House of Faith Ministries (HoFM) teaches choice is one of the most, if not the most radical concept that has ever been introduced to mankind. I know that many of us here in the west take this concept of choice for granted sometimes. Top of Page I HAVE CHOSEN Psalm 119:30 “I have chosen the way of truth; Your judgments I have laid before me.” Choice is one of the most, if not the most radical concept that has ever been introduced to mankind. I know that many of us here in the west take this concept of choice for granted sometimes. But if we take a sober look at the history of mankind, we will come to the conclusion that the majority of humanity never had much of a choice as far as to how they wanted to conduct their lives. Even today, there are many that are born in nations that refuse to give them a choice, be it freedom of movement, freedom of religion, or even, economic freedom. If you are born today into a religion that proclaims that to depart from such religion is a crime that is punishable by death, you clearly do not have much of a religious choice, that is, if you want to go on living. You would be surprise to know how many nations today forbid the right of their citizens to choose which God they want to worship. And if you are a Christian in certain parts of Iraq today, you will be forced to renounce Christ and convert to Islam, and if not, you will die, even if your family had lived in those areas as Christians for hundreds of years. That is the history of humanity in a nut shell, seems like there is always somebody who thinks that he knows what is better for everybody else, and for some reason they are the ones that end up with the power to lord it over everybody else. From a biblical perspective let us take a look as to where does the right to choose originate from. Genesis 2:16-17 “And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, ‘Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.’” Even before Eve was created, the first man, who was created in the image of God, was given a choice; everything was made available to him except one, for he was forbidden to partake of the tree of dead. God is sovereign, that means that He does whatever He chooses to do. Adam was created in the image of God, so he was made a sovereign creature. The difference between Adam and God, is that God is Good, so that God can never choose to do wrong, however, even though Adam was made sovereign, he was also naked, that means that he had not yet been clothed with God’s eternal goodness and immortality, since he had not yet partaken of the tree of life, therefore he is forbidden to partake of that which can kill him. But if Adam partakes of the tree of life first, he makes the tree of death obsolete. For the tree of life offers to cover Adam with God’s goodness and immortality. Which by the way is what Jesus covers us with. Romans 13:12, 14 “The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on (clothe ourselves with) the armor of light...But put on (cover ourselves with) the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.” This is why when we are born again, that is Jesus becomes the covering for our nakedness, God considers us good and without sin. 1 John 3:9 “Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed (Jesus our covering) remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.” That is because as far as God is concerned, when we came before His throne and confessed our sins before Him, He killed us, for the soul that sins shall surely die. But since we came before His throne in the name of Jesus, the death of Jesus on the cross is imputed to us, and our sins are forgiven, and Jesus covers us with His goodness and His eternal life. But even after we become born again, we still have to make choices, for as long as we remain in our mortal bodies that we inherited from Adam, we will always be plagued by our propensity to sin. 1 John 1:8 “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” So that from the spiritual perspective God only sees the atoning blood of Jesus when He looks at us, for His seed, God’s Son, remains in us, therefore we cannot sin. But from the physical perspective we still have to make choices, and wrong choices bring bad consequences. 1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light (here is our choice) as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” So that as born-again believers, the choices that we make will determine what our condition will be in any given circumstance. God already made His choice; He chose to love us, for He is love. He provided for us the cleansing agent, which is the blood of Jesus. Now it is up to us to either walk in the light, which is the revelation of His salvation to us, or we can choose to follow after the desires of our flesh, and fall into the other choice that God has made for those who reject His free offer of grace and salvation. Jeremiah 34:17 “Therefore thus says the Lord: ‘You have not obeyed Me in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother and everyone to his neighbor. Behold, I proclaim liberty to you,’ says the Lord— ‘to the sword, to pestilence, and to famine! And I will deliver you to trouble among all the kingdoms of the earth.’” Isn’t it amazing that while the world is seeking to enslave men, and to deprive them of choice, and to keep them captive, God is in the business of freedom of choice. Even when enlightened men, those who should know better, for they have tasted of the freedom that comes from knowing God—turn their backs on God’s grace and love—it is their choice that God gives them the freedom to fall into, no matter how bad their choices are for them. In our opening text, the eight verses of Psalm 119, verses 25–32, correspond with the Hebrew letter Daleth, which means door. A door is a place of entrance, no one can be born again unless he first opens the door of his heart to let the Lord in. Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with me.” So that the choices that we make open doors through which we will have to transverse, whether we like it or not, so that it becomes very important that we understand where the doors lead that we open by the choices that we make. Psalm 119:25 “My soul clings to the dust; Revive me according to Your word.” We open the door to our Lord’s salvation when we come to the realization that we cannot save ourselves. My soul clings to the dust, so we seek the salvation that is prescribed in God’s Word. How does God Word say that we are to be saved? Psalm 119:26 “I have declare my ways (confessed my sins), and You answered me (You saved me); teach me Your statutes.” Why do we need to learn His statutes? Because our choices open doors, and now that we are saved we do not want to open doors that are not in our best interest. We want to make choices that align with the plans that He has for our lives. Revelation 3:7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, ‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens.’” We want the doors that the Lord opens to remain open, and we want the doors that the Lord closes to remain close. In order for that