Top of Page Mission Statement To live the reality of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in such a manner that: Death to the things of this world in our lives will be obvious to all, while we proclaim the life of Jesus Christ to every corner of the world; Beginning with the very corners of our world. Purpose Motto Luke 18:8 Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? May the Lord bless you and keep you; may the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; may the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. Greetings in the name of Jesus our redeemer. My name is Marcos Marrero, and this is what I believe: I believe that we ought to always thank God for sending Jesus, his only begotten Son to die for our sins. I believe that we ought to praise God always, for He did not leave his only begotten Son hanging on the cross or inside the grave. We ought to worship Him! The creator of the heavens and the earth, who raised Jesus from the dead, and has given Him a name that is above every name. Philippians 2:9-11 "Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." To be found worthy of His calling at His soon return. For He that promised is faithful. It is my intention for this web page to make this proclamation: The Word of God is the only TRUTH! Jesus, the messiah of Israel is the revelation of God's TRUTH! The Holy Spirit sanctifies every human who believes the TRUTH, as presented in the gospel of Jesus Christ. II Thessalonians 2:13-14 "But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ." I boldly proclaim that the same Jesus that was taken up to heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father, creator of heaven and earth. Will soon return to this earth to set up His kingdom. I boldly proclaim that this same Jesus will judge both the living and the dead. Those who believe God's TRUTH as presented in the gospel of Jesus Christ will be rewarded with the crown of life, and will forever be with the Lord. But those who reject the TRUTH of the gospel of Jesus Christ will be dammed for eternity. II Thessalonians 2:12 "That they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness." I also believe that God will hold every believer accountable who does not strive to have the work of faith with power in their lives. II Thessalonians 1:11 "Therefore we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power." It is the demonstration of God's power through faith in the TRUTH of the Word of God, that will convict sinners of their error and cause them to cry out for our God's salvation. Luke 5:8 "When Simon Peter saw it, (the demonstration of God's miracle working power) he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying 'depart from me for I am a sinful man, O Lord!'" It is my desire to present to you in this web page the gospel of Jesus Christ in its true form. Free from the contamination of human fallacies. Knowing, even as I am writing this, that Jesus will hold me accountable for everything that I will be teaching here. James 3:1 "Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly." Lord Jesus! I dedicate this web page to you. I pray for your anointing and guidance. Let those who read its contents be led by your precious Holy Spirit to receive the promises of your abundant life. Amen.

For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.” These three demonic spirits jump out like frogs out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet and leap upon the entire world, performing signs and wonders with the goal of deceiving all the humans who inhabit this earth. Unclean spirits always peddle lies against the Word of God, their aim is to keep those who will be saved from sure destruction—once they know the truth—from knowing the truth that Jesus can keep them safe from the judgment of that great day of God Almighty. That great day of God Almighty—as of this writing—is still in the future, but the demonic doctrines represented by these three frogs are alive and present and have been around for centuries now leading many strayed. That is why Jesus, knowing that many would be exposed to these demonic doctrines, warns us to be watchful and to keep His covering—His promises—on like a garment. Many will say that no one knows the time of the end. That is exactly why we need to keep watch and be ready for today many signs tell us that we maybe already in them. Revelation 16:15 “Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.” Charles Darwin, Sigmund Freud and Karl Marx are great examples of how this demonic trinity has been working its way into our everyday lives. Through Darwin comes the teaching that the human body evolved from an animal which is a lie. Through Freud comes the teaching that the human mind or soul can be void of morality, that is, if we are nothing more than animals then there should be no guilt or shame nor Day of Judgment. Through the teachings of Marx comes the teachings of socialism or social justice as it is called today, which embodies the aspiration that every aspect of human life can be control by these frog-like demons behind these doctrines. 1 John 2:15-16 “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world— the lust of the flesh (Darwin), the lust of the eyes (Freud) and the pride of life (Marx)—is not of the Father but is of the world.” Job 41:34 “He (Leviathan the dragon) beholds every high thing (God’s moral law with contempt); He is king over all the children of pride.” We come to the place in time, where the morality of God’s Law in viewed with contempt by many, and pride for a life style that is against God’s morality is publicly celebrated. - 2023 THE YEAR OF WONDERS | hofm
