  • BABYLON IS FALLEN | HoFM

Top of Page END TIMES TEACHING BABYLON IS FALLEN Here is the chapter from my book Man’s Final Destiny, where I deal with the fall of the great harlot. Revelation 18:1-3 “After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, ‘Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.’” The word “illuminated” indicates that something that had been hidden is now revealed; what’s been revealed here is that the demonic infrastructure that gravitated around the worship of self has been exposed. The demons of commercialism and exploitation that pandered to the corrupt vices of the masses have now been exposed and deposed. The system of false religion and secular humanism that entangled humanity is not needed any more; is abolished in one hour and with them go all the demons that influenced all that selfishness and debauchery. Like a communist dictator, the beast will demand the total and complete sacrifice of his followers, their one and only goal from now on is to be prepared to fight against the Lamb; victory at all cost will be their hopeless cry. Revelation 18:4-8 “And I heard another voice from heaven saying, ‘Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. Render to her just as she rendered to you, and repay her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double for her. In the measure that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, “I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.” Therefore her plagues will come in one day — death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her.’” We need to remember that these die-hards who come out of her now were eyewitnesses to Jesus the Lamb of God coming down on the clouds of heaven and rapturing away the saints, they also lived through the five months of hell on earth and the ministry of the two witnesses. They saw the feet of Jesus split the Mount of Olives and provide a way of escape for the elect, and the raising from the dead of those who chose martyrdom. Why are these die-hards having a change of mind now? The demons that deceived them have been driven out and locked down! For the first time ever or maybe in a long time they now get to see the misery of their condition and repent by refusing to take the mark of the beast. Many of the environmentalists and secular humanists will see for the first time the demons of self-righteousness that were behind all their labors. With these demons out of the way, Satan will demand that they worship and forfeit themselves to him, for it will be known to all, that if they take the mark of the beast they will be with the devil forever. Revelation 18:14 “The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and all the things which are rich and splendid have gone from you, and you shall find them no more at all.” The world’s entire economic system is destroyed in one hour and now they find themselves at the mercy of the beast and will find none. Revelation 18:23-24 “The light of a lamp shall not shine in you anymore, and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in you anymore. For your merchants were the great men of the earth, for by your sorcery all the nations were deceived. And in her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and of all who were slain on the earth” Selfish ambition and its partnership with demonic entities is the root of all bloodshed and the engine for the persecution of the saints who refused to get in bed with the god of this world. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” Here is the chapter from my book that follows after the judgment of the great harlot. Revelation 19:1-5 “After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, ‘Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.’ Again they said, ‘Alleluia! Her smoke rises up forever and ever!’ And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sat on the throne, saying, ‘Amen! Alleluia!’ Then a voice came from the throne, saying, ‘Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!’” When Cain’s non-blood sacrifice was rejected by God, Cain got very angry because of jealousy over his brother, because Abel’s blood sacrifice was accepted. In order to understand all the great rejoicing in heaven over the judgment of the great harlot is imperative for us to see the tremendous influence that the demons behind the door of sin have exerted over all mankind through all the ages. Genesis 4:6-7 “So the LORD said to Cain, ‘Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.’” Sin always has an accomplice which opens a door; a person who does wrong (sins), must go through that opened door, if he or she repents and does the right thing: that is, applies the blood sacrifice (asks God for forgiveness) on the lintel and the two door posts (take our sins to the cross of Jesus for those of us today) of that opened door, then that person will disarm the demon behind the door of his power to harm them, and will gain mastery over that demon. But if pride which is rooted in self righteousness prevents them from repenting and doing the right thing, then those demonic entities will demand blood from them. That is why Cain ended up murdering his brother Abel. All shed human blood, beginning with the righteous blood of Abel and ending with the judgment of the great harlot, is crying out to God for vengeance. God’s judgment is two-fold, he judges the humans first according to the laws that applied to them in the dispensations from which they came. If they repented and made atonement for their sins, God forgives them and raises them up from the dead which was part of their judgment. If they did not repent, then they will remain dead until the final judgment which will take place at the end of one thousand years. But the demonic accomplices of humanity have never been judged yet, because once the person they enticed to sin died, they were free to torment someone else, usually a family member and continued to follow their descendants. Luke 16:27-28 “Then he said, ‘I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house, for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.’” Perhaps the most frustrating thing for the saints in heaven is seeing these demonic creatures wreak havoc upon the whole of humanity with such impunity. These demons would say to Jesus: Have You come to torment us before our time. They knew that as long as man does not apply the blood of Jesus to the open door of sin, they had free range. But finally the hour of their judgment has come: this entity called Babylon the great—false religion, which was their vehicle with which they could operate freely in our earthly dwellings, has now become their eternal prison of torment. At this great sight every heavenly dweller rejoices mightily for the Lord’s vengeance is fulfilled. “He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her. Again they said, ‘Alleluia! Her smoke rises up forever and ever!’” I hope that you are able to read the entire book, and that you are able to gain spiritual inside as to the importance of staying away from participating in spiritual adultery. Isaiah 44:20 “He feeds on ashes (those who participate in the worshipping of worthless idols); a deceived heart has turned him aside; and he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, ‘Is there not a lie in my right hand?’” Jonah 2:8 “Those who regard worthless idols forsake their own Mercy.” Back to End Times Teaching

