Then the Lord said to me, ‘Call his name Maher-Shal’al-Hash-Baz.’” Top of Page MAHER-SHAL’AL-HASH-BAZ Isaiah 8:3 “Then I went to the prophetess, and she conceived and bore a son. Then the Lord said to me, ‘Call his name Maher-Shal’al-Hash-Baz.’” I bet you are wandering what that name means, don’t worry is on the margin of my Bible, here what the meaning of this name is: Speed the Spoil, Hasten the Booty! There is a tremendous insight into what is going on today and what went on in the days of Isaiah concerning Israel’s disobedience to the Word of God. The key to look for here is found in the two opening verses. Isaiah 8:1-2 “Moreover the Lord said to me, ‘Take a large scroll, and write on it with a man’s pen concerning Maher-Shal’al-Hash-Baz. And I will take for Myself faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest and Zechariah the son of Jeberechi’ah.” What the Lord is doing here is taking a solemn oath, in regards to something that He is going to do here on the earth, and He commands Isaiah to get a large scroll and to write on it with a man’s pen, that is in clearly understood human language, and God even summons to Himself two witnesses that will testify, that this is what the Lord said that he was going to do, after it has come to pass just as the Lord said it would. Within the context of Isaiah’s day, it had to do with the invasion of Samaria by Assyria, now Samaria was the capital of Israel at that time when Israel was divided into two nations, Israel and Judah. Now this prophecy does not concern Judah for God will protect them at this time from the king of Assyria, but it is interesting that God includes in His prophecy the city of Damascus as well. Now why is this so important to us in our present day? 1 Corinthians 10:11 “Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.” So that God is clearly teaching us through the past examples of the saints of old, the unfolding of what we see going on today in regards to God’s prophetic words, and the surety of their fulfillment. Let us first begin with the name by which God calls the son of the prophetess on verse three: Speed the Spoil, Hasten the Booty. What prophecy has God uttered that has not yet been fulfilled, that deals with a foreign nation being drawn speedily, or suddenly, against the nation of Israel for the sake of gaining spoil and booty? Ezekiel 38:13 “Sheba, Dedan, the merchants of Tarshish, and all their young lions will say to you, ‘Have you come to take plunder? Have you gathered your army to take booty, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to take great plunder?’” This yet to be fulfilled end time prophecy refers to the Russian nation of our present day, which will lead a confederacy of nations against the nation of Israel at the end of days, and the reason why they are doing it, is very clearly laid out in our preceding verse of Scripture. In the oath that God took on Isaiah 8 : He also includes the city of Damascus, today’s Syrian capital , as spoil to be gained by them as well. Isaiah 8:4 “For before the child shall have knowledge to cry ‘My father’ and ‘My mother,’ the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria will be taken away before the king of Assyria.” Let’s see if we can put together how this ancient prophecy relates to our current geo-political situation. Here is what we know: From Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39 , we know with certainty that it will be our present day Russia the nation that will lead this invasion of Israel. Just let me give you a couple of verses for those of you who may not be aware of this declaration that God fore-ordained for our end of time. Ezekiel 38:2-4 “Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him, and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal. I will turn you around, put hooks into your jaws, and lead you out, with all your army, horses, and horsemen, all splendidly clothed, a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords.’” Just like in the days of Isaiah the prophet, when God brought the king of Assyria against the nation of Israel to fulfill His fore-ordained plan, He will do so as well during the end to days, when He will bring this Russian confederacy against the nation of Israel to fulfill His desire to reveal Himself to the nations of the world, as He delivers Israel from the hands of their many enemies as in days of old. Ezekiel 39:7-8 “So I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel, and I will not let them profane My holy name anymore. Then the nations shall know that I am the Lord, the Holy One in Israel. Surely it is coming, and it shall be done, says the Lord God. This is the day of which I have spoken.” Now in Isaiah’s prophecy God took for Himself two faithful witnesses that would declare to the nation of Israel as well as to the nations of the world, what verse eight clearly spells out: This is the day of which I have spoken! And the reason why the nation of Israel will not profane the Lord’s name anymore at that time, is because after the Lord destroys the Russian confederacy that comes against them, He will send them the Two Witnesses who will not only place the nation of Israel under God’s law, but the rest of the nations of the world as well. Imagine that! The high courts of the nations of the world which declare that it is legal to kill innocent unborn babies through the practice of abortion will be told by the Two Witnesses that it is not! For such a hideous practice violates the law of God: Psalm 127:3 “Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is His reward.” KJV And if these nations decide to live by their own laws and willfully disobey God’s commandments, then they will be punished severally for their disobedience by the Two Witnesses, for it will be their job to enforce God’s law upon all the peoples of the earth. Revelation 11:5-6, 10 “And if anyone wants to harm them (the Two Witnesses), fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies. And