THE GOOD SEED The objective of this teaching is to help believers understand the meaning and significance of Jesus’ parable of the wheat and the tares in Matthew 13. The message aims to show why God allows good and evil to coexist in the world, how the final separation of righteousness and wickedness will occur, and how individuals must choose to walk as children of the kingdom—the “good seed.” The teaching also emphasizes the urgency of repentance, the responsibility of believers to share God’s Word, and the assurance of peace and salvation for those who remain in Christ. THE GOOD SEED Minister Lisa Kane July 10, 2025 Objective: The objective of this teaching is to help believers understand the meaning and significance of Jesus’ parable of the wheat and the tares in Matthew 13. Synopsis: Lisa Kane, in her message “The Good Seed,” begins with prayer and frames the teaching around Matthew 13:24–30, where Jesus shares the parable of a man sowing good seed in his field, only for the enemy to sow tares among the wheat. She explains the distinction between historical events like Noah’s flood and symbolic parables meant to convey deeper truths. Breaking down Jesus’ interpretation of the parable (Matthew 13:37–43), she identifies the Son of Man (Jesus) as the sower of the good seed, which represents the children of the kingdom, while the tares represent the children of the wicked one, sown by the devil. The field is the world, and the harvest at the end of the age will bring separation by God’s angels: the wicked will be gathered and cast into the fire, while the righteous will shine in the kingdom of their Father. The teaching highlights God’s decision-making process throughout history, particularly His choice to preserve humanity after the flood and ultimately redeem mankind through Jesus Christ. It stresses that each person must decide whether to follow righteousness or remain in sin, with eternal consequences. Lisa calls on believers to urgently warn and intercede for unbelievers, as deception and confusion from the enemy run rampant. She underscores that choosing Christ makes one a child of the good seed, shining with God’s light and destined for eternal life. The message concludes by urging believers to seek first the kingdom of God, walk in righteousness, and continue sowing the Word to bring others into salvation. Inspired Teaching - Written and/or Transcribed from Video Above: Hello and welcome to the House of Faith Ministries. I'm Lisa Kaine. I'm recording this teaching on Thursday, July 10th, 2025. Welcome. Let's open up in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word and we bless your word. I pray, Father God, that we're ready to hear your word and that you set aside all the distractions and that you have us thirst and hunger for your word. That you do bring answers to questions that we have. uh the decision-making process, for example, of letting this world continue on in the condition that it's in after even after Noah's flood. I thank you for showing us your decision-making process. I thank you for showing us uh the answers that we have questions to. Thank you, Father God. And I pray that we do not forget your word. That your word is implanted in our word, in our bodies, in our minds, and that your word manifests that we can just share your word to others around that also have questions and that are thirsty and hungry. Thank you, Lord. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen. Amen. Amen. It's going to be a neat teaching. I I I like this word because it does answer some questions, you know, like why, Lord, why did you decide to not end this? I mean because we've got a lot of evil and evil is very rampant in this world right now today. But it's it it is a question that we have in the back of our minds sometimes. Why do you do this? So anyways, I'm calling this teaching the good seed. And let's start here. We're going to be in Matthew uh 13. And uh before we begin, if you're new, welcome. I appreciate you taking the time. I just teach supplemental teachings to the church. Uh we are just an online ministry. That's all we are. and I just teach what the Bible says and I'm just making certain that the word of God is getting out there because that is heavy on my heart and I want to make sure that the world hears the word of God. Obviously, not everyone is going to listen to me or anything of that nature, but I'm doing my part and I hope that you're doing your part with whatever Christ calls you to do. I'm called to be a teacher and an intercessor, prayer warrior. So, that's what my calling is and I just share that with you all online. Also, if you're new, you're going to see that I present the scriptures in the King James version. It's the closest version to the original text. Also, when you see on the screen uh the black bolded word there, like in this case, parable, that is the original word in the King James version that the translators chose to use when translating that scripture. The words after in parentheses are additional words from the Strong's Hebrew Greek dictionary. In other words, there more words that we could have used in lie of the bolded word if we wanted to. I bring those extra words in because it really brings a depth to the understanding of what the original text was. I rather teach from that perspective than let's say implied uh perspective. I don't want to just give you an an implied uh idea. I want to give you substance from the word of God. Amen. All right. So, we're in Matthew 13. Uh, another parable. Now, the word parable there means similitude, fictitious narrative. So, let's make sure that we understand what a parable is because this is very, very important. You see, Noah's flood is not a parable. That's an actual event that takes place. I know a lot of pastors, a lot of teachers will say, "Let's go to the story of Noah's flood, or let's go to the story of Daniel in the lion's den, uh, or Jonah and the whale." All of those are not stories. They're actual historical events that took place. Well, what Jesus is about to teach us though is a parable. It is something of a like. It's not a true story. It's not an event, but he's telling you something in this parable, and then he's giving the interpretation so that you have an understanding of what it means. So, we're going to go to this parable in verse 24. It says, "Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, now Jesus is talking. He says, the kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good, beautiful seed in his field." So, good seed is a beautiful seed. And that's what this message is about. We're talking about the good seed. But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tears or false grain among the wheat and went his way. But when the blade was sprung up and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tears also. So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, "Sir, not thou sew good seed in thy field? From whence then hath it tears?" You know, he's saying, "I saw I thought I saw you putting good seed. What happened here? where where this this bad false grain coming from? And so um he said unto them, "An enemy hath done this." The servant said unto him, "Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?" But he said, "Nay, lest while ye gather up the tears, ye root up also the wheat with them." And then verse 30, "Let them let both grow together until the harvest. And in the time of harvest, I will say to the reapers, gather ye together first the tears, and bind them in bundles to burn them. but gather the wheat into my barn. So, this is a parable. Now, I didn't bring all the scriptures in here about all of this. But one of the thing you can do is go and read chapter 13 and get all of the in between stuff because it's going to kind of help you understand this a whole lot better. So, what you want to do is you want to look at uh what he's talking about. And he he goes into actually a few different parables that he's all all these parables are talking about the same thing the the same thing he's liking it to. He's saying this is what this is like and he's going to show you. So now I'm going to go start reading the scriptures where he's translating the parable to the disciples because the you know the disciples had asked him why are you speaking to them in parables and Jesus answers I give you the answer because to you is given the mystery the revelation of the word. Anytime that you and I are believers in the scripture we have the blessing of understanding what Jesus was trying to explain. Uh, I'll tell you this much. Theologians want to know. They can't know unless they got a relationship with Jesus. They won't understand this. It It's like there's a blinder in front of them and they can't understand it. But we're given the permission to understand. I have a relationship with the Lord. And in First John 4, it tells us to test the spirit. I declare that Jesus Christ is the son of God and that he came in the flesh and died on the cross for our sins and rose again three days later. That means I am of God. I walk with God. I work with God. I teach with God. So now that that is established, let us go and look at what Jesus was trying to explain here. Amen. So now the explanation comes because the disciples asked him to explain this parable. So now we're down in uh we're still in Matthew 13, but we're in verse 37. He answered and said to them, "He that sweth the good seed is the son of man." Now, I want you I'm going to break this down as we go scripture by scripture. Son of man. Who is the son of man? Jesus. Jesus is the son of God who entered into his creation and became a man. Now he is also the son of man. So Jesus has a body. He now died on the cross. He has a body. Before he became the son of man, he was the son of God and he was in spirit. He's the one who said, "Let there be light." And there was like back in Genesis, you can go read Genesis 1 1-4 and and John chapter 1:es 1 through 2 and it will tell you who Jesus was in the beginning and that he did become the son of man. So here he's saying that he's the one who's sewing the good seed. You see, he's the gospel. He is the embodiment of the word of God. Jesus is the word and he became the son of man, the light of the world. He brought us salvation. He's the one that chooses to forgive us because again, you know, when they when uh God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit got together and talked about the flood and deciding to use the flood, they found righteous man, one righteous man, Noah, and then his family was covered under that righteousness. God made a decision to continue and let the world continue to live on in spite of how bad sin got just before the flood because there was only one righteous man left when the flood happened and God called Noah righteous. So with that, he decided to keep going. That's amazing because in all reality there was so much sin. It was awful. It was bad. And he was down to one righteous man. Could he have converted anyone else? It sounds like no. So God had to make a decision here. You're going to see that decision made in this parable. I think this is fascinating because it's it's like, well, why did he decide to do that? Let's continue on. The field is the world. The good seed are the children of the kingdom. So the field is the world. That's every this whole wide world. Okay. And then the good seed are those of us who choose to believe in Jesus. We're the sons of the good seed. We are children of the kingdom. We are part of the kingdom of God. We're the one who walk with Christ in his authority by declaring the name of Jesus over whatever it is or declaring that Jesus is Lord over whatever the circumstance circumstances is are. I have done a lot of teaching on that. So he's identifying in this parable, you who are the good seed are the children of the kingdom. And then he says, but the tears are the children of the wicked one. There's a wicked one. And that means these are children who work wickedness, evil. They're just doing everything bad. They don't choose good, they choose bad. They're walking in unrighteousness. They are walking in sin. and to some deliberately walking that way. And he says the enemy that sowed them is the devil. So now you know that those that walk in wickedness are those who are children of the devil. They Jesus clearly is identifying who these people are. They are the children of the devil. Those of us that walk in truth, righteousness, and walk in with Christ, we're children of God. And big distinct difference between truth. You got two groups of people that are here. Says the harvest is the end of the world. So at the end of the world, we're going to be harvested. Righteous are going to be taken and separated. Evil is going to be taken and separated. And he goes into more detail about that. Look at this. The harvest is the end of the world and the reapers are the angels. So we know that the angels are going to come and they're going to reap. They're going to separate the tears, the evil from the good. Let's continue on. Verse 40. As therefore the tears are gathered and burned in the fire, so it shall be in the end of this world. Look at that. As therefore the tears are gathered and burned in the fire, so shall it be in the end of this world. Tears the evil ones. So once the the wheat grows, you can see a distinct difference between good wheat and bad wheat. Tears and wheat. The tears look different. They're going to be it it's an an uglier color. They're going to look older. They're weak. But Jesus had decided to let them both grow together. And they're here. So, the angels are going to come and separate them. Now, he didn't want to separate them right away. Watch. Let's let's continue reading because I want to get this all in here. The son of man shall send forth his angels. They shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend and them which do iniquity. So, they're going to come through and they're going to grab all the tears first. Uh they're going to grab all the the evil and they're going to separate. There is a separation that takes place here. You're going to have those that offend. Those are walking in sin. Sin is an offense. Also, sin is a separation from God. So, when you walk that way, you will be separated and you will be burned. You're going to see that here in just a moment. And the others are going to be separated and they're going to be light. Let's continue on. Says, "And shall cast them." And this is talking about the tears. The ones who have offended shall cast them into a furnace of fire. There shall be wailing and nashing of teeth. So let's pause here. So and remember this is a parable of a like of what God is saying is going to happen. Now he's saying there is a furnace that's going to burn up all of these evil people that are walking in offense. They did not turn their lives around. They did not repent. They did not choose good. They chose evil. If you're one of those that are watching this, it's now time to repent. And you need to do that and and turn your life around. You're going in the wrong direction. You're heading to a furnace. And it's very clear that this furnace exists. Hell is real. That is not a parable. It is a an actual location. And those who continue to sin will end up burning in hell lake of fire. It's not meant for you to go there. But you will go there because you're not choosing God. Because the only other choice you have is God. And if you're mad about that, too bad. He created you. He's your creator. And you need to humble yourself before him. Choose him because he is good. And if you choose goodness, you choose righteousness. you repent and say, "I rather walk with Jesus and acknowledge that he did come down on the cross and died for us, that he pardoned us, that he redeemed us, that he put his blood and paid for our sins." The moment you believe in that, your life changes and now you're on the good seed side. You are of good seed. So, you still have a chance to repent and become part of the good seed. I will tell you the end of the age is coming and it is coming very very quickly and there is a high probability and in fact I want to say 99.9% chance that this is going to happen in our lifetime. This is where we're headed. Uh as you can take a look at things that are going on in the world. You can take a look at what unbelievers and you can look at their the the way that they look at things. They're very um under a strong delusion and they choose to believe the lie over the truth. They're so confused. Satan does that. He's the author of confusion. So, he brings in all this confusion so that you wouldn't believe that God is God and that Jesus is the son of God. He does that to manipulate and lie to you. Well, Jesus is telling us this is what's going on. And he says, "There's an end that's coming and we're going to harvest and you're going to have to pull out the bad and you're going have to pull out the good and you're going to have to separate." The angels are going to do the separation. We're going to be separated. So the angels are going to have that's part of their job. Now might be not angels that come out and do messaging type of the word angel means messenger. Uh it's probably a heavenly creature that's very similar to what an angel is. uh we call them angels because that's the term we've used for them all these years because they are messengers from other worldly area the heavenly realm. Well, okay, now we're just we get to see that they have another job. Not just telling us a message, they're going to separate us. That's what Jesus is showing us in this parable. Let's continue on. Uh so there's going to be wailing and nashing of teeth. And look at verse 33. