  • THE LAW OF CHRIST | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)

THE LAW OF CHRIST The objective of this teaching is to explore the meaning and application of the “Law of Christ” as revealed in Scripture, showing how it differs from and fulfills the Law of Moses. Pastor Marcos seeks to explain the spiritual principles behind God’s laws, their purpose in revealing His nature, and how Christ’s work introduces higher laws—such as the Law of the Spirit of Life, the Law of Faith, and the Law of Liberty—culminating in the command to bear one another’s burdens and walk in Christlike love. THE LAW OF CHRIST Pastor Marcos Marrero January 1, 1900 Objective: The objective of this teaching is to explore the meaning and application of the “Law of Christ” as revealed in Scripture, showing how it differs from and fulfills the Law of Moses. Synopsis: In The Law of Christ, Pastor Marcos Marrero examines the biblical concept of law not merely as rules and regulations, but as spiritual principles instituted by God for human understanding and transformation. Beginning with the Law of Moses, Pastor Marcos explains that its purpose was to reveal God’s holiness compared to man’s fallen condition, while also showing His mercy, patience, and compassion. He then contrasts the Law of Sin and Death with the Law of the Spirit of Life, emphasizing that Jesus, through His death and resurrection, bridged the gap between God’s holiness and man’s carnality. By fulfilling the Law perfectly, Christ introduced freedom from condemnation and offered new life to all who believe. This naturally leads to the Law of Faith, by which believers are justified apart from works, clothed in God’s grace, and delivered from shame. From there, Pastor Marcos highlights the Law of Liberty, which empowers Christians to boldly live and proclaim the Gospel. Ultimately, all these laws converge in the Law of Christ, summed up in Galatians 6:2: “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” This law calls believers to embody Christ’s love by living selflessly, supporting one another, and walking in the freedom and faith secured by His sacrifice. Inspired Teaching: Galatians 6:2 “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” When we think about a law our minds immediately turn to the rules and regulations that somehow apply, you know, the do’s and don’ts. But we need to understand that when the Bible refers to a law in most instances it is speaking about spiritual principles, for the law is spiritual. Romans 7:14 “For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin.” In the natural, if we really want to understand why a law exists, and if we want to know if a law is a good law, we need to look into the spirit of the law, in other words, find out why the law was instituted to begin with. Why do we have stop signs? It is obvious that if two drivers reach an intersection at the same time, and from different directions, and neither one of them slows down, you know people are going to get hurt. So that the spirit of the law behind a stop sign is to protect the drivers and those who might be around a busy intersection at any given time. If we really want to understand biblical principles, all we need to do is to look at the regulations that govern such laws or principles, for they are there for a good reason. In this lesson we are going to take a look at a few of the different laws or principles that we find in the Bible, and we are going to look at the reasons why God instituted them, in the hope that the better that we understand them, the easier it will be for us to submit to them. Let us begin with The Law of Moses. Why is it called the Law of Moses? John 1:17 “For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” Since God’s laws were given through Moses first, many times when the Bible mentions the law, it is usually speaking of the commandments that God gave us through Moses. You will also hear it mentioned about the law and the prophets, and that generally speaks about the laws that came through Moses and through the prophets of the Old Testament as one and the same law. Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.” What is the spirit behind the law of Moses? Deuteronomy 28:58 “If you do not carefully observe all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear (learn to respect) this glorious and awesome name, THE LORD YOUR GOD.” The law was given to men so that we could understand the very nature of God as we compare it to our own nature. And as we do that, we find that God is holy, and that we are not. We find that God is spiritual, and that we are carnal. We see that God is perfect, and that we are flawed. Jonah 4:2 “...For I know that You are a gracious and merciful God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, One who relents from doing harm.” Our God is also a loving, gracious, and merciful God, as a rebellious Jonah clearly testified as he quoted from the Law of Moses. We are always in need of God’s love, in need of His grace, and of His mercy. We need Him to be patient with us, and slow to anger as He deals with our stubborn nature. The spirit behind the law of Moses reveals that God is perfect and that we are not, but it shows that God is also loving and compassionate, the two things that we are always in need of, which bring us to the principles that drive our next two laws. The Law of Sin and Death, and The Law of the Spirit of Life. Romans 8:2 “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.” In the Law and the Prophets, we see the duality of the problem clearly revealed. God is Spirit, and since we are not spiritual, for we are carnal creatures, there is a great divide between us and God. That needs to be bridged before we can be accepted by God, for the Law requires that we change by becoming spiritual. But how can we become spiritual when we are carnal by nature? The Word of God Who is spiritual had to become carnal or flesh like us in human form, in order to fulfill all the righteous or spiritual requirements of the Law as a human. Since the Law can kill only those who fail it, for it is written in the Law: The soul that sins shall surely die, and since Jesus died, but not for His sins, for He had none, for He is perfect and fulfilled all the Law, so that it was the sins of others that He died for on the cross. But here is the fact that the Law cannot violate the rights of a righteous man. So that if the Law was ever to kill a righteous man it would have to give Him back His life, since the Law is perfect, and it cannot condemn an innocent man. But since Jesus, a righteous man died, atonement was made for sins, and since it was not for His own sins that He died, since He had none, then we must ask the question, whose sins did He atone for on His death on the cross? 1 Corinthians 15:45 “And so it is written, ‘The first man Adam became a living being.’ The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.” Hence the Law of the Spirit of Life was introduced to release all the descendants of the first Adam from the Law of Sin and Death that we all had inherited through Adam’s fall, and at the same time to make us spiritual and acceptable to God through the Law of the Sprit of Life to all who freely accept the pardon that has been offered to all Adam’s descendants who are willing to believe, which brings us to our next law. The Law of Faith. Romans 3:27-28 “Where is the boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.” The work that Jesus completed on the cross for us accomplished two things: First, it fulfilled the Law of God as revealed through Moses and the Prophets, as Jesus told us, I did not come to destroy (the Law) but to fulfill (it). What that means is that Jesus fulfilled, as a human, all the requirements of righteousness that the law demanded from all humans. Secondly, it demonstrated God’s true love for us as revealed in the Law, that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us and removed us from the Law of Sin and Death that we were under by placing us under the Law of the Spirit of Life. But through The Law of the Sprit of Life another law is revealed, The Law of Faith, and the only requirements that we have under this law of faith is that we believe that we have been delivered from Adam’s fall by the atoning work of Jesus on the cross, for this is the law that trumps the sin that caused Adam to fall in the first place. Genesis 3:11 “...Who told you that you were naked?” Spiritually speaking, fruit is the product of what we believe deep within us. In other words, the nature of the fruit that we produce. I am talking about our conduct of course, for it reveals which doctrine we believe. When we are told that Adam took of the fruit that originated from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and ate it, it means that he believed what he was told. That is why God asked him the question, who told you that you were naked? The root of Adam’s sin was that when God created him, God said of him that he was good, even though he was naked, and God did not associate any shame with Adam being naked. When the serpent revealed to Adam the condition of his nakedness and associated it with shame, Adam believed the words of the serpent over what God had said...that was his sin. When Jesus hung on the cross naked, He took all the shame that every human had ever experienced or will ever experience, and He nailed it there for all to see. Adam might had been naked in the natural, but he wasn’t uncovered, for the God that created him, loved him and accepted him as he was, and it was the covering of God’s Word that clothed him, for when God looked at him in his naked condition God declared him good, and it is the Word of God that sets the standards, not the devil nor the world. And so it is for us who believe today as well, we are still naked in the sense that we still dwell in these mortal bodies, and we still have to contend with the devil who accuses us day and night continuously reminding us of our nakedness. But our covering comes through The Law of Faith, for in it we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law. So that what changes is our testimony, we are not naked and we do not walk in shame, for our nakedness has been covered by the grace of Almighty God and nailed to the cross along with its shame. Romans 10:8-10 “But what does it say? The word (the fruit) is near you, in your mouth and in your heart (that is, the word [law] of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (through The Law of the Sprit of Life), you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Since in Jesus we are covered under The Law of the Spirit of Life, and since our only requirement is that we abide by The Law of Faith, that is to believe in the promises of God and to declare our allegiance to them faithfully, that brings us then into another law. The Law of Liberty. James 1:25 “But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.” James 2:12 “So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty.” Therefore we live under the covering of The law of the Sprit of Life, empowered by The Law of Faith, which in turn has placed us under The Law of Liberty that frees us to boldly proclaim the Gospel without any shame or trepidation. So that now we are free to fulfill The Law of Christ! Galatians 6:2 “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Previous Next Home

  • The Power of the Benediction | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)

The Power of the Benediction The Power of the Benediction equips believers with biblical insight into the authority of spoken words, showing how blessings and curses shape lives. Pastor Marcos guides readers to break free from generational strongholds, release God’s promises, and walk in Christ’s redemptive power—using benedictions as tools of healing, restoration, and divine alignment. The Power of the Benediction Pastor Marcos Marrero October 30, 2023 The Power of the Benediction Objective: The Power of the Benediction equips believers with biblical insight into the authority of spoken words, showing how blessings and curses shape lives. Pastor Marcos guides readers to break free from generational strongholds, release God’s promises, and walk in Christ’s redemptive power—using benedictions as tools of healing, restoration, and divine alignment. Synopsis: The Power of the Benediction by Pastor Marcos Marrero is a deep exploration of the spiritual force of spoken words—particularly blessings and curses—and their impact on human life. Drawing from Scripture, Pastor Marcos reveals that just as God created the universe through His spoken Word, believers are entrusted with the authority to speak life, healing, and transformation into existence. The book explains how blessings (benedictions) carry divine power to shape reality, break generational curses, restore what was lost, and align believers with God’s purposes. Pastor Marcos highlights principles such as the Cohesiveness Principle, the Mechanics of the Benediction, and the importance of rejecting negative words while embracing God’s promises. He also addresses how spoken blessings can alter not only present circumstances but even the effects of the past, illustrating the timeless power of God’s Word. Through biblical teaching, practical prayers, and prophetic insights, The Power of the Benediction equips readers to recognize their God-given authority, to use words responsibly, and to walk in the fullness of God’s blessings for themselves, their families, and their communities. Sample first pages of the Book/Manual: THE POWER OF THE BENEDICTION Leviticus 9:23 "And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of meeting, and came out and blessed the people. Then the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people." We are living in the age of power, since the industrial revolution took place. It seems that machines just keep getting bigger and more powerful. It is amazing to see the great wonders that human engineering has accomplished, not only in size and power, but also in scope and complexity. We have machines that can strip and remove entire mountains, and machines that can tunnel under the mountains, even under the sea to connect land masses. We even have machines so delicate that they can do surgery on a human body. They are even coming out with machines that can read our thought patterns. But the most powerful force in the entire universe is not generated by steam, electricity, or even man's ability to harness nature's wonders. The most powerful force in the universe resides in the words that come out of the human mouth. How can that be possible you may ask? Let me ask you this, what was the power source employed to create the entire universe? It was Words! Uni—Verse! “Let there be light—energy!” Hebrews 11:3 "By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible." According to science, everything that exists in the universe came into being through the release of a tremendous amount of energy that came out of nothing that was visible; but they do not know what caused that energy to be released, but the Bible emphatically tells us that it was the spoken Word of God. Genesis 1:3 "Then God said, 'Let there be light (energy)'; and there was light." (Parenthesis and bold added by me for emphasis unless otherwise stated.) The earth, or that which is tangible, was without form and void. That is it could not be ascertained, measured, or comprehended, for it was darkness from the face of the deep, and it took the spoken Word of God to give it form and to bring it into our physical reality. Thereby clearly setting the principle; it takes words to bring forth that which does not exist into our physical realm. Words of faith in the principle that God has clearly established when He created the entire universe. John 1:1-3 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He (the Word) was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him (the Word), and without Him nothing was made that was made." Everything that now exists came into being by the spoken Word of God that we can better grasp the personality of the Word that created everything. The Word became flesh Himself in human form and interacted with His created humans to let us know about this principle that not only created everything out of nothing, but also continues to sustain the creation as well. John 1:14 "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." What that means is that the power that created everything that now exists, resides in a human physical body that demonstrated the power of His spoken words in both His natural body before He died and was resurrected from the dead, as well as in His resurrected glorified body that now sits in heaven at the right hand of God interceding for us. When we speak His Word, we too can bring about the creative force that makes physically real that which in the natural does not yet exist. Colossians 1:15 "He (Jesus, the Word that became flesh) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation." What that means is that Jesus is our new prototype, just like in our natural birth we all inherited Adam's fallen nature in our new born again experience we all become partakers of the divine nature of Jesus, who is the last Adam. 2 Peter 1:3-4 "As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises (words), that through these (words) you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust." If we know Him who created everything through His spoken Word, and if we understand that through His spoken promises to us we can be partakers of the divine nature that is able to create something out of nothing, then we can surely understand why Peter calls them great and precious promises. John 14:12 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father." Jesus doubles down and clear as day tells us that those of us who believe in Him become partakers of His divine nature. Therefore, we are able to do the same creative works that He did—and not only that—even greater works will be possible for those who believe because He is next to our Father in heaven interceding for us. Since the power that created and continuously sustains everything that resides in the Word, and since we are now one with The Word that became flesh, Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord, then it becomes very important for us to know what that power is, how