  • THE END OF DAYS | HoFM

Top of Page END TIMES TEACHING THE END OF DAYS Lamentations 4:18 “They tracked our steps so that we could not walk in our streets, our end was near; our days were over, for our end had come.” Throughout the history of mankind there has always been a group of people fascinated with the end of things, the end of days, and with the end of time. Maybe it is because we experience the death of things on a daily basis, we are not so much aware of it, those of us who live in modern cities that provide us with the comfort of buying things that have already been killed and packaged, but think back to earlier times. I remember when I was a kid growing up in Cuba, even though we lived over the ocean waters, for our house was built on stilts, we still raised chickens on the back deck of the house, and every time my mom was going to fix chicken for dinner one of them had to die. We kept live fish in the well tank of our boat that was tied to the front of the house, and every time that we were going to have fish for dinner, we went to the tank, got the fish out, killed it and cooked it. We did that with pigs and turkeys that we raised for special occasions as well, I even remember a goat that we raised once, it chewed through the wooden boards on the floor and fell through and ended up hanging itself on the chain that it had tied around its neck while its hind legs were dangling over the water. So that the experience of the cycles of life and death, beginning and endings, are well seated within our DNA. But how does the Bible define what we call the end of days, not just generally as of the end of the age, but our personal end as well? Psalm 39:4 “Lord, make me to know my end, and what is the measure of my days, that I may know how frail I am.” David’s prayer gives us great insight as to why we humans are either fascinated, fearful, or willfully indifferent, to the awareness of the end of things as we know them. How many times are we reminded of our mortality? How many times do we ignore it? At the heart of David’s prayer was the cognitive reality that to ignore our personal mortality reduces our ability to prepare ourselves, and our posterity, for the end of the age that will one day come upon the final generation of humans that will live to see that day. David strongly implies that knowing about his personal mortality as well as the duration of his days while here on the earth, would make him more sensitive to the frailty of life. Now here is the implication, it is extremely hard for us humans to really value human life if we are not fully aware of the value of our own life. How do we react to news that a flood or a landslide killed hundreds of people on a far away distant land? First thought that comes to mind is, those things are always happening to those people out there. How do we react when a tragedy like that happens in our own neck of the woods? New York city is still three thousand miles from where I lived in September 11, 2001 and yet I felt, and I still feel, like I was right there when that tragedy happened. Now why is that? Because when we are personally affected by an event that causes many lives to perish, their death becomes more real to us. And that is the idea that Psalm 39 is trying to convey to us. Listen to what it was that caused David to ask God to give him the revelation of: Make me to know my end. Psalm 39:2-3 “I was mute with silence, I held my peace (became indifferent) even from good; and my sorrow was stirred up. My heart was hot within me; while I was musing (just thinking about it), the fire burned. Then I spoke with my tongue (took action).” Wow! What a powerful description of what moved him. First David said to himself, I am going to keep my mouth shut, I don’t care if it is good or bad, I’m just going to stay out of it. Isn’t that what so many of us do today? Society is going to hell in a hand basket all around us, so many are dying of drug overdose, so many others are shot dead on a daily basis, and well, we just feel so helpless that we tell ourselves to ignore it, for after all, there is nothing that we can really do about it, or so we feel. Then David said that his sorrow was stirred up, what was it that caused David’s sorrow to be moved? He said that while he was just sitting around thinking about the situation and doing nothing, the fire burned. There are two ways to interpret that, one is that while we sit around and muse and do nothing, the fire continuous to rage and consume all around us unopposed, inflicting a heavy toll on society. The other way to interpret that is, that while we are witnessing the heavy toll on life that our indifference is in some way aiding and abetting, it is what causes our inward fire to burn that moves us to do something. What David did was he prayed. Prayer is recognition that we ourselves are unable to change the situation by our own mortal means. It is amazing to me that David in his prayer did not ask God to give him strength to deal with the situation that he was too weak to handle, instead he asked God to reveal to him his weaknesses to the utter most, for this is what David say: That I may know how frail I am. This is so amazing, because it defies human logic. How is me knowing how weak in reality I really am is going to solve the situation? There is a Scripture parallel that applies here I believe, and it is found in the entire book of the prophet Habakkuk. Habakkuk 1:2-4 “O Lord, how long shall I cry, and You will not hear? Even cry out to You, ‘Violence!’ And you will not save. Why do you show me iniquity, and cause me to see trouble? For plundering and violence are before me; there is strife, and contention arises. Therefore the law is powerless, and justice never goes forth. For the wicked surround the righteous; therefore perverse judgment proceeds.” Habakkuk was a righteous Israelite man who lived among the sinful people of the nation of Israel of that time. He is praying to God, and he is asking God why He is not answering his prayer, Habakkuk tells God that he is even pointing out the wrongdoing that he sees when he cries out publicly, Violence! Back in Bible days it was customary to cry out publicly, or to publish, when something bad was happening that could affect those around them. In the case of a leprous person having to pass near anyone else that was not infected with leprosy, the victims of leprosy were required by law to cry out loudly, Unclean! Unclean! To warn those around then not to come in close contact with them. In the same manner when a sin was being perpetrated against another in the nation of Israel, it was required of the Israelites to expose the wrong doing publicly, and that is what Habakkuk is saying to God he did, to no avail. Then Habakkuk says this to God: Why do you show me iniquity, and cause me to see trouble? Basically, Habakkuk is saying, Lord if You are not going to answer my prayer of action against lawlessness, why then do you allow me to witness so much evil? After all, if you do not answer my prayer, there is absolutely nothing that I can do about the wrong that is all around me. However, God is trying to teach Habakkuk what David already knew and was teaching us on Psalm 39. Habakkuk 1:5 “Look among the nations and watch—be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days which you would not believe, though it was told you.” So, God takes the prophet Habakkuk into a vision of the near future and reveals to him what dreadful end the nation of Israel has coming because of all their sinfulness that they refused to repent from. Habakkuk is in shock when he witnesses first-hand what the utter devastation of all those around him will be. However what troubles him the most is the way in which God executes judgment on Israel. I guess Habakkuk expected some holy and righteous nation to be used by God to judge his faltering nation, but instead God uses a nation that is far worse, as far as sinfulness and cruelty is, than Israel ever was, to judge them. This is how God describes the nation that He will use to judge Israel for all their sinfulness that they have committed against Him. Habakkuk 1:7 “They are terrible and dreadful; their judgment and their dignity proceed from themselves.” So that Habakkuk’s prayer changes in emphasis, instead of saying how bad the Israelites really are that lived all around him, now he is asking God how can you use a nation that is far worse than Israel could have ever been to judge us? And then this is what Habakkuk says: Habakkuk 2:1 “I will stand my watch and set myself on the rampart, and watch to see what He will say to me, and what I will answer when I am corrected.” Then God takes Habakkuk into a vision of the future end of days, when the entire earth, along with all the nations, will be judged by God for all their ungodly acts that they have committed against Him. The experience is so traumatic that Habakkuk finally realizes that the judgments of God for the end of days are so completely dreadful, that he now understands how frail human life truly is, and instead of feelings of inadequacy and helplessness, or complaining about all the wrong that was all around him, instead he realizes that the only hope for all humans lies in God’s mercy. Habakkuk 3:2 “O Lord, I have heard Your speech and was afraid; O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known; In wrath remember mercy.” David’s prayer was: Make me to know my end, and what is the measure of my days, that I may know how frail I am. Notice how the prayer of Habakkuk mirrors what the prayer of David was, Revive Your work in the midst of the (my) years. I believe that there are no humans that have ever experienced how dreadful the judgments of the end of days are, and who have not prayed this prayer in earnest: Dear Lord, IN THE DAY OF YOUR WRATH, REMEMBER MERCY! We are living in the midst of dire and difficult days, to say the least, for lawlessness and perversion are rampant everywhere we look. But let our prayer emphasis change from, God look at all the evil that is all around us, when are You going to judge it? To the New Testament revelation that says, the more that sins abo unds, the more that the grace of God abounds. Let us see what is going on all around us as an opportunity to usher in the grace of God. And we can pray that prayer "in wrath remember mercy" sincerely, only if we have felt the heart of God in this matter. For our God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. That is why Jesus went to the cross. Back to End Times Teachings

