Top of Page THE BEWITCHING HOUR Galatians 3:1 “O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified.” Deception has to be the worse pit of all to fall in for those of us who are alive. Think of it, if we are being deceived we wouldn’t know it, for if we did, it would not be called deception. Here Paul uses the word bewitched to inform the Galatians that they have been deceived and that they do not know it. Another way to think about it is by looking at people who are hypnotized and make fools of themselves in front of others, and after they are brought out of their hypnotic trance they are not even aware of the foolishness that they committed while under the hypnotic spell. Proverbs 21:20 “There is desirable treasure, and oil (anointing) in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish man squanders it.” The worst part is that once a believer falls under bewitchment, he/she squanders the anointing that God has given them for true discernment. How did the Galatians church turn from being a Spirit filled church into a deceived and bewitched fellowship? Galatians 3:2 “This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?” Paul does not mess around, he goes right after the heart of the issue, and asks them the question of how they received their spiritual anointing originally, for after all that was what they had squandered away. How do we know whether we are being deceived or not? The anointing tells us! If the anointing is present within us, we have nothing to fear, for it is the anointing that always reveals God’s truth which is the antidote for deception. But if the anointing is lacking, then we should know that there is a problem that needs to be dealt with. By definition bewitching means that there is a problem that is present, and for some unexplained reason, nobody can or seems to be able to do anything about it, they just keep putting up with it. The door for a bewitching spirit is opened when an individual or a congregation compromises the Truth of the Word of God! Matthew 7:26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish (one who squanders the anointing) man who built his house on the sand.” In the case of the Galatians church, they started with a great anointing that was brought about by Paul’s preaching to them about God’s grace, as he clearly portrayed to them Jesus Christ crucified for their sins. Then some Jews who wanted all the Gentile believers to be converted to Judaism and follow the law of Moses, preached to the Galatians a different gospel than what Paul had preached to them, a gospel of legalism to which they were now trying to conform. Galatians 3:3 “Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? (the works of the law)” This does not mean that we do not try to live up to the righteous standards of the perfect Law of God, for this is what Scripture says about that: 1 Peter 1:16 “Because it is written, ‘Be holy, for I am holy.’” What was at issue here was how does one attain to the righteousness of God, is it through the works of fulfilling the requirements of the Law or by simple faith in the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead? Galatians 3:5 “Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you (for the anointing that works miracles) and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?” It should have been obvious to all the Jewish believers that the law of Moses never made anyone perfect, on the contrary the law convicted them of sin, so that when Jesus preached to them that salvation is a gift from God that cannot be earned or merited, the true Gospel was revealed to them as it had been prophesied in the Old Testament to them: Galatians 3:11 “But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for the just shall live by faith.” Habakkuk 2:4 “Behold the proud (legalist), his soul in not upright with him; but the just shall live by his faith.” So that the legalism of the day was become a Jewish convert, and we will not persecute you, and that was what got the Galatians into trouble with the apostle Paul, and the reason why the anointing had left them. Galatians 5:11 “And I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why do I still suffer persecution? Then the offense of the cross has ceased.” The offense of the cross to the legalists was that now righteousness before God could be attained by simple faith in the work of salvation that Jesus accomplished for us in the cross. I know that this can be a little confusing to some people, so let me try to explain it in another way. What does it profit a Christian to try to live up to the commandments of God? Let us look at the commandment that says do not steal. If you are a Christian all your sins are forgiven you, but if you steal while a Christian, will the law of the land forgive you also for being a believer? No, you get caught stealing and you ask the Lord to forgive you, He will forgive you according to 1 John 1:9, but you are still going to have to do the time for breaking the laws of man. So that as a Christian if you steal, you will not only lose your freedom, but you will lose your testimony as well. The same can be said about committing adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lying, dishonoring your parents, or whatever other commandments there may be, there are always consequences for breaking God’s Law. Being honest, faithful, trustworthy, responsible and law abiding can get you far in this world with the law and with others, but not with God as far as your salvation is concern. People who abide by the basic principles of the law will fair much better in this world than those who are the law breakers. But if you want God to save you on the merits of your legal standing within God’s Law, you are in deep trouble. Galatians 3:10 “For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.’” What does that mean? Psalm 19:7 “The law of the Lord is perfect…” The Law of the Lord is perfect, and we are not! So that if we wanted to be made perfect before God on the merits of keeping His Law for the purpose of salvation, we would have to keep all of them, all the time. And that is very much impossible since we are all born sinners before we even get old enough to have a chance to do good or bad. That is why the conception of Jesus was not the work of man, but He was conceived by the Spirit of the Living God in the womb of the virgin. Galatians 4:4-5 “But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law (to fulfill the Law in order that He may), to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.” Galatians 3:22 “But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.” 1 Peter 1:23 “Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever.” Now here is a final truth that will keep you from becoming bewitched. THE WRATH OF ELIHU Written by Pastor Marcos Marrero Published on 9.2.24 Top of Page Job 32:2 “Then the wrath of Elihu, the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, was aroused against Job; his wrath was aroused because he justified himself rather than God.” Elihu was a man that lived in the days of Job, and as we will see, he is also the embodiment of the spirit of self-righteousness. Elihu the man admits that there is a spirit within him driving him. Job 32:18 “For I am full of words; the spirit within me compels me.” The anger that Elihu exhibited against Job was kindled by the fact that Job held fast to his confession of righteousness that he received from God, instead of rather than God as he was accused. And as we well know the spirit of self-righteousness hates competition. Job 27:6 “My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go. My heart shall not reproach me as long as I live.” For a while now Job had to endure the accusations of three of his friends, who prompted Job to confess to sins that he had not committed. How could a man so clearly judged by God they figure, not be guilty of such horrible secret sins so that he should confess and repent of them? Elihu, who was younger than Job’s other three friends had to keep his mouth closed and did not get a chance to go mano a mano with Job, so he was enraged at the fact that Job’s friends were not able to break Job’s convictions of having God’s righteousness in his life. What can we learn from this story that will help us overcome this spirit of self-righteousness and self-condemnation when he comes against us? Job 31:40 “…The words of Job are ended.” Job did not know why God had allowed such terrible tragedies to come his way, but he knew that he was not holding on to secret sins that would hinder his relationship with God. Listen to what Job said about his relationship with God in the midst of his many trials: Job 23:11-12 “My foot has held fast to His steps; I have kept His way and not turned aside. I have not departed from the commandment of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.” The thing that enraged the spirit driving Elihu the most was the steadfastness of Job in his relationship with God in the face of such relentless demonic accusations. Job was a sinner, that is, like all of us who fall short of the glory of God. The key issue here is that once we enter into a relationship with God by trusting in God’s Word… it is done! Job held fast to his righteousness in the grace of God despite of his circumstances. So, what have we learned? We know that once we settle the issue of our salvation, which is by the grace of God which makes us righteous by washing us in the blood of Jesus, we silence the accusers; but then now we must deal with the wrath of Elihu which is the spirit of self-righteousness and the Antichrist himself. Read what Elihu says about himself: that he is a created entity who is perfect in knowledge, referring to Lucifer who had that position in heaven and lost it after he sinned. Job 33:6 “Truly I am [Elihu speaking] as your spokesman before God [he is more like the accuser]; I also have been formed out of clay.” In brackets added by me for emphasis. Job 36:4 “For truly my words are not false; One who is perfect in knowledge is with you.” When the Lord appears in the whirlwind and confronts Elihu as He was speaking to Job, this is what God said to him. Job 38:2 “Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge?” An attack against us by a spirit of self-righteousness is a spirit of condemnation that rises against those who like Job, have made up their minds not to listen to the words of the accuser of the brethren, and decide to walk by faith and not by sight. How do we know when we are contending with the spirit of the wrath of Elihu? This spirit demands perfection that leads to pride, the pride of life. It is a spirit who claims to be all knowledgeable making him a lying spirit who claims to speak for God. That is the spirit of Antichrist itself, for only God the trinity is all knowing! 