< Back WHY DOES SATAN WANT YOU SO MUCH? Minister Lisa Kane 1900-01-01 Objective: The objective of this teaching is to help believers understand the true reason why Satan desires to attack and deceive humanity. By examining the creation story, the fall of man, and God’s redemptive plan through Christ, the lesson reveals that Satan’s hatred is not directed at us personally, but rather at God’s love for us. It encourages believers to stay rooted in relationship with God, knowing that through Jesus Christ they have victory over sin, death, and the enemy’s schemes. Synopsis: Why Does Satan Want You So Much? explores the deep spiritual battle that began in the Garden of Eden. Adam, created in God’s image, enjoyed intimate fellowship with his Creator—a relationship Satan envied. As Ezekiel 28 reveals, Satan was present in Eden, watching with jealousy as God spent time with man instead of with him, a being clothed in beauty and splendor. Out of hatred for God and envy of His love toward mankind, Satan set out to prove humanity unworthy, deceiving Eve and drawing Adam into sin. Yet, the message shows that Satan’s true motive is not love or concern for us, but hatred for God. Every time he succeeds in hurting people, he believes he is wounding God’s heart. Still, God’s plan of salvation through Jesus Christ triumphs over Satan’s schemes. By sending His Son to die and rise again, God provided eternal life for all who believe (John 3:16, Romans 10:9–10). The teaching closes with a call to relationship: just as God walked with Adam, He desires to walk with us today. By confessing Jesus as Lord, studying His Word, and remaining in fellowship with Him, believers can stand strong against the enemy, assured that where God’s presence dwells, Satan has no place. Written teaching: Have you ever asked yourself why does Satan want me? It’s an interesting question and opens up the Bible by bringing a more complete understanding of the entire picture, and it goes back to the very beginning in the Garden of Eden. Genesis 2:8 New King James Version (NJKV) 8 The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. Genesis 2:15-20 (NJVK) 15 Then the Lord God took [d]the man and put him in the garden of Eden to [e]tend and keep it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you[f] shall surely die.” 18 And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” 19 Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to [g]Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. The above scriptures show us that Adam was in the Garden of Eden without Eve for some amount of time. We don’t know how much time because the Bible doesn't tell us, but we can guess that at least several months to maybe a handful of years went by where there was no Eve. How do I know this? How many animals, beasts, and birds did God create that Adam named and how long do you think it took Adam to name them all? Imagine this, let’s say God brought in a male and female animal that were gray, big, and heavy with trunks on them and Adam says I will call these elephants. What-if God asked Adam why? And what-if Adam asked God why a skinny tail versus a bigger tail to match its girth? You see God and Adam were talking or having a relationship. They were spending time with one another. God interacted with the image He made of Himself. Genesis 1:26a (NKJV) 26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; We were made extremely different then any other creature God had already made. We don’t look like the angels and to top it all off, God was spending time with Adam, not the other angels. Which begs the question, who was in the Garden of Eden watching? Ezekiel 28:13 (NKJV) 13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes Was prepared for you on the day you were created. Satan was in the garden of Eden and he was watching everything going on. He was perplexed and confused to say the least. He couldn’t figure out how could God spend so much time with such an inferior creature? When comparing man against his beauty, there was no comparison. He was made with every precious stone and was so beautiful, yet God wasn’t spending time with him…no he was spending time with Adam. When Satan saw that God placed a female in the Garden and left to give Adam and Eve a ‘honeymoon’, Satan wanted to show God how inferior this creature was. In fact, he wanted to make it such a point to rub it in His face…and was probably thinking that he could do a better job in creating creatures. And that is why Satan wanted us. And he continues to want us to this day because every time he wins, he's hurting God. Satan doesn't care about who you are or what you do but he does care that God loves you so much that he'll do everything in his power to hurt you because he knows it will hurt God. To put it simply, Satan hates God and everything God loves, Satan hates. God showed His love by spending time with Adam. Love is action and God is action. I bet Satan thought he was right when he deceived Eve and Adam. Genesis 3:1-6 (NKJV) 3 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” 2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ” 4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was [a]pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves [b]coverings. But God. He had a bigger plan all along. John 3:16-17 (NKJV) 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. We’re made in His image and He loves us. He paid a large price, the death of His Son on the cross, to get us back from the curse of sin when Adam and Eve disobeyed God because of Satan's hatred toward Him. Romans 6:23 (NKJV) 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the [a]gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. After Adam and Eve sinned, they began aging and eventually died. But Jesus broke death by rising from the dead. Matthew 28:6a (NKJV) 6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Hallelujah! Now you and I can rise from certain death by believing and Satan may want to hurt us to hurt God but he can't hurt us anymore. God made a way for us to be saved! Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV) 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. And all it takes is talking to God. It began as a relationship with God and Adam, and it will end in a relationship with God and me (you). Say this out loud: Dear Jesus, thank You for dying on the cross. Forgive me of my sins and come into my life. Be my Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ Name Amen! Praise the Lord! You are now saved through Jesus Christ and don’t let anyone or anything tell you otherwise. Protect yourself by staying in that relationship with God because where God is, Satan isn’t. How do you stay in a relationship with God? Read His Word! It will be your foundation and get you through life. You can find free access to the Bible at: https://www.biblegateway.com/ Previous Next

  • THE POWER OF THE TONGUE | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)

< Back THE POWER OF THE TONGUE Minister Lisa Kane Objective: The objective of this teaching is to help believers recognize and apply the spiritual authority of their words. By aligning their speech with God’s Word, Christians can overcome negative influences such as depression, sickness, and fear, and instead walk in victory, joy, and confidence as more than conquerors through Christ. Synopsis: The Power of the Tongue by Lisa Kane is a personal testimony and biblical teaching based on Proverbs 18:21: “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Drawing from her own battle with depression, Lisa shares how she overcame through prayer and by boldly speaking against the spirit of depression. She recounts how declaring God’s truth aloud—commanding depression to leave and asking God for strength—brought freedom, joy, and lasting change in her life. The message emphasizes the power of words in shaping one’s reality, urging readers to consider what they are telling themselves daily. Negative confessions such as “I’m sick” or “I’m tired” reinforce defeat, while positive declarations rooted in God’s Word cultivate faith, healing, and strength. Lisa encourages believers to boldly use their tongue as a spiritual weapon, reminding them of Romans 8:37—“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” This teaching calls Christians to rise up in faith, reject destructive self-talk, and speak life-giving words that align with God’s promises, knowing that through Christ they are equipped to overcome every challenge. Written teaching: Proverbs 18:21 New King James Version (NKJV) 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. I used to battle depression many years ago, but I overcame it by using the power of the tongue. This is what I did: First, it took me a few weeks to figure out what was wrong with me because I didn’t know. All I knew is that I was mean to everyone around me and I didn’t want to do anything. It was so out of character for me that I began asking God what was wrong with me. Then it hit me. God showed me that I was dealing with a spirit of depression. Once I knew what was wrong, I told my husband I was going to spend time in prayer and went to my bedroom. And this is what I said out loud, “Depression, you’re not welcomed here. Go away and leave me alone.” And then I asked God to forgive me and to help me overcome this spirit. I kept praying and telling depression to get lost for several hours. I eventually went to bed that way. I kept up the words in my mind, but I laid down and finally fell asleep. The next morning, I woke up extremely achy, but I had a smile on my face. I realized that was the best I had felt in a while. Depression was gone and I began walking in joy from that day on. Every once a while depression would try to sneak up on me but guess what, I would remind it that it wasn’t welcomed as part of my life and it would go away. This tactic wasn’t something I read or heard about. It was just something I did as I was praying to God. However, Proverbs 18:21 is so true. The power of the tongue is mighty, and you need to ask yourself, ‘what am I telling myself daily’? Are you telling yourself you’re sick? Are you telling yourself you're tired? Are you telling yourself you’re poor? Are you telling yourself you’re in pain? If I were you, I suggest telling yourself what a great person you are in the Lord and begin acting on it. The sick, tired, poor, and pain will line up according to your words. And if you’re really dealing with some serious spirits, go spend time in God’s presence in your home and tell them to get lost. You have a mighty tongue and are more than a conqueror. Romans 8:37 New King James Version (NKJV) 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Previous Next