it functions, and what our responsibilities and calling are in regards to how we are to administer that power that has been vested in us who believe. Hebrews 5:11, 14 "Of whom we have much to say, and hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing...But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil." The of whom, is Jesus, The Word who created everything and who became flesh, and the hard to explain part is about the creative power that we have inherited in Him through His divine nature. It is hard to explain because of us having ears that do not want to hear because it does not come natural to our senses that words can be so powerfully creative. But the Lord wants to train us in how to utilize this tremendously creative force, that by reason of use we can make our senses to discern the importance of this gift and our responsibilities to it. For as we become able to discern between good and evil, God is able to use our words as a mighty weapon for the benefit of mankind. In this book we will put our emphasis in the impact that both blessing and cursing words have upon humanity as a whole, and on individuals in particular. We will explore the mechanics of how and why, and what our responsibilities are as we mature in our understanding of this creative process. THE COHESIVENESS PRINCIPLE Ephesians 4:15-16 "But, speaking the truth (God's Word) in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love." The first thing to notice is that in both, Hebrews chapter five, and here in Ephesians four, the theme is the maturity of the body of Christ. Hebrews 5:14 uses the words full of age, Ephesians 4:13 uses the words a perfect man. And in both cases the maturity of the body depends on how well connected that particular part of the body is to the head, that is, to Jesus Christ the Word that became flesh. Since we are dealing here with principles that transcend our humanity, let us take a look at the big picture first, before we apply it to the personal level. Colossians 1:17 "He is before all things, and in him all things hold together." KJV Let's go big here; by in Him all things hold together, Paul means the entire universe; which makes sense, since the entire universe was created by Him. Whatever thing there is that exists, was not only created by Him, The Word that became flesh, it also sustained and kept together by Him, God's Word; be it things that are visible or of the invisible things that He also created! Colossians 1:16 "For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him." Here is the foundational principle that we need to understand. If all things that exist were created and are sustained by the Word of God, whether visible or invisible, personalities or principalities, then they can either be undone or augmented by the same force of words that formed them and that sustains them! Through the process of speaking the truth in love, that is why love and maturity are required. We do not want to go around undoing or changing things that we do not understand. You do not want to go into the control room of a nuclear reactor plant and start pushing buttons and pulling levels just to see what they do, do you? Of course not! It is the same when we handle the creative power of the Word of God. Colossians 1:10 "That you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God." Now to the personal level, whether we know it or not, our daily lives are impacted negatively by words that have been spoken against us personally, against our race, national origin, against our religion, against our culture, or a combination of things. To walk worthy of the Lord and to fully please Him we need to nullify those cursing words, but first we need to know what they are and where they came from. Here is a fact worth knowing, all authorities derive their power to rule from the dictates of words. That is what jurisdiction means. Jurist means law and diction means words and that is the law of the spoken word that all those who rule must follow, as well as all created things. • DEEP AND SECRET THINGS | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)

DEEP AND SECRET THINGS To demonstrate that God alone reveals the deep and secret things hidden from human understanding, and that His wisdom not only discloses mysteries like Nebuchadnezzar’s dream but also reveals His sovereignty over times, seasons, rulers, and the unfolding of history. The goal is to encourage believers to seek divine wisdom and discernment through God’s Word and prayer, recognizing that understanding the present age requires grasping God’s eternal cycles and purposes. DEEP AND SECRET THINGS Pastor Marcos Marrero Objective: To demonstrate that God alone reveals the deep and secret things hidden from human understanding, and that His wisdom not only discloses mysteries like Nebuchadnezzar’s dream but also reveals His sovereignty over times, seasons, rulers, and the unfolding of history. The goal is to encourage believers to seek divine wisdom and discernment through God’s Word and prayer, recognizing that understanding the present age requires grasping God’s eternal cycles and purposes. Synopsis: In Deep and Secret Things, the account of Daniel and Nebuchadnezzar’s dream is used as a foundation to highlight how God reveals what lies hidden in darkness and grants understanding to His people. When the king demanded the impossible—both the content and interpretation of his dream—Daniel sought the mercies of God, who responded by revealing the secret in a vision. Daniel’s immediate response was to bless the name of the Lord, acknowledging that wisdom and might belong to Him. The narrative emphasizes that the revelation was not only about the king’s dream but about God’s sovereignty over human history: He changes times and seasons, raises up and removes kings, and governs world events in accordance with His divine plan. Daniel’s vision connects directly to God’s authority and the unfolding of prophetic cycles, revealing that history is neither random nor accidental but driven by God’s purposes. The teaching then draws a parallel to modern times, suggesting that we live in an age where rebellion against God’s Word has opened doors for demonic influence, reminiscent of the days of Noah. Just as Daniel’s prophecy spoke of iron and clay not mixing—symbolizing spiritual corruption mingling with humanity—so too today’s world is marked by compromise and infiltration of evil. Ultimately, the revelation of deep and secret things is a call for believers to seek God’s wisdom and prepare for the end of the age. Those who walk in God’s understanding will shine with eternal brilliance, turning many to righteousness, as Daniel promised. Would you like me to also condense this into a shorter, two-sentence synopsis you could use at the beginning of a teaching chapter, or keep it at the fuller explanatory level? Inspired Teaching: Daniel 2:22 “He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness (that which is hidden), and light (understanding) dwells (originates) with Him.” Daniel, along with the many wise men of Babylon were being rounded up by the king’s soldiers in order to be put to death. Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, had a very disturbing dream, so he called on his wise men to tell him the interpretation of his dream. But for some reason the king doubted the reliability of his wise men, so he added a caveat to his request: If you can tell me what I dreamed, then I’ll know that your interpretation can be trusted. Daniel 2:5-6 “The king answered and said to the Chaldeans (his inner circle of wise men), ‘My decision is firm: if you do not make known the dream to me, and its interpretation, you shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made an ash heap. However, if you tell the dream and its interpretation, you shall receive from me gifts, rewards, and great honor. Therefore tell me the dream and its interpretation.’” You can hear the desperation in their voices as they tell the king that what he is requesting of them is impossible for any man to produce. Daniel 2:10-11 “The Chaldeans answered the king and said, ‘There is not a man on earth who can tell the king’s matter; therefore no king, lord, or ruler has ever asked such things of any magician, astrologer, or Chaldean. It is a difficult thing that the king requests, and there is no other who can tell it to the king except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.’” The king would not take no for an answer, so he began to round up his so-called wise men and the executions began. Daniel 2:13 “So the decree went out, and they began killing the wise men; and they sought Daniel and his companions, to kill them.” There was a certain criteria, that if met, would qualify a person to be designated as a wise men. They had to be of a good lineage, educated, wise, trainable, healthy, gifted, and good-looking. Daniel 1:3-4 “Then the king instructed Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs, to bring some of the children of Israel and some of the king’s descendants and some of the nobles, young men in whom there was no blemish, but good-looking, gifted in all wisdom, possessing knowledge and quick to understand, who had ability to serve in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the language and literature of the Chaldeans.” When Israel was conquered and the Israelites were taken into captivity as slaves, some of the young captives were set apart under this category, which included Daniel and his companions. So when the decree was given to kill all the wise men, they started with the least of them, those on the bottom of the list of those they qualified as wise men, in the hope that those on the top of the list of wise men, the Chaldeans, would get the message that the king was serious. Now Daniel was not privy to what had taken place in the king’s court, so when they came to kill him, he wisely asked the reason why they were going to kill him and why it was so urgent a matter. Daniel 2:14-15 “Then with counsel and wisdom Daniel answered Arioch, the captain of the king’s guard, who had gone out to kill the wise men of Babylon; he answered and said to Arioch the king’s captain, ‘Why is the decree from the king so urgent?’ Then Arioch made the decision known to Daniel” Once Daniel became informed, he went before the king, asked for time, and told his companions to pray and to ask for God’s mercies, so that they would not have to perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. Daniel 2:19 “Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. So Daniel blessed the God of heaven.” As we read this story, our natural tendency is to place our focus on the secret that was revealed to Daniel, in regards to the revelation of what the king had dreamed. But if we take a closer look, the secret that was revealed to Daniel involved a lot more than what the king’s dream was. How do I know? Daniel’s blessing of the God of heaven reveals that. Daniel 2:20 “Daniel answered and said: ‘Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His.’” In our present-day way of thinking, we do not put much stock to the meaning or value of a name. But throughout much of history, everything about a person hinged on the reputation attached to his or her name. Perhaps the closer that we can come today in regards to the value of a name, is if we see it as a password that allows us access to great and unknown mysteries. So it is no wonder that the first thing that Daniel blesses and gives thanks for is the name of God, which is what allowed him access to God to begin with. John 16:24 “Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” The most important thing that Jesus has given to us is His name. For it is the name of Jesus that grants us access to the heavenly court. Since the name of God reveals His nature, the first two qualities of the name of God revealed to Daniel is that God is all knowing and that He is all powerful: Wisdom and might are His. Since God knows everything, He knew what the king’s dream was, since it was God who gave him the dream to begin with; and He had no problem revealing to Daniel. But Daniel’s blessing of the name of God goes much farther than just knowing about the dream of a king who had trouble sleeping. Daniel learned a lot more in his night vision that meets the eye. Daniel 2:21 “And He changes the times and seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.” The second part of the revelation to Daniel was that, the God who knows everything is willing to give wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. And in order for us to receive the wisdom and the knowledge that comes from God, it requires that we have a basic understanding of how He changes the times and seasons, and how God is in complete control of their outcome. It is through our understanding of the times and seasons that He reveals the deep and secret things to us, as in our opening text, for He knows what is in the darkness and light dwells with Him. Everything that is going on in the world right now is a direct result of the times and seasons that our Lord has set in motion from the foundation of the world. Nothing that is happening is happening out of chance, be it personal, corporal, or natural. If we want to understand the times that we are living in, we need to understand the timing of God’s seasons and cycles. According to Daniel, one of the ways that we can observe the changing of the cycles is through the process of the raising and the removing of kings and their kingdoms. The dream itself revealed as much, to where we can follow Daniel’s interpretation of the dream to our very present day. Daniel 2:43 “As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they (demonic entities) will mingle with the seed of men (the human race); but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay.” We are living in the midst of the greatest demonic infusion into our earthly realm since the days of Noah, when the Lord had to destroy every thing that had the breath of life in it. The sin of rebellion—which is as the sin of witchcraft—opens the doors to these abominable creatures to enter into our physical realm. The nations of the world have already decided that which is sin, according to the Bible, is acceptable and normal behavior to them. This world-wide rebellion against the precepts of the Word of God is what allows they, these demonic entities, to mingle with the seed of men. 2 Peter 2:4-6, 9-10 “For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly...then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment, and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority…” We have presently come full cycle to the past judgments and it is our turn now. These deep and secret things have been revealed to those of us who seek for the wisdom and understanding that comes from God and His Word. It is time for us to put our houses in order, for the days of the end are much nearer than we think, let us be wise in the wisdom of God. Daniel 12:3 “Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.” Previous Next Home

EARS TO HEAR Equip believers to “have ears to hear” the Holy Spirit, recognize God’s glory and guidance in both the spiritual and natural realms, and respond in obedience so they can walk in their God-given destiny, avoid snares, and be ready for Christ’s soon return. < Back EARS TO HEAR Pastor Marcos Marrero November 24, 2006 Objective: Equip believers to “have ears to hear” the Holy Spirit, recognize God’s glory and guidance in both the spiritual and natural realms, and respond in obedience so they can walk in their God-given destiny, avoid snares, and be ready for Christ’s soon return. Synopsis: Opening in worship and prayer, the message calls the church to spiritual alertness: Jesus is coming soon, and the Spirit is speaking now. Using Psalm 19, the teacher shows how God’s glory and voice are constantly revealed—both in the heavens (spiritual) and the firmament (natural). Like the sun that none can escape, God’s revelation is always present; our task is to tune our “receiver” to His frequency. The teaching contrasts spiritual wisdom with simplicity/foolishness (Psalm 19:7–14; Proverbs 1:1–7). God’s Word converts the soul, enlightens the eyes, and warns us; if we heed it, we gain reward and freedom from dominating sins. Ignoring the Spirit’s rebuke invites avoidable calamity (Proverbs 1:20–33). Believers are urged to cultivate an intimate relationship with God (the “law of your mother”) and also learn to recognize His broader, Spirit-language guidance for the church and the times (the instruction of the Father). Romans 2:12–16 underscores that God’s moral law is written on human hearts; how much more accountable are believers who have Scripture and the Spirit. Destiny is described as God’s prewritten “blueprint”; only the Holy Spirit holds the full file and can lead each person into it. Therefore, hearing and obeying His voice—not mere activity—is essential. The message emphasizes deliverance and inner healing as prerequisites to destiny: the Spirit exposes secret faults, generational patterns, and strongholds so the Lord can heal the brokenhearted and set captives free. Finally, Numbers 28:2 introduces God’s “appointed times.” Seasons of open doors require focused obedience and readiness; missing them can mean costly delays. The word closes with a pastoral charge to reject distractions, pursue wisdom (especially in Proverbs), heed rebuke quickly, and engage in prayer and consecration so that God may entrust greater glory and assignment in these last days—followed by a prayer for healing, freedom, and steadfast response to the Holy Spirit. Inspired Teaching: How's everybody tonight? Blessed. Amen. Praise God. God is good. Hallelujah. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus, what a privilege and honor it is to come in and uh and to celebrate you, Lord Jesus, for you are life. The word says that in you we live and move and have our existence. Without you, we're dead. Without you, there's no life. Without you, there's no joy. Without you, there's no peace. Without you, there's no uh uh life, light, nothing. Lord, everything will be so dark and so dreary without you. So, we do thank you that you are the light of the world. And we pray Lord that you will your life will arise tonight within our souls, within our hearts, Father God, that we may be able to hear for the Holy Spirit is speaking and he's speaking loudly and he's speaking forcefully and he's telling us that you are soon to come, Lord Jesus, and that we are to get ready. So, as we prepare tonight, Father in heaven, I pray that that you would bless each and every one of us here tonight, including myself, that you would grant us ears to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to us tonight, that we may be able to understand and to receive with our hearts. Father God, not just with our minds, but with our hearts what the Holy Spirit is impressing on each and every one of us here tonight. Father, I take authority over every uh demonic stronghold, Father God, that may be over any of us over here tonight that will keep us from hearing what the Holy Spirit is saying. I bind it, Father God, according to the word of Isaiah. I condemn every spirit that will keep us from hearing the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ, Father God. And I thank you and I praise you, Father God, for releasing us now to receive, Father God, the truth of your word, Father God, as spoken through the gospel of Jesus Christ by the Apostle Paul, Father God, when he proclaimed your gospel that you gave to him personally. And we thank you for we receive no other gospel, Father God. We receive no other Jesus and no other spirit, but that the true and living son of God, the word that came flesh, Father God, and we receive him now right here in our midst, Father God, to teach us and to lead us and to guide us into all truth. For your word, Father, is true. So bless your word now as he goes out and thank you for blessing those of us who will receive it. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Amen. Praise God. Hallelujah. We're going to start uh with Psalm uh 19 vers uh well actually we're going to read the whole psalm but we're going to read the first four verses in Psalm 19. And what I'm uh the Lord has given me to share with tonight is about having ears to hear what the Holy Spirit will say to the churches. If you read in the um uh the letters uh the seven letters to the churches in revelation in I think it's revelation chapter 2 and chapter 3 each letter closes with let him who has ears hear what the spirit is saying to the churches. We need to understand that the Holy Spirit is speaking and that we need to be able to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying and able to uh and to be able to understand because how many know that if if we miss a sign in the freeway or on the street, we can get into trouble. You know, they pass this new year coming up, there's going to be all kinds of new laws that are going to be in the book. And none of us are probably going to know what the new laws are. But guess what? We break it, we pay for it. Whether we know it or not, it doesn't make any difference. We're liable to that. And so it is with the word of God. We need to know what the word of God says. In Psalm 19:es 1-4, it says, "The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament shows his handy work. Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth and their words to the end of the world. What David is saying there that the heavens speaking about the spiritual realm declare the glory of God. The glory of God is a revelation of God. When when God reveals himself, there's light. There's a glorious radiance that God brings forth when you are full of God's glory. God's character is in you. You see the uh the blessings of God, the anointing of God, the the infilling of God, the promises of God, that's what walking in the anointing is or walking in the glory. When Jesus walked on the earth, he walked in the glory of God. We saw the the eternal glory when he went to the mouth mount of transfiguration and he shone brighter than the noonday sun. But actually he was the manifestation of the glory of God everywhere as he went. He was a manifestation of the glory of God when he was pe healing people. He was the manifestation of the glory of God when he was on the back of the boat sleeping. He was a manifestation of the glory of God when he hung naked on the cross. All were different aspects of God speaking to us. And then of course the day that he rose from the grave, that was the fulfillment of the glory. And every single one of us that believe that Jesus Christ is our savior and lord one day will rise up. We will be filled with that glory. But God speaks uh uh speaks to us to walk in that glory right now. See the glory is the anointing. the anointing. When Jesus went, every went, everywhere that Jesus went, demons manifested. He went to the synagogue, the synagogue ruler began to manifest. Why? Because the glory of God was in it. And that glory was known by the spirits that were in the room. And you see, you could just to the natural eye just be yourself. But when you walk in with the anointing of God into a room full of darkness, believe me, that darkness will know that somebody that has the glory of God living in his presence. Hallelujah. You're going to ruffle some feather. You're going to get some dirty looks or you're going to get some reaction, you know, when the glory of God is in you. But the glory of God has to be received. And if you notice over here, it says that the the heaven, the spiritual realm declares the glory of God. And then it shows also the firmament. The firmament is a physical. When you look at the at the heaven, you'll see the stars, you see the clouds, you see the sky. That also speaks of the glory of God. So here we have two kinds of of glory. one that is spiritual in the heavens and one that is um um uh that is visible. And then he said day onto day verse two utter speech that's speaking about uh there's revelation coming out during the day and night unto night it reveals knowledge. And then look what it says in verse three. There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard. There's no place on the earth where you can go that you can hide from this glory that has been revealed. And it doesn't matter whether you don't understand English or you don't speak Spanish or you don't speak Chinese. Anywhere you're in the world, that voice speaking. You know why? Because it's speaking to your spirit man. And your spirit man only knows one language. See, all spirits speak one language. flesh is is that that's where the languages were divided in in in habel and a tower of babel babel where where the there was a confused but our spirits speak the same language you see all of us humans I don't care where you're at can can can tell when we're loved and when we're not we can tell when we're rejected and when we're accepted those things don't need language to tell you don't need no language to know that somebody really cares for you may not understand a thing they're saying But you can see it on their eyes. You can see it on their compassion. The same way if they hate you because spirits speak a different language. So here we have the manifestation of two revelations of speech. One is spiritual and one is physical. God speaks through both. God speaks through us through the spirit realm. This glory is being shown forth and then he also speaks through the little things. Have you ever just turned having happened to turn the radio on at the right time and and I remember before I got saved when the Holy Spirit was dealing with me, I was driving this uh motor home. We were going out to Yuseite or some place and I was desperately to to to hear something good. No music was playing. All I could find was a gospel station. I don't care where I would turn it, the preacher will always say, "Would you like to be saved and know it?" You know, I was a Catholic. I I believe I didn't need to be saved. I was already saved. You know, I didn't understand salvation. I didn't understand conversion. And so anywhere as I turn, the Holy Spirit will speak and will say, "Would you like to be saved and know it?" "Would you like to be saved and know it?" And yeah, would somebody tell me what it means to be saved? You know, it was like God. But but God speaks to you through a thing. You know, you could be going by a billboard and there's a big message over there and it's just for you. So God uses the physical realm as well as the spiritual realm to speak through us. Now uh at the end of verse uh four he says in them and if you have the notes there you see that I have a list of the heavens that I have in them in them in the physical realm God has set a tabernacle for the son. Verse five, which is like a bridegroom going out of his chamber and rejoices like a strong man to run his race. His rising is from one end of heaven and his circuit to the other end and there is nothing hidden from his seat. Now God is going to say my glory, the spiritual glory of God so that you can relate is pretty much like the sun. You can't hide from it. There's no place on earth where you can hide from the sun or even from the stars when when the sun is on the other side. Uh uh just like God set up a light a physical light which is the sun our star and it radiates and it gives life to with things and says that's what my glory is. You can be in the darkest cave you can be in the deepest ocean. You can be in the deepest forest. You know, sometimes one time I was we were going on an airplane to u San Louis Rio, Colorado. We were building a church there and it was so dark and gloomy and we took off of Compton airport. The church had a plane and when we broke through the clouds and got on top, it was like, oh my god, the sun was out and it was so bright, you know, because the clouds were white on the top and you could see and when you're below the clouds, it looks so dark and so gloomy, but yet the sun was up. And that's what God is saying. My glory is always there. Even when you're going through your darkest time, even when you're going to to where you cannot see anything, my glory is always there. Just like the sun. And the storms are not forever, my friend. The clouds are not there forever. There are seasons. That's what the sun was given for season. So we go through seasons when we cannot hear like we would like to hear or when we do not experience the glory of God like we should. But what God is teaching us that we need to learn to hear God speak to us even when there's clouds, even when there's darkness, even when there's gloom. You see, because God is speaking continuously. He says, "Tday and night, they utter speech." Now, all of a sudden, this psalm takes a complete turn. And in verse seven, it departs from everything that it was talking about the creation. And he says the law of the Lord is perfect. So you see he was given us something physical so that we could relate to something spiritual. The Lord the law of the Lord is perfect. Converting the what? The soul. See that's what God God is in the business of conversion. Did you know that we got messed up? You know, Adam and Eve, they they took the wrong turn. And ever since that day, humankind has been going downhill, okay? We we we're going the wrong way. You know, when I got saved, it's like God somehow had this super laser kind of thing. He just cut my my skull here just like a neat thing and like he lifted it up and he took my brain and he turned around and he put it back in and he closed it. That's how I felt when I got saved. It was like all of a sudden, oh man, wow, I can see now. You know, it's just like everything was messed up, but all of a sudden everything is right. That that's what salvation, that's what God is in the business of. And what does he do? He speaks. God speaks. How can they know unless you send somebody to preach there or to speak it? And so he gives us a uh you know a revelation of the spiritual with the physical heavens. And then now he comes in and he speaks about his word. He says the law of the Lord is perfect converting the soul. The testimony of the Lord is sure making wise the simple. Every time you would hear, and we're going to go to Proverbs in a little bit, but every time you hear the Bible using the word simple or fool is speaking about somebody who lacks spiritual understanding, you need to understand this because you can be Bill Gates and have billions and billions of dollars and if you don't understand the spiritual principles or the spiritual laws of God, you're a fool. Okay? We have to understand this is not talking about how smart you are, how street smart or college smart or how wise you are or how sharp or how you slow. When the Bible calls you simple, meaning you don't understand spiritual principle, you're not listening to what the Holy Spirit is saying. This is what the Bible calls the fool. The fool has said on his heart, there is no God. Why? Because he is blind to everything that's going. How can you not know that there is a God? You just need to look around. Look in the mirror. He's even joke. He likes to joke around. Just look in the mirror. Sometimes you'll see that God has a great sense of humor. He makes some people gray hair. He makes some people no hair. You know, he just has a great sense of humor. But but God is is is speaking and he says if you are not listening to the words that I speak to you, you're a simple that means you you have no spiritual understanding. you're a fool because you lack the knowledge and God doesn't want us to be in that condition. Let me read again Psalm 19:7 and we're going to go through uh through verse 10. It says, "The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul. The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise and simple. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart, and the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever. The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous allto together. More to be desired are they than gold. Yeah, that much fine gold. Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. You see, the word of the Lord is what man was created to indwell. You have to see this. It it talks about I think it's Psalm 95 and it talks about in Proverbs the Holy Spirit is speaking through I don't know if it was David or Moses. I think it was Moses who wrote Psalm 95 and David who published it and and then the writer of Hebrews which was probably Paul when they speak through the Holy Spirit the word of God says a body you prepare for me. See, the word of God, the glory of God, needed a physical house to dwell in. You see, if you go to space and you wear your regular clothes, you're going to fray. There's a vacuum in space. Your eyes are going to pop out and you're going to just explode. So, if you want to go into outer space, you better wear a suit. And this suit better have a cooling system in it and have oxygen and everything. If you're going to go down to the deepest ocean, you better have something there. You see, you need to the environment that you're going to, you need to have something to to be in that environment. Well, you see, a spirit, which the word of God is spirit, and God is spirit. In order to operate on the physical realm that God has created, you need a body. That's why demons are going after humans. They cannot experience. I mean, imagine being invisible and seeing a being having all of your senses and everything and being hungry and seeing this big old juicy steak, you know, and man, you can even smell it and you want to eat that thing. You can't get it. You can't get it. You're hungry. You're dying of thirst. This is what spirits are. This is why uh demons are Jesus said when they're cast out of a person, they're going through dry places. They need a body. Because a body is what gives you the ability to enjoy the things the blessings that are here on the earth. So we need to understand the the word the body the physical body was created to be inhabited by the glory of God. So when Jesus said a body you prepared for me and Jesus the word became flesh that body now was full of the perfect law of God. That is our purpose. That is our destiny. God intended for us to walk in the fullness of his counsel, in the fullness of his light. When God created Adam, he said, "You can have it all. Just stay away from this one thing because that one thing will allow something foreign, something that you were not created to endure to come into your body and to pollute your body, which is where we are, the condition that we are today, where we struggle with a a a nature that is not from God. God never created us to steal. God never created us to lie, to lie. God never created us to hate. God na never created us to to to to uh to defraud one another. God never created us to hurt. God is not that way. God is love. God is the complete fulfillment of perfection and goodness. That's what we're called to indwell. So you see now that we're born again, born again means that rejoice that your name is written in heaven. Rejoice that you have a connection now with the spirit of God. Because the spirit of God, see, it's like me having this paper over here and say, "Well, I want to watch the 10:00 news. How come the 10:00 news is not coming there?" Do you know the 10:00 news is right here? All you need is the right receiver. If I get an FM radio, I can pick up all kinds of stations. They're right here. If I get an AM receiver, I can get all kinds of station. If I get one of those um uh uh DVR channels or whatever, I can get all kinds of things. They're right here. But I need the right receiver to be able to receive what they're broadcasting. You see that? So, what I'm saying here is God is broadcasting. The spirit of God is broadcasting what he wants to do in you and me. what he wants to fulfill it. His word is looking for a body that can indwell, a a a body that will allow him to come in, a body that will allow him to bring his perfection into us. But in order to do that, we need to be able to tune in. We got to be able to hear because the spirit is speaking and without us being able to receive it, we're not going to play that good thing that God is playing. You see, because there's another guy that's broadcasting also, and his name is Satan. And guess what? You are already tuned to what he's broadcasting. You don't need to buy anything. You don't have to sign up for anything. Oh, man. You just look around. He's all over. He's sending thoughts into your mind continuously. As a matter of fact, a lot of some of you, he told you, "Don't go there tonight. Whatever you do, stay away