A fragmented soul occurs when it has been moved or motivated by lies rather than truth. Lies fragment the soul, but the truth of God’s Word heals, restores, and liberates. Thus, restoration begins with being born again by the Spirit of truth, which energizes the soul to let go of deception and embrace the freedom offered in Christ (John 8:32). The lesson also distinguishes between soul and spirit: the soul functions like an engine that awaits a spiritual current (inspiration or influence), while the spirit acts as the energy flow that drives it. When the spirit is energized by God’s Word, the soul is empowered to overcome fragmentation. However, when deceived by worldly lies, the soul remains weakened and oppressed. Pastor Marcos warns that the world system, rooted in deception, continually seeks to indoctrinate through false teachings such as evolution or man-made traditions, which keep souls divided. Healing requires discerning lies from truth, forgiving those who unintentionally passed down deceptions, and rejecting practices that perpetuate fragmentation. Scripture assures that those with a pure, undivided heart will receive blessing and righteousness from God (Psalm 24:3-5). Ultimately, restoration of the soul is achieved by fully relying on God’s promises and living in the truth of His Word. Fragmented Souls concludes with a call for believers to stand apart from deceit, idolatry, and worldly influences, so that their souls may be whole, strong, and fully aligned with God’s will, walking in the righteousness of salvation. Inspired Teaching: Psalm 23:3 “He restores my soul…” What is the soul and where does it reside within me? Does my soul need restoration? What is a fragmented soul? Psalm 86:11 “Teach me Your way, O Lord; I will walk in Your truth; Unite (give me an undivided heart, singleness of heart) my heart to fear Your name." Within the Biblical context, the heart is the symbolic dwelling place for the spirit within us. And since our souls and our spirits are both spirits, they both dwell within us in a place called the heart, not our physical hearts. The physical human heart is strategically placed within our chest cavity, the torso, and from there it disseminates the oxygen rich life-giving substance that is in our blood. Our spiritual hearts are also located in a cavity somewhere within our torsos; however, it is an invisible place that is strategically located within us and from it flows the spiritual life and well being that comprises our persona, with its attitudes, intents, wills, and emotions. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Just like our human bodies can live and function without limbs, it appears, by the usage of the word whole by Paul, that our spirits and souls can exist and function as well while fragmented and weakened. Just like a human body can only achieve its full potential when all of its parts are present and functioning properly, it appears that it is the same way for our spirits and souls. They can only achieve their full potential when they are whole. However, unlike our human bodies that may be missing a limb or a physical part that they have to do without, it seems like our souls do not lose a part, but rather, their parts become separated or fragmented from one another. Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted (fragmented hearts, to heal means to restore to its original settings), to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.” A brokenhearted condition, fragmented soul, causes those who are afflicted by it to be hindered in their walk. They become captives to their condition, blinded and unable to see clearly where their malady originates from, and therefore become oppressed by their circumstances. The good news of the Gospel is that fragmented souls can be healed! 1 Peter 1:9 “Receiving the end (goal) of your faith—the salvation (deliverance, healing, restoration) of your souls.” Not only can our fragmented souls be healed, but our goal should also be in life to attain singleness of heart. So that we can fully comprehend what is the fear or respect for our Lord’s name, which is the beginning of wisdom. How do we do it? Let me first deal with the difference between our soul and our spirit, although our emphasis in this lesson is the fragmented soul, it is important for us to know how the two interact. Unlike a fragmented soul, where its integrity is breached and its parts become segregated, I believe that the spirit operates more in the sense of an energy flow. A spirit with a very low flow of energy cannot energize the human soul to the point of being able to restore it. A spirit that has a very strong energy flow makes it a lot easier for a fragmented soul to be restored. The word for spirit, as in your whole spirit is the Greek word Pneuma from where we get the term pneumatic tool from. Pneuma means spirit, a blast or a current of air that drives something. The word for soul, as in your whole spirit, soul is the Greek word translated as Psychic, from where we get the word, psychology, the study of the human personality or mind. It means spirit as well, air/spirit that is static and waiting to be moved by a current or inflow. A rudimental way of saying it, our souls are like an invisible motor that runs on blasts or currents of air/spirit. When a person is influenced or inspired by something, that person is receiving an inflow that is moving the soul, an invisible inspiration or spiritual infusion. A soul becomes fragmented when it realizes that it has been motivated by a lie. A lie is a spiritual force that drives people away from the truth. John 8:32 “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Jesus told us that the words that He speaks to us are spirit and that they are life, and that by believing them, His words, our souls can be made free from the power of the lies that fragmented the soul to begin with. John 6:63 “It is the Spirit (Pneuma) who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” In order to heal the fragmented soul our spirits have to be born again. Born of the Spirit of truth, for it is the truth of the Word of God that is able to infuse into our spirits the level of energy required to then motivate the soul to let go of the lies that divide it. Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is living (Zoe in Greek, and it means life giving and life sustaining, like spiritual blood) and powerful (Energea in Greek, and it means energy), and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” So that it is the truth of the Word of God that energizes the born-again spirit, which in turn motivates the soul to seek deliverance from oppression and bondage. It happens as soon as the soul’s spiritual eyes are opened to the truth that it has been fragmented by the lies it was told. Everything in this world system is based on a lie. Romans 1:24-25 “Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts (fragmented their souls), to dishonor their bodies (caused their bodies to malfunction) among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.” Our bodies malfunction as the result of our souls becoming fragmented, and our souls become fragmented when we reject the truth of the Word of God and end up falling for the lie. The fragmented soul can only be healed and restored as the result of an individual rejecting the lie that it believed, and embracing the truth of the Word of God, which is what spiritual discernment is all about, seeing our true condition in the mirror of His revealed Word to us. Our children as well as the rest of us face constant indoctrination attempts from the purveyors of the lie. In schools as well as through television programs we are constantly bombarded with the notion of evolution. You hear them say frequently that millions of years ago this happened and that took place, like they were there you know. These are the same people that can not even get the recent historical events right. I can disprove the theory of evolution very easy, if as they often say that we humans are the parasites that have infested this world, then why are they still here if they really believe that? In their pious pomp would they not have castrated themselves and saved the world for the sake of the animals that they worship? They don’t really believe that. They just want us to believe it so that they can feel superior. Galatians 5:12 “As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves!” NIV Once our spiritual eyes are opened to their mischievousness, for they do not really want to liberate people with knowledge of the truth, but rather their aim is to imprison people with their lies; then we are free to receive the liberating truth of God’s Word that make us wise. On a personal level, we have to deal with the lies that have been perpetrated against us by the people that we knew and who were responsible for our upbringing. With the grace of God to aid us, we need to realize that many of the lies that we were subjected to as we were growing up, were non-intentional on the part of those who taught us to follow the ways of this world. For the most part they did not know what they were doing to us. They were just teaching us what they had been taught in many instances. We need to forgive in order to receive the knowledge that leads to our deliverance from the institutionalized lies of this world system. Why is it necessary to rid ourselves of man-made traditions that seem harmless even to some of us today? Anything that aided the fragmenting of the soul will keep the person whose soul was fragmented from receiving the goal of their faith, the deliverance of their souls. Psalm 24:3-5 “Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure (undivided) heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation.” The word sworn literally means to affirm oneself. Within the context, sworn deceitfully, it simply means to continue practicing and believing something that is not truth. Those who continue to practice the lies that this world system espouses will not receive blessings from the Lord. The spiritual blessings that empower us to walk in the righteousness of the salvation that He has granted to us by His mercy and grace. To make our souls whole again we must rely totally on the promises offered to us by God Himself within His Word. When our souls can truly and confidently declare what our last verses of Scripture for this lesson say, then you will know that your soul has been healed to the max. Psalm 26:4-5 “I have not sat with idolatrous mortals, nor will I go in with hypocrites. I have hated the assembly of evildoers, and will not sit with the wicked.” Previous Next

Inspired Teaching - Written and/or Transcribed from Video Above: Hello and welcome to the House of Faith Ministries. I'm Lisa Kane. I'm recording this teaching on Sunday, May 25th, 2025. Welcome. Let's open up in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word and we bless your word that it does not return void. I also pray for all the listeners who are hearing your word that this word ministers to them deep within their spirit and that they hold on to your word and realize that they're more than conqueror that they're overcomers and that they are strong in you. Thank you Lord in the name of Jesus. Amen. Amen. Amen. Welcome. I'm glad you can join me. The teaching today is called baptized into Jesus death risen to life. Let's go to our opening scripture here in Romans 6:3. Know ye not that so many of us were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Well, now isn't that an interesting question? Don't you know that you were baptized into his death, which is being made wet fully and completely? It's what water baptism is. Water baptism, a lot of churches say that it proclaims you're acknowledging Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior to all of the witnesses around. Not just those physically attending, but those spiritually attending. And there is a truth to that. There is more than that though with water baptism. Remember when Jesus was waterbaptized and the Holy Spirit landed on him in the form of a dove, he went immediately into the wilderness and dealt with the devil. So he goes into spiritual warfare immediately after water baptism. But it's interesting that Paul is making the claim here in Romans that you are baptized into his death. So let's take a look at Romans 6 uh more complete. I want to go through this because I want you to realize that this is to help you mentally overcome the things that you are facing. And uh this is really really good. You're going to like this teaching. So let's start with verse one. So we're going to be in Romans 6 and we're going to start with verse uh one here. What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? So Paul is coming out and he's saying, "Okay, we got grace. This is awesome. So should we keep sinning so that grace keeps working?" And then he answers his question in verse two. Says, "God forbid." Wait a second. Wait a second. But we want grace to keep going forward and we want grace to stand strengthened in us. Yes. But not through sin. And that's what Paul is pointing out here. So verse two, God forbid, how shall we that are dead to sin live any longer therein? That's it's a very interesting question. When we became a believer, we and we became waterbaptized. Now, water baptism and being a believer are two separate things. Remember the man on the cross, the thief on the cross, he had protected Jesus while he was up there. And Jesus he he said Jesus when you enter your kingdom remember me. And Jesus promised him you will be with me in paradise today. So he didn't get off the cross and get water baptized. He wasn't water bapti or even baptized by the Holy Spirit. He didn't go knocking door to door winning souls. In fact he never had that opportunity to do any of that. He died on the cross just like Jesus. But he ended up in paradise and I like to say by the skin of his teeth or by the hair on his chinny chin chin because he barely made it but he was saved. So water baptism takes us a little deeper. This is now dealing with and I've taught on water baptism in belief letting the seed take hold, germinating the seed and coming out of that. Now we're going to look at what water baptism does in the spirit. how it keeps us from sin. Because see now, you know, you have a lot of people who question like, "Yeah, I'm a believer, but I still sin. I still mess up." Well, this chapter deals with that to help you overcome that. So, let's continue on here and look at that. It says, uh, let's read verse two again. God forbid, how shall we that are dead to sin live any longer in sin? Basically, how how can we? You died the moment you became water baptized. You went under the water. You got fully wet. This isn't a sprinkling. This is a fully wetness. And you come out of it. You died with Jesus on that cross. You're no longer that sinner. And I call you that sinner. Not by your name. I call you by that sinner. Yes, we're born. We have a name. We have a personality. We have a book that God has written about us. I've taught on that before. And so what happens next is that person died immediately when he or she went under the water. I died when I was water baptized. I was water baptized at the age of nine and I went under and I came up alive in Christ which means I should not go back into sin. However, I have gone back into sin. But the Lord has changed me in these last few years in a remarkable way that that I keep pursuing more and more. I try to get closer and closer to God because I really want to overcome this and be done with sin. Amen. Isn't that something a worthy goal to have? Look at this in verse three. He says, "Know ye not that so many of us were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into our his death." That's our opening scripture. We were baptized into his death. So, as Jesus was baptized, three years later, he died on the cross. But then three days later, he rose to life. And I love that. Three years and three days. You see, the moment you die, you've got your ministry ahead of you. Whether that's three years, 10 years, 33 years, 55 years, 88 years, it doesn't matter. That ministry is before you. But the moment you die, Paul says we're absent from the body, present with the Lord. See, when Jesus went down to the grave for three days, he went down there to deal with hell. He went down there to deal with those in paradise. And when he came out, they came with him. And on his way to heaven, he stopped to talk to Mary Magdalene. What did he tell? She said, "Don't touch me yet. I haven't ascended." He says, "I go to my God, your God, my father, your father." You see, there's revelation in that. Jesus, the creator of this world, he's the the power, the spoken word. He entered his own creation as a man. Now when we create things, we cannot enter it. But he did. So when he went through death and he died, he came up out of that grave alive with a body that we're to get. He did everything that we're expected to do. He went through it himself. and he went through it horribly because God turned his back on him when he was right there on the cross when all that sin was on him because he wasn't used to that. That was probably more painful than the physical pain he was suffering on that cross that moment. So now that we see that we're baptized because remember Jesus also said that we would do greater things than him. How? Well, that's overcoming sin. See, we died and and the knowledge here. See, here's the key. If you can get the knowledge and the fact that you're dead, sin can't touch you. Let's continue on and read more of chapter 6 verse4. Therefore, we are buried or assimilated spiritually with him by baptism into death. That like as Christ was raised, he was waken up from the dead by the glory of the father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. So we come up. He again ministered for 30 or for three more years. He lived to be 33. They approximate that. But here's the thing is now we walk in life, not death. Death has no dominion over us. You're going to see that as he gets to it here in just a moment. Verse five. