Let's open up in a word of prayer first today. Father God, we thank you for your word and we pray that your word does not return void. We pray that the audience who listens to this word has an open mind and heart to receive and believe in your word and to apply your word to their lives to have an understanding that you provide for us through your word. I pray that your holy spirit speaks to their hearts and minds through this message that you move me aside. Let your holy spirit speak through me and articulately and perfectly. Thank you, Father God, for your living word. We praise you and honor you in the name of Jesus. Amen. Amen. Amen. I welcome each and every one of you. Today I'm going to begin a new series. I took last week off and uh we we had some celebrations of birthdays and family events and did some traveling there. So now I'm back and we're gonna begin a new series called Women in the Bible. Now men, don't jump ship yet. This is just as much for you as it is for women. Especially this particular first message that we're going to talk about. We're going to be starting with Eve. Now, I can teach on Eve at least three parts that I have just in the top of my head. But today, we're going to talk about Eve, and we're going to be talking about being born again. You're going to see the message of being born again from the very beginning to when Jesus was crucified to the time that we live today. Amen. So, this is an awesome word. So, let's begin. So, women of the Bible, this is the first message in that series and we're going to talk about Eve and we're going to be talking about being born again. We're going to start here in Genesis 1:27. Uh I'm in the King James version. So God created man or the word man there also means self in his own image. The word image there means to shade or be a phantom in the image of God plural gods. That's what this word god means. Created he him male and female created he them. So let's lay a little bit of foundation here so that you understand what's taking place here. So there are two books of the Bible that are attacked the most. Genesis and Revelation. Satan had attacked them so much that a lot of people don't believe in creation. A lot of people don't believe uh that the Lord created the earth in six days and rested on the seventh. They they try to extrapulate what they believe science to be true and try to fit it or force it into the scriptures. The scriptures are very very clear. And um it it is really unfortunate to not have enough pastors and teachers and preachers doing apologetics in the book of Genesis and the book of Revelation. So I truly uh encourage you to check your teachings that you're listening to. Do you hear anyone teaching on Genesis or Revelation? If so, great. If not, you may need to supplement because you need to know the beginning. If you know the beginning, it's going to help you with today. And you're going to see that in this message is really incredible. So here we have Eve. She is the first woman of the Bible. She is the mother of all. So she is a created person just like Adam. The difference is that Adam was created of the earth and Eve was formed from the rib of a man. So let's go to the scripture. Now I before I dig into that, let's look at this deep part of this particular scriptures of what God is saying. He says created man self. This is God's self in us. Please understand that we're in his image. So his self is in us. Now look at how he did this. In his own image, in the image of God. He's multiple parts created. He him male and female. He created them. Listen, there's some revelation here. We know God as male and we see that he is represented as male throughout the entire scripture. So when you see gods or plural, we know that there is the godhead. God the father, God the son, God the holy spirit. Yes, the word trinity is not in the Bible. But the word trinity means the godhead. And you can see the structure. It is biblical. It is in the word of God. So we know that God the father we you see him treated as a male. You know God the son that became Jesus that is male. He was born a man. So here you've got that representation. Now look what he says though. He says in the image of God created he him. Now there's something to that too because we're doing a transliter uh King James version does a transliteration of the original text. he him of the parts of he and him. But then look at what he says here next. Male and female created he them. So in other words, when he created Adam, Adam cannot be by himself. Adam cannot make life by himself. He cannot procreate without woman. So you have to have male and female in order to procreate and create life. If all men were by themselves in one generation, the earth would die. That's how this works. Same with all women. If you had all women, because you do not have that sperm to procreate life, the earth would die in one generation. So, male and female. Now, let's look at how God created the image, how they put together that fulfills the image of God because it is male and female and they were created differently. So, let's go look at that. So here Adam was created. Let's go to Genesis 2:7. And the Lord God formed through and the word formed there means through the squeezing into shape man of the dust. That word dust means earth or mud of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. And man became a living soul. Existed as a living soul. That's how Adam was created. He was formed by the dirt, the earth, the mud and the ground. That's how God decided to make him. And then he breathed into his nostrils and he became alive in existence a soul, a living creature sensient. Okay. Now let's look at how Eve was made. So Genesis 2:21-24. And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept and he took one of his ribs. Now the word rib there means a part of or the side curved part of the body and closed up the flesh instead thereof. And the rib which the Lord God had taken from man made he a woman and brought her unto man. And Adam said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. She shall be called woman because she was taken out of man. Therefore shall a man leave loose in his father and his mother and shall cleave or cling adhere catch unto his wife and they shall be one flesh." Now let's look at this. So Adam was made from the dirt of the earth. So here's God and he makes Adam directly straight from the dirt of the earth. But instead of making woman from this uh dirt of the earth, he goes and puts man in his sleep and he takes one of the ribs. Notice he didn't take a piece of Adam's brain. So she is not equal in the head. He did not take a part of his foot. So she can be equal to his footing or his standing or he you know there's no dominion over or Adam dominion over Eve. There is no dominion because it wasn't taken by the feet either. Took it from the rib. What does the rib do? The rib cage encases all of our vital organs. So he took from the edge of it which is where it sits at the bottom left hand side under the heart. He takes that rib and he forms woman. What does that mean? Well, man can put his arm around woman and she could be tucked in here next to his heart. He covers her. He protects her and she protects him because of the rib that is what protects the vital parts. She protects him on the inside and they become one flesh. So when God looks at a married couple, he sees one individual, not two individuals. He sees male and female. And by the way, that completes the image of God because God is plural. So he embedded the pluraless into us, male and female. And then what do we get to do as a blessing? We get to procreate and have children and expand and populate the earth is what we have the privilege of doing. So Eve was made for this purpose and every woman since is made for this p purpose. Now, when we get into this series, you're going to see some women who fulfilled that purpose very well, and you're going to see some who did not. And hopefully, we can learn from their examples of what they did and and the impact that they had on generations after they were existed. Amen. That's why I want to do this series. Oh, it's so good. Now, let's go a little further here because let's talk about the birthing process here because I want to get into being born again and show you how Jesus works in this. So, when a woman ha gives birth, first comes the water. The water breaks, the baby comes. What comes second or the third after the baby is the placenta sack or the blood sack. This is the blood that fulfilled and u met all the needs of the embryo, the fetus, the child within the womb. So you have water and you have blood. Now where does Jesus come into this? Let's go to John 1:1 real quick. In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. So when Jesus when if you read Genesis 1:1 and you see the spirit of God hovering over the waters of the earth, Jesus is the one who said, "Let there be light and there was life." Jesus is the one who created Adam. Jesus is the power that did all of this creation and he created Eve out of the rim. This is what Jesus did. Now, what is going on here? What is happening here? Because Jesus is demonstrating something in the creation of his image between male and female and procreating. So, let's look at a conversation that Jesus has in his time with Nicodemus. So, we're going to go to John 3 3-6. Jesus answered and said unto him, talking to Nicodemus, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born, procreate again, he cannot see or know the kingdom of God." Nicodemus sayaith unto him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb and be born?" Jesus answered, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the spirit, he cannot enter the into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the spirit is spirit." Now remember the physical birth involved water and blood. Jesus is saying now I am going to tell you it needs to be water and the spirit to be born again. So how does this work? So the wa the living word of God is the water. And so when you immerse yourself into the living word of God, you become born again because you when you confess Jesus, Romans 10:9 says that if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. I've been teaching on this for a long time. So now what happens is he says you cannot enter the kingdom of God unless you're born with water and the spirit. What is the kingdom of God? What did Jesus do when he was walking in the on the earth? He was healing people, delivering people, saving people, letting the blind be seen. That is the kingdom of God. So if you want to go into ministry after you confess Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you cannot go into ministry until you are water baptized. Now the water comes in. And when Jesus came out of the water after he was baptized, the dove the spirit came upon him and immediately Jesus went into the wilderness, but he went into ministry right after that. That is what being born again of water and spirit means because the Lord calls us to ministry to be fruitful and multiply just like Eve and Adam were told to do. So there's a physical representation in the male and female as one flesh procreating and giving birth to what Jesus is talking about in the spirit uh 2,000 years later. Now what happens here? Now there's something that goes on. So Jesus who he got baptized, he came he he came out of the baptism. He went into ministry. He was then crucified. But let's talk about that going back into Genesis because I want you to see part of this crucifixion here in Genesis because this is awesome. This is revelation that I had not thought of before that the Lord is revealing. So when Satan was cursed, see when Adam and Eve failed, they they lost the blessing because they disobeyed God and they were kicked out of the Garden of Eden. Three curses were spoken. one was to Eve. This is why I said I can do more parts. I'm not going to talk about the curse on Eve today. Uh then there's a curse against Satan and there was a curse against the earth. So he did three full curses. Let's look at the part of the curse that he did to Satan because this deals with the crucifixion. Genesis 3:15. And I will put enmity between thee and the woman and between thy seed and her seed. It shall bruise thy head and thou shalt bruise his heel. Now when Jesus when he was talking to Nicodemus and he was saying be born of water and spirit he was baptized. He came in and he went into ministry. But Jesus had a goal and that was to redeem all of us because he did not want to lose one of us. He needed to save us. When we are conceived today, we are conceived in sin. David clearly talks about that in the scriptures and in Psalms. So we are conceived in sin. So the Lord has to redeem us to get us out of that that sin. So what did Jesus do? He had to go to the cross. Now let's talk about being on the cross here for just a moment. Now they really don't know how Jesus was crucified per se. There are different uh ways to be crucified, different methods that they are familiar with. You can go study this on your own and check it out. I'm going to use the scripture here and just follow what the scripture is leading me on and we'll go from there. As for semantics of this, again, it's it's what you believe and you can ask the Lord to reveal this to you. So now let's picture Jesus on the cross here for a moment as he so in order to get Jesus on the cross. I don't believe that they put a ladder there and he climbs the ladder because anyone I mean Jesus might have done it. Anyone else I don't know about you but if they're going to try to kill me I'm going to fight to the end. Okay. And that is normal natural human nature right? uh Jesus is abnormal so he would go willingly but I don't think they had a cross there and that peop the men that were being crucified would be walking up there willingly so I think that they they bind their arms to the cross beam and so they are bound they can't really do much fighting but I mean fall and go limp and make the soldiers carry you and put you up there see that to me seems unreasonable so let's think about this in a reasonable matter let's say the horizontal beam is laid down and they have they lay you down and it's hard. You're not going to be able to get up after you're laid down because your arms are tied to this vertical beam. So, they have control over you at this point. So, they lay you down on that cross and then they pierce you with the nails. They put it into the hands or the wrists, whichever you want to believe in. They I guess they did some tests where if they did it in the hands, it would tear the body hanging. But remember, they probably had the ropes because they had to be bound to that vertical beam. So hands or wrist, that is up to you. The Bible talks about uh the wrist or excuse me, the hands here. And that's the word used. And uh maybe you can do a deeper study on that if you like. But here's what I do know is that they would raise the cross. And what the purpose of the cross was to do was to suffocate the person on the cross. You see, with your hands up here on the cross and your feet pierce to the the horizontal beam, when the nail pierces the feet or the foot, one or both, it pierces the heel. So Jesus heel is bruised on the cross. This takes the action of the cross back to the curse that God spoke to Satan at the time that Adam and Eve fell. So now you can see there's something that connects the two. We have to look at this in depth and see what the revelation is here. So if his heel is bruised, now understand what's happening here. There's a little piece of board or a platform that they put there for the feet and you can push up on that to lift you up because see they you're being pressed down you cannot breathe. You have to lift up yourself up to take a breath. When they pierce the foot the heel you are in so much pain when you lift you up. You have to let go. You take your breath you let go. So you relieve the pain in your heel so that you but now you can't breathe. So you have to keep going back and forth, back and forth. Now what happens is eventually you get tired and what happens is you're breathing less and less. Now your heart in the inner part of the ribs that is protected is now working double time, triple time, quadruple time. It is trying to get oxygen to the brain to the body. But this is the point of crucifixion. You are suffocating when you're up there. Well, as Jesus is dying, that blood is flowing. His heart is going. The the water separates from the blood. And so when the soldier pierces his body, he that blood and water flows. Now what? Let's look at the scripture to talk about how Jesus looked after he rose from the grave. I think this is very important because this tells you about the hands. This is why I lean towards the hands where the piercing took place. Now, it could have been the heel of the hands that would hold very well and it might very well be instead of the wrist. Who knows? But this is what the conversation that Thomas and Jesus had. Look at this. John 20 25. The other disciples therefore said unto him, talking to Thomas, "We have seen the Lord." But he said unto them, "Except I shall," this is Thomas talking, but he said unto them, "Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails and put my finger into the print of the nails and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe." Now in verse 27, Jesus is talking to Thomas. Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands, and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side. Look at the side, a rib, and be not faithless, but believing. You see the point of God taking from the rib and making woman out of the rib. He was pierced under the rib right there where the blood and water flowed to do what? For the spirit now, but he's in the flesh. So now you're talking about the fleshly church. The church is being born here on the cross by the water and the blood. And so now we have the church of God established today through what Jesus did in what he established when he made man in his image and completed because see Adam and Eve became one flesh and they birthed procreated life and children started coming out of them. Now Jesus came to the cross one flesh he birth. So himself and the church are together in the flesh as one flesh. Got to get this because see you understand look at the attack on the church today. We are still in the body. And what happens even though we're dead to uh uh sin, we're dead to these things, what happens is you're going to find people failing because we have an active adversary. The devil is constantly after us. He is constantly irritating us. So, we're going to lose self-control. These are the things we deal with. You see it in the pulpit. You see it in churches clashing. You see it in just doctrine. how there are so many different types of doctrine out there because we don't agree. But instead of disagre agreeing to disagree and walking in mercy and forgiveness and saying there could be truth to that or you know just being in love about the word of God and just showing the love and forgiveness, you see the active attack because we're still in the flesh. That's what Jesus did on the cross. Look at what the soldier did on John 19:34. But one of the soldiers with the spear pierced his side and forth with came there out blood and water. So there's a walking testimony here that the blood and water birthed the church. Now how is how is this to an individual being born again? Let's go to two people who were there to take the body of Jesus off the cross. Look at this. We're in John 19:38-40. And after this, Joseph of Arya, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the blood of Jesus. And Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore and took the body of Jesus. And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrr and allows, but about a 100 pound weight. Then they took the body of Jesus and wound it in linen clothes with the spices as the manner of the Jews is to bury. So now what I want you to see here, this is where being born again for the individual is so powerful. Now this revelation came through my dad. And so I I want to give him acknowledgement. This is something the Lord showed to him. He shared this with me the other night. He's the one who suggested I talk about women in the Bible. But it's interesting he shared that talked about women in the Bible and then I received several confirmations to teach this message. So I talked to him and obtain permission to share this revelation with you. So watch this. So in order So now they got to take the body off the cross. Do you think the soldiers are going to climb up on a ladder and