from that place." He don't want you to tune in to the other channel. He didn't want you to tune in to where God is broadcasting. Because you see, when we are able to allow the perfect law of God to come in, a transformation begins to take place. Because you see, our body, our soul was designed to be inhabited by the word of God. Oh, hallelujah. We were designed to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying. Satan is being hard at work of messing all of your buttons, you know, like a guitar all out of tune. He's just and and and we need to hear what the spirit is saying to the churches. And that is confirmed of our next verses. Psalm 119 verse 11 through4. Look what it said. Moreover, by them your servant is warned. By what? By what the Lord is broadcasting. By the words that the Lord is broadcasting. Your servant is warned. Have you ever wished you would have been warned? I mean, we could have saved a lot of pain and headaches, you know, if we could just have a little uh uh uh whatchamacallit fast forward button. And we're going to make a decision, you know, before we make it. Let me fast forward this movie. See where it plays out. And woo, I don't want to go there. You know, some of those uh uh things might take you up to a couple of years behind bars. Some of the thing could take you out to 10 years bound by drug addiction. Some of the things can get you in in in the worst relation that you ever had that that that you know you like job, you wish you never been born. But you see, God is broadcasting your future to you. God is broadcasting the path that he has for you. God is telling you which way to walk in the path that he has for you. So it warns us. He tells us, he guidance. That's what he says here. By them your servant. Now notice that he uses the term servant. What is a servant? Somebody who is submitted. Somebody who is willing to listen to correction. Somebody who is willing to say, "Lord, I know I mess this up if I do it by myself. I need help. I need help." He said, "By them your servant is worn, and in keeping them there is a great reward." Oh, I like that. I like that. God is in the business of rewarding. Hallelujah. Did you know that uh um uh you know, I I think of things like this. You might think I'm weird, but uh you know, what do the angels do in heaven for fun? you know, I mean, there's a whole bunch of them up in there sitting and and the devil wants you to think that if you go to heaven, uh uh you know, you're going to wind up on a cloud with a harp, maybe playing the same tune all the time, and that's going to get boring after a couple of million years. You know, uh you know, you you know, but but think of this. God is in the throne, and out of the throne of God come forth lightnings and thundering. And in the book of Revelation, he tells us that every time there's a flash of lightning, the uh uh uh the uh the creatures uh uh the four living creatures just cried out, "Holy, holy, holy." and everybody throws himself to the floor and they just cried and and and you know what it is is those creatures are created in such a way that God can give them such a thrill such a high such a unit that every time there's a little flashing of life from the throne they just like become a feeding frenzy they just go why they lose all complete control the highest height and a minute later God can give another flash and it's just totally different. Oh man, you get so excited. That's what God created us for. Did you know that in eternity? That's why God is eternal because all eternity and you cannot see how big and how great he is. And he'll reward us like that. And we can get glimpses of that sometimes. We can, you know, one time I was in the in the freeway and I was just bemoning my faith and I'm working so hard and all two hours I was on the four or five freeway coming from there and I just and finally something slapped me in the face. God said, "Why don't you concentrate something positive, you know? I mean, you got my spirit in, you got my word." And I repented right there on the sp forgive me, Lord. And I just began to worship him. And man, he just gave me one of those flashes. And I, Holy Spirit is a better driver than I am. He drove home. But I'm telling you, like for an hour over there, I was just weeping. I got home, I was soaked with tears. He just gave me a little flash. And all I needed to do was just tune that old lousy station that I was listening to as to how bad I was because I was stuck in two-hour traffic. And just began to tune into him. And he just gave me a little tiny little reward. He just drew boom and man I just fell apart and like I said he can drive a stick ship truck. I can vow for that. He drove perfectly to the whole thing. I got home and I didn't know how I got home but I got home and everything was fine. No dents on it. Praise God. And so verse 11 Psalm 1911 more moreover by them your servant is worn and in keeping them there is great reward. Verse 12. who can understand his errors. Cleanse me from secret faults. Keep back your servant also for from presumptuous sins and let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless and I shall be innocent of great transgression. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, oh Lord, my strength and my redeemer. Now listen to this. This is very important because this is how this is what happened when we tune in to what the Holy Spirit is speaking to us. Look what he he asked a question. David asked this question. Who can understand his errors? You don't know how you were made. You don't know how you've been messed up. You don't know what your generational line is and how many devil worshippers you had and how many Buddha worshippers you have and how many idolattors you have. You don't know how messed up your DNA is, how corrupted that has been. There's just so much garbage, you know, uh um numbers um is it numbers? Uh uh when the ten commandments are given and he says, I am a jealous god and I visit the iniquities of the fathers up until the children to the third and fourth generation. Uh 25, right? Exodus 20 verse five. Yeah. Anyway, uh we have a lot of things in us that cause us to do bad things. David said in Psalm 51 when after he was caught in adultery and and all the things he he says in sin my mother conceived me said I didn't have a chance. This was already on my gene. David was a descendant of Rahab the prostitute who married Solomon and and came down. So, who knows their faults? We don't. But God does. That's the good news. God does. And he's broadcasting. He's telling you, he say, "Hey, I know your weaknesses. I know your strength. I know where you need to stay away from. And I need what you can get close to. If you listen, but listen to me. I'm going to get you fixed up because I know where your faults are at." And then he said, "Who can cleanse me from secret fault?" That means hidden hidden flaws that we have. Did you know that in one of the Proverbs, I I think it was um 68 or I don't I don't remember one of the provers we use for deliverance. It talks about how Satan works. It talks about how they cause like an insurrection from within you and they probe and they search hard. They're looking to find where your faults are at. Satan is always Satan has like a net. He's throwing all kinds of garbage at you. Sometimes you laugh at him. You say Satan think he could set me with that. Well, see, Satan doesn't know. He's not God. He doesn't know what your strengths are, what your weaknesses are. So, he's going to throw everything he can at you. See what sticks. And once he finds something that sticks, boy, he's going to work it. And he's going to work it against you. and he's going to manipulate things and he's going to get things going. So basically what he's saying here if I can tune to what God is speaking to what God is saying God knows not only my errors but he knows my weaknesses. You see God can help me in my weaknesses. God can help me in my infirmities. God can help me in the thing that I need help on to overcome. That's what he's saying there. if I am tuned to him. And then he says verse 13, keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins. That applies to many Christians. A lot of time we presume and we think it's faith. We presume that we can do certain things and we think it's faith and it is not. And you see God knows that too. God knows how much faith you have. God really knows whether you have faith for that big car you're going to buy. Whether you're going to be able to make the five years of payments that it takes, whether you're going to have faith for that or not or entering into a relationship. So all of these things are so important because it helps us. He says, and look what it says at the end of verse 13, let them not have dominion over me. That means if I can listen to what God is saying, if I can tune in to the revelation that God is giving me, if I can connect with the Holy Spirit, nothing is going to get a hold of me. Nothing is going to bound me, bind me, nothing is going to have a stronghold over me. Why? Because God is guiding my path. You see, God knows where the snares are that Satan has laid for you. You know how they have those night vision goggles right now? Imagine you walking in darkness through the hills under booby traps. There's all kinds of things. Imagine if all of a sudden now you have one of those pair of bright goggles and then you can walk just like if it was day. Huh? He's got a hole there. He's got a net there and he's got this here. That's what the Holy Spirit does. And then he says, "Then I'm going to be blameless." Oh, this is nice. Then I shall be blameless and I shall be innocent of great transgression. Wouldn't you want to be on that innocent? The Holy Spirit said in that doesn't mean we ever become perfect. We'll never become perfect. What that means is God is going to keep you from hurting yourself beyond what can be fixed. You know that that's one of the things where my kids were growing up teenage years. We have two girls and a boy. And I knew that in order for them to grow and mature, they're going to have to go through the thing we all go through. So rather than, oh Lord, keep him from ever smoking or keep him from ever doing pot or Lord, it was just like, Lord, whatever comes their way, I just pray that you draw a line that they will not cross the line that would hurt them beyond being able to be recuperated. That was my prayer for them. And you know, we saw that that when they would uh be going in a certain direction and when they came to that line, God would somehow speak and say, "Hey, you can't cross that line." And boom, it was like they wake up or something and something would happen. And and that I believe is what God wants from us. He's saying, "Listen to me. You're you're that's why I call it great transgression. We we we're going to make mistakes. That's how we learn. You don't know that that the that the socket uh has electricity on it. You don't know what electricity is until you stick your finger in the socket. And once you do it once, you won't do it no more. I guarantee you kids will learn quick that way. So God is going to allow you to do certain things like that. But you see, he's not going to allow you to lose your finger or to lose your life. That's that's what he's saying over here. Okay. So now that we found out how these things work, um let's go to Proverbs chapter 1 where all of the things about wisdom begins. And we're going to read Proverbs chapter 1:es 1-7. And the reason why I believe the Lord got me to to show you this is so that you can read the book of Proverbs. Proverbs is is a book of wisdom. Okay? And a lot of times to read something to have it make an an impact we have to be motivated or we have to understand you know like uh uh if somebody gives you a book to read if you don't have no motivation for it you can just probably throw it there and not read it. But if you find out that that book will tell you how to win a a free vacation to Hawaii you know and then if you start it really good there's like 99% chance you're going to get the free vacation to Hawaii. Guess what? you're going to read that book, right? That's what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to get you motivated to read because there is speech that is going forth from God. Now, Proverbs 1 through7, the proverbs of Solomon, the son of David, king of Israel, to know wisdom and instruction. To perceive the words of understanding, to receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, judgment, and equity to give prudence to the simple. There is that word simple, to the young men, knowledge and discretion. A wise man will hear and increase learning, and a man of understanding will attain wise cons counsel. To understand a proverb and an enigma, the words of the wise and their riddles. And then he says, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction." Here he's setting up in those first seven verses, seven being the number of completion, we're given the whole heart of the book of Proverbs. He says God says, I'm going to show you. And the thing is he uses the word simple and he uses the word fool. Both of those words are dealing with people who lack spiritual knowledge, i.e. us. Okay? All of us are carnal or natural. We're born after the flesh. We have no natural spiritual understanding. Whatever spirit we were messing with befo Previous Next Home

The Liberation of the Human Soul Pastor Marcos Marrero October 17, 2023 The Liberation of the Human Soul Objective: The objective of this book is to equip believers with biblical understanding of the human soul, its struggles, and its potential for transformation through the Spirit of God. Pastor Marcos Marrero seeks to help Christians distinguish between the soul and spirit, recognize the influences that distort and oppress the soul, and apply God’s truth for deliverance and restoration. By guiding readers to trust in God’s covenant promises and embrace progressive transformation, the book aims to lead believers into true freedom, wholeness, and spiritual maturity, enabling them to live victoriously and fulfill their divine purpose in Christ. Synopsis: In The Liberation of the Human Soul, Pastor Marcos Marrero explores the vital distinction between the human spirit and soul, showing how this understanding is key to living in the fullness of God’s freedom. He explains the “soul complex” as an inner dwelling with both godly and ungodly “tenants,” and teaches how spiritual fruit such as love, joy, and peace can only thrive when believers evict destructive influences like selfish ambition, lust, and envy. Pastor Marcos uncovers the demonic infrastructure that manipulates the soul through lies, trauma, and distortion of truth, then highlights how the Word of God restores and renews believers. Through faith, trust, and covenant with Christ, the soul undergoes progressive transformation—breaking free from sin’s snares and growing into the likeness of Jesus. Ultimately, the book emphasizes that salvation is not only about eternal life but also about the ongoing deliverance and restoration of the soul in this life. By yielding fully to God’s Spirit, Christians can walk in true peace, self-control, and victory, fulfilling their divine destiny and bearing witness to the world of Christ’s liberating power. Sample first pages of the Book/Manual: Introduction As a born-again Christian since June 2, 1976, when my life was radically changed after I accepted Jesus Christ as my only savior, I can honestly say that trying to understand the complexity of the human soul is perhaps the most challenging area I’ve ever had to deal with, yet the most vital. In every human endeavor reaching the goal determines the victory. Failing to reach the goal, though admirable if one tries very hard, it is still a failure. Bottom line is we lost; we failed to accomplish the desire objective. However many Christians today settle for trying very hard and accept failure to reach their goal in Christ as an admirable endeavor. Even when in the end they have failed miserably to achieve the goal that Jesus Christ had set out for them in their lives. My prayer is that in this book I will be able to shed some light into the inner workings of the human soul that will enable born-again Christians to achieve the goal of their faith which is the salvation, deliverance and restoration of their souls. 1 Peter 1:9 “Receiving the end of your faith — the salvation of your souls.”   The Difference between the Spirit and the Soul This is an area that is not dealt with often enough from church pulpits. What is the difference between my soul and my spirit? And how does lack of knowledge on this subject affect my walk with Christ? Knowing the difference between your soul and your spirit can mean the difference between walking in shame, guilt and condemnation or walking in total and complete freedom from guilt, shame and condemnation. Let me begin by stressing that the Bible makes a clear distinction between the soul and the spirit, and if we understand that their interaction affects how our physical bodies respond to any given situation, it will teach us how to walk in self-control, which is the completion of spiritual fruit. I Thessalonians 5:23 “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Parenthesis, italics, bold added by me unless otherwise stated.) Paul clearly segregates the two, spirit and soul as dwelling within our physical bodies. But by introducing God as the God of peace Himself, Paul implies that there is a relationship between spirit and soul that brings peace or the lack thereof, depending upon their interaction. In order to know how the spirit and the soul interact within our bodies, and how their interaction affects our behavior, we need to understand their individual nomenclature. The Greek word used by Paul in the above passage for spirit is the word “Pnyoomah” Strong’s concordance # 4151 and it means Breath (blast). The Greek word used for soul is the word “Psookhay” Strong’s concordance # 5590 and it also means Breath. We get a clearer picture from Genesis 2:7 “And the Lord God formed man (the body) of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life (the spirit); and man became a living being (the soul).” The words for breath and spirit are pretty much interchangeable in both the Hebrew and Greek languages. So when God breathed into Adam’s nostrils the breath (spirit) of life, Adam became a living soul. From this and other scriptures I’ve concluded that the human soul is like a pneumatic (Pnyoomah) tool, a tool designed to run on a blast or a current of air, originally intended by God to run or to be motivated by God’s breath/spirit (Pnyoomah);or let me put it another way, our soul is to be moved, inspired, influenced by the words that come out of the mouth of God. When Adam and by implication us, disobeyed the word that came out of God’s mouth, our souls lost their motivator and hence the soul became self-motivated (self steam). Now in the soul we find the mind, will and emotions intricately connected to our five physical senses. Genesis 3:6 “So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food (taste), that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise (mind), she took of its fruit and ate.” Here we see the process; disobedience to the word of God disengages the governor of the soul: the Spirit of God. And now the human soul can be easily manipulated through the physical senses. Satan controls the environment we live in, the world; if we do not walk in self-control which is a fruit of the Spirit; then, the demonic environment of this world will control us also. As born-again believers we cannot afford to be led by our physical senses, if we are lead by the sensuality (carnality) of this world, we will never achieve the goal of our faith, which is; the liberation of our souls from satanic influences and manipulative schemes. 