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the son in the kingdom of their father. Who hath ears to hear? Let him hear. Notice the sun. S U N. So this is a bright shining light. Then shall the righteous shine forth. So we're going to shine forth when we're separated. See the tears are darkness. They are a they darken everything around it. They mute everything. They dim everything around it. And right now, uh, where wheats and tears were muted, were dimmed. But the moment those tears are removed and separated from us, they're going to be burned in the fire, our light lights up even more. We become very bright, shining. This is those that are of the good seed. Now, this is a parable, but he's also explaining what's going to happen at the end of the age. Let's continue on and look at uh 1 John 3:7-10. Little children, let no man deceive or seduce you. He that doeth righteousness is righteous even as he is righteous, innocent, holy. You see, we have a decision to make. Do you want to be an evil tear or do you want to be a good seed of righteousness believing in the son of man, the son of God, Jesus, our holy savior? You have a choice. which way do you want to go? And for those of you who have been following for quite a while and you're a believer in Christ, we need to be urgent to let our loved ones, family members, friends who do not believe, we need to tell them what's coming. And if they continue to fight, that's between them. They're being deceived. They're being confused by the author of confusion, the devil, which I've already mentioned. He is confusing them. So they're deceived. So we the light need to keep exposing the lies. Continue to show them. Continue to pray for them and say, "Lord, save these people. Help them. Pray for them in the secret place." And what happens in the secret place? It gets shined or shown out in manifestation in the open. And that and and they know it. Your family will know when you're praying for them. They will know. I've seen it. I in my own family they know. So this is a time to humble yourself and get right with God. Spend some time with him. He is returning and he will be throwing those weed the excuse me the tears into the burning fire where there will be wailing and nashing of teeth. They're going to be so angry and in pain and they're going to think no we should not be. If you do not want to believe that Jesus Christ is our creator and son of God that came to die for us and pardon us, why should you be allowed into a place that you don't want to go to? See, your inside tells you you want to go there, but you don't want to follow the rules. It's like illegal immigration. You rather jump the wall and come into the goodness of everything. have the goodness but not pay the dues for the goodness. Did you know that heaven has walls? Yeah. So the nashing of teeth and wailing and the fire is outside of those walls. They can see in but they cannot touch. They cannot come in to get to heaven. Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the father except through me." You have to believe Jesus. Your name needs to be written in the the lamb's book of life. You have to have that. That's you paying your dues to say, "I rather enter into heaven and be there. I do not want to go to the lake of fire. I do not want to burn in the furnace. I'm not I don't want to be a wheat. I would ch I rather choose to be a child of righteousness." You know, Queen Victoria, she chose to be good. And she had a beautiful kingdom that lasted her a long time because she chose to do good. So when you choose to do good and you choose that you will have a beautiful life that the Lord will grant you. Yes, we know that the disciples and the apostles were all executed except for John um the beloved at the end. They were all beheaded or killed on the cross or you know they were martyed. But the here's the truth of the matter though. We have God's peace. You know, I've seen people walking uh through the news, just walking to go be martyed, singing hymns, praising the Lord. They're such a peace that is absolutely incredible. You see, it doesn't matter what happens in this world when you become a believer, when you choose to walk in righteousness, when you choose and finally understand the love of Jesus and what he did on the cross when he saved us. When you finally get that, it's nothing else matters. What matters is my eyes are fixed on my future where I'm going to be glorified in his presence at peace because I choose righteousness and I'm hoping to get as many tears converted to wheat as possible. This is why I do what I do. This is why I teach what I teach. Verse eight, he that committh sin offense is of the devil. For the devil sinnth from the beginning. For this purpose the son of God was manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil. You see, here's another point of what Jesus decided to do. You see, at the time of the flood, he could have stopped everything and said, "I'm done with man." But he loved us so much that he says, "You know what? I'm going to go be their redeemer and I'm going to get a human body male. And that's exactly what he did. He was born of a virgin and he came and he chose to do that to save. That was his choice. He decided to let us grow together and let every person have the choice like he did to decide which side do we want. Do we want to follow the devil or do we want to follow Jesus? That's what he decided. That was his decision at the time of destroy the world and just get rid of it and start over or do whatever else or shall he try to save it? He chose to save it. And I'm so grateful for that. Think of it. I wasn't born back then. I would not even be alive had he not made the decision to even wait 2,000 years after uh his crucifixion. I'm here because of him. Oh, hallelujah. Hallelujah. And it says here, "Whosoever is born," that word born there means procreate, regenerate of God, does not commit sin. For his seed remainth in him, and he cannot sin because he is born of God. You see the parable Jesus said, "The good seed is we're sons of the kingdom. We're children of his kingdom and we choose God." And that's the seed that remains in us. And we cannot sin because we are born of God now. We have changed. We are born of God. We're no longer a part of sin. Oh, hallelujah. Verse 10. In this, the children of God are manifest. We're shining. And notice, you know, here we are shining. We shine brighter than the tears that are around us. We're still muted. We're still dim, but we are shining brightly. And this is another thing is as soon as you start telling people about Jesus, they know the truth and they recognize it. Oh, hallelujah. In this, the children of God are manifest shining. And the children of the devil, whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. You see, the fruit is going to tell us right away who you are. You don't love your brother. You want to hurt him. You're backstabbing him in whatever situation you can take. That tells us you don't believe in God. You're not a child of God at that point. As a child of God, we walk in good right standing. We do not want to hurt anyone. We want to save as many as we can. Oh, hallelujah. Let's go back to Matthew 13. Look at verses 51 and 52. Jesus saith unto them, "Have you understood all these things? Have you put it together? Have you comprehended?" They said unto him, "Yeah, Lord." This is very important to understand. Do you understand that there is an end of the age that is coming and there is going to be a separation of good and evil and that the evil is going to be put into a burning furnace and they're going to burn. There will be nashing and wailing of teeth and that the good is going to shine brightly because they've chosen Jesus as their son of God, as their believer, as their savior. That is very important that we understand. And if you understand it as a believer, you need to help others understand so that they're not deceived, uh, seduced by the devil, manipulated by the devil, not be, uh, under that strong delusion. We need to continue to one, pray in the spirit for them, and two, we need to be there for them to answer their questions because the Lord is working on them. They're thinking about it. Just we got to hope that they think about it quickly. Amen. And then look what he says here in verse 52. Then said he unto them, therefore every scribe which is instructed, that's a a pupil disciple unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is a householder which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old. Let me explain. That is like me taking up my calling to get as many saved as possible. I hope this word goes out there. I hope people listen to it, but I understand if they don't. I just pray and continue to pray and hope for these people to get saved. And I do my part of it. I try to teach it so that you understand. I try to explain it so that you know. And if you take a look at my life as an example and you go through the history of all the teaching, I got a lot of teachings in here from goes back from uh well I did uh written teaching back in 2013, but I started uh vlogging in 2017. So I've been doing this for a long time now. You can see the change the change that's happened within myself, the changes in my life. The Lord has blessed us richly. I choose God and I choose to walk with him and I hope that you do the same. I choose to put first God. You know, Matthew 6:33 says, "Seek first the kingdom of God." So, I'm seeking first by teaching. I want to make sure that uh you all hear the kingdom of God's message. You hear the word of God. You hear the pardon, the redemption because it's such treasure. Having Jesus is a beautiful treasure that I hold in my hands, but I don't want to keep it secret. I want to show you now. People are going to get jealous and angry because I'm holding on to this beautiful gem of redemption and it is blessing me because I am blessed richly because of it. Not just financial blessing, but at peace. I've got such a peace. I have such a solid rock of foundation on the name of Jesus and his salvation that I stand here and I can declare the name of Jesus and know that he is there with me in everything. I hold hands with him. I talk with him. He talks to me through his word. I hear it. This is a blessing. So seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. I choose be right standing. I choose to walk in the goodness. I don't want to walk in evil. I don't want to be a wheat that or a tear that's pulled out and burned in a furnace. No, I choose God. I choose his righteousness. And then says Matthew 6:33 to finish the scripture. All these things will be added unto you. The whole scripture reads, "Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added into you. This is why I can walk in peace. This is why I can stand here and know that I'm healed. know that I'm delivered and know that I have no enemies coming after me that will prevail because when they try to attack, I quote the scripture. No, the gates of hell will not prevail against the church and I'm part of the church. That's how I know where I stand. And I pray over myself every day. I pray over every person I am praying. I'm in constant prayer because I choose good righteousness. I am of the good seed and I hope that you are of the good seed as well and that you procreate. Let your seed, Jesus seed, continue to fall around you. Let that word manifest and let's grow and bring more fruit and bring more harvest in so that they're not going to the furnace. Amen. Amen. Let's close in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word and we bless your word. Lord Jesus, I just pray that people hear this word. Even read it. Just read it. They don't have to listen to my message. I just pray that they read it, understand it, and see and know that you are the son of God. That you have redeemed us. And I ch I pray that they choose to walk with you and that they choose to become part of the good seed that you have offered us. Lord, thank you. Thank you for your word. Let it not uh let us not forget it. Let us hold and cling on to it and let us have the urgency to share that word with others. Thank you Lord. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Amen. God bless you. I'll see you in the next teaching. Bye-bye. Home Previous Next