  • A SPIRIT OF DEEP SLEEP | HoFM

Top of Page OTHER TEACHINGS A SPIRIT OF DEEP SLEEP HOVERS OVER AMERICA Isaiah 29:10 “For the Lord has poured out on you the spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes, namely, the prophets; and He has covered your heads, namely, the seers.” These are indeed difficult times for the faithful here in America, it does not take a political or economic expert to realize that our nation is in great trouble. Morally speaking it’s even worst, we are bitterly divided, and have lost our sense of direction, and it does not look as if it’s going to get better anytime soon. In our Scripture it declares that a spirit is the culprit, a spirit of deep sleep. Now within the context, Isaiah is speaking to Jerusalem, the city of David. But within the greater context, Isaiah’s prophecy can be applied to any great nation that has lost its moral compass. Is there any doubt about America’s greatness? Surely not. Is there any doubt that America has lost her sense of direction? Not from where I’m standing. In this chapter Isaiah is lamenting about the blindness that is caused by disobedience. When persons as well as nations betray the founding principles upon which they were called and/or built, they become blinded to their mission, and become bitterly divided within themselves. The question that I asked when I first read our Scripture, was basically this, what came first? The spirit of deep sleep that closed the eyes and covered the heads of the seers. Or was it the silence of the prophets and seers that allowed the spirit of deep sleep to enter? Some may say, it does not matter at this point. But for me it is important to know, because it is through understanding that wisdom materializes, and it is wisdom that affords us a way of escape, if there is one to be found. Isaiah 29:9 “Pause and wonder! Blind yourselves and be blind…” Let us pause and wonder here for a moment. How does a nation blinds itself? By refusing to follow its destiny! Here is where I, as a Christian, disagree with many secular conservative pundits. America is a great nation not because of the many great men and women of her illustrious history, who had great forth sight into the founding and direction that this nation was to follow, and we did have them, thank God. But that is not why America is a great nation, America was destined to become a great nation by God, and I maintain, that the founding fathers knew that, and that is what made them great, they understood the will of God for the nation that they were founding. Isaiah 29:13 “Therefore the Lord said: ‘Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me, and their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men.’” Have you notice how politicians here in America, after giving some great speech to their constituencies always seem to end with the phrase; God bless America. They honor God with their lips, but they really do not desire God’s will for America in their own hearts. If they did, they wouldn't be doing the things that they do behind our backs. Isaiah 29:15 “Woe to those who seek deep to hide their counsel far from the Lord, and their works are in the dark; they say, ‘Who sees us?’ and, ‘Who knows us?’” If there is a price for a Bible verse that most reveals how our political process works now days in America, I think I have the winning entry. What was it that the former speaker of the house once said? You have to pass the bill if you want to find out what’s in it. We are finding out alright, and it's not good, so, is par for the course. But here is where we really get into trouble; Fear toward Me (this is what God says) is taught by the commandment of men. Today, morality in America is taught by those whose hearts are far from God. The entertainment industry, whose primary goal is to please their audiences and to make money, are the main drivers of our present-day culture. Pundits who are more worried about ratings than what God says, are telling us, Bible thumping does not work, basically they are saying, keep your God out of it, after all we have made our own moral codes and they are based on the commandments of man, passed by legislators and judges who do their best works in secret, out of the people’s eyes. So, if in spite of all these facts , the citizens of America decide to follow their counsel, then, blind yourselves and be blind! Isaiah 29:14 “Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvelous work among this people, a marvelous work and a wonder; for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden.” This is how we can confirm that our nation is under a spirit of deep sleep; there is no one left on the scene that is wise or prudent enough to get us out of the mess we are in. The more they try, the deeper in the hole we get, is almost like quicksand . Every time we try to make our situation better by some legislative maneuver, it seems to work against us, and it just makes it worst, we just keep getting deeper in debt. Isaiah 29:8 “It shall be even as when a hungry man dreams, and look—he eats; but he awakes, and his soul still empty; or as when a thirsty man dreams, and look—he drinks; but he awakes, and indeed he is faint, and his soul still craves: so the multitude of all the nations shall be, who fight against Mount Zion.” Boy it cannot get any more real than what the Lord says; its like living in a dream, isn’t that what happens when you are under the influence of a spirit of deep sleep? We kid ourselves that everything is going to be alright in spite of the mess we are in, we believe it, and reassure ourselves of what we believe, but then we wake up and look at the facts, and man, it keeps getting worse, how is that for reality? One of two things will happen to us, either we as a nation wake up and repent, and ask the Lord to forgive us for deviating from the destiny for which He created America, or the Lord returns and takes the faithful away while He judges the ungodly for their ungodly acts that they have committed. Which one will it be? Well, if we repent this is what will happen: Isaiah 29:24 “These also who erred in spirit (of deep sleep) will come to understanding, and those who complained will learn doctrine.” What a beautiful promise, but here is the key; we have to come to an understanding of the truth before we can learn doctrine. Is America a special nation that God ordained to shine His light during trouble times? Yes, that is the truth! Is America currently living up to the founding principles for which God created her? No she is not, and that’s the truth! What if we do not repent as a nation? Isaiah 29:6 “ You will be punish by the Lord of hosts with thunder and earthquake and great noise, with storm and tempest and the flame of devouring fire.” The choice is clear, and no matter which pundits approve or disapprove, or what politicians or other groups are offended by our stance, our foundation is in the Bible and the confidence that we have on the inerrancy of the Holy Scriptures. Let not our speech be timid, for we have the truth on our side, so let us proclaim it boldly, for we do love this nation, and when we ask God for His blessings upon America is not a slogan that we say to incur favor with people; it flows out of a deeply thankful heart that realizes that without God’s favor upon them, the nations languish in spiritual darkness until they perish from the face of the earth to be no more. • THEY WILL MINGLE WITH THE SEED OF MAN | HoFM House of Faith Ministries

