Top of Page COME NOW, AND LET US REASON TOGETHER Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord, though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” Life is a constant ending of things that previously began. I can safely say that every human that was born one hundred and fifty years ago is dead right now. And it would be a pretty safe bet to declare, that if Jesus does not return on the next one hundred and fifty years, that all humans who are alive today will also be dead then. What gives us humans the ability to transcend this cycle of life and death, is that we have been endowed with the capacity to reason, that is, to think outside of whatever current circumstance we are in, and imagine a life that not only lives, but thrives, outside of the perimeters that constantly hems us in, and that keep us bound to our present reality. Job 14:14 “If a man dies, shall he live again? All the days of my hard service I will wait, till my change comes.” It is our God given ability to reason that allows us to believe a thought that is foreign to our present reality, that a divine change will one day come, a change that is both personal and general in nature. This change has to do with the question that Job poses, If a man dies, shall he live again? Personally speaking it asks, will I live again? And since all men have died and continue to die throughout the ages, generally speaking it asks, will the all live again as well, after the change has come? So that mortal man, unlike unreasoning animals, can picture in his mind a life of immortality, an idea so at odds with our human environment, that it has to originate from an Eternal God. We see that every culture, past or present, is intuitively knitted with an idea that in the natural is extremely foreign to man, the thought of immortality; yet in spite of such overwhelming evidence, the fact that humans throughout the ages have reasoned that which in the natural seems unreasonable, still, many nations and peoples refuse to acknowledge the fact that man was originally created for a divine purpose. Isaiah 1:2-3 “Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth! For the Lord has spoken: I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against Me; The ox knows its owner and the donkey its master’s crib; but Israel does not know, My people (humans) do not consider (they have a willful lack of understanding).” It is humanly impossible to understand the times of the end without a reasonable understanding of the fact that a change must come. So let us ask the question, why is it a fact that a change must come? Humans were never destined to live in sin forever! Contrary to popular belief humans are not mortal, not before God, for to Him all live, that makes us humans immortal, and every human knows that intuitively. But before we can enter into immortality with God, our rebellious nature has to be disposed of, we must be made cleaned first, for our God is a holy God. In our opening verse God tells us that our sins are like a stain that has to be removed before we can enter into His eternal abode, that is also a foreign reasoning that comes to us directly from God. Have you ever bathed your dog only to see him run out and do a couple of rolls in the grass or dirt? Animals do not understand the concept of dirtiness or sin, only humans can relate to that concept; where does our ability to relate to filth and to sins comes from? Since we intuitively know that a change is coming, that leads us to believe that a preparation is necessary before we translate into that change, it comes natural. Without knowing, one that a change is coming, and two, that we must prepare ourselves for that change, we become like unreasoning animals that have no concept of eternity and end up dying in our sins. Isaiah 1:6 “From the sole of the foot even to the head, there is no soundness in it, but wounds and bruises and putrefying sores; they have not been closed or bound up, or soothed with ointment.” What makes us humans valuable to God is our ability to reason with Him, for if we understand Him, then we know what He expects from us, and what we can expect from Him, then we can make a reasonable choice to be and abide with Him as an act of our will, based on an intelligent decision made on the merits of the facts. With Him there is love, joy, peace, health, beauty, provision, eternal protection, happiness. Without Him there is nothing but eternal pain, sufferings, and sorrows, this is not brain surgery friends! Any half-witted reasoning will get us to make the right choice. Unless we are not willing to believe, which is the case in many instances, many will rather ignore sound reasoning for the temporary joy of rolling in the mud without guilt for a season. But if they really knew about eternity, and how much is really at stake, I doubt that any reasoning soul would be willing to risk an eternity of suffering for a few moments of frivolous carnal indulgence, I am, of course, speaking here about unsaved people. Isaiah 1:16-17 “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, learn to do good; seek justice, rebuke the oppressor; defend the fatherless, plead for the widow.” For those of us who walk in the light of God’s salvation, we know that it is the precious blood of Jesus that turned our scarlet sins into snow white purity, and our crimson stain into precious white wool. We already believe in the resurrection from the dead and walk in the certainty that is, the age that is to come; so far this message has been a call that is aimed at the unbelievers, as I appealed to their ability to reason outside of carnal reasoning. Next I will bring into focus the role of the backsliders during the end times, those who already heard and believed the Gospel, but somehow have been dissuaded from following the plan of salvation that God has ordained for their lives. Isaiah 