Top of Page Top of Page 2023: THE YEAR OF WONDERS Written by Pastor Marcos Marrero Published on 1/7/23 Acts 2:19 “I will show WONDERS in heaven above and SIGNS in the earth beneath: blood and fire and vapor of smoke.” We could say that the SIGNS in the earth have already being occurring for a while now, but what is coming—very possibly this year—is God’s response to all that has been taking place under this new age of “WOKE-ISM”. Psalm 138:2 “I will worship toward Your holy temple, and praise Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your truth; for You have magnified Your word above all Your name.” The Word of God is spiritual and in order for us to understand them we have to be born again spiritually. So that those who lack this spiritual discernment are very prone to follow the spirit of delusion that leads them straight to hell itself. 1 Corinthians 2:14 “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, BECAUSE THEY ARE (they have to be) SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED.” In brackets and bold mine for emphasis. The heavenly wonders reveal the truth that can only be found in the Word of God. The earthly wonders reveal the lies that have taken so many captive by the delusions that they have believed. Wokeism embodies the very perversion of all that is truth. It is a deception that mocks the very act of the awakening that takes place at the moment that a person is born again after receiving Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10 “The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and LYING WONDERS, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.” The main evil spirits behind WOKE-ISM can be easily identified as Lawlessness, Inquisition and Antichrist. In the last couple of years we saw the signs of how the spirit of Lawlessness wreaked havoc all over the United States with impunity. The signs of the spirit of Inquisition was and is still demonstrated against those who dare to take a public stand for what is obviously truth. The spirit of Antichrist has been around since Jesus rose from the dead, but now its prominence is that it is well received in all kinds of its perverted form, while true Christianity is openly rejected by society and governments throughout the world. While the vast majority of those who have fallen under the spell of wokeism are living a life of deception, I am pretty certain that Satan has placed in strategic positions of leadership some of his own disciples trained in the mysteries of the occult. These are persons that know that God is real and that His Word is truth, but have chosen to serve the devil. What I am trying to say is that they know by studying the Word of God what is coming and what they need to do to in order to manipulate the truth and take advantage of the situation for their own profit. Psalm 2:1 “Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing?” Wokeism is the vain thing that the world is using to plot against God and His Anointed One. Psalm 2:2-3 “The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, ‘Let us break Their bonds in pieces and cast away Their cords from us.’” The kings and rulers take counsel together: Who are these rulers that plot with those who govern their nations? The ruling spirits that manifest themselves through wokeism! Psalm 2:4-5 “He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; the Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure.” He shall speak to them in His wrath: How or in what manner is God going to speak to the kings and rulers of this world? Revelation 6:12-13 “I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair and the moon became like blood. And THE STARS OF HEAVEN fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind.” God answers them with wonders in the sun and in the moon, when the earth cracks open releasing a great earthquake that causes all the demonic rulers to fall from the second heaven to the earth. Revelation 6:14-15 “Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rock of the mountains.” What irony, the ruling demons are thrown down to the earth and the mighty men hide in their bomb shelters inside the earth. Revelation 6:16-17 “And said to the mountains and rocks, ‘Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?’” All the pieces are in place right now, it could happen at any moment, even in this new year. Meanwhile there are so many still under the cloud of deception caused by wokeism. Is the Lord going to do something to awaken them from their demonic slumber before it is too late? Acts 2:20-21 “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, BEFORE the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” The devil will do his very best to try to keep the heavenly wonders that God will reveal from turning those who have been blinded to the truth that Jesus is coming to the earth to reign and to rule for one thousand years. I often think about the reaction of those who have not yet accepted Jesus’ offer of grace, when these wonders begin. How would you see Jesus? Is He coming to rescue you from God’s dreadful judgments? Or, are you going to call upon the name of the Lord to save you then? Or, is your great fear going to overwhelm you and cause you to run away and hide from Him? I am sure many of you have heard the Scripture that says that God so loved the world that He sent His only Son to die for you on the cross. Have you heard the next verse after that? John 3:17 “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” Jesus is coming back to the earth to judge it and to get rid of all the evil in it. The only way to escape God’s final judgment is to be cleansed from all evil with the blood of Jesus. By all means don’t wait until it is too late. Call upon His name right now and say: Help me Jesus! Search the Bible and you will find that not a single one that truly repented was ever turned down by God; NOT A SINGLE ONE!