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall also be in the likeness of his resurrection. Now, this goes back to my other teaching where the if you remember the parable of the sewer, he's sewing seeds on good soil, hard soil, rocks, thistles, they're all all over the place. See, not every plant germinates in easy condition. Some require special condition to germinate or get saved for them to receive that seed to grow and manifest in us. It takes special condition. But for most of us, we hear the word of God when that seed is planted. And see, remember, Adam was made from earth. So the word of God is a seed that gets planted in the dirt that we were. And what happens is when you get water baptized and you come up, you just water the seed and it should begin to germinate. Especially as you continue to receive the water which is the word of God, living waters just keep coming over. You keep reading it and you get hit the sun, the son of God, not just the su but the s o n. As you get that seed is germinating and it's planting, the sun is causing it to grow and mature. That's our three years of ministry, 10 years, 88 years, whatever it may be. We are in that ministry and the Lord continues to work through us. So now we have a knowledge. We can understand that we died with him when we were water baptized. That's knowledge. But there's also we came out of that water. Let's look at this further as we go together. We're planted together in the likeness of him and in the likeness of his resurrection. Same thing. We are resurrected into a new creation. See Jesus, same spirit, but he is a new creation because he has a body now where he didn't have a body before this all started. Now he's in a physical body who sits next to his father, a spirit, the divine holiness of God, the father himself. And so Jesus is now part of us, which is where we come in as a bride. So we die with him when we're water baptized and we are resurrected to life. Let's continue on in verse six. knowing this. See, this is where we get the knowledge and this is what the knowledge does. Every time you are tempted or you think of sin or there's something there that you know it's going to take you away from the Lord or you're struggling with something, remember the knowledge of being waterbaptized and to death and rising from that water into life. Knowing this, this is knowledge, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. It's very interesting where Paul goes with this because now he's talking about servantthood. And you're going to see that the second half of chapter 6 is all about who you serve, which means you take that knowledge and you make a choice. Are you going to serve righteousness or are you going to serve sin? Who do you choose to be a slave to? Righteousness or sin? It's a choice. Now, spiritually, you're dead. You went under the water. You died. Spiritually, you rose from that grave just like Jesus. and you're alive in him. So now when you have that knowledge, you can say, I'm going to choose to serve righteousness because I have the right to it because Jesus has forgiven me. He redeemed me by what he did on the cross through his blood. He poured out his blood and he paid that price and we were resurrected from that with him. We're resurrected with him. So now verse seven, for he that is dead is freed from sin. You died. Sin no longer has a hold of you. And when you get that mentally and you sit here and it becomes a revelation because you like all of a sudden like wait a second, I I'm I'm not bound to sin. I don't have to serve that. You know, when I became aware of the medical system and I was diagnosed with a type two diabetes and all that kind of stuff, when I became aware of that's not how God made me to live. I'm not here to live in bondage of some medical condition. He made this earth for me to live on healthy and free. And it became a knowledge, a knowing. And when I got it, I got rid of all those drugs and I'm in better health now today than I ever have been. And that's because I chose to walk in the righteousness. I chose to believe that I was freed from all that. It's a choice. You can choose to believe you're still a part of sin or you can choose to believe that you've been freed from sin. Paul is talking about this in Romans 6. Let's go to verse seven now. I mean verse eight. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him. There's that word belief. We believe. So now we're talking about how do you believe? Do you believe you're saved? And do you know a lot of Christians struggle with that? Let me give let me let you in on a little secret here. If you're struggling with that, it means you're consciously aware of an attack against your mind, but you don't know what to believe. You're still believing the liar, the devil, who's telling you, "You messed up bad." Well, let me tell you something. Jesus says, "I will forgive anything and anyone of anything." That is the freedom we have. And you get to choose to believe that freedom because if you believe you're free from sin, you will walk sin free. You will walk liberated. You will walk in the life that Christ has called you to live by. What a blessing. What a powerful revelation that we can have in our minds simply because we choose to believe. Which by the way, choosing to believe is a step of faith. You're activating faith in God, which is how he operates. He wants to operate through faith. So, you have to take a leap of faith and say, "All right, Jesus, you said I'm freed from sin. I don't know how you can say that, but I'm going to choose to believe that." And you plant the seed and the spirit begins to change things in your mind. Changes the way you think. You know, when I got off that type two diabetes, all the drugs, the insulin, I was in all I was in all those pills plus other things. It took about eight weeks. It's a process, but I kept saying, "No, I'm gonna choose to believe in you, God." And it was like it broke through. And I was like, "Thank you, Jesus. I don't want to live in bondage to that." And you don't have to live in bondage to that either. You're free from sin because you died when you were waterbaptized and came up. Now all of us who become believers ought to get water baptized if we could because that's going to let us walk liberated. It is going to let us walk liberated but at the same time also be prepared and aware of spiritual aspects we have to deal with every day. We are in spiritual warfare every day. You wonder why some days you feel like you want to do the anything. You like you can just overcome the world and there are other days that you're so down you're just like you could barely barely even pray. That's because you're dealing with spiritual warfare. There are things that are attacking you. And these are those things where you finally again with the knowledge of your mind and your spoken word. Remember what Romans 10:9 says that if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord. The moment you say Jesus is Lord, and you believe that God raised him from the dead, you're saved, delivered, healed, not just for salvation of eternity, but liberated to walk in freedom while on this earth before we get our heavenly bodies. We can walk liberated. That's so powerful. I hope you guys are getting this. Verse nine, knowing here's that knowing again to know. Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead die dieth no more. Death has no death hath no dominion over him. We death has no dominion over us because we died with him. And the moment we died with him, we're done with death. Hebrews 9:27 says that every man is appointed to die once. Well, guess what? That's where my death was. So, either I'm just going to instantly change. twinkling of an eye in the rapture or I'm gonna be doing whatever or asleep and I'm gonna instantly change. I'm not going to experience any more death because I've already died to my flesh. I've already died to this world and death has no dominion over me. My eternity has already begun. Simply put, I'm going to come out of the flesh. this flesh is just going to come right off of me and my spirit is going to enter into the presence of the Lord. That's how it works for believers in Christ. This is what Christianity is. And it's about the relationship factor where you finally get to know the truth of what the word is telling us. The word is telling us, I don't have to live to death. I don't have to live by death's rules. I'm not obligated to that to that law. I walk supernaturally in the spirit above and beyond death. I have no fear of it. I don't need to have fear. I wasn't given a spirit of fear. Do you know how many times it says do not fear in the Bible? Like over 365 times. And that's just that one phrase. That's not counting all the other phrases of don't be afraid or anything like that and all the different version of Bibles out there. I'm going to tell you right now, we are freed from death. And we don't have to live by those rules. See, we're we're Christlike. And if Jesus can walk on the water and break the rules of how water operates, you know, water is liquid and water, you're supposed to sink into it. Well, Jesus said, "I'm the creator and I'm going to break that rule and make it solid." And so, he walked on water. And every time somebody had a need or somebody had an issue, whether their faith healed them or whether he healed them, either way, he broke the rules because he was already he had already died and he had already risen. He was just in ministry during that time and then he went to the cross and that was so that he can pay that price for us to be able to do the same thing that he does. So here we have the opportunity and the privilege to be above and beyond that. Do we deserve it? No. But this is where the knowledge comes in. I believe Jesus healed me and I believe he saved me and I believe I'm I'm righteous because of his covering over me and I get to have the right to stand in that and the right to claim it. That's my privilege. This is a blessing that the Lord has given us and we ought to be walking in that. For in that he died, he died unto sin once, but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Now notice he doesn't say live once because see you live out your life here in the physical but then you live out your eternity in his presence. You're actually living twice. Once in the physical flesh and once in the spiritual flesh and they overlap. And that's where we're at. For those of us that get the knowledge of this, we're in that overlapping field where we're still stuck with our flesh, but we are living our spirit life already. And we're living unto God. Because again, we have that knowledge and we choose to put him first. Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. All these things will be added unto you. That's Matthew 6:33. These are the promises that we have that have been given to us where we can manifest that and live and surprise people. People are going to look going, "How can you do that?" Well, guess what? So verse 11 like it like likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. This is very very powerful. You see the moment sin tries to do something or take over or you know try to act try to take dominion that's when you say no no no no nope I dead to sin. I died to sin. It it has no pull on me. It has no longing. It has no um it has no dominion over me at all. It is gone. Can look at it and say, you know what? Bye-bye. And that's what you do. So here now we have the opportunity to say well I choose to live unto God and I choose to walk in his knowledge that he has given me which means I'm liberated and I don't have to live or feel like I'm going back into sin or doing sin again because I'm free. I'm already dead to that. And the moment you get that knowledge and you start speaking that word over your body, over your mind, you're prophesying over yourself, I'm not going to live in sin anymore because I choose to live unto life. Your life radically changes spiritually and physically. And I am I I guarantee that. That is a promise of God that he has given to each and every one of us. And I have experienced it at least a little bit. I don't know where your faith is and I don't know what everybody else's faith. Some faith is just really small like a pinhole. But others faith, some people see a bigger picture. I don't see that whole big picture. I just saw a part that I know I get to live free. And as soon as I got that, my life changed and I wish I could apply it to everything else. So I keep saying it over and over again because I know my God and I know what he's doing in my life. That transformation is at work. Amen. Verse 12. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body that ye should obey it in the l lust or the longings thereof. You see, we don't have to obey it. It may tempt us. But I promise you, the moment you say, "Nope, I choose life and I choose living for God." That sin has to run away. It has to flee. It has to go away. Verse 13, neither yield your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin. I love this. Unrighteousness is legal injustice. You see what happens? A lot of us, especially as believers in Christ, we may not blatantly go out and sin. Um, you know, take drugs or, you know, do something like a murder or anything like that. But I will tell you what we do is we speak words. And the issue is we might be cursing instead of blessing. And if you're doing that, that's where your sin is. And that's when you say, "Nope, I'm not going to speak those words over so and so. I choose God. I choose righteousness. And Lord, I'm going to bless him and I bless me because I don't want that curse on them. And I don't want that curse on me because I'm not bound by sin anymore. I'm liberated." Hallelujah. But yield yourselves unto God as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. You see, here's the thing is you're a walking miracle. You are a walking miracle because you know you have the knowledge of what God has done for you and you claimed it. You spoke it. You attributed it to you. You prophesied it over yourself with your spoken word and you said sin is no longer part of my life. I am liberated. And by the way, the word sin there means offense. So you're not offending. You should be offending people actually uh with your walk with the Lord. It should be offending a whole bunch of people because they don't like the fact that you're healed. You know, I I've got family members that I know that are um still dealing with type 2 diabetes, stuff like this, and I'm sure they're questioning in the back of their mind, how is it she could be free from it, but he or she can't? Well, let me let you in on a little secret. I chose God and to walk in his knowledge. And guess what? You can do the same. It took me two months to finally get liberated from it, but you do see the light at the end of the tunnel and you do get free from it because it does not have dominion over you. Hallelujah. Verse 14, for sin shall not have dominion over you, for ye are not under the law, but under grace. We have the grace factor. Jesus forgave us. And it's hard to understand because we want it. There's a desire there to want to work and prove to God that we can do it. Here's the thing. Every time we try to do it our own way, we're going to fail every single time. And this is when we finally say, "You know what, Lord? I give up. I'm just going to have to trust in your grace, in your freedom, and that's just what I'm going to have to do because I don't know what else to do here." And that's when God says, "I got you in the right place where I need you to be." And he starts working in you. He starts changing the way you think. And he starts pouring his word into you. And again, you're liberating you. The knowledge, it revitalizes you. It changes your whole perspective. Oh, this is so good. Let's go to verse 15. What then? Shall we sin? Which this sin means miss the mark because we are not under the law, but under grace. God forbid. No. So now we don't do we don't keep going and sinning. We have to make a conscious effort to stop it and say no more. And guess what? Sin has to flee. It all has to work. The devil