to happen we need to learn His statutes and make the choices that they prescribe. Psalm 119:27 “Make me understand the way of Your precepts; so shall I meditate on Your wonderful works.” Understanding is what we are trying to gain from this lesson. If we can be made vividly aware of the ill consequences of unwise choices, we would think twice before we make them. Do we really want liberty to fall to the sword, to pestilence, and to famine? I say that is not a liberty that I want. O Lord, please close that door and keep me as far away from it as possible! We can only pray that prayer with real faith if we are made aware, that is, we understand the perils that those wrong choices can bring into our lives. Psalm 119:28 “My soul melts from heaviness; strengthen me according to You word.” Imagine that! It seems like the psalmist knew a thing or two about wrong choices, his words seem to cry out, not my will O Lord, not my will, but according to Your Word! Psalm 119:29 “Remove from me the way of lying, and grant me Your law graciously.” A lie is always the perversion of truth. Since we desire the truth of His Word, we need to stay focus on His law, or Word of grace. It is not by works that we have done, but by His grace that we are saved! Psalm 119:31 “I cling to Your testimonies; O Lord, do not put me to shame!” Once the right choice was made in verse 30: I have chosen the way of truth, now we cling to His promised salvation, and as we do, we will not be put to shame. Psalm 119:32 “I will run the course of Your commandments, for You shall enlarge my heart.” What a beautiful promise we conclude with, a heart that is big enough to receive tremendous enlightenment, and yet, a heart that is able to remain humble and accessible to God at all times. I want to be like that! Don’t you? More teachings found here: Deliverance Ministry End Times Teachings Other Teachings

  • GATES: SPIRITUAL PORTALS | HoFM

House of Faith Ministries (HoFM) shows we can learn from Jacob’s experience is that spiritual portals have been revealed to us. We can be standing right next to one, and in the natural we would not have a clue that it is even there. Top of Page GATES: SPIRITUAL PORTALS Genesis 28:16-19 “Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, ‘Surely the LORD is in this place, and I did not know it.’ And he was afraid and said, ‘how awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven (spiritual portal)!’ Then Jacob rose early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put at his head, set it up as a pillar, and poured oil on top of it. And he called the name of that place Bethel (house of God); but the name of that city had been Luz previously.” From the experience of Jacob that is recorded in the Scripture above, we can glean a tremendous amount of information in regards to the nature and function of spiritual portal s, otherwise known as gates. Gates Have to be Revealed! As soon as Jacob awoke from his dream, astonished by the presence of God that was there, his comment was, I did not know it. What he meant was that he had spent time in that place previous to going to sleep, and had it not been for the dream that revealed to him the significance of that place, in the natural, he would have never known that a spiritual portal existed right there in his encampment. So that the first thing we learn from Jacob’s experience is that spiritual portals have to be revealed to us. We can be standing right next to one, and in the natural we would not have a clue that it is even there. Gates are to be Respected! Now the next paragraph in the story tells us why perhaps these gates are hidden out of our natural sight, He was afraid. In nature there are places that are common and places that are special. Places of special significance are set apart because of their beauty or maybe, their historical value, or something that makes them special. So that out of respect, these certain areas are protected from common use. It is the same in the spiritual realm, wherever there is a spiritual portal, God attaches a special significance to that place, so that to those that are made aware of their existence, an awesome sense of fear and respect for that place arises within them instantly. Gates are Awesome Places! Jacob knew immediately after waking up that this place was no ordinary place, in astonishment he uttered this words, how awesome is this place. What made this place awesome to Jacob was that he found God’s presence there. We find this to be truth, that wherever there is a spiritual portal, the presence of God will be there in Spirit form. Gates are Openings into the Spiritual Realm! The physical and spiritual realm, though intertwined, are separated by walls that do not allow much interaction between the two, it is only through gate of heaven passages that such interaction is allowed to take place. Gates are to be Anointed! These gates of heavenly passages are special, not only for their importance, rarity, awesomeness, as well as for the access that they afford us to the Spirit of God, but also for the anointing that flows from them; because through these open gates God’s anointing flows. Jacob poured oil on top of it to signify that fact, for it was well known to our forefathers that it is the anointing that breaks the yoke. Gates Have Names that Designate their Assignment! As Jacob poured oil upon the rock that had been his pillow while having the dream, he called that place Bethel which means house of God, to designate that this was a gate that lead to God’s dwelling place, since he had witnessed God’s holy angels ascending and descending to the very throne of God. Gates are a Place of Spiritual Enlightenment! God’s anointing equates to God’s enlightenment, so that when an open gate is revealed, if those to whom the portal is revealed follow the proper protocol; I mean, they respect it, their in awe of their significance, they realized that a door has been opened for them to access the spiritual realm, they anoint it or make it special in their hearts. Then, their understanding will be opened to the nature (name) of that opening and they will be able to appropriate its functions. But the name of that city had been Luz previously. Although Jacob called that place Bethel or the house of God, due to his personal experience there, that place had being previously named Luz which means light or enlightenment. So that gates may go by different names to those who have their own experience, yet the function of the gate will certainly be the same. Acts 17:26-28 “And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being...” Gates are all Over the Earth! Wherever men have settled on all the face of the earth, God has placed gates, and has determined their pre-appointed times, and according to His wisdom, He has set up the boundaries of their dwellings for the purpose of enticing men to seek the Lord, to seek His anointing, to seek His enlightenment, to grope for Him (if they have to, like a blind person would) and find Him, although He is never far from us. What Happens if we Find a Gate? Isaiah 28:6 “For a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, and for strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.” God’s enlightenment will always lead us to make the right decisions. In other words, the spirit of justice allows us to make the right judgments. The anointing on the other hand, enables us with the strength needed to turn back the spiritual battle at the source, before it gets near to us. Isaiah 29:21 “Those who with a word make a man out to be guilty, who ensnare the defender in court (the gate) and with false testimony deprive the innocent of justice.” Where is it that Satan makes his accusations against us? Is it not before the heavenly court, which is just another name for gate or portal? Do we not have access to the same heavenly court with our very own advocate by our side, even Jesus? So here is a revelation, we just found an open gate, and is the name of Jesus that grants us access to God’s heavenly court, where we can silence our accusing enemy with the blood of Jesus and by the word of our testimony. Amos 7:13 “But never again prophesy at Bethel, for it is the king's sanctuary, and it is the royal residence.” Centuries later, at Bethel, a wicked king tried to silence one of God’s prophets from accessing the gate at the house of God. Read the response of the holy prophet. Amos 7:12-17 “Then Amaziah said to Amos: ‘Go, you seer! Flee to the land of Judah. There eat bread, and there prophesy. But never again prophesy at Bethel, For it is the king’s sanctuary, and it is the royal residence.’ Then Amos answered, and said to Amaziah: ‘I was no prophet, nor was I a son of a prophet, but I was a sheep-breeder and a tender of sycamore fruit. Then the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said to me,’ ‘Go, prophesy to My people Israel.’ Now therefore, hear the word of the LORD: you say, ‘Do not prophesy against Israel, and do not spout against the house of Isaac.’ Therefore thus says the LORD: ‘Your wife shall be a harlot in the city; your sons and daughters shall fall by the sword; your land shall be divided by survey line; you shall die in a defiled land; and Israel shall surely be led away captive from his own land.’” Is that the way to talk to a priest or what? Amos, being a true prophet of the Living God, was under the anointing and enlightenment of God, as such, he understood the severity of the charges against him, by no less than the priest of Bethel, the very man who sat at the spiritual gate of the city, who was trying hard to silence him. The priest of Bethel was in violation of God’s Word according to Isaiah: those who with a word make a man out to be guilty. So that Amos rebuke and judgment against priest Amaziah was swift and harsh. I guess we can say that he nipped it on the bud, before it left the gate. Is it not what this lesson is all about? To silence the enemy and the avenger at the gate? 1 Corinthians 2:14-15 “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual (battles at the gate) judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.” Glory to God, in Jesus mighty name we thank you Lord for awesome is Your name, and awesome is Your presence at the gate. • WHY DOES SATAN WANT YOU SO MUCH | HoFM

House of Faith Ministries (HoFM) presents the following: Have you ever asked yourself why does Satan want me? It’s an interesting question and opens up the Bible by bringing a more complete understanding of the entire picture, and it goes back to the very beginning in the Garden of Eden. Top of Page Top of Page WHY DOES SATAN WANT YOU SO MUCH? Written by Lisa Kane Have you ever asked yourself why does Satan want me? It’s an interesting question and opens up the Bible by bringing a more complete understanding of the entire picture, and it goes back to the very beginning in the Garden of Eden. Genesis 2:8 New King James Version (NJKV) 8 The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. Genesis 2:15-20 (NJVK) 15 Then the Lord God took [d ]the man and put him in the garden of Eden to [e ]tend and keep it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you[f ] shall surely die.” 18 And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” 19 Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to [g ]Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. The above scriptures show us that Adam was in the Garden of Eden without Eve for some amount of time. We don’t know how much time because the Bible doesn't tell us, but we can guess that at least several months to maybe a handful of years went by where there was no Eve. How do I know this? How many animals, beasts, and birds did God create that Adam named and how long do you think it took Adam to name them all? Imagine this, let’s say God brought in a male and female animal that were gray, big, and heavy with trunks on them and Adam says I will call these elephants. What-if God asked Adam why? And what-if Adam asked God why a skinny tail versus a bigger tail to match its girth? You see God and Adam were talking or having a relationship. They were spending time with one another. God interacted with the image He made of Himself. Genesis 1:26a (NKJV) 26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; We were made extremely different then any other creature God had already made. We don’t look like the angels and to top it all off, God was spending time with Adam, not the other angels. Which begs the question, who was in the Garden of Eden watching? Ezekiel 28:13 (NKJV) 13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes Was prepared for you on the day you were created. Satan was in the garden of Eden and he was watching everything going on. He was perplexed and confused to say the least. He couldn’t figure out how could God spend so much time with such an inferior creature? When comparing man against his beauty, there was no comparison. He was made with every precious stone and was so beautiful, yet God wasn’t spending time with him…no he was spending time with Adam. When Satan saw that God placed a female in the Garden and left to give Adam and Eve a ‘honeymoon’, Satan wanted to show God how inferior this creature was. In fact, he wanted to make it such a point to rub it in His face…and was probably thinking that he could do a better job in creating creatures. And that is why Satan wanted us. And he continues to want us to this day because every time he wins, he's hurting God. Satan doesn't care about who you are or what you do but he does care that God loves you so much that he'll do everything in his power to hurt you because he knows it will hurt God. To put it simply, Satan hates God and everything God loves, Satan hates. God showed His love by spending time with Adam. Love is action and God is action. I bet Satan thought he was right when he deceived Eve and Adam. Genesis 3:1-6 (NKJV) 3 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” 2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ” 4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was [a ]pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves [b ]coverings. But God. He had a bigger plan all along. John 3:16-17 (NKJV) 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. We’re made in His image and He loves us. He paid a large price, the death of His Son on the cross, to get us back from the curse of sin when Adam and Eve disobeyed God because of Satan's hatred toward Him. Romans 6:23 (NKJV) 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the [a ]gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. After Adam and Eve sinned, they began aging and eventually died. But Jesus broke death by rising from the dead. Matthew 28:6a (NKJV) 6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Hallelujah! Now you and I can rise from certain death by believing and Satan may want to hurt us to hurt God but he can't hurt us anymore. God made a way for us to be saved! Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV) 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. And all it takes is talking to God. It began as a relationship with God and Adam, and it will end in a relationship with God and me (you). Say this out loud: Dear Jesus, thank You for dying on the cross. Forgive me of my sins and come into my life. Be my Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ Name Amen! Praise the Lord! You are now saved through Jesus Christ and don’t let anyone or anything tell you otherwise. Protect yourself by staying in that relationship with God because where God is, Satan isn’t. How do you stay in a relationship with God? Read His Word! It will be your foundation and get you through life. • DO NOT GRIEVE THE HOLY SPIRIT | HoFM

House of Faith Ministries (HoFM) presents a teaching on Ephesians 4:30 “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.” Top of Page DO NOT GRIEVE THE HOLY SPIRIT Ephesians 4:30 “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.” In Ephesians chapter four Paul is dealing with the church from the perspective of what God’s call is to the body of Christ for ministry, Paul is dealing with all levels of ministry. By the time that he gets to the end of the chapter he adds the above warning: Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, almost as a redundant warning of something that should have been obvious to all who were serving our Lord back then, and that is that, without the Holy Spirit there is no true ministry. Unfortunately, what was very clear to the believers of Paul’s day has become somewhat muddled in our present time, because there are many ministries today that do not function under the unction of the Holy Spirit. Let us begin under the assumption that the ministers and ministry types that we are going to examine here, are all called by God and abide in true service to God; then let us ask this question: How do I personally, and how do we as a body, keep from grieving the Holy Spirit of God when rendering to Him what is our due reverence to Him, our service? Number One: We need to know what our calling is! Ephesians 4:1 “I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called.” Not knowing what our calling is, and that we are all called, will surely hinder in us the flow of the Holy Spirit that is so vital for our spiritual growth, and so necessary for our training and edification. Imagine getting hired to work in a large department store or factory, and when we get there we have no idea as to what place or division we are to report to. We wouldn't just start working and serving aimlessly somewhere in that place in the hope that somebody from the placement department that hired us to begin with will eventually find us and send us to our proper destination. Yet, that is what many Christians do, after they get saved instead of seeking what God’s ministry and calling is for them, they just serve out of place where others are glad to have their help, but it will not profit the person that is in the wrong place any, because as far as management is concerned, they did not show up to work where they were needed. Number Two: We need to have the right attitude, a humbled spirit! Ephesians 4:2-3 “With all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another with love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” There are some that after they get saved, have a desire to serve in a ministry that they are not called to perform, because in their eyes this other ministry is a more glamorous ministry than the one, they know they were called to; this too is grievous to the Holy Spirit. So that we are not only supposed to be in the right ministry, but we also need to have the right attitude about the ministry that we are in. Humility includes lots of patience also, and patience is needed because in a sense we are all in training. If we think that we can do a better job at what another person has been called to do, our tendency might be that of doing their part just because we can do it better and or faster than they can, and by us doing what they are supposed to be doing, we hinder their calling to the point that they will never get the training necessary to eventually fulfill their calling. I was involved in the making of a TV commercial once for the company that I worked for at that time. The setting was in a beautiful three story house in Malibu, California, overlooking the Pacific Ocean . I was spraying the outside stucco of the house with a life long texture coating material, the owner of the company had arranged for a Hollywood crew that filmed commercials to be there the day that I was spraying. After they finished filming my part, they set up to the side of the house a tarp over the grass and put a bucket of paint into which one of the commercial making crew was to through a paint brush into, to make the emphasis that if you put our product on your house you could get rid of your paint and brushes, for you would never have to paint again. There were about eight people in the commercial filming crew, and this one fellow was assigned the task of throwing the brush into the paint bucket, a smile still comes to my face as I am telling you the story, for this fellow could not hit the inside of the bucket no matter how hard the poor fellow tried. Take after take, changing the angle, getting closer to the bucket, nothing, they tried everything. Others on the crew would have no problem hitting the inside of the bucket in just one or two tries, to which somebody in the filming crew suggested to the director that they might have to use somebody other than the person that was assigned for that job originally, so that they could get the commercial done. To my amazement, the director told them that this fellow was hired by the commercial company for that purpose and that the company knew best, and that they would be there until that poor fellow got the brush into the bucket. Encouraged by the unshaken commitment of his boss as to what his calling was, the young man got the brush in the bucket in the very next take, the cheers from all of us who were there were heard all the way back to Los Angeles. But I learned a spiritual lesson that day that has served me well through the years. When it comes to God’s calling for a person’s life, only God knows the magnitude and the impact that His gift and calling will have in that person’s life, and