try to carry him down? You know that that's more work. And in all fairness, they were smarter than we think they were. We always think we're the smartest generation. And uh these guys knew what they were doing. They're able to bring that cross down with the body on it. How? I don't know. But they were able to do so because that is a reasonable assumption. Okay. So, they were able to they might have a mechanism where the c the vertical beam sits into the hole, but they can lift it out and it just lays back down. They've got ropes and they know all these mechanisms. They're not they're not dumb. Okay? So, please understand that. How you want to take this and how you want to do it is up to you. But they're able to bring it down. Which means this allows Joseph of Arya and Nicodemus to prep take the body off the cross and prepare it. So now you have to understand there's nails in Jesus. They have to remove these nails. So they're going to pound it out from behind and get the nails off. Well, one of them, Joseph of Arythea and Nicodemus or both have to get uh they have to grab Jesus' body. Jesus is dead. That body is dead. It's now like a sack of potatoes. So, they're going to have to put their head under the arm. Imagine Nicodemus putting his head under Jesus' left arm where the blood and the water flowed and he picks him up. They lay him down on the linen cloth. Now that blood and that water is on Nick Demas. That is how you become born again. Now remember that was the flesh. What happened at the day of Pentecost? The Holy Spirit showed up. Now we're baptized with water and the spirit and we enter into the kingdom of God to minister to those around us, sharing the good news, the gospel, the redemption of Christ, laying hands on the sick. You know, I remember working at the school many, many years ago and one of the teachers was in the break room and she had her head down on the the table. She she had a headache, a really bad one. So, I went and laid hands on her, not even thinking about it. I just did it and prayed. So, I walk back into the office and about 15 minutes later, she shows up says, "I just want you to know the headache is gone. Your prayer worked." That is how we operate in the ministry of the kingdom of God. Every time you go to a gas station, every time you go to a grocery store, you're showing the spirit of God through you to others because you walk in the water and the spirit of the word of God. And the water is the Bible, the living word of God. That is the water, the spoken words of Jesus that cover us, go through us, penetrate us, allowing the spirit to manifest through us so that we confess words of blessings, revival, repentance, restoration, reconciliation. This is how the glory of the Lord manifests through us. We're born again and we can tell the world we are born again because see they look at us and they go what's different about you? Because see they face death the same way you face death. But you understand as a believer in Christ that death is just another door to go into the next life with Jesus. And so we celebrate life when a passing takes place. Whereas we might grieve a little bit but we become above and beyond the grief because we miss them. We're a bit on the selfish side. we're going to miss him. But someone who is not of God are going to grieve and hurt so bad that they it's a very difficult time for them to come out of it. This is where we have to show them with Christ how much more they can believe and be at peace and joy. Even though we all suffer the same way, there's a big difference. And you can see this from the day Eve was created. You can see how this is impacted the world to this day. This is Jesus. He set it up from the very beginning. Now, women, we are to protect the inner parts of our man. And men, you are to cover your woman. And we're to manifest and walk in one flesh with the water and the spirit of God. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Let's close in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word and we bless your word. We pray that your word does not return void. And we anoint your word. And your word is so powerful. It is your presence. It goes through. It ministers to us. Lord, we love you. We thank you. We honor you. And we worship you. We praise you. Lord, do not let us forget this word. Do not let the devil take this word out of our hearts and minds, but let us apply it and live it the way you designed us to be living, to live and to walk in this earth. DOMINION THROUGH ENLIGHTENMENT Equip “Vision for Women” to understand and reclaim God-given dominion by walking in true spiritual light—illumination that comes through God’s Word and the blood of Jesus—so the church can operate in unity, freedom from sin’s power, and confident authority in Christ. < Back DOMINION THROUGH ENLIGHTENMENT Pastor Marcos Marrero March 2, 2007 Objective: Equip “Vision for Women” to understand and reclaim God-given dominion by walking in true spiritual light—illumination that comes through God’s Word and the blood of Jesus—so the church can operate in unity, freedom from sin’s power, and confident authority in Christ. Synopsis: This fourth message in the dominion series teaches that dominion means exercising the authority God originally gave humanity, restored through Jesus. True dominion is recovered “through enlightenment”—the light of God’s Word versus the counterfeit “light” of the world. Using vivid contrasts (pitch-black tunnels vs. illumination), the teaching shows that Scripture reveals reality as it truly is and exposes Satan’s false, glittering narratives that enslave. Anchored in 1 John 1:5–9, the message explains: God is light; walking in that light produces fellowship/unity and continual cleansing by Jesus’ blood. Confession restores communion and clears the conscience so faith can operate without doubt. The tabernacle pattern illustrates how blood (life) fuels light (glory), pointing to Christ’s once-for-all offering that releases revelation and power. The church often loses dominion through idolatry, ignorance, and walking in darkness (practicing religion without revelation). Dominion returns as believers: Know and practice the Word (“It is written”), refusing divided hearts and human reasoning that replace truth with “instead-of-Christ” substitutes. Stay cleansed and confident—apply 1 John 1:9 immediately, believing God’s mercy (Lam. 3:22–23) and refusing shame that neutralizes faith. Walk in unity so the Body can wield corporate authority (John 17; Matthew 18). Exercise authority in Jesus’ name over personal “mountains” and even creation when led by the Spirit (Mark 11:23; examples from Jesus calming storms and Elijah praying for rain). Humble themselves to receive grace (James 4:6), trusting God’s goodness amid trials (Romans 8:28). Practical illustrations (traffic school, military rifle training, Adam’s test in Eden) underscore that dominion operates by believing God’s verdict over Satan’s accusations. The call is to live as light-bearers—daily in Scripture, quick to confess, steadfast in unity, and bold to say “It is written”—so the ministry and its leaders carry God’s will with power in a darkened world. Inspired Teaching: Let's open our word prayer. Father in heaven in Jesus name, we thank you and we praise you for this opportunity that we have, Father God, to to partake of your word, dear Lord Jesus. We ask for direction, Father. Uh all things that pertain to life and godliness come from you, Father God. And we want to make sure that everything that we do is in accordance to your good and perfect will, Father God. We don't want to settle for less. So I pray, dear Lord Jesus, that um this ministry here, Vision for Women, Father God, that that you will bring the anointing uh that reveals, Father God, your good will and perfect will for this house, Father God. And we pray that uh you will enable and empower those whom you have entrusted here, Father God, to carry out your will and purpose for this house, Father God. In Jesus name, we thank you for your anointing tonight. open our ears that we may hear. Give us a heart to understand and to receive. Father God, in Jesus name we thank you Lord. Amen. Amen. Praise God. This is our fourth week and I share on the u dominion on the last um three weeks and dominion meaning to exercise authority. Last Sunday I spent eight hours on uh comfor or whatever traffic school and the very first thing the guy said it says you violated the law. There was 14 of us there said you violated the law therefore you did the crime now you got to do the time so you got to spend eight hours over here. I don't want to hear anybody complain. Hi Marshall. So um uh dominion means not to rule. You know once I violated the law I committed myself and I have to go there otherwise I can just pay the ticket like I did and pay high insurance for the next three years. So you know that was a thing I had to pay them $40 and give them eight eight hours of my life you know. Uh but dominion means somebody has rule over you because of you know something that you violated or you having dominion over somebody because of the dominion that has been given to you. And in the first two weeks we deal with the u the dominion that has been given uh to us individually. And then last uh Friday night I dealt with how the church itself has lost his dominion. The dominion that was given due to the abominations and the idolatry and those different things that get uh talked about. So tonight we're going to speak about the dominion that we can regain through enlightenment. Uh as you know I'm some of you may know I'm pretty much into numbers. Numbers is the only perfect thing that we have. You know, I speak two languages. I speak full Spanish. I spoke only Spanish for 18 and a half years. And English is my second language that I learned. And one thing that I learned even with two languages that you cannot always express your sentiments and your feelings with words. They're just not adequate adequate words to express oneself. Sometimes we're we're inadequate. You cannot translate things perfectly. They're always uh messed up like that. So, uh, but there's one thing that's perfect. Whether you're saying 2 + 2 or do quatro, you're always going to come up with the same in numbers. I don't care whether you do in Russian or Chinese, you multiply 2 * 2, the answer is going to be the same no matter what language. That's the the beauty about mathematics. So, mathematics is perfect. The word of God is composed of 22 Hebrew letters. There's 22 word letters in the Hebrew alphabet. And um and the word uh uh the word of God if you look at it when it ends the revelation has 22 chapters. The number 22 means light. It is a number of light. As a matter of fact you take um this guy had a a tremendous book I was reading. You take uh uh the word light the distance from the the light travels all those things you can break it down and breaks down perfectly uh to what the word of God light means revelation. We need to think whenever you think of light you have to think of light in the difference between light and darkness. one time when I was a teenager and uh didn't speak hardly any English and I was hanging around with some guys. They invited me to go someplace and I didn't know what it was but I said I'll go with you guys and it was to the LA River over there by Florence and Firestone and it was to go through the uh drainage system to go walk up in there. Those are huge. Some of them you can walk straight anyway. So we started walking. We walked probably six miles inland, believe me. And we got so deep in some of those places. It was so dark. They have some flashlights and things like that. But anyway, would turn the lights out and you cannot see absolutely nothing. I mean, it's just pitch pitch pitch dark. Total and complete darkness. And of course, we had the police waiting for us when we came out because we were speaking through the manholes and we're doing all kinds of bad things that we're doing back then. But the contrast of light and darkness means that light allows you to see your environment. You see, if you turn the lights out completely dark and you can walk in the dark, if you're used like I like to get up at night and walk around because I know where everything is at. But let anything just be moved out of place and you're gonna hear w you know hitting something. So we need to understand that light is in the word of God is illumination, enlightenment, revelation, the ability to see clearly. This is what the word of God does. The word of God allows us to see reality, to see things how they really are. many of us and and I know I'm I'm taking a little bit too long setting this up, but I want you to do understand that the reality that this world portrays is not the real thing. We need to understand that this world is is is manipulated by Satan. Satan is called the god of this world. Satan manipulates the money system. Sa Satan manipulates the social system. Satan manipulates the learning system. Satan manipulates and he has built himself a false reality in which most of us dwell in that false reality and the things that seem real to us are not you know it takes that Anna Nicole she was talking she was watching that that on TV today all of that money and fame and whatever what a miserable life I mean her son which was 20 dead she's dead buried next You know that's not life. Yet in the world people clamor and long for those things. Why? Because the world is is is turn upside down. There's a false reality. A lot of people I uh I work in in houses. I see people that that that that have mansions and huge houses and all of these things and they get to the end of their life, none of their children are around. Their grandchildren don't come around. You know, it is sad to get to a point in your life to where you get old and realize, man, I worked last 50, 60 years of my life and what did I really achieve? I mean, I miss what life is really about. So, what I'm trying to say here is that the word of God is able to enlighten or bring revelation that allows us to see things for what they are, the reality of what things really are. And when we're able to see that, then we will see that we have dominion, that God made us rulers. Imagine this. If you own Manhattan, that island over there in New York where all of those huge buildings and property so expensive, and having somebody coming in and trying to give you some beads for the island, that's how they bought it from the Indians, by the way. They they just brought him some shiny stuff. They gave it to them and they got Well, that's what Satan has done with all of us. Yeah. Yeah. Get him some uh fire water, how they used to call it or something like that. That that is that is what Satan has done. He has offer us something that shines, something that glitters, something that looks like is, "Oh man, I never seen this." But yet we in reality are the ones who own the real thing. See, because the dominion was given to man, not to Satan. The dominion was given to us. So the word of God, when we get the proper perspective, when we get the proper enlightenment, when we get the proper illumination or revelation, the word of God is able to set us straight to where we can see who really dominates. See, the reality is that most Christians today live in fear of Satan or are dominated by Satan or are controlled by Satan or are living under the influence of of demonic influence of Satan when in reality should be the other way around. We rule. We rule. We The dominion was given to Adam. We're Adam. We're the humans. And and Adam lost it. And Jesus came out and regain it. He said Jesus came that he might destroy the works of the devil. And he did. He destroyed the works of the devil and then he left and he left us in charge. We are in charge. That's why I said what Jesus said you never prayed on my name but from now on from a certain day when the day he told us that but from now on you will pray on my name and whatever you ask the father in my name he will give it to you. Why? Because I'm taking charge. I'm taking authority. I came. You see, God made a law and the law was he created the physical universe and the law was in order for you to operate on the physical universe, you need a physical body. That's the law. Spirits cannot operate on this uni. This is why Satan cannot kill. Don't you think if Satan could grab that that kitchen knife that you got in your kitchen and and slit your throat while you're sleeping that he wouldn't do it? He wouldn't even hesitate. He wouldn't even hesitate. But guess what? He ain't got no hands. He can't get a hold of that stuff. So what does he have to do? He had to get somebody else out there crazy enough to come after you or he has to get you crazy enough to where you got the knife and you cut yourself. You see this is how he operate. So in order for us to operate in this physical realm, you got to have a physical body. And God excluded himself from that. When he gave dominion to Adam, Adam was to rule. And God could not rule because God would not come. God is spirit. They that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. So God did not have a body. So when Satan came in and swindled this dominion from Adam, God had to become a man. And that is in one of the Psalms and in Hebrews says, "A body you prepared for me." The word of God, which is the light, the word of God is light, came in and dwelt in a physical body. In the physical body, he bore the transgression of all humans. Every single human. That includes Hitler. That includes Fidel Castro. That includes all of these bad people out there. He bore the transgression of everybody. He died on the cross. And then since he was sinless, death could not hold him anymore. He came back to life and all the dominion was given to him. And then he says, "I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it." And then he gave his church the authority. Why? Because his church has a physical body. He's ahead. He's in heaven. But we are the church. We're the physical body. So in order for us to exercise dominion, we need to understand, we need to be enlightened. We need to understand the difference between this false reality that Satan has built around us and the real reality that we have been given dominion. Amen. Now, with that in mind, let us go to first John. And if you got your notes, you have all of the scripture there in your note. And first John 1:9 says, "But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin." Now, notice the statement that John made. Now, it's amazing that John is writing first and second and third John after he was taken up to heaven and he wrote the book of Revelation. He went from all of those years. He was about 90 years old living in the in with a physical mentality even though he was trained by Jesus, even though he was an apostle, even though he preached. Then one day he gets taken up to heaven and he gets to see this physical realm from the other side. He got to see it. This is why the uh you read Matthew, Mark, and Luke, they're all make sense. They're called the synoptic gospels because they're all concordant. You read John is weird. John is a spiritual is the spiritual revelation of the word of God. It's totally different. You read the book of revelation. Do they say people are scratching their heads? They don't know what it mean. Why? Because the spiritual revelation has to be understood through spirit through the spirit which is the word of God. And the same way with first and second and third John in in in first and second John is the only place where you find the word antichrist or instead of Christ. Paul speaks about him in in Thessalonian but he calls him the man of sin, the man of pition. But anti doesn't mean against means instead of. In other words, there's a false Christ. So there's a false light that rules and prevails like oh this is the real Christ and it's not. And then he says that if we walk in the light as he is in the light, that means if we walk with spiritual enlightenment, if we walk in a way that we can see the spiritual reality that is around us and look at the purposes and we have fellowship with one another. Now, why is that so important? Because the power comes through unity. See, if we're a body, then we have to walk as a body. Imagine if my hand wanted to go that way and my leg wanted to go this way and my head wanted to turn around and my ear wanted to go this way. I would be immobilized. I would be paralyzed. I couldn't move. So everything has to walk. So the spirit of God is here on the earth and he's moving through his body. That means different individuals to walk by the revelation of the light to walk in unison or to walk together. And then