  • SPIRITUAL ENCOUNTERS | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)

< Back SPIRITUAL ENCOUNTERS Pastor Marcos Marrero Objective: The objective of Spiritual Encounters is to help believers understand the two primary ways in which God engages with humanity: first, through His sovereign initiative, when He reveals Himself for purposes such as protection, correction, or calling; and second, through deeply personal encounters that come as a result of an intentional pursuit of His presence. Pastor Marcos teaches that both types of encounters are life-changing, but the latter requires preparation of the heart, spiritual discipline, and genuine longing for intimacy with the Lord. Synopsis: In Spiritual Encounters, Pastor Marcos Marrero explores two distinct ways God reveals Himself to people. The first type occurs when God sovereignly intervenes, often when an individual is not actively seeking Him. This intervention, as illustrated through the biblical account of Saul of Tarsus and Pastor Marcos’ own testimony of being rescued at sea in 1965, demonstrates God’s protective hand in preserving lives for His divine purposes. These encounters are functional in nature, ensuring that God’s plans for a person’s destiny are not thwarted by the schemes of the enemy. The second type of encounter is personal and intimate, where God responds to the heart of a believer who diligently seeks Him. Using the imagery of the Shulamite woman from the Song of Solomon, Pastor Marcos illustrates the posture of longing, perseverance, and devotion necessary for believers to enter into such a relationship. These encounters require spiritual preparation—being born again, covered in fellowship with Christ’s body, and adorned with the fruit of the Spirit. Pastor Marcos emphasizes that true intimacy with the Lord involves crossing into the spiritual realm, widening our understanding, and refusing to be hindered by temporary setbacks. Ultimately, Spiritual Encounters teaches that God’s sovereign interventions preserve our destinies, while our intentional pursuit of Him brings about profound personal transformation. The desired outcome of such encounters is not only deeper intimacy with Christ but also greater fruitfulness in both the spiritual and physical aspects of life. Written teaching: Song of Solomon 3:1-2 “By night on my bed I sought the one I love; I sought him, but I did not find him. I will rise now, I said, and go about the city; in the streets and in the squares I will seek the one I love. I sought him but I did not find him.” There are two kinds of spiritual encounters between man and God, as far as our relationship with God’s plan for our lives is concerned. First is the kind where God reveals Himself to us, by way of an angel, personally, or in some supernatural manner, when we are not actively seeking Him. Such was the case with Saul of Tarsus, an encounter with God was the last thing on his mind as he traveled on the road to Damascus. The second form of an encounter with God is when we are actively seeking Him and some way or another He let’s us find Him. I believe the book of Song of Solomon has a wealth of information into the how to, of seeking a personal encounter with God. Let us look at the two different types of encounters and see if we can learn from this present lesson how to find favor with the Lord, and encounter His presence in a way that brings a life changing experience to us that results in our betterment. In the first type of encounter, God reveals Himself to a person for a specific purpose or reason. In Paul’s case it was for his conversion and called to future ministry, in other cases it could be for the protection of an individual, maybe to keep them from crossing a line from which there is no return. My first encounter with the physical manifestation of the presence of God was to keep me from making such a mistake. I was in a small boat fleeing the communist regime in Cuba in the Florida straights in August 1965, I brought two friends with me who were hiding under the small bow of the boat. We were hit by a strong tempest (chuvasco) and swamped by towering waves to the point that I thought the end of my life was at hand, as we were verily making it through that frontal line of menacing clouds in the middle of the night, we were almost struck by a cargo ship that was sailing in the middle of the storm. After seeing our SOS the cargo ship stopped to recue us, thinking they had hit us, we’ve maneuvered to the side of the cargo ship, by the hanged net they laid on the side of the ship in order for us to climb aboard the ship and out of the tempestuous sea. As my hand took hold of the net, an invisible man that was standing next to me told me to ask where they were going, I looked up to those who were waiting for us at the top of the net and asked them where were they going, something that you normally would not do when being rescued, it was a natural reaction to a supernatural prompting, the immediate answer came with an oriental accent; we are going to Havana! As if the net was charged with thousands of volts of electricity, my hand let go of it, and we sailed away as fast and as far as we could from that Chinese cargo ship that was headed to Havana, where we would have certainly been delivered into one of Castro’s many prisons. By next afternoon we encountered an island named Cay Sal and were spotted by a US navy plane that pointed us to that island, as soon as we knew that we were going to make it, the invisible man, an angel from the Lord, left, and in that instance all three of us looked at each other and wondered out loud, how is it that we were behaving as if there were four of us, when there is only three? All three of us knew he was there, we all felt his presence, I heard his voice, and we knew immediately when he left, yet we never saw him, neither did we comprehend his presence until after he departed. That evening a British warship picked us up from the island and took us to Port Everglades Florida, where we were welcome as refugees. I often pondered why did God do that miracle when none of us were even saved, and the only conclusion that I can come up with is that, had it not been for His sovereign intervention that night we would not have been able to fulfill God’s plan and destiny for our lives. I am sure that all of us will one day find out the countless times when the Lord intervened on our behalf, for the battles that God’s angels fight for us is a constant one. In the first type of encounter God is making sure that His plans for the individual’s life is not altered, so that the nature of the encounter is more functional in nature than personal, not so in the second type of encounter, for this encounter is very personal in nature, where God responds to those who seek to have a deeper, more personal relationship with Him. By night on my bed, I sought the one I love. It is not easy to position ourselves properly in order to have the opportunity of having the experience of a personal encounter with the Lord, such experiences are just as precious as they are rare, but our desire of them speaks volumes of how real and deep our love for Him is. What is it that is on our minds when we suddenly awake in the middle of the night, before the cares of this life come rushing in? The Shulamite, a type for the church in this story, wakes up longing for a personal encounter with the love of her life and then she decides to do something about it; she says, I will rise now and go about the city, obviously she is looking for Him. This is a sign for those of us who personally desire to have a life changing encounter with the Lord deep within our hearts, if suddenly we wake up in the middle of the night longing for Him, in response to that longing, we should get up and seek Him fervently in prayer. In the streets and in the squares, I will seek the one I love. The word for streets in the Hebrew has the idea of as run over something, almost like a bridge, from its root word that means to run after or over to something. The idea behind the word for streets is that of, we have to cross over, in our case it would imply that we have to cross over into the spiritual realm as we seek an encounter with our Lord, by putting all our physical limitations and suppositions behind us. The word translated squares literally means broad way or broad place, from its root word that means to broaden or to make wide. To seek the encounter with the One we love we must be willing to cross over into the spiritual realm, and in order to do this we have to widen or broaden our perspective of how the spiritual realm operates. We have to be willing to negate the perceived limitations that hinder us from entering into His presence and not be dissuaded from apparent failures. As the Shulamite says