if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this manner. These (Two Witnesses) have power to shut heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy; and they have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they desire...And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them (when they are killed after their prophetic reign ends after 1,260 days), make merry, and send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.” So, what have we learned so far? Let me see if we can put all these things into their proper perspective utilizing our opening text on Isaiah 8: We have Israel and Damascus as the bait that will draw the Russian bear into God’s end of days trap. It is not a coincidence that Russia is heavily invested in today’s Syria, for even after the nations of the world demanded that the Syrian president resign after he used chemical weapons on his own people, Russia did not back off in their full support for Assad’s regime, instead they increased their armaments delivery and found a way to legitimize this cruel dictator so that he can stay in power. Now why Israel? What is the spoil and where is the booty that they can gain from an invasion of Israel? There is a lot more at stake here than gold and silver and oil, there is a great amount of political capital to be had if they play their cards right. It is painfully clear to many that the present strategy of the United States government is to lead from behind, which is a misnomer, for it really means not to lead at all, for all that this strategy creates is a vacuum of leadership that the likes of Putin would not mind filling up right away. In Isaiah’s prophetic context we are told that before the child of the prophetess is able to have knowledge of who his mother and father are, that the spoils will be gone. To me that means that before people even realize what is going on prophetically, it will be too late, for the vacuum would have already been filled. If the lesser nations of the world come to the conclusion that a power shift is taking place, as many of them are already realizing, then it is to their advantage to align themselves within the orb of this new emerging power, if it is to their own advantage of course. If Russia wanted to endear themselves to a majority of the nations of the world, the destruction and removal of the nation of Israel would play right into the hands of not only many of the Islamic nations, but some of the western nations as well, who privately hate Israel with a passion. As a matter of fact, the nations that join this Russian confederacy against Israel according to Ezekiel’s list in Ezekiel 38, many are Islamic nations today, Persia tops the list of these followers which is today’s Iran, they are continuously calling for the nation of Israel to be driven into the sea. We can honestly say that the might of the Unites States and what we might have done, is what kept Russia from even thinking of invading the nation of Israel in the past, but all of that is now changing rapidly. For even is the midst of the present power grab by Russia in the Ukraine, the United States government is warning Israel to reach an agreement with their enemies or else. I can say with confidence that the child of the prophetess has been born, and his name is Maher-Shal’al-Hash-Baz, Speed the Spoil, Hasten the Booty. I can also say with confidence that the bear of the north woods got his scent, and though he might try to resist the temptation of going after this child, if This is the day of which I (God) have spoken, this hungry bear will not be able to resist the bait that is in the hook of God Almighty. Isaiah 8:6-7 “Inasmuch as these people refused the waters of Shiloah that flow softly...Now therefore, behold, the Lord brings up over them the waters of the River, strong and mighty…” Has any nation ever that was called by God to do His purpose here on earth gotten away with their sin of rebelling against doing His will? I am utterly amazed how anywhere that I look in Scripture, how I see the present unfolding just as it was told by the prophets of old it would be. Although we may not have much of a say about what our nation does or about what it fails to do, we do know that our God is a personal God, and that is why He sent His Word personally to save us from our sins, Jesus, His only begotten Son. Isaiah 8:11 “For the Lord spoke thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people…” This is our walk, looking for that blessed hope, that when He appears we will be with Him forevermore, no matter what! House of Faith Ministries (HoFM) presents a teaching on 1 Corinthians 1:19 “For it is written: ‘I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.’” Top of Page THE AWAKENING 1 Corinthians 1:19 “For it is written: ‘I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.’” The twentieth century witnessed the unleashing of man’s ingenuity in such a remarkable way that life as it existed for thousands of years was radically changed forever. I could say, and not be too far off, that in the twentieth century, we, speaking of the human race, became of age. I have neither the desire nor the abilities to enumerate all the history, discoveries, and events that came together to make the twentieth century such a pivotal time in human history; from the industrial revolution to two world wars, to the splitting of the atom, and the space race that lead us into the technological age of cyber space, but I know that in all of this, God’s final plan for the human race was being intelligently crafted by divinity in accordance with what the prophets of old had foretold. Daniel 12:4 “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” Nothing happens on the earth unless it is first released from heaven. It does not matter how wise and learned men of old were, or how dedicated to their crafts, or how many resources they had available to them, if it was sealed in