he goes and he says that the blood of Jesus you there's three parts here. If we walk in the light as he's in the light, we have fellowship with one another. And the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. Now last week I finished with the part that in the holy place uh there was a curtain and and and uh in the first part what is called the uh the holy place you have the manora for light because this was a tent that had four thick covers over it. They had big huge double curtain. So when you enter in there there was total and complete darkness. So because of that there was this uh luminora in this side of the room and it was supposed to be kept lit all the time. So when the priest came through the curtain and came into the holy place to put the table of uh the bread on the table that uh that had to be replaced every week or to offer the incense on the altar of incense or to light up or put more oil. That's the light that he worked by. But there was a thick thick curtain, a big thick curtain here. And the ark of the covenant was behind that curtain. And there was no light in there. There was absolutely no light. So when the priest went in there, it was total darkness. The only light that was there was the presence of God which rested in the ark. Here's a picture of the ark right here. The presence of God would sit. And that presence was so strong in the days of Moses. The light shone from there. The light went all through the tabernacle and the light form a cloud that covered them by day and gave him light by night so that they wouldn't have to walk in darkness. This is the it's called shakina. It's the manifested light or visible glory of God. This is what was in there. Well, this light when when the tabernacle was there will be on the mercy seat. And as the priest came once a year into that darkened place, the only light that it would be would be resting right on the mercy seat. And as he brought the blood of the sacrifice and the blood was accepted and he dipped the blood on the mercy seat, the blood which symbolizes the life because the Bible says the life is in the blood. As the life was poured, the light would come alive. It's like the light was fed, the glory, the anointing was fed. Why? Because without the shedding of blood, there's no remission of sin. And the the nation was a sinful nation. So the nation had to do what Moses told them. They had to bring an animal. The animal had to be killed. the sins of the nation. The high priest will lay his hands on the head of the goat and the sins of the nation for that one year would be transferred upon the goat. Then the goat would be killed and when the blood was brought up in there that satisfied the requirements of a righteous God and the blood would cause the light to come. The Bible tells us that Jesus, our high priest, went and when he offered himself on the cross, his blood, the life that was in his blood was collected by the eternal spirit, which is the Holy Spirit and was brought to the temple of God in heaven. There's a real thing. Those were just pictures. And up in there was when the blood, the life of Jesus was poured. And when that life was poured, revelation immediately came. Enlightenment came. They came vision, the revelation, the ability to see. So here John is giving us a description of what he saw in heaven. If we walk in the light as he is in the light, then we're one. We have quania. We're one. Quania means like grapes. We're all individuals, but they're all connected. We're we're one. And then he says, and then the blood of Jesus, he says, the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. Why? Because the blood of Jesus is the light. See, the word of God is the light. In John 1:1 says, "In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God." In John 1:14 says, "And the word became flesh and that flesh died." The life that was in the flesh was in the blood was offered. Why? For an enlightenment or for revelation. So we see that the blood of Jesus and the word of God are very much interconnected when you apply. See all of us have an inner san like that by the way you're have a physical body which is the outer temple then you have an inner core which is your soul and then you have the holy place where your spirit reside. If you're born again, Jesus, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit, they're all in your inter sanctum in your spirit. Your spirit is made alive. Every time you go into that place and you apply the blood, there's a tremendous revelation. There's a tremendous anointing. There's a tremendous release of energy and power. Like we talked last week uh in Hebrews 4:12, the word of God is living alive and active. That means energy. There's energy in the word of God. So every time Satan say, "You're nothing but a loser." And I said, "By the blood of Jesus, by the stripes of Jesus, I being healed. I'm taking the word of God. I'm taking the life of blood of the blood. I'm putting it into my soul." And the anointing immediately comes up. The light comes up, the revelation comes up, and Satan has to flee. Every time he accuses you and you proclaim the word of God, he has to flee. And that's what he very plainly says there. So the abominations which have come against us and against the body of Christ which all have to do with uh with uh idolatry and harlotry. It is only the blood of Jesus when he's released that anointing, the revelation, that enlightenment that is able to restore us to fellowship with God. You see, sin separates us from God. Okay? Every single one of us walk today and we sin. You either said a lie or you thought about something you shouldn't think of or you hated somebody without a cause. Whatever sins we committed during the day, as soon as you confess your sin, which is two verses down, 1 John 1:9, if we confess our sins, he's faithful and just not only to forgive us our sins, but to cleanse us. Okay? So, every single time we confess our sins, we apply the the word of God to us. John 3:16, God so loved the world, God loves me. Um, Lamentations 3:22-23. His mercy are new every morning. I don't care how bad I messed up yesterday. I can get up this morning and pray. There's a whole brand new batch of mercy and grace for me. There's a brand new and I can apply that and as I apply that, there's revelation. The revelation means I am forgiven. I am accepted. But then also there's a responsibility because with the word of God comes revelation. Why is it that I always have to lie? Why is it that I always have to do this? Or why is it that I always have to do that? Then as I begin to meditate, the revelation of God begins to enlighten me to the strongholds and the things that I need to deal with. Because you see, we sin. We're not sinners because we sin. We sin because we're sinners. We were born sinners. When you were born a child and you were uncomfortable, the very first thing you went in, if you don't get your way, you cry. Why? Because that's a selfish nature. That's how we're born. So God doesn't say you lousy sinner. God says, "No, you have no choice but to sin because that's in your blood. But I have a remedy for sin. And it is up to you to apply that remedy, to put it to work so that you can be set free. I put a switch in your darkened room. Turn it on. Turn that switch on. Let the light come on. Let the revelation appear. Let the blood release that anointing so that I can set you free. and not only you personally but so that I can bring you corporate corporately into a place of power and exercise in dominion. Now look at I'm going to be going one verse up. The next verses 1 John 1:6. If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in darkness, we lie and we do not practice the truth. What is he talking about? He said, "You can be a Christian. You can go to church every Sunday and you can say, "Hey, man. I go to church every Sunday and I Hallelujah. Praise the Lord." And I said, "Oh, that listen, you can proclaim and and and and be part of a denomination and worship the Lord every day. If you're walking in darkness, you don't have the light." That is simply what he's saying. How do you work in darkness? Well, if you don't know what uh uh you know what's causing you to sin, or if you don't know what's causing you to mess up, if you don't know what's causing you to be the way you are, that's because you don't have revelation. And if you don't have revelation, you're walking in darkness. Unfortunately, many churches today, you you you go in and you come out the exact same way that you went in because there's no revelation. Revelation is the anointing. There's no conviction of sin. And when there's conviction of sin, there's no remedy for us to stop going sinning. You can have a great anointed service, go forward and repent, but then after 150 more times committing the same sin, your heart gets hardened. You go to church, you hear the same message again, and man, I've been there, done that 150 times. That's not what I need. What I need is revelation. What I need is an anointing. What I need is power, dominion over this thing that's got a hold of me. Because if I can break that hold of that thing, man, I need change in my life. You see, that revelation comes in, that's where the power comes in. So he says, if we say we're Christian and then we're having a good old time and everything else, but it it if if we're not practicing the truth, then we're walking in darkness. Notice that it uses the word practice. That's the same word that uh by the way that uh they use for doctors. Don't you hate that? Going to a doctor and he's practicing on you. They practice medicine. That's because they really don't know. They're just going along with it. They're practicing. They have a lot of knowledge. But but that's what he's saying there. We're practicing quote unquote Christianity. But if it's in darkness, it's not revelation, then we're not really practicing the truth, are we? Why? Because Jesus said, "You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." So Jesus said this, they said, "Hey, we're not slave to nobody." The Pharisees said to him, "We're heirs of Abraham." He says, "Anybody who slave uh uh anybody who commits sin is a slave to sin." Only truth. Truth is light, enlightenment, revelation. See, once you realize that your head is itching because you got a bunch of little lies in there that driving you nuts, then you don't have to scratch that itch anymore. You go out and get that medicine and you put it on and you get that real fine come and you get those little critters on their legs out and you solve the problem. When we realize that the reason why we sin is because we got this things on us that is driving us to do it and to do it and to do it and to do it and as long as you don't know, you don't know. You can live in a jungle some place because you can't see them. Most of them are too small to see them anyway. So it requires enlightenment. It requires revelation. It requires truth. Once we realize that then we can address the problem. The problem with us is sin, deepseated sin that has taken away our dominion. We don't have dominion because we walk in sin. Jesus said, "Speak to the mountain. Tell it to go out, get out of your way, and jump into the sea. The only condition is if you do not doubt in your heart that what you're saying is going to come to pass, it will be done for you. The only condition is if you do not allow. So I have a mountain in my life. It can be a mountain of bills, can be a mountain of debt, can be a mountain of uh torment, fear, uh persecution, whatever it is is coming against you. You have authority to speak to the mountain. The only condition is what you really believe in your heart. So you see this is where the heart is the holy place where the blood of Jesus every time we doubt that God will bless us because we have sinned even though we have confessed that sin we are actually putting to shame the blood of Jesus. We're saying in a sense the blood of Jesus was not good enough for that sin. I got to do some penitence first. You see I that sin was bigger. Uh, it was okay to repent of that little light, but sniffing that whole thing of cocaine, that was a lot stronger. I'm I'm I'm gonna have to at least be banished for about six months before because the blood of Jesus, you see, this is the mentality of it. Doubt in the heart, the heart is where the blood of Jesus is applied. If I can understand that the blood of Jesus is able to take away my sin and that the only beef that God has with me because he calls sin in the New Testament missing the mark and the only beef that he has with me is that if I'm walking in darkness and not seeing what the root of the problem is so that he can give me that remedy and I can take that root out like Jesus said every plant that my heavenly father has not planted will be uprooted. Everything that is in our heart that is not from God, he wants to uproot it. But he needs our permission. He needs our working with him. And the only way that that happens is through revelation. Now look at verse 5. We start at 1 John 17, 1 John 1:6, and 1 John 15 because I want to tie it all together. He says, "This is the message which we have heard from him and declared to you that God is light and in him there is no darkness." Now you see the message. God is light. Light can be used as good provider. He's faithful. Everything that ever has anything to do with good, that's what God is. God is good. He is light. And in him, there is absolutely no darkness at all. So if I am dealing with any part at all that has any darkness to it, then I'm not walking in the light. Right? There's a couple of notes over there if you can pass into. Oh, there you go. You got anyway. So he says that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all. Now let me put this into context. There was uh we were listening to the radio coming down and the news. I was trying to get the traffic made sure that everything was fine and there was uh was it a a tornado I think that hit a high school and eight kids on the high school were killed and they were speaking to one of the teachers. They said they did everything. They had a a system in case of an emergency were to get all the kids together. They were saying that everything that could have been done that were done and that they say kids were killed because it was an act of God. That what they call it. The insurance forms they call it like that. An act of God. God came in and he killed those eight helpless little kids that were just going to school there. It's an act of God. Yeah, it was an act of God. But not the God we're talking about, not the God we're serving. Jesus, John 10:10 says, "Satan comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy." So if people were killed, that was the God of this world. That wasn't the God we serve. Okay? If there were people that were injured, were in the hospital, their health was taken away from them. That is not Jesus said, "I came to that you may have life and have it more abundantly." Did you know that we as believers have been given authority, dominion even over the weather? If we, the church of the Lord Jesus Christ, was operating in the power and the dominion that Jesus gave us, we could speak to that tornado and tell them to shut up because Jesus did it. Jesus saw the storm coming up and and the disciples were all freaking out. Why is that on the Bible? Was Jesus showing off? No, he was just showing them what what what man was has been given by God. Man has been given authority. So they woke Jesus up. They're uh a fisherman. They know how to handle. They know they're in a mess. They tell Jesus, "Wake him up. Don't you care that we perish?" He gets up. I can I can maybe He was a little tired and he wanted some rest and he was just kind of getting a little fed up with the little faith that his disciples had. So he tells the thing to shut up and then he tells you a little faith. You know I shown you the power and the authority that God has given us. When Jesus says from this time you never pray in my name but from now on whatever you pray in my name whatever you ask the father in my name it will be given to you. What was Jesus saying? He's saying, "I am depositing upon you, my people, my church, the authority, the dominion to rule over this realm." We have authority to rule over this realm. You can speak to the mountain. You can speak to the drought. Elijah was a man just like us. He could tell, "Do not rain until I tell you." So, for three and a half years, it did not rain. He could tell the rain. Okay, it's time to start. There may not be a cloud in the whole sky. He got down on his knees and he began to pray. He said, "Lord, you gave me authority. You spoke to me. You gave me your word. You said, "Whatever you speak, I'm going to bring it to pass." His servant went over the hill and look up. They're not a cloud in the sky, master. He got back down on his knees. He say, "Hey, uh, over there the weather channel, whoever is in charge of the weather up there is calling." Hey guy, I'm calling over here. Could you hear me? I want some rain and I don't want it tomorrow. I want it right now. You understand? He's praying. So he tell his servant, "Go back up there again." So his servant goes back up here. Well, there's a little cloud there, but it's no bigger than my fist. So he gets back down again and say, "Listen, I don't want a fist full of rain, okay? I want the whole shebang. I want you to send me superers size it. You know, send the whole storm. And in less than an hour, boom, there it came. Now, what was God? Was God showing off? No. God is just simply showing us the reality that we as the the body of Christ, the the authority that has been given us in the name of Jesus, we have been given dominion. That dominion is to rule over this earth over the realm of the earth. We have been given that power. Now it hasn't been given to an individual has been given to a body. That's why he says if we walk in the light as he is in the light we have fellowship one with another means we're in unity. We're together in this. We understand one another. Then the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. The blood of Jesus gets applied to our sins. We get cleansed from our sins and now we can walk in the authority and the dominion, the revelation because the anointing is enlightenment. See, when I was in the Marines for the first 90 days, I think that I was there, they give you a rifle that doesn't have a firing pen and doesn't have no bullets. Some people would could find the bullet someplace. That's why they take the firing pen out of your rifle. And for three months they treat you as if that rifle is loaded. And every time you misplace that rifle and in any little way, boy, they jump all over you. They'll even steal your rifle to punish you because you're supposed to have it in your possession at all times. Synopsis: This message—In the Light—lays out a biblical principle: all of life runs on principles, and spiritually there are only two sources of “light” (guidance): from above (God’s wisdom) and from below (earth-bound, sense-driven, demonic wisdom). Israel, Judah, and Edom receive a prophetic strategy (dig ditches; God supplies water; pursue and utterly ruin the enemy’s strength). They comply—except they refuse to tear down the sun-baked stones of Kir-Hareseth (“wall/city of the sun”), a symbol of entrenched idolatry. When the Moabite king sacrifices his son on that wall, terror rises and God’s people retreat. The lesson: leaving any stronghold (a protected area of natural reasoning, superstition, unforgiveness, pride, or religious tradition) gives the enemy leverage and perpetuates curse-cycles and loss. Practically, the message calls believers to let the Spirit shine on the root, not just the symptoms, of recurring sins or bondages—then, in faith, pull down the wall completely: forgive, repent, renounce, reconcile, obey the specific word of the Lord. As we walk in the light, the anointing breaks the yoke, and the qualified inheritance (cleansing, healing, provision, peace, joy) is experienced. Gloria Elbe Jesus B. Amen. Precious Father in heaven, as we come before you tonight, we worship your precious and holy name. We thank you, Father God, for the privilege to come together as brothers and sisters in in the Lord and come as one, Father God, in the unity of the spirit to worship the one God, the one true savior, even Jesus Christ, our savior and lord. We ask, Father God, that you open that fountain, dear Lord Jesus, that you pour on us the bread that came down from heaven, which is Jesus, who became flesh for us. We uh need your word, Father God. We need that fountain of life in our midst, Father God. For we live in a