I pondered whether it would be a year of wonders for us personally, and by that I mean, us the church, or whether it would be a year of wonders for the nations as well. It seems that many others have received the same message about 2014 possibly being a year of wonders, which leads me to believe that this year, wonders may be revealed not only to the church in general, but to the people of the nations of the world as well. One of the things that I read about that have many talking about the year 2014 had to do with a Jewish Rabbi in Israel named Kaduri, who claimed that Messiah had revealed Himself to him. He said that Messiah told him that soon after the former prime minster of Israel Ariel Sharon died, that Messiah would return, then he wrote in a piece of paper the name of Messiah, sealed it in an envelope, then gave instructions not to open the envelope until a year after he, the rabbi, had died himself. I believe the rabbi died at the ripe age of 108 in the year 2007 or 2008, a year after he died they opened the envelope according to his instructions, and to everyone’s surprise he named Jesus as the Messiah who appeared to him, which to say the least caused a lot of controversy at the time. At the beginning of this new year of 2014, the news came that the condition of the former prime minister of Israel, Ariel Sharon, who has been in a coma for about seven years, had deteriorated considerably. That got a lot of people talking about that this may be the year when the Lord reveals Himself to the nations. I confess that I had not heard about the Rabbi’s prophecy until I read about it in the internet a couple of days ago, on the sixth of January. The things that I want to deal with in this lesson are the implications that an open manifestation of worldwide wonders would have upon us believers, what these wonders could possibly be, and how they would affect us as individuals. Isaiah 2:10 “Enter into the rock, and hide in the dust, from the terror of the Lord and the glory of His majesty.” As the Lord was impressing on me that this might be a year of wonders, He gave me the above Scripture, which I opened with in the prayers that empower page, on the prayer focus for January of 2014, and I wrote that this might be our theme for the whole year: Enter into the Rock. And as I was meditating on Isaiah’s counsel to enter into the Rock and hide in the dust, the Lord revealed to me that the dust was a reference to hide within the multitudes of His many promises. As when the Lord promised Abraham that his seed would be like the sand of the seashore. So that the way that we enter into the Rock and hide from the terror of His majestic wonders is by taking shelter within the many promises that He has given to all who keep His Word and who have not denied His name. It is interesting that Micah reveals what is going to happen to those who do not embrace God’s Word or revere the name of Jesus when the heavenly wonders begin to unfold. Micah 7:17 “They shall lick the dust as a serpent; they shall crawl from their holes like snakes of the earth. They shall be afraid of the Lord our God, and shall fear because of You.” It is also interesting what the book of Revelation says is going to happen to the unbelievers of this world when the majesty of the Lord is revealed from heaven. Revelation 6:14-17 “Then the sky receded like as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, ‘Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?’” Kind of ironic that while the believers are trusting God’s promises, and by so doing are entering into the Rock of their salvation, the unbelievers are running to the caves and rocks only to find themselves crushed by the very Rock that they have rejected and the promises that they have ridiculed. Micah 7:18 “Who is a God like You, pardoning iniquity and passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in mercy.” I just read about a poll today that said that more Americans believe on aliens today than those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God. And it is not surprising to me, since so many books and television programs continuously try to explain those things from the past which science cannot explain by attributing it to the workings of ancient aliens. What is the devil’s goal in all of this? For a while now I have been asking this rhetorical question of those of you who read my writings: When the majesty of Jesus is revealed in the sky will you see Him as your Savior or as your judge? Guess how the devil wants people to see the return of Jesus? The devil wants you to see Jesus return as a ferocious alien who is coming to take over the earth and to subjugate all the people as slaves to do His will. It was former US president Ronald Reagan who told the general assembly of the United Nations how petty our human differences would seem if all of the sudden the entire world was threaten by alien invaders. Just how do you think the antichrist rises to power and unites the entire world behind him to fight against Jesus Christ? Scripture teaches us that he cannot be revealed and take over the world until the true believers are removed from this earth. 