after all is not how you begin, but the depth of your heart’s commitment to your call that really matters. So that when serving the Lord in ministry, as I recognized the gift and the calling of God upon a person that was serving in whatever ministry it was that I was in charged of at the time, I would immediately set out to help them to develop their gifts no matter how inept or uncomfortable they appeared at first, knowing that someday that person would glorify Jesus in the exercising of their calling. I found out that if I kept getting myself replaced by somebody that was better than me at whatever it was that I was doing, that the body of Jesus was being edified and better served, after all that is what really matters. Ephesians 4:4-7 “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift.” Although each one of us receives personal gifts, these gifts are always for the purpose of enabling and equipping the saints for the work of the ministry and for the edifying of the One body of Christ. Ephesians 4:12-13 “For the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” Number Three: Know what the function and emphasis of the five different offices of ministry are, for they embodied the qualities of leadership under which the church is and should be governed. Ephesians 4:11 “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers.” The church represents the physical body of Christ here on the earth, a physical body has five different senses, vision, hearing, smell, taste, touch, by which it navigates through life. The five offices of ministry are a spiritual representation of those five senses through which the body of Christ operates here on the earth. In order for us to be more effective in ministry, we need to know under which of those five offices, or combination of these offices, any given ministry into which we are involve with its functioning, for the spiritual emphasis will be different under each one of these five offices. Isaiah 29:10 “For the Lord has poured out on you the spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes, namely, the prophets; and He has covered your heads, namely the seers.” Here we see how the Lord uses that metaphor against Israel. Their eyes represent the spiritual vision that enables their prophets to prophesy God’s Word to the nation, and if you cover the entire head, they are no longer even able to process the Word of God that they already had. The Apostolic and the Prophetic Ministries In our present day the apostles and their apostolic ministry, along with the prophets and their prophetic ministry, represent the foundation upon which the entire church is built. Ephesians 2:20-22 “Having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building (the church), being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.” If an apostle is one who lays the foundation, and he is, then no other foundation can be laid but that which has already been laid by the founding apostles, and all true prophets will testify to that. 1 Corinthians 3:11 “For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” The apostolic ministries of today are ministries that start brand new churches in places where no other churches existed before, but if their foundation is not that which has already been laid, then that ministry is not part of the building of God, for it has not been erected on the original foundation which Christ laid when He built His church. The ministry of today’s prophets is not the same as it was for the prophets of Jesus’ days, for through their prophetic ministry God gave to us the books that comprise the New Testament through which the foundation of the church was established, hence: Having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets there is nothing new that we can add. However, the prophets of today are the ones that proclaim that which was prophesied by the prophets of old, in both the Old and New Testaments, as being extremely relevant to what is going on in the world of today, they keep God’s yet to be fulfilled promises alive to the present generation. Also, the prophets of today testify against the so-called churches that are not built on the solid foundation of God’s apostolic church but are built on a deviation of what God originally intended His church to be built on. And if you are involved in an apostolic ministry that aims to start new churches where none ever existed before, make sure that they are being built in the apostolic pattern laid out for us in the New Testament, and in you helping them, model your service to them in the same manner that those who helped the apostles build their churches back then did, that is why we have His Word in the New Testament to aid us. The Evangelistic Ministry An evangelist is one who preaches the Gospel for the purpose of making converts. You may ask, how does that differ from one who teaches and by his teaching leads others to the Lord? Or from a pastor who preaches and makes converts through his preaching? Salvation is not limited to any one ministry, for the Holy Spirit convicts' sinners every time the Word of God is proclaimed no matter who proclaims it. But just like the eye may see something and it is confirmed by the ear hearing something, the evangelistic ministry is designed to work hand in hand with the other two. The heart of a true evangelist however is in leading sinners to Christ, he is not as concerned with who is going to disciple the convert, or who is going to teach them spiritual principles, for the evangelist knows that that is the work of the church. 2 Timothy 4:5 “But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.” The Ministry of the Pastor The ministry of the pastor revolves around the task of keeping the flock together, as his title implies. A pastor’s main concern is that of maintaining the house/church in proper working order. He not only feeds the flock with the Word of God, but he also steers it away from danger. God has appointed the pastors as the overseers of the spiritual heath and well being of the flock. If the enemy, like a wolf, comes against one of the members of his church, that enemy will have to go through that pastor’s authority and watchful eyes in order to get to that member. So that the pastor is not overwhelmed by all his responsibilities, God brings into the church teachers, evangelists, administrators, and divers helps, that means everybody in the congregation, that allows that pastor to focus his energy into keeping his flock safe from spiritual attacks. If a pastor surrounds himself with wise elders that will inform and advise him truthfully about the spiritual condition of the church, what they see from their perspectives, that pastor will have everything that he needs to maintain his people safe, but if he ignores their wise counsel, his people will suffer the consequences. Nothing worse than a pastor that thinks that he knows everything, even David a wise shepherd himself, needed the counsel of the seers that God provided and surrounded him with. A pastor’s ministry is to build others up and not to tear them down, his ministry can be summed up by this