dried and thirsty land, dear Lord Jesus. And we desire tonight to be filled with the bread that comes down from heaven to be washed and to drink of the water of the springs of life, Father God. And we thank you for your anointing here tonight and your favor, dear Lord Jesus. I ask that you bless each and every person that is here uh tonight and that you make us all a house of faith. Father God, we are your house, Jesus. You're the head and we're your body. We're your temple. And we pray, Father God, that life will come in into each and every one of us here tonight, Father God, that we may glorify your house, Father God, in Jesus name. Amen. Amen. Praise God. Hallelujah. Everybody's got the notes there that would help you. I have a lot a lot of scriptures and we don't want to be here all night. So, but I want to make sure the the first page is going to deal with me uh revealing from the point of view of the Bible a principle. Uh we have to understand that everything operates through principles. uh there are physical laws or principle and there are spiritual principles understanding especially spiritual principles are vital uh uh for us to to be able to walk to receive the blessings. Now the message as you can see I title is in the light and that comes from the scripture Colossians chapter 1 verse 12. All of the scriptures that we're going to go through I have them there. Uh I think they're all uh from the New King James Version. Um, and only one we're going to go that um that you don't have down there. So, if you want to save time, you can check them later. But in Colossians 1:12, Paul writes, "Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light." Now, we all know what qualifying means. Uh, I used to ball in in in in tournaments and uh, the only one that I ever won was here in the Cobalt here in Wington a long time ago. Uh, some of you probably remember where the Cobalt used to be. But the way it was is hundreds of people will sign up for the tournament and all of the bowling lanes will be there and then you bowl all day long. That would happen on on uh on Saturday and out of the and you could enter as many time as you wanted to. If you didn't do good the first time, you would pay another $18 and and go again. And then what they would do at the end of the night after the last uh thing, they will pick up 32 people, the 32 highest scores qualified to go for the grand prize. Then next day, which was a Sunday, the 32 people bowl against each other. And then the top five, they qualified to go for the grand prize, which at the time was $500. And then those five bowlers used to do like they do in TV. The guy that finished fifth would bowl the fourth. The winner will bowl the third. I was top seated. That's I mean I bowl a lot and that was a freak of nature I guess. But qualification doesn't guarantee that you get the prize. It means that you are in the running for the prize. That's in other words, if I did not qualify on Saturday, I could go there Sunday. I couldn't bowl no matter how much money I brought. The only people that would bowl on the next day is the people that qualify. And then when those 32 people bowl, only the top five qualify to go for the grand prize. So notice that it says here and and I gave you that illustration so we get the meaning of it. Giving thanks to the father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints. We have been qualified but that doesn't mean we received that yet. This is what we need to understand. There was an effort. I even though I was topseated. I already had the second prize in my pocket which was $225. Meaning I could lose and I would come in second. I had the$ 225. But if I wanted to take the grand prize, the trophy and and my picture on the paper and all of that stuff, uh, you have to win that last game. Now, notice that it says here that he has qualified us. And what got my attention is that it says in the light. I mean, what does it mean? What does it mean to be qualified in the light? And so, that's the principle that I wanted before we get to the message. The message is on the second page. So I had to explain the principle that's all on the first page. Now look at James 1:17. It says, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the father of lights." That's where our qualification is in the light. In the light there's good and there are perfect gift. When we're in the light, we receive the gift. The gift is the grand prize, the first place. You're already qualified. We're already qualified. You show up and guess what? Your name is in the roster. You're already qualified to get the gift, but you got to get in the light in order to get the gift. That what he says there. You haven't been qualified to receive the inheritance of the saints in the light. And then he says that every good and every perfect gift is from above and comes on from the father of light. Now if you look to the next couple of chapters in James 3 1516 and 17 we get a little revelation as to what the light is. He says, "This wisdom does not descend from above, but it is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above," now notice that he says, "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the heavenly lights." He said, "But the wisdom that is prone above is first of all pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy." So we see that light is being equated with wisdom. Light is being equated with wisdom. And it says that there are two different types of wisdom or two different types of lights. There's a light that come from above from the father of the heavenly light. That means there's an understanding that comes from above from the father of heavenly light. And in that understanding there are gift. We already been qualified just the fact that we have accepted Jesus. We're already qualified to receive him. But we need the revelation. We need the understanding. We need the wisdom on how to receive this gift. And there is another wisdom. And he says that this wisdom is not from God or another revelation or another light. He says this wisdom does not descend from above but is earthly. That means it's physical not spiritual. Is sensual. That means that it's governed by the senses. Is what you can touch, what you can hear, what you can see, what you can smell, what you can taste. It's part of the physical realm. That's where the senses operate from. And then it says and is demonic, meaning Satan is in it. So that means that there are two ways to do things. one is going by our own wisdom by by what makes sense or you know what God told me I'm going to get that job and so I'm going to go by natural means to get this gift that I need. He says that when you go that route through the senses that Satan is in it. Demonic means that there's contaminated verses is other wisdom or revelation that comes from above. So basically what the principle is is that there are two kinds of wisdom. The one comes from God and one from from the world. There's two ways of doing thing. One is by the revelation of God and one is by the revelation of man. Okay. And in the light, whichever light we're in, will determine what gift we're going to inherit. Because if the light that we follow is the light of this world, Satan is in it. And if Satan is in it, Satan does not come except to what? To steal and to kill and to destroy. But it is the wisdom of God or the life that comes from above. Then there's life and there's abundant life. Now, let's look at some more scriptures that that prove this point. Going back to Colossians where we read in in 1:12 where it says, "Giving thanks to the father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saint and the light." In verse 13, he says, "He God has delivered us from the power of darkness and convey us into the kingdom of the son of his love." Now notice what this other wisdom is referred to power of darkness. It says that we were in under the influence of the power of darkness before we were qualified before we were brought into the kingdom of the son of his love. We were under the power of this darkness. Now what is that darkness? doing things in the way that seems right to your eyes. Let's look at that. Look at the uh the only scripture that is not there is in First John. Uh when I was praying this morning, the Lord just brought it to me, so I didn't get a chance to put it. I had already made everything. go to first John and look at uh chapter 1 and then we're going to read verse 5, 6, and 7. 1 John 1:es 5, 6, and 7. He says, "This is the message which we have heard from him, from God, and declared to you." John was just taken up to heaven. He wrote the book of revelation by the being taken up to heaven was told to write everything he saw. Many believe that first, second, and third John these three letters he wrote after he went to heaven and that the gospel of John he wrote after he came from heaven because he was taken up to heaven and he saw things from a different perspective. That's why Matthew, Mark, and Luke all make sense. They're called synoptic because those three gospels are all interrelated. John's does not have nothing to do with them. It's separate. He was taken up into this heavenly realm and he saw that this letter was written and look what he says. Now remember, we just read in James where it says that um uh uh uh every good and perfect gift comes down from above from the father of lights. Right? Now look what John who was up there where the light is says. He says this is the message that we have heard from him and declared to you. What is that message? God is light. God is light and in him there is no darkness at all. Now look at verse six. If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in darkness, we lie and we do not practice the truth. Verse seven, but if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his sons cleanses us from all sin. Now, God cannot walk in darkness because there's no darkness in God. But we can walk in darkness because we were part of the kingdom of darkness before we came into the kingdom of the son of his love, the kingdom of light. So we do have a choice. Even though we're born again believers, even though we have been qualified to receive all of these gifts in the light, when we walk in darkness, we do not receive the gift. If I went over there and I bowled 10 gders in a row, I would never have gotten the prize. I was bowling against a guy that was a lot better than me. The guy had like a 220, 220 average. I got like a 160 average. But in the tournament, they use your handicap. So with my handicap, I started like with 25 points ahead of him. But man, I threw three uh six strikes in a row and that just blew him out of the water. Man, I cannot catch up with a six rackon plus a 30 some panhandah handicap. So I still had to troll even though I was qualified. I still had to do something to do it. And he's saying here you got to walk in the light. You were part of the kingdom of darkness, but now you're into the kingdom of the son of his love and you have been qualified to receive all of these gifts. What is the greatest gift? Look at verse seven. What is the greatest gift? And the blood of Jesus Christ his son cleanses us from all sin. Did you know that sin is what keeps us from the blessings? Sin is what brings sicknesses. Sin is what brings poverty. Sin is what brings uh h uh you know lack of joy, lack of peace. Sin is is something that always condemning, something that always brings us down, right? Well, that is the greatest gift. We're walking in the light. Revelation from above. We recognize that our sin has all been forgiven, has been dealt with. And now we open ourselves to the joy of man, God loves me, and he wants to bless me. He wants to prosper me. He wants to heal me. He wants to set me free. And hallelujah, I begin to walk in that light. And as I walk in that light, in the wisdom and the revelation of God, the doors begin to open for me. Because without faith it's impossible to please God. And they that come to God must believe that he is. And we cannot come to God unless our sins are washed away. So this is the message we heard from the start. God is light and in him there is no darkness at all. So we need to walk in the light. Now this light it is talking about spiritual revelation. But God uses a natural setting for us to understand. If you're in a place and all of the lights go out and it's the middle of the night, all of the sudden all your senses betray you. Because if he just gets turned around a little bit, you won't know which way the wall is, which way the door is. Have you ever been I went into the uh the drainage down in there by by the LA River and we walk in there. That's a long time ago. And you get to a place where it gets so dark you cannot see your hand in your face. We have some flashlights and we turn them off completely. And I mean you can get totally and completely dis disoriented immediately. So the idea is that in the darkness we cannot see. We cannot find our way around. We will stumble. We will fall. So we need light to be able to see. So that's the same way in the spirit. If we're going to walk this walk with the Lord, we have to walk in the light, meaning in the revelation of the Holy Spirit. Now, look at look at the next scripture in Matthew 6:23. And this is in your uh in your note. Jesus speaking and he's using this natural principle and he says, "But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness." And then he says, "If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness?" Jesus is saying, just like in the natural, you need your eyes to be able to receive what the light reveals. In the same way, if you are guided by the wrong light, because he calls light darkness. There's a light. See, we're talking about wisdom. We're talking about revelation. We're talking about understanding. Spiritual understanding that means the revelation that the Holy Spirit gives us is light that comes from above and brings the blessings. But the light of the natural senses the way that we perceive this world is darkness because is demonic. Satan is in it and Satan is a liar. Satan is a cheater. Satan is false. Everything that he does is a trap. So if we walk under the light of the natural understanding, we fall into a trap. We fall into a trap because that is Satan's domain, the human understanding. That's why Jesus says, "How great is that darkness?" Now in Proverbs 14:12 and it appears also in Proverbs chapter 16 says there is a way that seems right to a man but his end is the way of death. So, so what he's talking about here, and I put it there on the notes, under the spiritual or the heavenly light, under the revelation of God, there are good and perfect gifts and gift graces that empower us that lead us to abundant life. In other words, if I have spiritual understanding, if I have spiritual revelation, if I understand the spiritual principles that are in the word in the word in the word of God and I follow them since I've been qualified by the fact that I am saved, then all of these gifts that God has prepared for me, I will find them because they are revealed to me. This blessing is now revealed to me. It's just like somebody turns the light on and then all of a sudden I see I am thirsty but it's dark and I don't know where the water is at. I don't know if the bottle that I found if it's totally dark, whether it's polluted or I don't know what it is. But when the light switch is turned on, the understanding the spiritual revelation of God I see was good. I see was bad. You see when I'm walking by the revelation but this revelation doesn't come by the human senses. See the human senses are contaminated by the devil because this physical world has been contaminated by the world. So in Proverbs two different chapters he tells us there is a way that seems right to a man. How do you see it? With your eyes. Oh, you know what? if I do this, if I do this, and there's so many people that are fooled all the time, the natural principles of this world, you follow them. If you want to be prosperous, you follow them. And you know, we're living in a nation to where we have the one of the highest wealth. And I'm not talking about just the rich people, but the middle class. Tremendous wealth. I mean, you can see just go by the marina, you'll see boats and boats. Go by the mountains, you see houses upon house. There's so much wealth in this nation. But yet, billions and billions of dollars are spent every year on drugs. I think by 20 years, every American will be on in in in in in prescription drugs. That's why they're putting a a drug house in I mean a drug store in every corner. This is the fastest growing industry there is. Everybody is getting ready. But why? Because that is where the natural understanding leads you. See the real things that have value in life are joy, peace, security, uh you know having a mind that it is sound. God has not given us a spirit of fear but of love and of power and of a sound mind. And that comes through spiritual understanding not natural understanding. And so we have to understand the spiritual principle that we're dealing with today has to do with light which means revelation, wisdom, understanding, knowledge. And that there are two types of it. There's a natural one, the one that we can make our own sense out of it with our own natural understanding or with the world's understanding. Or there is the the light or revelation that come from God that most of the time does not make sense. God's way do not make sense to the natural mind. I mean, one day I was a sinner and on my way to hell. I stumbled into this church. I accepted the Lord. I came out and now I'm in heaven for eternity. I mean, I'm I'm all my sins are washed away. I'm set free. I couldn't understand. For 29 years, I tried. I was a Catholic and I tried I had prayed every night. I tried to deal with the burden of sin and nothing could take it out. Then one night without me understanding anything about it. I just said yes when the preacher asked for for hands for salvation and I was changed. I was changed. I walked out of that place. I could have walked on water. It doesn't make sense to the natural mind. I look in the mirrors and I look the same but it feels so different. You see, and now he could not take my salvation away. So now he's trying to take my ability to walk in the light. For he can turn me back into the ways of the natural men, then I disqualify myself even though I've been qualified already. Because the only way we can receive the graces or the gift of God are when we walk in the light. If we don't walk in the revelation that comes from above, we forfeit everything. Now under the natural or the physical light or understanding all roads lead to destruction. Now how did Jesus handle it when he was here on earth in Isaiah 11:es 2 and three. It tells us Isaiah is probably writing 800 years before Jesus came. And it says talking about the root of Jesse who would come in the Messiah. It says, "The spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord." Speaking about Jesus prophetically almost a thousand years before Jesus died on the cross. His delight, Jesus's delight is in the fear of the Lord. And look what it says about Jesus. And he shall not judge by the side of his eye, nor decide by the hearing of his ears. You see, when Jesus was baptized, the spirit of the Lord God came down from heaven in the form of a dove and lighted upon him. And they use that word, we're going to go to it. United means he lit him up, open his understanding to the spiritual realm and therefore he did not judge according to what his eyes saw or to what his ear heard. You know what Jesus's eyes saw? He saw Judah Judah as a thief and as a traitor. He knew it. He was sitting there on the table after he washed their feet and he says, "Okay, Judas, you got to do what you're supposed to do now." Jesus knew it. The disciples later found out that Judas used to help himself to the money on the treasury. Jesus knew it. But you see, he wasn't looking with the natural eyes. When he looked at Judas, he didn't see a traitor. When he saw Peter, he didn't see somebody who will betray him either. when he sees you, he doesn't see somebody that's going to fail him a million times. You see, he doesn't make judgment by what he sees with his natural eyes or by what he hears with his natural ears. He makes judgment according to the wisdom and understanding. As a matter of fact, that there makes a perfect manora. The spirit of the Lord, it says wisdom and understanding, the fear of the Lord, the power, the knowledge, all of the things make a perfect manora. What is a manora? A candle light. This is the only article that is inside of the holy place that