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 “For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.” The goal of the enemy is to pervert the teachings about the soon return of Jesus to rescue us, to the point where believers are mislead as to who the real Jesus is, and as to what His intentions are, and the devil will do this through the power of fear, when the mighty wonders are revealed. After all, this is what is written about then; Isaiah called the wonders: The terror of the Lord and the glory of His majesty. Micah said, They shall be afraid of the Lord our God and shall fear because of You. But here is one of the many promises that we can envelope ourselves with and be protected from the spirit of fear: 1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” The question that I often ask about how we will see Jesus when He returns, as a Savior or as a judge? Is rooted in the Scripture above. I know that Jesus has forgiven me all of my sins, past, present and future. I know that I have already been judged and have passed from death into life, so that I fear no torment. I know as a matter of fact that when Jesus returns, He is coming to take me to a place that He has prepared for me. I know that He is coming to welcome me into His joy, and I know for sure that He has good plans for me. How do I know all of that? That is what He promises me in His Word! And not only to me, but to all who are willing to believe in His Word. 1 Corinthians 13:7-8 “(Love) Bears all things, believes all things (in the Word of God where the love of God towards us humans is revealed), hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails…” Micah 7:19 “He will again have compassion on us, and will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins (past, present and future) into the depths of the sea.” John 5:24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” John 14:3 “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” Matthew 25:23 “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.” Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” In 1989 I experienced a vision of the rapture, you can read the entire vision in the introduction pages of my book Man’s Final Destiny , available free in the books section of www.houseoffaithministries.org . When I saw the wonder of Jesus revealed in the sky as He was heading rapidly towards me, my body became unglued, I cannot sufficiently explain the terrible fear that I felt as I first looked at Him in His glory. Every cell in my body was trembling so violently that I felt like my entire body was coming undone, and yet in the midst of the great and terrifying fear that my physical body was experiencing, the real me, my spirit man, rose from deep within me and shouted at the top of his voice: HALLELUJAH HE KEPT HIS PROMISE! I will never again experience, until Jesus returns for me in the rapture, such great joy and such dreadful fear as I experienced in that vision. I’m just sharing this so that you can see where I am coming from. John 6:63 “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” There is nothing that we can do to prepare our flesh for its inevitable encounter with the glory of Jesus, for the flesh of those who are being rapture dies the instant that it beholds His glorious and wonderful majesty, for no mortal flesh can withstand such glory. But for those of us who fully embrace the promises of God deep within our hearts, at His revealing, our spirit man will be clothed with a new, immortal, and eternal physical body, that will never cease to give Him the glory, honor, and the praise that He deserves. We do not yet know what kind of wonders will be revealed from heaven this year, and we do not know what lies the devil will infuse into the world as he tries to deceive the elect if it were possible. Top of Page DEEP AND SECRET THINGS Daniel 2:22 “He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness (that which is hidden), and light (understanding) dwells (originates) with Him.” Daniel, along with the many wise men of Babylon were being rounded up by the king’s soldiers in order to be put to death. Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, had a very disturbing dream, so he called on his wise men to tell him the interpretation of his dream. But for some reason the king doubted the reliability of his wise men, so he added a caveat to his request: If you can tell me what I dreamed, then I’ll know that your interpretation can be trusted. Daniel 2:5-6 “The king answered and said to the Chaldeans (his inner circle of wise men), ‘My decision is firm: if you do not make known the dream to me, and its interpretation, you shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made an ash heap. However, if you tell the dream and its interpretation, you shall receive from me gifts, rewards, and great honor. Therefore tell me the dream and its interpretation.’” You can hear the desperation in their voices as they tell the king that what he is requesting of them is impossible for any man to produce. Daniel 2:10-11 “The Chaldeans answered the king and said, ‘There is not a man on earth who can tell the king’s matter; therefore no king, lord, or ruler has ever asked such things of any magician, astrologer, or Chaldean. It is a difficult thing that the king requests, and there is no other who can tell it to the king except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.’” The king would not take no for an answer, so he began to round up his so-called wise men and the executions began. Daniel 2:13 “So the decree went out, and they