  • THE FINGER OF GOD | HoFM

Top of Page Top of Page OTHER TEACHINGS THE FINGER OF GOD Written by Pastor Marcos Marrero Published on 7/24/22 Luke 11:20 “But if I cast out demons with the finger of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.” The prophetic ministry of the Old Testament prophets was indeed a powerful one: Through Moses God provided food and water for thousands of Israelites for decades in the wilderness, after parting the Red Sea. Joshua brought down the walls of Jericho with the simple blowing of the trumpets, and in like manner, through many of the prophets and throughout the centuries, God moved in awesome power to demonstrate to the nation of Israel and to the rest of the world that there is no God like Jehovah. But there was one element missing that God withheld from the prophets of old; authority over the underworld or the spiritual dimension, the original dominion that Adam lost over the spiritual realm when he failed to keep God’s Word. Mark 1:26-27 “And when the unclean spirit had convulsed him and cried out with a loud voice, he came out of him. Then they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, ‘What is this? What new doctrine is this? For with authority He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him.’” The defining and distinct difference between the prophets of the Old Testament and the New Testament prophets and saints was the authority given to us over the devil himself. Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Notice that this authority of the finger of God is connected to us trampling under our feet. After recognizing this new dimension of authority in the ministry of Jesus over the spiritual realm, the Pharisees tried to nullify it by declaring the ridiculous idea that Jesus’ power over the demonic realm originated from Beelzebub or Satan himself. Jesus shot this idea down instantly. Luke 11:18 “If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? Because you say I cast out demons by Beelzebub.” It is really hard for us to comprehend the tremendous shift of power that occurred when Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead. When Lucifer was created, he was the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty; he was in Eden the garden of God and clothed with an armor of every precious stone: Ezekiel 28:12-15 . After God kicked him out of heaven and stripped him of his armor, Satan stole from Adam the first human, the dominion that God gave to Adam over the creatures of the sea and the fowls of the air and the cattle of the earth and the creeping things. All symbolic of the spiritual hierarchy that have rule over the earth. When Jesus died on the cross He stripped Satan naked and made a spectacle of him and all his minions. Colossians 2:13-15 “And you, being dead in your trespasses and the circumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him (Jesus), having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwritten of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having DISARMED principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it (the cross).” After Satan’s humiliating defeat on the cross, all that was left to him is the lie that he is the deceiver in chief, and it is of his nature. He is naked and without armor, the only vesture left to him is the cloak of deception. The kingdom of God—the church—which Jesus established right in front of the gates of hell, exists to preach and to practice the Gospel of the kingdom of God with the demonstration of the power of the finger of God to expose and to dispose of demonic deception. Luke 11:23 “He who is not with me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters.” Unity is the key for the exercising of this authority of the finger of God. Satan is a predator, the law of predatory behavior dictates that in order to steal you have to separate and divide. The five fingers on the hand represent the church five-fold ministry: The apostolic, the prophetic, the evangelizing, the pastors and the teaching ministries, all have to be in agreement with the teaching of Jesus, if we are not in agreement with Jesus then we are against Him. The foundation of the authority given to the church is in the victory of Jesus over Satan on the cross; spiritual warfare reveals the manifestation of that power as the church pulls down demonic strongholds over cities, families and individuals. Luke 11:22 “But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils.” That is exactly what Jesus did to Satan on the cross, He overcame him and took away all his armor in which he trusted and then divided the spoils. That is what the churches should be doing today, sadly we are not. How many ministers begin their ministry in the church without a clue in how to drive a demon out of one of their members who is afflicted by the devil, let alone to challenge the principalities that wield power over the geographical areas assigned to their church. Luke 11:24-26 “When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes he finds it swept and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first.” There is a lot to learn from the above three verses about spiritual warfare. Scripture declares that there is no rest for the wicked. A demon without a human host to hide in is in continued torment, seeking rest and finding none. Demons will not stop trying to get a foothold inside a human host. There are ranks in the spiritual dimension and there is unity in their goal to find a place of rest. Interesting that Jesus tells us that demons see the physical bodies of their previous victims as their house. ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ Also, that those who have been delivered from demonic oppression have their house or life swept and put in order only to fall victim again to more and more powerful demonic strongholds. Matthew 12:39-42 “…An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here. The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here.” Jesus taught the above verses in Matthew right before the story about the unclean spirit finding no place of rest and getting higher ranking demons to help him. The truth is that there is no higher-ranking authority than the name of Jesus and that because of what He accomplished on the cross. His name is higher than Solomon’s Jonah’s and everybody else. ALL AUTHORITY is given to Jesus. The sign of Jonah and the finger of God all testify to the authority given to the church in the name of Jesus. Man made religion teaches how to sweep and clean the house. The Gospel of Jesus Christ teaches us how to come to the cross and die daily to self. Psalm 144:1 “Blessed be the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle—My lovingkindness and my fortress, my high tower and my deliverer, my shield and the One in whom I take refuge, who subdues my people under me.” As long us our self-life is prostrated at the foot of the cross—dying to self and living for God—we are protected from the evil one, safe and secure in this hope: Psalm 8:6-8 “You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen—even the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea that pass through the paths of the seas.” The original dominion that God gave to Adam in the Garden has been restored to us through the Last Adam—Jesus—when He rose from the Garden tomb. For our God has given to Jesus a name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow; even those of the highest-ranking creatures in all of the universe, for there is no other name under heaven by which a human can be saved. Psalm 8:3 “When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained.” God’s handy work was demonstrated by Jesus while driving out unclean spirits with the finger of God and after dying for our sins on the cross Jesus completed His handy work by putting everything under our human feet. When Lucifer was created everything that comprised his entire personhood had a beginning. So that when iniquity was found in Lucifer all the wisdom, perfection and beauty that he had been clothed with was removed from him for it was not in his original nature, after he chose to be like God instead of being with God. When God created the physical body of Adam, He used clay to make the shape of the man, but nothing in the clay had, not even a hint of life in it. God had to provide the life for the man that He created, and that life was in the breath of God that went into Adam’s nostrils and became blood in him, for as Moses told us, the life is in the blood. All humans are made in the image of God and worthy of redemption because they carry within them a life that is eternal. The Scriptures teach that the phrase ‘The Finger of God’ refers to something so great and awesome in nature that only an all-powerful and all-knowing God could accomplish. Psalm 150:6 “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!” In your breath is the eternal life that God has given to you and God wants it back, not for Himself for He is not in need of anything. He is a God who loves to add goodness and to multiply blessings to all His children, but first we need to receive Jesus as our Savior so that we will be sure to spend eternity with Him. The life is in the breath and the blood is activated by the words that we confess: Romans 10:9-11 “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, ‘Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.’” Back to Other Teachings