gives light that gives revelation. Jesus became a walking manora. The spirit of the lord came upon him. The understanding of the lord it says there that the uh the spirit of the lord came in. That's a center lamb. Wisdom is one branch. Understanding is the other one. Uh counsel is one uh branch. Might is the other one. Knowledge is one. the fear of the Lord of the elephant. He became enlightened by the spirit that came upon him and now he is able to look at the woman who committed adultery when everybody's judging her and he can say to her, "Where are those that condemn you?" Oh, I don't know. They all took off. Well, neither do I condemn you. Go away. Sin no more. You see, the only way that we can receive this revelation from God is when we don't look by what the eyes see. Did you know that you can tell people something, but your feelings can betray you? How many married people we have here? Oh, honey, I didn't mean that. Your eyes betray you. Yes, you did. You see, our body speaks. Our action speaks louder than words and are known. But you see, the only way that you can walk in that light, the revelation is when the spirit of God is upon you. That is the revelation. That is the light. That is a wisdom that come from above. Now look at how this light came upon Jesus. Matthew 3:16. When he Jesus had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water. And behold, the heavens were open to him, and he saw the spirit of God descending like a dove and a lighting upon him. Now, why do I say that? Because you and I when we were born again, the Holy Spirit came down and descended upon us and a light on us. Did you know that that's what qualifies us? It is that that qualifies. Now I did get baptized. We got baptized at the YMCA in San Pedro and I had a beautiful experience coming out of the water because reinforced but that's not when the spirit came. When I came out of the water, that's when I made a public confession. But the spirit came deny that I was born again. When I confessed my sins and accepted Jesus Christ as my savior and lord, there was an alike, an understanding that came upon me that I wasn't going to hell anymore. Oh man, it felt good. All my sins were forgiven. I am cleansed. And I could I felt like I could walk on water. That revelation cannot come through manmade works. You can repent all you want to. You can do all kinds of natural things. They do not bring peace. They do not bring understanding. They're of the earth. They're of the natural. They go by what you see. Oh, I'm doing good. I read my Bible three days in a row and I haven't said a bad word and I haven't lit up. And so you feel in the natural doing okay. And then all it takes is one little trip. Okay. And now you go again. Now your emotions go all the way. See, that is a natural understanding. That is a natural light. But when we walk in the light, the light is that Jesus loves me. The light is that Jesus died for me. The light is that Jesus saved me. And the light is that Jesus is going to bring me there no matter what takes him between here and there. He said, "I will never leave you. I will never forsake you." His blood will never ever lose his power. And as long as I walk in that understanding and that light, neither my peace nor my joy will ever be removed. There is nothing that Satan can do to take away that assurance of salvation, that peace, that knowledge of his love. That is what it's talking about. Now look at the next scripture. Luke 11:35 and 36. Therefore, this is Jesus speaking and it's related to the uh instance I think that um after being baptized he said therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness. He says make sure this is a command take heed that the lie which is in you is not darkness. In other words, make sure that the lie that is in you is not human reasoning that comes out of a human understanding. Then he says, if then your whole body is full of light, this is a light that come from heaven above having no part dark. That means that there are some parts of us that could be in darkness. The whole body will be full of light as when the bright shining of a lamp gives you light. Talking about the minora when you lit up a huge candle. He says that's what it's going to be like. So then the spiritual principle that I spend this whole page before I bring the message which is going to start right now has to deal with the principle of light and darkness or spiritual revelation or natural revelation. And why is this so important is because our whole world system is founded in the false light. This is why you send your kids to college and when they come out their faith has been destroyed because all of those professor have one aim and one aim in mind and that is to destroy the word of God to destroy the faith of all of those who have placed their trust in the living God. So then uh now what I want to do is I want to bring it to the ancient the people of let's say uh the time of King David about 3,000 years ago. Why was it that the ancient people worshiped the sun? Because the sun is the natural replacement to what God is in the spirit. You see, the sun gives natural light. We saw Jesus using that light and darkness. Be sure that the light that is in you is not darkness. The sun also provided what they ate. You see, they planted their seeds. See, there was no sun. they wouldn't grow. The sun also baked their bricks that they build the houses with. They would take the clay, the mud, they would lay it out to dry it and boy, in one of those hot summer time, they could make a whole bunch of brick and build them a house. So, the natural light or the sun became the source of their life. And so what would happen is they would follow the sun. They would follow the moons. They were fascinated with that. So they found out as they would follow this that the sun after the summer solstice will begin to die. In other words, the the sun the time of the sun will be shorter. And you see that as summer ends, winter begins, the night get longer. Okay? And the sun gets shorter. So when it came down to about the end of December, at that time way back on December 24th, December 25th, the longest night came and the shortest day for the sun. There was snow, there was cold, the sun was so far down there that their crops wouldn't grow. They have to save the seed until springtime. So the very next day when the sun began to be longer again, that was a great time of festival that has been celebrated for you can go all the way back to uh Nimrod back to after Noah and his three son came out of the ark. So there's always been you you can look at it there there were gifts exchanged because they feared that if the sun kept getting shorter and shorter and shorter they will all die because their sustenance depended upon the sun. You need to understand this. This is very this is at the root of everything is that the false light and the real light. Now all of our system today we're refined. We don't say that to the sun and we don't say that but it's the same thing. All of our economy is based on that. If our economy fails then we all lose our jobs or we this happened. So everything works like this. Now I want to go to go to the next page and I'm going to show you how this affected the people of Israel. And this is going to be in the context of spiritual warfare. Spiritual warfare. Spiritual warfare is something that all of us are engaged into whether we like it or not. God, if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your savior and lord, the Bible says that everything that pertains to your life and to your godliness has already been made available for you. Colossians 1 where we read first scripture. You have already been qualified to receive all of this blessing. They are yours. You have been qualified to receive. God has provided them for you. Guess what? Satan does not want you to be blessed to have joy or to receive this blessing. So, Satan, who is the false light, his is a kingdom of darkness, will do everything possible to keep you from receiving the blessing that you have been qualified to. Now, guess who is it left up to to make the decision? Guess what? It's you and me. We either walk by the light of a natural understanding which is called darkness which leads to death or we walk by the light of the revelation of the spirit of God. That is what spiritual warfare is. Satan says you cannot have it. You do not disturb it. You did too much uh uh uh uh damage. You hurt too many people. You betrayed too many people. You're a loser. You'll never amount to anything. This is all in the natural understanding. Okay? in the spiritual understanding says your sins have been forgiven. God has put them as far as the east is from the west and I qualify you to receive every spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus. And there's nothing Satan can do about it as long as I walk in that light. And I'll have to make the fight because my natural senses are going to fight me every step of the way. They are going to fight me. Why? Because the demons are in it. It says the the wisdom of the earth is demonic. It's sensual and that thing will fight me. Now, what's happening over here on this chapter is a a battle, spiritual warfare that they fought way back then. It begins in 2 Kings 3:27. And of course, we're not going to have time to go through everything there. So, I'll just give you some highlights of what's going on. And and if you want to put in the time, you can go ahead and uh and and read it. But look at 2 Kings 3:27. It says, "Then he took his eldest son, who would have reign in his place, and offered him as a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation against Israel, so that they departed from him and returned to their own land." Now something happened in the spiritual realm when this man offer up his son as a sacrifice that caused a great deal of wrath. The word in the nation means wrath to arise against Israel and it kept them from fulfilling the word of the Lord that was spoken to them by the prophet. Now the setting in this sentence is Israel and Judah which are both Jews have become divided. When Solomon died his son that took his place abused the tribes of the north by putting too much taxes on them. So they rebelled against him and Israel became two kingdoms. The north were 10 tribes. They were called Israel. And to the south it was Judah and uh and Benjamin I think it was and they became Judah. So when you see here you will see that they are divided. This message is called, What are some character traits of unbelief. This is going to be a good message. Let's open up in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for the anointing of your word and your presence. We thank you that your word does not return void. We give you the glory, the honor, the praise, and the strength. And we worship you, Father God. And we pray and ask for understanding in this word. We pray and ask for strength to apply it to our lives. For we are more than conquerors. And we pray and ask, Father God, that we recognize the deficiencies within ourselves. And that we press forward into your presence, improving in your holiness and righteousness. Thank you, Father God, in the name of Jesus. Amen. And amen. Okay, let's go to our opening scripture here. This is called, "What are some character traits of unbelief?" We're going to start here in Matthew 17:20-21. And Jesus said unto them, because of your unbelief or faithlessly, for verily I say unto you, if ye have faith, which is which means persuasion, credence, moral conviction, as a grain of a mustard seed or of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, a mountain rising, lifting itself, it's we'll get into that. remove or to change place hence to yonder place and it shall remove and nothing not even one shall be impossible or unable unto you. How be it this kind go out goeth not out by prayer but by prayer and fasting or prayers worship and fasting is absinence voluntary lack of food. My goal for this teaching is to help you recognize some areas that you may have unbelief in. There's areas we believe in, but there are areas we lack and we don't believe in. In other words, we can be a believer in Christ, but still believe a scientist talking about evolution. And I want to share this with you because I want you to understand there are areas within ourselves that we can change to better improve our lives and and help us get closer with God. And sometimes we need to recognize this. Now, to put context into this opening scripture here, just know that this is where the disciples were unable to cast out a demon. And so, they had to give this one over to Jesus. And they asked Jesus, "Why couldn't we cast out the demons?" And he says, "You have no belief. You're you're you're lacking belief. You you don't believe. If you have faith, which is the word faith there means to persuade, credence, moral conviction. You're going to see that in this message. How to convince God you got faith. So, this is a very good message and I want you to grasp a hold of this. Um, and that mountain because when you say this unto your mountain, and a mountain is rising, lifting itself, it's it's like a an issue or a situation that keeps getting bigger and bigger and looms right over you. you know, mountain versus a molehill. It's really a molehill or it isn't even a mountain for most people, but for you it is. Well, this is if you have faith, you can take that mountain and move it from here to there. And that's what Jesus is pointing out to the disciples. And of course, he had to go further because he wanted them to understand that this type of demon is cast out through prayer and fasting. Prayer is worship, meaning you got to worship the Lord. And fasting is abstinence or voluntary lack of food. And sometimes we need to fast. Sometimes we need to worship the Lord. And here's the thing is a lot of people worship the Lord at church, but you don't see them worshiping the Lord in their home. So part of your home activities with the Lord, not just staying in the secret place, but yes, being in the secret place, but you need to have your worship music on. you need to be worshiping because that's what's going to give you the authority and the power to overcome it. Also, there's something about worship and I I I want I've been wanting to teach on this for some time and maybe I'll get into it finally, but I'm not going to do it in this message. But there's something deep inside that happens when you're worshiping the Lord. Amen. All right. Now, there are three I'm going to identify three character traits here in this teaching. There are probably many more. I'm just going with three. I've got to watch my um time on my teaching. I don't want to get too too long. But look, I'm identifying three traits. So, one is no trust. Second, believe the lie instead of the truth. And the third is disobedience. So, these are three traits of unbelief that I'm going to talk about in this message. No trust. Okay, let's start with no trust. Hm. Let's see what the scripture has to say about it. And then we'll I'll go delve into this deeply. Let's start with Proverbs 3:5 and 6. Trust. And the word trust there is be confident, sure, and bold. And who do you trust? In the Lord. Who do you have your confidence in? In the Lord. Who are you sure of? Who do you boldly have confidencees? Is in the Lord. With all thine heart. Your heart is your feelings, your will, your intellect. and lean not unto thine own understanding or your own knowledge. Let's let's stop there for a moment because I want you to get a hold of what this is talking about. You know how you sometimes get a little scratchy throat? As you can tell, I got a little bit going on real right here. And sometimes you say, "Well, yeah, I think I'm coming down with cold. Um, yeah, I think I'm going to be sick." And here's the thing is you you don't have to be. And in fact, this is where I'm at right now. Uh we're we're being spiritually attacked right now. But you know what? I gave it to the Lord and I'm going to keep moving and doing my thing. So the devil's having no effect on me whatsoever. But here's the thing. When you think you're going to get sick, and you know you are. Here's the thing. He says, don't lean on your own knowledge. I remember one time um this is after CO uh this I had gotten CO in that December. So, this is a few months later, probably around May, give or take, and I needed to do a day travel to Los Angeles for my work. And I was going to be traveling on Tuesday. This was a Monday, and I was working from home that Monday. And I had a fever. And I remember taking a nap during my lunchtime. And I'm thinking, I don't have time to be sick because especially after the time of COVID, this is still that that point if you're running a fever, you're doing this. that I'm thinking, "Oh god, you know, I need to go on this day trip. I needed to do this. This was for my career." And I'm like, "I need to do this. I can't just wimp out and say, "Well, now I'm sick. Forget it." No, no, no. I had to go. So, I just told my body, I told the Lord, I told anyone who was willing to listen, I'm not sick. I don't have time to be sick. You know, I got up that next morning, had no fever, went and did my thing, and I moved on, and I never got sick. And that's what the scriptur is trying to teach us is that we don't have to accept what we think we know. We can actually change it. Well, that's part of trust. Do you trust in the Lord's healing, in the Lord's knowledge, in the Lord and the scriptures that he tells us, or do we trust in what we think we know? Because it it is a fact. We would get sick. But we don't have to. And there's the part that we don't know. And this is why the scripture clearly tells us, don't lean on our own knowledge. Don't lean on our own understanding. Verse six, in all thy ways, and that's your road, your course of life, acknowledge. And what that word acknowledge means to know, observe, care, recognize him and he shall direct or straighten even right thy path which is your welltrodden road or caravan. He's going to keep you on the right road. Keep you on the right straight path because you're acknowledging because you know, you observe, you care, you recognize him. You're putting him first. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all the and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33. Very, very important that we understand what the scriptur is telling us. These are different tactics than what we're used to. Because see, we walk in the flesh. We see the flesh. We know the flesh. But what we have to learn to know is the spirit. So, how do you know what the spirit is and what the spirit is going on? You've got to find out in the scriptures. And the more time you spend with God in the secret place, the more he teaches you how to overcome and fight this. You know, as you watch my teachings, and I've been doing this for now a handful of years, several years, and what you're seeing is my progressiveness, my progression in the Lord. You can see the strength improvement, the more overcoming and the more spiritual awareness I'm become, which is allowing me to teach better than what I had done in the past. Amen. So, how do you do? So, let's continue on with scripture to see what else it says. Romans 15:12, and again, Isaiah, which is Isaiah, saith, there shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to rain over to be first. That's what reign over. Be first seek ye first the kingdom of God. the Gentiles. In him shall the Gentiles trust or to expect and confide in him. So let's read this again and again. Isas saith there shall be a root of Jesse and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles. And he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles. In him shall the Gentiles trust. That's what we are. If you're a believer in Christ and you were not born and raised in the Jewish community, you are adopted into the Jewish community because you became a believer in Christ. Christ is Jewish. Okay? Jesus is Jew. And so, we become adopted into that community. So, we're part of that, but we're called Gentiles because we're technically foreigners to we we weren't born in it, but we're adopted. And as far as God's concerned, we're part of that. Amen. So he's saying Paul as he's writing this in the Romans, he's saying that there's going to be a group of people that are going to trust the Lord. That's prophecy over you and me today. Trusting in the Lord with what we have. Hallelujah. Keep that in mind that this is what has been prophesied over us to trust. So do you want to fulfill prophecy and trust in the Lord? So you got to realize that you don't know everything. You don't understand everything. But if you trust in God, he will provide the everything that you're missing. Amen. Amen. So that's bullet number one. That's trust. Now let's look at a second character trait that I'm identifying as part of unbelief. And that's to believe the lie versus the truth. And that's kind of crazy. So let's look at this. We're going to go into 2 Thessalonians 2:11. And for this cause God shall send or dispatch them strong delusion, which is an energetic fraudulence that they should believe or have faith in a lie, a falsehood. There's a lot of people that currently believe a lie right now and they're not believing the truth and they can't understand how we're not believing with them. Seriously, just take a look at Trump. There are people that are so baffled by the people, you know, that support Trump. They just can't figure it out. They think that we're believing the lie when it's actually the opposite. And they just don't understand that. And so, what do you do? You know, these are people you've got to pray for because we need to pray for that. But this is why I'm trying to show you how to recognize that if you're under a strong delusion or not. So, let's continue on in scripture. We're going to break this down here. 2 Thessalonians 2:es 1-3. Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, that ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter, as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means, for that day shall not come except there shall there come a falling away first. and that man of sin be revealed, the son of predition. Now, the reason I wanted to read it that way without the extra words is I wanted you guys to understand and see how this this um deception kind of works. The Thessalonians thought the rapture already happened. And so Paul is trying to explain to them, listen, it hasn't happened yet. You see, communication back then was very challenging and difficult and it could take months before you heard news of anything. So, they were confused in that moment. And so, Paul was writing to them to diffuse that. Well, even today, look at what our media is doing. Um, they're obstructing us. They're trying to keep things from us. This is why I added one of the new empowering prayers to pray for journalists and the media outlets and the media outputs because we need truth in this. And if you notice, there are some um news articles that are coming through that are saying, "Well, if you don't believe in God, I saw one journalist actually, cannot believe he said this." He goes, "You have to know there has to be a God." And I mean, he flat out said that in a a news story that he was talking about, but this is the deception that's going on. In other words, we should be able to see it. So, for example, using evolution again, I I don't know why I'm using that, but I think it's very pertinent. If you go see Ken Ham's ministry, uh, Gen Answers in Genesis, or you see the Creation Museum, or you go see the replica of the of Noah's Arc in Kentucky over there. Very powerful teachings that he's got coming through there to help you understand what the scientific community is doing and why they do what they do. Well, you know, some pastors fell for un because to them, you know, we trust our scientists. Here comes that trust factor of unbelief. This is where we have to be very careful. We think the scientists are doing their due diligence to be good for the world, to show how the world operates. But little do they know, when they don't have Christ in them, they're being manipulated by the demonic spiritual influences that are around in the world. Amen. So here they brought in the teaching of evolution been brought in um well well before Darwin but they've been bringing it in and it got popular at that time which there was a lot of people doing demonic stuff in the the 1800s there but anyways it's historical stuff if you want to go check it out but this teaching came out pastors tried to make it fit into the Bible into Genesis and into well maybe it took this long for God to get to Adam and Eve. No, the Bible has nothing. It says nothing about evolution. Your rock, your foundation should always be the Bible first. So if you hear a trusted scientist say something that just you you you have to stop and you go, "Well, is that in the Bible?" You need to think this way. You need to learn to say, "Wait a minute. Is it in the Bible?" If it's in the Bible, then maybe it's right. Let me see what the Bible says. And then you compare it to the Bible. But if the Bible says nothing about it, it ain't in the Bible. And that's where this deception comes in. And you have to be very careful. Especially like uh homosexuality. People are like, well, they love each other. Love trumps everything. It's got to be good. And the Bible clearly says it's not. It's it's an abomination to God. So whether you understand that or accept it, then what you have to do to say, "Lord, I don't understand what's going on, but I'm going to be obedient to you. You said it's bad. You said it's an abomination. I'm going to believe you and trust in you." But what a lot of Christians tend to do is, "Well, I think it's right. Forget what God says. I'm going to do what I think is right." Which by the way is where disobedience comes in which is another part of unbelief. But I need you to see how if you are not allowing uh the scripture to come in and be a part of your life and look how how Paul says it here in Romans. He's he's interrogating. He's requesting of the pe of the Thessalonians. He says, "Brethren, by coming of the Lord Jesus and by our gathering together," he's talking about the um rapture that ye be not briefly shaken. See, they were shaken, which is wavered or they agitated. Look, in their intellect intellectually they're thinking it happened because they seduced by that because it seemed convincing whatever they heard that was telling them this. It sounds seductive and truthful that evolution makes sense, but when you actually come down to the nitty-gritty of it, how many vessels go into the eye? If we had to evolve, you would have one vessel, maybe two, maybe three. There's like billions of vessels that come into the eye. One eye. That's one eye. And if oh you got all those vessels in there how did the eye survive with only five? It didn't because that's not how it happened. So we have to be very careful. So the intellect has to be settled with God or see and the intellect was shaken and troubled. Look at this. They they were wailing frightened. But look at this. He says that you not be uh uh shaken in mind or be troubled, neither by spirit nor by word. Oh, maybe that was Holy Spirit telling me something. Well, is it in the Bible? The Holy Spirit will always confirm the Bible. There's nothing new coming out of the word of God. If there's anyone like a prophet coming out saying, "Well, I have a word from the Lord that is timely." It should still be a scripture in the Bible because God's not talking anything new anymore. It's in the Bible. Now, he talks to us with dreams and visions, but everything he says has a root in the Bible. You have to believe that. You have to understand that. And then he says, "Nor by letter from us as that the day of Christ is at hand." And then he says, "Let no man deceive." Look at what the word deceive means. seduce, holy, beguile, which is what I was referring to a moment ago. You see, we cannot Oh, that sounds so appealing. Maybe that is right. Is it in the Bible? You have to be able to understand the Bible and uh seduce, holy, beg you by any means, any It could be an article. It could be them talking to you. For that day shall not come because I'm using this as an example. But look at what he's telling you. He's telling you boldly. There's going to be a fall away, a fall falling away, a defection from truth. Are you in that truth right now? Are or are you not believing that truth? Because see, if you're Look at this. It says, "For that day shall not come except there come a falling away, defection of truth." He's talking about the day of rapture. Don't be deceived and think it already happened if the falling away hasn't happened. And by the way, if you're taking a look at the unbelievers right now and people who are caught up in this deception, you will know that the falling away is beginning to happen. That's where we are in the timeline of end time events. Uh and verse and that man of sin be revealed. So uh take off the cover, disclose the son of predition. That is what's going to happen. So that's what's coming and that has not happened yet. This is that part of believing a lie versus the truth. So if you can get to the root of the word of God, you will always be in truth. You've got to stay at the root of the word of God. Now the third character trait that I'm identifying in this message is disobedience. By the way, having no faith is disobedience, which means you've got to have your belief. Unbelief is no faith. So, if you're going to have belief, you've got to have faith. Faith is what make makes things work. But let me show you in in an event that happened in Jesus day. We're going to read Matthew 8 5-10 and verse 13. And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a a centurion, beseeching or calling near, inviting him, and saying,"Lord, my servant lith at home sick of the Pauly grieviously," which is terribly excessive, tormented. He's in torture and pain. And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal, which means adore, relieve, cure him. The centurion answered and said, 'Lord, I'm not worthy or competent, fit, or able that thou shouldest come under my roof. But speak, just say the word. The word meaning said, including your thought only. Just say the word and my servant shall be made whole. For I am under I am a man under authority. I have privilege, force, capacity, freedom. I have sold having soldiers under me. And I say to this man, go and he goeth. And to another, come and he cometh. and to my servant, do this, and he doeth it. When Jesus heard it, he marveled. He wondered. He admired this guy and said to them that followed, to the crowd around him, basically, "Verily, I say unto you, I have not found so great a vast faith." Look what that word faith means. Persuasion, credence, moral conviction. Know not in Israel. And then in verse 13 he says, "And Jesus said unto the centur, go thy way. And as and as thou hast believed, you had your faith, your credit, so be it done unto thee." And his servant was healed or made whole in the selfsame hour. Now, let's go back real quick. I want you to see something very powerful here. Says, "Faith, I did not go back far enough. Let's go back on my screen." Uh, let's see here. Oh my faith. Look at this right here. The word faith, persuasion, credence, moral conviction. That centurion told Jesus, "Listen, I understand you. You know, I have the servant of the sick. I I need him healed." And he's basically saying, "Listen, I know you're a man of authority and you have servants who work for you. And I have I'm a man of authority. I have to report to those higher than me, but I also have people who do my work for me. And basically, I understand the chain of command. And he says, when I tell my servants to do something, they do it. They have to. There's punishment when they don't do it. Same thing with Jesus. He's got his servants who work, they do whatever Jesus tells them to. All the angels will follow Jesus. Demons have to do what Jesus says. There's authority here. So, the the centurion is convincing Jesus, I know what you got. All you have to do is say the word and my servant's going to be healed because you don't have to come to my house. And that's what this word faith means. Persuade, credence, moral conviction. You need to convince Jesus why you think his word should come and and and heal like this centurion did. This is powerful because this tells you what faith is. Which is by the way, when you don't believe, you have no faith. So when you believe, you have faith. But you got to convince Jesus what your faith is made up of. Do you understand the authority he has? Do you believe the authority he has? Are you actually realizing how powerful Jesus is? Have you put aside your unbelief? Do you even recognize that you don't believe? There are things in the world we don't understand. I get that. There's things I don't understand. I don't know this whole Bible. I know very, very little. And that's just enough for me. And again, these teachings are more for me than they are for you. But I'm glad you're joining me in this journey of a lifetime to get to know Jesus and to have belief and to have faith and to be made whole. Hallelujah. This is Jesus. This is whom we serve. So, do we have that belief? Can you put that aside? Because what do you do to do that to help you with that? Let's go to Proverbs. Proverbs 18:10. The name of the Lord is a strong force security tower like a castle or a pulpit or a rostrom. If you don't know what a rostroom or rostroom is, at any platform stage for public speaking, the righteous runth rush run or to make haste run into it and is safe. They're lofty and inacceptable. This is why birds or squirrels, they put their nests so high because they're trying to keep things that can't climb from getting to their offspring. Eagles, they way up there. They put their nest way up there because these are things for safety purposes. So for your safety, for your belief to be strong, you need to be running into the tower, which is your secret place with the Lord. This is where you enter into his presence. You enter into his rightness. You start talking to God and say, "Lord, I need your help with this." There is another scripture that says the centurion came up to him says, "I I believe, but I need you to help me with my unbelief. it. All it takes is going to God and saying, "Lord, I don't understand it." You know, help me understand. And I promise you, if you truly are seeking an answer from the Lord, and you open up the Bible because you prayed about it, you open up the Bible because remember, there's no new words spoken. So, everything you need is in there. You open it up. It doesn't matter where you open it up. You It opens up to a page that you go, "Oh." And he answers what you just asked. And you're blown away. That's how God talks with us. One way of talking with us, he talks with us in many ways. Let's continue on in Ephesians. Ephesians 5 and 6 and verse 11. For this ye you know that no whoreonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man who is an idoltor hath any inheritance, he airship possession in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive, cheat you, or delude you with vain empty words. Remember we were showing how seductive and how you know it you reason it in your mind. You hear what they say, man. Yeah, that evolution seems to make sense, you know, but it's on the surface. You got to check it. You got to go to the Bible and check it. So, this is what Paul is telling us in the Ephesians. Let no man cheat you to lead you with vain empty words. For because of these things cometh the wrath, the violent passion of God upon the children of what? Disobedience. Look at this. Disbelief, unbelief, and have no fellowship. You do not co-articipate. Don't co-articipate with unfruitful, barren works of darkness, shadiness, obscurity, but rather reprove or prove to be false. Admonish them. It's like someone's trying to convince you about evolution and you say, "Well, what about the Bible says nothing about it and they say,"Well, you know, the Bible isn't been proven true. It's never been proven false." You can convincingly show them, hey, well, it doesn't make any sense. Especially when you know the medical anatomy, you know enough to say, hey, you know what? I'm an intellectual individual and I can reason within myself. Do you really think that a pool of drudge, whatever it is that got put together made me an intellectual being? No, no, no. There's something else that had to have made me. You see, now you're reasoning and you're putting it back on them to prove. And of course they can't prove it because it's not biblical. It's not real. This is what we do as righteous being. This is how we keep ourselves safe. This is how we enter in. So question I have for you is do you recognize any of these traits within yourself? Are you having trouble trusting? Are you having trouble believing the lie? Or are you just simply not being able to reason to Jesus, to God whom you're supposed to be praying to? Are you not able to reason in your prayer that I should be healed? You know, maybe you're living in so much sin that you can't even tell God, I I've been doing good, Lord. I shouldn't be sick. By the way, that's really non-scriptural. Look at Job the righteous man and what he went through. But it doesn't matter. See whether you're sick or you see when you are choosing God first, whatever happens at you, you just say I already know God's got it. See, I just taught enter into his rest. So I just enter into his rest now and say, "Ah, he's got it. I don't have to worry about it." This is the power of God. recognize what you're dealing with on the inside and pray and and start with forgiveness. Forgive yourself and ask God to forgive you. Always start with that. And you say, "Well, I' I've repented before. I I don't need to do it again. Job repented for his children every time they had a party." Trust me, if they if Job can do that, you and I can. You know, one of our nightly prayers before we go to bed, my husband and I always repent before the Lord. You just never know. I I want to be right standing with God and I don't want even anything. Go read the seven letters to the churches in Revelation. Jesus identified things they did that was good, but then he would say something like, "But I still have this against you." Well, I don't want God to find anything against me, but I'm in the flesh and I recognize that and I understand that I'm going to do stupid things because that's what we do as humans. But God gave us his salvation. And he says, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things and his righteousness and all these things shall be added. And his righteousness is to build your faith. Get yourself into obedience. That way you are operating in the status of belief and that you are not in unbelief because unbelief is sin." And if you didn't know that, you just learned something new today. I'm hoping this message will help you recognize things and I'm hoping it will help you pray through it and help you change those things that are within you so that you are walking in belief. Amen. Let's close in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word and we thank you for the anointing of your word. We thank you for your awesomeness and your gloriousness, for the power of your word and and for your amazing amazing grace. Thank you, Father God. May we learn from this and operate in belief. Inspired Teaching: John 14:21 “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” When Jesus uttered these words to His disciples it became immediately clear to them that Jesus was making a very special promise to them. When you promise to manifest yourself to someone, it means that you will reveal yourself to that person and not to others. Because if everyone can see you there is no need for you to reveal yourself since you are already visible to everybody. John 14:19 “A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also.” It is within the context of Jesus leaving them and promising them that He would reveal Himself again after His departure, that this conversation is taking place. And it prompted this question by one of His disciples: John 14:22 “Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, ‘Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?’” It is obvious that the disciples wanted to make sure that after Jesus left them, that they would be able to know how and where they could see Him again. Now for those of us who never had the opportunity of meeting and serving Jesus before He went to the cross, these passages of Scripture are very important, for they detail how we can also experience the personal manifestation of Jesus after His resurrection from the dead. Jesus gives us a very important key in verse nineteen: Because I live, you will live also. As we read the previous chapter Jesus is clearly telling them that where He is going they cannot follow, because He is going to the cross to die for their sins. But then He says to them, because I will live, you will live also, meaning I will die for you so that you can live, and if you are willing to die for My cause, you too will live to see Me again. John 13:37-38 “Peter said to Him, ‘Lord, why can I not follow You now? I will lay down my life for Your sake.’ Jesus answered him, ‘Will you lay down your life for My sake? Most assuredly, I say to you, the rooster shall not crow till you have denied Me three times.’” Peter understood the part about dying for the Lord, but he failed to understand the part about living for Him at that time. How many Christians have given their lives for the sake of our Lord’s Gospel this past year alone? It's not easy to die willingly, but for most of those who have given their lives for the Lord, they just did not have the choice to continue living for Him, and they surely were not willing to deny Him, that is why they were killed. Now we know from Scripture that those who are martyred for the sake of their testimony of Jesus are immediately welcome into His glorious holy presence. Talk about manifestation, those who remain faithful to their confession of faith in the face of imminent death, cannot help but to see the fullness of Jesus’ glory revealed to them as Jesus joyfully receives them into the fullness of His joy, before their bodies even hit the ground. But for those of us who remain the lesson is very clear, if we want to see the manifestation of Jesus in our lives we need to die to ourselves. What it really comes down to is love. John 14:23 “Jesus answered and said to him, ‘If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.’” I hear so many people say how much they love someone, but by their actions that sentiment is betrayed. Can persons that abandon their spousal or parental obligations for the sake of following their own self interests really say that they love the ones that they are leaving behind? This is what Jesus has to say about that: John 14:24 “He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.” From God’s perspective true love can only be manifested by our commitment to carry out our obligations to His Word. We can say how much we love God all day long but by our actions we will be judged. Matthew 11:19 “The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her children (the eventual manifestation of her good works).” And the consequences of our actions work both ways, if we are doing what is right and people falsely accuse us of doing wrong—like they did to Jesus—eventually those who do right will be proven right, and those who do wrong will be proven wrong. But those who do wrong will not experience the manifestation of Jesus in their lives, for those who do wrong, do so for selfish ambition and have not died to themselves. We are not talking about perfection here, for if only those who are perfect can expect Jesus to manifest Himself to them, then you can be sure that there will not be any personal manifestations any time soon. What did Jesus mean when He said: He who has My commandments and keeps them...If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word? Now let’s take a look at His words from the perspective of the imperfections of our human nature. When you show up to work everyday, can your boss really say that you are the perfect worker? Even in the remote possibility that you were the perfect worker, they would never say that about you, for if they did, they would have to give you a raise. Ha, Ha! This is what an employer is looking for in an ideal worker: that he/she shows up on time, every time, all the time. That he/she has a general knowledge of what they are expected to do, and a willingness to do it. And that they have the capacity to learn and to progress to a point where they get better and better at what they do. What are the ideal qualifications for a parent or a spouse? Does anybody really expect a husband or a wife or a parent to be perfect? I say not! But a husband is expected to be there for his wife, and the wife to be there for her husband. And how can a father or mother raise a child if they are absent? It is the same in our service to God! We do not get saved to continue in our own selfish way of life. Now that we are saved our responsibility is to the Word of God, to follow His commandments and to keep His Word. We are not perfect when we start, and we will not be perfect when we finish our Christian journey here on this earth. We will be judged by our faithfulness to His calling! Did we show up; in time, all the time? Did we show willingness to serve, and were we willing to change and learn new ways of living? If you work for a big corporation you may notice some apprehensiveness on the part of some of the workers when they know that the big boss is going to be around. That is how some Christians feel when the manifestation of God’s presence is all around them. If you believe that Jesus expects you to be perfect, it would be natural to feel uncomfortable when He manifests Himself to you. But what if He is just looking for you to be honest with Him? John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’” Jesus does not really need perfect workers, does He? He does not even need any workers. What He is really looking for is for you and I to have a trusting relationship with Him. A relationship that is based in mutual love for one another instead of the dread of fear and failure. And there is no better place to have a relationship with Him than to share with Him in the things that He loves so much: He loves us! Humanity, He is for us, wants to be with us, and wants to be in us. He is such a gentlemen that He will not manifest Himself to us if it will make us feel uncomfortable. If we want His presence, then we must truly desire the manifestation of His presence. There may be some of you out there that feel that, perhaps you will never be comfortable enough around the manifestation of His presence. Maybe you were brought up to see our heavenly Father as a fearsome Judge instead of a loving Savior. But think about what is at stake here! John 15:1-4 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean (we need not fear our frailties) because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.” After reading all these Scriptures I hope that you came to the same conclusion that I did, and that is that, intimacy with Him is not really an option, but the essence of life itself. That is if we truly want to be fruitful in our service to Him. The first step is getting down on your knees with a humbled and honest heart saying "Lord I don’t have much to offer you, but what little I have I give to you completely and irrevocably", then show up before His presence in the same manner, everyday, for the rest of your life. Welcome. Let's open up in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you that your word does not return void. We thank you for the revelation of your word and the double portion of what the Sabbath is all about. And I thank you, Father God, for teaching us your word and how to enter into your rest, knowing the miracle that you performed on day six. You are amazing, glorious, faithful, true. Let your word not be snatched out of us. But place your hedge of protection around that word within our hearts and in our soul and in our spirit so we do not forget your word and the revelation that you have given us. Thank you, Lord. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen. Amen. Oh, I've got such a neat new teaching here. It is um fresh revelation is what I like to call it. So, I'm calling this message the intermission double portion. So, let's go into our opening scripture here in Luke 14:3. And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath day? So, we're going to be talking about the Sabbath day here. But one of the things is when you look at Luke here and you we're going to look at Luke um 14 here in John 5 and then we're going to get into Exodus because we're going to need to understand what the Sabbath is about. You're going to see that there is a uh a revelation of a miracle that God performs every week for you and I for anyone. This is a sign that he has given us. And in fact, because Israel messed up with this sign, they owed God 490 years of suffering. Well, they've served 483. They still got 70 years to go. This is about that, but we're going to see it how it applies to the believers in Christ today, as well as how the Lord established it with Israel back in the day. So, and we're going to see how Jesus transforms this because he's the one who established it in the beginning and we're going to get there, but you're going to see him interact with this because you're going to see how the Pharisees and the Sadducees for that matter anyone else missed it. That's what happens. So, you have to spend time with the Lord, dwell in the Lord so you can get it. And it wasn't taught to me. I just got it because it was taught to me by the Holy Spirit. So, let's get in there. We're going to be in Luke 14 here. We're going to read verses 1-6. And it came to pass as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the Sabbath day that they watched him. I want to bring some revelation to that. They watched him. They set him up with this. So, watch how Jesus handles the setup. They are purposely trying to trip Jesus. Okay, watch how he handles it. Verse two. And behold, there was a certain man before him which had the drop seat. Now, keep in mind, he's invited to one of the chief Pharisees and they're having a dinner. Usually, when they're having a dinner, they're not going to bring in somebody with sickness to their table because they're trying to make an impression. Oh, but they brought this man in because they want to set Jesus up. Now watch verse three. And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath day?" And they held their peace. And he took him and healed him and let him go, and answered them, saying, "Which of you shall have an axe, an ass, or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the Sabbath day?" And they could not answer him again to these things. So Jesus put it right back on them. Like there's a loophole here in the Sabbath day. He's saying that if you have a donkey uh or an ox and it falls into a ditch or for that matter, do you not even feed your animals because it's work? But your animals are your livelihood. See, the Pharisees took the Sabbath day as you can't do any work in there at all. But you got to feed your animals. You got to feed yourselves. And feeding the animals requires you to go feed them. Especially when you keep them in captivity for you know milking and and providing the eggs or whatever your animals are. You have to go feed them. It becomes a daily job. But yet we have this Sabbath day that you're not supposed to work on. And the Pharisees are trying to trip Jesus up on you're healing on the Sabbath day. Now I want you to see something. Jesus healed on the Sabbath day. So that means there's something here that the Pharisees are missing and maybe something we're not understanding. Let's go to another event that Jesus did in John chapter 5. Let's go through verses 5 through 18. And a certain man was there which had an infirmity 38 30 and 8 years. First of all, if you have the ability to heal somebody, it's in a talent. You have the gift, the gift of the Holy Spirit. He gives this to you. Heal the people. This man should not have been sick for 38 years. And yet he was. And this is the compassion Jesus had. So let's continue on. Verse six. And when Jesus saw him lie and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, wilt thou be made whole? He's asking this man who's been sick for 38 years, do you want to be healed? Look at the man's answer. This is fascinating. Verse 7, the impotent man answered him, "Sir, I have no man when the water is troubled to put me into the pool. But while I am coming, another stepeth down before me." Let's pause here. Let's set up the scene here. This is at the pool of shalom. And basically what happens is an angel will stir up the water and when you see that and you're sick, you jump in, you're healed. And that was the in fact archaeologists have found the pool of Shiloh in the city of David. So it's a real place. This is a real event that took place. This is not a parable. This is not a story. This is a real event. And Jesus is going to heal this man. So what this man says though, he says um in a way he's saying, let's look at it. He's saying I have no man when the water is troubled to put me in the pool. while I am coming another step it down. So he's he gives the excuse but he's saying I'm trying on my own to get there. So now you're seeing this event taking place where this man who's been sick for 38 years can't get to the water fast enough. He hasn't thought out of the box to try to be on the edge when it's ready. I don't know. He He's in this situation. In a way, he's accepted his sickness of 38 years and he's got excuses. Now, watch what Jesus does because this is this gets real interesting real fast. Verse 8, Jesus saith unto him, "Rise, take up thy bed, and walk." And immediately the man was made whole, took up his bed, and walked. And on the same day was the Sabbath. So, here's the Sabbath day. This is your intermission. by the word. By the way, the word Sabbath means intermission. And this man is healed on the Sabbath. So is another Sabbath day. Another man being healed by Jesus on the Sabbath day where you're not supposed to do any work. Not only is he not supposed to do any work, he's telling this man to get up, walk, and carry your bed. He's going to carry the bed on the Sabbath day. Carrying a bed on the Sabbath day is work, but Jesus tells him to do it. And the man gets up and he carries his bed. He's being obedient to the word of the Lord on the Sabbath day. Now watch this. Verse 10. The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, "It is the Sabbath day. It is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed." And he answered them, "He that made me whole, the same said unto me, take up thy bed and walk." Then asked they him, "What man is that which said unto thee, take up thy bed and walk?" And he that was healed was not who it was, for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in place. So basically, Jesus got out of the way. He So he healed this man. He leaves. This man doesn't know who Jesus is. He gets healed and then he's walking around with his bed because he was told by Jesus to carry it and the Pharisees are saying, "You can't do that." He says, "No, this guy told me to get up and carry my bed and I'm doing that." And they're like, "Well, who is he? I don't know who he is." So now catch up where they're at. They're coming into the temple. Verse 14, afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple and said unto him, "Behold, thou art made whole. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee." Now I want to pause here because this is another entire teaching and teachings I have been teaching on for many times now that the consequence of sin is sickness. So here not only did Jesus physically heal his body, he healed his soul and he's telling him don't sin anymore otherwise it's going to get worse. We don't want it to get worse. Okay. So now coming into verse 15, the man departed. He left the temple and told the Jews that it was Jesus which had made him whole. And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus and sought to slay him because he had done these things on the Sabbath day. But Jesus answered them, "My father worketh." That word workketh means toil, be engaged in, minister about. ministering. This is a Sabbath day, and God still ministers on the Sabbath day. Watch this. But Jesus answered them, "My father worketh hither to, and I work." Therefore, the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the Sabbath, but said also that God was his father, making himself equal with God. So, what are the Pharisees really upset about here? Let we can go down a little further into the root of this. They're supposed to be healing the people. They're not. They can't. Nothing's happening. They've done everything they can. On top of it, they've put themselves in a situation where they have constructed their um ministry to six days a week and the seventh nobody is allowed to get sick and nobody's allowed to have any issues, which by the way is scriptural and we're going to see the double portion of God's miracle make that possible. But here you're seeing there are sick people on the Sabbath. What do you do? So Jesus is showing the world, hey, I'm going to minister. I'm going to heal you on the Sabbath. So there's something about the Sabbath though that we need to get because we got to figure this out. What are this Pharisees doing? And what is God doing? Because there's something here that we should be getting. So, let's go to Exodus 16:29. I want to read this and then I'm going to give you the context of it because there's a lot of scripture that can go with this. See, for that the Lord hath given you the Sabbath. Therefore, he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days. Abide ye every man in his place. Let no man go out of his place on the seventh day. So, right here is where God he established it though at at creation. But here he's teaching the Israelites what the Sabbath is all about. This is where they are in the wilderness for 40 years. They are in this wilderness and God provides mana for them. So first thing he tells them is to go out and grab just the amount that you need. No more, no less. Don't save any of it. So they go out, they grab it. Some grabbed extra. They tried to save it. The next day it was filled with worms and it it decayed. So now God tells Moses to tell them, "Go out and get a double portion on day six because it's going to cover you for day seven. Don't go out on day seven." So now, of course, day seven, some people still went out and Moses like, "You're just not being obedient. God's telling you to be obedient." Now, here's where things get very interesting. God says, "I'm going to give you double portion on the sab on it's a Saturday the or the day before the Sabbath, which I think is a Friday for them. So they have a day before where they're getting a double portion. So when they go to eat on the Sabbath, it's fresh mana, fresh food they didn't have to go work for because God performed a miracle on day six and gave them a double portion so that it covers them for the two days. Now, why does God do that? Let's go further in Exodus. Let's go to Exodus 31. And we're going to read verses 12- 15. And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, "Verily, my Sabbaths," here's that word Sabbath, it means intermission, ye shall keep. For it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify, which is clean, upon holy you. Ye shall keep the Sabbath, or intermission, therefore, for it is holy unto you. Everyone that defileth it shall surely be put to death. For whosoever doeth any work, deput, employment, ministry, therein that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Six days may work be done, but in the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord. whosoever doeth any work in the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. So what is the Lord talking about here? It's a sign. You see, God wants to know you are Lord. Let's read that one more time. This is in verse 13. For it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations that you may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you. You see, God performs a miracle on day six. And if they had kept that because they would have their double portion, everything is doubled on day six. Everything is provided. What happens is when you teach your children, look, God gave me two amounts, one for today, one for tomorrow, so that we can rest tomorrow and still have a full complete meal. It's an intermission between day six and day one. That's what day seven is all about. It's a pause, a pause of ministry, a pause, a sign. But the sign is the miracle. The miracle is that the people when they see the miracle, wow, I only had enough on day five, day four, day three, day two, day one. But on day six, they got a double portion. It's a miracle. And what happens is those that see it know there's a God. And they know he is God. He is Lord. And they receive that. And they begin to have this relationship with the Lord because they're recognizing what the Lord does. He performs a miracle on day six to cover day seven. Now Jesus showed us that he did ministry on that day. So then what does it mean? Does it have to be on day six? Because see now it's something is a little bit different. Jesus changed things up. So, he wants us to see the miracle on day six. He still wants us to have the rest so that we know he's Lord. But what has he done? That's what we got to look at. Let's go to 1 Corinthians 6:19 and 20. What