began killing the wise men; and they sought Daniel and his companions, to kill them.” There was a certain criteria, that if met, would qualify a person to be designated as a wise men. They had to be of a good lineage, educated, wise, trainable, healthy, gifted, and good-looking. Daniel 1:3-4 “Then the king instructed Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs, to bring some of the children of Israel and some of the king’s descendants and some of the nobles, young men in whom there was no blemish, but good-looking, gifted in all wisdom, possessing knowledge and quick to understand, who had ability to serve in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the language and literature of the Chaldeans.” When Israel was conquered and the Israelites were taken into captivity as slaves, some of the young captives were set apart under this category, which included Daniel and his companions. So when the decree was given to kill all the wise men, they started with the least of them, those on the bottom of the list of those they qualified as wise men, in the hope that those on the top of the list of wise men, the Chaldeans, would get the message that the king was serious. Now Daniel was not privy to what had taken place in the king’s court, so when they came to kill him, he wisely asked the reason why they were going to kill him and why it was so urgent a matter. Daniel 2:14-15 “Then with counsel and wisdom Daniel answered Arioch, the captain of the king’s guard, who had gone out to kill the wise men of Babylon; he answered and said to Arioch the king’s captain, ‘Why is the decree from the king so urgent?’ Then Arioch made the decision known to Daniel” Once Daniel became informed, he went before the king, asked for time, and told his companions to pray and to ask for God’s mercies, so that they would not have to perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. Daniel 2:19 “Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. So Daniel blessed the God of heaven.” As we read this story, our natural tendency is to place our focus on the secret that was revealed to Daniel, in regards to the revelation of what the king had dreamed. But if we take a closer look, the secret that was revealed to Daniel involved a lot more than what the king’s dream was. How do I know? Daniel’s blessing of the God of heaven reveals that. Daniel 2:20 “Daniel answered and said: ‘Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His.’” In our present-day way of thinking, we do not put much stock to the meaning or value of a name. But throughout much of history, everything about a person hinged on the reputation attached to his or her name. Perhaps the closer that we can come today in regards to the value of a name, is if we see it as a password that allows us access to great and unknown mysteries. So it is no wonder that the first thing that Daniel blesses and gives thanks for is the name of God, which is what allowed him access to God to begin with. John 16:24 “Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” The most important thing that Jesus has given to us is His name. For it is the name of Jesus that grants us access to the heavenly court. Since the name of God reveals His nature, the first two qualities of the name of God revealed to Daniel is that God is all knowing and that He is all powerful: Wisdom and might are His. Since God knows everything, He knew what the king’s dream was, since it was God who gave him the dream to begin with; and He had no problem revealing to Daniel. But Daniel’s blessing of the name of God goes much farther than just knowing about the dream of a king who had trouble sleeping. Daniel learned a lot more in his night vision that meets the eye. Daniel 2:21 “And He changes the times and seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.” The second part of the revelation to Daniel was that, the God who knows everything is willing to give wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. And in order for us to receive the wisdom and the knowledge that comes from God, it requires that we have a basic understanding of how He changes the times and seasons, and how God is in complete control of their outcome. It is through our understanding of the times and seasons that He reveals the deep and secret things to us, as in our opening text, for He knows what is in the darkness and light dwells with Him. Everything that is going on in the world right now is a direct result of the times and seasons that our Lord has set in motion from the foundation of the world. Nothing that is happening is happening out of chance, be it personal, corporal, or natural. If we want to understand the times that we are living in, we need to understand the timing of God’s seasons and cycles. According to Daniel, one of the ways that we can observe the changing of the cycles is through the process of the raising and the removing of kings and their kingdoms. The dream itself revealed as much, to where we can follow Daniel’s interpretation of the dream to our very present day. Daniel 2:43 “As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they (demonic entities) will mingle with the seed of men (the human race); but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay.” We are living in the midst of the greatest demonic infusion into our earthly realm since the days of Noah, when