Top of Page End Times THEY WILL MINGLE WITH THE SEED OF MAN Daniel 2:43 “As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay.” In this fascinating verse from Daniel’s writings we are presented with an end time mystery that has baffled many theologians for centuries; who did Daniel mean by they will mingle, when speaking about creatures that will be interacting with the humans that will be alive during the times of the end? They, within the context, seems to imply creatures of non-human origin, since the seed of man is a phrase that its used to represent the entire human race, literally it is saying that, they, non-humans will mingle with humans, or try to mingle, for Daniel says that they will not succeed. What other non-human creatures are there that have intelligence, personality, a desire for human likeness, and interact with the human race in a regular basis? Demonic entities! Since the days of the fall of Adam, the devil has been working hard to change the human race, his aim is to reengineer humans to be earthly vehicles that his demonic hordes can use to conquer and rule the earth with; since demons are spirits and the earth’s environment requires a physical body to operate within it, the demons cannot physically conquer our tangibly based human realm unless they possess a physical body. Genesis 6:4-5 “There were giants (nephillim, which means fallen or fallen mighty ones) on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God (a reference to non-human spiritual creatures, angels or demons) came into the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown (famous for their supernatural abilities). Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” We see that before the days of Noah the devil was hard at work in his endeavor to rule and govern the earth through hybrids who were void of conscience, and endowed with superhuman abilities, ruthless, and hell bent on the subjugation and destruction of the entire human race. If we want to know how that scenario applies to us today, then we need to understand what took place back them, because as Jesus tells us: Matthew 24:37-38 “But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark.” Basically, Jesus is telling us that if we want to understand how the end of our present age is going to come about, we can read about the conditions that prevailed during the prelude to the flood, and draw a comparison with the conditions that will exist in the earth before He returns to once and for all put an end to all demonic tampering with the human race. When the sons of God came into the daughters of men and they bore children to them. The sons of God is a reference to non-human spiritual creatures, that can be applied to angels or demons. Just like the phrase, the seed of men is a phrase that applies to the entire human race, good or bad. Our first problem that we need to solve is that these spiritual creatures came into the daughters of men and they bore children to them. So here we have what our opening Scripture was describing, they will mingle with the seed of men. Our problem has to do with the mechanics of how does a spiritual creature that does not have a physical body impregnates a physical human woman? One possibility is that, since spirits can transform themselves and take a human form, for we know from the Bible that God’s holy angels have that ability, that somehow, that is how those women were impregnated. Reason does not allow me to believe that, for if that were the case, then the fallen angels wouldn’t need physical bodies to exercise their rule over our physical realm, they could just take any shape they desire and be done with it, I mean, if they can transformed themselves into a physical body that can get a woman pregnant, then they could kill any body they wanted to, for if they can produce life, they can also take it. Matthew 22:30 “For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven.” Jesus makes it clear that once we are resurrected from the dead, even with our new physical bodies, we will not have the ability to reproduce, for our new physically eternal bodies will be like that of the angels that do not reproduce. If you are a spiritual entity without the capability to reproduce physically, how do you get a woman pregnant with your own seed? My best guess is, through artificial insemination. Genesis 6:2 “That the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful (good, a good, good thing); and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.” In the original Hebrew in the Strong’s concordance, the word translated beautiful comes from # 2896 and it means, good, a good, or good thing. From our male human perspective a woman is a good thing for us, that is if we want to fulfill our desires for a compatible mate that will help us, not only to procreate, but to be our companion for the rest of our lives. From a fallen son of God perspective, a good woman means nothing more than a suitable womb that will allowed them to fertilize it with altered genetic human genes, where they can engineer human physical bodies suitable for their demonic host. You may say that such technical knowledge was not available back them, where do you think our present technological advances in genetic engineering came from? Hitler and his occult obsessed inner circle! The same demons that drove men of old to assist them in recreating the human race after their demonic likeness before the flood, are the very same demons that drove Hitler’s scientists into the great many technological advancements of the twentieth century. One of the dirty little secrets that present day scientists do not want you to know is, that all the research (genetic manipulation) that Hitler’s doctors performed on pregnant women in those concentration camps, especially woman that were pregnant with twins, were the very foundation for many if not all of our present day medical breakthroughs. We are living in the last generation, just like it was before the flood of Noah’s day, they, demonic angels, are busy at preparing for themselves physical human bodies that they can indwell and take over with and rule with their out of this world abilities, you see the obsession in the movies with these super heroes everywhere today. Now Daniel tells us that they will not succeed, but you know that that is not stopping them from trying, and by understanding what is going on, it helps us to understand that we are living in the end of the age. The reason why it will not work is because, they do not have enough time today in a woman’s life span to perfect the monsters that they created in days past. I believe that since women lived life spans of over nine hundred years back then, they were able to impregnate a woman over and over again, each time with a new genetic modification based on what her last offspring lacked. It is believed that this went on for hundreds of years, you add to that the probability of cross breading and you can create almost any monster with the qualifications that you want. Secular human history is full of depictions of the many horrendous creatures that they were able to create, many of them were part animal part human, but their goal was to create physical entities that lacked a conscience, for that is the part of the human soul that allows humans to turn away from their evil ways. Evidently they succeeded for we are told that: Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. The sons of God are spiritual creatures, that means that they are made of air or breath, that is how they indwelled the physical monsters that they created and the physical humans that enabled them. The flood was designed to drown all the contaminated creatures, to rid the earth of these wicked spirits that had found a way to manipulate humankind, and through them to contaminate the entire earth. The longevity of the human race was, I believe, shorten for this very purpose, to prevent them from having the time that was needed for them to perfect these monsters again. To overcome this deficit, the demonic realm is counting on computer technology that will allow them to run all the possible mutations within a computer program, before they introduce their perfected models once again. I believe that this is already taking place in secret laboratories around the world both in humans and animals. One of the signs to look for is that of mutated animals that somehow escaped those places where they were genetically engineered, these mutations are been found more and more often. Many of them are dead, but some are found living in the wild somewhere, any attempt to identify such mutated creatures is quickly done away with and the evidence promptly disappears from public records. Since their, these demonic entities aim, is to contaminate every human on the face of the earth, just like they did in the days of Noah, a computerized network is needed to categorize and analyze as much physical human data as possible. In the last decade we have seen not only the mapping of the human genome, but extensive research into the genetic composition of humans all around the world, including people from remove tribes that live in isolated places. Their greatest achievement will not come out of the monsters that they are so feverishly trying to engineer, but out of their current genetic research, that I believe will allow them to change the genetic human gene that allows our conscience to know right from wrong, once you remove that, like they did during the days of Noah, humanity becomes worthless to God. 1 Timothy 4:1-2 “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron.” When the mark of the beast is introduced, it will be physically branded on the right hand, or on the forehead, this mark will bear the name, or nature of the beast, and the number of his name, his genetic code. That is why those who receive the mark of the beast can never be redeemed, for their consciences will be seared for ever with a demonic genetic code that removes their conscience, their ability to repent. That is what is being perfected right now, that is how close we are to the return of Jesus, for if He doesn't come back soon, the entire human race will be doomed. Genesis 7:1 “Then the Lord said to Noah, ‘Come into the ark, you and your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation.’” Those of us who are covered by the blood of Jesus have been genetically altered, for we are a new creation, our old genes have passed away. 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new.” That is why the antichrist cannot be revealed until we are removed, for once we become born again the devil cannot tamper with our new nature, for it is Christ’s nature, the image of the last Adam that will finally be completed on resurrection day. Friends that is how close we are, by all means make yourself ready, for your sake and for the sake of your household.