1 John 2:15 “Do not love the world or the things of the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father (breath) is not in him.” This is why the soul is so vital: Whichever spirit (breath) motivates the soul, that spirit will control to a very large extent the actions of our physical bodies. When we walk in victory it is because the Spirit of God is driving our soul. When we walk in defeat it is because the Spirit of God has been disengaged from motivating our soul; and when our soul is motivated by our physical senses, which are manipulated by the circumstances surrounding us, we fail on our goal. John could not have said it any clearer, when we love the world or the things of the world (the devil’s environment), we’ve allowed our souls to be manipulated by the god of this world. Instead of the fruit of the Holy Spirit flowing through us, the fruit of carnality abounds. Selfishness instead of self-control, hate instead of love, unhappiness instead of joy, impatience instead of patience, pride instead of meekness and no real peace. Isaiah 57:21 “There is no peace, says my God, for the wicked.” Perhaps the best way to describe the difference between soul and spirit is like this: The spirit of a born-again Christian is like a good seed, within it lies dormant everything that pertains to a life of peace and abundance of the godliness that we have been promised. 1 Peter 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” And just like a natural seed needs a place to germinate and release all the things that are encoded within it; the born-again spirit needs to be embedded within the soul in order to bear spiritual fruit. Hosea 10:17 “Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the Lord, till He comes and rains righteousness on you.” This is what makes the liberation of the soul so vital, without it there can be no harvest, no real victory. The preaching, teaching and learning from the word of God provide the watering that causes the seed (spirit) to bear fruit, however the fallow ground of the soul must be broken, tilled and cultivated. The weeds that choke the fruit of the spirit have to be uprooted. Matthew 15:13 “...Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.” As I conclude this chapter, my heart turns towards the many Christians that are struggling with sin in their lives. No matter how hard they try they are unable to overcome it, and like clockwork Satan is there to remind them of their misery and failure. Romans 7:17-18 “But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice.” Parenthesis are in the original text. Romans 7:20 Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.” The day that a born-again believer comes to the realization that the spirit within him/her has been made alive, and that there is now therefore no condemnation for that spirit; for indeed, it is that born-again spirit that desires to do good “for to will is present with me”, they will no longer look at sin in the same light anymore. The sin that is in the soul that was self-motivated before we knew God should be like a warning light to us, a symptom of an unseen malady. Its manifestations are there for the purpose of reminding us that there is something wrong within us that we need to deal with. When the check engine light flashes on the dash board of our vehicle, we do not feel guilt or shame about it; we simply become concern and see to it that the problem is dealt with as soon as possible. So it should be with us, when we keep doing that which we will not to do, it is time to come to God and allow Him to give us a spiritual diagnostic check-up of the soul. Proverbs 11:9 “…But through knowledge the righteous will be delivered.” Instead of hiding with guilt and shame by identifying ourselves with that sin, let us expose that sin for what it is, an unwanted trespasser that needs to be evicted from our soul, through knowledge. Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Let us become diligent in learning the intricacies of our own soul. Let us make the liberation of our souls our principle goal in life. CONCERNING SPIRITUAL GIFTS The purpose of this teaching is to help believers understand the true context and purpose of spiritual gifts. By examining 1 Corinthians 10–12, the message emphasizes that gifts are not isolated abilities but are rooted in fellowship with Christ and proper spiritual authority. The teaching aims to show how spiritual gifts deliver us from the influence of idols and demonic wisdom, positioning us rightly in the body of Christ so that each member functions effectively in unity under the headship of Jesus. < Back CONCERNING SPIRITUAL GIFTS Pastor Marcos Marrero April 18, 2008 Objective: The purpose of this teaching is to help believers understand the true context and purpose of spiritual gifts. Synopsis: This message begins with prayer and thanksgiving for God’s presence and guidance, then moves into Paul’s instructions in 1 Corinthians 12:1: “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant.” The teaching places this verse in the broader context of 1 Corinthians 10 and 11, which highlight two foundational truths: fellowship with Christ (communion) and proper alignment under spiritual authority. The message explains that spiritual gifts flow from this fellowship, placing believers in their unique positions within the body of Christ. Just as seating arrangements at a banquet reflected status in ancient customs, so too does our place in Christ give us authority and responsibility. Unlike worldly systems that exalt power and pride, the kingdom of God exalts humility—God resists the proud but lifts up the humble. Drawing on passages from James 3 and Psalm 115, the teaching contrasts the influence of demonic, sensual wisdom with the life-giving wisdom from above. Before salvation, believers were bound by “dumb idols” that dulled spiritual senses, leaving them unable to see, hear, or discern the things of God. Spiritual gifts, therefore, serve as God’s tools to free His people from these former influences and to equip them for service. The gifts are not given for self-exaltation but for building up the body, ensuring that each member—whether seen or unseen—functions in harmony. The message stresses that communion with Christ must not be taken lightly; failure to discern His body leads to weakness, sickness, or even death among believers. Conversely, rightly partaking of Christ’s fellowship brings healing, authority, and the power to overcome. Ultimately, the teaching shows that spiritual gifts are God’s weapons of deliverance, empowering His people to walk in their rightful position of fellowship and authority, and to minister under the guidance of the Holy Spirit for the edification of the entire body of Christ. Inspired Teaching: Right. Praise God. Father in heaven in Jesus name, we thank you for your anointing, for your presence that covers, Father God, and for your hand that heals. Also for your hand of favor upon our heads, Father God, upon our ears, upon our eyes, our mouth, Father God. Touch us father in the name of Jesus that we may see what the Holy Spirit is bringing from you to reveal to us tonight father in Jesus name we thank you Lord. Amen. Amen. Praise God. Concerning spiritual gift and it's our scriptures in 1 Corinthians chapter 12. And I was reading um the other morning sitting in Riverside there in my car while waiting and I opened to this chapter and the Lord gave me a neat revelation and it says in um 1 Corinthians 12 verse1 it says now concerning spiritual gift brethren I do not want you to be ignorant and then immediately was like the Lord uh just brought the revelation to my mind that um uh spiritual gift have a purpose and the purpose has to do what he has been talking about. In other words, when he said concerning spiritual gift, I do not want you to be ignorant. And if you look back to take into context uh as the Lord showed me in um uh for example in in first Corinthians um uh chapter 11, he's talking about spiritual authority. In in verse two, he said, "But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ." And then he's talking about the man being the head of the woman, Christ being the head of the man, God being the head of Christ. So he's talking about spiritual authority. He's talking about uh the dangers of praying or ministering outside of the right proper spiritual authority. That's what he's talking about there. In other words, he's saying uh uh that when things kind of get out of line, uh we're not functioning under the proper anointing or under the proper covering. And if you go back even farther to put into context what he's talking about, he's talking about um he's talking about communion, having fellowship with God. For example, in 1 Corinthians 10 um verse 16, it says, "The cup of blessing which we bless is it not the communion of the blood of Christ, the bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ." So there's an understanding to be had here that when he says in in in 1 Corinthians chapter 12 verse 1 when he says concerning now spiritual gift brethren I do not want you to be ignorant he's taking into context two very major points that he just made in chapters 10 and chapter 11. In chapter 10, he's making the point that we as believers because of the blood of Jesus Christ, we have fellowship. You see, and as believers, we also are placed in a position of authority. Now, let's take this back to the time of of the apostles and so that we can grasp and understand. Remember how Sebedes, the sons of Zebedee, Zebedee's wife, the mother of John and Andrew, came to Jesus and said, "Jesus, when you come into the kingdom, why don't you let uh my uh my son sit at your right hand and at your left hand in your throne to rule." And then there's another occasion when Jesus comes in and says, "Listen, when you're invited to a feast, don't seek to sit closer to the head of the table to the master because he may come in and somebody more important than you may come in and he'll pluck you out of your chair and put that other person." He says, "Sit where the most humble people sit and then the master will see you and then he will sit you up." What he's talking about, he's talking about a custom. A custom in those day is fellowship. When you're in fellowship, the position that you sit in that place of fellowship determines what your ranking is. In other words, the higher ranking you are in that fellowship, the closer to the master you sit. The lower in ranking, the farther you are. Now, I want you to take these two principles here because this is what Paul is talking about. chapter 10 and chapter 11. In chapter 10, he says, "Hey, we're seated now with Christ in the heavenly places because we have fellowship with him." In other words, Jesus said, "Do this in remembrance of me." When we partake of communion, we are recognizing the fact that we are part of the body of Christ. Jesus sits at the head of the table like he did during the communion and the different disciples sit next to him on their positions that are given to him. So the fact that we are now part of the body of Christ places us in a position of authority with Christ. That's what it's talking about. 1 Corinthians chapter 10 1 Corinthians 11 is talking about fellowship and authority. That's what it's talking about. So when in 1 Corinthians 12:1 he says, "Now concerning spiritual gifts, I do not want you to be ignorant." We need to place it within the context is that in fellowship with Christ, we have position and we have ranking. Okay, we need to understand this because this is the whole framework of the gift. This is how they operate. As a matter of fact, if you read farther down, where we're not going to get to tonight, in in 1 Corinthians chapter 12, uh he makes the very statement that in Christ, we're all like part of a body. In other words, we're not all an eye. We're not all an ear. But imagine if you put the eye on the knee, you would have a hard time praying, getting in your knees to pray because your eyes can't handle that. So he is talking about here that no matter what position you have in the body, whatever position has been given to you, whether you're a male or a female as he's using it in in in in 11 when he talking about that the woman not to pray with her head on cover. And when he's talking about that a man cannot pray with his head uncovered, meaning that Christ is his head. And if he's going to do spiritual warfare, he better have Christ as his covering, just like a woman needs to have her husband as a covering or her pastor, he's talking about a position in Christ, a fellowship with him. And then he's talking about not only a position of authority, h a position that brings us to a place of authority. In other words, whether you're the little toe, whether you're the nail, whether you're the eye, whether you're the ear, it does not matter. You fit into that pattern. And to men, now remember, they asked Jesus right in the context of when uh Zebed's uh wife uh wanted one of her sons sitting at his right hand and as his left hand. Jesus says the kingdom of God is not like the gentile world. In the gentile world, you lorded over people. He said, you know, the one with the most drive, the one that can bribe more people or convince more people or lead more people, he takes a head seat. He said, no, in the kingdom of God, the more humble person a person is, the more he to be exalted. In other words, you want to be great in the kingdom of God, be a servant of them all. Now, why is that? Because God governs and rules through principles, spiritual principles. Just like gravity. If gravity was taken right now, we all go floating. And if we don't have nothing to grab on to, man, we're in trouble because we're just out there in space doing nothing. God works always through laws which are called spiritual principle. And God has a very simple spiritual principle which he governs everything by. He says that God resists the proud but yet he exalts the humble. So you want to be great in the kingdom of God, be humble. And God is going to come to your little seat where you're at and going to move you to a higher position of authority because why? Because he has to obey. He governs by the rules that he made. And that's the rule that he made. The humble he lifts up. And now the one that exalts himself, what is it? That God resists the proud. So we need to understand then that in 1 Corinthians chapter 12 when we read verse one when Paul says now brethren concerning spiritual gifts I do not want you to be ignorant. We need to take that into the context that Paul is speaking about as believers. We have fellowship with Christ. And because we have fellowship with Christ within the structure of the fellowship we are given a position. we are given a position of authority. That's what he's talking about in in in chapter 11 being in the right under the proper government uh government ruling uh spiritual ruling of God. So the spiritual gift have to do with placing us in the proper place of fellowship with God and in the proper place of authority with God. So if we start with that then we're going to be able to understand what it's talking about. Now I want you to read. We're going to read verse one and verse two. 1 Corinthians 12. He says, "Now concerning spiritual gift, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant." Verse two, "You know that you were Gentiles carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led." Now Paul very purposely puts the word there d them. He's not putting down on an on idols. He is trying to bring a very very important point. And what he's saying over here is that when we were gentiles and the problem with the word gentile that's become a fancy word. Oh we're all gentiles. The word gentiles mean pagan means idoltor means an idol worshipper. That's what the word pagan means. It means that hey, when you were an idoltor, when you were a pagan, when you were in the world, before you came into the fellowship that you are now in with Christ, and before you came into the position in which God has placed you, you had an authority and you had a position because you were influenced. You were led by idols. You see, so the spiritual gift are designed to take as if it were our nature or carnality or the position that was given to us by these dumb idols by our pagan ways of walking and placing us within the proper framework and context of the purpose and plan that God has for us. That's what he's saying concerning spiritual gifts. Brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant. You need to understand that now that you're a believer, you're in Christ. You have fellowship with God in the house of God. There is a seat. There is a spot that is reserved for you on that. You occupy a place of authority. And when you're part of the body and you're exercising your full