  • DOCTRINES OF MEN | HoFM

House of Faith Ministries (HoFM) presents a teaching on Colossians 2:21-23 “Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle, which all concern things which perish with the using—according to the commandments and doctrines Top of Page DOCTRINES OF MEN Colossians 2:21-23 “Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle, which all concern things which perish with the using—according to the commandments and doctrines of men? These things indeed have an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed religion, false humility, and neglect of the body, but are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh” The goal of faith in us believers, is to rid our souls of those things that keep us from walking in the freedom of the Spirit of God that dwells in us who are saved, now remember that the word for salvation can also be translated deliverance in the New Testament. 1 Peter 1:9 “Receiving the end (goal) of your faith—the salvation of (deliverance = to get rid of the things that hinder) your souls.” One of the most powerful tools that the enemy uses to keep humans in bondage is religious traditions that emanate from men made doctrines. 2 Corinthians 3:17 “Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” So that many believers wrongly think that by abiding in religious traditions that stifle the soul and kept it from walking in God’s freedom, that they are doing the will of God, because that is what they have been taught by the doctrines of men. But this is what our Lord says: Galatians 5:1 “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” NIV Think back to when we first got saved and how many times our actions were governed by rules that in many cases had nothing to do with biblical principles, but that we somehow thought that by following those rules, that we were doing the right thing in God’s eyes, only to find out later that many of those rules were not even based on the Bible, while others were a clear misrepresentation of true Christian doctrine. As our opening text revealed to us they all had to do with, Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle. In our struggle with doing the right thing, we must honestly ask ourselves this question: What is the right thing that we are to do? May I be bold enough and tell you what the right thing to do is: If we want to be right, we should always do the spiritual thing! Colossians 3:1 “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.” If you look at the Scriptures that deals with the freedom that we enjoy in the grace of God, you will find warnings attached to many of them, compelling us not to abuse our freedom in Christ for selfish desires. 1 Peter 2:16 “As free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice (wickedness), but as bondservants of God.” If we do the spiritual thing, defined as seeking those things which are above, then our own self-interests will not be involved, for then our actions will be governed by the desires of Christ who sits at the right hand of God, and the motives behind our actions will always be pure. And we need to keep in mind that doing the spiritual thing will always be in conflict with men made doctrines. Why is that? 1 Timothy 4:1 “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons.” Men made doctrines are the doctrines of demons, for they all cater to men’s own selfish desires, and not the desires of Christ for men. Christ’s desire for men is that we walk in the liberty of His Spirit, free from guilt, shame, and condemnation. Demonic doctrines have as their goal to keep men under the bondage of sin, bound by the chains of fear, and under the heavy load of guilt, shame, and condemnation. How do these men made doctrines affect the churches of today of which we are a part of? Colossians 2:1 “For I want you to know what a great conflict (struggle) I have for you and those in Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh.” Why did Paul struggle so much with the faith of the Colossian and Laodicea churches? I believe that he feared that their men made traditions would keep them from realizing their full potential in Christ Jesus. Colossians 2:2 “That their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ.” What kind of men made doctrines were there among them that caused the apostle Paul so much consternation? Revelation 3:14-16 “And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: I know your works, that your are neither cold not hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.’” Many years after Paul died we see his fears confirmed in the Lord’s rebuke against the Laodicea church of John’s day, which tragically is the same condition that afflicts many of the churches of today, many of these churches will be left behind when the rapture takes place. Why did the Lord vomit them out? Revelation 3:17 “Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.” The goal of men made doctrines is to remove men’s need of God and to replace it with the religious traditions that satisfies men’s selfish needs. The Laodicea church was so deceived that they came to the point where they believed that they had no need of God, for they believed that they had their own religious traditions to prop them up. It cannot get any more demonic than that, for it was Lucifer himself who said in his heart that he would exalt his throne above the stars of God, and that he would be like the Most High, and then he was promptly cast down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the pit. Isaiah 14:12-15 But the greatest damage that men made doctrines perpetrate against the churches, besides blinding them to their true spiritual condition, is that it keeps them from receiving the revelation of God’s many hidden treasures of wisdom and knowledge. That is why so many believers today have problems understanding the Word of God when they read it. Colossians 2:3 “(Both of the Father and of Christ) In whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Since the doctrines of men are the doctrines of demons, and since the desire of demons is to be worshiped through the idols that they represent, then, those who follow men made doctrines practice idolatry, that is they become one with the