  • SALVATION IS OF THE LORD | HoFM

Top of Page OTHER TEACHINGS SALVATION IS OF THE LORD Psalm 33:18-19 “Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His mercy, to deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.” Without a doubt these are clearly perilous times that we are living in, and I know that there are many people out there who are preparing themselves for the hard times that are swiftly coming upon us. The two basic things that everyone would need in the midst of the breakdown of society’s infrastructure are food and safety. When there are no law enforcement agents available to protect you or your property, your life is in great danger. And even if you are able to hide for a while and survive the first few days of mob rule, you are still going to need food and water to sustain you once you run out of your existing supplies. That is why so many today are storing up ample supplies that would enable them to survive for a longer period of time. But take a good look at the promises of God for those of us who believe in His Word. We are told that He will deliver our lives from death, and that He Himself will keep us alive in the days of famine. What are we to do in the face of all of this? Should I prepare myself by finding a safe place to hide in case of an all out descent into lawlessness? And should I invest in storing enough food and water to keep me and my family fed for a reasonable amount of time if the worst were to happen? I read an article that said that over fifty percent of Americans live from paycheck to paycheck, so that for those who lack the resources to prepare for such a future event, they cannot really do anything about preparing themselves for the chaos which may someday come. Psalm 33:15 “He fashions their hearts individually; He considers (understands) all their works.” The beauty of the Lord is that He understands every single one of us individually, He knows all of our personal needs and what our situation is in any given circumstance. So that when everything is said and done, it does not really matter what situation we might find ourselves in, what is important is that we are trusting Him completely, and not what we prepared or failed to provide for a future day of need, for if we fully trust Him, He will provide for us His salvation. Psalm 33:16-17 “No king is saved by the multitude of an army; a mighty man in not delivered by great strength. A horse (mobility, our ability to escape the chaos) is a vain hope for safety; neither shall it deliver any by its great strength.” There are things that we can do to prepare ourselves for the coming destruction that is going to be revealed one day, but they are not physical things, but rather spiritual. Psalm 33:20 “Our soul (life) waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield.” Since much of the impending doom that is coming our way has to do with the events that will precede the return of Jesus our Savior and Lord, and if our lives are invested in His soon return to deliver us, then we do not fear that which is coming, but rejoice in the fact that His return is getting closer and closer. So that our help and shield are not made of material things that we have stored up, although there is nothing wrong in saving provisions for the day of trouble, as long as we are not putting our trust in them but in the fact that the return of Jesus is getting closer and closer. Psalm 33:21 “For our heart shall rejoice in Him, because we have trusted in His holy name.” We put our trust in the name of Jesus! Why do we trust the name of Jesus? Acts 4:12 “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Jesus is our Salvation, our Redeemer, and our restoration! That is why we trust Him. He is also our Great Deliverer! Revelation 3:10 “Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.” He will keep us from the hour of testing, if we just keep trusting Him, His Word, and His promises, no matter what. Psalm 33:22 “Let Your mercy, O Lord, be upon us, just as we hope in You.” We hope in His mercy to deliver our souls from death, and to keep us alive in famine, not on our own personal plans that we’ve devised ourselves. Psalm 33:10 “The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect.” But there is also another component into what we are learning today, and that is our influence upon others who witness how we have decided to prepare ourselves for the devastation that is coming. Psalm 34:2 “My soul (life) shall make its boast in the Lord; the humble shall hear of it and be glad.” Whether we know it or not, as Christian believers, the world is watching us, they are noticing how we react to all this talk about how the fibers of our present-day society are coming apart at the seams. They are watching us to see whether what we proclaim to believe is real to us or not, by the way that we respond to all the nonsense out there. So that how we prepare ourselves, and how we conduct our lives in the face of so much uncertainty, will be a witness to those around us, if we are truly trusting the promises of God for us, and walking in His peace. Psalm 34:4 “I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.” How can we walk in fear if we are certain that the return of our Lord to deliver us is getting near? For fear has to do with torment, but we walk in love, His perfect love for us, and it is His perfect love for us that casts out all of our fears. 1 John 2:5 “But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.” 1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” So the key in all of this is that when we are trusting in God’s promises so firmly, we will have peace in whatever situation we may find ourselves in, and when we have peace in the midst of the storms of life, those around us will notice and they will be drawn to the Jesus in us who is the author of the peace in which we are walking. Psalm 34:8 “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” As we rapidly approach the inevitable end of the age, we do not really know how things will evolve around us personally, but we have His uncompromising promises to strengthen us, and hopefully we can take advantage of the situation, when things begin to get bad all around us, that we may be able to lead to the Lord those around us who do not know Him yet as their Savior and Lord. Psalm 34:11-14 “Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Who is the man who desires life, and loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.” Let the peace of God flow like a river from deep within you! • The Servant - A Poem from HoFM

POETRY THE SERVANT I am a servant can you see what’s inside deep within me, for I desire to measure up to the call that’s in my heart. In this world there are those who will not bear their cross, they will not bow their knees to the one who sets them free. I don’t want to be like them I don’t mind bearing the pain, as the world rushes by I don’t mind being left behind. If it takes a lot of work, lot’s of toiling and despair, you will find the servant there, faithful to the one who calls. Some pretend to be like him by just acting out some things, but when the going does get hard only servants you will find. Always faithful to their call, hard at work bearing their cross. Minding not who cares or why, they keep on serving out their lives. What about these ones who serve? Is there one who can explain? How can one serve out one’s life just pleasing others instead of "I". If you search deep down inside, you will find there was a time when that servant had a need. Unfilled wanting and desires, no one cared, no one dared, no one spared time to supply him. Then THE SERVANT came along, and whispered words sweet to the ears. If you serve me I will feel your life with very precious tears, of the young ones who have no one, with the pain of lonely ones. I will give you strong big shoulders where my little ones can cry. Oh the joys of been needed outweighs the selfishness of life. Oh the joys of giving pleasures and fulfilling others desires. Yes, it is that joy that fills this empty hole that we call life. Oh that I may serve him faithfully everyday until I die. The Servant by Marcos Marrero Aug. 25, 1997