- THE FEAR OF THE LORD | hofm
Top of Page Lecture Hall Archives THE FEAR OF THE LORD Ecclesiastes 12:13 “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all.” What is the fear of the Lord? I remember back in June 1976, when I first became a Christian, wondering what it meant to fear God back then, after all I was saved by responding to the Gospel, where Jesus forgave all my sins and I was made aware of His love for me. But every time that I read in the Bible about fearing God I felt that I was missing something, then I heard somebody teach that to fear God meant to respect God, and I thought that made more sense, but still I felt that perhaps something was missing. Thirty seven years later and I feel that I have a better understanding of what the fear of the Lord is, but I know still that there is so much more that I need to learn about God if I ever want to get close to have a deeper understanding of the true meaning of that phrase, why is that? God reveals Himself to humans in different levels and at different times, and the more that we experience the revelation of God and at different levels, the greater that our understanding will be of what the fear of the Lord is to us personally. Take a young person that goes to war, and while there in the front lines experiences the death of soldiers around him, and in some way he is convinced that he will not come out alive, but yet somehow he survives, that young person will have an extremely different understanding of what fear is, when compared let’s say to a person that has never come that close to the reality of death. So that there are different levels of fear that are based on the different experiences of fear that we’ve encountered throughout our lives that will limit our understanding of what the fear of the Lord truly is. Let us see if we can analyze the fears that we might not have personally faced in our own past, through the experiences of others in Scripture. Hebrews 12:21 “And so terrifying was the sight that Moses said, ‘I am exceedingly afraid and trembling.’” I find that in the deepest level of our souls, where the fear that resides deep within us is, we have also the capacity to experience the highest level of human elation possible, so that both fear and elation are there together. I believe that what brings the greatest level of fear upon a human is to be exposed to the glory of God, and it is that same glory that brings about the greatest elation into the very core of that born again believer. When I experienced the rapture in a vision back in 1989, my body was so afraid when I saw Jesus in the fullness of His glory, that it trembled so much that the cells in my body felt like they were becoming unglued, for my body was gripped with such an incredible fear, yet at the same time my spirit was shouting at the top of his voice, Hallelujah, He kept His promised. I wrote the entire vision in the introduction page in my book Man’s Final Destiny, in the books section of the houseoffaithministries.org So that at the same instant that I was experiencing the greatest fear that I had ever felt, I’ve also experienced the greatest elation possible. So that for those of us who believe, fear and elation kind of go together, for with the fear-experience comes the opportunity to receive a higher level of rev-elation. Remember that it was after experiencing the terrifying fear that caused him to trembled, that Moses received the ten commandments along with the rest of the law. Proverbs 9:10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Do you see Proverbs 9:10 through a different light now? I know I do! Ecclesiastes 12:14 “For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.” I believe that the next level of fear that trouble many of us has to do with God’s judgments over the works of our hands, since many of us have very different definitions of what the right thing to do is. How do we deal with the fear that our actions or lack of actions bring to our hearts when we view them through the prism of facing the judgment of God someday? Hebrews 4:12-13 “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.” The source of the fear of the judgment of our works or deeds, emanates from all those secret things that we have done and believe are hidden and out of sight, and when we are reminded that one day they will all be exposed, it gives us a great deal of consternation to say the least. How do we deal with this fear over the judgment of our works? We need to expose the motive for our actions to the light of the Word of God. Remember that our righteousness are like filthy rags to God, and our deeds do not merit any better, for as it is written: Romans 3:12 “They have all turned aside; they have together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, no, not one.” So that if our righteousness before God can only stand on the foundation of His grace, so do our works as well. So that everything that I do that is right, can only come as the result of His grace working through me, Scripturally speaking, and everything else I must bring to the cross as well, and ask the Lord to forgive them. So that in everything Jesus gets the glory; He gets the glory when I do what is right, for I can only do what is right through the power of His grace working in me, and when I confess all my faults, misdeeds, and all my failures before Him, He gets the glory as well, for only He is faithful and just to forgive me of all my trespasses when I confess them before Him, that is what frees me from the fear of judgment. 1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” In a perfect love relationship there are no secrets; if we know that Jesus truly loves us and that He is willing to forgive us of any and all sins that we confess before Him, so that we can start fresh every morning, then we know that there is not going to be any surprises on judgment day. So that next time that the devil tries to condemn you by bringing to your memory some past sins that you have already confessed to the Lord, and you feel that spirit of fear rising up within you, recall to your mind this next Scripture and have hope: Lamentations 3:20-23 “My soul still remembers and sinks within me. This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” The next level of fear that we are dealing with in this lesson is respect. Hebrews 5:14 “But solid food belongs to those who are of full age (mature), that is, those who by reason of use (practice) have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” Respect has to do with assuming responsibilities for our actions, if we just think, well if I do wrong I’ll just repent and go on my merry way. An unruly child is disciplined by the rod, a child that listens however, though still a child, can receive discipline through words. The most grievous parts of our sins to God is when we injure others by them, thereby causing damage to God’s goods, that is when God will time-out those who refuse discipline, and at the root of refusing to be disciplined by the Word of God is the lack of respect for it. Galatians 6:7-8 “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.” He who sows to the flesh will live in fear, fear of God, fear of others, fear of his actions, fear of the future, fear of judgment, for all these fears come as the results of corruption within, and may someday bring that person to the point where they become incorrigible. He who sows to the Spirit is continuously guided by the counsel of the Word of God, his fear or respect for it, drive his actions to the point where he eventually matures into the place of peace that our Lord has reserved for him. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
- THE MANIFESTATION OF HIS PRESENCE | hofm