heaven, all of their human endeavors did not suffice. After Jesus rose from the dead and was taken up to heaven, He took possession of a scroll that contained written things within and on the back, that had been sealed with seven seals. Revelation 5:3 “And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it.” It seems that only an immortal human of divine origin, one who could save and make other humans immortal like Himself, was qualified to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals, since its unveiling unleashes upon the human race the symphony of events that eventually propels God’s final judgments upon all human mortals. The first seal was loosed right after Jesus took possession of the scroll after arriving in heaven, it released the spirit of antichrist upon the world stage. The antichrist himself will not be revealed until that which hinders him from being revealed is removed. 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 “For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work (the spirit of antichrist has already been released); only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one (the antichrist in person) will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.” The second seal was loosed from heaven during the twentieth century and that is what brought about the second world war and the technological breakthroughs that ensued. Revelation 6:3-4 “When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, ‘Come and see.’ Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth (world war II), and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword (technology).” You can probably trace the origin of many, if not most, of the technological advancements of today to the events leading to and surrounding the second world war, for that is when the unveiling of the second seal took place, according to the divine plan. If we tie the first two seals together, we get the antichrist type leading the world into a colossal war that increases human knowledge to levels not even dreamed of by the preceding generation. Revelation 6:5-6 “When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, ‘Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, ‘A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.’” The results of the first two seals opened the door for a new world order, something that has been the unreachable dream of the elite world luminaries for centuries, but with this open door their dreams of a revived roman empire that rules the world has become a very possible reality. In order to facilitate a one world government, they need to have a one world economy, and to achieve that they need to implement a one world financial system that regulates the world economy; according to the golden rule, he who has the gold, makes the rules. Revelation 13:17 “And that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” We are in the midst of the unveiling of the third seal right now, it is taking place before our very eyes. All the pieces are falling rapidly into place awaiting the unveiling of the fourth seal that will feature a war over one fourth of the earth, the invasion of Israel by a northern confederacy. Israel is the last obstacle that stands between them, those who think they own the earth, and their dreams of declaring earth’s independence from the rule of God. It is all spiritual, since Satan was thrown out of heaven he has been looking for a place to call home; the earth belongs to the Lord, but man has been given dominion over it, the devil has duped, through the spirit of pride, those who think they can run the earth better than God, through the agency of human intelligence, for they truly think that they know better than God how to run the earth. 1 Corinthians 1:30 “But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption.” All the spirits know that if you are going to rule the world you have to do it through the agency of a human man, that is why the Word of God had to become flesh, in order to infuse into humanity’s mind the wisdom that comes from God, the wisdom that redeems, sets apart for God, and makes right with God those who choose allegiance with God. Revelation 13:2 “...The dragon gave him (a human being, the antichrist) his power, his throne, and great authority.” The spiritual battle that rages now in the heavens will be fought here on the earth by the human Son of God who is indwelled by the Spirit of the living God against the spirit of Satan, the dragon, that will one day be revealed in the human antichrist. It will be a one sided battle: Whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. This is the truth that brings the awakening, and it is what the first chapter of first Corinthians is all about, whose wisdom are you going to trust? 1 Corinthians 1:20 “Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?” How did God make foolishness out of the wisdom of this world? He told them ahead of time what was going to happen, when it was going to happen, and how it was going to happen. Nothing happened without His hand allowing it to happen first. These empty headed illustrators really think that they’ve actually thought of all these things and that they have created by the power of their own intellectual prowler. 