  • THE SECRET THINGS JUDGMENT | HoFM

Top of Page The Deliverance Ministry THE SECRET THINGS JUDGMENT Ecclesiastes 12:14 “For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.” In this lesson on deliverance we are going to deal with a very interesting subject, the judgment of works. Notice how king Solomon puts the emphasis on the secret things and how they relate to the Day of judgment. So that we are all on the same page, let me first outline the perimeter of what we are talking about in this lesson. 2 Corinthians 5:10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things d one in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” Paul sheds a great amount of light into what king Solomon was teaching. For in the New Testament we learn that there are two judgments, the final or general judgment, and what Paul calls the judgment seat of Christ. If you die in Christ, and by that I mean that you are saved and when you die you go straight to heaven, as it is written: 2 Corinthians 5:8 “...To be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” Then you must appear before the judgment seat of Christ, which is not a judgment of damnation but of rewards or the lack of them. When an unbeliever dies, he goes straight to Hades, which is a kind of an un-finalized hell, for the real hell is the burning lake of fire. Those who are in Hades will not be thrown into the lake of fire until after they face the final judgment, called the great white throne judgment. Which will not take place for at least another thousand years. Revelation 20:11-12 “Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.” The judgment that we are dealing with in this lesson is the judgment of the believers, for that is to whom I am writing this lesson for. So that if you are a believer you need to know how these secret things that will be revealed at the judgment seat of Christ after we die, can be dealt with in the here and now before we die, but first we need to know what they are and how they affect us. If you are not a believer yet, you can become one right now by simply repenting of all your sins and confessing before Jesus that you are a sinner and that you want Him to forgive you of all your sins, and if you truly mean it with your heart, Jesus will forgive you immediately and this lesson will apply to you as well. Now, that was simple! Now that the perimeters are established let us deal with the judgment of the believers. Why is there a judgment seat of Christ for us who believe? 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 “...But let each one take heed how he builds on it. For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day (of the judgment seat of Christ) will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss (lack of reward); but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.” Paul lays it out very clearly, since our salvation is a gift from God, and since the gifts of God are irrevocable: Romans 11:29 , we cannot lose our salvation. However we have the privilege to minister to others the free salvation that our Lord offers to all who believe, and as fellow ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ we become partakers of the rewards of serving Jesus Christ. Romans 8:16-17 “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.” From the time we got saved and for all the things we built our lives around on, we will have to give an account to God. If we live for our own selfish interests after we get saved, those things which we have accomplished will not survive the fire of the judgment Day anymore than wood, hay, or straw, can survive a raging fire storm. However, if we build our lives after we get saved around those things which are eternal, they, like gold, silver, and precious stones, will survive the fire of the Day of judgment and we will get a reward for them. How do I know which one of my deeds will survive the fire and which ones will not? Nothing that we do that flows out of our natural strength, our flesh, will ever survive the raging fire of the Day of judgment, as it is written: Romans 7:18 “For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find.” The only thing that will survive the fire of judgment is spiritual fruit, for the Spirit of the Lord is a consuming fire that will not consume Himself or His own fruit, as it was revealed to Moses at the burning bush. Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law (no law means no judgment).” That is what Paul meant when he said that in his flesh nothing good dwelled, he implied that only that which proceeded from the Spirit of God that was in him, and that saved him, is what counted. Galatians 5:25 “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” Now what about the secret things, what does it mean by secret things? The production of spiritual fruit in us and through us is hindered by those secret things in us that have not yet been exposed to the light of God’s judgment. What are these secret things? They are strongholds within our souls that are yet to be broken down by the Spirit of God, we may be aware of them or we may not, but until they are removed from us, those areas of our lives to which they are connected will not produce sufficient spiritual fruit, because of their hindrance. How can we know if there is a spiritual stronghold within us? Probably one of the easiest ways to know if there is a secret or hidden thing in our souls that is keeping us from producing spiritual fruit is to see which spiritual fruit in us its hindering. For example, let’s start with the first spiritual fruit, the fruit of love, and by asking these questions we will know if we have a stronghold that hinders the way that we are supposed to love: Is my love towards God hindered in any way? Do I love and accept myself the way that God does? Do I love others with the same intensity that I love my self? You’ll be surprised to know how many people have difficulties relating to God from a love perspective. And if we can truly love God, then how can we truly love ourselves, and if we have trouble loving and accepting ourselves, how can we be expected to love others and accept them as they are, for that is how God accepts us, as we are. If my ability to fully and completely love God, my self, and others is blocked, how do I remedy it? John 13:34 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” The Word of God reveals the intensity with which God loves us, as well as the perfection and steadfastness of His love for us. If you do not know God’s love for you is it because you do not know His Word. Jeremiah 23:29 “Is not My word like a fire? Says the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?” The Word of God is not only the hammer that breaks down the hidden strongholds within us, but is also the fire of judgment that cleanses and purifies us while in the here and now. If you have difficulties loving yourself or others, study the love of God revealed to us in His Word, accept it personally, and let it burn away deep within your soul the stains that soiled your soul when the love of others let you down. As it is written: Hebrews 13:5 “...For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’” Hebrews 12:29 “For our God is a consuming fire.” Jeremiah 31:3 “The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.” We can do the same with the rest of the fruit of the Spirit, if you lack joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, read how in the Word of God they all have been made available to us freely, but you have to swing the hammer and light the fire. We need to understand that before we enter into the joy of our Lord all these hindrances are going to be demolish at the judgment seat of Christ. But we do not need to wait until then, we can do it now, so that we are able to serve our King and Savior without hesitation or limitations. Yes, there will be a reward, but it's not the reward that really motivates me, I can just picture the joy in my Lord’s face when in a selfless act one of my actions causes one of His lost children to return home to Him. Oh, what a privilege it is to serve the One who loves me so much! Hate, fear, doubt, unbelief, are all the result of us not understanding the fullness of God’s love for us, why don’t you start there, in God’s love, take whatever hate remains in your soul and break it to pieces with the hammer of God’s Word, then set it on fire and let the wind of the Spirit of God remove it from you as far as the east is from the west. James 4:8 “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. The cure for double-mindedness is the surety of the promises that are found in the Word of God. Remember that the salvation of others may depend in you being able to break down some of the strongholds that keep you tied down today, if you can or won’t do it for yourself, will you do it for them? James 5:19-20 “Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.” Back to Deliverance Ministry