Top of Page Lecture Hall Archives THE MANIFESTATION OF HIS PRESENCE John 14:21 “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” When Jesus uttered these words to His disciples it became immediately clear to them that Jesus was making a very special promise to them. When you promise to manifest yourself to someone, it means that you will reveal yourself to that person and not to others. Because if everyone can see you there is no need for you to reveal yourself, since you are already visible to everybody. John 14:19 “A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also.” It is within the context of Jesus leaving them, and promising them that He would reveal Himself again after His departure, that this conversation is taking place. And it prompted this question by one of His disciples: John 14:22 “Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, ‘Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?’” It is obvious that the disciples wanted to make sure that after Jesus left them, that they would be able to know how and where they could see Him again. Now for those of us who never had the opportunity of meeting and serving Jesus before He went to the cross, these passages of Scripture are very important, for they detail how we can also experience the personal manifestation of Jesus after His resurrection from the dead. Jesus gives us a very important key in verse nineteen: Because I live, you will live also. As we read the previous chapter Jesus is clearly telling them that where He is going they cannot follow, because He is going to the cross to die for their sins. But then He says to them, because I will live, you will live also, meaning: I will die for you so that you can live, and if you are willing to die for My cause, you too will live to see Me again. John 13:37-38 “Peter said to Him, ‘Lord, why can I not follow You now? I will lay down my life for Your sake.’ Jesus answered him, ‘Will you lay down your life for My sake? Most assuredly, I say to you, the rooster shall not crow till you have denied Me three times.’” Peter understood the part about dying for the Lord, but he failed to understand the part about living for Him at that time. How many Christians have given their lives for the sake of our Lord’s Gospel this past year alone? It's not easy to die willingly, but for most of those who have given their lives for the Lord, they just did not have the choice to continue living for Him, and they surely were not willing to deny Him, that is why they were killed. Now we know from Scripture that those who are martyred for the sake of their testimony of Jesus are immediately welcome into His glorious holy presence. Talk about manifestation, those who remain faithful to their confession of faith in the face of imminent death, cannot help but to see the fullness of Jesus’ glory revealed to them as Jesus joyfully receives them into the fullness of His joy, before their bodies even hit the ground. But for those of us who remain the lesson is very clear, if we want to see the manifestation of Jesus in our lives we need to die to ourselves. What it really comes down to is love. John 14:23 “Jesus answered and said to him, ‘If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.’” I hear so many people say how much they love someone, but by their actions that sentiment is betrayed. Can persons that abandon their spousal or parental obligations for the sake of following their own self interests really say that they love the ones that they are leaving behind? This is what Jesus has to say about that: John 14:24 “He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.” From God’s perspective true love can only be manifested by our commitment to carry out our obligations to His Word. We can say how much we love God all day long but by our actions we will be judged. Matthew 11:19 “The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her children (the eventual manifestation of her good works).” And the consequences of our actions work both ways, if we are doing what is right and people falsely accuse us of doing wrong—like they did to Jesus—eventually those who do right will be proven right, and those who do wrong will be proven wrong. But those who do wrong will not experience the manifestation of Jesus in their lives, for those who do wrong, do so for selfish ambition and have not died to themselves. We are not talking about perfection here, for if only those who are perfect can expect Jesus to manifest Himself to them, then you can be sure that there will not be any personal manifestations any time soon. What did Jesus mean when He said: He who has My commandments and keeps them...If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word? Now let’s take a look at His words from the perspective of the imperfections of our human nature. When you show up to work everyday, can your boss really say that you are the perfect worker? Even in the remote possibility that you were the perfect worker, they would never say that about you, for if they did, they would have to give you a raise. Ha, Ha! This is what an employer is looking for in an ideal worker: that he/she shows up on time, every time, all the time. That he/she has a general knowledge of what they are expected to do, and a willingness to do it. And that they have the capacity to learn and to progress to a point where they get better and better at what they do. What are the ideal qualifications for a parent or a spouse? Does anybody really expect a husband or a wife or a parent to be perfect? I say not! But a husband is expected to be there for his wife, and the wife to be there for her husband. And how can a father or mother raise a child if they are absent? It is the same in our service to God! We do not get saved to continue in our own selfish way of life. Now that we are saved our responsibility is to the Word of God, to follow His commandments and to keep His Word. We are not perfect when we start, and we will not be perfect when we finish our Christian journey here on this earth. We will be judged by our faithfulness to His calling! Did we show up; in time, all the time? Did we show willingness to serve, and were we willing to change and learn new ways of living? If you work for a big corporation you may notice some apprehensiveness on the part of some of the workers when they know that the big boss is going to be around. That is how some Christians feel when the manifestation of God’s presence is all around them. If you believe that Jesus expects you to be perfect, it would be natural to feel uncomfortable when He manifests Himself to you. But what if He is just looking for you to be honest with Him? John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’” Jesus does not really need perfect workers, does He? He does not even need any workers. What He is really looking for is for you and I to have a trusting relationship with Him. A relationship that is based in mutual love for one another instead of the dread of fear and failure. And there is no better place to have a relationship with Him than to share with Him in the things that He loves so much: He loves us! Humanity, He is for us, wants to be with us, and wants to be in us. He is such a gentlemen that He will not manifest Himself to us if it will make us feel uncomfortable. If we want His presence, then we must truly desire the manifestation of His presence. There may be some of you out there that feel that, perhaps you will never be comfortable enough around the manifestation of His presence. Maybe you were brought up to see our heavenly Father as a fearsome Judge instead of a loving Savior. But think about what is at stake here! John 15:1-4 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean (we need not fear our frailties) because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.” After reading all these Scriptures I hope that you came to the same conclusion that I did, and that is that, intimacy with Him is not really an option, but the essence of life itself. That is if we truly want to be fruitful in our service to Him. The first step is getting down on your knees with a humbled and honest heart saying "Lord I don’t have much to offer you, but what little I have I give to you completely and irrevocably", then show up before His presence in the same manner, everyday, for the rest of your life. There is no greater joy than to have the privilege of experiencing the manifestation of His presence within the inner sanctum of our hearts.