the Lord had to destroy every thing that had the breath of life in it. The sin of rebellion—which is as the sin of witchcraft—opens the doors to these abominable creatures to enter into our physical realm. The nations of the world have already decided that which is sin, according to the Bible, is acceptable and normal behavior to them. This world-wide rebellion against the precepts of the Word of God is what allows they, these demonic entities, to mingle with the seed of men. 2 Peter 2:4-6, 9-10 “For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly...then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment, and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority…” We have presently come full cycle to the past judgments and it is our turn now. These deep and secret things have been revealed to those of us who seek for the wisdom and understanding that comes from God and His Word. It is time for us to put our houses in order, for the days of the end are much nearer than we think, let us be wise in the wisdom of God. Top of Page Top of Page NO FEAR OF GOD IN THE LAND Written by Pastor Marcos Marrero Published on 10/16/22 Amos 6:3 “Woe to you who put far off the day of doom, who cause the seat of violence to come near.” One of the meanings for the word Fear is to have a Reverential awe towards God! Instinctively we know that God is both—the Creator and the Judge. We are also able to comprehend that after death we have to face our own personal judgment before God. But in a grander scale we also—by way of instinct—realize that all of humanity will at one point come to its final conclusion. Ecclesiastes 12:14 “For God will bring EVERY WORK INTO JUDGMENT, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.” Capitals in the Scriptures added by me for emphasis. This reverential awe towards our Creator has been written within our genetic code. The spiritual dynamics of Love and Hate and of Good and Evil are also written within our genetic code. What does it all means? MORTALITY verses IMMORTALITY! Ecclesiastes 8:8 “No one has power over the spirit to retain the spirit, and no one has power in the day of death. There is no release from that war, and wickedness will not deliver those who are given to it.” No one can stop themselves from dying because we cannot retain our spirit to keep it from leaving us. What that means is that our spirits are immortal, and when we die it leaves us and returns to God who gave it to us in the first place. Ecclesiastes 12:7 “Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.” There is a war however, between our spirit and our flesh or between mortality and immortality; and no one is released from that war until the day we die and face that final Judgment. Hebrews 9:27 “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.” The verse: Wickedness will not deliver those who are given to it; this is a reference to our souls which are immortal as well, but have been corrupted by wickedness and thereby in need of deliverance before we face the final judgment after we die. Ecclesiastes 9:5 “For the living know that they will die; but the dead know nothing, and they have no more reward…” Provision has to be made for our souls before we die and face the judgment. How do we do that? We have to believe that only God has the power to condemn or to free our souls while we are alive, if we wait until after we die it is too late. Today is the day of salvation do not put it off. Mathew 10:28 “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather FEAR (have a Reverential awe towards God) Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Mathew 11:29 “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Rest for our souls can only be found in the atoning blood of Jesus and can only be received by faith as we believe in our hearts that God raise Jesus from the dead and confess with our mouths that He is our Lord. Romans 10:9 “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, YOU WILL BE SAVED (your soul will be delivered from hell).” Now concerning the spiritual dynamics between Good and Evil and Love and Hate; when there is a healthy respect or godly fear of the law of God and of the final judgment, society functions on the premises that Love is Good and that the government’s concerns is for the well being of those they rule over; even within the enforcement of justice. Grace is the overall goal or remedy, that as long as there is life there is the hope for redemption for every lost soul. The nations whose governments functioned under the guidance of Judeo Christian values enjoyed by far the most liberty and prosperities ever known in the history of man. Psalm 2:1-3 “Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His anointed, saying, let us break Their bonds in pieces and cast away Their cords from us.” We are living in the presence of this prophecy being fulfilled, as one by one all the nations of the free world have turned their backs on the biblical principles that made them free and prosperous. What are the spiritual implications that we are experiencing as a result of their rebellion? We are in the transition of leaving behind love for what is good and entering into the depravity of hateful evil. The nations have fallen for the demonic delusion of good is bad and bad is good. 