1:27-28 “Zion shall be redeemed with justice, and her penitents (returners) with righteousness. The destruction of transgressors and of sinners shall be together, and those who forsake the Lord shall be consumed.” There is nothing like a close call with death to get us back into the reality of life. That is why the end time, what the Bible calls the day of the Lord, will be such a frightful and terrifying event. Joel 2:1, 11 “Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all inhabitants of the land tremble; for the day of the Lord is coming, for it is at hand...The Lord gives voice before His army, for His camp is very great; for strong is the One who executes His word. For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; who can endure it?” Our redemption is going to be a messy business, for it will involve the beginning of the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners that get left behind, our redemption initiates God’s judgments against all those who forsake the Lord. The back sliders that repent (returners) in the face of the coming judgments, will be delivered with righteousness and kept out of the judgment. Those who have never believed and repent by calling on the name of the Lord, when confronted with the impending judgments, will also be delivered with righteousness, since they knew by instinct that a change was coming. Acts 2:19-21 “I will show wonders in heaven above and signs in the earth beneath: blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Someone cynically may ask, if we will know of His imminent return, then why don’t we just live like hell now and repent when the wonders and signs are revealed before His coming? Isaiah 1:15 “When you spread (pray) out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.” Do you know whose blood your hands would be full of? If you reasoned that God was going to put an end to our present reality some day by ushering in a change, and then decided that when and if that really happened, that you would just somehow get on board of the salvation train and repent. Don’t you know that by your act of selfishness, those who might have known what was revealed to you, will never get the opportunity for salvation that they could of have, had you been a faithful witness to them, instead of living it up in the world. By your false witness before them, their blood is now in your hands and tribulation is the only hope left for you. Matthew 24:5 “For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.” The world has been totally saturated with stories of ancient aliens visiting humans in the past, which is nothing more than doctrines of demons that aim to prepare the unbelieving world to reject our Lord and Savior when He is revealed, by portraying Him falsely; causing those who lack Biblical understanding to flee to the mountains and mourn at His revelation instead of calling on Him to save then. Revelation 1:7 “Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.” Those of us who know the truth have been charged with the task of identifying the real Messiah at His appearing by our willingness and readiness to meet Him. 2 Timothy 4:8 “Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved (and are expectantly waiting for) His appearing.” Revelation 7:9-10 “After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!’” More teachings found here: Deliverance Ministry End Times Teachings Other Teachings

House of Faith Ministries (HoFM) presents a teaching on Genesis 2:15 “Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.” Top of Page THE KEEPER Genesis 2:15 “Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.” Keep: Shamar, in the original Hebrew text, and it means, To hedge about as with thorns (barb wire), to guard, to protect, as a watchman lying in wait for the enemy to try to come in and ambush him. Adam was commissioned by God to tend and to keep the garden of Eden. To Tend means to work by serving. Adam was to work while serving in the garden, and at the same time he was to keep it safe, by protecting the garden that he had been given dominion over—from demonic intruders, since there were at that time, no other humans besides Adam and Eve. We see two principles here that deal with our abilities to produce spiritual fruit from God: First, we need to work out our own salvation by serving God in order to produce spiritual fruit, since spiritual fruit does not happen by itself. Philippians 2:12-13 “Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do (to tend and to keep) for His good pleasure.” We are to seek after the things of God which are spiritual in order to produce spiritual fruit. Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Secondly, we need to watch out for thieves whose aim is to rob us of the blessings that come as a result of our serving the Living God with a true heart. Proverbs 27:18 “Whoever keeps (protects and/or tends) the fig tree will eat its fruit; so he who waits on his master will be honored.” Sadly, too many Christians who serve God faithfully, do not get to partake of the spiritual fruit that their true labor of love produces, because they are not aware of the thief who is robbing them blind. 