  • NO FEAR OF GOD IN THE LAND | HoFM House of Faith Ministries

Top of Page Top of Page OTHER TEACHINGS NO FEAR OF GOD IN THE LAND Written by Pastor Marcos Marrero Published on 10/16/22 Amos 6:3 “Woe to you who put far off the day of doom, who cause the seat of violence to come near.” One of the meanings for the word Fear is to have a Reverential awe towards God! Instinctively we know that God is both—the Creator and the Judge. We are also able to comprehend that after death we have to face our own personal judgment before God. But in a grander scale we also—by way of instinct—realize that all of humanity will at one point come to its final conclusion. Ecclesiastes 12:14 “For God will bring EVERY WORK INTO JUDGMENT, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.” Capitals in the Scriptures added by me for emphasis. This reverential awe towards our Creator has been written within our genetic code. The spiritual dynamics of Love and Hate and of Good and Evil are also written within our genetic code. What does it all means? MORTALITY verses IMMORTALITY! Ecclesiastes 8:8 “No one has power over the spirit to retain the spirit, and no one has power in the day of death. There is no release from that war, and wickedness will not deliver those who are given to it.” No one can stop themselves from dying because we cannot retain our spirit to keep it from leaving us. What that means is that our spirits are immortal, and when we die it leaves us and returns to God who gave it to us in the first place. Ecclesiastes 12:7 “Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.” There is a war however, between our spirit and our flesh or between mortality and immortality; and no one is released from that war until the day we die and face that final Judgment. Hebrews 9:27 “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.” The verse: Wickedness will not deliver those who are given to it; this is a reference to our souls which are immortal as well, but have been corrupted by wickedness and thereby in need of deliverance before we face the final judgment after we die. Ecclesiastes 9:5 “For the living know that they will die; but the dead know nothing, and they have no more reward…” Provision has to be made for our souls before we die and face the judgment. How do we do that? We have to believe that only God has the power to condemn or to free our souls while we are alive, if we wait until after we die it is too late. Today is the day of salvation do not put it off. Mathew 10:28 “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather FEAR (have a Reverential awe towards God) Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Mathew 11:29 “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Rest for our souls can only be found in the atoning blood of Jesus and can only be received by faith as we believe in our hearts that God raise Jesus from the dead and confess with our mouths that He is our Lord. Romans 10:9 “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, YOU WILL BE SAVED (your soul will be delivered from hell).” Now concerning the spiritual dynamics between Good and Evil and Love and Hate; when there is a healthy respect or godly fear of the law of God and of the final judgment, society functions on the premises that Love is Good and that the government’s concerns is for the well being of those they rule over; even within the enforcement of justice. Grace is the overall goal or remedy, that as long as there is life there is the hope for redemption for every lost soul. The nations whose governments functioned under the guidance of Judeo Christian values enjoyed by far the most liberty and prosperities ever known in the history of man. Psalm 2:1-3 “Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His anointed, saying, let us break Their bonds in pieces and cast away Their cords from us.” We are living in the presence of this prophecy being fulfilled, as one by one all the nations of the free world have turned their backs on the biblical principles that made them free and prosperous. What are the spiritual implications that we are experiencing as a result of their rebellion? We are in the transition of leaving behind love for what is good and entering into the depravity of hateful evil. The nations have fallen for the demonic delusion of good is bad and bad is good. 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 “The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the LOVE OF THE TRUTH, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that THEY ALL may be CONDEMNED who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” Remember the Scripture that said: “There is no release from that war, and wickedness will not deliver those who are given to it.” Also, we see in our opening Scripture that as this transition is taking place it has repercussions upon the inhabitants of this earth: “Who cause the seat of violence to come near.” The seat of God’s judgment day gets closer and closer the more and more that wickedness increases on the land. But God is looking for repentance, a turning away from evil. Amos 5:4, 6 “For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel: Seek Me and live. 6) Seek the Lord and live, lest He brake out like fire in the house of Joseph and devour it…” In the absence of a world-wide revival that would bring most of the nations of the world to their knees in true repentance—sad to say—this is it! The signs that we are rushing head long into the end of days are overwhelming. AND FROM SUCH PEOPLE TURN AWAY!” How do we keep ourselves from falling for this great delusion? Remember always the spiritual dynamics that are involved in what is taking place. Love vs. Hate and Good vs. Evil. We must resist the temptation to give into the rage of hate, by keeping God’s Word alive in our hearts: Always abiding in the love of God that preserves us. Habakkuk 3:2 “O Lord, I have heard Your speech and was afraid; O lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known; IN WRATH REMEMBER MERCY.” 1 Peter 4:7-8 “But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. And ABOVE ALL THINGS have fervent love for one another, for love will cover a multitude of sins.” As long as our moral compass is anchored in the love of God, we will always have a firm grip on reality and a firm hold on to what is good and thereby refrain from that which is not. Romans 12:1-2 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be COMFORMED to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that GOOD and acceptable and perfect will of God.” We can then see that Hate and Evil always go hand in hand, we cannot have one without the other. Hatred is the personification of evil itself, we should never give in to the venom of hate. 1 John 4:19-20 “We love Him because He first loved us. If someone says, ‘I love God,’ and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?” Every time that we express God’s love and goodness to others we are insulating ourselves from the toxicity of hate and evil. Such is the work of the spiritual dynamics between Love and Good. Psalm 85:10-12 “Mercy and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed. Truth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from heaven. Yes, the Lord will give what is GOOD; and our land will yield its increase.” Here we see the same spiritual dynamics at work, but this time for the Good of all mankind. The truth that springs upward from the earth is our faith in the Word of God, and heaven’s response is righteousness rained down from heaven upon us who faithfully believe and wait fervently for His appearing. Here is a prayer of gratitude from one of His maidservants: Luke 1:46-55 “And Mary said: My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; for behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed. For He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name. and His mercy is on those who FEAR (have a Reverential awe towards God) Him from generation to generation. He has shown strength with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He has put down the mighty from their thrones, and exalted the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich He has sent away empty. He has helped His servant Israel, in remembrance of His mercy, as He spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his seed forever.” Back to Other Teachings