authority within your context of the place of authority, you're making the body work. Hallelujah. You're making the body work. Things are happening. But when you're not within your position and within the realm of your authority, you're hindering. And that's why we need the gift. The gifts are there to place us in the proper place. That's what he's talking about. Now first of all we need to understand that as Gentiles or pagans all of our ways that means the way we think was influenced by demonic stuff. Now I don't have it there in the notes but u uh uh I need you to to see this. I was thinking today as I was meditating is in James and I think it's chapter 3. Uh James chapter 3 if I can find James. Where are you James? There you go. I'm already there. James 3. And I spoke this many times is James 3 verse 12. Let's begin there. It says, "Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grape vine bear figs? Does no spring yield both salt water and fresh?" Believe it or not, this is the context into which Paul is talking about. We're going to read a scripture later to where it says, "Are you trying to make God jealous because you're partaking of the table of demons and you're partaking of the table of God?" So the context here is that now that we are situated or positioned in Christ, we need to assume or fulfill the responsibility of that office that has been given to us. And then he says um in verse 13 James 3:13 say who is wise and understanding among you. Remember I don't want you to be ignorant brethren. That's what 121 says. I don't want you concerning spiritual gifts. I do not want you to be ignorant. who is wise and under standing among you. Let him show by the conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. Remember wisdom is a spirit. He said, "But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth because this wisdom or this spirit, this influence does not descend from above, but is earthly, is sensual, and is demonic." And I want you to to underline those two words, sensual and demonic. And then he says, "For where there's envy, self-seeking, there's confusion, and all kinds of evil are there." And then he contrasts that by the wisdom that come from above, he says, "But the wisdom that is from above is first of all pure, peaceable, gentle, willing to yield and and all kinds of things." So I want you to see that what Paul is trying to deal with here is our carnality versus our spiritual position in fellowship and authority with Christ. Our carnality, the influences of the flesh are going to be in contrast with the position that we are in Christ in our fellowship with him and the authority that has been vested upon us as Christian. And so that if we don't see that the spiritual gift are tools that God has made available to pull us out or remove us from under the influence of the wisdom of this world which is demonic then we cannot come into the fullness of our position and fellowship that we have with Christ. This is why so many Christians fail. Now I want to take you in a journey as to why pagan when we were pagans that's before we were saved when we were pagan how much influence that demonic structure of this world that wisdom that we just read the self-seeking and sensual how detrimental that was to us because that DNA is deeply engraed saved in our human nature and that's what the gifts are for to remove that. Let's go first to Psalm 115 and let's read verses 2-8. Psalm 115 verses 2-8. He says, "Why should the Gentiles say, so where is their God?" Now notice he begins with a question. Why do do pagans say where is their God? How many of you know that now that's what the world says to Christians? Where is your God? How come you're dying of cancer the same way everybody else has got cancer? You're getting divorced the same way everybody gets divorced. you know, you're having to do the same things that we're having to do. So, where is your God? Now, watch what he says. He says, "But our God is in heaven, and he does whatever he pleases." Now, the pagans, verse four, their idols are silver and gold, the work of man's hands. And this is what I want you to see. This is very important. The idols, the works of manham, they have mouth but they do not speak. Eyes they have but they do not see. They have ears but they do not hear. Noses they have but they do not smell. They have hands but they do not handle. Feet they have but they do not walk. Nor do they mutter through their thro. And here's the kicker. Those who make them are like them, and so is everyone who trusts in them. Now, if you didn't catch it, he was talking about the five senses. He says they have eyes, they do not see, they have ears, they do not hear, they have noses, they cannot smell, they have mouth, they cannot taste, they have hands, they have feet, they can't do anything. And it says that those who make him, which is the wisdom of this world, the selfseeking that is embedded in all of us, we were under that influence as Gentiles, as pagans becau before we came into the commonwealth of Israel, which is the promise of God of Abraham according to the spirit where he said, "Your seed shall be like the stars of the heaven." That inheritance that we have before we enter into it, that's what we were under. We were this is so are the ones who make him and the ones who worship that lifestyle they become like them. Imagine that. What does it mean to become like an idol? It means you cannot hear the spirit of God. Means you cannot see the reality of spiritual things. Means you cannot does the Bible say come and taste and see that the that the Lord is good. You cannot taste the word of God. You speak it but it's not food. There's it's like eating cardboard, dry box, something like that. Why? The reason is because of the fact that idols are designed to keep men bound so that they cannot hear the spirit of God and be set free. Remember what Jesus said, lest they hear and be healed lest they hear. Isaiah says, you know, they they they hear uh they have ears, but they cannot hear. And and then he says, and and and unless they hear and be healed. So, we're talking about coming into the inheritance of God. But it says that we inherited all of that. You see, before I was born again, I could read the Bible and I could say, "Man, no wonder the world is so messed up." All you could see when I was reading in the Bible was wars and killings and murders and everything else. You see, my spirit was shut up. Could not see, could not hear, could not taste, could not smell. It wasn't until I experienced a rebirth. Born again, born of the spirit where that dumb idol. That's why Paul calls it the no matter why dumb. Because you don't hear and you don't speak, you're called dumb. That's why he called them. They don't have the ability to speak or to hear. We were led when we were pagans by dom idols. And these do idols kept us boxed in to where we could not see the fellowship the the seed of fellowship that we have with Christ. And we cannot understand the authority that comes with a sitting that we're now seated with Christ. That means that we need to be delivered. We need to be delivered. We need to be delivered from ears that cannot hear. We need to be delivered from eyes that cannot see. Have you ever been around a person that is negative all the time and and in every situation they see the worst and and and you're not involved in it and and immediately you perceive man that person will be so negative. He could see the blessing right there. Their attitude is what keeping them. I mean the person might be dying to hire them but they're doing everything in the world to keep the guy from hiring because of the attitude. You cannot see things like that and that's what he's talking about. So then what first Corinthians chapter 12 what he's talking about he's about God has made available for us spiritual gift because he said brethren concerning spiritual gift I do not want you to be ignorant those spiritual gift has been given to us for a purpose and the purpose is to deliver us from the demonic influences. that we have inherited from our old lifestyle when we were pagans. As a matter of fact, there's another scripture that I want to bring it more at home. And it's right there in 1 Corinthians chapter 10. If you're still in in 1 Corinthians 12, just back up just a little bit so that you can see that all of these things that Paul is doing, he's he's he's they're all chapter 10, chapter 11, they're all talking about. Look at ch 1 Corinthians chapter 10 uh verses 19 and 20. Look what Paul says what I am saying then that an idol is anything or what is offered to idols is anything. He's asking the question, but look what he says. The statement that he makes in 1 Corinthians 10:20. Rather, the things with the Gentiles or the pagans sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God. And because of that, Paul says to us, those who are believers, no, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons. because you cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. So he's saying as a believer now you cannot remain in your old lifestyle. You have been given a seat of fellowship at the Lord's table which is his body, the church. That's what 1 Corinthians 12, if you read it, he says uh uh this gift are given for the profit of all and we're like a body. There's just one head. See, a lot of people say, well, uh, uh, you know, to justify their stronghold in a church or in a group or fellowship, anything with more than one head is a monster, they say. And I agree with that. Jesus is the head. That's what they don't understand. They're not. Jesus is the only head and Jesus operates through the full body. Any healthy church will have different people manifesting and and and ministry through different gifts. As a matter of fact, you read 1 Corinthians 13, it it says there are many gifts, but there's one spirit. There's the same Holy Spirit. He works. And you know, the Holy Spirit loves working through multiplicity of people. Get a group and begin to minister and you'll see that he the Holy Spirit will jump from one person to the other one to the other one to the other. Why? Because God operates in principles. And what is another principle that God tries to keep us from? Pride comes before the fall. And God knows in our human nature, we're very much prone to pride. So if the Holy Spirit does everything through you and you become the big head, pretty soon you're going to fall over. So the Holy Spirit will just use you for for a part and then he'll move to somebody else. And then you said, "Wow, I can't believe the Lord gave him that." And the other person say, "Look at you. I can't believe the Lord gave him that." But the thing is the two parts work together and bring the deliverance to the to to the thing that you need. And so what? Nobody gets full up because everybody said, "Man, if pray had not been here, that would not happen or if this had not happened." So So the Holy Spirit loves working like that. So he says in 1 Corinthians 12, if you read part of there are many gift but one spirit. But then he goes on to say there are different ministries but just one Lord. I don't care whether you're a pastor or a prophet or whether you're an evangelist or whether you're a teacher or whether you're an apostle, whoever you are, Jesus still is ahead. Why? Because he is the chief cornerstone. He's the head of the church. He is he he he he occupies every main office of the church. He occupies he's king. He's high priest. He's prophet. He's the apostle of our faith. Everything that has a title that governs and rules the body, the church is Jesus. All of us are just somewhere in there. And it's amazing that when h as 70 son's mother asked Jesus, he says those position are reserved by God as to who sits to his right hand and to his left hand. Only God has got those position. And you know what? When we get to heaven and we see those seated up there, I can guarantee you we never heard of them. We never knew them. There's some place some place to where and they suffer endure and whatever God knows the heart. He says whatever you do in secret will be rewarded in public. So then in 1 Corinthians chapter 12, what Paul is talking about when he says, "Now, brethren, concerning spiritual gift, I do not want you to be ignorant." And it's not to be ignorant of the fact that we have fellowship through our communion with Jesus Christ. And because we're in that fellowship, we have been given a position of authority, a seat. See, when you're going to uh the feast, everybody sits at a special place. We all sit at a special place. And that sit is reserved for just us. And he says, "And I want you to understand this." And I also want you to understand that when you were pagan, you were led by do idols that blocked your ability to hear, that blocked your ability to see, that blocked your ability to smell and taste and touch. And so because of that, you need deliverance in some of these areas so that you can be set free. And if you're not set free and you say, "Hey, I don't need it." Then you're going to have a problem. And the problem is in the scripture uh before us. Uh look at 1 Corinthians uh 11 verse 27-30. In 1 Corinthians 11:27-30, talking about our fellowship and and what we're commanded to do, the communion, he says, "Therefore, whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord." Now, it says that there's a proper way to take it in and there's a proper way and and and and and a a profane way of doing it. Verse 18, but let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread, partake of the word of God, and drink of the cup, the blood that Jesus shed for us. For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. And then look what it says in verse 30. For this reason, what is he talking about? What is he talking about? For this reason, because of failure to understand the our nature that is corrupted, for this reason many of you are weak and sick among you and many have died. So meaning that in the Lord in our table of fellowship that we have with the Lord, the bread is for the healing and the blood is for forgiveness. I don't care what illness any Christian has, he has a right to come to the table of the Lord. Look at uh Psalm 23. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemy. this table, that bread of healing is the bread, the body of Christ. It says Peter quoting uh Isaiah says by the stripes of Jesus, you were healed. When we partake of the bread, it's not necessarily the communion that can happen on the communion, but when we take the word of God that says, "I am the Lord that heals you." And we're facing cancer or we're facing some kind of destructive disease and we can partake of that word. With eyes that see, hallelujah, with ears that hear, with the ability to taste and see that the Lord is good, the smell of the blood of Jesus that was shed for us, we're able to touch the hymn of his garment and immediately were healed. But he says many of you because you're failing to understand that your position of authority and fellowship in Christ cannot be handled in the natural way. You see cannot be handled in the natural rational way of thinking. This is the mistake that most Christians make. Their ministry is based on the human senses. That's what James 3 said. He says the wisdom that comes from here is is it is it it is demonic. It is sensual. It is based on the senses. It's based on what you see and what you hear. And the Bible tells us uh uh not to lean into our own understanding. That there's a way that seemed right to a man and that the end is destruction. So then what Paul is saying before you can handle your position of fellowship and authority you better understand what the spiritual gifts are there for because the spiritual gift concerning spiritual gift is what's going to set you free. Now look at verse three. This this can trouble many people for a long time. 1 Corinthians 12:3 in first he says now concerning spiritual gift verse one brethren I do not want you to be ignorant verse two you know that when you were pagans you were carried away to these dumb idols wherever you were led therefore I make known to you and you have to make sure you you pay attention here I make known to you that no one speaking by the spirit Spirit of God calls Jesus a curse and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. Now that doesn't seem to make sense, does it? It is in a place there and it's standing all by itself and you say, "Man, what is that all about?" Well, that confirmed the scripture that I read to you in James chapter 3 where it says that there's two wisdoms. There's a wisdom that comes from above, peaceful, pure, and then there's a wisdom that come from this world which is based on sensual and demonic. That means that there are only two fountains. That means that there are only two wells. That means that there are only two sources. This is what it's talking about. And when we were pagans, guess what source we were drinking and flowing out of? Idolatry. And guess what? That idolatry brought dumb. Can see, can hear, can smell, can taste, can touch. You see? And so now he's saying here that you cannot say that Jesus Christ is Lord unless the spirit of God is saying that through you. And you cannot say Jesus occurs if you're born again because you see only the pagans can say that because the spirit of God is in you will not allow you to say anything bad about Jesus because the spirit testified about Jesus. That's all he does. He's here for the purpose of Jesus. The spirit of God will never ever put in a Christian to say something bad about Jesus. Never. It can't. the spirit of God and in the same way in our own nature we can never say Jesus is Lord unless the spirit of God truth you see we we were dumb our eyes our ears everything was blocked we could not see we could not hear it took the spirit of God to connect us see when Jesus send the disciples and gave him power they came back what Lord we spoke in your name and demons went out said don't rejoice in that rejoice that you had the password to heaven Yeah. And it's your name. Your name is written in heaven. When you say in the name of Jesus, your voice registers in heaven and immediately shows that's Marcos. Whoever it is you're born again, your name is in is written in the register just like a computer. Just type in your password and guess