  • SPIRITUAL FRUIT | HoFM

Top of Page THE DELIVERANCE MINISTRY SPIRITUAL FRUIT Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness (meekness), self-control. Against such there is no law.” The word fruit is singular, meaning that these nine qualities can only be produced by a person who has had the love of God shed-abroad on their hearts at the moment of their spiritual birth, in other words, unbelievers do not have the capacity to produce spiritual fruit, since they are not born again, or born of the Spirit of God. Galatians 5:24-25 “And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit (if we are born again, or born of the Spirit), let us also walk in the Spirit.” What Paul is trying to teach us here is that we have a unique opportunity, as believers, to take advantage of the deliverance that our salvation has made available to all who believe. In the previous lesson (deliverance is for life, in the deliverance archives) I made the point that Jesus not only forgives us our sins when we confess them before Him in true repentance, but that Jesus is not only just, but able as well, to cleanse us, that is, to deliver us from the consequences of the sins that He forgives us when we truly repent. 1 John 1:9 So that Paul is making the case to the Galatians, that since the Spirit of God’s love abides in them, for without God’s Spirit they could not be saved, why don’t they just continue to follow the spiritual path of love that will eventually lead them to a victorious walk of self-control, which is the goal of the Christian path, that is to overcome our selfish ambitions. Philippians 2:3-4 “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interest of others.” A self-centered person can never truly be delivered, for the Christian battle is always between the spirit of Selfish-Ambitions and the spirit of Self-Control, and a self-centered person can never walk in self-control, for everything in this world is designed to entice the spirit of selfishness that we were all born within our human nature, away from God’s counsel that will lead us into the path of self-control. 1 John 2:15-17 “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” The key phrase here is, the love of the Father, spiritual fruit emanates from the love of the Father, without the love of the Father there is no spiritual fruit, and love for the things of this world will keep us from being delivered from the spirit of Selfish-Ambitions. 1 Peter 1:9 “Receiving the end (goal) of your faith—the salvation (deliverance) of your souls.” The goal of our Christian walk is that of living by the power of the spiritual fruit of Self-Control, for against such there is no law, in other words, there can be no condemnation against us when we are led by the Spirit of God’s love. But remember what Paul said, if we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit, meaning that not all who are born again, that is, they live in the Spirit, are able to walk in the Spirit as well, for they are bound by strongholds that keeps them from walking in the freedom that Jesus has destined for them. What is it that keeps Christians from walking in the freedom of self-control that Jesus has already purchased for them? Jonah 2:8 “Those who regard worthless idols forsake their own Mercy.” Jonah 2:8 “Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs.” NIV Remember that it was Jonah who did not want to go and preach to the city of Nineveh that if they repented, God would forgive them, and because of his rebellion against the will of God, he was taken into the belly of hell itself where he almost perished. Why did he rebelled? Jonah 4:2 “So he prayed to the Lord, and said, ‘Ah, Lord, was not this what I said when I was still in my country? Therefore I fled previously to Tarshish; for I know that You are a gracious and merciful God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, One who relents from doing harm.’” Jonah refused to preach to his enemies because he did not want them to be spared the judgment that they had coming. Knowing that God is merciful, Jonah feared that if he preached to them and they repented, that God would forgive them, as He did. Jonah’s selfish desires got the best of him, for he rather see his enemies perish than forgiven, and it almost cost him his own soul, so that he understood about forfeiting the grace that he had with God. Jesus taught the same principle to us in a parable, so that we understand the dangers of walking in our own selfish interests. Matthew 18:33-35 “Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you? And his master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers (tormentors) until he should pay all that was due to him. So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses.” If we are to fully understand about love and forgiveness, and deliverance and restoration, we have to view them from a spiritual perspective, rather than from our physical perch, and that is because there are demonic forces involved with all of these. The torturers, or tormentors, are the demonic entities that are in place, and they are ready to go, in a moments notice, after those who stray from the path that God has ordained for them to walk in. While in the world, many of us fell prey to their trickery and paid for our sins and mistakes with the loss of something that was near and dear to us, for the wages of sin is death, and many of us became bound to their strongholds that kept us repeating the same sins over and over again. But when we got saved, Jesus delivered us from the path of waywardness and set our feet on the solid foundation of His Word, and put us under His protection and covering. But the deliverance from the strongholds that still remained after our salvation, can only be obtained by the power of His love with which He loved us, working in us and through us, and manifested to others in a way that makes it clear to all the demonic hosts that we understand God’s mercy and His great love and compassion for all humankind. 1 John 4:18-20 “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us (we understand His love for us so that we are able to love Him back, and are able to love others as He loves them). If someone says, ‘I love God,’ and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?” As we learn not to take the offenses that come our way personally, and make it a habit of praying for our enemies and for those whom the Lord places in our path that keep failing others and ourselves, we become spiritual light bearers on behalf of those who are out in no man’s land. Our prayers for them becomes a temporary covering, like the one that God provided for the prophet Jonah as He was dealing with Jonah’s rebellion, that way, the demonic tormentors are limited in what they are able to do against those we are praying for, and when the Lord knows that they are ready, He will remove the temporary covering that He placed over them through our ministry of intercession and reveal to them His love for them and the way of their salvation. Jonah 4:6-11 “And the Lord God prepared a plant and made it come up over Jonah (a temporary spiritual covering), that it might be shade for his head to deliver him from his misery. So Jonah was very grateful for the plant. But as morning dawned the next day God prepared a worm, and it so damaged the plant that it withered. And it happened, when the sun arose, that God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat on Jonah’s head, so that he grew faint. Then he wished death for himself, and said, ‘It is better for me to die than to live.’ Then God said to Jonah, ‘Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?’ And he said, ‘It is right for me to be angry, even to death!’ But the Lord said, ‘You have had pity on the plant for which you have not labored, nor made it grow, which came up in a night and perished in a night. And should I not pity Nineveh, that great city, in which are more than one hundred and twenty thousand persons who cannot discern between their right hand and their left—and much livestock?’” Jonah had such a tremendous stronghold of hatred towards the people of Nineveh that he was angry enough to die for a plant that offered him a temporary covering, while he waited to see if God would destroy the city that he hated and did not want to see delivered. The fact that God uses the number one hundred and twenty thousand, connects it to the church age, for there were about one hundred and twenty disciples gathered together in one accord when the Holy Spirit fell on them. Is there a hidden lesson here for the church of Jesus Christ? Let us keep it personal; is there a hatred so deep within you against someone or something, that you are willing to forfeit the grace that you have in Jesus just to get revenge? I pray not! But if you have a stronghold of prejudice in your life against someone who has hurt you, you need to bear it no more, ask the Lord to deliver you, pray for His revelation to show you the spiritual condition of those who betrayed your trust, and know for a fact that all your trespasses He has gladly forgiven you. If you cannot find the capacity within you to love and to forgive those who spitefully used you and abused you, I have good news for you, He will give you a new heart, just let the old one go. Get on the floor, with your face pressed hard against it, and picture yourself at the feet of Jesus, and there cry out to Him; Lord! Have mercy on this lost and broken sinner, and there at the foot of the cross, leave that old broken and hardened heart once and for all, and before you get up you will be renewed, for He is a merciful God, and He will not turn you away. To be sure, you will not be the first nor will you be the last to be delivered by the power of an all loving and merciful God. Jonah 2:2 “...I cried out to the Lord because of my affliction, and He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol (hell) I cried, and You heard my voice.” Back to Deliverance Ministry

  • THE EYES OF FAITH | HoFM

Top of Page OTHER TEACHINGS THE EYES OF FAITH Psalm 119:18 “Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your law.” If there were three facets to faith they would be, hearing, seeing, and understanding. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God, but what if we do not understand what it is that we are hearing? It helps if we can see what it is that we are hearing. But even then, if we do not recognize what it is that we are hearing and seeing, then our understanding is still unfruitful. So that faith works something like this: when we read a promise from the Word of God, we hear it, and we know that we heard it because we were able to picture its fulfillment in our mind’s eye, so that we fully understand the fullness of the promise and what it entails. Ephesians 1:8-9 “Which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence (understanding), having made known to us the mystery (He revealed to us that which we could not see at first) of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself.” That is exactly what the Psalmist was praying for in our opening text, he was praying that God would reveal to him the wondrous things that are hidden in the promises of God from our natural human eyes, for the Psalmist believed that by seeing them through the eyes of faith that he would have a better grasp to understanding the promises and receiving their fulfillment in his own life. The enemy of faith is the world! Let me explain: 1 Corinthians 13:13 “And now abide (remain) faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” In the letter to the Hebrews God promises that He is going to shake everything in heaven and earth that can be shaken, so that the only things that remain after the shaking would be those things which are eternal. Hebrews 12:26-27 “Whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, ‘Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.’ Now this, ‘Yet once more,’ indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.” So that after all it is said and done and the final shaking comes, faith will still be standing, that is the faith that is based on the things which are eternal, for all the things which are made will one day be removed. 1 John 2:17 “And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” Faith that is interdependent of things which are made is not real faith, but a counterfeit, and it will not suffice in the hour of testing. Real faith sees the futility of man-made theories and teachings and rejects them outright as nonsense. Psalm 119:19 “I am a stranger in the earth; do not hide Your commandments from me.” The ground on which the Psalmist stood as he asked God to open his eyes of faith, was the fact that he considered himself a stranger to this world system, which is the enemy of real faith. So, then we must ask this question: What is the foundation of real faith? Psalm 119:24 “Your testimonies also are my delight and my counselors.” God’s testimonies are found in His Word, the Bible, and faith is the tool that allows us to hear, see, and understand God’s testimonies. If I may, let me ask you a personal question: On whose counsel do the tenants of your faith rest? My intentions are to provoke you, the reader, to take a healthy look at the condition of your faith right now. We are living in unprecedented times, the longer I live the clearer I see the worldwide conspiracy against the children of faith, we are facing some really powerful forces who are well trained and well equipped to stir doubt and to promote confusion against the Word of God in all levels of society. We better make sure that our faith rests on a solid foundation that cannot be moved no matter how hard they try to move us from our faith. Jude 3-4 “Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.” The tactics that our enemies employ against us are couched within the tenants of reproach and contempt. Psalm 119:22 “Remove from me reproach and contempt, for I have kept Your testimonies.” Contempt comes from without, and reproach comes from within. The world sets the standard, when lawlessness prevails, they treat the children of faith with contempt. When morality prevails, they creep in unnoticed and corrupt the freedoms that moral virtues afford to those who live by then, and through manipulative means of reproach they try to shame those of us who adhere to what is real and lasting faith, by calling us derogative and demeaning names. And as you well know, there is a lot of that going on out there right now against the children of real faith. However, when we keep God’s testimonies, that is we live our lives through the counsel of God’s Word, we become immunized against the effects of the inward reproach and outward contempt that our enemies continuously hurdle against us, for we judge ourselves in Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:15 “But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.” Why does the world hate us so much? Because we believe the Word of God, and as long as we continue to believe in the Word of God, they know that they cannot influence us into their herd mentality. But what they fear more than that is that we become an influence to others, as we expose their manipulative tactics, and it makes their job of leading the world astray much harder as long as we continue to walk by faith in the Word of God. Psalm 119:23 “Princes also sit and speak against me, but Your servant meditates on Your statutes.” The most powerful man in the world, who claims to be one with us in the faith, continuously reproaches the children of faith with derogatory names and personal attacks, even using his great seat of power to deny our constitutional right to free political expression, just as the Word of God predicted three thousand years ago in His Word. How is that for relevancy today. That is why we need to meditate continuously on the clearly defined statutes found in His Word. And if we are having trouble understanding what we see and hear revealed in His Word, then we need to ask Him to open the eyes of our understanding so that we can put our faith and trust in His Truth. Psalm 119:25 “My soul clings to the dust; revive me according to Your word.” The dust is this world system that we have to live in that clings and affects the operation of our souls, for it interferes with our ability to hear, see, and understand through the eyes of faith the promises that we have inherited in the Word of God. Our open rejection of this world system is what opens the door for the revival of our faith that leads the Word of promise right into our hearts. 1 Peter 2:15 “For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men.” Back to Other Teachings