1 John 4:1-4 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of Antichrist, which you have heard is coming, and is now already in the world. You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” This antichrist spirit demands Jesus plus! Jesus and our own self-righteousness. Which is a recipe for failure, since pride goes before the fall, and after we fail, he comes and accuses us with a load of guilt, shame and condemnation in order to steal the joy of our salvation. Through the All-Sufficient Jesus Christ In Us we have received many wonderful gifts, including a salvation that cannot be taken away, for it is a gift from God and God’s gifts are irrevocable. For we have been washed by the blood of the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world and He has imputed to us His own righteousness to the glory of God the Father. Romans 11:29 “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” 1 John 3:8-9 “He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed (Christ’s righteousness) remains in him and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.” In case you are wondering, there are two different kinds of sin within the context, and if we do not know the difference, we can get confused. The sin that leads to death is the failure of a person to receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, if we are not born-again, that is born of the Spirit of God, we are still in our sins and spiritually dead and separated from God’s Holy Spirit. 1 John 5:16 “If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin which does not lead to death, he will ask, and He will give him life for those who commit sin not leading to death. There is sin leading to death. I do not say that he should pray about that.” For those of us who have been born-again, born of the Spirit of God, our spirit-man cannot sin, for it is seated in heaven next to Jesus, who is seated next to the Father forever making intercession for us. We walk by faith and not by sight. 1 Peter 1:9 “Receiving the end (goal) of your faith—the salvation of our souls.” 1 John 1:8 “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” Here he is talking about the sin that does not lead to death which resides in our soul, our self-life. As born-again believers, every time our soul sins, we have not only the privilege but the obligation of confessing our sins, in order to receive God’s cleansing and be partakers of His many blessings. Ephesians 2:4-6 “But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” Parenthesis are in the original text After we are born-again unconfessed sins can keep us from walking in God’s favor. But our spirit-man does not sin, for it is seated with Jesus in heaven and cannot be touch by the enemy. 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” The only option left to this prideful spirit of Elihu, after we take our stand in the righteousness that comes from faith after being washed in the blood of Jesus, is to try to keep us from becoming partakers of the many blessings that God has for us as believers of His promises. Receiving the end (goal) of your faith—the salvation of our souls. How do we do that? Our soul needs to know that it is loved by God despite its many failures: The soul of a born-again believer is accepted in the Beloved of God, just as it is! God’s love, acceptance and compassion will bring joy and peace to the soul of the person who is born-again and repents with godly sorrow. Our soul needs to understand the work patience, true faith endures long and does not give up its desire for the spiritual purity it lacks. It holds fast to the righteousness that comes from faith in the spirit of meekness, and desires to be clothed in the virtue of self-control. House of Faith Ministries (HoFM) presents a teaching on Genesis 3:15 “...He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.” Top of Page THE PROMISED PROGENY Genesis 3:15 “...He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.” There were only two humans on planet earth when the Lord first gave the promise that a redeeming Messiah would come through the seed of the woman, and the promise was given while they were still in the Garden of Eden, for it wasn’t until after they were driven out of the Garden that Adam knew Eve, and she conceived. And is interesting to note that the promise was first issued to the serpent in the form of a death warrant that proclaimed that a crushing blow to his head, from the seed of the woman, would be his punishment for leading Adam and Eve in a rebellion against the will of God. Even though the promise had great implications for the human race, for it implied that from the seed of the woman the redemption would come that would deliver us from the consequences of Adam and Eve’s transgression, but from the serpent’s point of view it foretold his own demise for deceiving Adam and Eve and causing them to fall. What that means is that the devil fears the fulfillment of the promise more, than the desire of us humans is, to see it come to pass, for he has everything to lose in its fulfillment. Since we humans have everything to gain through its fulfillment, we do not experience the desperation that the devil feels when reminded of the promise. So that while humanity, the descendants of Adam and Eve, inherited a casual attitude towards the promise of a deliverer, the devil himself became obsessed by it, for he knew that in the fulfillment of the promise, his eternal doom was sealed forever and ever. The reason why this is a very important subject for us to know today, is because if we know what the number one priority of the devil is, which is to try to stop the promise that God gave from coming to pass, then we can prepare ourselves against the deceptions that he will hurdle against us concerning the fulfillment of the promised Messiah. Mark 13:22-23 “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. But take heed; see, I have told you all things before hand.” Biblical history is full of the devil’s attempt to keep the Messianic promise from coming to pass. Since the devil does not know the future, he puts his focus on those with whom God entered into a covenant. Since the promise named the seed of the woman as the inheritor, the devil perverted the very first seed of the woman, Cain; and got him to kill the second seed of the woman, Abel; thereby taking them both out, for he did not think that God would use a murderer as the Messiah. And what is interesting about this is that in biblical history many of those who assumed a role as God’s deliverers, ended up somewhere along the line, killing other people themselves. Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Samson, David, Paul, to name a few, so that we can see the devil’s pattern against the promise repeating itself over and over again. Then the devil preceded to pervert humanity through demonic infestation to the point that God had to destroy the human race during the days of Noah, where only eight humans survived. The devil promptly corrupted Noah’s genes after the flood, so that he could not personally produce godly seed anymore, by a deed done to him by his son Ham, which re-introduced the curse after the flood upon humanity while at the same time taking Noah and Ham out of the line, that left just two sons of Noah to continue the seed line. As you know, Shem’s seed was selected to continue the Messianic line, which led to his posterity, the Semitic people, out of whom God selected Abraham and entered into a covenant with him and his seed, the nation of Israel. The devil then tried to kill the Messiah when He was born and came to the earth for the first time as the Seed of the woman. Matthew 2:16 “Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men.” An angel of the Lord warned Joseph to take the Child and flee to Egypt away from the jurisdiction of Herod, and was told not to return with the Child until after Herod’s death. By the time that the devil found out that Jesus was the Messiah, the Seed of the woman, it was too late for him to stop His ministry. Because by the time that the devil finally got his human cohorts to kill Jesus, the foundation of the deliverance of mankind from their sins according to the promise, had been laid, in line with the pronouncement of Jesus, when He said, that He would build His church and the gates of hell would not prevail against it. On the cross, the crushing blow was delivered that sealed the fate of Satan and all his demons, for it was on the cross that the love of God towards His human creatures was fully revealed, God’s redemptive power could not be stopped, for there God kept the first