has to run away. That's how this works. So know ye not that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey, whether of sin unto death or of obedience and to righteousness. So you have a choice. You can continue to live into sin and and what does it say? Sin unto death or you can be obedient unto righteousness. Actionable items on your shoulders. You choose. You decide which direction you want to go. Then verse 17, but God be thanked that ye are the servants of sin, but you have obeyed the heart that for that form of doctrine which was delivered to you. Once you believe, and here comes that word believe. The word believe means to have faith. You believe that God has raised you up. You came out of that water. You are a new creation, a new creation, a new creature. You are transformed. And you are no longer obedient to sin. You're obedient unto righteousness by your spoken word. And as you stand on that, believe because you are free. Being then made free from sin, you became the servants of righteousness or justification. Now you're a servant to righteous. So everything you do is going to be under right standing. You're going to pray for somebody. Right standing. You're going to love your enemies. Right standing. These are the things that you've been blessed with because you chose knowing righteousness through God. You chose to walk in that and walk away from sin. You made a conscious choice spiritually. Everything took place when you were baptized and you came up. Spiritually, it's done. Now you get to stand in that freedom and you get to walk in the right stand. You are justified by faith because your faith made you whole because you believed. I speak after the manner of men because of the affirmity of your flesh, feebleness, weakness. For as ye have yielded your member servants to uncleanness and to iniquity, or illegality, unto iniquity, even so now yield your member servants to righteousness and to holiness. See, now you can submit yourself holy. You get to go in and spend time with Christ. No matter how much everyone's trying to distract you, turn your phone off, put it down, open up the Bible, and say, "Lord, I'm gonna spend time with you because this time is between you and me." And by the way, every time you do it every day, you get closer and closer to him. Oh, hallelujah. For we For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. You couldn't do that if you were a sinner. You cannot go into righteousness. The law tells us we will fail every single time, but grace tells us we're already saved. Amen. Oh, hallelujah. What fruit have ye then in those things where ye are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. You see, we don't have death over us anymore. There is no dominion of death. We are free. So, if you choose to walk in sin, you're going to be walking into death all over again when you have the right to be free from it as a believer in Christ. Verse 22. But now being made free from sin and become servants to God, you have your fruit unto holiness in the end of everlasting. Notice this fruit. Fruit has to mature. Fruit has to grow. Means it comes from a seed. You are buried in the water. It is now watered. You come up alive. It's germinating. It is alive. May not even see the leaves yet, but it's coming out. And before you know it, the leaves come out. The branch comes out. You're a new creation. And the fruit starts to appear, meaning you start demonstrating rightness with God. Oh, hallelujah. And that's the fruit. And people can come up to you and see that, know it, they will grab your fruit and take a a bite of it and know what is it that you do to do this because I want to live like that. Oh, that's how we sit. That's how we stand in his will, manifesting his will to the world. Hallelujah. And the last but most important verse in this chapter is for the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. It's a gift. This is all a free gift. We don't have to work at it. We just have to make a choice and choose righteousness. And that way you choose life and life more abundantly. Hallelujah. Let's close in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word. We bless your word that it manifests in us and it sticks with us and that we produce that fruit that you have given us, Father God. As every action we take, it'll be unto righteousness and justification that we choose no more sin, but we choose life and the gift of life in you. Thank you, Lord. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Inspired Teaching: Isaiah 59:2 “But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.” How do sincere Christians know if their relationship with God is in a estate of separation? For if our relationship with God is estranged, no matter how hard we pray, we can be certain that He will not hear us. In our opening text we are told that iniquities are the culprits. Not only in separating us from God, but also the reason that we continue to sin in a matter that causes God to hide His face from us, so that we will not be the recipients of God’s answers to our prayers anytime soon. The problem with iniquity is that in many instances they were transferred to us through our genetic code. That means that many of us were born with character flaws, physical flaws, and weaknesses, that predisposed us to struggle with certain sins and ailments in our lives. Since we know who the culprit is, let us take a Scriptural look at how iniquities work, so that we can figure out how to get rid of them. Exodus 20:5 “You shall not bow to them nor serve them (idols). For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me.” All of us are the product of two parents, four grandparents, eight great-grandparents and sixteen great-great-grandparents, if we go four generations back. If any of those thirty people in our immediate lineage practiced idolatry, their act of hatred towards God opened the door within our family line to be afflicted with the consequences of their iniquitous sin. We could say that iniquity is our inherited predisposition to sin, and we can take that one all the way back to Adam. We may think, well that it is not fair, for us to be born with such a burden of sin, a sin that we did not even take part in, but from God’s point of view we see a different trade off if you will. Exodus 20:6 “But showing mercy to thousands (of generations), to those who love Me and keep My commandments.” Salvation is a covenant, and once we enter into the covenant of salvation that Jesus mediated for us, we guarantee that our seed will be part of the covenant of salvation forever, long after we’ve been gone. Acts 3:25-26 “You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’ To you first, God, having raised up His servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away everyone of you from your iniquities.” And the way that God turned away our iniquities from us, was by transforming our sinful nature, that in the natural resembles the first Adam who was made after the flesh, to be conformed to the image of the last Adam, Jesus Christ our Lord, through the born again experience, who came to bless us with His incorruptible nature. 1 Corinthians 15:22 “For as in Adam all died, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.” The covenant for us who are in Christ Jesus is this, we have become partakers of the divine nature of Jesus, we are part of His body. 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” But just like with every covenant, there are actions that are required of those who are under the covenant, in order for them to possess the benefits that are stipulated within the covenant and make it theirs. Colossians 3:1-2, 5 “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on things on the earth...Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.” Yes, we have a new nature, but we still have the old nature as well, the nature that contains all the iniquities that it had inherited through the sins of idolatry committed by our ancestors, and we are commanded to put those contaminated things that remain within our flesh to death. Matthew 17:21 “However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” After His disciples failed to cure a boy who suffered from epileptic seizures, Jesus told them that their failure was due to their unbelief, or lack of faith. He told them that if they dare to believe, that with the power of faith they would be able to move mountains and that nothing would be impossible for them. Then Jesus added, within the context of His disciples needing more faith, that prayer and fasting were a requirement as well, in order for them to remove the demonic stronghold that they had failed to dislodge. Fasting has to do with denying the flesh that still bears the image of the first Adam, in other words we need to be operating within the realm of self-control instead of selfish-ambitions. Prayer has to do with asking for the revelation knowledge that they lacked while dealing with the situation that they had failed to resolve. Let’s take a closer look and see what we can learn from it. It was a father and son situation, a boy who probably suffered from these seizures since early childhood, so that his infirmity had to be the result of iniquity that he had inherited. It is not by coincidence that the number seventeen is found in relation to both the story recorded in Matthew chapter seventeen, and in verse seventeen of 2 Corinthians 5, where we are told of our new nature. So that the number seventeen is the key that connects both the old and the new nature. The number seventeen is the seventh prime number, seven is the number of perfection; and it is in verse twenty-one, 3 X 7 = 21 of Matthew 17: where we are given the key by Jesus about praying and fasting to completely remove the strongholds of iniquity from all three, spirit, soul, and body. Seventeen is also the sum of our sixteen great-great-grandparents and us. So that in the four generations we find the number sixteen at their foundation, and we ourselves sit as number one on the top of this fleshly pyramid of our four generations ancestry. That means that iniquity has a number and so does our new nature. When we multiply the number seventeen which is the number of the flesh according to: Galatians 5:19-21 “Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery (1), fornication (2), uncleanness (3), lewdness (4), idolatry (5), sorcery (6), hatred (7), contentions (8), jealousies (9), outbursts of wrath (10), selfish ambitions (11), dissentions (12), heresies (13), envy (14), murders (15), drunkenness (16), revelries (17), and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in times past, that those who practice such things will not inherit (the promises of deliverance from iniquity) the kingdom of God.” By the number nine, which is the number of spiritual fruit: Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love (1), joy (2), peace (3), longsuffering (4), kindness (5), goodness (6), faithfulness (7), gentleness (8), self-control (9). Against such there is no law (the law that visits iniquity from the fathers to their children is abolished).” We come up with the number that classifies us as children of God’s new nature: 17 X 9 = 153. John 21:11 “Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of large fish, one hundred and fifty three; and although there were so many, the net was not broken.” The number 153 is the numerical value for the Hebrew phrase sons of Elohim, the enlightened sons of God, which encompasses all of the redeemed from all of the ages. We are already children of God, heirs of His promises, so what is the common denominator here? Romans 8:17 “And if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed (acts prompted by our faith, like fasting and praying) we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together.” Are you surprised that the answer is found in a verse of Scripture that has been assigned with the number seventeen as well? Here is the key, acts of selfish ambitions are always the works of the flesh, and along with the works of the flesh are the workings of iniquity manifested. Spiritual fruit flows out of a heart of love that wants to fulfill the law of Christ, that is, it desires to walk under the power of self-control. Fasting has to do with a lot more than just not eating, it has to do with depriving the flesh of its wantonness. Self-denial can be attained through honest prayer, for when the human heart appears before the presence of God humbled and broken, in the spirit of contrition, God always attends to its needs, and there is where a true converting of the soul takes place, in the secret place of the broken heart. Psalm 19:7 “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.” Previous Next

In both paths, God’s promises remain sure, and His purposes will be fulfilled in the lives of His children. Inspired Teaching: Romans 9:19 “You will say to me then, ‘Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?’” How do we know, when an adverse circumstance rises against us, if we are to resist it, or just accept it and endure it? Here is what I mean, if the adversity is a trial sent to us from God for the testing of our faith, we would not want to fail the test by resisting the adverse circumstance to the point where we renege our faith on His promise that if we endure trials faithfully, He will see us through them. But if it is an attack from the enemy, we want to come against it head on and defeat it, for we are told that if we submit to God and resist the devil that he will flee from us. Acts 7:51 “You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you.” The Scripture in Acts gives us a tremendous insight into how vital it is for our wellbeing to be able to know when we are to resist adversity, and when we are to relent and endure them. Because if we are resisting the Holy Spirit we are fighting against the will of God for our lives, and that is not going to be good for anybody. Uncircumcised in heart and ears. Circumcision is a type for the removal of the flesh from the life-giving ordinances of God, in other words, we need to remove our carnality from the decision making process. That resolves the first part of the problem. An uncircumcised ear is one that focuses on the adversity alone, and by doing so, the heart, where the decision-making process takes place, is compromised, for it cannot make an informed decision since it is only receiving one side of the adversity, we are facing, which is the pain it causes, and not what the potential benefits, if any, might be. As your fathers did, so do you. The second part of the problem is generational; resisting the will of God for our lives is embedded within our human genes, courtesy of the fall of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden, the Paradise of God for us. Adam and Eve were kicked out of the Garden to prevent them from partaking of the fruit of the Tree of Life, for had they eaten from it in their rebelliously carnal state, they would have become like the fallen angels, unredeemable and eternally dammed forever. In God’s plan of redemption for humanity, Jesus who is the Tree of Life, hung naked on the cross to cover our nakedness with His holiness, and opened the door for us back into the Paradise of God where we can freely partake of the fruit of the Tree of Life, which is His Word/Promises. John 6:63 “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” So that our decision-making process, concerning anything, has to be based on the Word of God instead of what the flesh is experiencing! How do we circumcise our hearts and ears? Romans 9:9 “For this is the word of promise…” We have to begin at the point of our salvation. Our salvation is the result of God’s promises to mankind. In Jesus, the Seed of the woman, all the promises of God given to us can be attained. For there is no other name under heaven whereby we must be saved and delivered. Acts 4:12 “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Spiritually speaking, what I am trying to say is that if we are fully persuaded that we belong to Jesus Christ, and we know for a fact that His Holy Spirit is within us, and we are convinced that He has a plan and a purpose for our lives, and that His plan and purpose is the very best for us, then nothing else really matters does it? What I’m saying is that as long as we are fully committed to His good will and great and precious promises for us, the result can never be in doubt, even if our discernment fails us at times, for as it is written: Hebrews 10:23 “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” What that does for us is that it takes the pressure off from our decision-making process. Hey, I don’t want to suffer a minute longer than I have to in order to obtain God’s promises for my life, for I do not enjoy suffering. But I know that if I somehow miss a turn and have to go around the block one extra time or two, it is not going to stop God from getting me there, for this is what He promised me: Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” True deliverance, or circumcision of the heart begins, when we finally cross a threshold in our hearts that says: I belong