1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” If the devil did not have the ability to deprive us of our spiritual blessings, we would not be commanded to be sober and be vigilant. I believe that the reason so many Christians are swindled by the devil out of their spiritual blessings, is because so many churches do not embrace the teachings of the ministry of deliverance, which is all about spiritual warfare and keeping watch: to guard, to protect, as a watchman laying in wait for the enemy to try to come in and ambush him. Matthew 24:43 “But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.” From the days of the garden of Eden, humans have let down their guard by failing to keep their garden safe and allowed the enemy to rob them of the fruits of their labor. Zechariah 13:7 “‘Awake, O sword, against My Shepherd, against the Man who is My Companion,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘Strike the Shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered; then I will turn My hand against the little ones.’” Behind Zechariah’s Messianic prophecy we see the spiritual principle that the enemy uses to steal our spiritual blessings from us. While the prophecy applies to Jesus dying on the cross and the scattering of His disciples, the principle works the same; if the devil can get to the shepherds of the church he can also scatter the sheep and turn his hand against them. Spiritual warfare is not a Christian accessory, it is a vital part of everyday Christianity. We are not guarding against flesh and blood enemies; we are protecting against principalities and powers. Ephesians 6:12 “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” In the face of the fact that not too many Christians are taught about spiritual warfare in their local churches—since way too many shepherds have been intimidated by the enemy—we are going to deal with the personal aspect of tending and keeping our own gardens. The number one, and must important thing that we need to know is that we have a personal—a one and one relationship with Jesus, and no natural family, or church family, or a shepherd who is the leader of the church of which we are members, is ever to come between us and our personal relationship that we have with Jesus, and our responsibility to tend and to keep watch over our own personal gardens. Matthew 10:37 “He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.” This ensures that if the shepherd fails in his responsibility to properly keep his congregation safe—if he fails to tend it properly—these church members are still guarded and protected by the Great Shepherd under whose wing they have taken refuge. That is why we take the Word of God to church with us, because our covenant is with the Word who became flesh and died for us, and not with mere mortal men. Where other men will fail us, Jesus is the Man that will never fail us. The second thing then, is that we are personally responsible to tend and to keep safe our own garden. What is our own garden? Joshua 24:15 “...But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua and Caleb were part of the twelve spies, ten of which gave a bad report and caused the rest of the people to turn back from their inheritance. Although Joshua and Caleb gave a good report, it was not accepted because of the fear that the report of the other ten spies brought into the camp. Although the possessing of their inheritance was delayed by forty years due to the false report of the other ten leaders, Joshua and Caleb entered into their inheritance because of their faith, while none of the others did, for they all died in the desert. While they were still part of the whole, they were able to keep the enemy from stealing what was their personal inheritance. Acts 16:31 “So they said, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.’” Our own garden is that which belongs to us in accordance with God’s promises, and it is our own personal responsibility to guard it and to keep it safe no matter what. If a church leader is pressured into compromising the promises given to the body of Christ—they do so at their own risk—we do not have to compromise our own personal promises, we can take a stand like Joshua and Caleb did. The third thing is, How do we guard our own personal garden? 1 John 4:1 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” Keep in mind that it is spiritual fruit that we are trying to guard. Also that our real enemies are spirits masking behind flesh and blood. Ephesians 6:13-17 “Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” If one draws a picture of a human body standing at attention, with both arms completely extended horizontally to the sides, it forms a cross. Now if we draw a line from the helmet of salvation through the breastplate of righteousness, on through the belt of truth where it ties with the buckle, and unto the feet which are shod with the gospel of peace. Then draw a separate line from the right hand which is holding the sword of the Spirit, to the left hand which is holding the shield of faith, the cross is complete. Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” The goal of spiritual fruit is self-control; the enemy of self-control is selfish-ambitions. Death to our self-life for the sake of Christ’s life always produces spiritual fruit, for such fruit emanates from the Anointed One Himself who dwells within those of us who believe in Him. But most importantly, those who die to themselves for the sake of living Christ’s life, clothe themselves with an impenetrable armor that not only protects them, but that also protects all that belongs to them. Matthew 6:19-20 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.” In spiritual warfare all that we surrender to Jesus is kept safe, for we may not always be able to keep the enemy with all his cunning out of our garden. But if all that is within our garden is marked with the sign of the cross, the devil cannot touch it; for it is holy to the Lord and consecrated to God and for the glory of His only begotten Son, the Anointed One. 1 Chronicles 16:22 “Saying, ‘Do not touch My anointed ones, and do My prophets no harm.’” Let us not forget that the armor of God is also the armor of light which completely covers us with His anointing. Romans 13:12, 14 “The night is far spent, the day is at hand. House of Faith Ministries (HoFM) presents a teaching on Zechariah 1:20 “Then the Lord showed me four craftsmen.” Top of Page THE FOUR CRAFTSMEN OF THE APOCALYPSE Zechariah 1:20 “Then the Lord showed me four craftsmen.” In the second vision that