part of His two-fold promise. After God chose Abraham and entered into a covenant with him, the covenant was a two-fold covenant; God promised Abraham that his seed would be as the sand of the seashore and as the stars in the sky. The first part of the covenant was a physical covenant represented by the sand of the seashore, and the second part of the covenant was a spiritual covenant represented by the stars in the sky. To the nation of Israel, the physical descendants of Abraham, were given the physical land of the Middle East as an eternal possession. Biblical as well as secular history details the struggles of the Jewish nation for over three thousand years, in and out of the land of promise, as freemen and as slaves in their own nation as well as outside of it. I’m just one generation away, since I was born in 1947, from the slaughter of six million Jews, who were systematically exterminated by a demonic Nazi regime whose leadership was hell bent in trying to keep those who are destined by God to inherit God’s physical promise from being alive to fulfill it. But just like when they killed Jesus on the cross it only aided in bringing about the fulfillment of God’s eternal promises. Even today, the devil is hard at work producing weapons of mass destruction and enough human entities to bring about his final solution against the Jewish people, which is their total annihilation in order to keep God from completing His first part of the covenant. Many reasoning politicians do not believe that Iran or any other hate filled nation would ever really endeavor to destroy the Jewish people and the nation of Israel as they continuously proclaim they want to do. They do not know the history of hate, and they surely do not know the history of the devil. That is why I am writing this historical perspective, no reasoning politician back then believed that Hitler could or would commit the atrocities that they so fervently, ruthlessly, and efficiently committed. You cannot take the desperation of the devil or the power of hatred out of the equation. The first decade of the new millennium has seen the rise of an unprecedented and alarming level of hatred, among civil people, against Jews and Christians as prophesied for the end times. Matthew 24:8-9 “All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.” By bringing Israel back to the Promised Land in this end of times, God has partially fulfilled His promise to them, He will complete the promise after He destroys all of Israel’s enemies and sets His kingdom age in their midst and rules the nations with an iron rod for one thousand years. Which brings us to the second part of the covenant, the spiritual covenant which is represented by the church. This part of the promise has also partially been fulfilled, for the penalty for the sin of Adam and Eve was the death of the human race, but Jesus took care of that on the day when He rose from the grave, when all the powers of hell could not keep Him in that grave no matter how hard they tried. John 11:26 “And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” Until the promise is completed and we are fitted with our new eternal physical bodies, our physical bodies can still be killed, but we really do not die, for His promise to us is that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Matthew 10:28 “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” So just like the Jews who do not inherit the totality of the Promise Land until after all their enemies are destroyed and Messiah resides in their midst as King of kings and Lord of lords, we Christians do not receive our immortal bodies until our mortal enemy, death, is finally destroyed. 1 Corinthians 15:54-55 “So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: ‘Death is swallowed up in victory. O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?’” Though the promise might be two-fold its still one promise, so that if the devil can stop any part of the promise from being fulfilled, he believes that he can stop the will of God for him which is his eternal damnation. Of course, we know better, for we are the heirs of the good promise of God, His promised redemption. But since the devil has already lost, he is going down with the ship and aims at taking as many fools along with him as he can. Psalm 56:13 “For You have delivered my soul from death. Have You not kept my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?” If we look carefully at the present day isolation of the nation of Israel, and come to realize that basic Christian principals have been rejected at all levels of society, and that Bible believing Christians are continuously targeted for ridicule and rejection, and I’m just talking about the nations of the west, for last year the number of Christian martyr’s double in the nations that for the most part never embraced Christianity. There is no other conclusion but that the devil is getting ready to strike with his vicious fury those who are the heirs of God’s promises in ways that have not been recently seen, and in places that have not seen such tribulations before, like here in the US. We cannot stop that which is inevitable, Jesus told us that while in this world we would have tribulations, but it helps if we know where they are coming from and why. It also helps if we keep our eyes on the final outcome. Psalm 7:14-17 “Behold, the wicked brings forth iniquity; yes, he conceives trouble and brings forth falsehood. He made a pit and dug it out, and has fallen into the ditch which he made. His trouble shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down on his own crown. Top of Page Top of Page PROPHECY BY NUMBERS Written by Pastor Marcos Marrero Published 12/5/21 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it.” We are told in the letter to the Hebrews 7:25 that Jesus saves us to the uttermost; that is that our spirit, soul and body will all be gathered up together at His soon return. There is a spiritual principle at work here that if we understand it, will reveal to us how everything in life follows a carefully numbered and prescribed prophetic pattern. For example: the human spirit is saved instantly at the moment of the new birth, during what is commonly known as the born-again experience. After responding to the conviction of the Holy Spirit and accepting Jesus as our Savior and Lord, our spirit-man is instantly made alive to God—been previously dead or separated from God, for in sin we were conceived—during the new birth experience our spirit-man is immediately transported into the very presence of God’s throne to wait for the completion of the salvation of the soul and of the body. That is why there is joy in the presence of the angels of God in heaven over one sinner who repents. Luke 15:10 Ephesians 2:6 “And raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” This already happened to the spirit of all who have accepted Jesus as their Savior and Lord. Our spirit-man was raised and sitted with Jesus at the moment of our salvation. 1 John 3:9 “Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed (Jesus’ spiritual down payment) remains in him (the sinner who repents) ; and he (the spirit of the person who repented) cannot sin, because he has been born of God.” Italics added for emphasis. The born-again experience can only be applied to our spirit-man who at the moment of our salvation is taken up to the heavenly places and made to sit with Christ Jesus where he—our spirit-man—who has been born of God does not sin. 1 Peter 1:9 “Receiving the END (goal) of your faith—the salvation of your souls.” On the other hand, the goal of our faith is the salvation of our soul or personality, which is a life-long process which ends at the time of our death, when our soul must appear before the judgment seat of Christ to give an account for the things that we did after our salvation be it good or bad. 2 Corinthians 5:10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that EACH ONE MAY RECEIVE (a reward or lack of it) the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” Italics added for emphasis. So that while we are here on this earth we still have to fight the battle between good and evil. 1 John 1:8 “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” JUSTIFICATION then is for the spirit-man and can only be received by faith in the blood of Jesus and by trust in the grace of God. Romans 3:24-25 “Being JUSTIFIED freely by HIS GRACE through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by HIS BLOOD, through FAITH…” SANCTIFICATION is for the human soul and it is attained by daily obedience to the truthfulness of the Word of God. John 17:17 “SANCTIFY them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” GLORIFICATION which is the transformation of the physical body that goes from glory to glory here on earth until it dies and then waits for that blessed hope, at the return of Jesus Christ to the earth, when it is resurrected a glorified body that will never die: saved to the uttermost. 1 Corinthians 15:54-55 “So when this corruptible has put incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: ‘Death is swallowed up in victory.’ ‘O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?’ ” Proverbs 30:21 “For THREE things the earth is perturbed, yes, for FOUR it cannot bear up.” In this proverb the Lord reveals to us a powerful spiritual principle that applies to the inner workings of prophecy itself. Revelation 19:10 “…For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” As I study the Scriptures I find that there are always three spirits at work in whatever situation we are looking at, and the matter is completed when the forth spiritual force comes into play. The testimony of Jesus always completes what the Bible refers to as the four winds. Ezekiel 37:9 “Also He said to me, ‘Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath’, ‘Thus says the Lord God: Come from the FOUR WINDS, O breath, and breathe on these slain that they may live.’ ” We see the progression of the four winds played out in the foundational doctrine of salvation: The process of Justification, Sanctification and Glorification which can only be completed when Jesus returns to the earth and sets up His kingdom here on earth. Jesus Himself being the fourth which the earth cannot bear up, that is why Armageddon takes place before His kingdom begins. Zechariah 6:1, 5 “Then I turned and raised my eyes and looked, and behold, FOUR chariots were coming from between two mountains, and the mountains were mountains of bronze…And the angel answered and said to me, ‘These are FOUR spirits of heaven, who go out from their station before the Lord of all the earth.” The FOUR winds of heaven are FOUR spirits that sometimes are portrayed as chariots that are led by different color horses, or as riders riding on the different colored horses themselves. Revelation 6:1 “Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the FOUR living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, ‘Come and see.’ ” The first FOUR seals of Revelation chapter six follow the same pattern of three winds or spirits fomenting a matter and then followed by a forth, which when it is introduced it brings to a full completion the matter that it is dealing with. 2 Corinthians 4:18 “While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” For clarification purposes we need to understand how this principle of things which are seen and not seen works. Everything that is seen falls under the law of entropy; eventually all things that are visible will come to an unavoidable end and thereby accomplish an unseen or spiritual purpose for-ordained by God who sends the four winds to begin with. Revelation 1:2 “Who bore WITNESS (testified) to the WORD OF GOD, and to the TESTIMONY of JESUS CHRIST, to all things that he saw.” As we read the Bible we will find that when describing those things which are seen or visible God uses a lineal formula: He created everything in six days and then rested in the seventh. We see that in the physical TESTIMONY of JESUS CHRIST in the letters to the SEVEN churches; The sixth letter to the sixth church completes the purpose—He opened a door of escape—for the church age, while the seventh church is left behind not part of His work of grace any more. While describing those things which are invisible or spiritual, God uses the three plus one formula revealed to us in Proverbs 30:21 . The TESTIMONY of the WORD OF GOD to the seven churches is a spiritual testimony, so that the four horsemen revealed at the opening of the first four seals completes the church age. While the last three seals deals with the consequences. The fifth seal deals with the martyr’s from the beginning of the church age who must wait for the number of their fellow servants and their brethren to be killed as they were—when that number is reached the fourth seal will be released. The sixth seal describes the rapture as Jesus returns in the clouds. Remember how the FOUR chariots were coming from between two mountains made of bronze? I believe bronze here symbolizes the martyr’s who had to die during their trials by fire. The sixth seal completes the beginning and the end of the age of God’s grace, which is bookmarked by the blood of the martyr’s. What a beautiful end to God’s glorious church! The seventh seal introduces a new era, in this case the beginning of God’s Wrath upon all those who rejected the salvation offered to the entire world during the age of God’s Grace. That means that we are eagerly awaiting the introduction of the fourth seal to usher in the completion of God’s Age of Grace. Luke 21:8-11 “And He said: Take heed that you not be DECEIVED. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’ Therefore do not go after them. But when you hear of WARS and commotions, do not be terrified: for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately. Then He said to them, nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be FEARFUL SIGHTS and great signs from heaven.” Notice how Jesus connects the opening of the first three seals in Revelation chapter six to His account in Luke: First deception /antichrist, then wars and commotions follow by fearful sights. DECEPTION comes through the spirit of antichrist who is revealed as riding on a white horse. This spirit was released when the guards who witness the angel telling them about the empty tomb were bribed to denied that Jesus had physically risen from the dead. 1 John 4:3 “And every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ HAS COME IN THE FLESH is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is NOW already in the world.” You cannot counterfeit something that does not exist. The spirit of Antichrist could not be revealed until after the real Jesus Christ rose from the dead. Matthew 28:3-6, 12-13 “His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. And the GUARDS shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. But the angel answered and said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for HE IS RISEN, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay’…When they had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers (guards), saying, ‘Tell them, His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we slept.’ ” The above Scriptures officially confirms the very moment when the spirit of antichrist was released and it was THERE already in the world during the days of John’s writings and it is still here with us today until he is given a body to possess in the middle of the Day of God’s Wrath, only to be taken captive at the end of God’s Wrath, and thrown alive into the Lake of Fire. The opening of the second seal represents WARS, I think this seal was probably released with the war that led to the destruction of Herod’s temple before the generation of Jesus’ day ended. It is the same spirit of wars that took the world into two world wars. This same spirit will be given power to make war over one fourth of the earth—the Middle East—when the fourth seal is open and the Lord will intervene on behalf of the nation of Israel. I believe that right now we are smack in the middle of the third seal, which might have been released with the introduction of the atomic age. Revelation 6:5-6 “When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, ‘Come and see.’ So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the living creatures saying, ‘A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.’ ” Bread, oil and wine are not only the basis of any economic system, but from God’s perspective they represent the wholeness and wellness of all mankind. Which this present world system wants to control and it is using these tragic events like pestilences to attain their goal. Psalm 104:15 “And wine that makes glad the heart of man, oil to make his face shine, and bread which strengthens man’s heart.” According to Luke’s Gospel after the wars and during the third seal we will experience: “And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and PESTILENCES; and there will be FEARFUL SIGHTS and great signs from heaven.” The Covid 19 virus is a pestilence. The next event that will follow the pestilence will be great and fearful sights in the sky. Luke 21:25-26 “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.” The powers that be in the world today, know the faithfulness of the Scriptures and use them to prepare themselves against what God’s plan is for the nations. That is what this third seal is all about; the world is getting ready for the one world government united against Almighty God. Psalm 2:1-3 “Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His anointed, saying, ‘Let us break Their bonds in pieces and cast away Their cords from us.’ ” Malachi 2:17 “You have wearied the Lord with your words; yet you say, ‘In what way have we wearied Him?’ In that you say, ‘Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and He delights in them,’ Or, ‘Where is the God of justice?’ ” We are living in the days of the end of the age of God’s Grace, the judgments of God are about to begin and the wicked leaders of the earth are preparing for them. What the wicked leaders of this corrupt world have in mind for the populace is Deception, Division, Corruption, and Total Control over every aspect of our daily lives. From their demonic perspective we are all expendable; the devil’s goal for all humanity is the total annihilation of the human race. For those of us who have been Justified by faith in the blood of Jesus and believe that the rapture of the church is a rescue mission for all who are alive and remain after the saints of old are raised from the dead, we will not be disappointed. For in the twinkling of an eye we will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air and thus will forever be with the Lord. Do not be left behind! Malachi 4:1-2 “For behold the day is coming, burning like an oven, and all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up, says the Lord of hosts, that will leave them neither root nor branch. But to you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves.” In order to have a one world government it is imperative to have a one world economy; and a world-wide economic system requires a world-wide monetary system. The key word here is CENTRALITY in order to be governed by one person, and for that you need a world-wide-net system of communications. And to make so many different nations and systems to willingly