twice in our opening verses, I sought him, but I did not find him. Song of Solomon 3:3 “The watchman who go about the city found me; I said, ‘Have you seen the one I love?’” If the city is symbolic of the spiritual realm where she went searching for the one she loves, then the watchman is symbolic of the angels that police the spiritual realm, notice how she handled her encounter with them: Have you seen the one I love? She was not hesitant at all, she was determined in her commitment to find the one she loved. Song of Solomon 3:4 “Scarcely had I passed by them, when I found the one I love. I held him and would not let him go, until I had brought him to the house of my mother, and into the chamber (room) of her who conceived me.” This is an interesting insight into what drove her desire for an encounter with the one she loved. In the natural she was saying I want you to meet my mother, if you are in the dating stage of your life I do not have to tell you what that means, for you know that she means business once she asks you to meet her mother, what that means is that she is definitely serious about your relationship with her. But from the spiritual aspect, I looked at the words here that state, the chamber of her who conceived me. I think that this is a reference to the inner rooms of the heart, meaning that her goal all along was for this spiritual encounter to bring her Savior into the inner chambers of her heart, where spiritual conception takes place, she wanted to experience her loved one in a way that she had never experienced him before. Proverbs 20:27 “The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord, searching all the inner depths (literally: inner rooms of the belly) of his heart.” The difference then, between our first and second types of spiritual encounter is, that in the first type angels or watchers intervene on behalf of those whose destiny is threaten by the mischievousness of the devil against them. In the second type of encounter there is nothing that the angels can do, for in this type of encounter the human heart is the issue, and only God is qualified to deal with the issues of the heart, and He will never intrude into the human heart unless He is first, personally invited, and second, we make special preparations within us that will make Him feel welcome. Step number one: Song of Solomon 4:1 “Behold, you are fair, my love! Behold you are fair! You have dove’s eyes behind your veil (the curtain that covers the door that leads into our hearts). Your hair (covering) is like a flock of goats, going down from Mount Gilead.” The dove is the symbol for the Holy Spirit, and the veil represents the door to the inner rooms of our hearts, typified by the curtain that covers the entrance to the Holy of Holies in God’s Tabernacle. That means that we have to be born again, born of the Spirit of God if we want to experience this type of encounter with Jesus deep within our hearts, because that is where the Holy Spirit resides after we are born again, deep within our hearts. Step number two: Our covering, symbolized by the hair, has to be in place by being a part of the flock, the church, which is the body of Christ. Some believers are not properly covered because their pastors are in direct disobedience to the Word of God, hence they are not properly covered by their fellowship, which makes it a lot more difficult for them to have an experience of true intimacy with the Lord, especially when their leaders are proclaiming a different gospel that portrays another Jesus and a different spirit which they have not received. 2 Corinthians 11:4 “For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted—you may well put up with it (but the Lord will not).” In these matters we have to be very careful, for no church is perfect, but if you cannot tell the difference between your church and the world, then all your striving for a spiritual encounter with the real Jesus may be for naught. But remember this, never leave a fellowship to which you were called unless the Lord Himself calls you out of it first, and make sure that He confirms it before you act, that way you will not lose your true covering no matter where He leads you, for He will be your covering and your protection wherever you go. Step number three: Song of Solomon 4:2 “Your teeth are like a flock of shorn sheep which have come up from the washing, every one of which bears twins, and none is barren (bereaved) among them.” Our teeth represent the condition of the human soul, which is designed to reflect the Fruit of the Spirit of love who lives within us, which are: Love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, kindness, faithfulness, meekness, and self-control, for against these there is no law. We need to make sure that none of these qualities are lacking within us, for they adorn our inner man and make us to be more attractive to the Lord. Since we love and desire intimacy with Him we should desire to be more presentable: Which have come up from the washing. After all no body likes bad breath. 1 Peter 1:9 “Receiving the end (goal) of your faith—the salvation of your souls.” We can find many allegories in the book of Song of Solomon to help prepare us for a life changing experience with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. But let us make sure that our desire for intimacy always flows out of a grateful heart that knows the hell from which He has delivered us, having a sincere desire for true intimacy with Him should trump everything else. The results of such a spiritual encounter should be that of us becoming more fruitful in every aspect of both our spiritual and physical walk with Him. Amen! Previous Next

  • THE FOUR WAVES | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)

< Back THE FOUR WAVES Pastor Marcos Marrero Objective: The objective of The Four Waves is to unveil the prophetic significance of the spiritual “waves” described in Scripture and confirmed through visions, dreams, and prophetic words. Pastor Marcos seeks to equip believers with discernment regarding the shaking of both heaven and earth, and to encourage the church to remain steadfast in expectation of God’s final outpouring, even amid fear, deception, and world turmoil. Synopsis: In The Four Waves, Pastor Marcos Marrero draws from Luke 21:25–26, Hebrews 12:26, and other prophetic scriptures to explain the spiritual “waves” that will shake creation in the last days. He emphasizes that these waves represent both physical and spiritual forces moving across the earth, bringing about conditions that align with God’s purposes. The number four is significant, as it symbolizes completeness—affecting the sun, moon, stars, and earth, as well as humanity at every level. Pastor Marcos shares his own series of vivid dreams spanning years, in which massive waves rose from all four cardinal directions. Each dream carried both a personal and corporate message: polluted waters symbolizing corrupted doctrine, fearful waves of judgment, and finally, a pure, crystal-clear wave of living water signifying revival and renewal. These experiences were later confirmed by a message he heard during the Brownsville Revival, where a preacher spoke of four waves of revival emerging from the north, east, south, and west. He also connects these revelations with the striking 1968 prophecy of a Norwegian woman who foresaw four global waves before Christ’s return: a false peace, lukewarm Christianity, moral decay, and finally, the outbreak of world war alongside Christ’s appearing. Pastor Marcos compares her visions with his own dreams and biblical prophecies, showing the harmony between them and their ultimate fulfillment in God’s plan. The lesson underscores that while the fourth wave will bring a shaking like never before, for believers it represents an outpouring of God’s Spirit and an opportunity for salvation. As Revelation and Joel affirm, those who call upon the Lord during that time will be saved. Pastor Marcos concludes that the faithful need not fear these waves, for they are both signs of judgment and channels of God’s life-giving power. Written teaching: Luke 21:25 “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring.” If we look at the above verse from an entirely spiritual perspective, we see four places that are mentioned, the sun, the moon, the stars, and the earth, that will be hit by a great shaking, and this shaking will come in the form of waves. We obviously live here on the earth, but during those days there will be things that are happening in the entire cosmos that will clearly have an effect upon us here on the earth. Luke 21:26 “Men’s hearts failing them from the fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.” When our text declares that the powers of the heavens will be shaken, it is clearly referring to both, a physical and a spiritual shaking that will be taking place during those days. Hebrews 12:26 “Whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, ‘Yet once more I shake not only earth, but also heaven.’” The number four is significant here because it includes the entire creation, both physical and spiritual. The spiritual emphasis that I want to deal with in this lesson is revealed to us in the form of waves, like in the waves roaring, that is waves making loud sounds that are audible. If you read some of my works, you know that I believe that there are always four spiritual forces that work together in tandem to bring about the conditions that God requires in order to bring about His desire results in any given physical situation. Like the four horseman of the apocalypse, the four trumpets, the four seals, the four winds and so on. These waves are sometimes revealed to the saints in visions or dreams; now there are common threads that