to God, and I am fully committed to His will for my life, therefore nothing is going to keep me from fulfilling His will and purpose for my life. When adversity comes our way, and our hearts are in tune with the words that Jesus speaks to us, which are spirit and truth—spiritual truth—we will know instantly if we are to resist the adversity with the sword of the spirit which is the Word of God, or if we are to relent and let the work of adversity work its way through, in the meanwhile we strengthen our faith while the persecution is crossing our path. John 16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” We need to remember that often times deliverance and tribulation go hand in hand. Now why is that? In the circumcision typology, the life-giving male semen gets corrupted as it comes in contact with the flesh, the foreskin, as it is spread abroad. The two-fold covenant of circumcision with Abraham was given as a type for those who were entrusted with the propagation of God’s Word, that they were to keep it from contamination. For the Jews who are the heirs of the physical promise—the Holy Land, the ritual was a physical act to be performed on every newborn Jewish boy on the eighth day. Paul infuses into the church the spiritual implication of the two-fold circumcision covenant that God made with Abraham. Colossians 2:10-13 “And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands (spiritual circumcision), by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses.” What Paul is saying is that for those of us who are saved, being buried with Jesus in baptism at the moment of our spiritual rebirth, eight being the number that represents a new beginning, we were spiritually circumcised, as babes in Christ. We are His body here on earth, the church, and it falls upon us to broadcast or propagate His Life-giving Word to a world that is barren. But if that Life-giving Word is contaminated by the dead works of the flesh, it loses its power to raise those who are dead back to the spiritual life that was once promised to those who would believe. Matthew 5:13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.” So, going back to our opening do we relent or resist question; the adversities and tribulations we are suffering, are they caused by our losing our saltiness or is it because of our saltiness that we bear then? Your honest answer to that question will guide you into which path you need to take. If you are being trampled underfoot by men, then it is time for you to let go of the flesh that is contaminating the promises of God for your life, and keeping them from coming to full fruition in you. On the other hand, if you are being persecuted for taking a firm stand on the Word of God in this corrupt world, for salt is the antidote to corruption, then you should bear the tribulations gladly, for they are a sign of the effectiveness of your walk with Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 4:12-14 “Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory (your spiritual walk) and of God rests upon you. Inspired Teaching: Zechariah 2:5 “For I, says the Lord, will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst.” The ministry of anointing with oil is one of the most mysterious things that we can find in the Bible, yet it is one of the most powerful. The anointing oil can be applied to kings, to priests, to sacraments, to places, and as we see in our opening text, to cities as well. In the case of Jerusalem, we cannot see it with our carnal eyes, but God has anointed that city and if we could look through the eyes of the Spirit, we would see the anointing that covers Jerusalem as a wall of fire that surrounds her and covers her with God’s mighty protection. Isaiah 10:27 “It shall come to pass in that day that his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.” But more important of all, as far as we humans are concern, the anointing with oil has the power to deliver us from the burden of transgression and the yoke of slavery to sin. James 5:14-15 “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” What is the mystery of the anointing with oil besides what might be obvious to us? I spent many a times praying for people who were in need of deliverance from demonic strongholds, and one of the many things that I learned in my dealings with those oppressive demonic entities, was how demons perceive humanity and our physical realm from their underworld perspective, we need to remember that they live in a totally different dimension than we do. I believe that when demons look at us humans what they mainly see is an aura around us that may differ in intensity as well as in color, and that is how they perceive the human condition. Since we humans are two thirds spirit and one third human, for we are made of spirit, soul, and body, what demons mainly see when they look at us, is our own spiritual orb that surround us. So that if we are walking under Christ’s anointing, and since Christ means Anointed One, when a demon looks at us under the anointing, they cannot tell whether it is us or Jesus Christ who they are facing. Luke 10:19-20 “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions (demonic entities), and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in Heaven.” I believe that what Jesus is teaching us in Luke 10 is that as born-again believers, born again means to be born of the Spirit of God, there is an aura around us that all spirits recognize and that they must submit to. In other words, Jesus is telling us not to rejoice in the fact that we have power over the demonic spirits, but rather, that we rejoice in the anointing that is over us and that covers us, because of our position in the spiritual realm due to the Anointed One dwelling in us through His Spirit. Psalm 105:15 “Saying, ‘Do not touch My anointed ones, and do My prophets no harm.’” So that there is a de-facto anointing that personally covers all born again believers and that all demonic entities must recognize. But the ministry of the anointing with oil varies greatly and the greater our understanding of how it works the more powerful and effective that we can become in our ministries, and the better that we can protect ourselves, our families, and our properties from the evil one. Let us take a look at a few of the many applications of the anointing with oil. Let us begin with the anointing for peace. Jeremiah 29:7 “And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace.” One thing that I do recommend for churches to do, and individual believers as well, is to take oil and anoint the places where your city begins and ends, what the Bible calls the city gates or entrances. The way that we did it in the past is to go east and west, and north and south of the city, and pour anointing oil on the entrances of our city and pray for God’s anointing of peace to dwell in that city where we live. Then we proceed to anoint our property lines, by pouring anointing oil all around the perimeter of what we own or rent, the place where we live, and we pray for God’s protection over it and ask for His peace to abide there as well. Why is that important? Romans 8:21 “Because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.” Since we, the children of God, are walking under the liberating covering of God’s anointing that preserves us from the corruption of this world, we can proclaim liberty over the part of the creation that we do occupy. How does that work, spiritually speaking? 1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks (roams) about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” Since wicked spirits tune in to areas that emanate gloominess and darkness, where spiritual disorder and chaos reigns, and since they roam about looking for innocent victims that they can lure into their traps without repercussions, it is important for the believers that inhabit those areas to anoint with oil those same areas that they occupy. Spirits can instantly discern the places where believers have prayed for God’s peace to reign, and if they anointed the places where they prayed with oil, that anointing oil in the spiritual realm, shines like a mighty fire from God that warns those malevolent sprits to watch out, for there is swift retribution coming their way if they trespass over the anointing that covers those areas that believers have placed under their anointing. Is the same for our homes, where we have anointed our boundaries with anointing oil, for it will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst. We are also to anoint our home with oil both inside and out, now why do we need to do that? Deuteronomy 23:14 “For the Lord your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you and give your enemies over to you; therefore your camp shall be holy, that He may see no unclean thing among you, and turn away from you.” Just like the anointing oil shines in the spiritual realm to drive away predators, it also serves as a welcome sign for God’s holy angels that also move around the earth to do God’s bidding. But even more precious than that, God takes pleasure in walking is our midst during our times of repose, and a home or a room where the anointing oil has been placed indicates to our Lord that this place has been reserved for His presence, and that He is always welcome there. And then we are also to anoint ourselves personally as a sign of gratitude before the Lord, to show not only to ourselves, but to show others as well, and to show God Himself, that we will always belong to Him, our entire person, spirit soul and body are His habitation. Isaiah 65:16 “So that he who blesses himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he who swears in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hidden from My eyes.” What is it in us that is hidden from God’s eyes? And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil. The true anointing, for that is what we bless ourselves with while here in the earth, covers all of our infirmities and sins, the burden of sin and the yoke of oppression that is still in our mortal flesh and are driven away by the anointing oil that we bless ourselves with. Mark 6:13 “And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them.” The anointing oil preserves us until the day of redemption. Acts 10:38 “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” Jesus the Anointed One walked about doing good and searching for those who were oppressed by the devil, and then He set them all free, for God was with Him. 2 Corinthians 1:21 “Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God.” The same God that anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power to drive out all the workers of iniquity, is the same God that has anointed us in Jesus Christ His anointed One in order for us to drive out all the workers of iniquity in our sphere of influence as well. And it is through the power of His anointing oil that the yoke will be destroyed. Pray as to what type of oil the Lord wants you to use, I usually get extra virgin olive oil which I can buy in the market and is not too expensive for me, but you can use whatever is available to you and that you believe it is acceptable before God. Get the oil, bring it before the Lord and ask Him to bless it, after it is blessed do not use that consecrated oil for nothing else but for anointing purposes. Previous Next

Pastor Marcos emphasizes that true intimacy with the Lord involves crossing into the spiritual realm, widening our understanding, and refusing to be hindered by temporary setbacks. Ultimately, Spiritual Encounters teaches that God’s sovereign interventions preserve our destinies, while our intentional pursuit of Him brings about profound personal transformation. The desired outcome of such encounters is not only deeper intimacy with Christ but also greater fruitfulness in both the spiritual and physical aspects of life. Inspired Teaching: Song of Solomon 3:1-2 “By night on my bed I sought the one I love; I sought him, but I did not find him. I will rise now, I said, and go about the city; in the streets and in the squares I will seek the one I love. I sought him but I did not find him.” There are two kinds of spiritual encounters between man and God, as far as our relationship with God’s plan for our lives is concerned. First is the kind where God reveals Himself to us, by way of an angel, personally, or in some supernatural manner, when we are not actively seeking Him. Such was the case with Saul of Tarsus, an encounter with God was the last thing on his mind as he traveled on the road to Damascus. The second form of an encounter with God is when we are actively seeking Him and some way or another He let’s us find Him. I believe the book of Song of Solomon has a wealth of information into the how to, of seeking a personal encounter with God. Let us look at the two different types of encounters and see if we can learn from this present lesson how to find favor with the Lord, and encounter His presence in a way that brings a life changing experience to us that results in our betterment. In the first type of encounter, God reveals Himself to a person for a specific purpose or reason. In Paul’s case it was for his conversion and called to future ministry, in other cases it could be for the protection of an individual, maybe to keep them from crossing a line from which there is no return. My first encounter with the physical manifestation of the presence of God was to keep me from making such a mistake. I was in a small boat fleeing the communist regime in Cuba in the Florida straights in August 1965, I brought two friends with me who were hiding under the small bow of the boat. We were hit by a strong tempest (chuvasco) and swamped by towering waves to the point that I thought the end of my life was at hand, as we were verily making it through that frontal line of menacing clouds in the middle of the night, we were almost struck by a cargo ship that was sailing in the middle of the storm. After seeing our SOS the cargo ship stopped to recue us, thinking they had hit us, we’ve maneuvered to the side of the cargo ship, by the hanged net they laid on the side of the ship in order for us to climb aboard the ship and out of the tempestuous sea. As my hand took hold of the net, an invisible man that was standing next to me told me to ask where they were going, I looked up to those who were waiting for us at the top of the net and asked them where were they going, something that you normally would not do when being rescued, it was a natural reaction to a supernatural prompting, the immediate answer came with an oriental accent; we are going to Havana! As if the net was charged with thousands of volts of electricity, my hand let go of it, and we sailed away as fast and as far as we could from that Chinese cargo ship that was headed to Havana, where we would have certainly been delivered into one of Castro’s many prisons. By next afternoon we encountered an island named Cay Sal and were spotted by a US navy plane that pointed us to that island, as soon as we knew that we were going to make it, the invisible man, an angel from the Lord, left, and in that instance all three of us looked at each other and wondered out loud, how is it that we were behaving as if there were four of us, when there is only three? All three of us knew he was there, we all felt his presence, I heard his voice, and we knew immediately when he left, yet we never saw him, neither did we comprehend his presence until after he departed. That evening a British warship picked us up from the island and took us to Port Everglades Florida, where we were welcome as refugees. I often pondered why did God do that miracle when none of us were even saved, and the only conclusion that I can come up with is that, had it not been for His sovereign intervention that night we would not have been able to fulfill God’s plan and destiny for our lives. I am sure that all of us will one day find out the countless times when the Lord intervened on our behalf, for the battles that God’s angels fight for us is a constant one. In the first type of encounter God is making sure that His plans for the individual’s life is not altered, so that the nature of the encounter is more functional in nature than personal, not so in the second type of encounter, for this encounter is very personal in nature, where God responds to those who seek to have a deeper, more personal relationship with Him. By night on my bed, I sought the one I love. It is not easy to position ourselves properly in order to have the opportunity of having the experience of a personal encounter with the Lord, such experiences are just as precious as they are rare, but our desire of them speaks volumes of how real and deep our love for Him is. What is it that is on our minds when we suddenly awake in the middle of the night, before the cares of this life come rushing in? The Shulamite, a type for the church in this story, wakes up longing for a personal encounter with the love of her life and then she decides to do something about it; she says, I will rise now and go about the city, obviously she is looking for Him. This is a sign for