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 “The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the LOVE OF THE TRUTH, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that THEY ALL may be CONDEMNED who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” Remember the Scripture that said: “There is no release from that war, and wickedness will not deliver those who are given to it.” Also, we see in our opening Scripture that as this transition is taking place it has repercussions upon the inhabitants of this earth: “Who cause the seat of violence to come near.” The seat of God’s judgment day gets closer and closer the more and more that wickedness increases on the land. But God is looking for repentance, a turning away from evil. Amos 5:4, 6 “For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel: Seek Me and live. 6) Seek the Lord and live, lest He brake out like fire in the house of Joseph and devour it…” In the absence of a world-wide revival that would bring most of the nations of the world to their knees in true repentance—sad to say—this is it! The signs that we are rushing head long into the end of days are overwhelming. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 “BUT KNOW THIS, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. AND FROM SUCH PEOPLE TURN AWAY!” How do we keep ourselves from falling for this great delusion? Remember always the spiritual dynamics that are involved in what is taking place. Love vs. Hate and Good vs. Evil. We must resist the temptation to give into the rage of hate, by keeping God’s Word alive in our hearts: Always abiding in the love of God that preserves us. Habakkuk 3:2 “O Lord, I have heard Your speech and was afraid; O lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known; IN WRATH REMEMBER MERCY.” 1 Peter 4:7-8 “But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. And ABOVE ALL THINGS have fervent love for one another, for love will cover a multitude of sins.” As long as our moral compass is anchored in the love of God, we will always have a firm grip on reality and a firm hold on to what is good and thereby refrain from that which is not. Romans 12:1-2 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be COMFORMED to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that GOOD and acceptable and perfect will of God.” We can then see that Hate and Evil always go hand in hand, we cannot have one without the other. Hatred is the personification of evil itself, we should never give in to the venom of hate. 1 John 4:19-20 “We love Him because He first loved us. If someone says, ‘I love God,’ and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?” Every time that we express God’s love and goodness to others we are insulating ourselves from the toxicity of hate and evil. Such is the work of the spiritual dynamics between Love and Good. Psalm 85:10-12 “Mercy and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed. Truth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from heaven. Yes, the Lord will give what is GOOD; and our land will yield its increase.” Here we see the same spiritual dynamics at work, but this time for the Good of all mankind. The truth that springs upward from the earth is our faith in the Word of God, and heaven’s response is righteousness rained down from heaven upon us who faithfully believe and wait fervently for His appearing. Here is a prayer of gratitude from one of His maidservants: Luke 1:46-55 “And Mary said: My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; for behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed. For He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name. and His mercy is on those who FEAR (have a Reverential awe towards God) Him from generation to generation. He has shown strength with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He has put down the mighty from their thrones, and exalted the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich He has sent away empty. Top of Page THE HEALING OF THE DISEASED John 6:2 “Then a great multitude followed Him, because they saw His signs which He performed on those who were diseased.” Diseased: Feeble, Impotent, Sick. All of the above are Greek meanings for the word translated diseased. We can safely surmise that powerlessness is the root cause of all those who are diseased, and that is why it is preceded by the word performed. In other words, Jesus was able to perform on behalf of those who were powerless, that which they were unable to do for themselves. Jesus strengthened the feeble, He healed the sick, and He empowered the powerless to do that which they were not able to do for themselves. No wonder a great multitude followed Him, for no matter what the sickness or the need was of anyone that came to Jesus, they were all empowered to overcome their deficiencies. John 5:46-47 “For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?” Jesus gave those who doubted Him and His ministry, an earth shaking revelation, one that we will do well to appreciate and understand. We humans have the tendency to focus on the actions instead of the causes. I am sure that many of those who followed Jesus did so because of the signs; they saw results, so why bother with the causes. In other words, they did not worry where the power that Jesus exercised was coming from as long as they themselves became the beneficiaries of that power. As long as they were healed it