link the different revelations to one another, and there are some very unique and individual aspects of the revelation that apply only to the individuals receiving them. Amos 3:7 “Surely the Lord God does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.” In the Old Testament, only certain people were filled with the Holy Spirit. All of the prophets of old were filled with God’s Holy Spirit, since God is Spirit and all His works always begin in the spiritual realm. Those who are filled with His Spirit are in a position to receive the revelation of what God is doing in the spiritual realm that affects us here on the earth. In the New Testament, all the believers are filled with His Holy Spirit, for no one can be born again without being born of the Spirit of God. 1 Corinthians 12:13 “For by one Spirit we were all baptized (plunged) into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.” So that to His church, the body of Christ, revelation is continually flowing corporally from His Spirit that bears witness of what God is presently doing in the spiritual realm. That is why when the Holy Spirit is doing a personal work in us, it seems almost like there is a conspiracy of some sort, for we see the Spirit moving through many different venues to assure us that it is He, and Him alone, not man, who is dealing with us. And when He is revealing things to His church as a whole, many different individuals, oceans apart, will have the basics of the same revelation of what God is doing or is about to do. For that is what Amos says, God will reveal His secrets to His servants, for a testimony to the whole body of believers. My personal experience with dreams of big waves started early in the decade that started in 1990. Previously to my first dream, I do not recall ever hearing about dreams of big waves from anybody. In all four of my dreams that covered a span of several years, there were always two things common on every dream, I knew what cardinal direction I was facing, and I was completely overwhelmed by the size of the waves that were always coming my way. In my first dream, I was facing north while standing on a sidewalk in front of a small country church. I was watching as people were coming out of the church when suddenly a huge massive wave arose from behind the little church. The wave was comprised of water and mud and was coming towards the church from behind. It was moving so fast that I did not even have time to tell the people to turn around and look, I just instinctively crouched behind a small retaining wall in the perimeter of the front lawn. I was so scared that my heart almost stopped, and I remember thinking that I was going to die by breathing in muddy water. I awoke right before the wave hit me and realized that my body was shaking and I was breathing extremely heavy. In the next two or three years I had two more dreams that were just a different version of that first one. On the second dream I was facing east, there was a chain link fence in front of me, when a huge wave rose up, not as muddy as in my first dream, as I crouched down and grabbed the chain link fence, I remember thinking that the impact would probably rip my fingers off, thankfully I awoke again right before it hit me. In the third dream I was facing south when a huge wave rose again as before. The dream of the fourth wave came a couple of years later, I was facing west in the South Bay area of Los Angeles CA, looking at the San Pedro/Palos Verdes hill, when out of the Pacific ocean a huge, more massive wave than any of the others that I had dreamed before rose up. It was made of pure crystal-clear water, and just as beautiful as it was awesome. In this dream I did not fear, I did not crouch, and I didn’t wake up before the wave hit me, for even though I was very scared, I welcome that which was coming my way. The wave went over me and through me with great energy, but I was still standing, and as I looked around, all the houses and buildings were gone, and in their place, pools of living waters were drawing in the weak and the feeble to drink freely of it. In March of 1997, I had the privilege to travel to the Brownsville revival that was taking place in Pensacola Florida. For three marvelous days I witness the power of God moving upon thousands of people that were gathered there for that wonderful experience. We attended the Sunday morning service before we left that day and there was a guess speaker teaching that morning. He spoke about four spiritual waves that would hit from four different directions before the Lord returns for us. Can you just picture my jaw dropping as he started his message? He spoke about a revival that was taking place in Toronto, Canada, as the wave from the north, the revival in Pensacola as being the wave from the east, the revivals that were going on in South America, as the wave from the south, and get this, he spoke about a final outpouring of the Holy Spirit that was yet to come from the west. That was over sixteen years ago, and I knew that it was from the Lord, but as you know, we walk by faith and not by sight. The spiritual decline of the last few years, not only in the churches but in the nations as well, makes it hard for me to see how and where from that final revival that I am so certain, even today, that is going to come. But you know how the Lord works, just when we seem to have forgotten something that at one time seemed very important, the Lord is always there to remind us that His timing is not our timing, and that just because it has not happened yet, that it should be no reason for us to not keep looking up in excitement for what He has promised. A couple of days ago I read a prophecy that was given by a 90 year old woman in Norway, back in 1968, to an evangelist named Emanuel Minos when he came to her town to preach. The evangelist wrote down the prophecy as she told it to him, but he thought that it was so extreme that he kept it in a drawer and forgot about it. This is how her prophecy started: I saw the time just before the coming of Jesus and the outbreak of the Third World War. Then, she mentioned four waves: This is part of what she saw in the first wave: There will be peace between the superpowers in the east and the west, and there will be a long peace. Remember that she spoke this in 1968 while the cold war was raging, and it raged on until 1989. There have been 24 years of peace between the superpowers of the east and west. This is part of what she saw in the second wave: A lukewarmness without parallel will take hold of the Christians, a falling away from true, living Christianity. Christians will not be open for penetrating preaching. They will not, like in earlier times, want to hear of sin and grace, law and gospel, repentance and restoration. There will come a substitute instead: prosperity (happiness) Christianity. Here is part of what she saw in the third wave: People will live together like married without being married...TV will be filled with such horrible violence that it teaches people to murder and destroy each other, and it will be unsafe in our streets. People will copy what they see. This is some of what she saw for the fourth wave: I will not see it, but you will. Then suddenly, Jesus will come and the Third World War breaks out. It will be a short war... All that I have seen of war before is only child’s play compared to this one. I wrote some of what she saw in her vision and some of what I saw in my dreams, to show those of you that might have experienced something like what she or I’ve experienced, that even though our perspectives differ greatly, there is a common thread that unites the flow of the revelations. In her case she saw peace in the first wave, when the first seal was opened after Jesus rose from the dead, the spirit of antichrist was released which is still very much at work today to bring forth a false peace. In my first wave I saw extremely polluted waters/doctrine sneaking behind the church. That explains why in her second wave she saw unparallel lukewarmness and a falling away from true living Christianity, for they are the results of demonic doctrines introduced to the church. But the key point that I want to emphasize is in the fourth wave, for that is when the powers of the heavens are shaken, and the Lord is revealed, and from her perspective she saw the start of World War Three. Now let me show you two different perspectives from Scripture about that same event. Revelation 6:12-17 “I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake (in the earth); and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon (remember our opening text) became like blood. And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free men, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, ‘Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?’” From this perspective we see that the land of Israel has been invaded by an army of a confederacy that's lead by Gog, of the land of Magog, from the uttermost north, according to Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39. Most of the people that you see running for the bomb shelters in Revelation chapter six are about to be wiped out by the wrath of the Lamb as He returns to show Himself holy before the nations of the world, and to save the people and the nation of Israel from sure destruction. Acts 2:19-21 “I will show wonders in heaven above and signs in the earth beneath: blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turn into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” From Joel’s perspective, whom Peter quotes in Acts, we see that those who witness the supernatural destruction of this mighty army that has invaded Israel, will realize that the Lamb is real and that His judgments are true, and they will have an opportunity to repent before the great day of His wrath begins. One way to see the fourth wave is as that of the beginning of a war that will end the world as we know it. Another way is to see it as an opportunity for as many people as possible to call upon the name of the Lord and be delivered out of this world before the wrath of God is unleashed upon it, and its destruction made certain. I know that in my dream I did not fear the immensity of the fourth wave, for it brought with it a crystal-clear living waters for the purification of the soul, and it was made available to all those who were feeble and weak in body. Those who fear and partake of the Word of the Lord now, will not be afraid in the day when His fullness is revealed to them. If only the scoffers would repent before that day catches up to them. Revelation 22:1 “And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.” Previous Next