- PROFANING THE COVENANT | hofm
Top of Page Lecture Hall Archives PROFANING THE COVENANT Malachi 2:10 “Have we not all one Father? Has not one God created us? Why do we deal treacherously with one another by profaning the covenant of the fathers?” In this lesson we are going to explore what the consequences are of turning our backs on God and the godly traditions that were handed down to us by the fathers. In our opening text we see an immediate progression of what happens when we reject God’s covenant. God is a God of covenant, He is in covenant with all the creation, both animate and inanimate, everything functions because of His covenant that He keeps with His creation. Inanimate objects just follow the laws of nature to which they are subject to. Animate creatures like animals just follow the laws that they are subject to by their natural instincts. However, we human creatures were created in the image of God with the ability to reason out intelligently the very laws (covenant) to which we are subject to, and thereby, we have the ability to understand the benefits and the consequences that our obedience or disobedience to those laws will bring upon us. Hosea 6:7 “But like men (literally, Adam) they transgressed the covenant; there they dealt treacherously with Me.” The first violation of God’s covenant was committed by Adam the first man, and the nature of the violation had to do with him believing the words of Satan, who told him that he was naked and therefore he was no good to God, over the words of God, who had told Adam that he was good even though he was naked: Genesis 1:31 “Then God saw everything that He had made (including Adam and Eve who were both naked), and indeed was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.” Genesis 2:25 “And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed (until Satan told them that they were both naked).” So that in their nature, all covenant violations have as their roots rebellion against the Word of God! We see that in our opening text, where the prophet has to ask out loud: Have we not all one Father? Rejection of His Word is in essence a rejection of His Fatherhood over us, which in turn leads men to deny that they were created by Him in the first place, that is why the prophet asks secondly: Has not one God created us? And of course, if we reject God’s Word as stated in His covenant that governs the interactions of men (love thy neighbor), then we end up with the: Why do we deal treacherously with one another. Hello! Because we are profaning God’s covenant with the fathers, that is why we are in the mess we are in. The teaching of evolution is in essence a cover for those who do not want to be under the rules of God’s covenant with the fathers. In order to deny the existence of God as our Father and Creator they needed to replace God’s Word with a myth, in order to dupe the less informed into thinking that they are not really in rebellion to the governing covenant of God’s law when they deny their Creator. That ruse worked only for a little while by having so called scientists teach that such a myth was scientifically possible, until DNA proved them all wrong, but that hasn’t stopped them, proving to all that it was never truth that they were after, it was unadulterated rebellion against God and His covenant all along that drove them. Malachi 2:11 “Judah has dealt treacherously, and an abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem, for Judah has profaned the Lord’s holy institution which He loves: he has married the daughter of a foreign god.” The prophet Malachi is dealing with two separate issues that have relevance to one another, he is first dealing with a spiritual issue, and secondly, with a physical one. The spiritual issue is their idolatry, and the physical issue is their violation of the institution of marriage. Violation of God’s covenant which is spiritual adultery in nature, is always followed by the violation of God’s laws that govern the physical interactions of mankind. We see that in our culture today, first comes the rejection of God as our Father and Creator, which is then followed by the rejection of the Lord’s holy institutions, such as that of marriage being between a man and a woman. The profaning of God’s covenant always follows a natural and predictable progression that is fraught with evil consequences. But wait it gets worse! Malachi 2:12 “May the Lord cut off from the tents of Jacob the man who does this, being awake and aware, yet who brings an offering to the Lord of Hosts!” The evolution of their rebellion is now very clear. There is now proof available to the nations of the world, scientific proof, that God is not only our Father and Creator, but that He is coming back soon to establish His kingdom here on earth, and yet their rebellion is breathtaking, to the point that they think that God will have to accept their redefinition of God’s holy institutions which they have perverted. Malachi 2:17 “You have wearied the Lord with your words; yet you say, ‘In what way have we wearied Him?’ In that you say, ‘Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and He delights in them,’ or ‘Where is the God of justice?’” Once their cover was blown and were finally out of excuses about God’s true existence, they resorted to redefining the terms of God’s covenant by saying: Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the Lord, after all, they say, God is love, and then they comfort themselves by saying: Where is the God of justice? In other words, we have been getting away with it all these many years, why judge us now? Malachi 4:1 “For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, and all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up, says the Lord of hosts, that will leave them neither root nor branch.” God’s wheels of justice may seem to move slowly to the wicked, but when they finally come there will be no compromise, for the Lord’s covenant is unbreakable, immutable, and unchangeable. The only protection afforded to us is to stay connected to the roots of the covenant which God handed down to us through the fathers, by keeping the godly traditions and acknowledging Him who created us and who sustains us. Malachi 4:2-3 “But to you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves. You shall trample the wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day that I do this, says the Lord.” It pays to stay faithful to the covenant, for after all, our God is a merciful God who loves us, but if we disown Him, He will disown us and have no choice other than to reject those who reject Him. Malachi 4:6 “And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.” Let us strive to make sure that our hearts are towards the godly traditions that the fathers have handed down to us, let us remain faithful to them, do not fall for the persuading lies of the devil that prompt you to break away from tradition, for if you do, your feet are not swift enough to deliver you from the strike of the curse upon the earth that follows such treacherous rebellion.