what? If you're not connected, you're not going to get in. Okay? You got to be signed up. You got to have a password. Your name is your password. You cannot say Jesus is Lord unless the spirit of God is in you. That's why he said rejoice that your name is written in heaven. That when you pray by the power of the Holy Spirit immediately it is answered. But now remember Jesus speaking about this he says my sheep know my voice. said, "But there are thieves that tried to come in through through the fence or through the back door, but they're not allowed in." See, here on earth, you can do that. You can fool a lot of people. You know, you wear the right clothes, say the right things and everything, and man, you can build a a great following. But that doesn't fool God. You see, you you cannot say Jesus is Lord. And and since we're dealing with demons because you see super personally sick, you know, and you can talk a good talk and play a good game and you can preach a great service, you say in the name of Jesus, if the spirit of God is not ended, that demon is just sitting over there laughing at you eating popcorn or lighting up one or whatever it is they do. You have no authority. You have no power. You see, the only power that we have is the gift that God gives us. Because the gifts are the tools. are the weapons. The gift concerning spiritual gift are the weapons that God gives us to defeat or destroy the power of these things that work with us. And so what he's saying here is in the spirit realm, in the natural you can fool a lot of people, but in the spiritual realm you're either connected to one or the other source. You're either connected to the wisdom that comes from above. Your name is written in heaven. When you speak, there's authority in your voice and demons have to obey. Or you just pulling a game and you're doing, you know what the thing does? You're you're you're in for self-seeking. You know, you just heard of this this pastor that just retired and the church is building him a $10 million church, a 10,000 um uh uh square feet living and stuff like that. And yet all of the years he's been preaching about the poor, all of the poor people and and and how does that um and and and you know, but people can't see nothing wrong with that. And then you know, and you see that in how many other congregations, people that have, you know, mega mega churches and have this uh big big mansions and all that stuff. You never see Jesus do that because when he said he cared about the poor, he really cared about the poor. He says the son of man doesn't have a nest for the birds have nest for he said son of man doesn't have a house doesn't have a place he has one goal and the goal is deliver the people the the people that are bound he saw the people like sheep without a shepherd who were hassle and and being destroyed by by the enemy. So then we get to the point now to where he says that there are diversity of gifts. Now we can understand how these gifts work. If you break them down and you have them there in your note, three of the gifts are called Ottoman's gift. And it is so important because the idols that we were under were dumb. They cannot speak. Okay. Order and gift. The every time you read in the book of Acts that the Holy Spirit fell on people, the first manifestation that came out of the people is they began to speak in other tongues. Now, why why is that? Why? Why is it that all of the sudden the Holy Spirit brought a prompting within the people to prophesy and to speak because before that you couldn't. It's just that simple. See, you were connected to a dead socket. It looked like a real one and everything and you were plugged in, but there was no juice flowing from there. You could not see, you could not hear, you could not smell, you could not taste. When you were plugged into the spirit of God, guess what? The light came on. Your mouth moved. You were able to speak Previous Next Home

ONE BODY To teach believers the biblical truth that the Church is one body with many members, each uniquely gifted and placed by God. The message aims to encourage listeners to embrace their individual calling, support one another in love, and walk faithfully in their God-given role within the body of Christ, free from judgment and division, while drawing strength from the Word and the Spirit. ONE BODY Minister Lisa Kane August 14, 2024 Objective: To teach believers the biblical truth that the Church is one body with many members, each uniquely gifted and placed by God. The message aims to encourage listeners to embrace their individual calling, support one another in love, and walk faithfully in their God-given role within the body of Christ, free from judgment and division, while drawing strength from the Word and the Spirit. Synopsis: In this message, Lisa Kane opens with 1 Corinthians 12, emphasizing that believers, though diverse, form one united body in Christ. She explains that every member—whether strong or weak, prominent or unseen—has a vital place in God’s design. Using scriptural insights, Lisa unpacks the meaning of spiritual gifts, showing how ministries extend beyond the traditional “five-fold” into a broader range of roles such as apostles, prophets, teachers, helpers, administrators, and more. The teaching highlights the responsibility of stronger believers to honor and uplift those who are weaker, guarding against judgment and division, and instead co-laboring in unity. Lisa stresses that ministry is not burdensome but flows out of joy and relationship with God, whether through small acts of kindness or larger leadership roles. She illustrates this with testimonies of believers who followed their heart’s joy—such as caring for children or serving the elderly—and found God opening doors for ministry. The message closes by reaffirming that all gifts and callings come from the Holy Spirit, who equips and directs each believer. Lisa encourages her listeners to seek God personally, spend time in His Word, and allow Him to reveal their unique ministry path, reminding them that being part of Christ’s body is both a privilege and a calling to love, serve, and build one another up. Inspired Teaching - Written and/or Transcribed from Video Above: Hello and welcome to the House of Faith Ministries. I'm Lisa Kaine and I'm recording this message on Wednesday, August 14th, 2024. Welcome. Let's open up in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word. We bless your word that it does not return void. We bless our ears to hear it. We bless our hearts and minds to receive and believe it. and we bless our soul and spirit to walk in your word, to walk in the relationship we have with you, to walk in the ministry and the joy and the peace that you've given us because your yoke is not heavy. It is light. There's no burden here, Father God. And we thank you. We thank you for your word, your anointing, your presence. And in the name of Jesus, amen. Amen. Amen. Welcome. Glad to have you here. This message is called one body. Let's go to our opening scripture here. And that is in 1 Corinthian 1 Corinthians 12:31. But covet earnestly the best gifts and yet show I unto you a more excellent way. Oh, I love this. I want to uh just establish a little uh groundwork here. If you're new to listening to any of the messages, all of my newer messages in the last year or two have this type of style to it where I put the scripture here and the bolded word is in the King James version. When they translated uh and wrote the King James version, they had multiple words they can use for that scripture. They picked one, they used it. So in this case, use um earnestly here. It it also means to have a warm feeling uh for or against something. Uh the best is also represented by stronger and gifts means gratuitity. So I'm just adding these extra words in to give you a deeper meaning of the scripture is what I'm doing. Okay. So now let's get dive right in and uh you know just to kind of give you an idea what the purpose of this teaching is show you how many options you have at being a part of the body of Christ. And when I say options, choices, how to be in the ministry of the body of Christ. So, we're going to describe the body of Christ and we're going to show you what the Bible shows you as ministries and where everything kind of fits into every category. Right? So, we're going to go and we're going to be focusing on 1 Corinthians 12. So, let's start in verse 12. We're going to read verses 12- 14. For as the body is one, now the body is a sound whole and hath many members. A member is a limb or a part of the body, and all the members of that one body being many, are one body. So also is Christ. For by one spirit, and when you hear the word spirit, it's a current of air. For by one spirit are we all baptized or fully wet into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free, and have been all made to drink irrigated into one spirit. For the body is not one member but many. So just to kind of give you an idea here of what we're talking about, you are seeing how it takes a village to operate in the body of Christ. Now the body of Christ can encompass multiple churches. It can encompass any believer out there. Whether that believer is currently in a church or in a sanctuary. If you are a believer, you are part of the body of Christ. Now, to become a believer, Romans 10:9 says that if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. That's part of being the body of Christ. Now, if you want to go into a ministry in the body of Christ, you do need to be waterbaptized. So when you go look at Jesus when he was water baptized, he came up being fully wet and the dove landed on him and the dove represented the Holy Spirit. So then you go into ministry because that's when uh Jesus went and defeated the devil fasting 40 days and he the devil was a done deal and Jesus was able to move into his ministry. He healed. He uh had the blind see. He delivered people from demons. So you're going to see though that there is a church and there's a structure to the church and we are one body and there are different parts of that entire body. So as we saw here in in verses 12 through 14, we're part of a whole. In other words, I can't do all of these. Now I I want you to understand I can do some of these. I just can't do them all at the same time. And the Lord can move me from gift to gift. He's done that with multiple people. But our part is unique to what God has us doing it. And it could be as simple, you know, part of being the body of the Christ is ministering to others. It could be as simple as smiling and showing joy to others or it could be as complicated as leading a church, a congregation. Um, but did you notice the word drink in that scripture? It also means irrigate. Each of us are drinking from the same spirit. So you get this visual where here's the spirit and there is an irrigation path coming from that spirit to each and every one of us as we partake and drink from that same spirit. And what you have to realize is the spirit, the holy spirit is the word of God. So you can't drink from false ideologies such as wokeism or the latest popular acceptance of tolerance. You drink from the word of God. And how do you drink from it? You read it so that you know if someone is misleading but by not teaching in context or purposely using the scripture for their own justification. You have to be very careful. This is how we the body of Christ keeps ourselves separated from worldly thoughts and worldly things. And I want you to understand, don't think of yourself as someone who doesn't understand the Bible. you you you can read it, but it doesn't make any sense to you. You have the Holy Spirit just like anyone else in the word of God does. And he the Holy Spirit will show you if someone is missing the mark with their teaching and he will protect you and keep you from being deceived. very very important that you understand that and that you are reading the word of God because you have a responsibility and you will not get away with being ignorant because the Holy Spirit is convicting you and showing you every day how to be in his word. So let's continue on. We're going to go to verses 18 through 20. We're still in 1 Corinthians 12 verse 18. But now hath God set the members, every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased, choose or prefer him. And if they were all one member, where would where were the body? But now are they many members yet one body? So he's reinforcing here that we're all one body. But I want you to notice what Paul is saying here. There's a measurement of each person in the body of Christ. And you're going to see that here in just a moment as we get into scriptures. But he's he's trying to get you to understand that there's every member. Every person is a member. Doesn't matter who you are. If you're a believer in Christ, you're part of that member. And God assigns us a place as he pleases. He prefers, he chooses. And he knows your heart. He knows how best to place you. This is how we are one body because we don't all do the same thing. I was just listening to testimony last night at our Tuesday night Bible study and one of the women, she just brings people into her home if they're in need. She says, "Here, I have a place for you in my home." That is part of ministry. That is part of this. We're gonna get into this a whole lot more and I want you to see where you can be a part of this ministry, where you place yourself in there and what you can do. And God's ministry is not a heavy burden. It's not hard and it's not tiresome. It is beautiful and he does it at your level of joy. He's This is a relationship that God is having with you. And when you're having that relationship with him, he knows what you like. There's another lady who shared a testimony last night. She loves children. She loves working with children. That is her thing. And she's about to start up a daycare at her church who had none. And they are working with her. They're paying for everything. They brought her in because of the joy of her heart. The Lord opened the door there. That's how that's another ministry. You hear theologians talk about a five-fold ministry. There's many more ministries than that. We're going to get more into that. Let's continue on with verse 22 here in 23. Nay, much more those members of the body which seem to be more feeble are necessary. We're going to get to that in just a moment. And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, upon these we bestow more abundant honor. And our uncom parts have more abundant comeliness. Oh, this is very very important there. Here again is that measurement. He's reinforcing that we're one body and now he's showing you the different levels of each person. There are some who are strong and mighty in the body of Christ. And there are some who could barely wake up every day, who could barely pray, but God hears them. And God is with each and every single one of them. But notice what he's telling the strong to do. Place your hedge of protection around them. Look at this. When you bestow, you are putting your hedge around them and you're calling them abundant honor. You are placing them in abundant honor. They're weak and we have to give them more honor. Part of that ministry is going up to them saying, "Can I pray with you? Can I minister to you? Can I help you with something?" There was a testimony in the church a few months ago that I heard where an elderly woman, this young kid, he's got to be 18, 19 years old. He came and he said, "I'm going to do the hard things for you over your house. I'm going to take care of your house." He cleaned the windows. He was taking out the trash. He was doing the lawn. That's a ministry. You see, in that measurement of the body of Christ, we do not judge one another. We're going to see that here in scripture. So, as we're more active in the body of Christ, someone like me who's strong, I'm intercessory prayer. I'm praying the Holy Spirit into you, moving you, and then God brings in another person to be there, help you. But the Holy Spirit is working through each of us over them. And we give much honor to those who are weak because we're trying to lift them up, trying to bolster them, trying to give them that courage, that strength that they need to do that. And there are many ways we can do that. I pray and I forgive them here in the spirit in my secret place. And I tell those demons to get lost because you need an opening door to move. So once you take care of the spiritual matter, you can be there for them. You can help them through their situation. You can share to your testimony and hopes. They grab a hold of that and know that God is real and still very active today. One of the reasons why they're weak is because their belief, their faith isn't so high. But when they see your faith, it starts to bolster them. Oh, hallelujah. I hope you guys are getting this because see this is your responsibility as being part of the body of Christ. Let's continue on and look at verses 24 and 25. Um for our now he's still talking about looks where when you look at someone because this is what we tend to do. I'm guilty of this. You look at somebody and you wonder, are they all there? Um, and you wonder, why aren't they stronger in the Lord? Why aren't they able to do this? And see, that's judging. So, what Paul is addressing is that attitude so that we can be in this body of Christ without that attitude, but going in and looking and seeing them differently, seeing them with God's eyes. For our comely well-formed, noble parts have no need. See, I have no need of what does it show? Employment, demand, use, want. But God hath tempered the body together. He co-mingled, combined, having more, having given more abundant honor or value, money paid to that part which lacked to be later or inferior. You see, someone who's struggling, they're realizing and recognizing the sin that they come from, have been living in, and they're struggling. And so, what Paul is saying is that they have had a higher price paid for them by Jesus who redeemed them on the cross. And they haven't quite recognized that yet. So our part is to co-mingle with them and encourage them. Give them that honor. Let them know they are redeemed by the blood of Jesus. They're saved just like me. And just cuz my faith is up here and I don't have any need of that