UNDERSTANDING REVELATION: THE TWO REALMS OF PROPHECY The objective of this study is to help believers understand the book of Revelation through a clear biblical framework by recognizing that the prophecy unfolds in two dimensions simultaneously—the physical realm and the spiritual realm. By identifying where John is seeing the events from and how the earthly and heavenly perspectives align, readers will gain greater clarity about the prophetic timeline, the authority of Jesus Christ, and the ultimate fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan. This teaching aims to remove confusion surrounding Revelation and replace it with understanding, faith, and readiness for the return of Jesus Christ. UNDERSTANDING REVELATION: THE TWO REALMS OF PROPHECY Minister Lisa Kane March 10, 2026 Objective: The objective of this study is to help believers understand the book of Revelation through a clear biblical framework by recognizing that the prophecy unfolds in two dimensions simultaneously—the physical realm and the spiritual realm. Synopsis: Many believers approach the book of Revelation with uncertainty because of its vivid imagery and complex prophetic language. This study introduces a foundational key to understanding the prophecy: Revelation unfolds through two perspectives occurring at the same time—the physical events taking place on earth and the spiritual realities unfolding in heaven. Beginning with John’s physical location on the island of Patmos and his messages to the seven churches, the study establishes the earthly timeline of the Church Age. The narrative then shifts in Revelation chapter four when John is taken into the Spirit and shown heaven’s perspective of God’s plan. From the throne room of God to the unveiling of the Lamb who alone is worthy to open the scroll, the vision reveals the authority, victory, and future reign of Jesus Christ. By recognizing how heaven and earth operate together within God’s prophetic design, readers can better understand the purpose of Revelation—not as a message of fear, but as a divine revelation preparing God’s people for the return of the King and the fulfillment of His promises. Inspired Teaching: Introduction Many believers read the book of Revelation and feel overwhelmed. The imagery is powerful, the visions are intense, and the timeline can appear confusing. Yet the purpose of Revelation is not to confuse us—it is to reveal Jesus Christ and prepare His people for what is to come. The key to understanding this prophetic book begins with recognizing something many readers overlook: Revelation unfolds in two realms at the same time— the spiritual realm and the physical realm. When we begin to recognize these two perspectives, the book of Revelation becomes clearer, more organized, and far more powerful in its message. The Revelation of Jesus Christ Revelation begins with these words: Revelation 1:1 “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place.” This book is not primarily about beasts, plagues, or judgments. It is about Jesus Christ being revealed. It reveals: • His authority • His victory • His return • His kingdom But to understand what John saw, we must first recognize where he was seeing it from. The Physical Realm John begins his vision in a physical location. Revelation 1:9 “I, John… was on the island that is called Patmos for the word of God.” This tells us something important: The opening chapters of Revelation begin in the physical world. John is on a real island, writing to real churches in real cities. The messages to the seven churches describe the spiritual condition of the Church on earth. These churches represent: • real congregations • real spiritual challenges • real believers But they also provide a chronological picture of the Church Age. From the early church until the final generation, the spiritual state of the Church unfolds through these messages. This is the earthly timeline of the Church Age. mansfinaldestiny_txt1_wfl 12.8.… The Spiritual Realm Then something dramatic happens. Revelation 4:1 “After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven… and the voice said, ‘Come up here.’” John is suddenly taken into the spiritual realm. The scene shifts from earth to heaven. This is where many readers become confused. The book begins to show us heaven’s perspective of events happening on earth. From this moment forward, Revelation reveals what is happening behind the scenes in the spiritual realm while history unfolds on earth. Why This Matters Without recognizing these two perspectives, Revelation can feel disjointed. But when we understand that God is revealing two dimensions of the same timeline, everything begins to align. Think of it like watching a historical movie that shifts between two locations. One scene shows what is happening on the battlefield. Another scene shows what is happening in the command center. Both are happening at the same time. Revelation shows us: • what is happening on earth • what is happening in heaven God is revealing the spiritual forces behind world events. The Throne Room of Heaven When John arrives in heaven, he sees the throne of God. Revelation 4:2 “Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne.” This throne represents the ultimate authority of God over history. Even when the world appears chaotic, heaven is not confused. God is not reacting. He is revealing His plan. The Lamb Who Is Worthy In Revelation chapter five, the focus shifts to Jesus Christ. John sees a scroll sealed with seven seals. No one in heaven or on earth is worthy to open it. Until one appears. Revelation 5:5 “Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah… has prevailed to open the scroll.” When John looks again, he does not see a lion. He sees something else. Revelation 5:6 “A Lamb as though it had been slain.” This is Jesus Christ. The Lamb who died for the sins of the world. Because of His sacrifice, He alone has authority over the destiny of humanity. All of heaven declares: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain!” What Revelation Ultimately Shows Us Revelation is not simply about the end of the world. It is about the fulfillment of God’s promises. It shows us that: • Jesus defeated sin • Jesus defeated death • Jesus will return • Jesus will reign And every event described in Revelation ultimately points to one moment: The return of the King. Why This Teaching Matters Today The world we are living in is changing rapidly. Global events, political shifts, and spiritual deception are increasing. Many people sense that something significant is approaching. The Bible told us this would happen. Jesus said: Matthew 24:6 “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars… but the end is not yet.” God did not give us prophecy to frighten us. He gave it to prepare us. When believers understand God’s prophetic plan, fear is replaced with faith. Confusion is replaced with clarity. And uncertainty is replaced with hope. A Final Thought Revelation is not a puzzle meant to discourage us. It is a revelation meant to awaken us. Jesus is coming again. The question is not if He will return. The question is are we ready when He does? LYDIA - WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP To examine the biblical account of Lydia as a model for women in leadership, demonstrating how God equips and uses women for ministry, business, and hospitality in the early church, and to explore the broader transformation of women’s roles in light of Christ’s redemption and New Testament teaching. LYDIA - WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP Minister Lisa Kane June 27, 2024 Objective: To examine the biblical account of Lydia as a model for women in leadership, demonstrating how God equips and uses women for ministry, business, and hospitality in the early church, and to explore the broader transformation of women’s roles in light of Christ’s redemption and New Testament teaching. Synopsis: In this teaching, Lisa Kane continues her series on Women in the Bible by focusing on Lydia, a successful businesswoman and devout worshiper of God introduced in Acts 16. The message begins with prayer, inviting God’s presence and guidance, then connects Lydia’s story with Jesus’ declaration in Luke 19:40 that even stones would cry out if His followers were silent—emphasizing that God uses whomever He wills, including women, to carry His word forward. The teaching outlines Lydia’s conversion under Paul’s ministry, her baptism with her household, and her role in hosting and supporting the apostles, providing a home large enough for gatherings that likely became the foundation of the church in Thyatira. Lisa highlights Lydia’s independence, her financial success in the trade of purple cloth, and her courage in housing Paul and Silas after their release from prison. The message then ties Lydia’s leadership to Revelation 2, where the church in Thyatira is addressed, underscoring both commendations for faith and love, and warnings against false teaching (symbolized by Jezebel). Lisa stresses the importance of discerning truth from false doctrine, walking in forgiveness, and relying on the power of the cross for healing and freedom from sickness. Finally, the teaching broadens the discussion to the transformation brought through Christ’s resurrection. By citing John 20 and Romans 8, Lisa emphasizes that believers—male and female—are no longer “lower than angels” but joint heirs with Christ, empowered to minister in His name. While affirming the biblical pattern of pastoral leadership through husbands and wives together, she reminds women not to discount themselves, since God uses anyone willing to serve Him. The message concludes with encouragement to hold fast to true doctrine, walk in forgiveness, and live in the authority of Christ’s redemption, bringing glory to God. Inspired Teaching - Written and/or Transcribed from Video Above: Hello and welcome to the House of Faith Ministries. I'm Lisa Kaine and I'm recording this on Thursday, June 27th, 20124. Welcome. Let us open up in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word. We thank you for the power and the authority of your name and your presence, Father God. And we thank you for making mighty men and women of God who have served you who has spoken your word and shared your word throughout all the generations and to the world. Thank you Lord. Thank you Lord. Prepare our hearts and minds as you work in us to do the same and to follow in the footsteps of your son Jesus. Thank you. and by the powerful mighty name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Amen. Amen. Welcome. I'm in uh a series called Women in the Bible. I've been doing this now for a handful of weeks. I will continue to do it. There are a lot of women in the Bible. Now, I'm not going in any particular order. No, I'm just letting the Holy Spirit direct me. And it was interesting the last I attend a Bible study on Tuesday nights and Wednesday nights. And uh both Bible studies were talking about the uh women's role in leadership in the church. And uh so here I've been in the women of the Bible series and for whatever reason I kept waking up and it was like the Lord kept telling me speak about Lydia, Lydia, Lydia. So I went and did some homework. And so we're going to be talking about women in the Bible and we're going to be talking focusing on Lydia, women in leadership. That's the title of this message. So let's go to this opening scripture. Luke 19:40. And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that if these should hold their peace or refuse to speak, the stones would immediately cry out, croak, scream, cry out. Now let me explain why I'm using this scripture for opening. I want the purpose of this particular teaching is to show you establish parameters in the past and the transformation of those parameters in the present time in scripture. So this is going to be really really neat. Now the reason I bring this scripture up and this scripture here talking about the stones would cry out. This is when this is Palm Sunday. Jesus is riding on a colt and they're laying down their clothes and palm frrons and all that and they are shouting praise to Jesus and the the Pharisees and the Sadducees are telling Jesus, "You need to tell these people to stop." And Jesus Jesus is the one who's talking. He's the one who says if they hold their peace and the stones would immediately cry out. In other words, God is going to use anyone and anything to speak to us. This is why he uses the stars to speak to us. See, he shows us in the different ways of how he can communicate with us. That is very important. And I want you to see that and I want you to understand that. So, we're going to be talking about Lydia and I'm going to be bringing you through a little bit of history through the word to show you how the transformation takes with what Jesus did through dying on the cross, rising from the grave, and redeeming us. Amen. So we're going to start here in Acts. Acts 16:14 and 15. And a certain woman named Lydia, seller of purple, a female traitor in purple cloth of the city Thotira, which worshiped, revered, adored God. And by the way, just to pause for a moment, when you see the scripture on the screen, and there's a bolded word with parentheses afterwards, the bolded word is the original text it was written in. The parentheses are other words that the author could have translated or the translators that uh translated the Bible into English and so forth, they could have used these other words to translate with. So, I'm just adding those extra words in because it gives us a bigger picture what we're looking at in scripture. So, anyways, uh which worship revered, adored God, heard us, whose heart, which is our thoughts or feelings, the Lord opened that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul. And when she was baptized or fully wet and her household, so her and her household were fully wet, she besought us, saying, "If ye have judged or distinguished, decide me to be faithful, trustworthy to the Lord, come into my house and abide, stay there." And she constrained or compelled us. So this is very interesting. So we have a woman of God. She became a believer. Uh she um heard the word taught to her by Paul. She's a successful businesswoman because she trades in purple cloth. Now, understand this. She's the one dying the cloth. She's got her team of workers. Purple cloth can only be afforded by the rich. So she had a very expensive commodity and was selling to the rich, meaning she was well off providing purple commodity or purple cloth and that expensive commodity. She knew how to run her business. She had been doing it fine and she was organized and successful. A successful businesswoman in the time of that Paul lived. Now I want you to see something here. When Paul brings other people up in the ministry that he's in and where he's at and what he's doing, he's always mentioning uh usually the male and sometimes the wife's name and only depends of how much of the role she's in. So like Priscilla and Aquilla, he worked with that couple. He mentioned both their names. So they were both heavily involved with Paul in the ministry. Well, here he mentions Lydia but no husband. I don't think she had a husband. And in fact, because she deals in purple cloth, she doesn't have a husband in another who had to take care of her in another job. So, she had to have a job in order to be successful. We don't know any other history about her. We just know that she is a successful businesswoman ministering or re um selling to the rich, which means she has money. She's she's got enough. So she has a large enough home where she can accommodate Paul and those with him. Now when you read the rest of that chapter in Acts, we're going to read the last verse here in just a moment. You will see that this is the time where Paul and Silas went to prison and they were worshiping the Lord and the prison cell shook. All the walls fell and the centurion thought he was they were all gone. He was going to kill himself. And Paul said, "Hey, no, no, no. We're right here. Don't don't do that." Well, the next day Paul and Silas were released. Then if we in fact let's go to verse 40 because I want you to see that um that when she they were released look who they went to says and they went out of the prison and entered into the house of Lydia and when they had seen the brethren they comforted her consolation exor prayed them and departed. So they went to Lydia's house. So, she has this successful business where she affords a big enough home to accommodate Paul and Silas and whomever else is there with him. Uh, and and let me point out another thing here. She wasn't afraid to have prisoners or ex-prisoners in her home. She had Paul and Silas in her home who just came out of being in jail. So here she's a very interesting woman, a very interesting businesswoman, one who has her heart on God. Now she lived in a city called Thotira. Don't know if I'm saying that right or not, but I'm going to run with it. And it's believed that she started the church of Thotira. So there is a letter written by Jesus in revelation that John wrote on behalf of Jesus to the le to the church of the doterans. So let's go look at that letter because now I want you to see something that's going to help us understand the role of a woman in the church. By the way, the role of the man in the church as well because you're going to see what Jesus is pointing out. This applies to everybody. Male, female, uh, Jew, Gentile, free, slave, black, white, Asian, Indian, doesn't matter. It applies to everybody. So, let's go to Revelation 2. We're going to be reading verses 18 through 29. And unto the angel or messenger of the church, by the way, a church is a calling out, a meeting, a congregation. So in other words, her home was big enough where people could come to it because that's how they established churches in those days. They were in people's homes. So she had a good amount of people showing up to church in her home in Thotir. So he's talking to the church of Thotir, right? These things sayeth the son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass. I know thy works and charity. That word charity means love, affection, benevolence, and your service or attendance. And your faith, that faith is persuasion, credence, reliance on Christ, and thy patience, which is cheerful endurance, and thy works, and the last to be more than the first. So, pause here for a moment. Jesus is saying, I know all the good things you've been doing. Excellent. Thank you. Those are good. Then let's see what else he has to say. Because no church, no person is perfect. We have to rely on forgiveness with each other and with each church. We have to move in forgiveness to stop the fruit of the evil that is going on from prospering. No weapon formed against us shall prosper. How do you stop it from prospering? You forgive something and it just stops it right in its tracks. So, you're going to see what Jesus is going to point out here now in verse 20. Notwithstanding, I have a few things against thee. Uhoh. See, there's always something. If you think you've made it, think again. Because you haven't. Jesus points out, "Ah, you got something else to work on. There always will be something else to do. Notwithstanding, I have a few things against thee. Because thou sufferest, or you let be that woman, by the way, that woman is a specifically a wife person, Jezebel, which is a false teacher, which calleth herself a prophetus or a female foreteller, to teach, and to seduce, roam astray, my servants, to commit fornication, to act the harlot, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. I'm going to pause here for just a moment. I want you to see something here. This church is allowing a false teaching in here. Keep that in mind. We're going to get to this in just a little bit more. I give her space. I gave her space, time to repent, think differently, reconsider of her fornication, and she repented not. Okay? I want you to see something here with this false teaching. So, there's good teaching and there's false teaching. So, you got people that are in the word and you got people who are not in the word. I'm going to show you that here. Let's go to the next set of scriptures. Verse 22. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, a couch, bed for sickness, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, which is affliction, burden, pressure, except they repent of their deeds. In other words, I'll stop doing it if they just repent. But I'm going to put them in their sick bed. Verse 23. And I will kill her children with death. And all the churches shall know that I am he which searches the res, the kidney, the inmost mind, and hearts. the thoughts or feelings and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. Okay? In the church today and in the past, you had people who got sick and died prematurely. And you have people that don't. There's many people who live to be old. There's many people who die prematurely. Now, why this scripture answers that if you can believe that he Jesus is saying, "Listen, I'm going to put you in your sick bed until you repent. If you go read my prayers in the empowering prayer under houseof faith ministries.org, you will find that those that are blaspheing the Lord, even though I forgive them and I ask the Lord to forgive them and I'm hoping to give them another chance to repent, but if they continue not to repent, I ask the Lord to put them in their sick bed. That's scriptural. That's what he does. He's telling us straight up he does this. So, if there's somebody in the church that has cancer, for example, they're believing in some sort of false teaching and they don't even know it's a false teaching. They don't. That's scary. But the you've got, let's say, Lydia who became a believer in Christ and knew what to do and was able to established the church. Now, keep in mind as the stat the church grew and she got older and eventually passed away, men took over the church because that's what had happened. Men became the dominant pastors. And keep in mind that Paul, Peter, James, Timothy, they were provided instruction on how to establish the office of pastor, the office of elders. And it always talked about pastor being married with his wife and their children under control. It talked about the elders the same principle where their household was in order with God. All of them were following God. And that's how you became a pastor or an elder. Now a pastor is someone who has to meet the needs of every individual in his church. So these mega churches, those pastors can't do it. So what they're doing is they're they're farming it out to others. That's not right. You're the pastor, not others. And maybe what you should do is make more pastors and split the church up into different congregations everywhere. And that those pastors will minister to th that little bit of congregation there. That way you're following scripture. Now, because they're talking about a role of a husband and a wife, and we know that Christ is head of the church, and husband is head of the church, we know that a pastor has to be a male. We know that because that is the established parameters. But keep in mind, look at Lydia here. She's a founder of a church. She had no husband. And yet, look at how much the Lord blessed her. God can use anyone. If he can use the rocks, he can use women, too. So, women, don't you give up. You stand strong because it's by the anointing of the Holy Spirit, by the fruit, that they're going to see your ministry. And they will know by your fruit who you are with Christ, not contaminated by false teaching. Because if you're always sick, you're, you know, when we moved out here to Missouri that first year, which we just had our yearly anniversary a few weeks ago, I we were sick. I think five or six times I finally went to the elders of this new church we're attending and I said, "I need you to pray over me," which is scriptural. See, I'm going back to the scripture. I'm not believing in whatever false teaching. And I believed it was an attack against me for doing what we did with the Lord because he opened the doors to do this for us. And next thing you know, I was fine. I haven't been sick since. You know what? I praise God and give him the glory and I'm taking holy communion regularly. This is awesome. That's how God works. That is how God works. Amen. Amen. Let's continue on to verse 24. But unto you, I say, and unto the rest, as many as have not this doctrine and instruction, and which have not known the depths of Satan, the accuser. And see, there's one clear um item that you can see in the church is the accuser. Who is the accuser? the devil. How many people want to get up and co gossip men and women alike in saying something in the way of did you see so and so? That's a form of accusation. He just took up the devil's role for him. He don't even have to do anything. You did it for him. By the way, that's false doctrine that you're walking in. And if you're wondering why you're sick, it could be your mouth that's in trouble. What is it that you need to do? Repent. Remember Jesus forgave you. Ask you forgive yourself. Go back to the power of the cross. What Jesus did because he forgave everybody on the cross by dying on the cross, redeeming us, raising from the dead. Then you go and take holy communion and that's going to remove your sickness and you won't be sick anymore. So if you, this is a tailtale sign. If you are walking in some sort of sickness on a regular ba basis, go back to the cross. The power of the cross. Amen. as they speak, lay forth. I will put upon you none other burden, weight, or load. So mean, if you're not following the accuser, you're not following, you're you're actually well and doing good, you're in the ministry and all's looking good, the Lord is not going to put on you any other burden. You won't be burdened anymore. So those that have a heavy burden, there's another tail sign. These are things that the Lord is showing you. I need you to get out of that doctrine. I'm putting this pressure on you so that you can realize what's happening so I can teach you to be right and get out of that. Amen. That's what Jesus is doing. Verse 25, but that which you have already hold fast seize retain till I come. He says, hold on to what you got. You're not sick. You're walking in goodness. You're walking in right. That's because you are going to God. Yes, you're walking in righteousness. Yes, you're walking in the word. You're looking at the word. You're living by the word and not by false doctrine. And because of such he tells you, hold on to it till I come. And he that overcomemeth and keepeth my works which were keepest to watch and guard it my works until the end. To him will I give power over the nations. And we're not done. He said, "And he shall rule them with a rod of iron as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers, even as I received of my father. and I will give him the morning star. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the spirit saith unto the churches. Tailtale signs here, my friends. Tailtale signs. These are signs that tell you whether you are walking correctly in the church. It has to be scriptural. This is why I don't believe personally that a woman should be a pastor. It needs to be a husband and a wife. But if the husband was a pastor and he has gone home to be with the Lord and the wife has left, she has every right and every authority to take the role of pastorship at that point and then she can divvy it out or she can just be there with the Lord and let the anointing be upon her because she should be equal with her husband because they both were in ministry unto the Lord and she followed the direction of her husband and through Christ. So she should have the knowledge there. You see how this works? depending on the circumstance and the history and where it's at. That is the power that we see God use in people in ministry. Amen. Now, to show you the transformation of things from old to new. This is why women don't count yourself out because you are a big important part of this. I'm going to go to Psalm 8 and four. uh 84 and5 What is man that thou art mindful of him and the son of man that thou visitest him? For thou has made him a little lower than the angels and has crowned him with glory and honor. Now look at this with the extra words. What is mortal that you're you remember you mention him by the way the word mindful means also full of mind. He's f God is fully con thinking of man of you and I at all times. He knows how much hair we have on our body at any given moment in time. He is so mindful of us. He says and you visit him, you care for him, you avenge him, you bestow him, you oversee him. You made him a little lower than the angels. And these this word angels is gods on the ordinary sense difference and has crowned you encircled to protect from attack him with glory and honor. This is how we're established. Okay? A little lower than the angels. But I want you to see something very very important of what Jesus did. Watch this. I just taught on this recently. John 20:16-1 17. Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself and saith unto him, Raboni, which is the same master. She's at the tomb. And she sees that Jesus is not there. And so Jesus is now revealing himself, "Hey, Mary, this is me. I'm right here." And then he says this. Jesus saith unto her, "Touch me not, for I am not yet ascended to my father, but go to my brethren and say unto them, I ascend unto my father and your father, and to my God and your God." Do you see what just happened here? We're made a little lower than the angels, but Jesus is the son of God. Jesus is telling Mary and Magdalene here, "Hey, I'm going up." And by the way, check this out. He just rose from the grave. He's got a billion souls behind him that he took out of paradise. He's on his way to his father and he stops. We can make this very comical. Everybody bumping back like, "Whoa, why did Jesus just stop? We're going to the father." And Jesus stops to talk to Mary Magdalene, a woman. He stops everything he's doing to talk to her, to share this most important thing. We're no longer a little lower than the angels. Jesus, his father, is our father. Do you see that? He says, "My father, your father, my God, your God." Oh, something changed. Something changes. Go to Romans 8:14. For as many as as are led by the spirit of God, they are the sons of God. You see, we're no longer a little lower than the angels, my friend. A change from history to Jesus took place where now man is with Christ. Now understand this. Yes, we're still in our flesh. So the flesh isn't there yet, but our spirit which has died to this flesh is up there with Christ standing next to Christ as joint hes right before our heavenly father. Oh, let's look at this. For ye have not received to take the spirit of bondage again to fear, but ye have received the spirit of adoption, the whereby we cry, aba, father. The spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit that we are the children of God. And if children then hes of God and joint hes with Christ. So if so be that we suffer with him that we may also be glorified together. Oh hallelujah. I hope you guys are seeing this. We're no longer under the angels. We're next to Christ. Which means when he says go into all the world and preach the good news, who is he talking to? male, female, Jew, Gentile, free, slave, Greek, black, white, Asian, Indian, whoever you are, male, female, whoever you are, you're called to ministry. Look at me. I'm not a pastor, but I am called to teach and preach the word of God. And those that catch this, by the way, continue to watch because they know by the fruit and the manifestation of what's being taught to them and how it grows in them. That is what the calling is. I don't have to be a pastor of a church to teach. Pastors do teach, but really they have the office to minister to their their congregation. If a person in the church gets into the uh the emergency room, they go they go there to be with them. They're praying with them, but they're to keep the church on the doctrine of the word of God and not allow false doctrine in to pray with them and get them back right at the power of the cross. That's the role of a pastor. And he has to do it with his wife because the two work in tandem because they are completed in an image of God. We are created in his image. male and female. I taught that when I talked about Eve. So now, even though I believe that women can't be pastors or elders do the requirements established by Paul and Peter and them in scripture, I believe women are joint hes in the church with Christ just as much as men. And if men falter or fail or they go home to be with the Lord, then God will use woman or whomever is ready and willing that is listening to him speak. I hope you get this. Hallelujah. Be ready. This means you need to get back to the power of the cross. Remember the redemption. This do in remembrance of me. Take your holy communion. If you think you've been too sinful, ask God to forgive you. He will forgive you. And ask him and then say, "Lord, I forgive myself." You see, once you let go and realize the sinner and the wretched, decrepit person that you were, you got to let that go and move forward in the calling of the spirit of God in your spirit. So his spirit will rise in you and you transform, change, you renew your mind. You think differently. You turn back and say, "Wait a minute." But the word of God says, "I'm not supposed to be sick. Why am I sick?" So you begin to follow what scripture tells you. You look at James 5. You go get prayed over by the elders. You forgive yourself. You forgive those around you. Forgive you the history of your genealogies. You forgive your children, your your grandchildren. You forgive them all. You walk in the spirit of forgiveness. And once you do that, God has forgiven you. You are forgiven. Sickness must flee because Christ is rising up in you. And sin and Christ don't mix. Diseases, sickness, and Christ don't mix. They both cannot reside in your body. And if they are, you're in a church that where you're sick and you've been told you you have cancer or this or that. Well, guess what? That's when you say, "Nope. I believe in the true word of God. And if I messed up here, Lord, forgive me. I'm going to I want to get right with you. How do I do it?" And the first thing you do is you ask for forgiveness. You get in your word. You spend time with the Lord. and you begin to find out what the Bible says, not what others say, what the Bible says, because now you get back on the right track with God. Amen. That's how it's done, my friend. Let's close in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word. We thank you for the revelation. And I pray that the enemy does not take this word out of our hearts or minds. That we do not forget the power and the authority of your word, but that we apply it to our lives. that we get right back in right standing with you, Father God. And I thank you for showing us women that we can be more with you and that we know that your Holy Spirit can work through us. We can pray for the sick. We can minister online. We can minister at Bible studies. Father God, thank you. Help us be stronger in your word. And Lord, push us aside and let your Holy Spirit manifest within us, within the woman and within the man, so that we're serving you, giving you all the glory because you are King of glory. Hallelujah, Father God. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen. Amen. Amen. God bless you. Next week is Fourth of July on Thursday. I'm going to take the entire week off and enjoy my vacation week. So, there will not be a teaching next week, but will resume the following week. God bless you, and I'll see you in the next message. Bye-bye. Home Previous Next

