedom to a long life. Otherwise, you cut your life short if you're you're not honoring your parents. Uh verse 13, thou shalt not kill. Verse 14, thou shalt not commit adultery. Verse 15, thou shalt not steal. These are part of all of the ten commandments. Thou shalt, Verse 16, thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. Thou shalt not coveret thy neighbor's house. Thou shalt not cover thy neighbor's wife wife, nor his man's servant, nor his maid servant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbors. Those are the ten commandments. That's what we're told. And what is the first thing we do? We break them. We may not break all of them, but we do break a good portion of them because we're conceived and born in sin. So, every time you go back to the law, you put yourself in bondage because the law tells you you are a sinner.

The only one who can redeem you of sin is Christ the Messiah. Let's go to Colossians 2:es 20- 22. Wherefore, if ye be dead with Christ, now the moment you become a believer, you become a new creation, which means you die to yourself. You die to all those generational curses. You die to the law. You You're dead from the law. You are separated from it. I hope you get this message. Look at this. Wherefore, if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, the law talks to the world. The law talks to the sinner. The law tells you you're a sinner. That is to the world. So from the rudiments of the world, why as though living in the world are ye subject to ordinances. Look at this. touch not, taste not, hand, handle not, which all are to perish with the using after the commandments and doctrines of many. How many times do we follow somebody who says, well, if you drink a little w or water with your lemon juice in the morning, your liver's going to love it. Or, you know, why go to the commandments of men?

because they're not teaching you the freedom that Christ gave you from the law. You are not part of that anymore. You do not need to touch that. Oh, I hope you get this. Think of it like this. The law tells you you're a sinner. Thou shalt not kill. But in your mind, if you hate somebody, you're killing that person. You're committing murder. whether you know it or not. And by the way, you're not given a reprieve due to ignorance that you are held responsible for that. So now we're talking about the thoughts and the inward man who cannot keep the law. Only Jesus was the one that can do it. And it was his blood that had to fall on the mercy seat which is on the ark of the covenant which is where the ten commandments were housed. His blood was placed on that mercy seat and he redeemed us. He saved us. He acqui we were acquitted. He gave us the pardon that we needed. And now if you stay away from all those things, you get to walk spiritually. Your eternity has already begun spiritually. You are free to do whatever you want. It may not benefit the people around you, but you're free to do it. If you want to smoke a cigarette and you're a Christian, go for it. Now, if you're doing it in front of others, oh, that's a shameful thing. You have the freedom to do it. They just haven't learned yet that they have that same freedom. And by the way, that cigarette won't have any consequence to you. If you were a smoker 20 years ago and you became a Christian five years ago and you've had that cigarette smoke growing in your lungs, let me tell you the freedom you have. Your lungs are pink and brand new because you are a new creature in Christ because by his stripes you were healed. I had a tumble the other day. I face planted or it was more of a bo a belly flop on the concrete if you will. It's a it was a hard fall. Got my knee injured and my hands a little scraped up. I got up and when I got up I stood up and said, "No weapon formed against me shall prosper." Then I went on to say, "By his stripes, I was healed." Do you know I didn't have to take a single thing? I was a little tender, a little sore, but other than that, and when I first looked at my knee, especially, it was really red. The redness was gone. By the time I got to a bathroom, I fell at the school uh church parking lot. By the time I got to a restroom to clean it up and everything, it was gone. That's the power we walk in now in the spiritual realm. I hope you guys are getting this. Look at um 1 Corinthians 6:11-12. And such were some of you, but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the spirit of our God. All things are lawful unto me. Smoking a cigarette's lawful, but all things are not expedient. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. Now, what happens when you smoke a cigarette?