idols that they worship, or pay homage to at their appointed feasts. Psalm 135:15-18 “The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. They have mouths, but they do not speak; eyes they have, but they do not see; they have ears, but they do not hear; nor is there any breath in their mouths. Those who make them are like them; so is everyone who trust in them.” How can Christians do the spiritual thing if their spiritual eyes cannot see and their spiritual ears cannot hear? In His rebuke to the Laodicea church, Jesus told them that they were blind and then counseled them to buy from Him gold refined in the fire. It is clear that the sin of the Laodicea church is the sin of idolatry, and it is what causes them to become poor, blind and naked like the very idols that they worshiped. Since the Laodicea church is prophesied to be present at the end of the church age along with the faithful Philadelphia church, and since we know that we are living in the last days of the church age, then it begs the question: Which church are we a part of? Is it possible for a believer to be a part of the Laodicea church and not know it? Colossians 2:8 “Beware lest anyone cheat (plunder you or take you captive) you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.” When Paul speaks about, according to the tradition of men, he is not referring to the traditions of unbelievers outside of the church, but to the traditions that have been introduced into the church, in many instances by so called believers masquerading as teachers of the truth, when in reality they were introducing the very basic principles of the world’s paganism into the church of Jesus Christ, unbeknown to many. And by doing so corrupting many within the church with the idolatry that brings about the spiritual blindness that is so prevalent among the churches of today. And that is what Paul was so fervently fighting against when he wrote to the Colossian church this epistle. 2 Corinthians 13:5 “Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified (do not stand the test).” The greatest protection that we have against deception is that the Spirit of the Living God dwells within us, and it is the Holy Spirit who testifies about Jesus in us, the real Jesus, so let us not resist the Holy Spirit’s prompting when He warns us about so called Christian traditions that have no foundation whatsoever in the Word of God. For if you resolve in your heart that you are going to stay true to His Word, no matter how much resistance comes your way from the worldly bunch that seeks harmony with this world. Then the Lord will begin to open your spiritual eyes, and make your ears attentive to His Word, so that the treasures of His great wisdom and knowledge, which He has made available for you, will become more real to you than anything that you have ever known. Colossians 1:27 “To them (you) God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” More Teachings Found Here: Deliverance Ministr y End Times Teachings Other Teachings

  • THE LORD’S REFINING FIRE | HoFM

House of Faith Ministries (HoFM) teaches that God, who is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance, He is always at work in whatever circumstance history finds men, to save them from their debt of sin. Top of Page END TIMES TEACHING THE LORD’S REFINING FIRE Jeremiah 9:7 “...Behold, I will refine them and try them…” One of the most misunderstood subjects for both secular and Christian people, revolves around the events that precede the return of our Lord Jesus to set up His kingdom age upon the earth and over its inhabitants. From our perspective we see our Lord returning to the earth to punish all the evil doers for all the evil that they perpetrate, and then we ask ourselves, why now? I mean, the evil doers basically never left, they were here back then, and they are still here now, and they have never stopped doing their evil deeds. So, in a way we ask ourselves what is it that changes? So that we need to understand how God’s timing works. Genesis 15:16 “But in the fourth generation they shall return here, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete.” We need to understand that God sees sin, which includes iniquity and transgression, as a debt, we also need to comprehend that judgment, which is inflicting punishment upon the debtors, cannot be executed until the agency that is in charge of collecting the payment for the debt, has exhausted all its allotted time for collecting the debt. Then and only then, can the judgment, repossession of the property that is indebted, is allowed to take place. In the case of us humans, we are all indebted to God with a debt of sin that not a single one of us could ever repay. Our personal time for repaying our own debt of sin runs out when we die, as it is written: It is appointed unto men once to die and then comes the judgment. John 5:24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” Notice how a believer, one who heard the Gospel, hears My word, and believes on Jesus as his/her savior, even though alive at present, God considers such a person already dead and judged, his/her personal debt of sin is marked paid in full by the work of redemption that Jesus accomplished after He died on the cross, and when that person dies, they just go straight into the presence of the Lord, as it is written: John 11:26 “And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” Every person has been allotted a lifetime, most of us do not know how much time we have before we die, to deal with our sin debt problem, regardless of how much time the world has left before it is judged for its debt of sin to God. If we have not personally dealt with our sin debt when the time comes for the world to be judged, then we will be judged when the world is judged along with the rest of mankind, if we have already accepted Jesus as our personal savior, then we are spared the judgment, for we have already been judged in Jesus, and we will be removed from this world before it is judged, no matter how much lifetime we had left. Revelation 3:10 “Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test (try, refine) those who dwell on the earth.” When Jesus was born the angels proclaimed: Peace on earth, and