ENTER HIS REST The purpose of this teaching is to help believers understand the biblical meaning of entering God’s rest, as taught in Hebrews 3–4 and supported by the Psalms. The message aims to show that rest is not merely physical relaxation but a spiritual act of faith and obedience. By choosing to trust God instead of striving in unbelief or frustration, Christians can experience peace, healing, stability, and victory in their daily lives. < Back ENTER HIS REST Minister Lisa Kane January 6, 2024 Objective: The purpose of this teaching is to help believers understand the biblical meaning of entering God’s rest, as taught in Hebrews 3–4 and supported by the Psalms. The message aims to show that rest is not merely physical relaxation but a spiritual act of faith and obedience. By choosing to trust God instead of striving in unbelief or frustration, Christians can experience peace, healing, stability, and victory in their daily lives. Synopsis: In Enter His Rest, Lisa Kane explores the scriptural call for God’s people to enter into His promised rest. Drawing from Hebrews 3 and 4, she highlights the example of Israel’s disobedience in the wilderness, showing how unbelief kept them from receiving the rest God intended. In contrast, true faith and obedience open the door to peace, stability, and blessing. The message also weaves in insights from Psalms 37, 38, and 116, which connect rest with patience, forgiveness, and the quieting of the soul in God’s presence. Rest is shown to be both a command and a gift—an intentional act of ceasing from striving, trusting God’s provision, and allowing Him to heal both body and spirit. Lisa emphasizes that entering God’s rest equips believers to resist anger, frustration, and fear, while cultivating boldness, faith, and testimony before others. Just as God rested on the seventh day, Christians are called to follow His example by stepping back from self-effort and allowing His Word and Spirit to work within them. Ultimately, rest becomes a weapon of victory, crushing the enemy underfoot, and a testimony of faith that demonstrates God’s peace and power in the midst of life’s challenges. Inspired Teaching: Hello and welcome to the House of Faith Ministries. I'm Lisa Kane and I'm recording this message on Saturday, January 6, 2023. This message is called Enter His Rest. Amen. Let's open up in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your presence and we thank you for your anointing and we thank you for the power of your word, the living word of God. And we thank you that it moves forward. That it strikes and divides and meets the needs of every person deep within their bones. Father God, I thank you. I thank you. And I thank you because you are all powerful. You are glorious. You are the creator. You are the healer. You are the provider. Thank you in the name of Jesus. Amen. And amen. Amen. Amen. Let's go to our opening scripture here in Hebrews. Hebrews 3:19. And so we see that they cannot enter in because of unbelief or that word unbelief means faithlessness or another word for it is faithlessness. Well, you know I am teaching a different kind of message. So this is called enter his rest. My pastor taught on Sunday uh a message on rest and the Sabbath and I you know resonated with me. Normally I don't teach on something that another pastor's taught on but then I heard three other messages. So, I got a total of four messages this week on the topic of rest in the Sabbath. And I thought, wow, Lord, you're talking to me. So, this message is really more for me, but I'm going to share it with you while I teach myself. Amen. So, I've done some research here. We are going to be focusing in Hebrews, and we're going to be focusing on uh Hebrews 3 and 4. So, if you want, get your Bibles ready because we're going to be reading some good chunks of scripture through there. In the meantime, there are three scriptures in Psalms that I want to show you that apply to rest. And it kind of really uh brings to heart the difference between living in sin, living with Christ, because you got to know the difference between the two. I taught on this last week, what the difference between salvation and living for Christ is. So there is something visible that we can see and actually entering or not entering into that rest gives us a clue as to who you are and what kind of life you're living. Amen. So Psalm 37:7, rest in the Lord and wait patiently for him. Fret not thyself because of him who prosperth in his way because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. All of us look out at other people and we all see those that are doing so good, so prosperous, have all the money. I mean, look at our current leadership in the government of the United States of America and how prosperous they are. It's frustrating. But God is saying, look at this or this the author of Psalm here is saying rest. Look at the word rest. To be dumb, see, stop in the Lord. Okay, let's explain because it takes a moment to think this through and understand it. So to be dumb. Okay, so in other words, what you're doing is because you're so frustrated, you get mad and you see these situations. So what that word rest is telling you to do, just stop, pretend that's not going on, be dumb about it, and go to the Lord. Wait a second. How do I do that? Because now the emotions are flying. Look at what kind of emotions he's talking about in the Psalms. He says, "Fret not thyself." And what does that mean? Glow or grow warm. The blood pressure, you're you're getting heated. Your your face turns color when you get angry. It turns red. It just that's the way it happens. Darkens and reds and bulges. Well, he's saying, "Don't let that get to you. Rest in the Lord." What does he say? rest, which means to be dumb. Cease. Stop. Stop yourself. Oh, okay. I gotta stop myself. How do I do that? So, we're gonna be looking into that. Um, now let's look at another verse in Psalm. Psalm 38:3. There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger, neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin. Here we are again about anger. If you're angry at something or someone, look at this. I have no rest. There's no soundness, no wholesome, no I'm not complete in my flesh. My my my bones are not at safe. They they're not healthy. They're not prosperous because I'm in sin and I haven't been forgiven of my sin. So taking rest is an act of obedience or if you don't do it, you're in sin. [Music] which we all know that Jesus, he's the the Messiah. He came to redeem us and pardon us. And because he did that, we get to stop and say, "Lord, forgive us." So, he's showing us, these scriptures are showing us a little bit of self-control here. We have to take heed, make sure we don't let this get out of hand. Let's look at a third verse in Psalm. Psalm 116:7. Return unto thy rest, oh my soul, for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee. Look at this. Return back. You got to get your life back with God in the secret place with the Lord. You have to find that rest, quiet, settled spot home for your soul. Your soul needs to have that quiet moment. And look at because the Lord is treated bountifully with you. You are God will treat you bountifully. This is an act of obedience. He's going to do that. So, let's go to Hebrews. We're going to look at start at three. We're going to go in start at chapter 3. We're going to go into chapter 4, but let's start at verse 11. And this is the chunk of scripture we're looking at is the author is trying to tell us, okay, we're going to look at the Israelites who wandered the wilderness for 40 years and what they did. And look at what God did here. So now God, he swore an oath in his wrath. Okay? Because it's talking about God. So I swear in my wrath, and it was a justifiable, violent, passionate wrath that he's talking about that this is God talking. They shall not enter my rest. Because see, God said to the Israelite, he was so vexed and frustrated with him that he's like, I'm not going to let you enter my rest. I mean, he just got mad. And this is where he's saying, "They shall not enter my rest." Look at the word rest there. It means reposing down or dormant sleep, abode, which is like a home. And uh as you can see what I'm teaching here is the bold words are in the King James version. The words in parentheses are additional meanings of that word in bold. Okay. So as you can see here he swore in his wrath and he's a they're not going to get into a reposing down dormant sleep or abode. Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil which is a hurtful influence heart or thoughts or feelings of unbelief which is faithless faithlessness in departing from the living God. You see, when you're in hardness of heart, which is what these people in the wilderness were, you are in evil. You're you have a hurtful influence on the thoughts and the feelings of those around you because you don't have faith. you're not following the living word of God. You're not living in the living word of God. And these people were doing that. So this writer, the author of Hebrews is telling us, get a hold of yourself. Now let's continue on. 13 But exhort one another daily while it is called today, lest any of you follow the same pattern, be hardened through the deceitfulness, delusion of sin. You see, when the Israelites had wandered around and they were eating heaven, bread from heaven, mana, they got bored with it and they wanted their onions back from when they were in slavery with the Egyptians. Oh, those onions. Oh, I miss those. Oh, if I could only have another, you know, had they had just humbled themselves and took hold of themselves and say, you know, Lord, went to Moses and said, "Hey, Moses, can you go talk to God? I'm thankful we have the mana. I'm grateful for it. Can he add some flavor to it or give us a a difference? Because see, we're in the flesh. We want something different all the time. And God knows that and he will work with you. This is why he said, "Enter your rest." Because you got to deal with your flesh. Which is what Psalms was trying to tell us about our bones not being in good, safe, healthy, prosperity areas because we're not entering into that rest. This is where people get cancer and things of that nature. This is why you'll see a lot of medical offices and systems try to provide a tw tranquil atmosphere for their patients because they're trying to calm them because if they can calm down a bit, it brings the blood pressure down. Right? Verse 14. For we are made partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end. Basically saying we're participants of of Christ and what he did. We need to stay confident in and we have to set ourselves under his support and be stable unto the end. You see that's what entering rest is all about. Stability. How many times you do good, you do good, you do good, you do it for several months in a row and all of a sudden you crash and burn because you got to enter your rest to keep it going to the end. While it is said today, if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts as in the provocation or the irritation of the Israelites to God back in the wilderness. And he's saying today, now today meant, let's say we were here yesterday. Yesterday was today. Tomorrow will be today. So he's saying now, this is the now you have to get a hold of yourself, take heed of yourself and watch out for hardening your heart. And then he says, "For someone they had heard did provoke or exasperate. How be it not all that came out of Egypt by Moses." See, some did. And what's happened is when you get a bad apple, it kind of affects all the other apples in the basket. Well, you had these moaner and groaner and complainers. And then these people who weren't moaning and complaining heard that and oh yeah, okay. and they agree and it becomes fruitful. It multiplies. Well, we have to stop that. We have to take heed of ourselves. If you hear someone complaining, you should be entering the Lord because that's where your rest is. Let's continue on because the author is going to get to that. Says verse 17, "But with whom was he grieved or vexed?" 