1 Corinthians 1:21 “For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.” Imagine the simplicity of the message that was preached confounded the wisdom of the wise and brings to us an awakening to the revelation of what God is doing in our present time. 1 Corinthians 1:25-26 “Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.” And here is the reason why God does it this way. 1 Corinthians 1:29 “That no flesh should glory in His presence.” I believe that we are now ready to experience the great spiritual awakening that the prophets of old predicted for the last days. Humanity has been sold a bill of goods that predicted that man’s salvation was going to come as the result of technological advances. Knowledge is power, in God’s case, knowledge of Him and of His Word brings liberty to those who live and practice His Word. Knowledge of the populace in the hands of the world gives the world the power to enslave the masses. Everything about us today is known to the government, and that knowledge has been used already to deprive many Americans of their constitutional rights. But the majority of that knowledge awaits for the restraining power to be removed, as prophesied by Paul, so that it can be used to coerce, intimidate, and blackmail law abiding citizens into conformance with their new world order. Top of Page Top of Page 2020 to 2030: THE DECADE OF DESTINY Song of Solomon 6:10 “Who is she who looks forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, awesome as an army with banners?” This is how the Beloved sees His perfect bride, the church of His delight, whom He is coming soon to rescue. There is an extremely high probability that this coming decade will see the rapture of the church before the decade is over, ushering in the seven years long dreaded Day of the Lord, before the thousand years reign of Christ is established upon the earth. 2 Peter 3:10 “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night…” Many Christians believe that since no one can know with certainty when the rapture will take place that we should not be looking intently for the coming of this blessed event. 1 Thessalonians 5:4-6 “But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day (the Day of the Lord) should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light (as the morning/clear as the sun) and sons of the day. We are not of the night or of darkness (we should not be clueless). Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.” We may not know with certainty when the resurrection of the righteous saints, which is followed immediately by the rapture of the righteous church will take place, but we do have plenty of biblical sings that will point us to the knowledge that its coming is eminent. We are to watch soberly for the signs that will point us to that faithful day! So that it does not take us by surprise. Mark 13:29 “So you also, when you see these things happening (signs that will precede the rapture of the church), know that it is near—at the doors!” The early church believed that the rapture of the church would take place in their day and eagerly waited for that event in their lifetime. After the apostolic age many of the disciples of the apostles realized that the day of the Lord would be revealed on the third day and that each day represented a thousand years. They based their belief on the following Scriptures: Psalm 90:4 “For a thousand years in Your sight are like yesterday when it is past, and like a watch in the night.” 2 Peter 3:8 “But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” For that reason many expected that at the beginning of our third millennium something radical would happen, which it did not, remember Y2K? That is because the thousand year’s day did not begin with the birth of Jesus Christ but rather with His death and resurrection which happened thirty three years after His birth. The age of God’s grace began to be proclaimed to the entire world after the church was filled with the promised of the Father, the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 24:14 “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” What is it that makes this 2020-30 decade so critical that something radical has to take place in it? There is a very precise promise in the Old Testament concerning the end of the second day (two thousand years) and the beginning of the third day (the millennium reign of Jesus Christ). Hosea 6:2 “After two days He will revive us (resurrection); on the third day He will raise us up, that we might live (kingdom age) in His sight.” If we believe that a day represents a thousand years for the church age, and that the church age begun after the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead; then according to Hosea, the resurrection and the rapture will happen at the end of the second day or at the end of two thousand years from when the church was commissioned! And the third day—or one thousand years—will begin the reign of Jesus Christ, after the seven Years Day of the Lord is completed. We do not know with certainty what year Jesus was born; we know that He was crucified thirty-three and a half years after He was born. The church was commissioned fifty days after Jesus rose from the dead, but we do not know the exact year. Jesus was probably born on the year two BC, give or take a couple of years. If He was born two years before our present calendar, and you count the year zero as a year, then Jesus was crucified and rose from the dead on the year 30 AD and the church was commissioned fifty days after Jesus rose from the dead on the year 30 AD; as I said, give or take two or three years. This is the most crucial time in the history of the church, for if the resurrection and rapture do not take place before the end of this 20-30 decade, then we as the church, will have to take a long hard look at the Scriptures upon which most of our premises for His return are based. The signs that precede the return of the Lord to the earth will let us know that the time is near. Acts 2:17-18 “And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.” After a big whirlwind attracted thousands to the Upper Room, where the disciples were gathered and this large crowd wondered what it could mean that tongues of fire were resting on about one hundred and twenty of the disciple’s heads. Hearing them prophesying the wonders of God in their own foreign languages, Peter stood up and told the crowd that prophecy was being fulfilled in front of their very eyes. The first half of this prophecy that we just quoted, signaled the birth of the church age as the Spirit of God filled them with power and the wonders