your body depends on it or alcohol it becomes dependent. So it is not beneficial in the long term of things. And let me also tell you this when you do have a serious transformation with Christ yes your insides change. You become a new creation but it changes the way you think. You have no more desires for any of that because it's built within. It's spiritual. Now, look at what he says here in 1 Corinthians 15:56. The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. See, I'm free from the law. I'm I don't have to live by that law anymore. I get to say scripture, quote it over my body, and walk in freedom. I don't have to worry about any ten commandments or anything because the love of God is now within me and I'm walking with the spirit of God quoting scripture and my life is transformed as a result. 1 Corinthians 7:23-24. You're bought with a price. You see, every time you go back to the law, you negate the price Jesus prayed for you. He's on the cross. He died for you. Rose from the grave. Don't put him back on the cross. Nail the sin to the cross. Amen. Ye are bought with a price, but ye but not ye the servants of men. Brethren, let every man wherein he is called therein abide with God. You see, the reason I get to walk in the benefits of the Lord is because Matthew 6:33 says, "Seek first the kingdom of God." I go and I minister to people. I teach here, ministering to you, the listener. I go and I lay hands on people and pray because I'm expecting the Holy Spirit to move in and meet their need. I also seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. I choose to walk in godliness. I choose to walk in freedom, not the law. I just choose to be good and do things that are good because that is the calling that Christ has on my life. Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and then all these things will be added unto me. That is scriptural. And because I walk in scripture, I'm blessed. And people get jealous and envious of it. Well, you can have this, too. You're free from the law. The moment you confess Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you're free from the law. And every time you face a situation, quote the name of Jesus. Jesus, you're over for my finances. Jesus, you're over this doctor's report of cancer. Guess what? You don't even have to go back to the doctors ever again. You're free from the law. You see, the doctors tell you you've got cholesterol because of this number or you have type 2 diabetes because of this number. God is the one who controls my death. I'm going to die when he wants me to die. I'm not going to listen to the doctrines of men and what they think is true. especially since they keep changing the numbers over and over again to get more and more people on the drugs and the pills that are related to it. But you get to have freedom from that. I just wouldn't listen to the doctor. I remember hearing a story years ago, years, this is 30 plus years ago of a woman who was diagnosed with cancer. Basically, the doctor told her, "Go home, set your your house in order. You're going to die." She got home and and she was very embarrassed. So, she had shut her windows, but she went before the Lord, covered, put her shades up, and said, "Lord, I I I don't know what this is. I I don't want to have this. I'm going to just choose to come to you and praise you and worship you." And he told her to dance, and the scriptures do tell you to dance. She read about David and she got up and started dancing. And every day she started dancing. And before you know it, she forgot to put the shades down because she was just praising the Lord. Didn't matter who saw her. Six weeks later, she goes in and doctor tells her, "Whatever you're doing, keep doing it because it's working." That's the freedom you have. And I hope you're grasping this. 1 Corinthians 12:13, "For by one spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free, and have been made and have been all made to drink into one spirit." You see, it's the spirit of God now that moves in your life. He's the predominant one. He's the one that sets you free from the law. This is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit came down on the day of Pentecost. We are filled with that same Holy Spirit. We get to walk in the freedom from the law. Yes. Get that. Get that. We have the spirit. Galatians 3:27-29. For as many of you as been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek. There is neither bond nor free. There is neither male nor female. For ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ, then are ye Abraham's seeds seed and hes according to the promise. Oh, I just taught on Sarah and the promise with Abraham a few weeks ago. You can go check out those messages. Let me tell you, you are free from the law. Don't go back to men telling you how to live, men telling you what to do. Go be free and let Christ renew the transformation of you every single day as you grow closer to him. Stand in his word. Press into his word. Memorize those scriptures and quote them when you need to. Because I'm telling you, even though that enemy is out to steal, kill, and destroy, and he's prowling around you like a lion, guess what? Jesus is the lion of the tribe of Judah. And he is my Lord and my Savior. He is my friend, and he is King of glory. And I give him all the glory, praise, and honor, and strength for I walk with him. I choose to walk in the spirit. I choose to see things spiritually, not physically. I choose to walk in Christ and not the law, not the doctrines of men. I'm not going to listen to the world tell me how to live, how much water to drink, how much I should be moving or walking. No, I choose to walk in Christ. And as a result, I'm hoping that the Holy Spirit just bubbles out of me everywhere and splashes on everybody. And that is what my hope and expectation is walking with Christ. So when I quote his scripture and I pray over people, I pray in faith. I activate things in faith because God likes to work by faith. Very well. You want to work by faith. This is what your word said. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. My youth is renewed like the eagle. Psalm 103. Get in there and get that. I don't have to. Yeah, I'm going to turn 55 this year. I don't have to act like a 55year-old or be a 55year-old because my youth is renewed like the eagles. So when I do a belly flop on the concrete, guess what? I stand up because as a kid I fell on the ground then too and I healed rapidly. That's the faith we're talking about. Friends, I hope that you choose to walk in the freedom that you have with the spirit of God. Choose that, my friend. Let's close in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word. We thank you for building up our faith and our strength in you, Father God. We thank you for your glory because you did this. And I pray that you continue to manifest and move through us. We have a revival in you that we transform inside and walk by faith. You are precious and glorious. I pray that we do not forget this message, but that we apply it to our lives. speak your word over our bodies and walk in the spirit in the name of Jesus. Amen. Amen. Amen. God bless you. I will see you in the next message. Bye-bye.