good will toward men. God introduced into the world a grace period that would allow the earth to deal with its sin debt before the final judgment of God is executed upon the earth. We have been living under that grace period for the last two thousand years, the good news has to be preached, and has been preached, to all the world and its inhabitants before the final judgment comes, but there is a time limit. How will we know that we are approaching the limit? Jeremiah 9:6 “Your dwelling place is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know Me, says the Lord.” The time of refining comes after the inhabitants of the earth willingly refuse to acknowledge the pardon freely offered to them by God. 2 Peter 3:5 “For this they willfully forget…(willingly ignorant)” We are clearly living in the days when both of the above prophecies are being fulfilled. Science has reached the point where the theory of evolution is untenable, there is clearly no monkey DNA in any of us, everything screams out the truth of an intelligent Creator behind the creation. Yet, through deceit they refuse to know Me, the Lord told us, and that is exactly what is going on today. Now from the Lord’s perspective we see a refining that is taking, and has taken place, all over the earth through different epochs of time. There were, and there are times, when God deals with men’s debt problem through the spectrum of innocence, at other times through their conscience, but always through the prism of His promised redemption in His covenant of law and grace with Abraham, the man of faith who found favor and fellowship with God. But God who is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance, He is always at work in whatever circumstance history finds men, to save them from their debt of sin. Once the present grace period runs out, it will be collection time, and since it is appointed unto men once to die and then comes the judgment, collection time will mean the death of billions of earthlings. Revelation 9:15 “So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind.” A third of mankind are killed, and that is just during the beginning of the first half of the seven years of God’s wrath upon the earth. By the time you get to the end there are not many humans left on the earth. Now these seven years are like a refining fire poured upon the earth to redeem the souls of the sinful men who refused the grace period they were given. These judgments are brought upon them because they willingly refused to know God at first, and before they die God gives them another chance to repent now that their deceit has been exposed and they no longer have any excuse to ignore God. Basically, they will be told, you are all going to die, who will you die for, the devil or God? Who will you give your soul to? Now isn’t it a lot easier to live for Him now during the age of His grace? Or will you continue to deceive yourself? Jeremiah 8:20 “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved!” We are not saved; will this be your epithet? If you think it is hard to be saved right now, do you think that you will have what it takes to be saved when your salvation will have to be proven by your death as a martyr? Jeremiah 9:12 “Who is the wise man who may understand this? And who is he to whom the mouth of the Lord has spoken, that he may declare it? Why does the land perish and burn up like a wilderness, so that no one can pass through?” There is nothing here in this world worth missing heaven for! We are being prepared for a new reality, an eternal physical reality that consists of peace and harmony, where obedience to God’s righteous laws is inscribed within the soul of every newly recreated man. Never again will we struggle with righteousness, doing what is right will be such a delight. But we have to pass the test of faith here first, where there is opposition, for if we dare to believe in the face of opposition and reproach, in all the wonderful promises of God for those who love Him, them He will not hesitate to invest in us freely the reward of eternal perfect life. I do not belong to this world, I’m of the generation that will fly without wings, I will soar through the galaxies, I will explore the wonders of the universe while glorifying the Creator that enables me to marbled at all His wonders, will you come and join me? • THE POWER OF AN INDESTRUCTIBLE LIFE | HoFM

House of Faith Ministries (HoFM) presents a teaching on Hebrews 7:16 “One who has become a priest not on the basis of a regulation as to his ancestry but on the basis of the power of an indestructible life.” NIV Top of Page THE POWER OF AN INDESTRUCTIBLE LIFE Hebrews 7:16 “One who has become a priest not on the basis of a regulation as to his ancestry but on the basis of the power of an indestructible life.” NIV What makes Christianity different from all other world religions, for true Christianity is not a religion at all, but a way of life; is that its foundation rests on the predicate of the power of a human life that is indestructible. Many religions peddle immortality, even secular humanism applauds the immortality that a commendable legacy, according to their standards, leaves for posterity. But the reality is that once you die, you are dead. Let’s face it, if a person dies and ends up in hell, once there, its not going to matter much to the person that died what people thought about them or what their legacy to humanity really was. If any thing, they will be more worried about those who are following in the footsteps of their legacy, for after all it was their wrong belief that got them to hell to begin with, especially if those loved ones they leave behind are following in the footsteps of what they themselves believed. At the core of true Christianity is that it offers a personal and blissfully eternal human existence to those who are converted, in a new and physically recreated heaven and earth. True Christianity offers the promise of a brand new physically eternal body into which the delivered soul of an individual will reside eternally. A delivered soul is one who had to appear before the judgment seat of Christ after departing the physical body that died. As it is written: Absent from the body, present with the Lord. When a soul appears before the judgment seat of Christ it undergoes a fire of purification, this is the place where all the information that the soul gathered after being saved, while still in the physical body, is judged. 