abandon their sovereignty you need a world-wide-crises. The antichrist spirit masks itself with the mantra of saving the planet, by saving it they mean to take it over and rule it into extinction. Revelation 13:15-17 “He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. He causes ALL, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” Everything that has been taking place around the world since this Covid 19 pestilence started is nothing more than a big rehearsal for that which is going to be introduced in the world when the FEARFUL SIGHTS appear in the sky. An entire generation of children, now grownup, has been mentally conditioned for such a time as this. As Christians, it is imperative that we teach this new— and mentally different—last generation the truthfulness and certainty of God’s Word. Jesus said that you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. Malachi 4:5-6 “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And he will turn the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.” Elijah the prophet comes to the earth after the rapture of the church as one of the Two Witnesses, to turn the hearts of the Jewish children who were left behind, to the Lord. They will seal 144,000 of them for they represent the last generation which is the 144th. God receives them as a first-fruit offering on behalf of all the children left in the world. Top of Page GETHSEMANE: THE OIL PRESS Mark 14:32 “Then they came to a place which was named Gethsemane; and He said to His disciples, ‘Sit here while I pray’” In the natural it is hard to believe that sweet clear oil can come from olives; just judging by their appearance it would be difficult for many of us to figure out that olives can produce such a great and valuable commodity if we did not know about them already. The Bible uses God’s creation in many different ways as a metaphor or in other words, God uses physical things that we naturally understand to reveal spiritual principles which are naturally difficult for us to understand, that is why Jesus used so many parables in His teachings. It would be extremely hard for, let’s say, creatures that know about the goodness and holiness of Almighty God, and who also know and are well aware of the rottenness of man, to think that in any way, shape, or form we humans are created in the image of God, but we are. And that is exactly the idea that this metaphor is trying to convey to us. Luke 1:37 “For with God nothing will be impossible.” The first thing that this metaphor teaches us is that the transition between humanity and divinity is a process, a difficult, some will say impossible process, but as the angel told Mary, God specializes in making those things which are impossible a reality. The foundational principle of this process is revealed in the reality of the life and death struggle that is found throughout the creation. Mark 14:34 “Then He said to them, ‘My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch.’” Everything in creation speaks of the struggles between life and death, beginning and ending, and the continuance of life through procreation. Spiritual procreation however, and by that I mean the human transformation that takes place from natural to spiritual, from mortality to immortality, as well as the born again experience, cannot be attained unless one dies first. We see this in the creation as well, it is called metamorphosis. John 12:24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.” This process of dying to self so that we can become alive to God can be best understood by the Gethsemane principle that Jesus taught us. Psalm 131:2 “Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with his mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.” This principle is at odds with some of what we hear taught today about Christianity, for in some instances Christian doctrine is offered as a way to get away from pressure, sort of like a refuge from reality. I kind of get the impression sometimes that what some are preaching is, Come to Jesus and all your troubles and poverty will magically disappear, and you will have no more struggles with life. But that is not what Jesus said, unfortunately those who come to Jesus on the basis of a false premise are more likely to quit and give up. John 16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” Jesus makes it very clear that the aim of the process is not to remove the tribulation, the pressure that we are under while we are in the world; but rather that we may attain His peace in the middle of the tribulation. We convert the physical pressures of this world into spiritual peace, a peace that is not of this world, and the way that we know that we can do that is because He not only did it before us, but He showed us how to do it as well. And this is how He did it: Mark 14:36 “And He said, ‘Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.’” Here is how I see it: If I know that all of my sins have been forgiven, and if I know that my daily walk with Him is one that continuously depends on His grace and mercy which are new every morning, and if I know that that is what keeps me in right standing with Him; then I know that if I am facing a difficult situation and I ask Him to remove it from me, for I much rather not drink of that cup if you will, of whatever it is that I am facing, and if He does not remove it from me, I am immediately made aware of the fact this is something that will be beneficial for me in the long run, and I must endure it. So that I do not feel like He does not love me anymore, or that He is punishing me for some old sin that He never brought up, or that I somehow fell out of His will for my life. Peace is knowing that it is well with my soul no matter what. If He removes the thorn from my flesh, I praise Him for His wonderful grace and mercy that He has shown to me, if He does not, then I praise Him for His wonderful grace and mercy that He has shown to me by letting me go through a process of purification that will make me more sensitive to His spiritual promptings. So like Jesus, in whatever situation I am facing, I let our Father know how I feel about the prospect of an undesirable tribulation that is coming my way, but then I say with a submitted and honest heart: Not my will, but Your will be done in my life. For I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I belong to Him, and that I am in His will to the best of my present abilities, and that whatever comes my way is part of the process that will one day deliver me into the joy of His presence, completed and transformed, into what He destined me to be, for He is able to do it, I just got to go along with it. 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.” Now if I am one of those who believe that Christianity is like a club med type of resort, where all my needs are tended to immediately, with no disturbances to bother me, and I say in my heart to the Lord, When is that big limousine coming over to take me to heaven Lord, for as You know Lord, next year is not going to work out for me, for I got other and more important things to do? Boy! Then I would be in for a rude awakening. Think of all the different olives that are thrown down into the pit of the olive press, is any of them treated differently than the others? I think not! They are all pressed evenly and thoroughly until the process is completed, then and only then is the flesh removed, after all the oil has been extracted, the anointing oil that breaks the yoke. Mark 14:3 “And being in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper, as He sat at the table, a woman came having an alabaster flask of very costly oil of spikenard. Then she broke the flask and poured it on His (Jesus) head.” Before Jesus headed for His encounter with Gethsemane He was anointed with a very expensive perfumed oil. Before the apostles of Jesus headed for their encounter with their destined Gethsemane, where all of them but John died as martyrs, they also were anointed with the precious oil of the Spirit that came down from heaven. Before we enter into our very own Gethsemane oil press, we are all anointed as well, for none of us can be born again unless we are first born of the Spirit of God. So that I see a pattern here. What makes the miracle of the transformation is the Oil of God in us, the anointing oil that breaks the yoke of worthlessness and makes us precious before Him. Many do not understand the function of the Oil of God, or the oil of the anointing. If you remember as the one hundred and twenty disciples were filled with the oil of the Spirit and had the oil of the anointing lid over their heads, some said of them that they were drunk, for they could not see the great significance of the event. Mark 14:4 “But there were some who were indignant among themselves, and said, ‘Why was this fragrant oil wasted?’” It was the same when Jesus was anointed by the woman, some saw nothing but a waste of a good, perfumed oil, and thereby missed the significance as well, which Jesus soon reveled to them. Mark 14:8 “She has done what she could. She has come beforehand to anoint My body for burial.” Here is the revelation of the mystery that I see: The anointing that we all crave and want to be filled of with its power, its a burial anointing, a death anointing if you will. It makes me wonder how many of us when we pray for God’s anointing power for our lives, if we really know that what we are asking for is to die the death of the cross, die to self, die to life, that He may live in us and through us without us hindering Him and His will for us. Then the Lord said to me, ‘Call his name Maher-Shal’al-Hash-Baz.’” Top of Page MAHER-SHAL’AL-HASH-BAZ Isaiah 8:3 “Then I went to the