  • SOUL IDENTITY: THE REAL YOU | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)

< Back SOUL IDENTITY: THE REAL YOU Pastor Marcos Marrero Objective: The objective of Soul Identity: The Real You is to reveal the divine design and true identity of the human soul as created by God, to expose the lies of Satan that distort and fragment that identity, and to demonstrate how God’s Word restores and redeems the soul to its original purpose and beauty. This teaching calls believers to recognize their worth in Christ, renounce the lies of the enemy, and walk in the truth that they are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God. Synopsis: In Soul Identity: The Real You, Pastor Marcos Marrero explores Psalm 139 as a profound revelation of God’s intricate workmanship in creating the human soul. He explains how each soul is uniquely woven together by God with strands of personality, will, and emotion—forming a divine identity that reflects God’s glory. Yet, just as a knitted garment can unravel when snagged, so too can the soul become fragmented by the lies of Satan, which tear at its integrity and distort its original design. Pastor Marcos highlights the contrast between lies that break and bruise the soul and the Truth of God’s Word that heals and restores. Drawing from David’s psalms, Job’s struggles, and the New Testament teachings of Jesus, he shows how words—whether truthful or deceitful—carry the power to shape or shatter a soul’s reality. He reminds us that our real identity is not what the world says we are, but who God says we are. The lesson emphasizes that the enemy’s earliest and most destructive lie is that life has no value or purpose. But God, as the Everlasting Father, affirms every believer’s worth and destiny. Pastor Marcos explains that through Christ’s sacrifice—His stripes for our outward sins and His bruises for our inward wounds—our fragmented souls can be made whole again. Finally, the message calls believers to renounce every lie they have believed, replace it with the liberating truth of God’s Word, and embrace their eternal identity as God’s children. To know the “real you” is to know that your soul originated from God, is sustained by His Spirit, and is destined for everlasting life in Him. Written teaching: Psalm 139:14 “I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.” Psalm 139 gives us a great deal of details into the creation of the human soul and its complexities, it also speaks volumes of how God is able to bring forth a brand new soul out of nothing into existence. Psalm 139:13 “For You formed my inward (invisible soul) parts; You covered (wove me, like knitting a garment) me in my mother’s womb.” Our souls, like our physical bodies, are made of many individual parts that are designed to work together in unity to form the whole person. Unlike the physical body which is comprised of diverse organs within a skeletal frame that’s held together with muscles and sinews, our souls are knitted together out of a consortium of different strands of personality traits, wills, and emotions, that come together to form the person that we become with its unique identity and temperament. And just like a knitted garment that snags on a sharp object and ends up pulling on one or more of the strands, which ends up in distorting the complexity and beauty of the original piece, so it is with the human soul. Psalm 139:19-20 “Oh, that You would slay the wicked, O God! Depart from me, therefore, you bloodthirsty men (men of bloodshed who tear at the soul with lies). For they speak against You wickedly; Your enemies take Your name in vain.” Suddenly the beauty of Psalm 139 is abruptly interrupted by what it seems like an out of place rant by David, but if we understand that what tears apart the human soul is the lies that the enemy continuously utters against it, then we can appreciate the importance of David’s words in regards to what causes the human soul to become fragmented, and in turn, we can learn what it takes to put it back together again. Job 19:2 “How long will you torment my soul, and break me (my soul) in pieces with words?” Words of Truth are not only the governor of the soul, but its liberator as well. It cannot get any simpler than that, the lying words of Satan are designed to fragment the human soul to such an extent that it causes such a soul to lose its original design and it makes it out to become a fraudulent entity, a distorted copy of what once was an original and exquisite design created in the image and to the glory of God. David was an expert when it came to understanding his soul, and why he behaved at times in a manner inconsistent with the anointing that he had upon his life, listen to what he says in Psalm fifty-one. Psalm 51:5 “Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me.” David understood that from his mother’s womb Satan had been at work to pervert the original personality that God intended for David to be, that is why within the beauty of Psalm 139 he abruptly inserts his call of condemnation against the wicked ones and their lying distortions and calls on God to slay them for profaning the beauty of the Lord’s name. Since we were all created, within our souls, in the image of the invisible God, every time that there is a tampering against our soul’s original make up, it is done as a disrepute against the Maker, who stamps His brand name on each and every one of us, that is why David states the following: Psalm 51:4 “Against You, You only, have I sinned, and done this evil in Your sight—that You may be found just when You speak, and blameless when You judge.” David knew that his sin with Bathsheba had caused harm against many innocent others, but what he means when he says to God that, against You, and You only have I sinned, David is recognizing that the only brand name that He impugned by his actions was God’s name, and by David making a public acknowledgment of Satan’s tampering with what God had originally made good, David in a sense sets out to clear God’s name, that is why he adds: that You may be found just when You speak, and blameless when You judge. So that the burden is on us, when we do not live up to God’s original design, to recognize that it is the lies of the devil that we believed that caused us to cast ill repute upon the veracity of God’s Word. Psalm 89:32 “Then I will punish their transgression with the rod, and their iniquities with stripes.” Jesus suffered both, stripes and bruises, at the hands of His executioners on our behalf, the stripes symbolized that which was visible, in our case, our sinful actions that are there in the open for everyone to see. The bruises symbolized the hidden areas within our souls that caused us to sin in the first place. The blunt trauma that a person suffers when struck by a rod is not immediately seen until much later when a bruise appears. Job said that his tormentors were breaking his soul to pieces with their words of accusation. Lies break, bruise, and deform the human soul, but on the other hand, Truth heals the soul the same way that the medicated ointment heals the visible stripes, but Truth has to be applied to the deep inward parts that comprise our human souls. Psalm 51:6 “Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part (the real you, not who or what you have become) You will make me to know wisdom (liberating Truth).” Can you imagine that, the real us has been hidden from us all these years by the lies that the devil has perpetrated against us, and we like fools just followed along with those lies, believing something about us that was never true. Psalm 51:14 “Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness.” Remember what David says in Psalm 139:19-20, he tells those bloodthirsty men to depart from him, for they are profaning the Lord’s name with their wicked lies. After David renounces them, then he asks the Lord to deliver his soul from the blood shedding guilt of believing and following along with their wicked lies. How do I know what wicked lies the devil has perpetrated against me? Boy, where do we start? Let us start at the beginning, within the womb. Job 3:3, 11 “May the day perish on which I was born, and the night in which it was said, ‘a male child is conceived’...Why did I not die at birth? Why did I not perish (expire, had the spirit of life leave me) when I came from the womb?” I found out from an early age that the devil’s problem with me had more to do with where I was than with who I was. You see, I was not born out there in outer space or in another planet, no, I was born here on the earth. I’m an earthling, my soul was placed within a physical body and told to occupy time and space while here on this earth, the place from where the physical body that I indwell was made out of, the dust of the earth. Had my body been void of a soul when it was