did not matter to them where the power originated from. Meanwhile, on the other side we find the ones that were questioning the ministry of Jesus, they just simply ignored the results of His ministry, for they could not accept that a single human could have been vested with so much power by God Himself. John 5:18 “Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him (Jesus), because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God.” What was earth shaking about what Jesus told them was that if they had believed what Moses wrote to them, then they should have believed in Him as well, for Moses had told them about Jesus before Jesus even came to this earth. Deuteronomy 18:15,18 “The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear...I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and I will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him.” The Jews of Jesus’ day were raised to know the Scriptures and to abide by them. They believed that the miracles that God performed through the hands of Moses happened as written in the Scriptures. They also believed and were looking for the Prophet that Moses told them that God would raise from their own brethren in the future. Now if one believes the promises that Moses wrote, and if one sees Jesus doing great signs and wonders, that which only God is able to do, the only reasonable conclusion that one can arrive at is that Jesus is the One that Moses had promised them would come. Their leaders rejected Jesus because they did not really believe deep down in their hearts the writings of Moses, that is what Jesus told them: But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words? And the majority of the multitudes that followed Jesus at first, rejected Him afterwards, by publicly demanding that a murderer be released instead of Jesus; because they saw Jesus as one who could not empower them anymore, after He had fallen into the hands of the Romans. Mark 15:32 “‘Let the Christ, the King of Israel, descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe.’ Even those who were crucified with Him reviled Him.” So that both, their leaders, and many who witnessed the great wonders that Jesus performed among them, were eventually deceived and missed out on the benefits of the salvation that God had worked in their midst and on their behalf. So what are we looking for here that can help us today? Let us begin with two simple questions! 1) Do we have leaders in our midst today that profess to believe in the written Word of God, but deep within their hearts deny its power? 2) Do we have people today that follow after those whose ministry demonstrates signs and wonders, but really do not care where their power originates from as long as they get personal results? Here is the answer to the first question: 2 Timothy 3:1, 5 “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come...having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” Here is the answer to the second question: 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10 “The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.” Many real believers have fallen into the trap of certain ministries that project a real power and anointing, but who in reality do not fully adhere to true biblical teachings as evidenced by their carnality. And by the time those believers decide to turn away from such people, they begin to realize the spiritual damage that their involvement with such ministry caused them. On the other hand there are those who sit under ministries that proclaim the Word of God but deny that its power is for today. Those folks can never achieve their true destiny in Christ Jesus for lack of faith. So what is the answer? Here is what Jesus told the believers of His day: John 5:38-40 “But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He send, you do not believe. You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.” In the days of Jesus there had been many others who had claimed to be the Messiah, and some of them had gather themselves many followers. So that there was a real need to be careful. But this is what Jesus told them, You do not have His word abiding in you. Their problem was that they were not living out the Word of God. But you may say, were they not searching out The Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life? They were searching out the Scriptures alright, but they could not find Jesus in them, and if they did, they were Not willing to come to Me (Jesus) that you may have life. So what is going on here? Believe it or not, at the root of this problem is law and grace. When the Jews of Jesus’ day searched the Scriptures this is what they were looking for, Let the Christ, the King of Israel, descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. They were looking for a King that would save them from the Romans, not a Savior that would save them from their sins. That is the reason why they could not find, or were not willing to accept the testimony of the Scriptures about Jesus. They searched the Scriptures for a King and not a Savior. It was very clear within the writings of Moses that the law condemned, and that the only remedy for sin was the shedding of innocent blood. For it was written that the soul that sinned shall surely be cut off. So here was the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world hanging