of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:19-21 “I will show wonders in heaven above and signs in the earth beneath: blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord (This part has not happened yet). And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” The first half of this prophecy applied to the birth or beginning of the church age, and was fulfilled almost two thousand years ago, when three thousand believers were added to the church. And the second half of this prophecy will be fulfilled at the end of the church age, before the church is taken up in the rapture after which the feared and dreadful Day of the Lord will begin. Matthew 24:29-31 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light (this represents the end of the church age; remember our opening Scripture, the sun and moon refer to the church age: Fair as the moon, clear as the sun Son of Solomon 6:10) ; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” (Italics added by me) Immediately after the tribulation of those days: Jesus told His church that in this world we would have tribulation; at the end of the church age there will be no more tribulation for the church of Jesus Christ, for we will be gathered with the Lord in our new and glorified bodies. Amos 5:20 “Is not the day of the Lord darkness and not light? Is it not very dark, with no brightness in it?” Light represents God’s grace—demonstrated through His church while on this earth—and darkness represents God’s judgment after the light of the church is removed from this earth! It is imperative to understand that the Day of the Lord is the Day when God’s Wrath is unleashed against all the inhabitants of the earth, all those who refused to accept His free offer of Grace. It is a Day indeed of great tribulation, the kind that has never been experienced before, but it comes from God against humanity. The tribulation that the church is experiencing today comes not from God, but from those in the world who reject the kingdom of God. So that in this present world the church is experiencing tribulation from those who practice evil in this world. But immediately after the church is removed, the Day of the Lord—which is the Day of His Wrath—will begin against all those who are left behind in the world. If we interpret these Scriptures literally; as we should when possible, we will learn that before the rapture takes place, we will witness the powers of the heavens been shaken. What will be the duration of these signs before the rapture takes place? We can only estimate according to the Scriptures. Jesus tells us that these last days will be like the days of Noah. Since that is the case, Noah and his family knew seven days ahead of time that the deluge was imminent. Genesis 7:4-5 “For after seven more days I will cause it to rain on the earth forty days and forty nights, and I will destroy from the face of the earth all living things that I have made. And Noah did according to all that the Lord commanded him.” When Jesus told us that the end time would be like the days of Noah, many think that it means that there is no way to know when the end is coming; but that only applies to the unbelievers and to those who do not prepare themselves. But for the believers who are awake and discerning the signs and times of the end, and are looking for and loving His appearing, we will recognize the signs: When you see these things happening, know that it is near—at the doors!” The Bible many times confirms Scriptures by the use of numbers. Fifty days after Jesus rose from the dead, the Holy Spirit fell on about one hundred and twenty names: Acts 1:15. Peter quoted the prophecy of Joel which spoke of the beginning and of the end of the church age. The beginning represented by the number when it begun; on the fiftieth day—Pentecost. The end represented by the number one hundred and twenty which represents the end of an age, as in the days of Noah when God put a limit of 120 years to the world that was, as the ark was been built, before the deluge came and took them all away on the one hundred and twentieth year. What is interesting about the number one hundred and twenty is that it is about the amount of days between Pentecost and the Day of Atonement. And ten days before the Day of Atonement we have the feast of Rosh Hashanah which marks the beginning of the Days of awe which are ten. Chances are that the Days of Awe will be the days when the signs are given to mankind, to get them to repent and to call upon the name of the Lord and be saved before the judgment Day. And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. 1 Peter 3:20-21 “Who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited (one hundred and twenty years) in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.” What is an antitype? For one hundred and twenty years the ark was built, but it was not big enough to save all those who perished during the flood had they repented or if they repented. 2 Peter 2:5 “And did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly.” The building of the ark was the sermon that Noah preached; Death by water! Death was coming by a flood, and it required their repentance and death before the flood came in order to be saved. Methuselah, the oldest man who ever lived, died the year of the flood, but before the flood came. How do we know? Methuselah means: when he is dead it shall come: the flood. Did all who repented die before the judgment of God came by the flood? There was definitely no room in the ark for all of them! Methuselah may be a type that those who repented, after hearing Noah’s preaching, were removed from the earth through natural death, and spared God’s judgment. Isaiah 57:1 “The righteous perishes (dies), and no man takes it to heart; merciful men are taken away, while no one considers that the righteous is taken away from (the judgment of) evil.” That was clearly the case for Methuselah, and probably as a type, for all those who like Methuselah repented and were removed by way of death before the flood judgment begun. The antitype is that there is enough room for all of us who repent in this present day ark of God, His church, to be saved and spare from the judgment to come. Ironically it is through water baptism that we testify, and with a good conscience, that we will be removed from this world before the dreadful Day of the Lord is unleashed upon an unsuspecting world. Revelation 3:8, 10 “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name...Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.” If you believe that the sixty-six books of our Holy Bible are the Inspired Word of God, and if you believe that Jesus is the divine Son of God, and have accepted Jesus as your personal Savior and Lord, then you will not be left behind. The hour of testing does not apply to those who have already entered into His rest! Hebrews 4:3, 9 “For we who have believed do enter that rest…There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.” Before the Day of God’s wrath begins, God is going to try and save as many people as possible, from as many parts of the world as possible. 2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” Jesus is going to return to the earth the same way that He was taken up, in a cloud, and visible to all those who were gazing intently as He was taken up into glory. (6) Acts 1:10-11 “And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, ‘Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.’” So that the return of Jesus to this world is not going to be a secret thing, is going to be a very public event, visible to everyone on this entire planet, contrary to what many have taught. Matthew 24:25-27 “See, I have told you beforehand. Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” It is within the context of the verses that we just read—that the return of our Lord is a worldwide event like lightning flashing from the east to the west, so His brightness will light up the entire atmosphere—that we are told in the following verses that before the sign of the Son of Man appears in heaven: the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light as confirmation that the church of Jesus Christ is about to be removed from this earth and taken up to the clouds to be with the Lord forever and ever. 2 Timothy 4:8 “Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.” Paul is speaking about resurrection day, and the crown of righteousness refers to his new and glorified body that our Lord will give him on that faithful Day. Not just to him, but to all who have loved His appearing and have died with this blessed hope as an anchor to their souls. And as we well know, those of us who are alive and remain will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air with our glorified bodies as well, immediately after the resurrection. This may be the final decade of life as we know it in this planet earth, make sure you are ready; and remember, God wants you to bring with you all your love ones and friends who are not saved as well. Let your life shine as a witness to them. So that when that Day comes they will believe your testimony and call upon the Lord and be saved. House of Faith Ministries (HoFM) explains there there is a difference between let’s say, teaching others about the Word of God, which all of us should do, and being called to fill the office of teacher of the Word of God. Top of Page THE APOSTOLIC ANOINTING 2 Corinthians 12:12 “Truly the signs of an apostle were accomplished among you with all perseverance, in signs and wonders and mighty deeds.” There are five distinct offices to which ministers are called by God to fill, as they endeavor to minister to the saints, that differ from the call that all of us saints have to minister to the Lord by ministering to one another in service to one another, and by going out and preaching the Gospel and making disciples. Ephesians 4:11 “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers.” A saint can choose to minister to the Lord in the many areas of service that are opened to us; we can choose to be witnesses for Him, we can choose to mentor new born again believers, we can choose to serve those who are in need within the church or outside of the church, we can choose to make our light show in whatever situation we choose. But there is a difference between let’s say, teaching others about the Word of God, which all of us should do, and being called to fill the office of teacher of the Word of God. The same goes for evangelizing, we can all go out and witness to others by telling them about their need to be saved, and all of us are called to do that, as it is written; Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, but we are not all called to fill the office of an evangelist. The same applies for pastors, caring and tending for the sheep is something that we are all called to do, but not all are called to fill the office of pastor. We are all in essence prophets every time that we quote the Word of God to others, for in reality we are prophesying to them by telling them that this is what God said, but not all are called to sit in the office of prophet. What is the difference? Let’s say that a terrible accident happens and somebody gets injured in a public place, the call immediately goes out, Is there a doctor in the house? At that point it does not matter what the doctor’s specialty is, all is needed is someone who is familiar with the human anatomy and who knows how to treat it, in the absence of a medical doctor even a dentist will do, even if the injury is on the foot, for all that is needed at that point is someone who can stop the bleeding and who can help to keep the injured person from dying. So that in the sense of ministry, we all should be general practitioners; when it comes to leading others to the Lord, we should all be prepared; when it comes to ministering to the needs of others, we should all be