those of us who personally desire to have a life changing encounter with the Lord deep within our hearts, if suddenly we wake up in the middle of the night longing for Him, in response to that longing, we should get up and seek Him fervently in prayer. In the streets and in the squares, I will seek the one I love. The word for streets in the Hebrew has the idea of as run over something, almost like a bridge, from its root word that means to run after or over to something. The idea behind the word for streets is that of, we have to cross over, in our case it would imply that we have to cross over into the spiritual realm as we seek an encounter with our Lord, by putting all our physical limitations and suppositions behind us. The word translated squares literally means broad way or broad place, from its root word that means to broaden or to make wide. To seek the encounter with the One we love we must be willing to cross over into the spiritual realm, and in order to do this we have to widen or broaden our perspective of how the spiritual realm operates. We have to be willing to negate the perceived limitations that hinder us from entering into His presence and not be dissuaded from apparent failures. As the Shulamite says twice in our opening verses, I sought him, but I did not find him. Song of Solomon 3:3 “The watchman who go about the city found me; I said, ‘Have you seen the one I love?’” If the city is symbolic of the spiritual realm where she went searching for the one she loves, then the watchman is symbolic of the angels that police the spiritual realm, notice how she handled her encounter with them: Have you seen the one I love? She was not hesitant at all, she was determined in her commitment to find the one she loved. Song of Solomon 3:4 “Scarcely had I passed by them, when I found the one I love. I held him and would not let him go, until I had brought him to the house of my mother, and into the chamber (room) of her who conceived me.” This is an interesting insight into what drove her desire for an encounter with the one she loved. In the natural she was saying I want you to meet my mother, if you are in the dating stage of your life I do not have to tell you what that means, for you know that she means business once she asks you to meet her mother, what that means is that she is definitely serious about your relationship with her. But from the spiritual aspect, I looked at the words here that state, the chamber of her who conceived me. I think that this is a reference to the inner rooms of the heart, meaning that her goal all along was for this spiritual encounter to bring her Savior into the inner chambers of her heart, where spiritual conception takes place, she wanted to experience her loved one in a way that she had never experienced him before. Proverbs 20:27 “The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord, searching all the inner depths (literally: inner rooms of the belly) of his heart.” The difference then, between our first and second types of spiritual encounter is, that in the first type angels or watchers intervene on behalf of those whose destiny is threaten by the mischievousness of the devil against them. In the second type of encounter there is nothing that the angels can do, for in this type of encounter the human heart is the issue, and only God is qualified to deal with the issues of the heart, and He will never intrude into the human heart unless He is first, personally invited, and second, we make special preparations within us that will make Him feel welcome. Step number one: Song of Solomon 4:1 “Behold, you are fair, my love! Behold you are fair! You have dove’s eyes behind your veil (the curtain that covers the door that leads into our hearts). Your hair (covering) is like a flock of goats, going down from Mount Gilead.” The dove is the symbol for the Holy Spirit, and the veil represents the door to the inner rooms of our hearts, typified by the curtain that covers the entrance to the Holy of Holies in God’s Tabernacle. That means that we have to be born again, born of the Spirit of God if we want to experience this type of encounter with Jesus deep within our hearts, because that is where the Holy Spirit resides after we are born again, deep within our hearts. Step number two: Our covering, symbolized by the hair, has to be in place by being a part of the flock, the church, which is the body of Christ. Some believers are not properly covered because their pastors are in direct disobedience to the Word of God, hence they are not properly covered by their fellowship, which makes it a lot more difficult for them to have an experience of true intimacy with the Lord, especially when their leaders are proclaiming a different gospel that portrays another Jesus and a different spirit which they have not received. 2 Corinthians 11:4 “For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted—you may well put up with it (but the Lord will not).” In these matters we have to be very careful, for no church is perfect, but if you cannot tell the difference between your church and the world, then all your striving for a spiritual encounter with the real Jesus may be for naught. But remember this, never leave a fellowship to which you were called unless the Lord Himself calls you out of it first, and make sure that He confirms it before you act, that way you will not lose your true covering no matter where He leads you, for He will be your covering and your protection wherever you go. Step number three: Song of Solomon 4:2 “Your teeth are like a flock of shorn sheep which have come up from the washing, every one of which bears twins, and none is barren (bereaved) among them.” Our teeth represent the condition of the human soul, which is designed to reflect the Fruit of the Spirit of love who lives within us, which are: Love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, kindness, faithfulness, meekness, and self-control, for against these there is no law. We need to make sure that none of these qualities are lacking within us, for they adorn our inner man and make us to be more attractive to the Lord. Since we love and desire intimacy with Him we should desire to be more presentable: Which have come up from the washing. After all no body likes bad breath. 1 Peter 1:9 “Receiving the end (goal) of your faith—the salvation of your souls.” We can find many allegories in the book of Song of Solomon to help prepare us for a life changing experience with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. But let us make sure that our desire for intimacy always flows out of a grateful heart that knows the hell from which He has delivered us, having a sincere desire for true intimacy with Him should trump everything else. The results of such a spiritual encounter should be that of us becoming more fruitful in every aspect of both our spiritual and physical walk with Him. Amen! Previous Next

As dawn breaks, the imagery shifts from despair to triumph. Believers, gathered together, sense the call of God: “Arise my children, your hard service has been rendered.” The trumpet is about to sound, and eternity is dawning. The climax arrives with the appearance of Jesus Himself, clothed in glory, descending swiftly to claim His own. The narrator experiences the awe-filled transformation into a new, glorified body, overwhelmed with the cry: “Hallelujah, He kept His promise!” Ultimately, the message captures both the terror of judgment and the breathtaking hope of salvation, reminding readers of the urgency of faith and the certainty of Christ’s return. Inspired Teaching: In the early hours of the morning of that day, we knew that something awesome was about to happen. It was one of those things that cannot be explained yet, you know it is real. In a way it did not seem any different than any other morning if you just concentrated on the elements rather than the happenings around you, for this definitely was not like any other morning; this was the last morning on earth for millions of people around the world. By the time that the next evening would come, life would never be the same for the billions left behind. You see this was the dawn of the end times. At long last, after many words had been written on the subject and an endless parade of predictions, it was here, it had arrived, and it was real. The evening before had started with great apprehension, as people beheld in utter disbelief the news that a great vast army led by Russian troops and a formidable coalition of forces from three continents had been totally wiped out as with the stroke of a pen in an instant and their bodies litter the Israeli countryside. The bright flash of light that had consumed them could not be explained in any other terms than divine intervention. The world leaders and politicians at large were dumbfounded with a lack of an explanation, which was the norm for those in charge of reporting the news. There was no doubt in all quarters that the returned of Jesus Christ was now eminent and that the time of judgment was now here, and there was no way of escaping it. For those of us who had been waiting for this blessed event since the day of our conversion it seem to come upon us with mixed feelings, for in the chill of the early morning hours and as we realized that the hour of our redemption was almost upon us, we would soon be meeting face to face the one who had paid the full price of our redemption. We also realized that the majority of the people of the earth had been deceived and had rejected the creators’ offer of peace, and now only the awful expectation of judgment was all that was left for the peoples of the world. They tremble before the mighty signs but yet lacked the faith to repent and call upon the name that would save them, the name of Jesus. Panic has broken out in many places and mobs of people everywhere had gone into a rampage destroying, looting, burning and killing all who would get in their way; since this is the end they reasoned, they did not have to be accountable to any authorities here on earth, and utter rebellion to all forms of authority was their final act of defiance before God. For the people of the way this were apprehensive hours to say the least, for the undercurrent theme throughout the multitudes was that we were the ones to blame for the current occurrences, and vengeance against them seems to be the purest form of retribution. We had all come from different areas of the city, like drawn by an invisible force. We could tell just by looking at each other’s faces what we had in common in the middle of chaos, there was this peace and assurance, and a very reverent holy fear gripped us all. There wasn’t much talking among us, just a great deal of silent praying as we all had in our minds someone who we were not sure if they would have the strength to call on the name of Jesus amid their confusion. As I huddled with my family I glanced at the starry night and memories of days gone by flooded my mind. Life then just seemed so brief; It seemed like just yesterday I was a little boy, up in the early morning fishing with my dad. Feeling the early morning chill as I crawled towards the back of the boat to keep warm, enduring those hardships in the hope that the day would bring lots of fish and a great time with my dad. Hoping that I will catch that big one so that I will have something great to brag about to my friends. The glow of the fires illuminating the distant horizon brought me back to the reality of the moment. It was so real. How many times in our walk we felt like just giving up, without realizing how much was really at stake. And now there was no doubt as to what hangs on the balance of faith, for to deny Christ at this point in time is the greatest of all mistakes and one that would be regretted for eternity. How can something that seems so simple as exercising one’s faith be so hard? But there they were, multitudes in the valley of decision; since they had given themselves to believe the assurances of the world, that there is no God and that we humans had evolved, how can all of the sudden one give oneself to change one’s mind and belief? Just because of a few great signs, there must be a logical explanation for all these happenings. The greatest fear of all humanity at this point in time was that nobody had risen [yet] to the task of assuring the peoples of the world otherwise. In the other hand, for the people of the way all those years of reading and studying the bible trying to make sense of it all had paid off. All the events that were happening had such clarity to them, all those hidden things now made perfect sense. The breeze had changed direction as dawn approached and one could smell the burnt ashes of what used to be the hopes and dreams of mankind. The darkest hour of the night was nearly over and if one looked intensely towards the eastern skies, one could see the dawning of eternity for those whose hearts were filled with hope. But only the deepest of darkness remained for those who placed their hopes on the abilities of man, what they had trusted upon had betrayed them. If only there was another lie that they could believe, another reprieve to postpone the inevitable. We all as one got on our feet and began to gaze intensely towards the dawn. It was like an unheard voice was calling to each of us, “ARISE MY CHILDREN, YOUR HARD SERVICE HAS BEEN RENDERED.” It was finally over! As we stood there in the flesh, with the early morning breeze refreshing our souls for the last time in this body here on earth we knew that the trumpet was about to sound, and there was no going back. Oh, what a feeling! This would be the last time here on earth for us, in this body of sin. As I began to ponder as to how the transfer would take place, I saw HIM. He was dressed in a long white robe and was moving towards me rapidly. He was walking in the air at a very fast pace and yet He was moving at the same time, and it seemed at the speed of light. As he very rapidly approached me, I could see his face, and my eyes locked into his blazing eye. I could feel myself dying, for every fiber in my body trembled at his holy presence. My heart pounded loudly and out of control. I was so scared I could not keep from shaking, but as my flesh panted for air that it could not find, I found that from deep within me a new man was rising, and in a deep and clear voice it shouted “HALLELUJAH, HE KEPT HIS PROMISE”. As the struggle between the two was ending I felt a violent collision. JESUS had grabbed me right at the middle of the heart without slowing down and I suddenly moved at the speed of light through the air. I could feel my new body forming out of the old. My tongue which was plastered to the roof of my mouth because of the great speed at which we were traveling, could feel the missing teeth growing and my spirit could not stop shouting “HALLELUJAH, HE KEPT HIS PROMISE”. Just as God restored Israel after exile, believers today are called to return to the Lord, walk in the light of truth, and experience deliverance through Christ’s finished work. The apostolic foundation of the church, rooted in Christ the Chief Cornerstone, empowers believers to overcome darkness and stand ready for the rapture at the culmination of these apocalyptic events. Inspired Teaching: Zechariah 1:20 “Then the Lord showed me four craftsmen.” In the second vision that God revealed to Zechariah we are given a unique insight into the realm of spiritual warfare from an Old Testament perspective. It is my belief that all six of Zechariah’s visions are intricately connected to the prophecy in the book of Revelation about the four horseman of the Apocalypse that God had appointed to be revealed to those of us who are alive during the end of this age. Zechariah 1:8 “I saw by night, and behold, a man riding on a red horse, and it stood among the myrtle trees in the hollow; and behind him were horses: red, sorrel, and white.” In his first vision Zechariah sees horses of four different colors that the Lord sent to walk to and from throughout the earth. These different color horses are symbolic of the watchers that keep watch over the affairs of men and their relationship with God’s people here on the earth. Isaiah 62:6-7 “I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent, and give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.” If we understand the underpinning of Zechariah’s first vision we will be able to make better sense, not only of Zechariah’s second vision as it pertains to spiritual warfare, but about the spiritual warfare that is going on right now, for we are presently living in the days of the unveiling of the four horseman of the book of Revelation. Zechariah 1:11 “So they answered the Angel of the Lord, who stood among the myrtle trees, and said, ‘We have walked to and from throughout the earth, and behold, all the earth is resting quietly.’” The first thing that we need to recognize in order to make sense of the visions is that they revolved around the city of Jerusalem. For seventy years the Lord had removed the Jewish people from the land of Judah and from the city of Jerusalem, to give the land the Sabbath day of rest that