  • JERUSALEM THE CITY OF TRUTH | HoFM

Top of Page END TIMES TEACHING JERUSALEM THE CITY OF TRUTH Zechariah 8:3 “Thus says the Lord: I will return to Zion, and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be called the City of Truth, the Mountain of the Lord of hosts, the Holy Mountain.” There are things that men and nations do that are in direct violation of the Word of the Lord, but as with everything else that the Lord does, He is longsuffering toward the nations and peoples that sin against His Word. He lets their own sinful ways catch up with them so that they all eventually end up in the misery because of their disobedience and rebellion against His Word. But when the actions of the nations and of the peoples interfere with the plans that the Lord has, and there are no nations here on earth left to make a way for the plans of the Lord to come to fruition, then the Lord intervenes directly, for as it is written: Isaiah 46:10 “...My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure.” In our opening text God makes a threefold declaration about what His plans are for Israel, and for Jerusalem in particular during the end of the age, for these are the days in which we are living right now. Jesus prophesied that Jerusalem and the temple would be destroyed and that the Jews would be scattered and persecuted throughout the world. It happened just as Jesus prophesied, the temple that took almost forty years to build and that was expected, at the time that it was built, to last for centuries, was gone in a fraction of the time that it took to be built. Matthew 24:2 “And Jesus said to them, ‘Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down’” This specific prophecy would have been extremely difficult for any reasonable person to believe back then. The temple of Jesus’ day took forty years to build, and it cost a great amount of treasure, it took a great deal of labor to build it, and on top of that it was built with the blessings of the Roman empire, whose reign lasted for centuries. But the generation that heard that prophecy lived to see its fulfillment. It was also prophesied that the nation of Israel would be restored once again at the end of days. No other nation in the history of the world that disappeared from being a nation for nineteen hundred years ever became a nation again, but Israel did, with the same language, the same traditions, on the same land, and with the same capital that they had when they ceased to be a nation. That’s because God’s counsel will stand! Matthew 18:20 NKJV For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there in the midst of them. In the mouth of two or three witnesses a matter is established. It is interesting that in our opening text God makes a threefold prophecy concerning the nation of Israel and the Jerusalem of our present day. This is what Jesus says about the present-day nation of Israel and its capital, the city of Jerusalem: I will return to Zion, and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Do you see any ambiguity in that statement? The Word that prophesied the destruction of the nation of Israel, is the same Word that prophesied its restoration, and is the same Word that says that He is returning to Zion, and that He is going to dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Let’s face it, Jerusalem is not going anywhere any time soon, and anybody or any nation that works against Israel or Jerusalem to keep them from becoming what the Word of God says it will become in these end times, is going to be broken by the Almighty God who watches over His Word to fulfill it. Zechariah 12:3 “And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.” Our present-day Iran is hell bent in the destruction of the nation of Israel, and like Hitler, Iran’s final solution for the Jewish people is to eradicate them from the face of the earth. To this end, they are heavily invested in building enough nuclear weapons so that they can bring their demonic desires about, the destruction of the nation of Israel. A group of leaders representing a majority of nations, under the leadership of the president of the United States, just gave Iran a clear path to their goal of having the right to make the elements required for building the bombs that they will need to carry out their destruction. Iran knows that if they attack Israel with nuclear weapons that they themselves will be destroyed as well, but what their religion teaches them is that if they destroy the Jewish people, their messiah will come and deliver them from Israel’s wrath. Remember that these are the people that believe that suicide against the Jews is a way to attain immortality. But this is what the Word of God says is happening to the nations that are conspiring to bring about the destruction of the nation of Israel. Zechariah 12:4 “In that day, says the Lord, I will strike every horse with confusion, and its rider with madness; I will open My eyes on the house of Judah, and will strike every horse of the peoples with blindness.” What was the second thing that our opening Scripture declared that God would do in these end times? Jerusalem shall be called the City of Truth. Truth is reality. These nations and their leaders that are so blinded by their prejudices against the Jews and Jerusalem are soon going to find out the cold hard truth: That God is real, that Jesus, His Word, is coming soon to establish His rule here on the earth, and that God’s will shall stand no matter what the nations do. Psalm 2:1-12 “Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His anointed, saying, ‘Let us break Their bonds in pieces and cast away Their cords from us.’ He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; the Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure: Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, You are My Son, today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel. Now therefore, be wise, O kings; be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.” The root of the hatred against Israel is the fact that the nations of this world do not want to have to answer to the Word of God for their actions. For them rejection of Israel is an open rebuke and rejection against God that is why they say, let us break Their bonds in pieces. The Lord shall hold them in derision. Once the nations of the world cross the line, where they reject Israel for the sake of rejecting God, that God strikes them with confusion and madness. The question that we need to ask ourselves right now is, Did the nations gathered in Geneva crossed that line with the treaty that they just made? Here is a Scripture that may apply to what just happened over there: Zechariah 8:7 “Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Behold, I will save My people from the land of the east and from the land of the west.’” Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion. Notice the word yet, that means that in spite of what the nations of the east and the nations of the west did, God’s counsel, His Word will stand. And what is that Word? I will give You the nations for Your inheritance. Whether they like it or not, the earth is the Lord’s as well as everything in it, that includes the nations and all of the peoples of the earth, and this is the advice that the Lord gives to the leaders of these nations: Now therefore, be wise, O kings; be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. The third thing that the Lord revealed in our opening Scripture was: The Mountain of the Lord of hosts, the Holy Mountain. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of God’s throne, the kings and the judges of this world system do not rule supreme, all their despicable acts and rules with which they have corrupted the world with will have to be accounted for. Let us pray that our nation will be one of the ones that will repent before the Lord, for the sake of us all. Zechariah 8:22-23 “Yes, many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the Lord. Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘In those days ten men from every language of the nations shall grasp the sleeve of a Jewish man, saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.”’” Can you believe that! It will happen, after all our God is a God of miracles, all we need to do is to continue to pray for our nation and for the peoples of the nations, for it is only through prayer and intercession that we know our Lord will hear us and move to bless us in the midst of all this chaos. While the nations rage, let us pray! Back to End Times Teachings