verse of Scripture: Ephesians 4:29 “Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.” The Ministry of the Teacher Matthew 13:52 “He said to them, ‘Therefore every teacher of the law (the Word of God) who has been instructed about the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old.’” NIV Jesus really paints it with this verse as to what the nature and calling of a teacher really is. I once, during a time of fellowship with some very close friends who were asking if we could play some kind of constructive word game, suggested to them that we pretend that we were stranded in a desert island without our Bibles, and told them, let us see how much of John chapter one we can recreate from memory, and after we have exhausted every one of our recollections we will look it up and see how well we did. Well to begin with we could not even remember how many verses were in the whole chapter, can you without looking it up? A teacher of the Word of God may not really be able to literally, from his memory, have the ability to reconstruct all or even parts of the Word of God, but the essence of what that chapter was about was firmly etched in my heart. For that word had become real in my heart, and I went on to preach from it that night without opening a Bible. So that the ministry of a teacher of the Word of God is to store in the storeroom of his heart, the essence of the revelation that the Word of God brings to his enlightenment. To treasure the revelation that the Holy Spirit reveals into his heart to such a point that, they not only remember the revelation, but how it made them feel and the circumstances that brought the revelation about. An anointed teacher can be likened to a spiritual reservoir that can bring to a thirsty church rivers of living waters in the time of drought. 1 Samuel 3:1, 19 “Now the boy Samuel ministered to the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was rare in those days; there was no widespread revelation...So Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him and let none of his (God’s) words fall to the ground.” More teachings found here: Deliverance Ministry End Times Teachings Other Teachings

  • STABILITY FOR OUR TIMES | HoFM

House of Faith Ministries (HoFM) asks why do we have to go through trials? Why is it that we all must suffer indignations? It was Jesus who told us that in this world you will have tribulations. Top of Page STABILITY FOR OUR TIMES Isaiah 33:6 “Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times, and the strength of salvation; the fear of the Lord is His treasure.” Why do we have to go through trials? Why is it that we all must suffer indignations? It was Jesus who told us that: In this world you will have tribulations. We humans by nature, are creatures of comfort for the most part; we do not like it if gets too hot, and we certainly do not like when our feet get too cold. We can safely assume that the most prevalent of all human fantasies, and the only one whose realization has eluded humanity throughout all of its history, is the utopian fantasy of a society that is void of trouble. For millennia those who lived near the ocean dreamed and longed for oceans that were void of hurricanes, tsunamis, and of invading war ships. Those who lived by rivers, lived in fear of its drying up or of its seasonal flooding, also in the fear of armies that used rivers as a highway to facilitate their conquests. Old cities were usually built around the natural resources that allowed them to grow and to prosper, and the fear that they might lose those resources or that those resources might attract enemies, were the very cause for their anxiety and insecurity, and in many cases the reason for their demise as well; that is just a historical fact of life. Our opening verse of Scripture seems to imply that our knowledge of the fact that, In this world we will have tribulations, will somehow bring stability into the times in which we are living, whether it be the good times or the bad times. Proverbs 18:14 “The spirit of a man will sustain him in sickness, but who can bear a broken spirit?” The wisdom of God will sustain the spirit of the man, and the knowledge that in all things and that at all times God is in total and complete control of whatever situation we are facing, is the hope of the soul and the strength of the salvation that God has for all of us. Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” If we know that God is always working out the plan and destiny that He has for our lives, and the lives of those who love Him, then we have peace, and that peace is the strength of our salvation. Our spirit becomes sick or broken when we lose hope, and our lack of understanding is the reason why we lose our hope. We need to know deep within our souls that in order for our salvation to be strengthened, our faith must be tried, for without God’s testing in our lives we will never find the treasures that our Lord has for us all. The fear of the Lord, which is the reverence due to the promises given to us, the believers, by God in His Word, are His treasure! Abraham had to face the death of his son, the son of promise, before he could find the life of the Son of God that was promised to him in the covenant that followed his testing. A parent might ask from the depths of their bereavement, after the death of their innocent child: How does the death of my child that I loved be in any way constructive to me and to the plans that God has for my life? That is a question that only God is qualified to answer, since it was He who voluntarily gave us His most precious Son, not only to die, but to be vilified and tortured; not just physical torture, but He had to endure horrific demonic oppression to the depths that no other human had ever endured, and unlike us who are worthy of punishment because of all our sins, He endured all that He did for the sake of demonstrating His perfect love for us; that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. Matthew 19:14 “ But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.’” I’ve officiated over a few funerals in my ministry life, they ranged from complete strangers that I had never met, to very close dear loved ones whose departure broke my heart. The resurrection Scriptures that I’ve quoted over the strangers that I buried would not have had as much meaning and intensity to me if it were not for the fact that they were the very same resurrection Scriptures that I’ve quoted over the loved ones that I’ve buried. Though about to be buried, I proclaimed those Scriptures over them in the hope that some day I would see them alive again in the flesh. In a gravesite service for a Christian elderly woman whom I had never met, and in the presence of a few people that included some of the workers that would be burying her after I finish the service, all of the sudden I had tears rundown my face when I spoke about the surety of her resurrection from the dead someday. The people that were present did not know that as I was speaking with conviction of faith about her future resurrection from the dead, that the Lord spoke to my heart