40 years God whom was he grieved and vexed with? Was it not with him that had sinned or missed the mark? whose carcasses the limb of the body fell in the wilderness. You see, there's a consequence to not entering in his rest, to not following the obedience of God's call. The people of the Israelites in the wilderness did not make it into his rest because God swore they will not enter his rest because they were provoking him to anger. They weren't taking heat of themselves and getting some self-control to say, "Hey, so this is what he's saying." So those people, they died in the wilderness. This is why your bones get sick. This is why you get sick because you didn't take the rest that your body requires. And God used that to just basically tell them, "You're not entering my rest." And he killed them all off. I think it was 21 years and younger entered into the promised land. the rest didn't because of their act of disobedience. Verse 18, and to whom swear or an oath he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believe not. So what he's saying is they there's a promise here. And this is what the author is trying to point out. He's telling them they're the ones that were acting in disobedience and I swore that they cannot have rest. Which means there's a rest for those of us who do obey. Let's look at that. Let's look at that. This is awesome. So, we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. We know that they lacked faith. You know, they you know, it was different because Moses would go speak to them face to face and he they got scared of them. Yes. But then they went and built a golden calf and they went and did this and they went and did that. Wandering for 40 years, moaned and complained and groaned and and vexed the Lord. So now look at what he says about this. We're now in chapter 4 verse one. Let us therefore fear lest a promise being left of us enter into his rest. Any of you should seem to come short, deficient in fear of it. You see, he's saying if you're going to believe you, if you're not going to believe me, you're going to act in disobedience. This is what's going to happen to you. But if you choose to believe, this is a promise for you to enter into his rest today, not tomorrow. But tomorrow will be today, and you will be in that rest if you choose to have faith and believe. How do you have faith when faith is you? A lot of us don't have faith that even measures up to the size of a mustard seed as Jesus pointed out. And these people in the wilderness did not have any faith. They wanted to go back to what they knew. They couldn't see the future that God had for them. And remember, even when Joshua entered into the promised land, they had to go to war and fight the um other cultures that were around and all the other kingdoms that were there. They had to fight them. But God was with Joshua and he used different tactics to beat them all and God showed himself more and more because they had faith. This group of people believed. So the question is, are you going to be the one who's going to die out in the wilderness where your carcass dies, your bones become sin, uh corrupt, full of sin and disease, or are you going to have the belief and the faith that Jesus is the son of God and that you can enter his rest? I mean, I don't know if you're struggling with sleep right now or if you're struggling in your mind where you need to have a peace. I'm going to tell you right now, all of this action of being obedient, entering into his rest gives us the victory for the situations and the circumstances we've been dealing with and praying for and whatever we're facing. Let's go on. Let's go on. I want you to see this. Verse two. For unto us was the gospel preached as well as unto them. But the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. You see, now you're looking at two groups of people, which is what I've been talking about. Ones that don't have faith, they lack belief. They're not believing. And then you have a group that is believing. And all it takes is the moment you choose to be obedient. Okay, God, I don't understand why you're telling me to sit down or why I have to come to you and I can't deal with this situation myself. I can't go deal with our current government and current powers. I can't go deal with that myself. Okay, I'm going to put myself in this situation and I'm going to wait on you in obedience even though I don't want to. God respects that. He does. He wants you to act in that obedience because that act is your act of faith which activates God and he moves on your behalf. Now your bones are safe. You're in good health because those that try to attack, let's say a prominent position that's being ran by evil right now and you try to go take it out, what happens? You end up dying most of the time or they arrest you and you go into jail and you never come out again. That's just how that works. So, this is where now we have to take heed, self-control, and come into believe. And whether you believe or not, you say, "Okay, Lord, I'm going to have to trust you. I don't understand what's going on. I don't know why evil is so prominent right now. I don't know why these these things are taking place for I know that the the gates of hell will not prevail. So, I'm just going to take a step of faith and I'm going to enter your rest and I'm going to pray about it. Or you've got managers at work that are just picking on picking on you. You've got situations in your home where people are aggravating you and and I'm going to go enter my rest with the Lord because I need it. Lord, I come to you. I give this to you. I'm going to sit here. I'm going to put some praise worship music on. I give it to you. It's done. I'm going to leave it alone and I'm going to do something different. I'm going to read scripture. I'm going to do some crochet. I'm going to do knitting. I'm going to bake some bread. I'm going to go work on an engine in a car. But I'm giving it to the Lord first. You see how powerful the presence of rest does for us? For us, for me, the me. This is so important. Oh, and that that takes that's taking faith and belief and mingling the two together. That is our responsibility that we need to do. Now, verse three, for we which have believed do enter into his into rest, as he said, as I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest, although the works toil, acts were finished from the foundation of the world. You see, God entered his rest after he did his works and all the works were done at the end of the sixth day. So if all the works were done, all the evil was already taking place and we know the victory and the outcome of the war, then this is where now we can win the battle because we choose to come into the rest knowing faith, knowing belief we got the victory. Oh hallelujah. Look at Jesus. Look at what God did on the seventh day. This is the author still Hebrews. He's still talking about God on the seventh day. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise and God did rest that seventh day from all his works. Now that word wise there means it's referring to a precedent. Uh it's going to go be it's going to become the rule to follow. So God rested on the seventh day. This is why we have what's called the Sabbath. This is one act of obedience that we can take upon ourselves and have that um that satism that that peace at rest. Now it doesn't mean no work or it doesn't mean sleep or don't walk to your neighbors or things like that. Now I know the Israelites followed it that way but as a believer in Christ a little different for us. It is the act of obedience to say I'm going to settle down. I'm going to calm my soul. you know, because I've been praying in the spirit now um for the prayers I posted up on our website recently and I've been doing it for several weeks in a row and I was kind of getting burned out of it and I was like, Lord, I can't keep doing this. I'm going to treat it kind of like a job and take my weekend off and do it during the week. And then all of a sudden, here comes this message teaching me how about rest. Now you see why I want to teach this to you. Because now I'm finally beginning to understand what it is that God did when he rested on the seventh day. So now I've done my prayers. I did my obedience. And now Lord, I enter your rest. I'm going to sit down. I'm put some praise and worship music on. I'm going to knit. I'm going to crochet. Whatever I'm going to do for that that settles me, that keeps me calm and the things that I like to do. But I'm sitting there and all I'm doing is just I'm not having to do anything I don't want to do. That's the rest our bodies needs. And you know, it's a mind and body thing that your your bones are going to appreciate because you need to heal. They need to heal. This is what I I've been aching and hurting because we've been moving all this kind of stuff and getting settled. And the other day I sat down and I was I was crossstitching and and a couple hours later, you know, as I got up, walked around, I was like, even the next morning I got up and I go, man, I feel a whole lot better. I'm telling you guys, this is very powerful. Very, very powerful. Um, and and so here God rested on the seventh day. Verse five. And in this place again, if they shall enter into my rest, seeing therefore it remainth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached, entered not in because of unbelief. It was first preached to the Israelites, and they didn't enter. They rejected Jesus as the son of God. And as a result, and well, they rejected God and his provision out in the wilderness. What he was trying to do is work on their heart so that he can get them humbled so he can bring them into the promised land. this group of people were so stubborn and hard and necked hardhearted that he couldn't get them out of it. So he says, "Never mind. You're not going to enter the rest I have for you." But he's telling the rest of us who look at that as an example to say, "I do have a rest for you." It's a promise. I love it. I love it. Let's continue on. Verse 9. There remainth therefore a rest. And look at what that word rest means. Type of heaven, sabbaticism. It's a repose, which means a sleep, peace, tranquility, calm of Christianity to the people of God. Meaning, all hell can be breaking loose. And you've entered into God's rest. And you say, "You know what? I've already given it to the Lord. He's taken care of this. I don't have to worry about it." And you have victory just from that alone. That act, that statement, because you are now stating as a fact, which is an act of faith of belief that God already took care of it. I don't have to worry about it. A that's awesome. I hope you guys are grasping this. Verse 10. For he that is entered into his rest, he also has ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest lest any man fall under the same example of unbelief. We got to take heed, have some self-control, put ourselves in that rest. It's something we have to do. God is expecting us to do it because now it becomes an act of obedience. And did you see that he says settle down cease for he that entered into his settle down cease moment we ceased from our works. You know, all these prayers that I've been praying, actually, the moment I enter my rest, it's like the amen and the amen. Let it be done. Okay, Lord, I'm going to enter my rest. I've done my part. It's up to you to do your part. This is now to show you what I'm talking about in that because I want you to see this. Those scriptures preede this. This is now Hebrews 4. We're still in Hebrews 4. We just finished verse 11. Look at what verse 12 is. For the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of sunder of soul and spirit and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the hearts. You see, you're now in a situation. And I'm going to pause. I'm gonna let God handle this because he's going to take care of it better than I would anyways. So every time you're praying and you're giving God the glory, and then you enter into that moment of confidence, boldness, rest, I feel good. God's got it. God's got it. And every time that all hell breaks loose and it's all, you make a better decision when you're in your rest. You know how to decide where to go, what to say, what to do. you are prepped and ready as a believer in Christ. And then what does that do? That establishes your testimony to those running because they're looking at you like, why aren't you all in all up in arms about this management change or this this kind of issue or situation? Or why aren't you more concerned about our loved ones and da da da why aren't you concerned that he's not getting well? And what you're doing is you're saying, "I'm in faith by obeying God because I gave it to him and I'm not going to let it worry me." [Music] That's what this scripture means by the dividing of the soul and the spirit. You know, like I said earlier, when I had laid down and rested and finally got in my rest, I sat down and the next morning I got up and I was like, "Man, my bones feel a lot better. I'm not so achy today." That is the rest of God that he has promised us. The healing that we have the right to have. Oh, hallelujah. Hallelujah. This is how the word of God penetrates our hearts and minds. It's that act of obedience where we step out and say, "God's got it. God's got it. Quick. It's powerful. It's sharper. God's got it. It discerns. Oh, God's got it. Look at verse 16. Let us therefore come boldly into the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. You We got to do this for God's grace and to help those in the time of need. Because how many people are out there that are not in the rest of God? They're not resting in God. Now, Paul talks about this in Romans. Look at Romans 16:20. And the God of peace, look at that word peace here. Prosperity, rest, quietness, shall bruise, crush completely, shatter Satan under your feet shortly. That's in the state of rest. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. Are you catching this? The moment you enter into your obedient rest time and rest period, the grace of peace, the God of peace, your prosperity, your rest, your quietness is going to bruise the devil because every time the devil throws something at you, God's got this. I'm at peace. I've settled my soul down with the Lord. I'm good. Woo. And he says, "Satan, it'll crush completely, shatter Satan." Now, Satan is, it's another word for any evil that comes in your life that comes after you. Bad health, bad finances, and and a lot of these things you're in that situation because you made bad decisions because you didn't enter your rest that you have that God has given you to enter. Oh, and it crushes crush completely shatters Satan under your feet shortly. And that's that state of rest. How long does it take for healing to take place? Sometimes it could take days. Sometimes it could take months. Um I went uh when I was getting out of that diabetes and high cholesterol, that kind of stuff. And I've been healed of all of that. It took several weeks of me praying. I had the elders pray over me, casting the demons out. I did everything I possibly could. It took weeks, but finally when I finally said, "You know what, Lord? I'm going to trust and take this step of faith and I just got rid of all that insulin. I got rid of all that those pills." Do you know that to this day I still have no issues? None whatsoever. You know, and and there are moments that it tries to come back and it's like, "Nah, get lost. I already defeated you, devil." Talk about having some confidence and boldness. This is going to trigger that when you enter your rest. Because what you're doing is you're telling the Lord, "You got this. I'm done trying to handle it myself. And I choose to walk in the quietness, in my rest, because you promised me rest." And that means I know that you and the angels and the Holy Spirit are going forth and doing your thing. Amen. Amen. Amen. Oh, I hope you get this message. I hope you stand on Christ and I hope you apply it to yourself. Oh, let's close the word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word. We thank you for the power and the anointing of your word. And we pray and ask that we apply it to our lives. That we do enter our rest that you promised us. That we live in that rest. that we live in that confidence and the boldness knowing that you and the angels and the Holy Spirit are taking care of whatever's going on around us, Father God. For we do it in the act of obedience. We do it in an act of faith because we believe. We believe that you are the son of God, Jesus. We believe that you redeemed us and pardon us. We believe that you are God. You are holy. We believe in faith that you are our provider, that you are our healer. And so we take the act of faith to believe and co-mingle the two together so that we can enter into the rest and say, "Here you go, Lord. All my problems belong to you because they're not mine anymore in the name of Jesus, the son of the living God. Amen and amen." And God says, "I take it. Enter your rest." Say this prayer out loud: Mighty Heavenly Father, I lift up to Your throne the body of Christ, all of our family members, which includes in-laws and to our fourth cousins that we don’t even know, and I forgive them of their iniquities, the sins they have committed, the curses against them, the curses spoken from them, and the sins of the land they walk on; and I ask You heavenly Father to forgive as them well per Matthew 6:14 KJV “14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:” Demons, loose all of our family members, which includes in-laws and our fourth cousins that we don’t even know, the Lord rebuke you per Jude 1:9 “9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.” I bind you with fetters of iron to the iron below my feet here on earth preventing you from interfering in all of our family members, which includes in-laws and our fourth cousins that we don’t even know ever again per Matthew 16:19 KJV “19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” And per Psalm 149:6-9 KJV “6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; 7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; 8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; 9 To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord.” And Heavenly Father, I bless all of our family members, which includes in-laws and our fourth cousins that we don’t even know with softened hearts to be able to perceive and live by Your Word because even you showed the disciples how hard their hearts were when they didn’t believe when You rose from the dead: Mark 16:14 KJV “14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.” I also bless all of our family members, which includes in-laws and our fourth cousins that we don’t even know with a spirit of reconciliation because that is the ministry You have given us. Let the spirit of God move forth in the hearts of our family members to forgive and reconcile their lives back to Jesus, the Son of God as Paul states in 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 KJV “18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” I pray all of our family members, which includes in-laws and our fourth cousins that we don’t even know are restored into the joy of salvation, and to the paths of righteousness as the following scriptures state: Psalm 23:3 KJV “He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.” Psalm 51:12 KJV “Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.” I pray that the fruit of the spirit stated in Galatians 5:22-23 KJV “22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” manifests within the hearts of all of our family members, which includes in-laws and our fourth cousins that we don’t even know. I pray that the gifts of the holy spirit stated in 1 Corinthians 12:7-12 KJV “7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. 