2 Corinthians 5:10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” The judgment seat of Christ is for believers only, the soul of the unbelievers who die go to Hades, and there await the final judgment that takes place during the final resurrection. The believers who die, go to heaven in soul form, and do not get their physically resurrected bodies until after the first resurrection takes place. 1 Corinthians 3:11-15 “For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day (of the judgment seat of Christ) will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it (the foundation of Christ’s salvation when it was laid in the born-again person’s heart) endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.” That means that after appearing at the judgment seat of Christ, the saved soul receives a non-physical body to be clothed with while it awaits to be furthered clothed with the physically resurrected body that it has been promised. 2 Corinthians 5:1-4 “For we know that if our earthly house (our physical bodies), this tent, is destroyed (dies), we have a building from God, a house (a spiritual body) not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, if indeed, having being clothed, we (our souls after leaving the dead physical bodies) shall not be found naked. For we who are in this tent (physical body) groan (dislike our mortal physical bodies), being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed (die and become spiritual creatures), but further clothed (receive our physically resurrected bodies), that mortality may be swallowed up by life.” All of that to say that the Bible clearly teaches that our physical human bodies were originally designed to be eternal. What that means is that in spite of the fact that when we humans die in our present day, and our dead physical bodies dissolve back into the dust that they came from, someday they will all be raised from the dust and will be reunited with their departed souls, and live together for eternity. The Scriptures that we’ve read told of the future that awaits those who have died, or will die in the faith, but what about those who after they die, end up in hell or Hades? What is their fate? Revelation 20:11-15 “Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.” The lake of fire is the place where the eternally resurrected physical bodies of the dammed are sent to spend eternity after they are reunited with their dammed souls. The false prophet and the antichrist who rise up to oppose the Two Witnesses during the tribulation period, are both captured alive physically, and sent to the lake of fire one thousand years before anyone, that is because their eternally dammed physical bodies are brought up from the pit, where they were originally sent physically alive after they rebelled against Moses during Korah’s rebellion. Numbers 16:28-33 You can read the details of these events in my book Man’s Final Destiny , in the books section of the houseoffaithminsitries.org, in the chapter titled the identity of the antichrist. In verse ten we read that the devil is cast into the lake of fire with all those whom he deceived to be: Tormented day and night forever and ever. Eternal physical damnation is the fate of those who are lost. Paul tells us that for those of us who believe, mortality will be swallowed up by life. Since Jesus came to give us life and life in abundance, we know that it will be a blissfully eternal life. In our opening text we are told that Jesus is our High Priest on the basis of an indestructible human life. Let’s take a look at it from a scientific point of view. What is the human soul? For those of you who are old like me, you may remember the old cassette recorders. They consisted of three main parts, the battery, the tape that stored the information, and the cassette player itself with the different buttons that you pushed. You pressed the record button, spoke into the built-in microphone and recorded a message, you then pressed the re-wind button and played back what you recorded. The human soul is like the tape that records everything that the human body experiences, the recorder represents the human physical body with all its senses that will eventually grow old and break down to be discarded as soon as the energy, or power source runs out, which represents the human spirit leaving the body when it dies. All the information however, remains recorded in the tape which is ejected from the player to be salvaged, which represents the human soul leaving the body after it dies. In today’s technology you would just download the information from the tape into your computer, where you can edit the information and format it to be played or viewed through a new player. When an unbeliever dies, his soul, or data, is unredeemable, for it is corrupted and cannot be downloaded, so it will not appear at the judgment seat of Christ to be edited and formatted. Instead it is placed on a file called Hades, awaiting the final resurrection of the physical body from whence it came, at which time it will be reunited with it and discarded into the lake of fire for ever, which is like a containment place for all malicious viruses and malware. When a believer dies, his soul, or data, has to be redeemed from the corruption from whence it came, so it goes first through a refining fire, where every selfish act, or virus, has to be removed before it can be uploaded into the heavenly mainframe. In this editing, only those actions that were produced in the born-again believer’s heart by the prompting of the Holy Spirit, and emanated as spiritual fruit, are accepted, everything else is discarded. For spiritual fruit always leads the believers into walking in self-control, which is the opposite of the destructive ways of selfish ambitions. Once the redeemed human soul is refined in the fire of the judgment seat of Christ, it is placed in a house not made with human hands, a spiritual folder as its covering, if you will. While there, it is able to interact will all of the other souls that are awaiting the resurrection of their soon to come, eternally incorruptible physical new bodies. We know from science that one of the main laws of physics that govern the universe states that no information is ever lost, no matter how scrambled the physical matter that produced it becomes. We also know from Scripture that all physical matter, which in now under the entropic law of decay, will have to go through the fire of purification, before the new heavens and the new earth that are introduced into a perfect and new physical creation is reunited with its future inhabitants. 