and said to me, You might not have known who she was in this life, but one day soon you will meet her in person when I raise all my children who trust My Words from the dead. It was there that it became so real to me; for right there it hit me, the reality that we have not followed cunningly devised fables, for we were eye witnesses of Christ’s resurrection, one of the apostles said. Death may loom large above us now while on this earth, but the reality of His resurrected life dissipates all gloominess and fears, for we know that someday soon He will raise us up. Isaiah 33:10 “Now I will rise, says the Lord; now I will be exalted, now I will lift Myself up.” For us Christians, death is a non-issue , or at least it should be. I am not saying that it does not hurt when we lose a loved one, for it does; or that we should not mourn properly, for it is necessary for us to do so. Who among us has not experienced the death of a loved one or will one day experience the sting of death for ourselves? For it is appointed unto men once to die. The revelation of the knowledge that I am trying to teach here revolves around the fact that to God all live. And if we are believers of the Word of God, then according to God’s Word the loved ones that we’ve lost are not dead, and must certainly they are not lost; we have been separated from them temporarily, but they are definitely neither lost nor dead to God. 2 Samuel 12:22-23 “...While the child was alive, I fasted and wept; for I said, ‘Who can tell whether the Lord will be gracious to me, that the child may live? But now he is dead; why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.’” The foundation of Christianity itself stands on the fact of the reality of the physical resurrection from the dead. We do not believe in a sort of a wishy-washy existence after we’re dead that somehow coexists with the elements of nature. After we die we do not live as spirits among the trees or the mountains, not even in the clouds; as believers of Jesus Christ, after we die we go to a real place called heaven, in a new body that is given to us after we die, and we are taken before our living Savior, who is sitting in a real throne with a real physical body. And not only that but the loved ones that preceded us will be there to greet us as well, along with our Savior. And we need to know these facts if we want to enjoy rock solid stability in the face of calamities. 2 Corinthians 5:1 “For we know that if our earthly house, this tent (our physical body) is destroyed (dies), we have a building from God, a house (new body) not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” Our new eternal bodies will display the spiritual qualities that our earthly bodies presently hinder, for while here in our present physical appearance we are not capable of displaying our true person. So that our person will be known in heaven to all who knew us here on the earth, even though the physical appearance of our new body in heaven might differ a lot from what we looked like here on earth. Children and infants will be grown ups for example. That is because many if not all of us, have bodies here on this earth that have been deformed by the consequences of the iniquity which our bodies have inherited, the iniquities that caused the development of our present bodies to deviate from God’s original blue print for us. But our redeemed personalities will be showcased through the perfectness of our new bodies in an incredibly amazing choreography of God’s individuality for each one of us, that will be made known to all: We will know as we are known! Isaiah 33:24 “And the inhabitant will not say, ‘I am sick’; the people who dwell in it (their new bodies) will be forgiven their iniquities.” The wisdom of knowing that we are but sojourners on this earth, and that our destiny is one of gain, peace, and perfection, brings into our souls the stability that keeps us strong through whatever adversities we must travel; for in the end, His great and precious promises are the treasure that will reward our faithfulness if we don’t give up! • KINGS AND PRIESTS | HoFM House of Faith Ministries

House of Faith Ministries (HoFM) presents a teaching on Revelation 1:6 “And has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” Top of Page KINGS AND PRIESTS Revelation 1:6 “And has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” From the beginning of time God made it clear to His creation that there are two distinct levels of authority given to man; physical authority and spiritual authority. From the beginning of time fallen man made it clear to the creation that he cannot handle both powers without falling prey to the spirit of pride, the pride that rises up when this combined authority is given to a fallen human man. You might have heard this human saying: Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. The present history of the nations reveal the scars caused by madmen who were given too much power and fell into pride, and before their fall, they took along with them millions of lives and caused untold sufferings. As we study the Old Testament we see this power divided, not only in the way the kings of Israel and Judah ruled, but also in the way secular rulers governed their kingdoms; all kings availed themselves of the counsel of spiritual advisers called priests or seers. The reason why kings needed spiritual counsel was because God deprived them of spiritual revelation as long as they ruled as kings, thereby separating their physical power from the spiritual power. In other words, they had to depend on the judgment of somebody else in order to avail themselves of spiritual revelation. Exodus 28:30 “And you shall put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim (Lights and the Perfections), and they shall be over Aaron’s heart when he goes in before the Lord. So Aaron shall bear the judgment (decision making tools) of the children of Israel over his heart before the Lord continually.” When God brought the nation of Israel out of Egypt to give them their own land, He made provisions for them as to how their leaders were to handle both of these powers after they became a nation. The Urim and the Thummim were placed on the breastplate that the priest was to wear before he went into the Lord’s Presence, along with the twelve stones that represented each one of the tribes of Israel. The function of these two stones was to ask the Lord for guidance and direction in both physical and spiritual matters. That way, they could be certain that when the Lord answered them, that they had received perfect light or complete enlightenment as how to precede in any given matter. 