- THE SECRET THINGS JUDGMENT | hofm
Top of Page The Deliverance Ministry THE SECRET THINGS JUDGMENT Ecclesiastes 12:14 “For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.” In this lesson on deliverance we are going to deal with a very interesting subject, the judgment of works. Notice how king Solomon puts the emphasis on the secret things and how they relate to the Day of judgment. So that we are all on the same page, let me first outline the perimeter of what we are talking about in this lesson. 2 Corinthians 5:10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” Paul sheds a great amount of light into what king Solomon was teaching. For in the New Testament we learn that there are two judgments, the final or general judgment, and what Paul calls the judgment seat of Christ. If you die in Christ, and by that I mean that you are saved and when you die you go straight to heaven, as it is written: 2 Corinthians 5:8 “...To be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” Then you must appear before the judgment seat of Christ, which is not a judgment of damnation but of rewards or the lack of them. When an unbeliever dies, he goes straight to Hades, which is a kind of an un-finalized hell, for the real hell is the burning lake of fire. Those who are in Hades will not be thrown into the lake of fire until after they face the final judgment, called the great white throne judgment. Which will not take place for at least another thousand years. Revelation 20:11-12 “Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.” The judgment that we are dealing with in this lesson is the judgment of the believers, for that is to whom I am writing this lesson for. So that if you are a believer you need to know how these secret things that will be revealed at the judgment seat of Christ after we die, can be dealt with in the here and now before we die, but first we need to know what they are and how they affect us. If you are not a believer yet, you can become one right now by simply repenting of all your sins and confessing before Jesus that you are a sinner and that you want Him to forgive you of all your sins, and if you truly mean it with your heart, Jesus will forgive you immediately and this lesson will apply to you as well. Now, that was simple! Now that the perimeters are established let us deal with the judgment of the believers. Why is there a judgment seat of Christ for us who believe? 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 “...But let each one take heed how he builds on it. For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day (of the judgment seat of Christ) will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss (lack of reward); but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.” Paul lays it out very clearly, since our salvation is a gift from God, and since the gifts of God are irrevocable: Romans 11:29 , we cannot lose our salvation. However we have the privilege to minister to others the free salvation that our Lord offers to all who believe, and as fellow ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ we become partakers of the rewards of serving Jesus Christ. Romans 8:16-17 “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.” From the time we got saved and for all the things we built our lives around on, we will have to give an account to God. If we live for our own selfish interests after we get saved, those things which we have accomplished will not survive the fire of the judgment Day anymore than wood, hay, or straw, can survive a raging fire storm. However, if we build our lives after we get saved around those things which are eternal, they, like gold, silver, and precious stones, will survive the fire of the Day of judgment and we will get a reward for them. How do I know which one of my deeds will survive the fire and which ones will not? Nothing that we do that flows out of our natural strength, our flesh, will ever survive the raging fire of the Day of judgment, as it is written: Romans 7:18 “For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find.” The only thing that will survive the fire of judgment is spiritual fruit, for the Spirit of the Lord is a consuming fire that will not consume Himself or His own fruit, as it was revealed to Moses at the burning bush. Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law (no law means no judgment).” That is what Paul meant when he said that in his flesh nothing good dwelled, he implied that only that which proceeded from the Spirit of God that was in him, and that saved him, is what counted. Galatians 5:25 “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” Now what about the secret things, what does it mean by secret things? The production of spiritual fruit in us and through us is hindered by those secret things in us that have not yet been exposed to the light of God’s judgment. What are these secret things? They are strongholds within our souls that are yet to be broken down by the Spirit of God, we may be aware of them or we may not, but until they are removed from us, those areas of our lives to which they are connected will not produce sufficient spiritual fruit, because of their hindrance. How can we know if there is a spiritual stronghold within us? Probably one of the easiest ways to