prophetess, and she conceived and bore a son. Then the Lord said to me, ‘Call his name Maher-Shal’al-Hash-Baz.’” I bet you are wandering what that name means, don’t worry is on the margin of my Bible, here what the meaning of this name is: Speed the Spoil, Hasten the Booty! There is a tremendous insight into what is going on today and what went on in the days of Isaiah concerning Israel’s disobedience to the Word of God. The key to look for here is found in the two opening verses. Isaiah 8:1-2 “Moreover the Lord said to me, ‘Take a large scroll, and write on it with a man’s pen concerning Maher-Shal’al-Hash-Baz. And I will take for Myself faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest and Zechariah the son of Jeberechi’ah.” What the Lord is doing here is taking a solemn oath, in regards to something that He is going to do here on the earth, and He commands Isaiah to get a large scroll and to write on it with a man’s pen, that is in clearly understood human language, and God even summons to Himself two witnesses that will testify, that this is what the Lord said that he was going to do, after it has come to pass just as the Lord said it would. Within the context of Isaiah’s day, it had to do with the invasion of Samaria by Assyria, now Samaria was the capital of Israel at that time when Israel was divided into two nations, Israel and Judah. Now this prophecy does not concern Judah for God will protect them at this time from the king of Assyria, but it is interesting that God includes in His prophecy the city of Damascus as well. Now why is this so important to us in our present day? 1 Corinthians 10:11 “Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.” So that God is clearly teaching us through the past examples of the saints of old, the unfolding of what we see going on today in regards to God’s prophetic words, and the surety of their fulfillment. Let us first begin with the name by which God calls the son of the prophetess on verse three: Speed the Spoil, Hasten the Booty. What prophecy has God uttered that has not yet been fulfilled, that deals with a foreign nation being drawn speedily, or suddenly, against the nation of Israel for the sake of gaining spoil and booty? Ezekiel 38:13 “Sheba, Dedan, the merchants of Tarshish, and all their young lions will say to you, ‘Have you come to take plunder? Have you gathered your army to take booty, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to take great plunder?’” This yet to be fulfilled end time prophecy refers to the Russian nation of our present day, which will lead a confederacy of nations against the nation of Israel at the end of days, and the reason why they are doing it, is very clearly laid out in our preceding verse of Scripture. In the oath that God took on Isaiah 8 : He also includes the city of Damascus, today’s Syrian capital , as spoil to be gained by them as well. Isaiah 8:4 “For before the child shall have knowledge to cry ‘My father’ and ‘My mother,’ the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria will be taken away before the king of Assyria.” Let’s see if we can put together how this ancient prophecy relates to our current geo-political situation. Here is what we know: From Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39 , we know with certainty that it will be our present day Russia the nation that will lead this invasion of Israel. Just let me give you a couple of verses for those of you who may not be aware of this declaration that God fore-ordained for our end of time. Ezekiel 38:2-4 “Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him, and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal. I will turn you around, put hooks into your jaws, and lead you out, with all your army, horses, and horsemen, all splendidly clothed, a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords.’” Just like in the days of Isaiah the prophet, when God brought the king of Assyria against the nation of Israel to fulfill His fore-ordained plan, He will do so as well during the end to days, when He will bring this Russian confederacy against the nation of Israel to fulfill His desire to reveal Himself to the nations of the world, as He delivers Israel from the hands of their many enemies as in days of old. Ezekiel 39:7-8 “So I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel, and I will not let them profane My holy name anymore. Then the nations shall know that I am the Lord, the Holy One in Israel. Surely it is coming, and it shall be done, says the Lord God. This is the day of which I have spoken.” Now in Isaiah’s prophecy God took for Himself two faithful witnesses that would declare to the nation of Israel as well as to the nations of the world, what verse eight clearly spells out: This is the day of which I have spoken! And the reason why the nation of Israel will not profane the Lord’s name anymore at that time, is because after the Lord destroys the Russian confederacy that comes against them, He will send them the Two Witnesses who will not only place the nation of Israel under God’s law, but the rest of the nations of the world as well. Imagine that! The high courts of the nations of the world which declare that it is legal to kill innocent unborn babies through the practice of abortion will be told by the Two Witnesses that it is not! For such a hideous practice violates the law of God: Psalm 127:3 “Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is His reward.” KJV And if these nations decide to live by their own laws and willfully disobey God’s commandments, then they will be punished severally for their disobedience by the Two Witnesses, for it will be their job to enforce God’s law upon all the peoples of the earth. Revelation 11:5-6, 10 “And if anyone wants to harm them (the Two Witnesses), fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies. And if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this manner. These (Two Witnesses) have power to shut heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy; and they have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they desire...And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them (when they are killed after their prophetic reign ends after 1,260 days), make merry, and send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.” So, what have we learned so far? Let me see if we can put all these things into their proper perspective utilizing our opening text on Isaiah 8: We have Israel and Damascus as the bait that will draw the Russian bear into God’s end of days trap. It is not a coincidence that Russia is heavily invested in today’s Syria, for even after the nations of the world demanded that the Syrian president resign after he used chemical weapons on his own people, Russia did not back off in their full support for Assad’s regime, instead they increased their armaments delivery and found a way to legitimize this cruel dictator so that he can stay in power. Now why Israel? What is the spoil and where is the booty that they can gain from an invasion of Israel? There is a lot more at stake here than gold and silver and oil, there is a great amount of political capital to be had if they play their cards right. It is painfully clear to many that the present strategy of the United States government is to lead from behind, which is a misnomer, for it really means not to lead at all, for all that this strategy creates is a vacuum of leadership that the likes of Putin would not mind filling up right away. In Isaiah’s prophetic context we are told that before the child of the prophetess is able to have knowledge of who his mother and father are, that the spoils will be gone. To me that means that before people even realize what is going on prophetically, it will be too late, for the vacuum would have already been filled. If the lesser nations of the world come to the conclusion that a power shift is taking place, as many of them are already realizing, then it is to their advantage to align themselves within the orb of this new emerging power, if it is to their own advantage of course. If Russia wanted to endear themselves to a majority of the nations of the world, the destruction and removal of the nation of Israel would play right into the hands of not only many of the Islamic nations, but some of the western nations as well, who privately hate Israel with a passion. As a matter of fact, the nations that join this Russian confederacy against Israel according to Ezekiel’s list in Ezekiel 38, many are Islamic nations today, Persia tops the list of these followers which is today’s Iran, they are continuously calling for the nation of Israel to be driven into the sea. We can honestly say that the might of the Unites States and what we might have done, is what kept Russia from even thinking of invading the nation of Israel in the past, but all of that is now changing rapidly. For even is the midst of the present power grab by Russia in the Ukraine, the United States government is warning Israel to reach an agreement with their enemies or else. I can say with confidence that the child of the prophetess has been born, and his name is Maher-Shal’al-Hash-Baz, Speed the Spoil, Hasten the Booty. I can also say with confidence that the bear of the north woods got his scent, and though he might try to resist the temptation of going after this child, if This is the day of which I (God) have spoken, this hungry bear will not be able to resist the bait that is in the hook of God Almighty. Isaiah 8:6-7 “Inasmuch as these people refused the waters of Shiloah that flow softly...Now therefore, behold, the Lord brings up over them the waters of the River, strong and mighty…” Has any nation ever that was called by God to do