they owed the land. When Moses lead the Israelites out of Egypt, he instructed them that when they entered into the land that the Lord was giving them, that they were suppose to give the land a year of rest every seven years. No sowing and no reaping, they had to trust the Lord to provide for them a double harvest during the six years that would last them for the whole seventh year that they were not supposed to be tilling the land. They violated the law of the Sabbath rest for the land, for four hundred and ninety years consecutively, so that they owed the land seventy years of rest: 490 / 7 = 70 years. When the time for God’s judgment fell upon them, God used the nations of the earth to remove them from the land and to keep them out of the land for the seventy years that they owed. Zechariah 1:12 “Then the Angel of the Lord answered and said, ‘O Lord of hosts, how long will You not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which You were angry these seventy years?’” Zechariah, in his first vision is privy to an event that is taking place in the spiritual realm; he sees horses and asked what they mean. After he is told that they are the watchers that watch over the affairs of men, the Angel of the Lord speaks to God in front of Zechariah, reminding God that the seventy years are now over. God answers the Angel of the Lord with good and comforting words in verse thirteen. Then the reason is revealed as to why the Lord had given Zechariah a ringside seat, if you will, to what was going on in the spiritual realm, after he is told that he is to prophesy, within the context of all that he had witnessed, to the Jews that were in exile. Zechariah 1:14-15 “So the angel who spoke with me said to me, "proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: I am zealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with great zeal. I am exceedingly angry with the nations at ease; for I was a little angry, and they helped—but with evil intent.’” The Lord reveals that He is angry with the nations that He used to remove the Jews from Jerusalem and from the land of Judah, because of their evil intent while He was using them against His own people. As always the Lord’s judgments against the nations of the earth have to do with how they treated or mistreated His own people. Remember what God told Abraham when He entered into a covenant with him? I will bless those who bless you and I will curse those who curse you. Then Zechariah proceeded to proclaim to the Jews of his day that God was restoring them back into the land from where they had been exiled for seventy years, and that God would again choose Jerusalem as its capitol. Which leads us right into the second vision that deals with how the Lord removes the demonic strongholds that Satan placed over the nation of Israel, when he took advantage of them, while they were in exile for their disobedience to the commandments that God gave them through Moses. Zechariah 1:18 “Then I raised my eyes and looked, and there were four horns.” Zechariah’s first vision began at night, which is symbolic of the spiritual darkness that was all around the nation of Israel at that time. In the second vision the Lord is revealing to Zechariah the source of the spiritual darkness that is all around him. Zechariah 1:19 “And I said to the angel who talked with me, ‘What are these?’ So he answered me, ‘These are the horns (powers) that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.’” When God’s hand of blessing is over a people, there is absolutely nothing that the devil can do against them, for our God is Almighty. The enemy knows that, as long as God’s protection is over His people, he is powerless against them, so he is always at work to temp those who belong to God into rebelling against God. Obedience to God always brings enlightenment, and disobedience to God always brings darkness. Zechariah 1:2-3 “The Lord has been very angry with your fathers. Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: Return to Me,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘And I will return to you,’ says the Lord of hosts.” The Lord was very angry with the fathers because of their disobedience to the commandment of God in regards to their obligation to give the land a year of rest every seventh year. Now that their debt is paid in full, for they have been out of the land for seventy years, they can be restored back to their land if they return to the Lord first, and acknowledge that without God in their midst they are in darkness. Zechariah 1:20-21 “Then the Lord showed me four craftsmen. And I said, ‘What are these coming to do?’ So he said, ‘These are the (four) horns (powers) that scattered Judah, so that no one could lift up his head; but the craftsmen are coming to terrify them, to cast out the horns of the nations that lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter it.’” In warfare whoever controls the high ground has the advantage over their adversary; because of their disobedience to the Word of God Israel was put at a disadvantage where they could not lift up their heads and have a clear picture of their spiritual condition. Now that they are returning to God, the Lord sends them four craftsmen or carpenters to dismantle the demonic infrastructure that prevents them from regaining the upper hand, the lifting up of their heads. Notice the language that the angel uses that describes how these demonic hordes will be terrified by these four craftsmen before they are cast out. What are these four craftsmen symbolic of? 2 Corinthians 12:12 “Truly the signs of an apostle were accomplished among you with all perseverance, in signs and wonders and mighty deeds.” The four craftsmen are symbolic of the apostolic anointing! The apostolic anointing is the force that God brings about to dismantle the four horns or powers that keep God’s children in darkness. What are the four horns symbolic of? Galatians 5:19-21 “Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outburst of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God (which is light, and those who practice those things are still in darkness).” The four horns are symbolic of the works of the flesh! PERVERSION: Adultery, Fornication, Uncleanness and Lewdness. DIVISION: Hatred, Contentions, Envy and Jealousies. FALSE RELIGION: Idolatry, Sorcery, Dissensions and Heresies. MALFUNCTION: Outbursts of Wrath, Murder, Drunkenness and Revelries. At the center ofcourse is Selfish Ambition the soul motivator before we became born-again. I took the liberty of dividing them into four categories that revolve around the self motivated soul. The number seventeen is the seventh prime number. Zechariah’s first vision is recorded in chapter one, beginning in verse seven to verse seventeen. A clear double emphasis that the Holy Spirit reveals to us to show us how important to our present day Zechariah’s visions are. Also, all of us have sixteen great-great-grandparents in our family tree, and if you form a pyramid with self sitting on top of it, with two parents directly below, four grandparents below them, eight great-grandparents below them and sixteen great-great-grandparents as the foundation of the pyramid, it shows how our soul is affected by the iniquity of the fathers which is with whom the Lord was angry in Zechariah 1:2. 0 = 1 Self 0-0 = 2 Parents 0-0-0-0 = 4 Grandparents 0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0 = 8 Great-grandparents 0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0 = 16 Great-great-grandparents. Exodus 20:5-6 “You shall not bow down to them nor serve (worship) them (idols). For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me (idolatry is seen by God as hatred towards Him), but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.” We are living in the age of grace, and the church has been established on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets, with our Lord Jesus Christ as the Chief Cornerstone. The time for our redemption is now, for our sin debt that we owed God has been fully paid for by our Savior on the cross. As the Lord spoke during Zechariah’s day, that if we return to Him He will return to us. We are living in the days right now when those that call upon the name of the Lord will be saved. But remember also that with our salvation comes deliverance from the forces of darkness that kept us bound. It is the apostolic anointing that terrifies the devil, for through its revelation we become empowered. Remember the words of Jesus, You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free! Yes, we are living in the days of the white horse, the antichrist, for there are many out there striving to deceive those of us who are the children of light. Yes, we are living in the days of the red horse, the days of war and terror as our Lord predicted. Yes there is a global economy being forged right now that is paving the way for a one world government, the black horse that will control all commerce and all of its financial transactions. The pale horse whose rider is death, followed closely by Hades, soon will be given power to bring war over one fourth of the earth. This is the conflict that will usher in the rapture of the church; let’s be ready for it. Zechariah 2:10/13 “Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! Welcome and happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. God bless each and every one of you. Amen. Welcome. This message is called Give It to God, Psalm 3. Let's open up in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word. We ask that our ears are open, our eyes are open, that we could see and hear your word, and that our hearts and minds are open, that we receive, apply, live it, and don't forget it. Lord, thank you for your word to live within us. And thank you for your son, Jesus. Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins. And thank you for showing us how to give it to you and to be blessed and saved because we gave it to you in the glorious name of Jesus. Amen. Amen. Amen. Let's go to our opening scripture here. Very excited about this message. First, I taught a brief version of this Tuesday night at Empower Hour. Um basically gave everyone some homework. So, we're going to elaborate further on those scriptures in this message because I can go a little longer here. And um you know, as you know, we're getting ready to move out of state. So, this is something I plan to continue to be blessed with and continue to delve into on Tuesday nights with this church here. It's a beautiful gem of a church. If you're in the local area, this is something you want to come and see. They God's anointing is there is there is awesome. I truly enjoy it. All right, let's go to our opening scripture here. We're going to start in the very first two scriptures of Psalm 3 1-2. David is writing and he says, "Lord, how they have increased who trouble me. Many are they who rise up against me. Many are they who say of me. There is no help for him in God. Sah." All right. So, let's lay some foundation work here because to understand this psalm and to understand what David said in this psalm, why he said it, we have to go back and look at the situation that he's in at this moment. Because I'm going to tell you right now, that's the thing is there's people here who are not really grasping the situation that David is in. He is in a very remarkable situation because we deal with family dynamics. uh each of us have brothers and sisters, aunts, uncles, parents, children. We all have to deal with our personalities that tend to clash in the family dynamics. So, you're going to see what David does here and you're going to see the deliverance, the salvation take place. It is truly an awesome message that I'm It's worth teaching twice. Amen. All right. So, we're going to go back to 2 Samuel here because we want to go back to what David is dealing with. So, we need to go to 2 Samuel chapter 13. We're going to start here in verses 37-39. But Abselam fled and went to Talmi, the son of Amihood, king of Geisher, and David mourned for his son every day. I want to pause there. So, Abselam is David's thirdborn son. And his mother's name is Maaka. Sorry, I may have butchered that. I humbly apologize. Uh, but basically, um, here's this young man, Absilon. Actually, a very handsome man. Apparently, he had some thick, gorgeous hair that all the women went after. Um, apparently he had it cut once a year and it weighed about 200 shekels. I don't know what that means, but I know that it was heavy. He had to have it cut every year because it was heavy. But you know us girls, we like a good head of hair and we all wish we had it in our own hair. Amen. Anyway, so here's Abselam. He is doing something that something happened here. So David's got many wives. He's got all these children. They're stepchildren, step halfiss, half sisters, half brothers. And uh he Abselon ends up killing one of David's other sons named Amnan. Amnan had an infatuation with his sister Tamar. Uh he was so in love with her he ends up raping her. Uh he ends up u then hating her viciously. And Abselum was just so hurt by the situation that he went and killed his brother Amnan. And he figured out a way to do it. He leaves the family. He goes away. He's fleeting. That's the scripture we're in right now. Eventually, when Abselon has his own children, excuse me, I'm getting over a cold. When he starts to have his own children, one of his daughters he names Tamar. So, she he you can tell there was something there that Abselon loved his sister and he hated his brother. He went and killed him. So, here he is fleeting fleeing. Let's go take a look at the scripture. And I pray, Lord, let my speech come out eloquently. Let's do this right. Amen. All right, let's do this. Um, so Abselum, but Abselum fled and went to Talmi, the son of Amihood, king of Gisher. And David more mourned for his son every day. That's his son Amnan he's referring to. So Abselum fled and went to Gisher and was there three years. And King David longed to go to Abselum for he had been comforted concerning Amnan because he was dead. So basically David has moved on from the death of his son Amnan. he really wanted to have um a restoration between him and Abselum. And a lot of time goes by and there's there's this dynamics now where you've got a father and a son who just don't come together in forgiveness. And you're going to see that play a huge role here. It changes the dynamics of everything. Let's continue on. We're going to be now in chapter 14. We're going to read verses 19- 21. So the king said, "Is the hand of Joab with you in all this?" All right, let's pause here for a moment. So Joab sees what's going on between David and Abselum. So Joab decides to try to make an effort. He gets Abselum. He brings him back to the city and basically David refuses to go see him. So that's what's going on here. So Abselon sends this woman to David and she ends up talking about two sons that she had. One kills the other. Now the justice system is trying to kill the other son and she's like, "I'm not going to have an inheritance." She goes to David about this. So David says, "I promise you we're not going to kill your other son." And she speaks up. Now let's look at what and and notice the king, by the way, is going to figure out Joab was involved with this. So this is the king now figuring out what's going on. David's figuring out. So he says to the king, "Is the hand of Joab with you in all this?" And the woman answered and said, "As you live, my lord the king, no one can turn to the right hand or to the left from anything that my lord the king has spoken. For your servant Joab commanded me," and he put all these words in the mouth of your servant to bring this about this change of affairs. Your servant Joab has done this thing. But my lord is wise according to the wisdom of the angel of God to know everything that is in the earth." And the king said to Job, "All right, I have granted this thing. Go therefore bring back the young man Abselum. So now he gives him back. But you're going to find here he refuses to see him. David, King David refuses to see him. Look, look at here. David, as much as he's the apple of God's eye, he's got a lot of issues. I mean, he had an affair with Basheba and God and then kills her husband because now she's about to have a child that's his and he actually murders someone. So, David's got issues, but God keeps blessing him. I really want you guys to see that. You know, it doesn't matter who you are. As long as you believe in Christ and you keep giving it to the Lord and just keep seeking the presence of the Lord, your humanity does define you, but Jesus over impressions that he he overcomes that and you get change as you mature. And you're going to see David go through this maturity level here when he forgives Abselon. This is truly amazing. This is so remarkable that you have to understand that the spirit of God is involved with this. This is not a human thing. Okay? Want you to understand that. All right. Let's go look. Joab goes to bring back uh Abselon. This is in 14:23. So Joab arose and went to Gher and brought Abselon to Jerusalem. And