know if there is a secret or hidden thing in our souls that is keeping us from producing spiritual fruit is to see which spiritual fruit in us its hindering. For example, let’s start with the first spiritual fruit, the fruit of love, and by asking these questions we will know if we have a stronghold that hinders the way that we are supposed to love: Is my love towards God hindered in any way? Do I love and accept myself the way that God does? Do I love others with the same intensity that I love my self? You’ll be surprised to know how many people have difficulties relating to God from a love perspective. And if we can truly love God, then how can we truly love ourselves, and if we have trouble loving and accepting ourselves, how can we be expected to love others and accept them as they are, for that is how God accepts us, as we are. If my ability to fully and completely love God, my self, and others is blocked, how do I remedy it? John 13:34 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” The Word of God reveals the intensity with which God loves us, as well as the perfection and steadfastness of His love for us. If you do not know God’s love for you is it because you do not know His Word. Jeremiah 23:29 “Is not My word like a fire? Says the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?” The Word of God is not only the hammer that breaks down the hidden strongholds within us, but is also the fire of judgment that cleanses and purifies us while in the here and now. If you have difficulties loving yourself or others, study the love of God revealed to us in His Word, accept it personally, and let it burn away deep within your soul the stains that soiled your soul when the love of others let you down. As it is written: Hebrews 13:5 “...For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’” Hebrews 12:29 “For our God is a consuming fire.” Jeremiah 31:3 “The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.” We can do the same with the rest of the fruit of the Spirit, if you lack joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, read how in the Word of God they all have been made available to us freely, but you have to swing the hammer and light the fire. We need to understand that before we enter into the joy of our Lord all these hindrances are going to be demolish at the judgment seat of Christ. But we do not need to wait until then, we can do it now, so that we are able to serve our King and Savior without hesitation or limitations. Yes, there will be a reward, but it's not the reward that really motivates me, I can just picture the joy in my Lord’s face when in a selfless act one of my actions causes one of His lost children to return home to Him. Oh, what a privilege it is to serve the One who loves me so much! Hate, fear, doubt, unbelief, are all the result of us not understanding the fullness of God’s love for us, why don’t you start there, in God’s love, take whatever hate remains in your soul and break it to pieces with the hammer of God’s Word, then set it on fire and let the wind of the Spirit of God remove it from you as far as the east is from the west. James 4:8 “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. The cure for double-mindedness is the surety of the promises that are found in the Word of God. Remember that the salvation of others may depend in you being able to break down some of the strongholds that keep you tied down today, if you can or won’t do it for yourself, will you do it for them? James 5:19-20 “Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.”
- THE FOUR PILLARS OF EVIL | hofm
Top of Page The Deliverance Ministry THE FOUR PILLARS OF EVIL Galatians 5:19-21 “Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you before hand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” All the works of the flesh are driven by selfish ambitions, the goal of the fruit of the Spirit which emanates from God’s love for us, is to deliver us from our bondage to the selfish desires of our flesh, so that we can walk under the fruit of self-control. Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness (meekness), self-control. Against such there is no law.” If you have already accepted the forgiveness of sins that the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross purchased for your salvation, then the Spirit of God is already within you, and you have been qualified to produce spiritual fruit, and you can be delivered from the strongholds in your life that are keeping you from walking under the fruit of self-control. Proverbs 11:9 “The hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous will be delivered.” Once we accepted Jesus as our Savior, we became born again, born of the Spirit of the Living God, what that means is that we were made righteous before God, but now we need to seek the goal of our faith, 1 Peter 1:9, which is to be delivered from the selfish ambitions/desires of our soul and learn how to walk after the Spirit of God by producing within us the fruit of self-control. Proverbs tells us that it is through knowledge that we are able to obtain deliverance once we have accepted Jesus as our Savior and Lord. What kind of knowledge is there that we need to know in order to be delivered from our earthly desires that keep our souls bound? We need to know and understand how the spirit of Selfish Ambition and the spirit of Self-Control operate, and how they influence our behavior. In our opening text, where the works of the flesh were enumerated, we see that there were a total of seventeen works that were mentioned, one of them, which I highlighted, is selfish ambitions. In order for us to best understand how our flesh operates, I took the liberty to classify the works of the flesh by their function when I wrote about them in my book The Liberation of the Human Soul, which you can find in the book’s section of the houseoffatihministries.org. I classified four of the works of the flesh as perversion, for that is what they aim to accomplish. I classified another four of the works of the flesh as division, since that is what they aim to accomplish as well. Another four I found to be part of what I called false religion, for