  • The Servant - A Poem from HoFM

POETRY THE SERVANT I am a servant can you see what’s inside deep within me, for I desire to measure up to the call that’s in my heart. In this world there are those who will not bear their cross, they will not bow their knees to the one who sets them free. I don’t want to be like them I don’t mind bearing the pain, as the world rushes by I don’t mind being left behind. If it takes a lot of work, lot’s of toiling and despair, you will find the servant there, faithful to the one who calls. Some pretend to be like him by just acting out some things, but when the going does get hard only servants you will find. Always faithful to their call, hard at work bearing their cross. Minding not who cares or why, they keep on serving out their lives. What about these ones who serve? Is there one who can explain? How can one serve out one’s life just pleasing others instead of "I". If you search deep down inside, you will find there was a time when that servant had a need. Unfilled wanting and desires, no one cared, no one dared, no one spared time to supply him. Then THE SERVANT came along, and whispered words sweet to the ears. If you serve me I will feel your life with very precious tears, of the young ones who have no one, with the pain of lonely ones. I will give you strong big shoulders where my little ones can cry. Oh the joys of been needed outweighs the selfishness of life. Oh the joys of giving pleasures and fulfilling others desires. Yes, it is that joy that fills this empty hole that we call life. Oh that I may serve him faithfully everyday until I die. The Servant by Marcos Marrero Aug. 25, 1997

  • THE SECRET THINGS JUDGMENT | HoFM

Top of Page The Deliverance Ministry THE SECRET THINGS JUDGMENT Ecclesiastes 12:14 “For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.” In this lesson on deliverance we are going to deal with a very interesting subject, the judgment of works. Notice how king Solomon puts the emphasis on the secret things and how they relate to the Day of judgment. So that we are all on the same page, let me first outline the perimeter of what we are talking about in this lesson. 2 Corinthians 5:10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things d one in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” Paul sheds a great amount of light into what king Solomon was teaching. For in the New Testament we learn that there are two judgments, the final or general judgment, and what Paul calls the judgment seat of Christ. If you die in Christ, and by that I mean that you are saved and when you die you go straight to heaven, as it is written: 2 Corinthians 5:8 “...To be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” Then you must appear before the judgment seat of Christ, which is not a judgment of damnation but of rewards or the lack of them. When an unbeliever dies, he goes straight to Hades, which is a kind of an un-finalized hell, for the real hell is the burning lake of fire. Those who are in Hades will not be thrown into the lake of fire until after they face the final judgment, called the great white throne judgment. Which will not take place for at least another thousand years. Revelation 20:11-12 “Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.” The judgment that we are dealing with in this lesson is the judgment of the believers, for that is to whom I am writing this lesson for. So that if you are a believer you need to know how these secret things that will be revealed at the judgment seat of Christ after we die, can be dealt with in the here and now before we die, but first we need to know what they are and how they affect us. If you are not a believer yet, you can become one right now by simply repenting of all your sins and confessing before Jesus that you are a sinner and that you want Him to forgive you of all your sins, and if you truly mean it with your heart, Jesus will forgive you immediately and this lesson will apply to you as well. Now, that was simple! Now that the perimeters are established let us deal with the judgment of the believers. Why is there a judgment seat of Christ for us who believe? 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 “...But let each one take heed how he builds on it. For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day (of the judgment seat of Christ) will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss (lack of reward); but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.” Paul lays it out very clearly, since our salvation is a gift from God, and since the gifts of God are irrevocable: Romans 11:29 , we cannot lose our salvation. However we have the privilege to minister to others the free salvation that our Lord offers to all who believe, and as fellow ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ we become partakers of the rewards of serving Jesus Christ. Romans 8:16-17 “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.” From the time we got saved and for all the things we built our lives around on, we will have to give an account to God. If we live for our own selfish interests after we get saved, those things which we have accomplished will not survive the fire of the judgment Day anymore than wood, hay, or straw, can survive a raging fire storm. However, if we build our lives after we get saved around those things which are eternal, they, like gold, silver, and precious stones, will survive the fire of the Day of judgment and we will get a reward for them. How do I know which one of my deeds will survive the fire and which ones will not? Nothing that we do that flows out of our natural strength, our flesh, will ever survive the raging fire of the Day of judgment, as it is written: Romans 7:18 “For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find.” The only thing that will survive the fire of judgment is spiritual fruit, for the Spirit of the Lord is a consuming fire that will not consume Himself or His own fruit, as it was revealed to Moses at the burning bush. Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law (no law means no judgment).” That is what Paul meant when he said that in his flesh nothing good dwelled, he implied that only that which proceeded from the Spirit of God that was in him, and that saved him, is what counted. Galatians 5:25 “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” Now what about the secret things, what does it mean by secret things? The production of spiritual fruit in us and through us is hindered by those secret things in us that have not yet been exposed to the light of God’s judgment. What are these secret things? They are strongholds within our souls that are yet to be broken down by the Spirit of God, we may be aware of them or we may not, but until they are removed from us, those areas of our lives to which they are connected will not produce sufficient spiritual fruit, because of their hindrance. How can we know if there is a spiritual stronghold within us? Probably one of the easiest ways to know if there is a secret or hidden thing in our souls that is keeping us from producing spiritual fruit is to see which spiritual fruit in us its hindering. For example, let’s start with the first spiritual fruit, the fruit of love, and by asking these questions we will know if we have a stronghold that hinders the way that we are supposed to love: Is my love towards God hindered in any way? Do I love and accept myself the way that God does? Do I love others with the same intensity that I love my self? You’ll be surprised to know how many people have difficulties relating to God from a love perspective. And if we can truly love God, then how can we truly love ourselves, and if we have trouble loving and accepting ourselves, how can we be expected to love others and accept them as they are, for that is how God accepts us, as we are. If my ability to fully and completely love God, my self, and others is blocked, how do I remedy it? John 13:34 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” The Word of God reveals the intensity with which God loves us, as well as the perfection and steadfastness of His love for us. If you do not know God’s love for you is it because you do not know His Word. Jeremiah 23:29 “Is not My word like a fire? Says the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?” The Word of God is not only the hammer that breaks down the hidden strongholds within us, but is also the fire of judgment that cleanses and purifies us while in the here and now. If you have difficulties loving yourself or others, study the love of God revealed to us in His Word, accept it personally, and let it burn away deep within your soul the stains that soiled your soul when the love of others let you down. As it is written: Hebrews 13:5 “...For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’” Hebrews 12:29 “For our God is a consuming fire.” Jeremiah 31:3 “The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.” We can do the same with the rest of the fruit of the Spirit, if you lack joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, read how in the Word of God they all have been made available to us freely, but you have to swing the hammer and light the fire. We need to understand that before we enter into the joy of our Lord all these hindrances are going to be demolish at the judgment seat of Christ. But we do not need to wait until then, we can do it now, so that we are able to serve our King and Savior without hesitation or limitations. Yes, there will be a reward, but it's not the reward that really motivates me, I can just picture the joy in my Lord’s face when in a selfless act one of my actions causes one of His lost children to return home to Him. Oh, what a privilege it is to serve the One who loves me so much! Hate, fear, doubt, unbelief, are all the result of us not understanding the fullness of God’s love for us, why don’t you start there, in God’s love, take whatever hate remains in your soul and break it to pieces with the hammer of God’s Word, then set it on fire and let the wind of the Spirit of God remove it from you as far as the east is from the west. James 4:8 “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. The cure for double-mindedness is the surety of the promises that are found in the Word of God. Remember that the salvation of others may depend in you being able to break down some of the strongholds that keep you tied down today, if you can or won’t do it for yourself, will you do it for them? James 5:19-20 “Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.” Back to Deliverance Ministry