12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.” would unite the body of Christ under one leadership, the Holy Spirit and that the Spirit of God moves through each of us so that we know what to pray, how to pray, when to pray, and praise the living God in all that we do. I take back my family members and atone on their behalf by saying the following: I stand in their shoes and lift their hands and my hands to the Heavenly Father saying, Lord, forgive us our sins, come into our hearts, and be our Lord and Savior as Romans 10:9 KJV says “9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” For I choose to atone and believe on behalf of my family, in-laws, and up to my fourth cousins in the Name of Jesus, the Son of the Living God. And gracious Heavenly Father, we praise You as Psalm 150:1-6 KJV says “150 Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. 2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. 3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. 4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. 5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. 6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. We now walk forward in peace knowing that You and Your angels are moving behind the scenes doing what You need to do to accomplish Your will as Psalm 103:20 KJV says “20 Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.” In the Name of Jesus, the Son of the living God we pray in unity, Amen!PRAY FOR YOUR FAMILY PRAY FOR YOUR FAMILY PRAY FOR YOUR FAMILY Say this prayer out loud: Mighty Heavenly Father, I lift up to Your throne the body of Christ, all of our family members, which includes in-laws and to our fourth cousins that we don’t even know, and I forgive them of their iniquities, the sins they have committed, the curses against them, the curses spoken from them, and the sins of the land they walk on; and I ask You heavenly Father to forgive as them well per Matthew 6:14 KJV “14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:” Demons, loose all of our family members, which includes in-laws and our fourth cousins that we don’t even know, the Lord rebuke you per Jude 1:9 “9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.” I bind you with fetters of iron to the iron below my feet here on earth preventing you from interfering in all of our family members, which includes in-laws and our fourth cousins that we don’t even know ever again per Matthew 16:19 KJV “19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” And per Psalm 149:6-9 KJV “6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; 7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; 8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; 9 To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. • WHERE BELIEF LEADS INTO LIFE | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)

WHERE BELIEF LEADS INTO LIFE To encourage believers to understand that faith in Jesus Christ removes condemnation and brings them into the light of God’s truth. By reflecting on Scripture and the example of the woman caught in adultery, the goal is to help us recognize both our struggles and Christ’s mercy, reminding us that awareness of God’s Word exposes the heart, but also points us to the freedom found in Christ. Ultimately, the objective is to lead us toward choosing the light of Jesus, walking in His Spirit, and relying on Him daily for guidance and transformation. WHERE BELIEF LEADS INTO LIFE Minister Lisa Kane August 19, 2025 Objective: To encourage believers to understand that faith in Jesus Christ removes condemnation and brings them into the light of God’s truth. Synopsis: “Where Belief Leads: Into the Light of Christ” explores the contrast between living in light or darkness as revealed in Scripture. John 3:18–21 teaches that belief in Jesus removes condemnation, while rejecting Him leaves a person already condemned. Romans 8:1 affirms this truth, reminding believers that those in Christ walk free from guilt and shame when they live by the Spirit. The study highlights Jesus’ encounter with the woman caught in adultery (John 8:3–11) as an example of His mercy and light. Instead of condemning, Jesus exposed the hidden darkness in others and offered the woman forgiveness and a new way forward. In the same way, His Word reveals the truth in our own hearts, both in simple trust and in deeper struggles, always pointing us back to His grace. Ultimately, Jesus declares Himself the Light of the world (John 8:12), and belief in Him invites us out of darkness into life, hope, and freedom. The study closes with a prayer of surrender, asking Jesus to help us walk daily in His light. Inspired Teaching - Written and/or Transcribed from Video Above: John 3:18-21 KJV 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. Jesus states that when we believe, we’re not condemned. Is it that simple? We struggle with so many things throughout life as believers, but scripture clearly tells us we’re no longer condemned. Romans 8:1 KJV There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Jesus provided us with an example of this, and he used it as a defense against the enemy. John 8:3-11 KJV 3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, 4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? 6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. 7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. 8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. 9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? 11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. Not one man could condemn her because they had darkness in their hearts. Now, Jesus didn’t expose that darkness, he just made them aware. Sometimes, we need awareness of the Word of God in our lives to help us see the things within our hearts. Simple things like the innocence of believing in the words of Jesus and heavy things that help us realize Jesus is always there with us. He is the light, and we can walk in that light too by choosing to believe in Him. John 8:12 KJV 12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. Here’s a prayer to help us want to choose the light over darkness: Dear Jesus, I’m sorry for messing up. I believe that You are the Son of God and I’m asking for help. I don’t even know what to specifically ask for, but I know that You will help. In Jesus’ Name Amen! Home Previous Next

  • SPIRITUAL WARFARE | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)

< Back SPIRITUAL WARFARE Pastor Marcos Marrero Objective: The objective of Spiritual Warfare by Pastor Marcos Marrero is to define the true essence of spiritual warfare from a biblical perspective, exposing rebellion, idolatry, and false light as its root causes, and to guide believers toward victory through repentance, obedience, and alignment with God’s will and timing. Synopsis: In Spiritual Warfare, Pastor Marcos draws on Jonah’s revelation in Jonah 2:8, where clinging to idols results in forfeiting God’s grace, to unveil the core of spiritual battles. He emphasizes that many believers fail in warfare not because they lack spiritual weapons, but because they simultaneously resist and harbor the very forces they are trying to cast out. Using Jonah’s rebellion as an example, Pastor Marcos highlights that disobedience and stubbornness are akin to witchcraft and idolatry, leading one deeper into darkness until true repentance occurs. He contrasts Jonah’s repentance with King Saul’s unrepentant rebellion, showing that victory in warfare requires acknowledging sin, repenting with thanksgiving, and recognizing that salvation comes only from God. Pastor Marcos stresses that light and darkness are the only two forces at work in the spiritual realm, and that Satan often disguises himself and his ministers as creatures of light. Thus, discerning true light always comes down to obedience to God’s Word. Pastor Marcos further explains that Jonah’s reluctance to preach to Nineveh revealed a heart issue—resenting God’s mercy toward sinners. Spiritual warfare, then, is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual principalities, meaning believers must align their hearts with God’s merciful nature, even toward enemies. Hatred, bitterness, and focusing on the flesh indicate one is still in darkness, while love and mercy reflect the light of God. In application to the modern believer, Pastor Marcos shows that warfare requires discernment of God’s timing—knowing when He calls for mercy or judgment—and separating from those who deny the spiritual reality of warfare, as they represent false light. True victory comes from walking in the light, discerning the unseen spiritual realm, and ridding oneself of the hindrances that obstruct one’s walk with Christ. Ultimately, Pastor Marcos concludes that spiritual warfare is about more than confronting external forces—it is about aligning one’s soul with God’s will, obeying His timing, and receiving the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that believers may live in the fullness of His calling (Ephesians 1:17-18). Written teaching: Jonah 2:8 “Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs.” NIV Who could imagine that one simple verse of Scripture could pack so much truth. If you want a definition that will tell you the nuts and bolts of spiritual warfare, Jonah nailed it right on the head. There once a man that was brought to the altar where a well-known evangelist was praying for the people after a service and the man’s family told the evangelist that the family member they brought before him was troubled by a demon, the evangelist laid his hands on the man’s head and said: In the name of Jesus I command you to leave this man right now, to which the man that was being prayed for responded while pointing at his own head; you stay right there you hear. It was kind of funny when the evangelist told the story many years later; but in reality that is at the root of why so many Christians fail in their battles to conquer their demonic tormentors. All the spiritual warfare tools at your disposal are of no avail if your right hand is telling the enemy to leave, meanwhile your left hand is telling your enemy to stay. Jonah did not just stumble into this revelation by chance, it was revealed to him while dealing with the consequences of his disobedience to God. Jonah 2:2 “...I cried out to the Lord because of my affliction, and He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, and You heard my voice.” Jonah had some issues that he needed to work out, and probably the most pressing of his issues was that he did not see eye to eye what the will of God was for his life. He was called to be a prophet, and when God sent him on an assignment that he personally disagreed with, he decided to go on a different direction. But even in his disobedience there was something that Jonah knew that perhaps many believers today do not know. And that is when they are in open rebellion to the will of God for their lives, in reality what they are actually doing is getting deeper into idolatry and witchcraft. 1 Samuel 15:23 “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you from being king.” The reason that Jonah said that those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs was because that is exactly what he had done; he had rejected the Word of the Lord for him, and just like it cost Saul his kingship it almost cost Jonah his life. The difference between Jonah and Saul was that Jonah understood what his sin of rebellion had caused and he repented, but as far as king Saul was concern even to his bitter end he consulted a witch in his search for God. The king could not tell the difference between light and darkness. Jonah 2:9 “But I will sacrifice to You with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay what I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord.” There are two crucial points that we need to learn if we are going to be successful in spiritual warfare: Number one is repentance. Once our stubbornness and rebellion are exposed, we need to offer the sweet sacrifice of repentance and thanksgiving to the real God, the God that is convicting us by pointing out to us our sin. The second point is that it behooves us to recognize that Salvation can only come from God. Now stay with me, there is something deeper here that we need to understand because this is not as simple as we think it to be. In the spiritual realm there are only two forces at work that war against one another, light and darkness. You may say, well that is easy. Not so, especially when the creatures of darkness can transform themselves into something that they are not, creatures of light. 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.” After reading those three verses we realize that spiritual warfare is not as easy as recognizing the difference between day and night, is it? But here is the key, in the end their work will always be one of rebellion against the Word of God. Once Jonah realized that it was not hard for him to understand that repentance was more than being sorry for his rebellion but that it also required him to become obedient to the call of God; after all obedience is better than sacrifice. Now let us examine how was it that Jonah got into his predicament, in other words, why did he disobey God’s plan for his life to begin with? Jonah 4:1-2 “But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he became angry. So he prayed to the Lord, and said, ‘Ah, Lord, was not this what I said when I was still in my country? Therefore I fled previously to Tarshish; for I know that You are a gracious and merciful God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, One who relents from doing harm.’” Here Jonah really gets into what was really bothering him; God had called him to intercede for some really bad people and was told to go and preach to them that God was about to destroy them for the evil that they were perpetrating. Jonah, knowing that God is a merciful God who is full of compassion, One who relents from doing harm, thought that if he preached and they repented, that God would forgive them, and Jonah did not want that to happen and that is the reason why he fled to begin with. Here is the point that we need to glean and it comes from God’s very own perspective, not Jonah’s; Spiritual Warfare is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers! How can one be in the light of God’s mercy while wishing for the destruction of our fellow humans that walk in the darkness of this age? If God has been a merciful God to me, and He has, does He not want to show mercy also to my enemies who walk in darkness? What if He asks me to pray for those who have really hurt me? I know that He is a merciful God and that if I pray for them, and they repent, that He will forgive them immediately. But is that what I really want in my heart? Do I long for their pardon as much as God does? 1 John 2:9-10 “He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now (still in darkness). He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him (has been set free from idolatry. Zephaniah 1:3).” 