born, the devil wouldn't have a problem with it, it would be no more than an unreasoning animal occupying space. For you see my soul, what makes me who I really am is foreign in nature, it originated with God, and it is a product of His Spirit. As long as I am here on this earth I have authority over the piece of the earth that I live in, because I live in a body that was taken from this earth, the devil is here illegally on this earth, and I have authority, as a human, to expel him from the territory that I occupy. So that the first lie that the devil tries to instill in every human is that we should had never been born, that is what was at the root of his attacks against Job’s reasoning soul. By destroying everything that Job possessed and then blaming God for it. The devil’s aim was for Job to commit suicide, in other words, exit the territory over which Job had dominion. Job 2:9 “Then his (Job’s) wife said to him, ‘Do you still hold fast to your integrity? (our soul’s foundation) Curse God and die (kill yourself)!’” The devil even got Job’s wife to doubt her own husband’s integrity, imagine how much those words of her cut deep into Job’s heart, is no wonder in the next chapter he curses the very day that he was born. Our carnal human nature always wants to quit, run away or give up, and if it cannot escape the trials, then it seeks solace in the belief that it should have never been born, but the soul within its original make up is not a quitter, it does not think in terms of beginning and ending, for it has an eternal nature and it cannot be killed, since it originated from God. Since our souls instinct is to resist quitting or giving up, the only option that the devil has left against our souls is to fragment it. That is to divide it with a lie that diminishes our soul’s great potential to exert God’s dominion over all of the devil’s usurped authority that he stole from the first man, Adam. Our present world system has been built on a lie, the reality that we perceived as we were growing up was a distortion of the original reality that God intended for us humans to grow up with in a place called Paradise. Our parents were part of that design in God’s original plan for man, the father was to be a representation of God here on the earth, while our mothers were a type for the church, the body of Christ. Since none of us had a perfect mother or father, our perception of God and His church was never fully demonstrated to us as we were growing up. When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray effectively, this was the very first thing that Jesus addressed: Our Father who are in heaven. Many of us have had good fathers, Joseph, Jesus stepfather, was a good man, but while Joseph was still alive, here is what Jesus said: Luke 2:48-49 “So when they saw Him (Jesus at the age of twelve sitting amongst the elders), they were amazed; and His mother said to Him, ‘Son, why have You done this to us? Look, Your father and I have sought You anxiously.’ And He said to them, ‘Why did you seek me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?’” Joseph’s business was carpentry, they found the boy Jesus sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions in the temple of God His real father. When Jesus reached the age of accountability, He had to identify Himself with who He really was, and in which reality He really lived. John 7:28-29 “Then Jesus cried out, as He taught in the temple, saying, ‘You both know Me, and you know where I am from; and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true (the real reality), whom you do not know. But I know Him, for I am from Him, and He sent Me.’” Years later, when Jesus is in full ministry, He makes the statement to those who were hearing Him teach that they both know who He really is and where He came from. Jesus refused to see Himself or to portray Himself the way and within the context that the world saw Him. That is exactly what He was trying to teach His disciples, and that is what He is trying to teach us in our present day. John 7:7 “The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil.” What an amazing statement, Jesus tells His disciples that the world cannot hate them, for they have not yet learned how to testify against the world, now later towards the end of His ministry, He tells His disciples that they would be hated by the world; what is this all about? I believe that it has to do with soul identification, and the concept of who our real Father is, and from where do our souls originate from. John 8:44 “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.” Here is how I see it, Jesus knows that He is not of this world and that He is here on earth on a mission from God to save sinners from their sins and to destroy the works of the devil. The Jews that He is contending with claim to be children of Abraham, but Jesus tells them that if they were real children of Abraham they would do the works of Abraham, vs. 39 and believe in Him, since Abraham was a man of faith. Meanwhile in the middle are the disciples and those who believed what Jesus was teaching them, but who had not yet entered into the revelation of what they were taught. How do we enter into this revelation? Adam was the first sinner, I am a descendant of Adam, so I too I am a sinner. Jesus is a descendant of Adam as well, on His mother’s side, but yet He never sinned, for His Father is God who is righteous. Jesus offered His sinless soul as a sacrifice on behalf of all Adam’s descendants, to save them from their sins, and to destroy all the damaging work that the devil instigated against their human souls. God accepted the sinless blood of Jesus as the perfect sacrifice, and in place of the old testament that declared that the soul that sinned would surely die, a new testament was declared, that if we confess our sins, Jesus is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us, body, soul, and spirit from all unrighteousness. 1 Corinthians 15:47-49 “The first man (Adam) was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven. As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust; and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly (born again). And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man.” Our physical bodies will finally bear the image of the heavenly Man on resurrection day, but if we are born again, our souls already bear the image of the heavenly Man, for our souls are spirit. So that it comes down to this, what are we feeding our souls? Remember that it is words that either feed nourishment to the soul or cut it to pieces, truthful words deliver the soul from the enslavement of fear, however, the lie keeps the soul in bondage. 1 Peter 1:9 “Receiving the end (or goal) of your faith—the salvation of your souls.” John 6:63 “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life (nourishment for our souls).” For me it starts with this: Who is my real father? God is my One and only Father! This is what Jesus meant when He taught in Luke 14:26 that if anyone came to Him and did not hate his father or mother and even his/her own life, that they could not be His disciples. This is how our soul acknowledges that it originated from God, like when the boy Jesus, testified in the temple about His heavenly Father, the issue was not disrespect towards His parents, it all had to do with His soul’s identifying itself with God, who is not of this world. For He alone created us and He alone sustains our life with His breath, for man does not live on bread alone, but by every Word of God. If we are His children, and we are if we are born again, then we belong to Him, we are His property, our lives have meaning and purpose. The world tells us that we are insignificant, one of seven or eight billion people on this earth right now, the world wants us to believe that nobody cares for us, that we are worthless, for that is what fragments the human soul, the lies that divide us from within. The world will say that we are a chip from the old block, that because of our race, or gender, or geographical location, or whatever our status in life is, that we are nothing, and that we will never amount to anything. Those are all lies perpetrated by the devil that keep good people of faith bound to the distorted personality that they have come to know so well. Adam was naked when God told him that he was good, then the devil came and told Adam that he was naked and that it was shameful to be naked, so Adam felt shame for the first time. God gave Adam a choice, the tree of life which is the Word of God, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, the lies that begins the process of death as soon as they are ingested. The minute that Adam put more value on the lies of the devil, than over the truth of what God had told him, that he was good even though he was naked, as soon as he did that, he was barred from the life giving fruit of the Word of God. That is why Jesus the Word of God, had to come in the flesh and restore order, by exposing the lies of the devil, and displaying once again the great value that God has placed on every human soul. Matthew 16:26 “For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” We, like old Adam, are continuously bombarded by Satan’s accusations, he never gets tired of telling us that we are naked, and that our behavior is shameful, and that there must be something really wrong with us, and why don’t we just give it up. Did you know that the devil never told me that my actions would one day lead me to hell until I became born again. Imagine that, for twenty nine years I was lost and on my way to hell, and not a peep from him, boy, but as soon as I got saved, all hell broke loose. All of the sudden everything I did seemed offensive enough to