  • NO FEAR OF GOD IN THE LAND | HoFM House of Faith Ministries

Top of Page Top of Page OTHER TEACHINGS NO FEAR OF GOD IN THE LAND Written by Pastor Marcos Marrero Published on 10/16/22 Amos 6:3 “Woe to you who put far off the day of doom, who cause the seat of violence to come near.” One of the meanings for the word Fear is to have a Reverential awe towards God! Instinctively we know that God is both—the Creator and the Judge. We are also able to comprehend that after death we have to face our own personal judgment before God. But in a grander scale we also—by way of instinct—realize that all of humanity will at one point come to its final conclusion. Ecclesiastes 12:14 “For God will bring EVERY WORK INTO JUDGMENT, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.” Capitals in the Scriptures added by me for emphasis. This reverential awe towards our Creator has been written within our genetic code. The spiritual dynamics of Love and Hate and of Good and Evil are also written within our genetic code. What does it all means? MORTALITY verses IMMORTALITY! Ecclesiastes 8:8 “No one has power over the spirit to retain the spirit, and no one has power in the day of death. There is no release from that war, and wickedness will not deliver those who are given to it.” No one can stop themselves from dying because we cannot retain our spirit to keep it from leaving us. What that means is that our spirits are immortal, and when we die it leaves us and returns to God who gave it to us in the first place. Ecclesiastes 12:7 “Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.” There is a war however, between our spirit and our flesh or between mortality and immortality; and no one is released from that war until the day we die and face that final Judgment. Hebrews 9:27 “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.” The verse: Wickedness will not deliver those who are given to it; this is a reference to our souls which are immortal as well, but have been corrupted by wickedness and thereby in need of deliverance before we face the final judgment after we die. Ecclesiastes 9:5 “For the living know that they will die; but the dead know nothing, and they have no more reward…” Provision has to be made for our souls before we die and face the judgment. How do we do that? We have to believe that only God has the power to condemn or to free our souls while we are alive, if we wait until after we die it is too late. Today is the day of salvation do not put it off. Mathew 10:28 “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather FEAR (have a Reverential awe towards God) Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Mathew 11:29 “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Rest for our souls can only be found in the atoning blood of Jesus and can only be received by faith as we believe in our hearts that God raise Jesus from the dead and confess with our mouths that He is our Lord. Romans 10:9 “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, YOU WILL BE SAVED (your soul will be delivered from hell).” Now concerning the spiritual dynamics between Good and Evil and Love and Hate; when there is a healthy respect or godly fear of the law of God and of the final judgment, society functions on the premises that Love is Good and that the government’s concerns is for the well being of those they rule over; even within the enforcement of justice. Grace is the overall goal or remedy, that as long as there is life there is the hope for redemption for every lost soul. The nations whose governments functioned under the guidance of Judeo Christian values enjoyed by far the most liberty and prosperities ever known in the history of man. Psalm 2:1-3 “Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His anointed, saying, let us break Their bonds in pieces and cast away Their cords from us.” We are living in the presence of this prophecy being fulfilled, as one by one all the nations of the free world have turned their backs on the biblical principles that made them free and prosperous. What are the spiritual implications that we are experiencing as a result of their rebellion? We are in the transition of leaving behind love for what is good and entering into the depravity of hateful evil. The nations have fallen for the demonic delusion of good is bad and bad is good. 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 “The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the LOVE OF THE TRUTH, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that THEY ALL may be CONDEMNED who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” Remember the Scripture that said: “There is no release from that war, and wickedness will not deliver those who are given to it.” Also, we see in our opening Scripture that as this transition is taking place it has repercussions upon the inhabitants of this earth: “Who cause the seat of violence to come near.” The seat of God’s judgment day gets closer and closer the more and more that wickedness increases on the land. But God is looking for repentance, a turning away from evil. Amos 5:4, 6 “For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel: Seek Me and live. 6) Seek the Lord and live, lest He brake out like fire in the house of Joseph and devour it…” In the absence of a world-wide revival that would bring most of the nations of the world to their knees in true repentance—sad to say—this is it! The signs that we are rushing head long into the end of days are overwhelming. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 “BUT KNOW THIS, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. AND FROM SUCH PEOPLE TURN AWAY!” How do we keep ourselves from falling for this great delusion? Remember always the spiritual dynamics that are involved in what is taking place. Love vs. Hate and Good vs. Evil. We must resist the temptation to give into the rage of hate, by keeping God’s Word alive in our hearts: Always abiding in the love of God that preserves us. Habakkuk 3:2 “O Lord, I have heard Your speech and was afraid; O lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known; IN WRATH REMEMBER MERCY.” 1 Peter 4:7-8 “But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. And ABOVE ALL THINGS have fervent love for one another, for love will cover a multitude of sins.” As long as our moral compass is anchored in the love of God, we will always have a firm grip on reality and a firm hold on to what is good and thereby refrain from that which is not. Romans 12:1-2 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be COMFORMED to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that GOOD and acceptable and perfect will of God.” We can then see that Hate and Evil always go hand in hand, we cannot have one without the other. Hatred is the personification of evil itself, we should never give in to the venom of hate. 1 John 4:19-20 “We love Him because He first loved us. If someone says, ‘I love God,’ and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?” Every time that we express God’s love and goodness to others we are insulating ourselves from the toxicity of hate and evil. Such is the work of the spiritual dynamics between Love and Good. Psalm 85:10-12 “Mercy and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed. Truth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from heaven. Yes, the Lord will give what is GOOD; and our land will yield its increase.” Here we see the same spiritual dynamics at work, but this time for the Good of all mankind. The truth that springs upward from the earth is our faith in the Word of God, and heaven’s response is righteousness rained down from heaven upon us who faithfully believe and wait fervently for His appearing. Here is a prayer of gratitude from one of His maidservants: Luke 1:46-55 “And Mary said: My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; for behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed. For He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name. and His mercy is on those who FEAR (have a Reverential awe towards God) Him from generation to generation. He has shown strength with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He has put down the mighty from their thrones, and exalted the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich He has sent away empty. He has helped His servant Israel, in remembrance of His mercy, as He spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his seed forever.” Back to Other Teachings