God revealed to Zechariah we are given a unique insight into the realm of spiritual warfare from an Old Testament perspective. It is my belief that all six of Zechariah’s visions are intricately connected to the prophecy in the book of Revelation about the four horseman of the Apocalypse that God had appointed to be revealed to those of us who are alive during the end of this age. Zechariah 1:8 “I saw by night, and behold, a man riding on a red horse, and it stood among the myrtle trees in the hollow; and behind him were horses: red, sorrel, and white.” In his first vision Zechariah sees horses of four different colors that the Lord sent to walk to and from throughout the earth. These different color horses are symbolic of the watchers that keep watch over the affairs of men and their relationship with God’s people here on the earth. Isaiah 62:6-7 “I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent, and give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.” If we understand the underpinning of Zechariah’s first vision we will be able to make better sense, not only of Zechariah’s second vision as it pertains to spiritual warfare, but about the spiritual warfare that is going on right now, for we are presently living in the days of the unveiling of the four horseman of the book of Revelation. Zechariah 1:11 “So they answered the Angel of the Lord, who stood among the myrtle trees, and said, ‘We have walked to and from throughout the earth, and behold, all the earth is resting quietly.’” The first thing that we need to recognize in order to make sense of the visions is that they revolved around the city of Jerusalem. For seventy years the Lord had removed the Jewish people from the land of Judah and from the city of Jerusalem, to give the land the Sabbath day of rest that they owed the land. When Moses lead the Israelites out of Egypt, he instructed them that when they entered into the land that the Lord was giving them, that they were suppose to give the land a year of rest every seven years. No sowing and no reaping, they had to trust the Lord to provide for them a double harvest during the six years that would last them for the whole seventh year that they were not supposed to be tilling the land. They violated the law of the Sabbath rest for the land, for four hundred and ninety years consecutively, so that they owed the land seventy years of rest: 490 / 7 = 70 years. When the time for God’s judgment fell upon them, God used the nations of the earth to remove them from the land and to keep them out of the land for the seventy years that they owed. Zechariah 1:12 “Then the Angel of the Lord answered and said, ‘O Lord of hosts, how long will You not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which You were angry these seventy years?’” Zechariah, in his first vision is privy to an event that is taking place in the spiritual realm; he sees horses and asked what they mean. After he is told that they are the watchers that watch over the affairs of men, the Angel of the Lord speaks to God in front of Zechariah, reminding God that the seventy years are now over. God answers the Angel of the Lord with good and comforting words in verse thirteen. Then the reason is revealed as to why the Lord had given Zechariah a ringside seat, if you will, to what was going on in the spiritual realm, after he is told that he is to prophesy, within the context of all that he had witnessed, to the Jews that were in exile. Zechariah 1:14-15 “So the angel who spoke with me said to me, "proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: I am zealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with great zeal. I am exceedingly angry with the nations at ease; for I was a little angry, and they helped—but with evil intent.’” The Lord reveals that He is angry with the nations that He used to remove the Jews from Jerusalem and from the land of Judah, because of their evil intent while He was using them against His own people. As always the Lord’s judgments against the nations of the earth have to do with how they treated or mistreated His own people. Remember what God told Abraham when He entered into a covenant with him? I will bless those who bless you and I will curse those who curse you. Then Zechariah proceeded to proclaim to the Jews of his day that God was restoring them back into the land from where they had been exiled for seventy years, and that God would again choose Jerusalem as its capitol. Which leads us right into the second vision that deals with how the Lord removes the demonic strongholds that Satan placed over the nation of Israel, when he took advantage of them, while they were in exile for their disobedience to the commandments that God gave them through Moses. Zechariah 1:18 “Then I raised my eyes and looked, and there were four horns.” Zechariah’s first vision began at night, which is symbolic of the spiritual darkness that was all around the nation of Israel at that time. In the second vision the Lord is revealing to Zechariah the source of the spiritual darkness that is all around him. Zechariah 1:19 “And I said to the angel who talked with me, ‘What are these?’ So he answered me, ‘These are the horns (powers) that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.’” When God’s hand of blessing is over a people, there is absolutely nothing that the devil can do against them, for our God is Almighty. The enemy knows that, as long as God’s protection is over His people, he is powerless against them, so he is always at work to temp those who belong to God into rebelling against God. Obedience to God always brings enlightenment, and disobedience to God always brings darkness. Zechariah 1:2-3 “The Lord has been very angry with your fathers. Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: Return to Me,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘And I will return to you,’ says the Lord of hosts.” The Lord was very angry with the fathers because of their disobedience to the commandment of God in regards to their obligation to give the land a year of rest every seventh year. Now that their debt is paid in full, for they have been out of the land for seventy years, they can be restored back to their land if they return to the Lord first, and acknowledge that without God in their midst they are in darkness. Zechariah 1:20-21 “Then the Lord showed me four craftsmen. And I said, ‘What are these coming to do?’ So he said, ‘These are the (four) horns (powers) that scattered Judah, so that no one could lift up his head; but the craftsmen are coming to terrify them, to cast out the horns of the nations that lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter it.’” In warfare whoever controls the high ground has the advantage over their adversary; because of their disobedience to the Word of God Israel was put at a disadvantage where they could not lift up their heads and have a clear picture of their spiritual condition. Now that they are returning to God, the Lord sends them four craftsmen or carpenters to dismantle the demonic infrastructure that prevents them from regaining the upper hand, the lifting up of their heads. Notice the language that the angel uses that describes how these demonic hordes will be terrified by these four craftsmen before they are cast out. What are these four craftsmen symbolic of? 2 Corinthians 12:12 “Truly the signs of an apostle were accomplished among you with all perseverance, in signs and wonders and mighty deeds.” The four craftsmen are symbolic of the apostolic anointing! The apostolic anointing is the force that God brings about to dismantle the four horns or powers that keep God’s children in darkness. What are the four horns symbolic of? Galatians 5:19-21 “Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outburst of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God (which is light, and those who practice those things are still in darkness).” The four horns are symbolic of the works of the flesh! PERVERSION: Adultery, Fornication, Uncleanness and Lewdness. DIVISION: Hatred, Contentions, Envy and Jealousies. FALSE RELIGION: Idolatry, Sorcery, Dissensions and Heresies. MALFUNCTION: Outbursts of Wrath, Murder, Drunkenness and Revelries. At the center ofcourse is Selfish Ambition the soul motivator before we became born-again. I took the liberty of dividing them into four categories that revolve around the self motivated soul. The number seventeen is the seventh prime number. Zechariah’s first vision is recorded in chapter one, beginning in verse seven to verse seventeen. A clear double emphasis that the Holy Spirit reveals to us to show us how important to our present day Zechariah’s visions are. Also, all of us have sixteen great-great-grandparents in our family tree, and if you form a pyramid with self sitting on top of it, with two parents directly below, four grandparents below them, eight great-grandparents below them and sixteen great-great-grandparents as the foundation of the pyramid, it shows how our soul is affected by the iniquity of the fathers which is with whom the Lord was angry in Zechariah 1:2. 0 = 1 Self 0-0 = 2 Parents 0-0-0-0 = 4 Grandparents 0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0 = 8 Great-grandparents 0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0 = 16 Great-great-grandparents. Exodus 20:5-6 “You shall not bow down to them nor serve (worship) them (idols). For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me (idolatry is seen by God as hatred towards Him), but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.” We are living in the age of grace, and the church has been established on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets, with our Lord Jesus Christ as the Chief Cornerstone. The time for our redemption is now, for our sin debt that we owed God has been fully paid for by our Savior on the cross. As the Lord spoke during Zechariah’s day, that if we return to Him He will return to us. We are living in the days right now when those that call upon the name of the Lord will be saved. But remember also that with our salvation comes deliverance from the forces of darkness that kept us bound. It is the apostolic anointing that terrifies the devil, for through its revelation we become empowered. Remember the words of Jesus, You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free! Yes, we are living in the days of the white horse, the antichrist, for there are many out there striving to deceive those of us who are the children of light. Yes, we are living in the days of the red horse, the days of war and terror as our Lord predicted. Yes there is a global economy being forged right now that is paving the way for a one world government, the black horse that will control all commerce and all of its financial transactions. The pale horse whose rider is death, followed closely by Hades, soon will be given power to bring war over one fourth of the earth. This is the conflict that will usher in the rapture of the church; let’s be ready for it. Zechariah 2:10/13 “Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! Top of Page DEEP AND SECRET THINGS Daniel 2:22 “He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness (that which is hidden), and light (understanding) dwells (originates) with Him.” Daniel, along with the many wise men of Babylon were being rounded up by the king’s soldiers in order to be put to death. Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, had a very disturbing dream, so he called on his wise men to tell him the interpretation of his dream. But for some reason the king doubted the reliability of his wise men, so he added a caveat to his request: If you can tell me what I dreamed, then I’ll know that your interpretation can be trusted. Daniel 2:5-6 “The king answered and said to the Chaldeans (his inner circle of wise men), ‘My decision is firm: if you do not make known the dream to me, and its interpretation, you shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made an ash heap. However, if you tell the dream and its interpretation, you shall receive from me gifts, rewards, and great honor. Therefore tell me the dream and its interpretation.’” You can hear the desperation in their voices as they tell the king that what he is requesting of them is impossible for any man to produce. Daniel 2:10-11 “The Chaldeans answered the king and said, ‘There is not a man on earth who can tell the king’s matter; therefore no king, lord, or ruler has ever asked such things of any magician, astrologer, or Chaldean. It is a difficult thing that the king requests, and there is no other who can tell it to the king except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.’” The king would not take no for an answer, so he began to round up his so-called wise men and the executions began. Daniel 2:13 “So the decree went out, and they began killing the wise men; and they sought Daniel and his companions, to kill them.” There was a certain criteria, that if met, would qualify a person to be designated as a wise men. They had to be of a good lineage, educated, wise, trainable, healthy, gifted, and good-looking. Daniel 1:3-4 “Then the king instructed Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs, to bring some of the children of Israel and some of the king’s descendants and some of the nobles, young men in whom there was no blemish, but good-looking, gifted in all wisdom, possessing knowledge and quick to understand, who had ability to serve in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the language and literature of the Chaldeans.” When Israel was conquered and the Israelites were taken into captivity as slaves, some of the young captives were set apart under this category, which included Daniel and his companions. So when the decree was given to kill all the wise men, they started with the least of them, those on the bottom of the list of those they qualified as wise men, in the hope that those on the top of the list of wise men, the Chaldeans, would get the message that the king was serious. Now Daniel was not privy to what had taken place in the king’s court, so when they came to kill him, he wisely asked the reason why they were going to kill him and why it was so urgent a matter. Daniel 2:14-15 “Then with counsel and wisdom Daniel answered Arioch, the captain of the king’s guard, who had gone out to kill the wise men of Babylon; he answered and said to Arioch the king’s captain, ‘Why is the decree from the king so urgent?’ Then Arioch made the decision known to Daniel” Once Daniel became informed, he went before the king, asked for time, and told his companions to pray and to ask for God’s mercies, so that they would not have to perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. Daniel 2:19 “Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. So Daniel blessed the God of heaven.” As we read this story, our natural tendency is to place our focus on the secret that was revealed to Daniel, in regards to the revelation of what the king had dreamed. But if we take a closer look, the secret that was revealed to Daniel involved a lot more than what the king’s dream was. How do I know? Daniel’s blessing of the God of heaven reveals that. Daniel 2:20 “Daniel answered and said: ‘Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His.’” In our present-day way of thinking, we do not put much stock to the meaning or value of a name. But throughout much of history, everything about a person hinged on the reputation attached to his or her name. Perhaps the closer that we can come today in regards to the value of a name, is if we see it as a password that allows us access to great and unknown mysteries. So it is no wonder that the first thing that Daniel blesses and gives thanks for is the name of God, which is what allowed him access to God to begin with. John 16:24 “Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” The most important thing that Jesus has given to us is His name. For it is the name of Jesus that grants us access to the heavenly court. Since the name of God reveals His nature, the first two qualities of the name of God revealed to Daniel is that God is all knowing and that He is all powerful: Wisdom and might are His. Since God knows everything, He knew what the king’s dream was, since it was God who gave him the dream to begin with; and He had no problem revealing to Daniel. But Daniel’s blessing of the name of God goes much farther than just knowing about the dream of a king who had trouble sleeping. Daniel learned a lot more in his night vision that meets the eye. Daniel 2:21 “And He changes the times and seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.” The second part of the revelation to Daniel was that, the God who knows everything is willing to give wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. And in order for us to receive the wisdom and the knowledge that comes from God, it requires that we have a basic understanding of how He changes the times and seasons, and how God is in complete control of their outcome. It is through our understanding of the times and seasons that He reveals the deep and secret things to us, as in our opening text, for He knows what is in the darkness and light dwells with Him. Everything that is going on in the world right now is a direct result of the times and seasons that our Lord has set in motion from the foundation of the world. Nothing that is happening is happening out of chance, be it personal, corporal, or natural. If we want to understand the times that we are living in, we need to understand the timing of God’s seasons and