the king said, "Let him return to his own house, but do not let him see my face." So Abselon returned to his house, but did not see the king's face. you will find that David refuses him for three years. So David is like, "All right, you can bring him back. I'm not going to kill the kid." Okay, he he but he he's not going to forgive him either. Now, unforgiveness causes death in the long term. You hold on to unforgiveness, you hold on to bitterness, you will eventually die of some sort of cancer, blood disease or something because you were unforgi you could not forgive. You see, Jesus forgave you of your sins. He forgave me of my sins. And if he can forgive us, as long as you forgive others, he will forgive you as well. Let it go. Give it to God. You're going to see how we do that here very shortly. Let's continue on and see the transactions that you can see now we have this um unresolved relationship between David and Abselum. And now you're going to see how it blows out of proportion. Let's continue on and see their lives and what happens here. Now we're in verses 25 and 26 in chapter 14. And this is 2 Samuel we're still in. Now in all Israel there was no one who praised as much as Abselon for his good looks. From the sole of his foot to the crown of his head, there was no blemish in him. And when he cut the hair of his head, at the end of every year, he cut it because it was heavy on him. When he cut it, he weighed the hair of his head at 200 shekels according to the king's standard. So, very beautiful young man. All the women loved him. The people loved him. He's the son of the king. He's got a lot of favors and blessings going his way. Look at what happens here. This is now verse 33. So Joab went to the king and told him and when he had called for Abselon, he came to the king and bowed himself on his face to the ground before the king. Then the king kissed Abselon. So eventually three years go by. You can go read the in between verses here. Otherwise, if I read all of it, the time we've really run out of time, but basically Abselum gets frustrated. He's in Jerusalem. He is waiting there. Three years go by. His dad won't see him. So he Joab had a field next to where Abselon was staying. And so Abselon burns Joab's field. Job goes, "Why'd you do that?" And Abselon says, "You brought me here. You got to get my dad to see me." And so this dynamic is going on. And here Joab is playing a third party role in here. And so now finally Joab convinces David to see his son. His son sees him and kisses him. But notice there's still no resolution. What else happened? Where did this go? Let's go to chapter 15:es 1-6. Look at this. After this, it happened that Abselum provided himself with chariots and horses and 50 men to run before him. So Abselum is welcomed back into the city. He's welcomed back into the kingdom. He is the prince's son, the the king's son, a prince, and he has an inheritance, but he decides to do something here. So, let's look at what he decides to do. Because now you're going to see the heart of Absilon. You're going to see what this guy is really like on the inside. He might look good on the outside, ladies, but sometimes we got to go for the other ones because man, the heart on the inside is what the heart is. In this case, it's not very pretty. 50 men to run before. In verse two, now Abselum would rise early and stand beside the way to the gate. So it was whenever anyone who had a lawsuit came to the king for a decision that Abselon would call to him and say what city are you from and he would say your servant is from such and such tribe of Israel. Then Abselon would say to him look your case is good and right but there is no deputy of the king to hear you. Moreover Abselon would say oh that I were made judge in the land and everyone who has any suit or cause would come to me. that I would give him justice. And so it was whenever anyone came near to bow down to him that he would put out his hand and take him and kiss him. In this manner, Abselom acted toward all Israel who came to the king for judgment. So Abselom stole the hearts of the men of Israel. Now, just so you understand what's going on here, people would come up to the gate and they would be allowed in to bring their case to the king. The king was the judge. He's the acting judge. He's the one who made all the decisions for the people's cases. And Abselum decided to intervene, bring it on himself. Now, you know, I'm sure they told David and I'm sure he's looking at this going maybe this is uh he's my son. He could be the future king here. Maybe he needs to learn it. Let him do it. So, there's now this dynamic that's happening. Absalom is basically saying, "I'll take care of your case. I scratch your back, you scratch mine. Quit proquo." So now the people are falling for Absilon. They They have a thing for him. They are realizing, "Hey, he's got a lot of potential. Future king on our hands." H I wonder what that means. I mean, let let's think about this for a minute. Is there anything wrong with that? He took the role of a functioning king, limited the role to the king and brought it to himself to the people like a deceiver would come in between God and the Christian who trust in God. Think about that for a moment. When deception comes in, it's so subtle and yet this this was very subtle. So subtle that 40 years go by and nobody realized what's going on. Let's continue. Let's read. Let's find out what else is going on in the king's life and in this prince's life. So now verses seven and 8. Now it came to pass after 40 years that Abselon said to the king, "Please let me go to Hebron Hebron and pay the vow which I made to the Lord. For your servant took a vow while I dwelt at Gisher in Syria, saying, "If the Lord indeed brings me back to Jerusalem, then I will serve the Lord." Pause. We know that the scriptures are complete and they tell the truth. And you can find this in in Chronicles and in Samuel. You'll find that you've got man's version and you've got God's version written here. I will tell you this much. Abselon did not make that kind of a vow 40 years earlier when he was in Geisher. He did not. How do I know this? Because this is the first time you're hearing of it 40 years later. Almost as if it magically just appeared in his mind that, oh wait, I did talk to God. I made a vow to him. And he ends up believing it. And now he's saying to his father, let me go to Hebron. By the way, where did King David rule first? in Hebron. Do you see what the enemy is sneaking in to do now? He's been, you know, and David is the acting gobetween between God and his people. He's the one that has the in between. And so the people are blessed because David is blessed because David's going to God. So people go to David. David goes to God. God goes to David. David comes to the people. Now Abselum is skipping the God part. So you have a godly people and you have an ungodly people and you can see a line of division taking place. So now Abselum is ready to make his move. He thinks he has enough people on his side. Let's continue on and read what else happens here. It's very important. Now we're in verses 10 and 11 chapter 15. Then Abselon sent then Abselum sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel saying as soon as you hear the sound of the trumpet. Then you shall say Abselum reigns in Hebron. And with Abselum went 200 men invited from Jerusalem. And they went along innocently and did not know anything. Oh, look at how subtle his dark secret comes out in the word of God, doesn't it? So now he's declaring himself as king in Hebron when the nation of Israel already has a king and they're all united under David. So let's see what happens because now we're going to figure out what's going on. So now a messenger, this is verses 13 and 14. Now a messenger came to David saying the hearts of the men of Israel are with Abselum. So David said to all his servants who were with him at Jerusalem, "Arise and let us flee, or we shall not escape from Abselum, make haste to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly and bring disaster upon us and strike the city with the edge of the sword." Okay, this is very, very important. David has more people on his side. The nation is for him. If he stood up and made a stand, the people would stand for him and they will overcome Abselum. But David didn't make that decision. He decides to leave Abselon alone and step aside. That's crazy. But you have to understand David. David David has a very interesting history throughout the Bible. He's the most spoke about king in the Bible. And he he had the opportunity to kill King Saul twice. I mean, he was at the foot of King Saul, and David said, "I ain't messing with God's anointed." You see, David understood who God is. Even when he uh had the affair with Basheba, they killed her husband Uriah, God took that baby and took him home. Didn't let David and Basheba raise him. For whatever reason, God took him. But David begged and begged and begged. God said no. David already understood that his son that he didn't get to know and didn't get to raise was in God's hands. A much better place for the record. So David now sees his other son who's now grown. He's his own man trying to take over the kingdom. And instead of causing death and destruction between the two houses, he decides to let him be and he's going to let God deal with it. He is doing this because he doesn't want anyone else to die. It is an internal family matter. Yes, it does affect the whole nation because he is king. But at the same time, everyone who serves him follows him and he knows what God can do. So David decides to flee. Now in Psalm when we read verses 1 and two, we're going to get back to that here in just a moment. David begins a journey. He leaves Abselum. He decides to step aside and he goes on a journey and things come out of the woodworks. Let's go take a glimpse of that right here. We're now in chapter 16:es 5-8. Now when King David came to Bahurim, there was a man from the family of the house of Saul. Now remember, he didn't kill King Saul, he had the opportunity to, but King Saul died in war. An arrow hit him and then his armor bearer took his life. That's how King Saul died. Now look at what this guy who is a descendant of him whose name was Sheime the son of Ger coming from there he came out cursing continuously as he came there was a man from the family of the house of Saul yeah so he's part of the house I don't know if he's actually a family member ancestor might just be somebody who supported King Saul's family not sure again you can delve into these scriptures and and learn about this on your own. This message is already long as it is, so I'm trying to keep things as brief as I could. But whose name was Shimmy, the son of Garrett, coming from there, he came out cursing continuously as he came. He threw stones at David. And all the servants of King David, and all the people, and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left. And Shimmy said thus when he cursed, "Come out! Come out, you bloodthirsty man, you rogue. The Lord has brought upon you all the blood of the house of Saul in whose place you have reigned. And the Lord has delivered the kingdom into the hand of Abselum, your son. So now you are caught in your own evil because you are a bloodthirsty man. Here comes all the curses. So you can see now that now that people are getting more bold because Absilon has declared himself king of Hebron people are now looking they're thinking maybe we do need a new king somebody fresh young uh sounds attractive he's he did this for me did you know that and you know all the rumors are flying and David doesn't say anything he just steps aside. Look at what happens here next. If I recall, um, and David, so Aishi and all his servants, see how my son who came from my own body, he's talking now. David is talking to Aishai in his servants. See how my son who came from my own body seeks my life. How much more now may this Benjamite basically this guy, what's his name again? Abishai. He says to David prior to these scriptures, "You want me to go chop his head off?" By the way, David's army is the most remarkable army I have ever recognized. Um, they are men of God, but they are men of war. They're bloodthirsty men. They truly are. They They would rather kill you and apologize later than to question you and find out what's going on. So this guy says to David, "You want me to go chop his head off?" He did ask. At least Joab doesn't. You're going to find out about Joab here in a little bit. Joab doesn't ask. Joab is really one of those that uh I think modern day CEOs would love to have him because he would get things done. But anyways, he's asking Dave, "You want me to go chop his head off?" Here's David's response. He says, "He seeks my life. How much more now this Benjamin let him alone and let him curse? For so the Lord has ordered him. You notice this? He's recognizing that God's in control here. And the Lord ordered this guy to curse him. And he's recognizing this. Wait a minute. I'm getting cursed by my friends, by the doctors, by my work, by the road. All these people flipping their fingers off. I mean, all I am is doing. I'm in my lane. They're the ones who crossed over into my lane. Blah blah blah blah. that all these curses are coming along and David says the Lord ordered him. There's a whole different way of thinking here, isn't there? Look at David. Look at this man of God. Look at this. Let him curse for the Lord has ordered him. It may be that the Lord will look on my affliction and that the Lord will repay me with good for his cursing this day. There's something David understood here. You see, remember, he didn't kill King Saul because he says, "I'm not messing with God's anointed." He knew King David knew he's God's anointed. He's the king of the nation of Israel. He was established. Samuel anointed him. He knew this was his kingdom. Even though he stepped aside, he knew he was on God's side. So, he steps aside saying, "Let him curse." Cuz he knew that curse was going to bounce off of him and go back to him. And which then he also knew then that means I'm gonna be blessed for it. Let them curse. What you're gonna find out here at the end of Psalm here in just a minute how they don't have a bite. Let them curse. It means nothing as long as you're God's anointed. You come before God. You humble yourself before God and you don't curse back. Look at what David is showing us. Showing us this. let it go. Give it to God attitude in his life in the actual circumstance he's dealing with. And we're talking life and death here. Because if his son had enough people, they would come after him and they're going to kill him. He This is life and death. But instead, he says, "Let him curse. Let him curse." So, let's go back to Psalm three real quick because I want you to know, now you see David where he is. You got his son who's got now a small following. You've got him on his journey and these guys are cursing him. Excuse me. Cursing him. He gets up to the top of this mountain. He's got his hood on, his robe on and he's coming to God and he's praying. Watch. Let's look at all the stuff. So first saying, he talks about all the people coming out of the woodworks. It's what we read earlier. Lord, how they have increased who trouble me. Many are they who rise up against me. Many are they who say of me, there is no help for him in God. Look at that Benjamite that came out that was of Saul. He came out and tell him, you know what? This is God removing you. You see that? I mean, how does this Benjamite doesn't know that? But here, David is saying, here they all come, Lord. Here they come. He's talking to God. He's speaking. You need to speak, Lord. And you put Lord Jesus over your circumstance, and salvation takes place. Watch this. Let's continue on verse three. But you, oh Lord, are a shield for me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head. Now imagine, put put yourself in David's shoes, which you probably can. You've got your family members, not all of them get along, even parents to children. You have grandparents. There the dynamics of the family situation in the world today is horrific. There are very few families that hold it together, but there there are there's some there. It's just that there's not very many. So then you have those you've got your work. You've got our whole economy. You got our presidency. You got our government. The way things are going. I mean, all hell's breaking loose. Your head is weary. It is down. But you say, "Lord, Lord Jesus." Oh, look what happens when David does this. I cried to the Lord with my voice and he heard me from his holy hill sa I laid down and slept. I awoke for the Lord sustained me. He cried. His head was weary. He had it down on his table or on his pillow. He was curled up in a ball and he's crying Lord and he knew that Lord heard him heard him and he slept. Remember Jesus the Sea of Galilee on the ship and it's being battered by a storm and the the people on board are like what are you doing sleeping? We're about to die. Jesus is like, "I'm at peace. What are you talking