  • JERUSALEM THE CITY OF TRUTH | HoFM

Top of Page END TIMES TEACHING JERUSALEM THE CITY OF TRUTH Zechariah 8:3 “Thus says the Lord: I will return to Zion, and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be called the City of Truth, the Mountain of the Lord of hosts, the Holy Mountain.” There are things that men and nations do that are in direct violation of the Word of the Lord, but as with everything else that the Lord does, He is longsuffering toward the nations and peoples that sin against His Word. He lets their own sinful ways catch up with them so that they all eventually end up in the misery because of their disobedience and rebellion against His Word. But when the actions of the nations and of the peoples interfere with the plans that the Lord has, and there are no nations here on earth left to make a way for the plans of the Lord to come to fruition, then the Lord intervenes directly, for as it is written: Isaiah 46:10 “...My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure.” In our opening text God makes a threefold declaration about what His plans are for Israel, and for Jerusalem in particular during the end of the age, for these are the days in which we are living right now. Jesus prophesied that Jerusalem and the temple would be destroyed and that the Jews would be scattered and persecuted throughout the world. It happened just as Jesus prophesied, the temple that took almost forty years to build and that was expected, at the time that it was built, to last for centuries, was gone in a fraction of the time that it took to be built. Matthew 24:2 “And Jesus said to them, ‘Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down’” This specific prophecy would have been extremely difficult for any reasonable person to believe back then. The temple of Jesus’ day took forty years to build, and it cost a great amount of treasure, it took a great deal of labor to build it, and on top of that it was built with the blessings of the Roman empire, whose reign lasted for centuries. But the generation that heard that prophecy lived to see its fulfillment. It was also prophesied that the nation of Israel would be restored once again at the end of days. No other nation in the history of the world that disappeared from being a nation for nineteen hundred years ever became a nation again, but Israel did, with the same language, the same traditions, on the same land, and with the same capital that they had when they ceased to be a nation. That’s because God’s counsel will stand! Matthew 18:20 NKJV For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there in the midst of them. In the mouth of two or three witnesses a matter is established. It is interesting that in our opening text God makes a threefold prophecy concerning the nation of Israel and the Jerusalem of our present day. This is what Jesus says about the present-day nation of Israel and its capital, the city of Jerusalem: I will return to Zion, and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Do you see any ambiguity in that statement? The Word that prophesied the destruction of the nation of Israel, is the same Word that prophesied its restoration, and is the same Word that says that He is returning to Zion, and that He is going to dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Let’s face it, Jerusalem is not going anywhere any time soon, and anybody or any nation that works against Israel or Jerusalem to keep them from becoming what the Word of God says it will become in these end times, is going to be broken by the Almighty God who watches over His Word to fulfill it. Zechariah 12:3 “And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.” Our present-day Iran is hell bent in the destruction of the nation of Israel, and like Hitler, Iran’s final solution for the Jewish people is to eradicate them from the face of the earth. To this end, they are heavily invested in building enough nuclear weapons so that they can bring their demonic desires about, the destruction of the nation of Israel. A group of leaders representing a majority of nations, under the leadership of the president of the United States, just gave Iran a clear path to their goal of having the right to make the elements required for building the bombs that they will need to carry out their destruction. Iran knows that if they attack Israel with nuclear weapons that they themselves will be destroyed as well, but what their religion teaches them is that if they destroy the Jewish people, their messiah will come and deliver them from Israel’s wrath. Remember that these are the people that believe that suicide against the Jews is a way to attain immortality. But this is what the Word of God says is happening to the nations that are conspiring to bring about the destruction of the nation of Israel. Zechariah 12:4 “In that day, says the Lord, I will strike every horse with confusion, and its rider with madness; I will open My eyes on the house of Judah, and will strike every horse of the peoples with blindness.” What was the second thing that our opening Scripture declared that God would do in these end times? Jerusalem shall be called the City of Truth. Truth is reality. These nations and their leaders that are so blinded by their prejudices against the Jews and Jerusalem are soon going to find out the cold hard truth: That God is real, that Jesus, His Word, is coming soon to establish His rule here on the earth, and that God’s will shall stand no matter what the nations do. Psalm 2:1-12 “Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His anointed, saying, ‘Let us break Their bonds in pieces and cast away Their cords from us.’ He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; the Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure: Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, You are My Son, today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel. Now therefore, be wise, O kings; be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.” The root of the hatred against Israel is the fact that the nations of this world do not want to have to answer to the Word of God for their actions. For them rejection of Israel is an open rebuke and rejection against God that is why they say, let us break Their bonds in pieces. The Lord shall hold them in derision. Once the nations of the world cross the line, where they reject Israel for the sake of rejecting God, that God strikes them with confusion and madness. The question that we need to ask ourselves right now is, Did the nations gathered in Geneva crossed that line with the treaty that they just made? Here is a Scripture that may apply to what just happened over there: Zechariah 8:7 “Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Behold, I will save My people from the land of the east and from the land of the west.’” Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion. Notice the word yet, that means that in spite of what the nations of the east and the nations of the west did, God’s counsel, His Word will stand. And what is that Word? I will give You the nations for Your inheritance. Whether they like it or not, the earth is the Lord’s as well as everything in it, that includes the nations and all of the peoples of the earth, and this is the advice that the Lord gives to the leaders of these nations: Now therefore, be wise, O kings; be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. The third thing that the Lord revealed in our opening Scripture was: The Mountain of the Lord of hosts, the Holy Mountain. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of God’s throne, the kings and the judges of this world system do not rule supreme, all their despicable acts and rules with which they have corrupted the world with will have to be accounted for. Let us pray that our nation will be one of the ones that will repent before the Lord, for the sake of us all. Zechariah 8:22-23 “Yes, many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the Lord. Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘In those days ten men from every language of the nations shall grasp the sleeve of a Jewish man, saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.”’” Can you believe that! It will happen, after all our God is a God of miracles, all we need to do is to continue to pray for our nation and for the peoples of the nations, for it is only through prayer and intercession that we know our Lord will hear us and move to bless us in the midst of all this chaos. While the nations rage, let us pray! Back to End Times Teachings

  • SPIRITUAL DARKNESS | HoFM

Top of Page THE DELIVERANCE MINISTRY SPIRITUAL DARKNESS Matthew 6:23 “But if your eye is bad (evil, or in poor condition), your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!” There are some great insights about spiritual darkness in our opening verse. First Jesus tells us that the condition of our spiritual eyes is critical for the wellbeing of our entire body. The great second insight that I find is when Jesus refers to the darkness in an individual as if the light that is in you is darkness, referring to darkness as a type of light. Let us deal first with the spiritual condition of the eyes for they have a direct effect on the body, be it positive or negative. 1 John 2:16 “For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.” There are three major unclean spirits that work together to bring the entire person into spiritual darkness, these three spirits work in tandem in order to suppress and/or to pervert the higher calling of God for man. Since we are all descendants of Adam whose flesh was corrupted by the spirit of the lust of the flesh, all of us humans are born with the spirit of lust within us, also known as selfish-ambition, so that the propensity for sin is already in us. But thankfully God has blessed us with cognition, we are born with the natural ability to understand right and wrong, so that when we are tempted by our selfish desires, we have built in discernment that allows us to weigh out the possible consequences of our actions. The lust of the eyes is an external spirit, always operating from the outside trying to get in, in order to do so it has to connect with its kindred spirit, the spirit of the lust of the flesh that dwells in the inside and who is able to open the door to the external spirit that wants to come in. A bad spiritual eye, or an eye that is evil, is in no condition to recognize the spirit that lurks behind the temptation that its being tempted with, so that it cannot fully weigh the consequences of its indulging in the lust that its being offered. A good eye will always caution the person as to what is really at stake if it proceeds to indulge in the temptation. A good example would be that of a person being offered drugs for the first time; the temptation is the experience of a very personal internal high that is attained through the intake of external things, like the ingesting of drugs that alter a body’s normal functions. The effects of the drugs eventually wear out, but the spirit behind it stays in, and it becomes the force that eventually compels that person to continuously seek another, and another external fix to which it becomes addicted. A person with good spiritual eyes has the ability to weigh properly the consequences of its actions. Spiritual vision is the ability to foresee that which at the present is invisible. Let me use the same example, let’s say that a person is offered drugs for the first time, who is aware of the ruinous consequences that drugs can have in a person’s life, no matter how alluring that temporary high may sound, a person in the right frame of mind would immediately say; it is not worth it! Matthew 6:22 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good (clear or healthy), your whole body will be full of light (full of a clear and healthy understanding).” Our inabilities to understand the spiritual consequences of our actions is what plunges us into the realm of spiritual darkness. The lust of the eyes is always hard at work to deny the reality of the truth so that it can join forces with the spirit of the lust of the flesh. But there is a third spirit whose work keeps in bondage those who fell into the original deception. So that those who were originally deceived are now kept in the chains of darkness by its power, this spirit has to be defeated if they want to be made free again. Matthew 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Now we are dealing with the third and most deadly of the three, the spirit of the pride of life and it resides deep within the heart of man. It is the folly of a man that ensnares him, but it takes his pride to keep him bound. When a man replaces the light of sound judgment with the darkness that he calls light, because he is too proud to admit that he did wrong deep in his heart, that type of blindness is what is called spiritual darkness. I've been using common illustrations to portray spiritual realities here, but it is not sins or addictions that we are dealing with in this lesson, but rather, the issues here are, light which represents God’s enlightenment, and darkness which is represented by the pride of the wisdom of man. We are in the midst of spiritual warfare, there is an ensuing battle that has raged on for thousands of years, this war is being fought by the forces of darkness against the forces of light. It is not fought with carnal weapons, it is a fight between truth and lies, our mightiest of weapons is the truth of the Word of God which always defeats the lies of the enemy. Those who walk in spiritual darkness are prisoners of war who have been taken captive by the devil to do his will. Those who walk in the spiritual enlightenment of the Word of God are like mighty warriors who conquer the strongholds of the enemy and set the captives free. Who are the captives? Ephesians 4:17-18 “This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their (spiritual eyes) heart.” In times of war there should be no room for pride for it is pride, the pride of man, that blinds the human heart to the wisdom of God’s Word. The pride of a religious mindset can blind its followers to the truth of God’s Word. The pride of religious traditions can blind the minds of its followers to the truth of God’s Word. The pride of religious status, commonly known as the praise of man, can blind the minds of its recipients to the truth of God’s Word. Anything that has been corrupted, of which we are a part of somehow, if we fail to recognize the corruption and do not make every effort to alienate ourselves from it, will surely cause our minds to be blinded to the truth of the Word of God, and we do not want that. Ephesians 5:6-8 “Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them. For you were once darkness, but now your are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.” Here is what I am trying to say, stay away from compromise; spiritual darkness makes its bed in compromise, and once in it your sleep will be nothing but nightmares of darkness and gloom. Is there compromise between light and darkness? How about between truth and lies? When is it okay to discard the wisdom of God for the counsel of man? But yet people do it everyday, I have to believe that it is because they have no clue as to what the will of God is for their lives. Ephesians 5:17 “Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” If we walk in the light as He is in the light then we have fellowship with one another, according to 1 John 1:7 But how can we have fellowship with those who walk in spiritual darkness? You see the predicament that walking in spiritual darkness puts the body of Christ in. But the promise is that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from that foul spirit of the pride of life that keeps so many in bondage. 2 Corinthians 7:1 “Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” We cannot cast out the spirit of the lust of the flesh that is attached to our natural selfish desires, so that we will always face temptations while in our mortal bodies. But if we are fully aware of the consequences of giving into the spirit of the lust of the eyes, it makes it easier for us to reject the temptations knowing that we do not want to be in spiritual darkness. Remember that the focus of this teaching is not about our everyday struggles with the flesh, This is a lesson about the spiritual warfare that we are engaged in. In this lesson we are exposing the spirits that want to contaminate your faith by making this a carnal fight. Our bodies already died with Christ on the cross, this is a battle for truth, the truth of the Word of God. It is the enlightenment that comes from the truth that makes the captives free. If you have fallen prey to any of the many facets of the demonic doctrines of man’s wisdom, do not walk in pride, admit that you were deceived and refuse to walk in darkness anymore. Reject compromise and stand in the truth of the Word of God and the truth of God’s Word will be your vindication. Nail the spirit of the pride of life to the cross and it will never bother you again as long as you keep your eyes on Jesus. 1 John 2:5 “But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.” Back to Deliverance Ministry