cycles. According to Daniel, one of the ways that we can observe the changing of the cycles is through the process of the raising and the removing of kings and their kingdoms. The dream itself revealed as much, to where we can follow Daniel’s interpretation of the dream to our very present day. Daniel 2:43 “As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they (demonic entities) will mingle with the seed of men (the human race); but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay.” We are living in the midst of the greatest demonic infusion into our earthly realm since the days of Noah, when the Lord had to destroy every thing that had the breath of life in it. The sin of rebellion—which is as the sin of witchcraft—opens the doors to these abominable creatures to enter into our physical realm. The nations of the world have already decided that which is sin, according to the Bible, is acceptable and normal behavior to them. This world-wide rebellion against the precepts of the Word of God is what allows they, these demonic entities, to mingle with the seed of men. 2 Peter 2:4-6, 9-10 “For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly...then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment, and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority…” We have presently come full cycle to the past judgments and it is our turn now. These deep and secret things have been revealed to those of us who seek for the wisdom and understanding that comes from God and His Word. It is time for us to put our houses in order, for the days of the end are much nearer than we think, let us be wise in the wisdom of God. Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; For the day of the Lord is coming, for it is at hand.” What is the Day of the Lord? According to Revelation 11:18 it is the Day of God’s wrath! When God will judge both the living and the dead, and God will reward the prophets and the saints. Revelation 11:18 “The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, and those who fear Your name, small and great, and should destroy those who destroy the earth (with the spiritual corruption of their lying wonders and all forms of delusion).” Isaiah 34:8 “For it is the day of the Lord’s vengeance, the year of recompense (wrath) for the cause of Zion.” Italics, in brackets, and in bold added by me for emphasis. It is my belief that the Day of the Lord will begin as a response to the nation of Israel being invaded by a confederacy of nations whose leader originates from the north of Israel. God will not be reacting to the actions of these nations but rather will induce these nations to act on His behalf in order for Him to judge them on His Holy Land at God’s appointed time. Ezekiel 38:1-6 “Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying, Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him, and say, thus says the Lord God: Behold I am against you, O Gog the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal. I will turn you around, put hooks into your jaws, and lead you out, with all your army, horses, and horsemen, all splendidly clothed, a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords. Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya are with them, all of them with shield and helmet; Gomer and all its troops; the house of Togarmah from the far north and all its troops—many people are with you.” A comprehensive list is given of all of the participants in the above verses, who will all be compelled to participate in this invasion of the nation of Israel. Why is God initiating all of this? Ezekiel 38:16 “You will come up against My people Israel like a cloud, to cover the land. It will be in the latter days that I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me, when I am hallowed in you, O Gog, before their eyes.” The God of Israel is going to manifest Himself to the entire world as the All Mighty God when He annihilates in an instant all these nations that set themselves against the nation of Israel. Top of Page THE POWER WITHIN Ephesians 3:20 “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” The difference between religion and Christianity, is that religion fills the head with knowledge, while true Christianity fills the believer’s heart with power from God. Remember how Jesus told His disciples after they had been with Him for over three years of indoctrination into the principles of Christianity, that they needed to go to Jerusalem and wait there to be endued with power from above. Acts 1:4-5, 8 “And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, ‘which ,’ He said, ‘you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now...But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you… ’” In religion, the power that enables the believer to carry out the doctrinal duties that his religion requires of him, is derived from the commitment of such believer to the doctrines that he has been taught. His fervor for what he believes and has been taught, is what drives his motives to attain what is required of him, but he himself provides the power. In Christianity, we have doctrines, and they require fervor, but the power to attain what is required of its believers is provided by God Himself. Now why is that? Ephesians 3:19 “To know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Is a matter of love and hate! If the human nature had good in it, then a good doctrine would incite that good nature to do the righteous requirements of the Christian doctrine. But the Bible declares that there is no one, no not one, that does good. So, to entrust a good doctrine upon those who are incapable to live up to its godly requirements would be folly. Romans 3:10 “As it is written: ‘There is none righteous, no, not one.’” Now in religion that is not a problem, if those who practice such religion are in it for self-gain. Whether it is to lord it over others, or to gain profit from its practice, or just simply to make the claim that they are better than others because of the accomplishments that they themselves are able to achieve through their religious convictions. 