2 Peter 3:12-13 “Looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat (refining fire)? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness (no decay) dwells.” What do you think was God’s purpose when He originally created the heavens and the earth? We can safely assume that the purpose why God created the heavens and the earth was to introduce something new that He did not have before the creation. We can also safely assume, from what Scripture reveals, that before physical man was created, there was no physical realm for any physical men to dwell in. Hebrews 10:5 “Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: ‘Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but a body You have prepared for Me.’” Not just a body, but an indestructible body that secures the foundation of the entire creation of the heavens and the earth, that which is visible as well as that which is invisible, since the creation itself consists of both, to something that has always existed. 2 Corinthians 4:18 “...For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” Everything in the universe is made of atomic particles, except for energy, yet without energy itself there cannot be any atomic particles, as Einstein figured out, that all matter was made by energy. Where did the energy that made all the atomic particles that comprise the entire visible and invisible creation come from? John 1:1-3 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He (the Word) was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him (the Word), and without Him (the Word) nothing was made that was made.” What is the substance of the Word of God? Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is living (means life creating, life sustaining) and powerful (means energy), and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner (the refining fire or energy that restores the soul and recreates the physical bodies that died, to their original settings) of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Every single atom that comprises everything in the creation came directly from the Word of God, and answers directly to Him. If Jesus speaks to the mountain and tells it to be removed into the sea, every single atomic particle that gives body to that mountain would just instantly float directly into the sea. But here is what’s really important: John 1:14 “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” The human physical body that The Word of God came to indwell offered Himself as a sacrifice on God’s altar, the cross, on behalf of all the rest of the humanity that He created, His shed blood was taken by the Holy Spirit and sprinkled on the mercy seat of the heavenly Holy of Holies, after three days and three nights, the physical dead body of Jesus was infused with the energy contained in the Word of Promise, for it was written that He would not let the body His Holy One see decay, and He rose triumphantly full of that indestructible life that holds the universe together. May His name be forever bless, I bless You sweet Jesus! Psalm 16:10 “For you will not leave my soul in Sheol, nor will You allow Your Holy One to see (undergo decay) corruption.” How do we become partakers of this amazing life-giving energy? The same promises of God apply to all of us who are willing to believe them. Romans 8:11 “But if the same Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” More teachings found here: Deliverance Ministry End Times Teachings Other Teachings

  • THE EFFECTIVE WORKING WORD | HoFM

House of Faith Ministries (HoFM) presents a teaching on 1 Thessalonians 2:13 “For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, Top of Page THE EFFECTIVE WORKING WORD 1 Thessalonians 2:13 “For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.” The Word of God has many functions, it created everything, sustains everything. But in a more personal level, the Word of God effectively works deliverance in those who believe in it. What is deliverance? Deliverance has to do with freedom. Since sin enslaves men, deliverance from sin is the act of being made free. John 8:32 “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free .” Since the Word of God is the embodiment of all Truth, those who believe in the truth of the Word of God are delivered from all their sins. Deliverance from sin follows three stages; we are immediately delivered, we are continuously being delivered, and we will be delivered. The reason the work of deliverance follows three stages is because we are being delivered completely, spirit, soul, and body. Let’s take a look at the spiritual aspect first. Our spirit can never die, for the spirit that gives us life originated from God, and like God it is eternal. In our mortal human nature we are considered dead in trespasses and sin, but death when referring to the spirit speaks of separation from God. When a person dies in their sins their spirit becomes separated from God for ever, that is what is called eternal damnation. When a person becomes born again, or born of the Spirit, their spirit is immediately regenerated and will never again be separated from God. Our spirit is delivered instantly the minute that we accept the Word of Truth. When we die, instantly our spirit would rise up to God because of His salvation. 