  • SPIRITUAL DARKNESS | HoFM

Top of Page THE DELIVERANCE MINISTRY SPIRITUAL DARKNESS Matthew 6:23 “But if your eye is bad (evil, or in poor condition), your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!” There are some great insights about spiritual darkness in our opening verse. First Jesus tells us that the condition of our spiritual eyes is critical for the wellbeing of our entire body. The great second insight that I find is when Jesus refers to the darkness in an individual as if the light that is in you is darkness, referring to darkness as a type of light. Let us deal first with the spiritual condition of the eyes for they have a direct effect on the body, be it positive or negative. 1 John 2:16 “For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.” There are three major unclean spirits that work together to bring the entire person into spiritual darkness, these three spirits work in tandem in order to suppress and/or to pervert the higher calling of God for man. Since we are all descendants of Adam whose flesh was corrupted by the spirit of the lust of the flesh, all of us humans are born with the spirit of lust within us, also known as selfish-ambition, so that the propensity for sin is already in us. But thankfully God has blessed us with cognition, we are born with the natural ability to understand right and wrong, so that when we are tempted by our selfish desires, we have built in discernment that allows us to weigh out the possible consequences of our actions. The lust of the eyes is an external spirit, always operating from the outside trying to get in, in order to do so it has to connect with its kindred spirit, the spirit of the lust of the flesh that dwells in the inside and who is able to open the door to the external spirit that wants to come in. A bad spiritual eye, or an eye that is evil, is in no condition to recognize the spirit that lurks behind the temptation that its being tempted with, so that it cannot fully weigh the consequences of its indulging in the lust that its being offered. A good eye will always caution the person as to what is really at stake if it proceeds to indulge in the temptation. A good example would be that of a person being offered drugs for the first time; the temptation is the experience of a very personal internal high that is attained through the intake of external things, like the ingesting of drugs that alter a body’s normal functions. The effects of the drugs eventually wear out, but the spirit behind it stays in, and it becomes the force that eventually compels that person to continuously seek another, and another external fix to which it becomes addicted. A person with good spiritual eyes has the ability to weigh properly the consequences of its actions. Spiritual vision is the ability to foresee that which at the present is invisible. Let me use the same example, let’s say that a person is offered drugs for the first time, who is aware of the ruinous consequences that drugs can have in a person’s life, no matter how alluring that temporary high may sound, a person in the right frame of mind would immediately say; it is not worth it! Matthew 6:22 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good (clear or healthy), your whole body will be full of light (full of a clear and healthy understanding).” Our inabilities to understand the spiritual consequences of our actions is what plunges us into the realm of spiritual darkness. The lust of the eyes is always hard at work to deny the reality of the truth so that it can join forces with the spirit of the lust of the flesh. But there is a third spirit whose work keeps in bondage those who fell into the original deception. So that those who were originally deceived are now kept in the chains of darkness by its power, this spirit has to be defeated if they want to be made free again. Matthew 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Now we are dealing with the third and most deadly of the three, the spirit of the pride of life and it resides deep within the heart of man. It is the folly of a man that ensnares him, but it takes his pride to keep him bound. When a man replaces the light of sound judgment with the darkness that he calls light, because he is too proud to admit that he did wrong deep in his heart, that type of blindness is what is called spiritual darkness. I've been using common illustrations to portray spiritual realities here, but it is not sins or addictions that we are dealing with in this lesson, but rather, the issues here are, light which represents God’s enlightenment, and darkness which is represented by the pride of the wisdom of man. We are in the midst of spiritual warfare, there is an ensuing battle that has raged on for thousands of years, this war is being fought by the forces of darkness against the forces of light. It is not fought with carnal weapons, it is a fight between truth and lies, our mightiest of weapons is the truth of the Word of God which always defeats the lies of the enemy. Those who walk in spiritual darkness are prisoners of war who have been taken captive by the devil to do his will. Those who walk in the spiritual enlightenment of the Word of God are like mighty warriors who conquer the strongholds of the enemy and set the captives free. Who are the captives? Ephesians 4:17-18 “This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their (spiritual eyes) heart.” In times of war there should be no room for pride for it is pride, the pride of man, that blinds the human heart to the wisdom of God’s Word. The pride of a religious mindset can blind its followers to the truth of God’s Word. The pride of religious traditions can blind the minds of its followers to the truth of God’s Word. The pride of religious status, commonly known as the praise of man, can blind the minds of its recipients to the truth of God’s Word. Anything that has been corrupted, of which we are a part of somehow, if we fail to recognize the corruption and do not make every effort to alienate ourselves from it, will surely cause our minds to be blinded to the truth of the Word of God, and we do not want that. Ephesians 5:6-8 “Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them. For you were once darkness, but now your are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.” Here is what I am trying to say, stay away from compromise; spiritual darkness makes its bed in compromise, and once in it your sleep will be nothing but nightmares of darkness and gloom. Is there compromise between light and darkness? How about between truth and lies? When is it okay to discard the wisdom of God for the counsel of man? But yet people do it everyday, I have to believe that it is because they have no clue as to what the will of God is for their lives. Ephesians 5:17 “Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” If we walk in the light as He is in the light then we have fellowship with one another, according to 1 John 1:7 But how can we have fellowship with those who walk in spiritual darkness? You see the predicament that walking in spiritual darkness puts the body of Christ in. But the promise is that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from that foul spirit of the pride of life that keeps so many in bondage. 2 Corinthians 7:1 “Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” We cannot cast out the spirit of the lust of the flesh that is attached to our natural selfish desires, so that we will always face temptations while in our mortal bodies. But if we are fully aware of the consequences of giving into the spirit of the lust of the eyes, it makes it easier for us to reject the temptations knowing that we do not want to be in spiritual darkness. Remember that the focus of this teaching is not about our everyday struggles with the flesh, This is a lesson about the spiritual warfare that we are engaged in. In this lesson we are exposing the spirits that want to contaminate your faith by making this a carnal fight. Our bodies already died with Christ on the cross, this is a battle for truth, the truth of the Word of God. It is the enlightenment that comes from the truth that makes the captives free. If you have fallen prey to any of the many facets of the demonic doctrines of man’s wisdom, do not walk in pride, admit that you were deceived and refuse to walk in darkness anymore. Reject compromise and stand in the truth of the Word of God and the truth of God’s Word will be your vindication. Nail the spirit of the pride of life to the cross and it will never bother you again as long as you keep your eyes on Jesus. 1 John 2:5 “But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.” Back to Deliverance Ministry