1 Samuel 28:6 “And when Saul inquired of the Lord, the Lord did not answer him, either by dreams or by Urim or by the prophets.” It was not long after Israel became a nation, that they wanted to be ruled by a king like the other nations. They did not like the way that God had set up their government, for at that time they were ruled by priests, judges, and prophets. God had divided the power of their leaders to keep them from becoming dictators who imposed their own will over God’s people. Saul, who was their first king, violated this separation of powers that God had set up to protect Israel from oppression, and thereby, Saul lost his ability to receive direction from God. This lesson is about the interactions between spiritual and physical authority, the restrictions that God placed between them and why, and how God has restored back to the Man Jesus, all spiritual and physical authority, and how this dual authority has been made available to all of us who are believers of the resurrected Christ. Matthew 28:18 “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth (physical and spiritual).’” Before the flood of Noah’s day, interactions between the spiritual realm and physical realm were common, which led to the corruption of the entire human race, except for Noah and his children. After the destruction of the entire human race—except for the eight souls that God spared— God separated man’s ability to rule in both, the physical and spiritual realms through one man. After Nimrod lead a rebellion and built a tower to reach to the heavens, God extended the separation to include the common language of men so as to frustrate man’s ability to operate in both realms singularly. Is not that God does not want man to have rule over both realms, but rather to protect mankind from the dangers that the abuse of such great power ushers into society, when fallen men are empowered by them. Genesis 14:17-18 “And the king of Sodom went out to meet him (Abraham) at the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley), after his return from the defeat of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him. Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High.” Abraham went to war in order to rescue his nephew Lot, who had been taken captive by an invading army. In his victory, Abraham also gained all the peoples that had been taken captive along with Lot. As Abraham returns with the spoils, he is met by the king of Sodom and the king of Salem in a place called the King’s Valley. What happened next determined the future of Abraham and the covenant that God made with him afterwards. As we look at it from the spiritual perspective, we notice that Abraham became a king—one who wields physical authority—by defeating other kings and taking the spoil away from them. As Abraham arrives to the Valley of the Kings, he is acknowledged by two other kings. The king of Sodom who was himself defeated by the kings that Abraham had just defeated, tells Abraham to keep all the spoils, and just return his people to him that had been taken captive by the invading army. He simply recognized the fact that Abraham was a greater king than he was. The other king is Melchizedek who offers Abraham bread and wine, which are the implements of a covenant. God gave Abraham a choice that day, when he ascended into the King’s Valley—between spiritual authority and physical authority—Abraham had to choose between becoming a king or a priest. Notice that Melchizedek was not only king of Salem, but he was also priest of the Most High God. Genesis 14:22-23 “But Abram said to the king of Sodom, ‘I have raised my hand to the Lord, God Most High, the Possessor of heaven and earth (the Possessor of all physical and spiritual authority), that I will take nothing, from a thread to a sandal strap, and that I will not take anything that is yours, lest you should say, “I have made Abram rich”.’” Two great things happened that day; first, Abram who was a spiritual man, recognized the division that God had set between physical and spiritual authority, and the fact that he could not have both. Secondly, he was quick to recognize that God was giving him a choice between the physical gains that he had earned in battle—gains which passes away—and a spiritual covenant of grace that endures forever. Romans 4:1-3 “What then shall we say that Abraham our father has found according to the flesh? For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. For what does the Scripture say? ‘Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.’” The reason king Saul did not receive an answer from God when he inquired of the Lord, was because he took it upon himself to offer sacrifices to God, which is the ministry of the priesthood, thereby violating the separation of powers that God had ordained between spiritual and physical authority. Looking at the big picture, when God ordained spiritual authority that He established for the nations are usurped by those who rule over the physical realm, the blessings of God upon that nation dries up. As the Judeo-Christian principles upon which many of the western nations were established are replaced by the godless doctrines of secular humanism, the decline of western civilization increases to the point to where the rule of law becomes a choice that lawless leaders make. In the United States, the secular humanist have fought long and hard to remove any vestige of the Judeo-Christian principles upon which our founding fathers anchored the moral values and virtues that should govern our nation. We can measure the decline of our nation’s power and influence by the quantity of the moral values and virtues that it has rejected. We know that the secular humanist movement against the principles established by our founding fathers have succeeded by the fact that instead of receiving honorable decisions from our leaders that benefit the people, we get nothing but lies and deception from them. Looking at it from the individual point of view, we can see that for those of us who are in Christ, it has been granted to us to operate in the power of both, the physical and the spiritual realms. Ephesians 2:14-16 “For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation (between spiritual and physical power), having abolished in His flesh (Jesus is the only perfect human who cannot be corrupted by absolute power) the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.” What is the difference between us and those in the Old Testament? The cross! One cannot become a follower of Jesus unless we first, with Him, bear our very own cross. Death to self is the key that opens the door that allows us access to the united spiritual and physical power. Ephesians 2:18 “For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.” Those of us who have taken our infirmities and mortality to the cross of Jesus, we have the spiritual and the physical power that binds us together as a nation out of the many nations, for the deliverance of the nations. In the natural, the godless and their godlessness seems to be advancing, but in reality, by the decline that their godless deeds produce, the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is made clearer and clearer to those who were fooled before into believing their dead humanistic doctrines. This is what Jesus said after He told us that all power in heaven and on earth had been given to Him, and this is what we should do in the face of all this godlessness that is going on, here is the antidote to all their lies: Matthew 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