1 John 4:20 “If someone says, ‘I love God,’ and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?” So far the two aspects of spiritual warfare that we are discussing have to do with light and darkness. And the question that we pose is, if Satan and his ministers can transform themselves into creatures of light, how can we know whether we are walking in the light of God’s truth or abiding in the darkness of this world without even knowing it? And the answer is clear, if our focus is on the flesh, what transpires through the agency of man, then we are still in darkness. But if our focus is on the unseen, on what is taking place behind the curtains if you will, then we are poised to receive the revelation that comes to those who are abiding in the light of the truth of the Word of God. Let me bring this down to our present-day reality and try to explain why understanding spiritual warfare is so critical for us in the here and now. 1 Timothy 3:1, 5 “But know this, that in the last days (our present time) perilous times will come...having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” Here is what the light of the truth of the Word of God says, from such people that turn away. So that when it comes to spiritual warfare, people are not the cause of the problems that we are facing as it pertains to who our enemies are, but the people that deny the reality of the spiritual problems that we are facing, from them we are to stay away, simply because they represent the false light. You see if there is no hell, that means that there is no spiritual warfare, so that by hanging out with that crowd you are out of the game before it even starts. Jonah 1:9 “So he said to them, ‘I am a Hebrew; and I fear the Lord, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land.’” In chapter one Jonah is totally honest with his fellow shipmates about his circumstance and even tells them that they have to throw him overboard if they want to save their own lives. In the verse above he makes a bold declaration of who he is and of what he believes, it makes me wonder why was Jonah really fleeing from the will of God to begin with? Isaiah 36:20 “Who among all the gods of these lands have delivered their countries from my hand, that the Lord should deliver Jerusalem from my hand?” The king of Assyria was coming against Jerusalem one day, and he was bragging about his previous conquests and ended up insulting the Lord of Hosts. The king of Israel took those insulting words before the Lord and God sent an angel against the Assyrian camp and killed one hundred and eighty five thousand from his army in one night. The Assyrian king went back to Nineveh the capitol of Assyria where he was later killed. So that there was no love lost between these two people. So that the key for understanding spiritual warfare has to do with God’s timing. There is a time for war and there is a time for peace. Hanging around those who have already made up their minds before listening to the counsel of God in any given matter is a hindrance to those whose call is to battle against the forces of darkness that abide in the spiritual realm. Here are a few things that we should know about spiritual warfare: What is under God’s covering mercy today maybe under the wheels of God’s wrath tomorrow. That which is expected of us today may not be what is expected of us tomorrow. A life boat is only good when a ship is sinking, the rest of the time is an eye sore that occupies space. Real light will always expose the works of darkness. Knowing when it is God’s time for wrath or for mercy will insure that we do what is expected of us today, even if it is totally different than that which was expected from us yesterday. Knowing when a ministry ship is sinking or stuck on a sandbar will lead us inevitably to the life boat that will preserve us from spiritual harm. That is what walking in the light means, not stumbling over the works of darkness. If the essence of spiritual warfare is for me to rid myself of the things that hinder my walk with Jesus, so that I can fulfill His calling for my life, then knowing my position within His timing for my life is critical, especially if I am to know when I am ready from His perspective to either move, stay, or to advance into a previously unknown position that He wants me to occupy. Ephesians 1:17-18 “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.” Previous Next

  • WHY DOES SATAN WANT YOU SO MUCH? | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)

< Back WHY DOES SATAN WANT YOU SO MUCH? Minister Lisa Kane 1900-01-01 Objective: The objective of this teaching is to help believers understand the true reason why Satan desires to attack and deceive humanity. By examining the creation story, the fall of man, and God’s redemptive plan through Christ, the lesson reveals that Satan’s hatred is not directed at us personally, but rather at God’s love for us. It encourages believers to stay rooted in relationship with God, knowing that through Jesus Christ they have victory over sin, death, and the enemy’s schemes. Synopsis: Why Does Satan Want You So Much? explores the deep spiritual battle that began in the Garden of Eden. Adam, created in God’s image, enjoyed intimate fellowship with his Creator—a relationship Satan envied. As Ezekiel 28 reveals, Satan was present in Eden, watching with jealousy as God spent time with man instead of with him, a being clothed in beauty and splendor. Out of hatred for God and envy of His love toward mankind, Satan set out to prove humanity unworthy, deceiving Eve and drawing Adam into sin. Yet, the message shows that Satan’s true motive is not love or concern for us, but hatred for God. Every time he succeeds in hurting people, he believes he is wounding God’s heart. Still, God’s plan of salvation through Jesus Christ triumphs over Satan’s schemes. By sending His Son to die and rise again, God provided eternal life for all who believe (John 3:16, Romans 10:9–10). The teaching closes with a call to relationship: just as God walked with Adam, He desires to walk with us today. By confessing Jesus as Lord, studying His Word, and remaining in fellowship with Him, believers can stand strong against the enemy, assured that where God’s presence dwells, Satan has no place. Written teaching: Have you ever asked yourself why does Satan want me? It’s an interesting question and opens up the Bible by bringing a more complete understanding of the entire picture, and it goes back to the very beginning in the Garden of Eden. Genesis 2:8 New King James Version (NJKV) 8 The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. Genesis 2:15-20 (NJVK) 15 Then the Lord God took [d]the man and put him in the garden of Eden to [e]tend and keep it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you[f] shall surely die.” 18 And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” 19 Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to [g]Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. The above scriptures show us that Adam was in the Garden of Eden without Eve for some amount of time. We don’t know how much time because the Bible doesn't tell us, but we can guess that at least several months to maybe a handful of years went by where there was no Eve. How do I know this? How many animals, beasts, and birds did God create that Adam named and how long do you think it took Adam to name them all? Imagine this, let’s say God brought in a male and female animal that were gray, big, and heavy with trunks on them and Adam says I will call these elephants. What-if God asked Adam why? And what-if Adam asked God why a skinny tail versus a bigger tail to match its girth? You see God and Adam were talking or having a relationship. They were spending time with one another. God interacted with the image He made of Himself. Genesis 1:26a (NKJV) 26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; We were made extremely different then any other creature God had already made. We don’t look like the angels and to top it all off, God was spending time with Adam, not the other angels. Which begs the question, who was in the Garden of Eden watching? Ezekiel 28:13 (NKJV) 13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes Was prepared for you on the day you were created. Satan was in the garden of Eden and he was watching everything going on. He was perplexed and confused to say the least. He couldn’t figure out how could God spend so much time with such an inferior creature? When comparing man against his beauty, there was no comparison. He was made with every precious stone and was so beautiful, yet God wasn’t spending time with him…no he was spending time with Adam. When Satan saw that God placed a female in the Garden and left to give Adam and Eve a ‘honeymoon’, Satan wanted to show God how inferior this creature was. In fact, he wanted to make it such a point to rub it in His face…and was probably thinking that he could do a better job in creating creatures. And that is why Satan wanted us. And he continues to want us to this day because every time he wins, he's hurting God. Satan doesn't care about who you are or what you do but he does care that God loves you so much that he'll do everything in his power to hurt you because he knows it will hurt God. To put it simply, Satan hates God and everything God loves, Satan hates. God showed His love by spending time with Adam. Love is action and God is action. I bet Satan thought he was right when he deceived Eve and Adam. Genesis 3:1-6 (NKJV) 3 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” 2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ” 4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was [a]pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves [b]coverings. But God. He had a bigger plan all along. John 3:16-17 (NKJV) 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. We’re made in His image and He loves us. He paid a large price, the death of His Son on the cross, to get us back from the curse of sin when Adam and Eve disobeyed God because of Satan's hatred toward Him. Romans 6:23 (NKJV) 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the [a]gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. After Adam and Eve sinned, they began aging and eventually died. But Jesus broke death by rising from the dead. Matthew 28:6a (NKJV) 6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Hallelujah! Now you and I can rise from certain death by believing and Satan may want to hurt us to hurt God but he can't hurt us anymore. God made a way for us to be saved! Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV) 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. And all it takes is talking to God. It began as a relationship with God and Adam, and it will end in a relationship with God and me (you). Say this out loud: Dear Jesus, thank You for dying on the cross. Forgive me of my sins and come into my life. Be my Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ Name Amen! Praise the Lord! You are now saved through Jesus Christ and don’t let anyone or anything tell you otherwise. Protect yourself by staying in that relationship with God because where God is, Satan isn’t. How do you stay in a relationship with God? Read His Word! It will be your foundation and get you through life. You can find free access to the Bible at: https://www.biblegateway.com/ Previous Next

  • THE POWER OF THE TONGUE | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)

< Back THE POWER OF THE TONGUE Minister Lisa Kane Objective: The objective of this teaching is to help believers recognize and apply the spiritual authority of their words. By aligning their speech with God’s Word, Christians can overcome negative influences such as depression, sickness, and fear, and instead walk in victory, joy, and confidence as more than conquerors through Christ. Synopsis: The Power of the Tongue by Lisa Kane is a personal testimony and biblical teaching based on Proverbs 18:21: “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Drawing from her own battle with depression, Lisa shares how she overcame through prayer and by boldly speaking against the spirit of depression. She recounts how declaring God’s truth aloud—commanding depression to leave and asking God for strength—brought freedom, joy, and lasting change in her life. The message emphasizes the power of words in shaping one’s reality, urging readers to consider what they are telling themselves daily. Negative confessions such as “I’m sick” or “I’m tired” reinforce defeat, while positive declarations rooted in God’s Word cultivate faith, healing, and strength. Lisa encourages believers to boldly use their tongue as a spiritual weapon, reminding them of Romans 8:37—“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” This teaching calls Christians to rise up in faith, reject destructive self-talk, and speak life-giving words that align with God’s promises, knowing that through Christ they are equipped to overcome every challenge. Written teaching: Proverbs 18:21 New King James Version (NKJV) 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. I used to battle depression many years ago, but I overcame it by using the power of the tongue. This is what I did: First, it took me a few weeks to figure out what was wrong with me because I didn’t know. All I knew is that I was mean to everyone around me and I didn’t want to do anything. It was so out of character for me that I began asking God what was wrong with me. Then it hit me. God showed me that I was dealing with a spirit of depression. Once I knew what was wrong, I told my husband I was going to spend time in prayer and went to my bedroom. And this is what I said out loud, “Depression, you’re not welcomed here. Go away and leave me alone.” And then I asked God to forgive me and to help me overcome this spirit. I kept praying and telling depression to get lost for several hours. I eventually went to bed that way. I kept up the words in my mind, but I laid down and finally fell asleep. The next morning, I woke up extremely achy, but I had a smile on my face. I realized that was the best I had felt in a while. Depression was gone and I began walking in joy from that day on. Every once a while depression would try to sneak up on me but guess what, I would remind it that it wasn’t welcomed as part of my life and it would go away. This tactic wasn’t something I read or heard about. It was just something I did as I was praying to God. However, Proverbs 18:21 is so true. The power of the tongue is mighty, and you need to ask yourself, ‘what am I telling myself daily’? Are you telling yourself you’re sick? Are you telling yourself you're tired? Are you telling yourself you’re poor? Are you telling yourself you’re in pain? If I were you, I suggest telling yourself what a great person you are in the Lord and begin acting on it. The sick, tired, poor, and pain will line up according to your words. And if you’re really dealing with some serious spirits, go spend time in God’s presence in your home and tell them to get lost. You have a mighty tongue and are more than a conqueror. Romans 8:37 New King James Version (NKJV) 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Previous Next