Top of Page OTHER TEACHINGS I HAVE CHOSEN Psalm 119:30 “I have chosen the way of truth; Your judgments I have laid before me.” Choice is one of the most, if not the most radical concept that has ever been introduced to mankind. I know that many of us here in the west take this concept of choice for granted sometimes. But if we take a sober look at the history of mankind, we will come to the conclusion that the majority of humanity never had much of a choice as far as to how they wanted to conduct their lives. Even today, there are many that are born in nations that refuse to give them a choice, be it freedom of movement, freedom of religion, or even, economic freedom. If you are born today into a religion that proclaims that to depart from such religion is a crime that is punishable by death, you clearly do not have much of a religious choice, that is, if you want to go on living. You would be surprise to know how many nations today forbid the right of their citizens to choose which God they want to worship. And if you are a Christian in certain parts of Iraq today, you will be forced to renounce Christ and convert to Islam, and if not, you will die, even if your family had lived in those areas as Christians for hundreds of years. That is the history of humanity in a nut shell, seems like there is always somebody who thinks that he knows what is better for everybody else, and for some reason they are the ones that end up with the power to lord it over everybody else. From a biblical perspective let us take a look as to where does the right to choose originate from. Genesis 2:16-17 “And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, ‘Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.’” Even before Eve was created, the first man, who was created in the image of God, was given a choice; everything was made available to him except one, for he was forbidden to partake of the tree of dead. God is sovereign, that means that He does whatever He chooses to do. Adam was created in the image of God, so he was made a sovereign creature. The difference between Adam and God, is that God is Good, so that God can never choose to do wrong, however, even though Adam was made sovereign, he was also naked, that means that he had not yet been clothed with God’s eternal goodness and immortality, since he had not yet partaken of the tree of life, therefore he is forbidden to partake of that which can kill him. But if Adam partakes of the tree of life first, he makes the tree of death obsolete. For the tree of life offers to cover Adam with God’s goodness and immortality. Which by the way is what Jesus covers us with. Romans 13:12, 14 “The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on (clothe ourselves with) the armor of light...But put on (cover ourselves with) the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.” This is why when we are born again, that is Jesus becomes the covering for our nakedness, God considers us good and without sin. 1 John 3:9 “Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed (Jesus our covering) remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.” That is because as far as God is concerned, when we came before His throne and confessed our sins before Him, He killed us, for the soul that sins shall surely die. But since we came before His throne in the name of Jesus, the death of Jesus on the cross is imputed to us, and our sins are forgiven, and Jesus covers us with His goodness and His eternal life. But even after we become born again, we still have to make choices, for as long as we remain in our mortal bodies that we inherited from Adam, we will always be plagued by our propensity to sin. 1 John 1:8 “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” So that from the spiritual perspective God only sees the atoning blood of Jesus when He looks at us, for His seed, God’s Son, remains in us, therefore we cannot sin. But from the physical perspective we still have to make choices, and wrong choices bring bad consequences. 1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light (here is our choice) as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” So that as born-again believers, the choices that we make will determine what our condition will be in any given circumstance. God already made His choice; He chose to love us, for He is love. He provided for us the cleansing agent, which is the blood of Jesus. Now it is up to us to either walk in the light, which is the revelation of His salvation to us, or we can choose to follow after the desires of our flesh, and fall into the other choice that God has made for those who reject His free offer of grace and salvation. Jeremiah 34:17 “Therefore thus says the Lord: ‘You have not obeyed Me in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother and everyone to his neighbor. Behold, I proclaim liberty to you,’ says the Lord— ‘to the sword, to pestilence, and to famine! And I will deliver you to trouble among all the kingdoms of the earth.’” Isn’t it amazing that while the world is seeking to enslave men, and to deprive them of choice, and to keep them captive, God is in the business of freedom of choice. Even when enlightened men, those who should know better, for they have tasted of the freedom that comes from knowing God—turn their backs on God’s grace and love—it is their choice that God gives them the freedom to fall into, no matter how bad their choices are for them. In our opening text, the eight verses of Psalm 119, verses 25–32, correspond with the Hebrew letter Daleth, which means door. A door is a place of entrance, no one can be born again unless he first opens the door of his heart to let the Lord in. Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with me.” So that the choices that we make open doors through which we will have to transverse, whether we like it or not, so that it becomes very important that we understand where the doors lead that we open by the choices that we make. Psalm 119:25 “My soul clings to the dust; Revive me according to Your word.” We open the door to our Lord’s salvation when we come to the realization that we cannot save ourselves. My soul clings to the dust, so we seek the salvation that is prescribed in God’s Word. How does God Word say that we are to be saved? Psalm 119:26 “I have declare my ways (confessed my sins), and You answered me (You saved me); teach me Your statutes.” Why do we need to learn His statutes? Because our choices open doors, and now that we are saved we do not want to open doors that are not in our best interest. We want to make choices that align with the plans that He has for our lives. Revelation 3:7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, ‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens.’” We want the doors that the Lord opens to remain open, and we want the doors that the Lord closes to remain close. In order for that to happen we need to learn His statutes and make the choices that they prescribe. Psalm 119:27 “Make me understand the way of Your precepts; so shall I meditate on Your wonderful works.” Understanding is what we are trying to gain from this lesson. If we can be made vividly aware of the ill consequences of unwise choices, we would think twice before we make them. Do we really want liberty to fall to the sword, to pestilence, and to famine? I say that is not a liberty that I want. O Lord, please close that door and keep me as far away from it as possible! We can only pray that prayer with real faith if we are made aware, that is, we understand the perils that those wrong choices can bring into our lives. Psalm 119:28 “My soul melts from heaviness; strengthen me according to You word.” Imagine that! It seems like the psalmist knew a thing or two about wrong choices, his words seem to cry out, not my will O Lord, not my will, but according to Your Word! Psalm 119:29 “Remove from me the way of lying, and grant me Your law graciously.” A lie is always the perversion of truth. Since we desire the truth of His Word, we need to stay focus on His law, or Word of grace. It is not by works that we have done, but by His grace that we are saved! Psalm 119:31 “I cling to Your testimonies; O Lord, do not put me to shame!” Once the right choice was made in verse 30: I have chosen the way of truth, now we cling to His promised salvation, and as we do, we will not be put to shame. Psalm 119:32 “I will run the course of Your commandments, for You shall enlarge my heart.” What a beautiful promise we conclude with, a heart that is big enough to receive tremendous enlightenment, and yet, a heart that is able to remain humble and accessible to God at all times. I want to be like that! Don’t you? Back to Other Teachings