1 Corinthians 15:19 “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable.” True Christianity is rooted in unconditional love, that is why true Christianity cannot be exercised by self-generated power. Those who try to live up to the requirements of Christian doctrine by their own power are destined to fail, for it is an impossibility. The only way to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge is by being filled with all the fullness of God. When we become born again Christians, the Lord provides us with His Spirit, He fills us with Him, so that we can fulfill the law of Christ which is rooted and grounded in His love. Ephesians 3:17 “That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love.” So that we can fulfill the requirements of the Christian doctrine. Galatians 6:2 “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” But we have to believe that it is the Spirit of God who empowers us from within to fulfill that which is required of us. Now there are questions as to when we are filled with the power of God’s Spirit, and as to what the difference is, if any, about the baptism of the Holy Spirit. I want to shed light on these questions in this lesson. The first thing that we need to be aware of is that during the ministry of Jesus, the believers had not yet received the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. For the Holy Spirit could not come until after Jesus left. John 7:38-39 “‘He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water’. But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.” Jesus told His disciples that He was going to Jerusalem to die for men’s sins, and then He told them that He would not leave them comfortless, but that they should wait for the Promise of the Father, that is to be filled with the Spirit and with power. Now since Jesus has already been glorified, all those of us who believe in Jesus and become born again, are immediately filled with God’s Holy Spirit and power. 1 Corinthians 12:13 “For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.” One cannot be a true Christian unless he/she is born of the One Spirit and made part of the body of Jesus Christ. Ephesians 1:19 “And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.” It is very clear then, that within all the born-again believers resides the power of God in essence form: according to the power that works in us, but notice how our opening text words it, the power that works in us. Works implies that a progression is taking place, as in a work in progress, as I wrote in my last lesson on the deliverance page, the renewing of the Holy Spirit goes from essence to presence, to power, but it is always according to the power that works in us, because of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit through our born-again experience. What is the working of the Spirit trying to accomplish in us? It is working to transform us from the old nature of hate into the new nature of love. Even though His power will always be present in us who have been born of His Spirit in essence form, His presence in us will not always be evident, much less His power, if we are not fulfilling the law of Christ. Galatians 5:16, 25 “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh...If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” Here we see then that it is possible to have the Spirit of God in us, and not be walking according to the Spirit. How do we fail to walk in the Spirit of God? When we fail to walk by faith and to abide in love! That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love. Love is the manifestation of the presence of Jesus in us, and faith enables His power to be manifested in us and through us. That is why we are commanded to be filled with the full manifestation of His Spirit. Ephesians 5:18 “And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit.” Dissipation means to break up into different parts, if we walk to fulfill the lust of the flesh instead of walking after the Spirit, we separate the essence of the power that works within us, by preventing the love of God from manifesting itself, thereby disqualifying the power of faith. What about the baptism of the Holy Spirit through the laying on of hands? 1 Timothy 4:14 “Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership.” Since all born again believers have the essence of the Spirit within them, all are qualified to receive the anointing power, as long as they continue to walk by the power of faith and in the Spirit of love. We need to recognize also that there are diverse gifts that come with the essence of the Spirit within us, once we become born again, and those gifts are available to those who believe. These gifts are activated by words of prophecy and by the laying on of the hands of the eldership, those who are spiritually mature in Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:1, 31 “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant...But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.” Paul tells us that there are gifts that are available to all believers, he does not want us to be ignorant, or to ignore them, and he wants us to desire the best gifts that are available to us, but then he adds this: And yet I show you a more excellent way. 1 Corinthians 13:1 “...But have not love…” The essence of love is the manifestation of His presence, if we abide in total unconditional love, then everything that we are or have belongs to Him. It does not matter what gift we have as long as is the one that He wants us to have. For by faith we believe that whatever gift He gives us will be the best for us to glorify His holy name.