  • I HAVE CHOSEN | HoFM

Top of Page OTHER TEACHINGS I HAVE CHOSEN Psalm 119:30 “I have chosen the way of truth; Your judgments I have laid before me.” Choice is one of the most, if not the most radical concept that has ever been introduced to mankind. I know that many of us here in the west take this concept of choice for granted sometimes. But if we take a sober look at the history of mankind, we will come to the conclusion that the majority of humanity never had much of a choice as far as to how they wanted to conduct their lives. Even today, there are many that are born in nations that refuse to give them a choice, be it freedom of movement, freedom of religion, or even, economic freedom. If you are born today into a religion that proclaims that to depart from such religion is a crime that is punishable by death, you clearly do not have much of a religious choice, that is, if you want to go on living. You would be surprise to know how many nations today forbid the right of their citizens to choose which God they want to worship. And if you are a Christian in certain parts of Iraq today, you will be forced to renounce Christ and convert to Islam, and if not, you will die, even if your family had lived in those areas as Christians for hundreds of years. That is the history of humanity in a nut shell, seems like there is always somebody who thinks that he knows what is better for everybody else, and for some reason they are the ones that end up with the power to lord it over everybody else. From a biblical perspective let us take a look as to where does the right to choose originate from. Genesis 2:16-17 “And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, ‘Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.’” Even before Eve was created, the first man, who was created in the image of God, was given a choice; everything was made available to him except one, for he was forbidden to partake of the tree of dead. God is sovereign, that means that He does whatever He chooses to do. Adam was created in the image of God, so he was made a sovereign creature. The difference between Adam and God, is that God is Good, so that God can never choose to do wrong, however, even though Adam was made sovereign, he was also naked, that means that he had not yet been clothed with God’s eternal goodness and immortality, since he had not yet partaken of the tree of life, therefore he is forbidden to partake of that which can kill him. But if Adam partakes of the tree of life first, he makes the tree of death obsolete. For the tree of life offers to cover Adam with God’s goodness and immortality. Which by the way is what Jesus covers us with. Romans 13:12, 14 “The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on (clothe ourselves with) the armor of light...But put on (cover ourselves with) the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.” This is why when we are born again, that is Jesus becomes the covering for our nakedness, God considers us good and without sin. 1 John 3:9 “Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed (Jesus our covering) remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.” That is because as far as God is concerned, when we came before His throne and confessed our sins before Him, He killed us, for the soul that sins shall surely die. But since we came before His throne in the name of Jesus, the death of Jesus on the cross is imputed to us, and our sins are forgiven, and Jesus covers us with His goodness and His eternal life. But even after we become born again, we still have to make choices, for as long as we remain in our mortal bodies that we inherited from Adam, we will always be plagued by our propensity to sin. 1 John 1:8 “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” So that from the spiritual perspective God only sees the atoning blood of Jesus when He looks at us, for His seed, God’s Son, remains in us, therefore we cannot sin. But from the physical perspective we still have to make choices, and wrong choices bring bad consequences. 1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light (here is our choice) as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” So that as born-again believers, the choices that we make will determine what our condition will be in any given circumstance. God already made His choice; He chose to love us, for He is love. He provided for us the cleansing agent, which is the blood of Jesus. Now it is up to us to either walk in the light, which is the revelation of His salvation to us, or we can choose to follow after the desires of our flesh, and fall into the other choice that God has made for those who reject His free offer of grace and salvation. Jeremiah 34:17 “Therefore thus says the Lord: ‘You have not obeyed Me in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother and everyone to his neighbor. Behold, I proclaim liberty to you,’ says the Lord— ‘to the sword, to pestilence, and to famine! And I will deliver you to trouble among all the kingdoms of the earth.’” Isn’t it amazing that while the world is seeking to enslave men, and to deprive them of choice, and to keep them captive, God is in the business of freedom of choice. Even when enlightened men, those who should know better, for they have tasted of the freedom that comes from knowing God—turn their backs on God’s grace and love—it is their choice that God gives them the freedom to fall into, no matter how bad their choices are for them. In our opening text, the eight verses of Psalm 119, verses 25–32, correspond with the Hebrew letter Daleth, which means door. A door is a place of entrance, no one can be born again unless he first opens the door of his heart to let the Lord in. Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with me.” So that the choices that we make open doors through which we will have to transverse, whether we like it or not, so that it becomes very important that we understand where the doors lead that we open by the choices that we make. Psalm 119:25 “My soul clings to the dust; Revive me according to Your word.” We open the door to our Lord’s salvation when we come to the realization that we cannot save ourselves. My soul clings to the dust, so we seek the salvation that is prescribed in God’s Word. How does God Word say that we are to be saved? Psalm 119:26 “I have declare my ways (confessed my sins), and You answered me (You saved me); teach me Your statutes.” Why do we need to learn His statutes? Because our choices open doors, and now that we are saved we do not want to open doors that are not in our best interest. We want to make choices that align with the plans that He has for our lives. Revelation 3:7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, ‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens.’” We want the doors that the Lord opens to remain open, and we want the doors that the Lord closes to remain close. In order for that to happen we need to learn His statutes and make the choices that they prescribe. Psalm 119:27 “Make me understand the way of Your precepts; so shall I meditate on Your wonderful works.” Understanding is what we are trying to gain from this lesson. If we can be made vividly aware of the ill consequences of unwise choices, we would think twice before we make them. Do we really want liberty to fall to the sword, to pestilence, and to famine? I say that is not a liberty that I want. O Lord, please close that door and keep me as far away from it as possible! We can only pray that prayer with real faith if we are made aware, that is, we understand the perils that those wrong choices can bring into our lives. Psalm 119:28 “My soul melts from heaviness; strengthen me according to You word.” Imagine that! It seems like the psalmist knew a thing or two about wrong choices, his words seem to cry out, not my will O Lord, not my will, but according to Your Word! Psalm 119:29 “Remove from me the way of lying, and grant me Your law graciously.” A lie is always the perversion of truth. Since we desire the truth of His Word, we need to stay focus on His law, or Word of grace. It is not by works that we have done, but by His grace that we are saved! Psalm 119:31 “I cling to Your testimonies; O Lord, do not put me to shame!” Once the right choice was made in verse 30: I have chosen the way of truth, now we cling to His promised salvation, and as we do, we will not be put to shame. Psalm 119:32 “I will run the course of Your commandments, for You shall enlarge my heart.” What a beautiful promise we conclude with, a heart that is big enough to receive tremendous enlightenment, and yet, a heart that is able to remain humble and accessible to God at all times. I want to be like that! Don’t you? Back to Other Teachings