2 Corinthians 5:8 “We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.” The only thing that our spirit needs after we become born again is to feed in the truth of the Word of God. For a weak spirit, one who is not being nourished by the Word of God, is not strong enough to influence our souls to turn its back on its sinful ways. We need to realize that our spirits are either dead, that is separated from God, or alive in Christ through the born-again experience, there is no in between for the spirit man within each person. Not so for our souls, for they are always going back and forth depending on which spirit is driving them. When our spirit is inspired by the Word of God it motivates us to do good works. When we neglect spiritual nourishment, our soul is moved by the sensuality of this world, through the spirits of the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, to do sinful things. That is why Paul is commending the Thessalonians for receiving the Word of God and is telling them this: Which also effectively works in you who believe. By using the words 'effectively works in you', Paul indicates that the deliverance of our souls is always a work in progress. Galatians 5:24-25 “And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” If we are born again, we live in the Spirit of God who made our spirit alive in Christ. So, why not also walk after the Spirit of Truth that can also deliver our souls from the deadness of this world system? Our physical bodies will not be delivered until the day when the resurrection of the dead takes place. Even if we are born again, our bodies will continue to decline and decay with the passing of time, for the Word of God declares that: Hebrews 9:27 “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.” So, that in our everyday lives, the ministry of deliverance is the process of working out of our souls its dependency to the desires of the flesh. That is why the crucifixion metaphor is used, those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since crucifixion implies a slow painful death, that is what the separation from the desires of this world entails, a slow painful death. Matthew 26:38 “Then He said to them, ‘My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.’” The hardest thing for us humans to accomplish is the death of self. Our self life is who we are and how we see ourselves. But when how we see ourselves and who we are does not align with the Word of God, there is no other choice, our soul has to die to self or lose its reward. The effective working Word of God is the only power that can bring about such transformation in us. This is what Paul told the Thessalonians, 'When you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God'. We cannot die to our self-life until we realize that our lives are not our own, for they belong to God. Reason dictates that if we belong to God, our lives should be modeled after the Word of God. As we welcome the dictates of the Word of God for what our lives should be, that is we receive them as if directly from the mouth of God, that’s when the effectively works part sets everything in motion within us. 1 Thessalonians 2:14 “For you, brethren, became imitators of the churches of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus. For you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, just as they did from the Judeans.” Immediately the world around them began to persecute them, just as the churches that they had modeled themselves after were persecuted. The world will always persecute those who desire to fulfill the Word of God in their lives. Now why is that? Very simple, those whose desire is for the Word of God, which is Truth, cannot be lead stray by the deception of this world system. If you don’t move with the flow of the world you become an impediment to the flow of the world. John 15:18-19 “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” Hatred from the world means that the Word of God is effectively working in us the transformation that God wants to accomplish in us who believe. 2 Thessalonians 2:13 “But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation (deliverance) through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth.” Notice how the process begins with salvation, then sanctification by the Spirit, and all comes together by belief in the truth. Would you agree that the world is waging war against the Word of God? Here in the United States if a student takes his Bible into a public school building it would cause so much trauma to the local ACLU chapter that you would think that the end of the world had arrived. Just a lonely cross standing on a faraway hill causes enough distress to those who are under the influence of this world system, that they will not rest until they find a way to remove it. You cannot have such a disproportionate reaction to small things like those, unless it is because it offends the spirits of intolerance that are behind those who feel threaten by the presence of something that they know can deliver them from the power of those demonic influences. Think of it, that was us before we got saved, being moved by the desires of our flesh to lust after the things of this world, and to hate those who take a stand for the principles of life that are taught in the Word of God. And now as believers, are we going to tolerate those same demonic entities just so that we can be part of this world system? Of course not! But remember that deliverance from them requires us to fully commit our lives to the true teachings of the Word of God. Following with this threefold principle of salvation, sanctification and belief in the truth, we can take a threefold approach as well in our stance against these demonic entities. I call it repentance, renouncement and restoration. We repent before God for all of our sins, He forgives us and cleanses us from all of our sins. 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” We renounce the world and the things which are in the world. 1 John 2:15 “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” Remember, we know that His Word is effectively working in us when the world hates us. And as we truly repent of our sins and renounce this world system, then the Lord takes it upon Himself to restore our souls to the divine setting that He originally created us to fulfill. 1 Thessalonians 3:13 “So that He may establish your hearts (souls– self-life) blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.” More teachings found here: Deliverance Ministry End Times Teachings Other Teachings