their aim is to bind us into legalism and away from true faith. And the last four I defined as malfunction, for that is the aim of all of the works of the flesh, to get humanity to falter to the point where it becomes worthless and useless to God. So that through the manipulation of our selfish desires and ambitions the devil tries to hinder the believers from implementing God’s will and purpose in the earth. That is why our opening text says that: those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Romans 14:17 “For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” The kingdom of God is about producing spiritual fruit, and when we believe in a perversion of the truth, we open the door of our self or soul to the enemy to tempt us, who will then try to keep us from inheriting the kingdom of God by stifling our ability to produce spiritual fruit. PERVERSION 4 FALSE RELIGION SELFISH AMBITION DIVISION 4 1 4 MALFUNCTION 4 If you follow the chart above starting with perversion, you can see the progression of how the works of the flesh operate within us. The very first thing that the devil does is to try to pervert what we believe to be true by bringing the truth that we believe into question: did God really say? was the very first thing that the devil said that is recoded in the Bible. Once what we though to be true comes into question, immediately we become inwardly divided, we do not like uncertainty so we look for a way out, what we naturally end up doing is trying to reestablish our sense of the truth through natural means instead of faith, that always leads to religious rituals; if we do certain things or pray in a different way, then what we believed to be truth will be realized once again, we think; but remember that reliance on religion is a false way to go about searching for the truth, for it is written that without faith it is impossible to please God. So that we end up malfunctioning until the issued is settled. John 8:32 “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Here is how it works; Let’s say that you are a young adult and have your mother and father in your life, but out of nowhere the thought comes into your mind that they are not your real parents, at first you think of that thought as nonsense, but then memories come to mind that give some credence to the idea that maybe you were indeed adopted. You see, it does not matter whether you were really adopted or not, once you entertained that possibility, immediately your heart became divided, the equation of your relationship with your parents is forever altered. The first question that usually pops up is, If they are not my real parents, then who are my real parents? And then other questions follow, like, Where are they? Are they alive or dead? Why did they give me up? So that without a scintilla of facts our lives can be turned upside down in an instant, that is how the power of perversion works, and it works with the same power and in the same manner against anything that we believe to be true. So how do we deal with all of these new feelings and emotions? We try to reason our way out of them; we might say, If they are not my real parents at least they cared enough to adopt me. But the thought that they lied to you, or at least concealed the truth from you will not let you rest. So that the next time that you go and visit with your parents you will feel like your innocence was violated by them by not telling you the truth, and is now affecting your relationship with them to the point that is malfunctioning, for what else is there that they have hidden from you? What if your aunt, your mother’s sister, whom you have not seen in years, comes to visit and while you are all there, she begins to reminisce and starts telling you about when her sister, your mom, first told her that she was pregnant with you, and you can see them reliving that excitement of what they were going to name you is you were a boy, and just keep on talking about all those minute details of her pregnancy. The truth would immediately engulf you in such a liberating manner that you would feel so foolish that you even thought to doubt the truth that you had embraced for all your life. I used that long illustration to reveal to you how the truth of the Word of God can make you free. Satan is called the accuser of the brethren, and we are told that he accuses us before God day and night. Jesus is our advocate in God’s presence who is continuously covering us with His shed blood before God day and night as well. It is told of the saints in heaven that they overcame all the devil’s accusations with the blood of the Lamb and with the words of their testimonies. Revelation 12:10-11 “Then I hear a loud voice saying in heaven, ‘Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.’” What is the root of all the accusations that the devil is continuously hurling against us? Did God really say that He loves you? God speaks truth, the devil tries to cast doubts on our minds about God’s spoken truth, but ultimately we decide what it is that we are going to believe. It is not until we embrace the truth that God loves us no matter what, and that He will never leave us nor forsake us no matter what, that we will be made free indeed, for whomever the Son makes free is free indeed. We can do better than just barely getting by in our walk of faith, we need not fear failure, and we need not embrace mediocrity of faith. I dare you to find somewhere in the Bible where it says that God does not love us, or that He does not care for us, so why entertain the lies of the devil any longer? Let us receive the truth today that we are accepted in the beloved, who gave His life as ransom for us, who is our shield and our deliverer. Pray according to our next Scripture. Psalm 86:11 “Teach me Your way, O Lord; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name.” The truth of the Word of God will unite your heart in such a manner that you will have no need of rituals or dead religions to rely upon, for the foundation of God’s truth is an unmovable foundation that will carry you out of whatever hell the devil throws your way. What is the word of your testimony today friend?