His purpose here on earth gotten away with their sin of rebelling against doing His will? I am utterly amazed how anywhere that I look in Scripture, how I see the present unfolding just as it was told by the prophets of old it would be. Although we may not have much of a say about what our nation does or about what it fails to do, we do know that our God is a personal God, and that is why He sent His Word personally to save us from our sins, Jesus, His only begotten Son. I gave them into the hand of their enemies, and they fell by the sword.” Ezekiel 38 and 39 speaks of an end time invasion against the nation of Israel, this invasion is initiated by God’s prompting for a purpose. Ezekiel 38:16 “You will come up against My people Israel like a cloud, to cover the land. It will be in the latter days that I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me, when I am hallowed in you, O Gog, before their eyes.” Prophecy tells us that in the latter days God will bring His final judgments upon the earth, His judgments will last for seven years, and it is called the Day of the Lord’s Wrath, that judgment will culminate in the final battle of Armageddon, where all the armies of the nations of the world will meet their final judgment. Revelation 19:19, 21 “And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army...And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse…” Before that final judgment takes place, God in His mercy, will reveal Himself to the nations of the world, so that those who are foolish enough to take a stand against Him will do so in full knowledge of who the real God is. In order for God to show Himself holy to the nations before His seven years final judgment begins, He has to do something that only an all Mighty God can do, wipe out an entire army in an instant, for that will leave no doubt in the mind of the world as to who the real God is. About twenty five hundred years ago God revealed to Ezekiel the name and the location of the nation that would lead a confederacy against the nation of Israel, the nations that would be part of that confederacy and that Israel would cease to be a nation for a season, for He told them through Ezekiel that He would give them over into the hand of their enemies because of their unfaithfulness. Think of it from our present day perspective, were we to have a world wide vote right now to let the people of the world decide who they believe the real God is, the God of the nation of Israel would not fair very well, for the nation of Israel, and the Jews in particular, are the most hated people by the Gentile world of today. Even in some Christian teachings we find that they do not believe that the present day nation of Israel has any heritage left in biblical prophecy, they call it replacement theology, for they teach that Israel forfeited all of their rights of inheritance when they rejected Jesus as their Messiah, and that the church is now the beneficiary of all the promises that the nation of Israel had coming their way for the latter days. When God entered into His covenant with Abraham, the covenant was two-fold, as the sand of the seas meant a physical inheritance, and as the stars of the sky meant a spiritual inheritance. The law came through the ministry of Moses but grace came through our Lord Jesus Christ, Israel and the church are both part of the covenant. So that clearly both Israel and the church play a vital role in end time prophecy, even if one does not accept the heritage of the other, as it is the case in many instances today, so that God has to set the record straight. Before Ezekiel is told that in the latter days the Gentiles will know that God has a place and purpose for the nation of Israel, He lets Israel know that they have a vital role to play along with the church. Ezekiel 39:22 “So the house of Israel shall know that I am the Lord their God from that day forward.” From which day forward? From the day that He reveals Himself holy to the nations of the world by destroying their invading army, and removing the church to her spiritual inheritance, and restoring the nation of Israel to their physical inheritance, which is the Holy Land. Ezekiel 39:28-29 “Then they shall know that I am the Lord their God, who sent them into captivity among the nations, but also brought them back to their land, and left none of them captive any longer. And I will not hide My face from them anymore; for I shall have poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel, says the Lord God.” The house or nation of Israel can only be sealed after the church is removed, for that is on whom the Spirit of God is resting right now. Ezekiel 37:11, 14 “Then He said to me, ‘Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, “Our bones are dry (without the Spirit), our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!”...I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land (most of the world today see Israel as occupiers, they won't after God intervenes on their behalf). Then you shall know (along with the rest of the world) that I, the Lord, have spoken it and performed it,’ says the Lord.” In verses twelve and thirteen there is a reference to the resurrection from the dead, and we know that when the resurrection from the dead takes place that is when the faithful Philadelphia church will be removed. Ezekiel 37:13 “Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves.” Since the first stage of the first resurrection from the dead includes all the saints of old, and since it is Jesus who will bring them all back to life, the Jewish nation will know then that Jesus Christ is the Lord, God’s Anointed One, as Moses had clearly told them a long time ago. The nation that leads the army that attacks the nation of Israel is identified as coming from the uttermost north, and it is called Gog, the prince of Rosh, which means head. Part of their confederacy will be the nations of Persia, Ethiopia, Libya, Gomer, and Togarmah. These are their ancestral tribal names, Persia is today's Iran and they have made it clear that they want the nation of Israel to be wiped off the map. And that brings us to our present day alignment of nations; Russia and Iran have a vested interest in the government of Syria remaining in power, for they are allies, and as of this writing, the US is contemplating the use of military force against the Syrian nation for using chemicals weapons in their war against the insurgents that want to overthrow the present Syrian government that is in bed with Iran and Russia. This conflict of it self, as it stands right now, does not in my opinion constitute enough reason for the northern confederacy to be activated against the nation of Israel, but it is ripe for the last major prophetic event that has to happen before the invasion takes place, to maybe come to pass before all of this is over. Isaiah 17:1 “The burden against Damascus (the capital of Syria). ‘Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, and it will be a ruinous heap.’” Damascus is one of the oldest city in the world and has been continuously inhabited for most of its history, which means that Isaiah’s prophecy has never been fulfilled, and it awaits its fulfillment today. It does not take much to imagine that if in our present situation a weapon of mass destruction was to be leveled against the city of Damascus, for that is what it would take to wipe out an entire city, and if it was blamed on Israel, that would be reason enough for the allies of Syria to come to her rescue and avenge those whom they blame for such a catastrophe. Could it be that God Himself brings judgment against that city in order to draw Russia and their compatriots into the slaughter end time feast that He has prepared on the mountains of Israel? Ezekiel 39:17-21 “And as for you, son of man, thus says the Lord, ‘Speak to every sort of bird and to every beast of the field: assemble yourselves and come; gather together from all sides to My sacrificial meal which I am sacrificing for you, a great sacrificial meal on the mountains of Israel, that you may eat flesh and drink blood. You shall eat the flesh of the mighty, drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams and lambs, of goats and bulls, all of them fatlings of Bashan. You shall eat fat until you are full, and drink blood till you are drunk, at my sacrificial meal which I am sacrificing for you. You shall be filled at My table with horses and riders, with mighty men and with all the men of war,’ says the Lord God. I will set My glory among the nations; all the nations shall see My judgment which I have executed, and My hand which I have laid on them.” Five times the Lord uses the words sacrificial and sacrificing, the point is clear, before the Lord ushers anything new He always requires a blood sacrifice, six million Jews were sacrificed in Nazi camps before the nation of Israel could be established once again, now the world is going to provide the meat for the sacrifice that is going to let all the world know who the real God is once and for all. This is how close we might be to the end of our journey here on earth. If God is able to tell Ezekiel twenty five centuries ago the geopolitical alignments of today, and every detail of the events that are about to happen, then we can be sure that we can trust Him when He tells us that He is coming back soon to redeem us to Himself. House of Faith Ministries (HoFM) presents a teaching on Isaiah 19:19 “In that day there will be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the Lord at its border.” Top of Page ALTAR IN THE MIDST, PILLAR ON THE BORDER Isaiah 19:19 “In that day there will be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the Lord at its border.” Although