ready; when it comes to teaching them from God’s Word, all of us should know about the Scriptures that are able to save them. How do we learn all of that, and how do we prepare ourselves? Ephesians 4:12-13 “For the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” The fivefold ministry and those who are called to sit in those offices, are charged with the solemn duty of preparing and training the saints of the church of God for the work of ministry. Since God knows the future, and since He also knows that the needs of man change along with their circumstances, He foresaw the need of having ministers in His church that understand that the Holy Spirit always moves to optimize the resources of the church in the manner in which it is most effective. So that His anointing flows through those offices to bring about the changes that are necessary, by revealing the counsel to the churches that will prepare them to overcome whatever situations they are facing, with a message that is specifically tailored for their area of ministry. A minister that sits in the office of pastor for example, will receive through the anointing that is in the office that he fills, the guidance that is needed to better fulfill his calling, as long as he remains faithful to the anointing by not turning away to man made schemes, those who sit under his ministry will benefit from the anointing that flows from that pastor’s ministry for the betterment of their service. In my many years of service to the Lord, I’ve witness great teachers and great pastors that flowed with the anointing, and marveled how the Lord’s wisdom was able to move in whatever situation those who were ministering were faced with, to the point of astonishment, as to how the Lord worked His way in whatever difficulty they were facing, and as I asked the Lord where their anointing emanated from, it was always revealed to me that the anointing flows out of the office they held. We sometimes make the mistake that because a pastor, a teacher, an evangelist, or a prophet that flows with the anointing that their respective offices enable them with, that because they excel at their specialty, that because of that, that we can also trust their counsel when it comes to an office that they do not hold, and for which their anointing has not prepared them. I’ve seen great teachers fail as pastors and great pastors fail at teaching, and I’ve seen some do fairly well as both, but I can always recognize where their true allegiance is by what they say, for you cannot take a true pastor out of leading the sheep, anymore than you can take a true teacher from him teaching the flock, or a true evangelist from having an altar call, and a true prophet from prophesying Thus says the Lord! But if the fivefold ministry were a hand, the apostles would be the thumb, for the other four are heavily dependent upon it in order to function properly. If we truly want to understand what preaching, teaching, evangelizing, and prophesying is all about, then we need to understand what the true apostolic ministry is all about. Ephesians 2:20 “Having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone.” The church of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was not erected on a foundation of human philosophy, or out of a need for a human agency that exists for the betterment of society and the refinement of the masses that would somehow bring about a human utopia on this earth. 1 John 3:8 “...For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” Preaching, teaching, evangelizing, and prophesying that does not have the goal of destroying the works of the devil that flow out of the kingdom of darkness, misses the mark. The church was not put on this earth to conform to this world system, but to confront it, and expose it for what it is, the works of the devil. Jesus told us, I will build My church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. Where did Jesus build His church? Right here on the earth! Where are the gates of hell? Right here on the earth! Any ministry, whether it falls under the office of pastor, teacher, evangelist, or prophet, if it does not have the destruction of the works of the devil as its main goal, then it is not flowing under the Holy Spirit’s anointing, for that was the very reason for which the church was established, to stand up against the gates of hell and to bring about the destruction of all the works of the devil through the power of the Holy Spirit’s anointing. Ephesians 3:10-11 “To the intent that now the manifold (fivefold ministry) wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.” This was always God’s plan for the church and will always continue to be; to challenge, to expose, to eradicate, and to destroy the works of Satan upon this earth! We are not here to mix and to mingle with other religions, Christianity is not a religion, Christianity is a kingdom, a kingdom that is not of this world, a kingdom that Jesus Christ, the King of kings is coming soon to establish, this should be the testimony of all Christian ministries. 1 Timothy 6:12-15 “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontious Pilate, that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing, which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords.” In Matthew 27:11 Pilate asked Jesus, Are You the King of the Jews? Jesus said to him, It is as you say. Jesus did not, in anyway shape or form, dilute His testimony about who He was and what He came to do, even in the face of death, and while being confronted by His accusers. His testimony is the apostolic anointing upon which our faith rests, and from where all other ministerial offices draw of the true anointing. Is this the testimony that the ministry that your are under proclaims? If you are in ministry, is this the testimony of your ministry? If it is not, is it because of lack of knowledge or fear of persecution? Receive right now Paul’s prayer for you and for your ministry.