on the cross, bleeding to make atonement for their transgressions, and they are telling Him to come down from there so that He can earn their faith. One cannot get anymore selfish than that! Now let us bring this lesson to our present situation. Which Jesus are you looking for today, the One who will make all your troubles disappear in an instant by coming down from the cross and cater to your every need, or the One who is making you conscious of your need to be delivered from your sinful nature? John 5:26-27 “For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man.” To be diseased is to be dead in trespasses and sin, in order for us to be alive we need to abide in Him, to abide in His Word, and in His grace. Once we come into the knowledge that His grace is sufficient for us, and that there is no need to follow the signs and the wonders, then the signs and wonders will follow our faith, if we dare to trust in His Word. And as we stand firmly in His grace, which also means favor, we know that all things are possible for those of us who believe, therefore we will never deny the power that is in His Word, nor limit our faith to the point of hindering the destiny that He has for each one of us who dare to trust Him to the uttermost. We don’t know how much time because the Bible doesn't tell us, but we can guess that at least several months to maybe a handful of years went by where there was no Eve. How do I know this? How many animals, beasts, and birds did God create that Adam named and how long do you think it took Adam to name them all? Imagine this, let’s say God brought in a male and female animal that were gray, big, and heavy with trunks on them and Adam says I will call these elephants. What-if God asked Adam why? And what-if Adam asked God why a skinny tail versus a bigger tail to match its girth? You see God and Adam were talking or having a relationship. They were spending time with one another. God interacted with the image He made of Himself. Genesis 1:26a (NKJV) 26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; We were made extremely different then any other creature God had already made. We don’t look like the angels and to top it all off, God was spending time with Adam, not the other angels. Which begs the question, who was in the Garden of Eden watching? Ezekiel 28:13 (NKJV) 13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes Was prepared for you on the day you were created. Satan was in the garden of Eden and he was watching everything going on. He was perplexed and confused to say the least. He couldn’t figure out how could God spend so much time with such an inferior creature? When comparing man against his beauty, there was no comparison. He was made with every precious stone and was so beautiful, yet God wasn’t spending time with him…no he was spending time with Adam. When Satan saw that God placed a female in the Garden and left to give Adam and Eve a ‘honeymoon’, Satan wanted to show God how inferior this creature was. In fact, he wanted to make it such a point to rub it in His face…and was probably thinking that he could do a better job in creating creatures. And that is why Satan wanted us. And he continues to want us to this day because every time he wins, he's hurting God. Satan doesn't care about who you are or what you do but he does care that God loves you so much that he'll do everything in his power to hurt you because he knows it will hurt God. To put it simply, Satan hates God and everything God loves, Satan hates. God showed His love by spending time with Adam. Love is action and God is action. I bet Satan thought he was right when he deceived Eve and Adam. Genesis 3:1-6 (NKJV) 3 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” 2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ” 4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was [a ]pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves [b ]coverings. But God. He had a bigger plan all along. John 3:16-17 (NKJV) 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. We’re made in His image and He loves us. He paid a large price, the death of His Son on the cross, to get us back from the curse of sin when Adam and Eve disobeyed God because of Satan's hatred toward Him. Romans 6:23 (NKJV) 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the [a ]gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. After Adam and Eve sinned, they began aging and eventually died. But Jesus broke death by rising from the dead. Matthew 28:6a (NKJV) 6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Hallelujah! Now you and I can rise from certain death by believing and Satan may want to hurt us to hurt God but he can't hurt us anymore. God made a way for us to be saved! Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV) 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. And all it takes is talking to God. It began as a relationship with God and Adam, and it will end in a relationship with God and me (you). Say this out loud: Dear Jesus, thank You for dying on the cross. Forgive me of my sins and come into my life. Be my Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ Name Amen! Praise the Lord! You are now saved through Jesus Christ and don’t let anyone or anything tell you otherwise. Protect yourself by staying in that relationship with God because where God is, Satan isn’t.