the above end time prophecy, which some believe is a direct reference to the pyramid of Giza, which straddles the border of old Egypt between north and south, and which also stands in the midst of the entire nation today, it's a future prophecy that details the condition of three middle eastern nations at a specific point in time, as our next verses show. Isaiah 19:23-25 “In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria (through the land of Israel), and the Assyrian will come into Egypt and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians will serve (the Lord in Israel) with the Assyrians. In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria—a blessing in the midst of the land, whom the Lord of hosts shall bless, saying, ‘Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance.’” Now I believe that there is an extremely relevant spiritual connection to all that is been manifested in the physical unfolding of this prophecy. The nation of Israel today borders the land of Egypt on its west side, and the land of Syria on its northeast side, where the Assyrian nation was located on Isaiah’s day. Both the nation of Egypt and the Syrian nation are experiencing great turmoil as of this writing, which is clearly setting the stage for what the Lord is getting ready to do as we approach the days of the end of the age. But I couldn't help but notice how the Lord intends for this trinity of nations to convey a message of an end time blessing, in the midst of the land, that would have great spiritual repercussions as well. We know that Egypt is often used as a metaphor for the world or the flesh, but in this case the Lord calls the Egyptians whom He is blessing, My people, and to the Assyrians whom He is blessing as well, He refers as, The work of My hands. And Israel He calls, My inheritance. God formed Adam’s body from clay but that clay did not animate until God breathed into the nostrils He fashioned on the clay, it was then that man became a living soul, the work of God’s hands, His inheritance whom He placed on the garden to tend it and to keep it. We see in Ezekiel 38-39 how the reinstituted nation of Israel cries to God that their bones are dried and in need of a spiritual rebirth. Could it be that this is what is taking place right now? The mechanics that will bring about a physical tri-unique alignment that would serve as a sign to the nations before the end time blessings are restored. Isaiah 19:20 “And it will be for a sign and for a witness to the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the Lord because of oppressors, and He will send them a Savior and a Mighty One, and He will deliver them.” How can we not understand the sign of the cry of the Egyptian nation where as many as fifteen million people took to the streets and asked for deliverance from oppressors? It is so hard for me to understand the logistics required to accommodate millions of people on the streets when just a few thousands leaving a stadium, where a game was played, can put so much stress on a city’s infrastructure, but it happened. If Egypt is representative, spiritually speaking, of the physical body or the entire world, and if Assyria, which encompassed Lebanon as well as the Syria and Iraq and Jordan of today in Isaiah’s day, represents the soul of the nations, and if Israel which represents the spiritual center of the earth, with Jerusalem as its capital, what does their aligning together mean for us today? It means that the great world wide rule of Messiah that takes place in the age that is soon to come is nearing fast. The spiritual implications for us, as far as deliverance is concerned is this; the blessings of deliverance for us individually cannot come until we align ourselves, the trinity of our spirit, soul, and body as one in our midst and in the border thereof or our outer self. Let us look at the physical progression of how Egypt, which represents the flesh, its prepared by the Lord to erect Him an altar in her midst and a pillar to the Lord in its border or outer semblance. Isaiah 19:1 “The burden against Egypt. Behold, the Lord rides on a swift cloud, and will come into Egypt; the idols of Egypt will totter at His presence, and the heart of Egypt will melt in its midst.” When a person becomes born again, they do so by accepting the Spirit of God who rides swiftly into their hearts as they repent, which causes a commotion among the idols that that person has erected in their souls. Immediately a civil war breaks out within that person’s heart that has just being converted, for there can be no fellowship between the Spirit of God and idols. Isaiah 19:2 “I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians (demons against demons); everyone will fight against his brother, and everyone against his neighbor, city against city, kingdom against kingdom.” This war within has more than one purpose, first, it takes place for the purpose of exposing the demonic infrastructures and the strongholds within the human soul that has just being converted. Secondly, by dividing these demonic entities, it causes those spirits to fail in their struggles to hold onto the person that is being delivered, by making them weaker as they struggle against one another to hold on. Thirdly, it reveals to the person being delivered the connection that these demonic entities, that the person being delivered might not even known existed, had to the rulers of the darkness of this world. Isaiah 19:3 “The spirit of Egypt will fail in its midst; I will destroy their counsel, and they will consult the idols and the charmers, the mediums and the sorcerers.” This is when the person that is being delivered has to make a choice, do they hold on to these demonic hordes that have being the enablers of their flesh up to this point, or do they renounce them and decide that they do not want them to be part of their lives any more? Jesus told us that when a demon is driving out of a person, that demon goes about wondering through dry places, seeking rest and finding none. So it returns to see if it can get back into the house, the body that it was cast out of, if the demon sees an opening, it goes out and finds seven demons more powerful than himself and enter into the person he was cast out of, and the condition of that person becomes worst. Jesus also told us that if after a person that has being forgiven the debt of sin that they could not ever repay, that if they fail to forgive others their trespasses against them for whatever reason, that such a person would be handed over to the tormentors until their debt was pay, the debt which they could not pay to begin with. Isaiah 19:4 “And the Egyptians (the flesh that refuses deliverance) I will give into the hand of a cruel master, and a fierce king will rule over them, says the Lord, the Lord of hosts.” So that the spiritual and the physical mirror each other. What we see transpiring today on the global and national news is pretty much a reflection of that which is taking place within the souls of the inhabitants of the nations. Those who reject the Gospel of Jesus Christ as nonsense are lost and without hope, despair and hopelessness defines them, and they really do not have a clue as to how much is at stake if they do not wise up. On the other hand we have those who know about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but are enemies of the cross, so they work feverishly to oppose, and to pervert the truth of the Gospel, lest those who hear it will come into the liberating knowledge of God’s love for them. And then, we have the workers of iniquity, those who trade in the commodities of the underworld, who for a piece of hell’s pot sell their souls to the devil and become active in recruiting out of humanity, fodder for the devil’s cannons. They pervert society to reflect their own tormented souls, they push drugs, perversion, idolatry, misconduct, mayhem, pornography, violence, and every enslaving thing that would gain them favor with their demonic masters, with whom they will be sharing eternal torment. But to us it falls to reveal through our outer walls, or borders, what is on the altar which we have erected in our hearts to our God, that which has become a pillar of our continuance in the grace of God. We continue to proclaim the grace of God in love, knowing full well that God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. So that for the sake of the Gospel we are willing to endure ridicule and shame, when we are reviled we respond with a prayer of grace on behalf of those who chose to persecute us. Isaiah 19:21 “Then the Lord will be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the Lord in that day, and will make sacrifice and offering; yes, they will make a vow to the Lord and perform it.” What a beautiful symbol of the deliverance that awaits our flesh, it says that the Lord will be known to our flesh, and that our flesh will know the Lord on that day; and the sign that our flesh knows the Lord and that its known of the Lord is that it will be able to make a vow to the Lord and keep it. What that means is that when our flesh is reviled for the testimony that it holds, we will offer the sacrifice of praise unto our Lord and will offer a sincere prayer on behalf of those who do the reviling. Do you want to know what happens to those people that we pray for even after they revile us and persecute us? The Lord strikes them with kindness. Isaiah 19:22 “And the Lord will strike Egypt, He will strike and heal it; they will return to the Lord, and He will be entreated by them and heal them.” Oh, what a mighty God we serve, how awesome is His mercy and how boundless is His grace! His wisdom is unsearchable and His power to heal us is unending!