about?" And he tells the storm to stop. He spoke to the storm. David spoke to God. Both actions required speaking. Could David have spoken to his son? To the people? Sure. But he went to God, which was the better way to handle this. Jesus is the son of God. So Jesus, he heard his people on that ship come to him. Aren't you even afraid? Because they're now talking to him. They spoke. Lord, aren't you afraid? They spoke. You know, you can go to God and say, you know what, Lord, I'm scared of this situation. I don't know what's going on. I know you're there. You haven't moved. I see you sleeping, but wake up because I need you. Jesus woke up and he spoke because you went to him. cuz you spoke. Oh, you guys got to give it and you give it to the Lord. You let it go. David had deliverance. If you ever go into the deliverance ministry, the one thing you will see and know and understand is people weep. They break on the inside and they let it go. That's exactly what David did. And he slept. Then he awoke and he says, "The Lord sustained me." Let's continue. Look at this. I lay down and I slept. I woke for the Lord sustained me. And then look at this. I will not be afraid of 10 thousands of people who have set themselves around me. Look at this here. He was weary. He was his head was so heavy. He he he was broken on the inside. But he called on God. Now his spirit man on the inside all of a sudden got strength, holiness, and says, "I'm not going to be afraid of these 10,000 people." For the record, he had more people than Abselum anyways. And his men were seasoned men who killed. David just said the commandment, they did it. So he outnumbered them. He outmanned them in the sense of these are men that were seasoned warriors. So David had this one, but at the same time here he is before the Lord crying to the Lord cuz he couldn't see it. Part of it is this is his son and he's realizing God is probably going to take my son away. But remember David had already learned the lesson about this. I think I'm going to teach on this next time. God has a place for people after death. And David understood this. I'm just going to say that here for now because I want to teach on that in more depth with a lot more scripture. But I'm telling you here and now. David knew the God he served. He knew what he had done already with his one son. He knew he would take care of his second son. He knew David now was at peace and he knew what would take place. All right. So now let's go back to Abselon because now Abselon is attempting to maneuver the army, go after David. He's attempting to do this. Let's go look and see the scriptures that talk about this. So here is we're in chapter 18. We're going to read verses 9-1 15. Then Abselum met the servants of David. So they're kind of having a like a talk about what they're going to do and come up with this. So here Abselon's meeting with the servants of David and Abselon rode on a mule. Now this mule went under the thick bows of a great terabin tree and his head, this is Abselon's head, got caught in the terabin. So he was left hanging between heaven and earth. And the mule which was under him went on. So the mule kept going and that thick luscious head of hair ladies got stuck in the tree and he couldn't get himself out and he was hanging there. He was stuck. That's a God thing. Yeah. I'm just saying. Think of Hollywood. They trip up and get lost in their own beauty. What they think is beauty. And here the Lord got Abselon hanging here on a tree. Now let's continue. I want to read this. Now a certain man, verse 10. Now a certain man saw it and told Joab and said, I just saw Abselon hanging in a terabith tree. I don't mean to laugh, but at the same time, that's funny because, you know, this this guy's like, he sees him there. He doesn't know what to do, but he's like, I'm not touching him. You see, this is a guy that follows David and knows, don't touch God's anointed. Not that this guy's anointed. He's the son of the king. So, he's like, I'm not touching David's son. But he's telling Joab, remember I told you about Joab, told you about these people, this man especially, he likes to kill and then apologize later. Let's read the scripture. So Joab said to the man who told him, "You just saw him and why did you not strike him there to the ground? I would have given you 10 shekels of silver in a belt." But the man said to Job, "Though I were to receive a thousand shekels of silver in my hand, I would not raise my hand against the king's son. For in our hearing the king commanded you and Abishai and it saying beware lest anyone touch the young man Amselon. So David already warned him don't you dare kill him. Don't you dare do it. And look what happens here. Otherwise I would have dealt falsely against my own life because this man is still talking to Joab. And for there is nothing hidden from the king and you yourself would have set yourself against me. In other words, what he's saying is, "If I had killed him, you would have killed me." Simple as that. So, look what Joab responds with. Then Joab said, "I cannot linger with you." And he took three spears in his hand and thrust them through Abselum's heart while he was still alive in the midst of the Terabin tree. And 10 young men who bore Joab's armor surrounded Abselum and struck and killed him. Apologize later. Kill him now. So Joab took matters into his own hand. Remember though, let's take a look at potential scenarios here. You you got to understand this. Absolum hung there for who how long? So this guy sees him. He has to leave, go see Joab, which is probably over a hill. Could have taken 15 minutes, half an hour, maybe an hour. Then you know they had their little argument and Joab has to come back to kill him. So it's a potential hour there that this guy hung. Did this guy Abselum call on God? He had plenty of opportunity. God put him in a in a situation where no one could help him unless he reached out to God. And Abselum did not reach out to God. You don't repent. You don't come to God. you don't give up your unforgiveness, you will die. Whether it's in a tree with your hair or through cancer or blood disease, all because of unforgiveness, because of bitterness or desire. Maybe he really wanted to be king and figured now's my time to become king. Whatever the motive was, he was unrepentive, which tells me if you repent, you will live a long and blessing of a life. Why? Because that's what God does. He blesses his anointed. You repent, you become his anointed. Understand that. Grasp that. Let's go back to Psalm 3 now and see what else David says about this because I want you to see the conclusion of the matter. Because now again, he loses a son. But watch verse 7. Arise, O Lord, save me, oh my God, for you have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone. You have broken the teeth of the ungodly. Now I'm going to stop. David felt the pressure of the situation he was in. Now remember, he's the one who fled. He stepped aside. He decided to let God handle the situation. But David felt the pressure because how many people came out of the woodworks to vote for Abselum, live for Abselum, curse him at the same time. So he felt the pressure. He had a bite on his arm. It hurt. The pressure was there, but God kicked the teeth out of their mouth. And guess what? They were gumming him in the spirit. They could not break through him because they had no teeth. They had no cheekbone, no strength in their mouth. It was just gummy. There was no real danger of any real pressure of being killed or anything for David. It was not there. felt like it because there was pressure there. But you know how many times you play with a kitten or a puppy and they bite, but they don't have the fully formed teeth. They're they're it doesn't hurt. It doesn't break your skin. It's just a little pressure. It's cute. Do you see what David is acknowledging here? He is telling you that you all hell's broken loose. But he went to God. He said, "Lord, and now he says the Lord took their bite." They have no bite. They can only gum you. And even gumming, depending how how much of a bite they try to take, they can't get a whole lot with just gumming you. That goes to show how ineffective the enemy is against a believer in God who says, "Lord, say it. Speak it." Look what happens next. The last verse here in Psalm three verse eight salvation belongs to the Lord. Your blessing is upon your people. Say salvation being saved. You're saved to this situation. And guess what? He David is acknowledging that you want to get saved that belongs to the Lord. Don't try to save yourself. Go to God and he will save you. It belongs to the Lord. Oh, and then your blessing is upon your people. And then the blessings pour out on his people. All those people that chose to follow Abselum, they disappeared quickly, pledged faltty to King David, and the nation came back together. There was never though any resolution of forgiveness between David and Abselum. And I'm sure David's preference, by the way, would have been that. But he had to give it to the Lord because that unforgiveness had fettered festered, excuse me, for 40 years. God knew the hardness of the heart. He knew the condition of the heart of Abselum. But David trusted God enough to know that even if you take him, he belongs to you, not me. Even though he's my son, he belongs to you. And what you choose to do with him, I know that when I will be in your presence, cuz someday we will all be in the presence of the Lord eventually. We will be comforted and at peace because we can trust in the Lord with what happens after death. Can't see it now, but we'll know when we get there. What a powerful word of God. Let it go. Give it up. Give it to the Lord and say, "Lord, you take care of this." Imagine saying that over your family members, over your finances, over your body, your health. So, you swell up. tell God he's Lord of Jesus over your inflamed body or um swollen body. You know, as we age, these are the things that we have to deal with as we age. But if you put the Lord first, he takes good care of it. Amen. Amen. Amen. Give it to the Lord. Let it go. And watch God's salvation work in your life. He will move mountains. He will move the desert. He will move everything to make certain that he blesses you because you gave it to him. Imagine if everyone was doing that. Oh my goodness. What kind of world would we be living in? Huh? Oh, anyways, this is an awesome message. Let's close in a word of f in a word of prayer. Father God, thank you for your blessing and your anointing in your word. And we thank you and I I pray that people hear this, respond and receive and and walk in it, Father God. letting go of their unforgiveness, letting go of their pain and suffering and saying, "Lord, you are Lord Jesus over this." And I give it to you. And I pray, Lord, that you walk in the principle of your word, which I know you are honorable and faithful to do so. And then I look forward to seeing people's lives changed because they said, "Lord, thank you for your word, Father God, in the glorious name of Jesus." Amen. Amen. God bless you. In Jesus’ name amen! 1 John 2:27 NKJV 27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you [a]will abide in Him. What is the anointing? It’s something that God gives you, the believer, that abides in you. It allows you to be taught the Word of God by this ‘anointing’ and not man. It is truthful and not misleading nor is it contaminated by man’s way of thinking or beliefs. First, we need to ask ourselves what is the anointing because once we recognize what that is, we can move to the next step, abiding in Him, to activate this anointing. Acts 2:2-3 NKJV 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them [a]divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. On April 9, 1906, we saw this same thing happen on Azusa street, downtown Los Angeles. Here’s an except of the event on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azusa_Street_Revival On the night of April 9, 1906, Seymour and seven men were waiting on God on Bonnie Brae Street, "when suddenly, as though hit by a bolt of lightning, they were knocked from their chairs to the floor," and the other seven men began to speak in tongues and shout out loud praising God. The news quickly spread; the city was stirred; crowds gathered; and a few days later Seymour himself received the Holy Spirit; services were moved outside to accommodate the crowds who came from all around; people fell down under the power of God as they approached; people were baptized in the Holy Spirit and the sick were healed and sinners received salvation.[2] This is the same thing that happened when the 120 individuals were in the upper room waiting after Jesus ascended into heaven in Acts chapter 2. The anointing has physical attributes. It’s a mighty rushing wind that comes. It feels like being hit by a bolt of lightening. It physically feels like you’re knocked down and folks start speaking in tongues that people will recognize as their own language. Acts even describes those tongues as fire on top of each of those persons. You may want to take a moment to read Acts chapter 2. It also draws a lot of attention. In both Acts and Azusa street revivals, people were drawn, saved, healed, and delivered. Is this anointing dead? I ask this question because I don’t see this happening today, June 13, 2021. Why don’t we see it anymore? If it happened in Acts and on Azusa street, it can happen today and we know it will happen just before the return of the Lord on that great and dreadful day of the Lord: Acts 2:17-20 NKJV 17 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. 18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy. 19 I will show wonders in heaven above And signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. So, if this should happen in the end times, we need to take a closer look at this and be ready for it because we’re already seeing people have dreams and visions. We saw Israel became a name in 1947. We saw Jerusalem become the capital in 1967. We saw the pestilence of covid, we’re seeing large earthquakes, we’re seeing wars and rumor of wars – Matthew 24, Luke 21, Jeremiah 30:3, etc. One very important factor to notice about Acts and the Azusa street revival is at the beginning of both events. People were waiting in a dwelling place. Let’s read 1 John 2:27 again… 1 John 2:27 NKJV 27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you [a]will abide in Him. Notice the last statement: ‘will abide in Him’. What does it mean to ‘abide in Him’ and why is that important? Jeremiah 30:18a NKJV “Thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, I will bring back the captivity of Jacob’s tents, And have mercy on his dwelling places; Jeremiah 30:21b-22 NKJV Then I will cause him to draw near, And he shall approach Me; For who is this who pledged his heart to approach Me?’ says the Lord. 22 ‘You shall be My people, And I will be your God.’ ” First, Jeremiah tells us that the Lord will bring back the captivity of Jacob’s tents – dwelling place. Where you are, is your dwelling place. Jeremiah tells us that God will have mercy on that dwelling place. Mercy means forgiveness. Where you are, ask God to forgive you. As Job did it all the time for himself, and his family, we should do so always also. I suggest reading the book of Job at your earliest convenience. Second, once you have that mercy, how should you respond? How do you show your thankfulness. Read Jeremiah 30:22 again. 22 ‘You shall be My people, And I will be your God.’ ” In your dwelling place, say this: “God, I belong to You and You belong to me”. That’s one way to say thank you. Or another words, praise and worship Him. Say things that acknowledges God is great. Here are a couple of scriptures that praises God: Matthew 21:42 NKJV 42 Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: ‘The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone. This was the Lord’s doing, And it is marvelous in our eyes’? You can call Him the chief cornerstone knowing that He is marvelous. Psalm 8:1 NKJV 8 O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens! You can tell Him how great is His name and how His glory is above the heavens. Now that you’re in the dwelling place, declaring that God belongs to you and you belong to God, now you wait. The 120 waited – Acts 2…William Seymour and those seven men waited. You wait knowing that: Joel 2:28-32 NKJV (This is what Peter quoted in Acts 2 beginning in verse 17 (read earlier) 28 “And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. 29 And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. 30 “And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. 31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. 32 And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be [a]saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be [b]deliverance, As the Lord has said, Among the remnant whom the Lord calls. It’s time to be in that waiting place, dwelling in the secret place with God, being a part of that remnant the Lord calls, because His end is coming and we need to be ready to CATCH THE ANOINTING!