know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are gods. Now, we're seeing something happening here. You are seeing a a new thing from Jesus. Our body is now the temple. The Israelites had Moses built a temple. They couldn't even enter that temple. Only Moses could. And then it would only be the Levi priests going forward. They did not allow it. Now the temple is in us. So our physical bodies need rest. And because we need to have an intermission, what happens? The first thing you get sick. You get tired. You want to sleep. You lay down. Take some medicine. And why did you get sick? Maybe you were running ragged. There are a lot of um beliefs throughout the different cultures. One culture believes going between hot and cold is the reason why you get sick, but people think they get sick because of whatever. You can put your belief in there. What if I told you God allowed you to get that cold because he's trying to get you to rest because your body is his temple. Now watch this. When you dwell in the temple of God, which means he's within you, which means you have to create a secret place. And we're going to go to that scripture here in just a moment. When you do that, your double portion was already given to you the day before. And all it is is now you're filling up with the anointing of the Holy Spirit, with the Holy Ghost. It refreshes you. You are resting. Even if you are in ministry seven days a week, now he tells you to take a whole day. But if you take an hour, 15 minutes, 20 minutes, but you intercede, you break that into your day, that is your double portion rest. Now, you can do this many different ways. You see, if I come into the I spend time with the Lord every morning and I've got certain days that are longer and I've worked it out with the Lord where I spend time in prayer. I spend time in the word. I spend time studying. That is my intermission. That's my rest. That's my Sabbath. And it builds up as each day goes by. I'm an intercessory prayer warrior. But I don't I pray at church on Sundays and I'm just praising the Lord and worshiping him. Saturdays is more like a popcorn prayer because these are my intermission days. This is where the Lord moves. So he moves with me on the days that he has established for me because I am entering into the rest time that I need with the Lord. pausing in the ministry but still knowing that when I prayed on Thursday, Friday, whatever, it will go into the next thing. Now, here's the miracle. I want you to catch this. When Jesus provides the double portion, God provides the double portion on day six, he provides a miracle where remember what Jesus said when your donkey or your ox falls into a ditch. What happens on that day six is the double portion is provided so you have rest. Nothing will interrupt the intermission, the rest, because God already took care of it. So that you're at rest and you're at peace on that day, you set aside for him. So that means every time I go in to dwell in the Lord um in my secret place, which is this room right here, when I go in and I dwell in, the Lord already placed a hedge of protection around me where I'm not going to be interrupted. I'm not going to be disturbed by sudden things. It will happen those things because those things do happen, but it's not going to happen in my intermission time with the Lord. That's the miracle. And why? Because then I know that he is Lord. He's got me. That's what the intermission Sabbath is all about. So that you see the double portion. You see the hedge of protection. A double portion of what? Well, your rest, his hedge of protection, your blessings, everything is there. He gives it to you where you won't get sick because you are dwelling in the secret place. You're giving your body the rest it needs. And it's not just the physical body that is the temple. Your spirit is restored, refreshed, reconciled with the Lord, redeemed. And you recognize that and you are you're feeling great. As you know, I just did a teaching last week where I actually shared our personal testimony and dealing with my mom and her cancer that she's having to deal with. Well, guess what? Look at me refreshed now. Look, it has been a spiritual battle. I mean, everything we've been dealing with, I shared that in the last teaching. Go check it out if you're interested. And it's been an attack and she was in the hospital for 10 days. There was no intermission. So, when you come out of that, and yes, that was battle number one because we were dealing with the blood clots. Now, we're in battle number two because we're spiritual battle now that she has to have chemotherapy for the this cancer. Well, guess what? I love what the doctor said. He says, "This is treatable. This is it. It's only lifethreatening if you don't treat it. All it needs to do is be contained and you will have a full quality of healthy life ahead of you for as many years as you're still going to be here on this earth. So now that we know this is attainable. So we're in the second part. The intermission was I went to the Lord, spent time with him, dwelled in his word, and actually he gave me this revelation right in the middle of all of this. So, I'm sharing this with you so that you know when you're being attacked, once you enter into the secret place with the Lord, you are in that peace. you are in that comfort because you are getting the double portion and allowing your physical body to rest. Because I'm gonna tell you right now, one of the things that happens when you're dealing with a spiritual warfare thing like this, especially finding out bad news, it uh it impacts your psyche, your emotional system. And when your emotions are just out of control, what's the first thing? Usually your defense system goes down. You get sick because you're tired. You're run down. You're feeling all the the attack of everything and it seems like it's the end of the world. But God, let's go to Psalm 91 now. Verses 1 and two. He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the almighty. I will say of the Lord, he is my refuge and my fortress, my God. In him will I trust. Because that's what the Sabbath is about. You're trusting on the double portion of the day before to get you through the intermission that your body, your spirit, your soul needs. And then you know that he is Lord because he has provided. Oh, you can't ask for anything better than this. Amen. So what can you do? How do you establish a day? You can take an entire day if you want and that way your day is established just for you and God and peace and relaxation. Sometimes people like to go on a hike and go up to the top of a mountain and sit down. Let that be your day of intermission. If it's staying in bed for half the day, uh, and then just grabbing some soup or something, take that type of a day. have that day. Dwell in the the secret place with the Lord, but put him first in that day. Go to him. Say, "Lord, today is a day of rest and I'm coming into resting you. I'm going to allow my body to rest. I'm not going to be stressed out because I already know that you provided the double portion of my rest on the day I needed it and then the day after. And I'm doing what your word tells me to do. One, I'm dwelling in the secret place. And two, I'm obtaining the double portion that you have provided me with so I can be sustained as I pause, take the break like you did, Lord, so I can continue on with whatever I need to continue on, which is working, battling, spiritual warfare. I deal with that uh because I'm an intercessory prayer warrior. So these are the things that you can do. Get that time with the Lord. Get your rest. Stop. Pause. Breathe. If it just needs to be an hour, then do that. But listen to the Lord talk to you. He's going to be bringing you into a place where you will have that rest. Amen. He's going to set your world around in a way that you will have that intermission. And I'm gonna tell you right now, you will be better off doing this and being refreshed to do the battle, whatever God has called you to do in your week than if you don't do this at all. Now, I do it as a daily thing because I spend time with the Lord, but at the same time, I have things I have to get done that needs work, but I have day a day where I just, okay, Lord, it's just you and me and nothing else. And then I I give him that day. I even bless the day. I said, "Lord, this day belongs to you. I bless it and give it to you." I encourage you to get in and have that rest with the Lord. You should never be tired. His yoke is not heavy. It's not a heavy burden. It's not uh choking you. It is a light thing. And you should be able to do ministry whenever you're called to do it because he has established a resting period in you by providing you the double portion from the day before because he will always take care of you on that day of rest. And I don't think you will even have any issues come against you because God protected. He wants you to have that rest. And when you make it a point to have that rest, he's gonna stop the whole world and keep them from interrupting your rest because you will know then that he is Lord. Amen. Let's close in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word and we bless your word. I pray that the enemy does not snatch this word away from us, but that it dwells deeply within us. that we apply it to our lives and that we live in the rest that you have given us and be able to still be that soldier or that warrior or that whatever we have to do to either provide for our families as we go to work but we have that intermission the rest that you have given us that you abide and that you've taken care of everything with the double portion from the day before. BLESS THOSE WHO DESIRE TO FEAR YOUR NAME The objective of this teaching is to help believers understand the depth and importance of reverence toward God, as illustrated through the example of Nehemiah. Ultimately, the teaching calls believers to live in the fear of the Lord—a reverent dependence upon His mercy—so that they may walk in wisdom, experience restoration, and carry His blessings into their personal lives and communities. Inspired Teaching: Nehemiah 1:11 “O Lord, I pray, please let your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant, and to the prayer of Your servants who desire to fear Your name; and let Your servant prosper this day, I pray, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king’s cupbearer.” If the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and it is, then a desire to fear His name it should bring to us the knowledge of how to walk in the blessings of God. First let us understand that the fear of the Lord is the reverence that it is due to His name. Unfortunately most Christians have a casual understanding of what true reverence is; now it is true that a father who is in a position of great authority wouldn’t get too upset if his child venture into his office while he is conducting important business, but he would make sure that such a distraction did not happen too often, for that would show him to be incompetent. So that the casual child like attitude that many Christians show towards God, though at times it may not be treated as irreverence by our heavenly Father due to our child like behavior, it is something that definitely keeps us from entering into His office where the business of blessings is taking place. For in His presence, while in fulfillment of His ministry, the protocol of His office demands maturity and self-control. For I was the king’s cupbearer. Nehemiah was a servant to the king. In those days the king had unquestionable authority over the lives of those whom he ruled; Nehemiah was a slave from a conquered nation who had gained the confidence of the king to be one of his many servants that attended to the king’s daily needs. Two things that you did not want to be in those days: one who delivered bad news to the king, or a personal servant to the king who failed to satisfy the king’s request, either one of those could get you killed. The point that I am trying to make is that Nehemiah understood what proper reverence was all about, after all his life depended on it in a daily basis, his actions and behavior towards God are recorded for the benefit of those of us who have a desire to learn how to come before God and into His holy presence in true reverence. Nehemiah 1:7 “We have acted very corruptly against You, and have not kept the commandments, the statutes, nor the ordinances which You commanded Your servant Moses.” A true sign of maturity is when a person understands the difference between the power of holiness and the weakness of sin. The reason why the basic meaning for the word reverence is the word fear, is because fear of not gaining or fear of losing our well being is what is at stake in our relationship with a holy God. After all He is holy and we are not, and without His grace, mercy, and compassion we are at a loss. A heart that deep within itself says, I am not worthy to be anywhere near the holy presence of God, will immediately acknowledge that fact if allowed into the presence of God. There cannot be any level of self righteousness within ourselves in the presence of a holy God. Nehemiah said, we violated the commandments, the statutes, the ordinances, we deserve everything bad that has happened to us, so that there is an inherited fear, respect, and reverence while in His presence that says, we are totally dependent upon Your mercy Lord. Nehemiah 1:8-9 “Remember, I pray, the word that You commanded Your servant Moses, saying, ‘If your are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the nations; but if you return to Me, and keep My commandments and do them, though some of you were cast out to the farthest part of the heavens, yet I will gather them from there, and bring them to the place which I have chosen as a dwelling place for My name’” Nehemiah acknowledges that everything bad that has happened to them is in accordance with what God had promised, so that he is in agreement with the Word of God; but then he pivots and reminds God that along with the judgment God also had promised restoration, that is why he starts his prayer on the basis of God’s promised mercy to those who would acknowledge their sins before God in repentance. Nehemiah 1:5-6 “And I said: ‘I pray, Lord God of heaven, O great and awesome God, You who keep Your covenant and mercy with those who love You and observe Your commandments, please let Your ear be attentive and Your eyes open, that You may hear the prayer of Your servant which I pray before You now, day and night, for the children of Israel Your servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel which we have sinned against You. Both my fathers house and I have sinned.’” What prompted Nehemiah to pray was the bad news that he received from some travelers that came from Judah and Jerusalem. He was told that God’s people were in great distress and reproach, and that the walls of Jerusalem were also broken and the gates were burned with fire. Look at the humble heart of this man of God as he confesses before God the sins of the children of Israel and adds, both my fathers house and I myself have sinned and are responsible for this catastrophe that has befallen God’s servants, the children of Israel. In our opening text Nehemiah asks for prosperity: And let Your servant prosper this day, I pray, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man, but he is not asking for personal prosperity but rather he desires to be prosperous in the commodity of mercy. What Nehemiah is referring to is that after hearing all this bad news he is going to have to go and do his duty of serving the king,;a bad attitude is not going to serve him well in front of a king that does not like bad news. So he asks the Lord of Mercy for mercy when he goes before the king, knowing that he is not going to be able to be the usual cheerful servant that the king is used to. Nehemiah 2:1-2 “...I took the wine and gave it to the king. Now I had never been sad in his presence before. Therefore the king said to me, ‘Why is your face sad, since you are not sick? This is nothing but sorrow of heart.’ So I became dreadfully afraid.” Obviously, the king kept a wide eye upon all his servants and immediately recognized that something was wrong with Nehemiah, not that he was so much concerned about his personal problems as much as he was probably suspicious of those around him when they were not behaving normally, that is probably why Nehemiah became dreadfully afraid. He could have been accused of plotting anything against the king and executed right on the spot, but he had prayed to the God of Mercy for mercy. Nehemiah 2:3 “And said to the king, ‘May the king live forever! Why should my face not be sad, when the city, the place of my father’s tombs, lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire?’” I am pretty sure that the king kept track of all that was going on under his palace and knew that Nehemiah had received foreign visitors, and knew of the bad news that they brought to Nehemiah, so that once he heard Nehemiah’s explanation his suspicion abated. Nehemiah 2:4-5 “Then the king said to me, ‘What do you request?’ So I prayed to the God of heaven. And I said to the king, ‘If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, I ask that you send me to Judah, to the city of my father’s tombs, that I may rebuild it.’” What an amazing story, Nehemiah goes from a situation of been in dreadful fear for his life, to asking for the deliverance of an entire nation in the course of one verse; one can only learn that, from being in the presence of the God of Mercy, for those who truly fear the Lord are also made aware of His great power to impart the blessings of mercy. Notice how Nehemiah says that before he answered the king he prayed to the God of heaven, he probably said to himself, What should I ask for Lord? The answer was what he truly desired in his heart and what he had been praying for: Restitution, for that is what mercy does! In those days when a king asked one of his subjects for a request it was a big deal, for a king could truly make somebody extremely prosperous, but Nehemiah had not being praying for personal prosperity, he had been praying for mercy and restoration for his people. Imagine the surprise that the king had when the request that Nehemiah made was not a request for personal gain, but made on behalf of a vanquished nation. We are told that the queen was sitting next to the king when the request was made, almost like the king looked at the queen and then asked Nehemiah, how long are you going to be gone? If there is one thing that a king understands is the level of devotion that the subjects to his kingdom demonstrate, now he understood what it was that made Nehemiah such a faithful servant to his kingdom. Nehemiah truly valued the security that a well run government offered its citizens. That is why we are commanded to pray for those in authority, for if we understand how the physical authorities function, and how they are suppose to function, and have a healthy respect for the process of governing even under an imperfect human government, then we can live and minister in the house of God, the church, in awed, holy fear and respect for a perfect Sovereign God who governs justly. Nehemiah 13:30-31 “Thus I cleansed them of everything pagan. I also assigned duties to the priests and the Levites, each to his service, and to bringing the wood of offering and the firstfruits at appointed times. Remember me, O my God, for good!” If a government is going to run properly it must rid itself of bias and corruption, a corrupt government will drown itself in its corruption. Nehemiah understood how the principle of corruption could bring down the human government, and he learned that in order for the house of God to be governed well, it also had to be rid of the bias and corruption that paganism brings into the house of God, for that is what eventually leads the contaminated worshipers into bondage. Paganism is to the church what corruption is to the government. And I venture to say that if a nation that was founded on Judeo Christian values, is now under a corrupt government, it is as a direct result of the paganism that contaminates the churches that exist within that nation that are supposed to promote biblical values instead of the human paganism that fosters and tolerates corruption. Think of that, the condition of the church is reflected by the condition of the government that rules over the nation where those churches minister. Makes you wonder, doesn’t? If we want to rid our governments of corruption, then we need to rid ourselves of paganism! It could be just as simple as that. Previous Next Home