anymore, I still can give it to others. And by the way, there are times I will need it. There's times we hit a low point. Even if we've been a believer for 50 years, a strong believer, there are times where we struggle internally with what's going on. And so roles can reverse. This is why we're co-mingling together as a one body, a body of Christ encouraging each and everyone. And look at this. He says that there should be no schism, no split, no gap, no division, no rent in the body, but that the members should have the same care that we're care to be anxious about. Take thought one for another. So I should be thinking and you should be thinking about those around us plus ourselves. We should be encouraged to go and be with them. Hallelujah. I I hope that you guys are getting this. Uh and and as you think about them, you you're you're seeing them through God's eyes. You're you're seeing the hurt and the need. You're going to see here in verse 26 here in just a moment that when they suffer, we suffer. But when they have a great testimony, we rejoice with them. We cannot have this gap or this schism in here. We have to be one body joining at the arms, the hands, and forgiving one another, encouraging one another, lifting one another. Oh, hallelujah. I hope you're getting that. Let's go look at verses 26 and 27 so we can continue and get this. And whether one member suffer, which experiences pain, all the members suffer with it. or one member be honored, full of glory, magnified. All the members rejoice, sympathize and gladness, congratulate with him. Now ye are the body of Christ and members a limb part of the body in particular. Each of us are in particular members of the body of Christ. So as an assembly, if we have someone suffering, we gather around with them. We show them that we're there. We suffer with them. And as an assembly, when they're sharing their testimony, they're excited. We get excited with them. This is how we work together as one body moving under the spirit of the Holy Ghost because we are irrigated by the word of God, by the Holy Spirit. each and every one of us doing our part because we are a particular limb in that entire body. Now let's go to verses 28 and 29. I want you to see this. And God had set some in the church. So this is where we're going to get into what a lot of um theologians and pastors and preachers talk about as a five-fold ministry. Well, I there is a five-fold ministry, but there's more than a five-fold ministry. It's more and I want you to see the more because you may not be called to be a preacher or a teacher. Um, look at me. I do webcam teachings. You know, I'm not called to be a pastor and I that's not my calling. In fact, my calling is to teach and to you. Let's get into it. I want you to see something here. Verse 20. And God hath set some in the church. A church is a calling out or an assembly. First apostles, a delegate ambassador, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, reliefs, diversities of tongues. And I'm going to continue in verse 29 here in just a minute. I want you to see something here. So, as a lot of people talk about this five-fold ministry, notice there were a lot more than five-fold ministry. In fact, let's go count them. Let's count them. You've got uh apostles one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Did I count that right? So, you have apostles, prophets, teachers, miracles, gifts of healing, helps, governments, and diversity of tongues. I see eight there. So we have eight min ministries, not a five-fold, an eightfold ministry. Amen. So let's go over them. Let's talk about them. So we saw that apostles, they're ambassadors of Christ to the world. Paul and Peter very examples of ambassadors. A prophet foretells or is an inspired speaker. Another way to look at that is they're poetic. They they they prophesy poetically. Look at how Isaiah and Jeremiah and the prophets write their books. It's very poetic. Teachers, they teach what they know because they're masters of what they teach. And in order to be a teacher, you need to be a student first. If you want to teach the word of God, you need to be in the word of God, allowing the Holy Spirit to reveal the scriptures to you. And I'm called to teach. What I want to do is I want to take you to um a scripture here about teaching. I because I'm a teacher, I want to elaborate a little bit more on the ministry of teaching. Okay? I want to I want to show you something because if you see how teaching works through the Bible, hopefully you get into the Bible and you will find out how all the other ministries work through the Bible. Okay? You can see what Paul and Peter did as apostles. You can see what prophets did. Now let's look at what teachers do. So let's go to 1 Corinthians 2 12-16. Says, "Now we have received or take not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God that we might know, be aware of the things that are freely given to us of God, which things we also we speak." When you see when you teach, when you become a teacher, you have been a student. You're hearing the word of God. He is filling your cup up with the scriptures. Well, then what happens is when you go to speak it, you're now telling it now you're preaching it not in the words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Ghost teaches. Comparing. See that word comparing means to judge one thing in connection with another. So comparing spiritual things which is the non-carnal ethal with spiritual or supernatural things. And then look at this. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the spirit of God for they are foolishness. Remember the walls of Jericho? What did God tell Joshua to have Israel do? March around the city, blow the trumpet and shout. And he did it specific mountains and all that. You can go read that. And then the walls came tumbling down. That was absurd to go and march, be quiet, and then shout, "Wait a minute. If I'm going to defeat a city, shouldn't I have weapons of mass destruction, more bows and arrows, more this, more that?" No, it was absurdity. See, God used Israel to show that worldly thinking is an absurdity. It's a foolishness. But we can see that the wisdom of God may seem foolish to the world, but to him it's not. And he moves in that. Does that God God likes to do this kind of stuff? If you didn't figure that out yet absurdity unto him, neither can he know them because they are spiritually or divinely discerned. And discerned means scrutinized. You see, people can't know. people of the world who are living by the world can't know what's going on uh spiritually because they're not being definely uh divinely um directed by the Holy Spirit. Now verse 15, but he that is spiritual judges. He scrutinizes, investigates, examines, asks all things. Yet he himself is judged of no man. You see, when you're teaching under the spirit of God, they can't judge you because you're under God's guidance, under the spirit, under the Holy Spirit, not worldly. Because the world doesn't even know what they can't even define what a woman is right now. They can't even come together in unity to try to fix major issues in the world. Everything is about me, me, me, me. That's how the world thinks. and they think they know what's best for you. That's why you ought to follow them. They're wrong. It might some of the things might they're thinking might sound right for some situations, but then they're leaving out gaps and they leave all these other people hanging. It'll never be fixed through the world. It will always be fixed through the Holy Spirit, through God. Uh verse 16, for who hath known the mind intellect of the Lord that he may instruct, drive together, unite him? But we have the mind of Christ, the intellect of Christ. We have that. Oh, that is very very important. Now, so, so let's look at these teachers. You see, there's a lot of people that go to seminary school, but when they teach, they don't understand the scripture because they don't understand the spiritual aspect of the living word of God. They don't understand why God heals sometimes and sometimes he doesn't. He they don't understand why people get cancer. They don't understand why little children die. And the scripture tells us all of this. So what do we do? We have to spend time with Christ so that we have the mind of Christ that bubbles out of our mouths. His and how do you spend time? It's getting to know his word. See, when you hear a teacher say something to the effect like I I don't understand this, but this is what it says. There's a big red flag there. You now know that person, you need to pray for that person because they're trying to be a teacher, but they can't because they're not in the spirit with God. And they'll avoid certain scriptures because it makes no sense to them, because it's absurd to them, because they're not with the intellect mind of Christ. I hope you're getting this. So, as a teacher, you need to have the mind of Christ. You have to be Christlike. This is why I can sit here and teach on forgiveness because I do it. Christ said to forgive, I forgive. And he says, "Whatever you forgive, I will forgive." Well, I take that and I operate in that. You And so when you find these people that are having trouble uh uh not understanding, they desire it. They just they want to do it their way. And they haven't got into the secret place with the Lord. They haven't gone to him. They haven't asked him. They haven't sought him. They haven't searched him. They haven't looked. They haven't strived to understand the mind of Christ. They haven't asked him to reveal the mystery or answer their questions. So, you know, that's teaching. And I hope that you see how being in the word of God in the secret place with the Lord will help you in every ministry because it's a gift from God and he will do it with you. Whatever the joy of your heart is. If your joy is taking care of children, then he's going to open the doors for that with you. That's how he works. But remember, we're looking at eight separate things that he identified. I just got to teachers. Let's go back to reading again. We're at miracles. Now look at this. So he says after, so you see thirdly teachers after that miracles. That word miracles means force, miraculous power, ability. What does that mean? See, there are those who let the Holy Spirit move through them, allowing the miracles to happen. So, an example could be in a situation where someone who hasn't been living a great life now has to go to court, but they repented. They called on God and their family is with their church and they're all praying. And then the favor of the Lord is upon that guy and the court system finds favor on him and he gets either a lesser sentence or he's cleared of it all. That's somebody who has a ministry in the gift of miracles. But it's and it could be the entire body doing that together because when you pray in unity, you create miracles. The next one is gifts of healing. And I know uh when you see somebody get healed, it's a it's a gratuitity from the Lord. It's a gift because he can heal or he cannot. If you look at Jesus ministry about healing, you're going to find that most of the people that were healed were by their own faith. Jesus didn't even have to touch him. Remember the centurion who said, "My servant is sick. Hey, you don't even have to come to my house. I'm not worthy of you to come to my house, but you tell your servants. It's like me. I have to tell my servants and I respond to those who tell me what to do." And Jesus marveled at him. See, look at how much faith he has. Your servant is healed. Jesus never even went. Well, a gift of healing is done through faith. And you if you have faith and they don't, you can intercede on their behalf and say, "Lord, I'm applying my faith to their healing and you will see them healed. I'm I do this all the time." And it's neat to see the testimony of the healings that take place in the church. And the funny thing is, they don't even know I'm doing it. They don't have to know. They just know that, hey, yeah, God healed me. That's all they need to know. God healed. But as a member of the body of Christ, we can initiate that and be part of that ministry because it's a ministry. What do we have next here? After gifts, we have helps. Helps. That's relief. You know what helps is? It's taking like the uh young man I I used as a testimony earlier. This young man went to an elderly woman's house. They bonded. They they chatted about everything. He's there. She makes him a meal and they sit down. They talk and they'll talk for hours, but he's there cleaning her windows doing all the hard work she physically cannot do. That's helping. How about helping somebody who is at the hospital, who had surgery, who came home, the Bible study I attend on Sunday morning class, they are called the servants class. They're there for that. They go and take meals to these people to help them get through. They help clean their house, keep their house clean, help them get to that's part of the ministry of being a part of the body of Christ. That's what that is. And then you have, let's see, what else do we have? We have governments. You know, let me see if I counted this right earlier. See, apostles, prophets, teachers, miracles, gifts, helps, governments, diversity. Yeah. Yeah. I count it as eight. It's still eight. I don't know why I keep thinking it's nine. It's not governments. What's governments? What does that have anything to do with it? There's many parts to running the body of Christ. And the governments has to do with the administration, the finance. Maybe you're just somebody who has a lot of money because the Lord has blessed you and you have a heart for managing money. You can be donating, tithing, helping build churches. Uh part of the government is building maintenance. Uh and you know what? Here's what's so funny. This is a great example of how the body of Christ works as one. And I want you to see this and I want you to get this. The janitorial services are just as equal to the pastor behind the pulpit. You want to know why? They're both equal. There is no difference. And like the servants class and somebody being there serving, that is equal to all this. You want to know why? Because when you walk into a church and you hear that preacher preach, but if you go to that bathroom, that bathroom is dirty, you ain't going to go back. You don't want to go back. That preacher might have been good, but who's who's cleaning the bathroom? That janitorial service is just as important as any ministry that the Holy Spirit has given us as a body of Christ. That is part of the government portion of walking in the body of Christ. I hope you get that. The last one is diversity of tongues. Let's go look at that. Diversity of tongues. Diversity of tongues is like, let's say you have somebody who's deaf and you have somebody could do sign language or you're an English service, but you have Spanish a a good Spanish speaking or only Spanish- speakaking uh group of people showing up. You you invest in those translators and they can hear the scripture. They can hear your teaching in Spanish while they're sitting there. That is diversity of tongues in the body of Christ. Now, we do have speaking of tongues as a gift, but in this particular case, you're just dealing with the multiple language in the body of Christ. Somebody interpreting, somebody who can speak more than one language. God set that example for us to see. And that again is part of being the body of Christ. Now where we want to do is go look and see what the conclusion of the matter is. Right? Let's conclude with 1 Corinthians 12:30 through31. Have all the gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? Let's go back. I want to show you something here in that last set of scriptures we were looking at because I didn't read that scripture now that I realize it. Let's see here. Here we go. Here we go. Here we go. Says verse 29. Are all apostles? are all prophets, are all teachers, are all workers of miracles. Now, we can go look at that closing scripture. Are have all the gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? What he's saying here is you can't do all of them by yourself all of the time because you're not God. That's what he's saying. Verse 31, but covet, this was our opening scripture, covet earnestly the best gifts, yet show I unto you a more excellent way. In other words, there's more than these gifts. And he's going to show you the path to that. He's going to open the doors because there's somewhere in your heart that you have a particular thing that you do very well. And God is going to do. You know, mine is praying in secret. Intercessory prayer warrior. And you know what? I enjoy it. I make a way when my family life alters my daily routine. And it does. As a woman, I'm a mother. I'm a grandmother. And I have to deal with the changes in my family, cook and clean and all that kind of fun stuff. I still make a way to go before the Lord. How do you want me to do this? What are we going to do, Lord? Okay. So, like last week, we were on vacation. So, I pray certain prayers throughout the week. So, I took Mondays and Wednesdays prayed, prayed them on Monday. I took Tuesdays and Thursdays and I prayed them on Thursday or Tuesday. So, that way Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, I had off on vacation because it's a joy for me to do that. I love praying like that with the Holy Spirit and he makes a way for me to do that. Gives me the time. Now I ask you, what ministry do you want to do? What's in your heart that the Lord can open the door for you? Start by spending some time with him, asking him questions, seeking, finding, opening the word of God, and let him lead you. and he will open the doors for you. I promise you that. Let's close in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word and we bless your word that it does not return void and that we are encouraged to walk in the ministries that you have given us, Father God, for it is the joy that you place in our hearts to do the things that you called us to do. Thank you, Lord. We love you, praise you, and honor you for what you're doing. And I thank you for showing us this teaching. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Amen. Amen. God bless you. I will see you in the next message. Bye-bye. Home Previous Next