the devil, and grievous enough in his view to cause me to fall out of favor with God. Then I remember the words of Jesus that truly describes who the devil really is, and a smile comes to my face: John 8:44 “...When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.” Whatever stories the devil has been telling you, remember this, he never, ever, speaks on God’s behalf, for God is Truth, and the devil has no concept whatsoever as to what truth really is. Maybe you never had a father that loved you, if Jesus is your savior, you have One now! For the Bible calls Him the Everlasting Father and the Prince of Peace. Everlasting because He will never leave you nor forsake you no matter what. He will never run out on you and there is nothing that you can do to get rid of Him. Hide that truth deep into your soul and you’ll have peace. Did you know that everything bad that the devil ever said about you is a lie? Now if you hesitated when you read that, then you need to read once more those red letters, where Jesus calls him out for what he really is, the father, that means originator of all lies. All that’s left for us to do is to keep seeking the revelation from the Word of God that will expose those hidden things that keep holding us back from who we really are in the Lord. Psalm 139:23-24 “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked (lies) way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Every time that the Lord exposes a lie that we’ve harbored, let us renounce it immediately and replace it with the Truth of the Word of God. AMEN! Previous Next

  • SPIRITUAL REALITIES | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)

< Back SPIRITUAL REALITIES Pastor Marcos Marrero Objective: The objective of Spiritual Realities is to reveal the deeper truth about the unseen spiritual realm that governs and sustains the visible world. Pastor Marcos teaches believers to discern between temporary physical realities and eternal spiritual truths, grounding their faith in the Word of God rather than in what their natural senses perceive. This lesson seeks to strengthen the believer’s walk by equipping them with knowledge of how the visible and invisible realms interact, and how to exercise spiritual authority in Christ. Synopsis: In Spiritual Realities, Pastor Marcos explores the profound difference between what appears real to the natural eye and what is truly eternal. Drawing from 2 Corinthians 4:18 and Hebrews 11:3, he explains that the visible world is sustained by invisible forces, affirming that God’s Word is the ultimate reality. Science itself, with its discoveries about unseen particles and energy fields, only confirms what Scripture has declared—that everything is upheld by the power of God’s Word. The teaching highlights the existence of two realms: the physical, which is temporary and three-dimensional, and the spiritual, which is eternal and four-dimensional. Angels, as ministering spirits, operate in this unseen realm on behalf of believers, while demonic forces resist them from the kingdom of darkness. Understanding these dynamics allows Christians to walk by faith, confident that they are never alone in their spiritual battles. Pastor Marcos emphasizes that authority has been given to believers through the name of Jesus, granting them power not only over demonic forces but also influence over creation itself, which eagerly awaits the manifestation of the children of God (Romans 8:19–21). Through testimonies of miraculous healing, he illustrates that faith anchored in God’s Word enables believers to experience spiritual realities that transcend physical limitations. Ultimately, the message calls believers to cling to eternal truths—God’s love, Christ’s sacrifice, His resurrection, and His promised return—rather than to the fleeting illusions of the natural world. As Pastor Marcos concludes, the most real and unchanging truth is that salvation is found in Jesus Christ, who is both the force of creation and the eternal Word made flesh. Written teaching: 2 Corinthians 4:18 “While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” What is reality? Humanly speaking we could say that reality is what we see with our eyes and what we touch with our hands, and that if we cannot touch it or see it because it is invisible, that it probably doesn’t exist or that at least is not real to us. Science however, has discovered that the things that we see and touch are made of particles that are invisible, and that when we come in contact with the things that appear to be solid and real, that we are not really even touching them, but rather, when we feel like we are touching something solid we are in reality feeling an invisible electromagnetic field or force that holds the particles together that form the visible stuff, and these forces repel one another, so that whatever force keeps the particles together in one form repel the particles that keep together another form. What that means is that every time I strike a key on my keyboard as I am writing this lesson, I am not really touching nothing that is solid, there is some force emanating from my finger tips that repels the force that holds together the particles that comprise my keyboard and make it visible, but my fingers and the keyboard never really come into contact with one another. Try figuring that one out; in other words, reality is not really what we think it to be. Which raises the question, what is real? Hebrews 11:3 “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made (are not comprise) of things which are visible.” Isn’t it amazing how true science does nothing but corroborate what the Word of God teaches us? Clearly the answer to the question I posed earlier, what is real? Is, The Word of God, that’s reality! Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is living (life creating and life sustaining and powerful (the invisible energy or force that holds everything together), and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the division (separation) of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” So that the Word of God which created everything, sustains the creation by the power of an invisible force that holds everything together that God created. That force is also what separates the visible from the invisible so that everything occupies its own space in its interaction with the rest of the creation, what scientists call locality. Acts 17:28 “For in Him (the Word that became flesh) we live and move and have our being (existence).” The visible, what we call the physical realm, exists in a three-dimensional universe, but the invisible, what we call the spiritual realm, exists in a four-dimensional universe that is intertwined with the physical realm. So here is the key, the visible physical realm is totally made of invisible stuff, and the things which may appear real to us in reality are not. How does knowledge of this, or the lack of it, affects my walk of faith? Understanding the interactions of the physical and spiritual realm is key if we want to follow after the spirit and not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. Hebrews 1:14 “Are they not all (the holy angels) ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?” Angels inhabit the fourth dimension, or what we call the spiritual realm, they are eternal creatures made of and sustained by the creating energy and do not have physical bodies. They can project themselves into our three-dimensional physical realm into whatever image they think is appropriate for their ministry on behalf of the saints, or remain invisible for that matter, but always working on and for the protection of the saints. Knowledge of this type of interactions, like that of knowing that we are never really alone when facing the creatures of darkness that are ever opposing us, can help our faith to be strengthen during a spiritual battle. In the same manner, the demonic forces that we wrestle against in our physical realm, are not physical, they are unclean spirits that operate out of the invisible realm of darkness. The spiritual realm is divided into two camps, the third heaven or paradise which Jesus refers to in the Lord’s prayer: Thy kingdom come Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, this heaven is also called the Kingdom of Light, and is where two thirds of the angels reside, all these are the holy angels. The other part of the spiritual realm is called the kingdom of darkness or the underworld, the second heaven out of which the demons operate, where one third of the fallen angels reside. Both of these kingdoms are invisible to us yet we interact with them in our daily walk in a regular basis. Hebrews 13:2 “Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.” So that these types of interactions are real and can be beneficial to us if we understand how they are continuously working on our behalf to aid us. Also our understanding of these interactions can be helpful in protecting us from the unwanted intrusions that originate from the underworld and the creatures of darkness that are always coming against us. Hebrews 13:6 “So we may boldly say: ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me (since God has angels working on our behalf)?’” Here is revelation, if the creatures of the spiritual realm, the fourth dimension, have the abilities to interact with and or interfere with our three-dimensional time/space, can we then, the creatures that dwell in the physical three-dimensional realm cross over and interact with the spiritual realm which is in the fourth dimension and do that to our advantage? Luke 10:17-21 “Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, ‘Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.’ And He said to them, ‘I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits (the invisible energy creatures) are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in (the third) heaven.’” Jesus gives to us a tremendous insight into what the power of His name here on earth really entails. He tells them, do not just rejoice in the fact that in mine name the invisible creatures of the fourth dimension are subject to you, but rejoice in the fact that your names are written in heaven. What I believe that means is that not only are the creatures of the fourth dimension subject to us in His name, but that the creation itself falls under our jurisdiction as well, for it is from the third heaven that the creation itself is ruled from, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven! Romans 8:19, 21 “For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God...because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.” The creation is not just waiting for us to show up, but it says that it is eagerly waiting for us to be liberated from our bondage to a false reality that hold us captive to the natural world. What is it that keeps our understanding in chains? Hosea 3:6 & 6:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge...For I desire mercy and not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.” There’s a couple of insights into the passages we just quoted from Hosea; First, a burnt offering sacrifice is the act of converting something that is real physical matter, back into its original invisible state, by releasing the particles that form a physical body, the sacrifice, from the force that holds that body together as a visible unit, through the agency of fire. In other words, taking something that though visible is comprised of invisible particles and releasing those invisible particles back into the invisible realm as an act of worship. Which brings us to the second point, the knowledge of God that is gained by understanding what a burnt offering really meant to begin with. So that in all of this, it was always our understanding of the mechanics of how the physical and spiritual realms interact that God was after: I desire mercy and not sacrifice...knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. 1 Corinthians 1:30 “But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom (revealed knowledge by His sacrificial act on the cross) from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption.” Here is what I believe all these things mean; The creation began when God spoke and said: Let there be light (energy), and then He proceeded to complete the creation with all of the energy that He first released out of His mouth, so that everything that exists now, both visible and invisible, were made and are sustained by the Word that came out of God’s mouth. John 1:1-3 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He (the Word) was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him (the Word), and without Him nothing was made that was made.” Not only did God make everything by the breath of His mouth, but as we read earlier, He also sustains everything as well by the breath of His mouth. Acts 17:28 “For in Him we live and move and have our being.” John 1:14 “And the Word became flesh…” Energy became matter! And they named Him, the energy that became matter, Jesus. All the invisible particles that are made of energy, whether joined together to form some physical visible body, or loosed in their invisible form somewhere in the universe, all have to answer to the name of Jesus, no matter whatever state they are in. For Jesus is the force that created them, that sustains them, and that governs them. Philippians 2:9-10 “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him (the Word that became flesh) and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven (invisible four-dimensional spiritual realm, third heaven), and of those on the earth (the physical three-dimensional visible realm), and of those under the earth (the second heaven four-dimensional spiritual underworld, the realm of darkness).” So that from a scientific point of view, those of us whose names have been written in heaven, have been invested with authority in the name of Jesus, to rule over the invisible realm of particles that make up everything in the universe, both the physical and invisible. And not only are we expected to exercise that authority, but the creation itself eagerly waits for us to exercise such authority. Mark 11:23 “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” Notice how Jesus tells us where the power resides, whoever says, the power resides in the words that we speak. If it is a mountain of dirt and rocks that we are speaking to, that dirt and those rocks are made of invisible energy particles that respond to the Word of God, the energy that causes some particles to hold together and others to repel each other, those energy particles can make such a mountain disappear in a second by just disbanding. You see, as those particles start to repel one another at the command of God’s Word, such mountain can disappear in an instant into thin air. Now you see it and now you don’t, just like that. But in our natural mind, which is confined to our present reality, when we first read about that huge mountain disappearing, immediately our mind turns to, how many buckets does it take to carry all that dirt out and where in the world are we going to put it? Let’s talk about another type of mountain, let’s say, a cancerous tumor that threatens the life of a loved one; what is that cancer made out of? Invisible particles that bond together and are continuously growing. In the natural if we cut that cancer out, chances are that it may spread to other parts of the body, also if it is growing in an organ that is vital to life, will such removal cause more damage than help? What if by a simple word of faith that understands not only how things are made and function, but that as believers we have such authority in the name of Jesus to cause such tumor to disappear without spreading or damaging anything to which is connected within that body, in an instant. Many years ago, there was a man here in California who was originally from my home town in Cuba, he was older than me and a friend of my eight years older brother, that was my only knowledge of him. Through my brother I found out that he was dying of a cancerous tumor in his stomach. Every time my brother spoke about him and his trials the Holy Spirit convicted me to go and pray for this man, I was young in my faith and resisted by saying to myself, probably this man does not even remember me or know who I am, for I was a kid the last time he saw me. One morning my brother told me that after years of struggling with that cancer, his friend was about to die and that they gave him his last rites that night in the hospital and he was not expected to make it through that morning. I rushed to the hospital thinking that if I didn’t the Holy Spirit would be grieved by my disobedience and that maybe this man would not make it to heaven. When I got there, it was a horrible scene, he could not eat so he was less than eighty pounds, they had earlier opened his stomach in surgery, but the tumor was too big and because of where it was could not be removed. He had tried to get out of the bed and had fallen to the floor and was put back into his bed before I got there, and there was some kind of fluid on the floor by his bed just as I walked in and stepped in it. I remember speaking to God in my mind and saying: Lord I think you got the wrong man, I am just not cut out for this type of ministry. The man woke up and looked at me startled, I told him that I was Carlos’ brother and had come to see him. I saw shame in his eyes and I don’t know why. He did not seem to want to talk to me or look at me anymore, desperate to fulfill whatever mission God had sent me there for I asked him if he had a Bible as I looked at a funeral brochure that his wife had left by his bed, how I connected the Bible with a funeral pamphlet I’ll never know, but when I mentioned the word Bible his eyes lit up and he told me, almost in a cheerful mode how he would love to have a Bible in the Spanish language. I ran out as fast as I could to the church I attended miles away, where I knew my pastor kept Spanish language Bibles to pass out. When I got back to his hospital room he was not there anymore, they had moved him to another facility to die there, I met his wife in the hallway who told me many of the things that I just shared with you about his condition, but she remarked how elated he was that I had gone there to take him a Bible and how he insisted that she stay back and wait for the Bible that I promised him. That night was Friday night when we normally had a home Bible study, which I could not teach for I felt like such a failure. I told those who showed up for the study how I had failed and broke into tears. They were nice to me and understood, we had fellowship and they left. Just then, my nephew who had taken his dad, my brother, to see if he could see his friend one more time before he died called me and said: What did you do to that man? He could not stop talking about you showing up and taking him a Bible and what a difference that had made in his life, it was like somebody else showed up there and ministered to this man and I know it wasn’t me, but I was somehow getting the credit for it. He told the nurses that he was hungry and wanted to eat. I think that eventually they started to feed him again and that weekend he accepted the Lord as his savior watching a Jimmy Swagger service that was translated into the Spanish language. One week later I went to see him again before they released him from the hospital. He told me that they could not find the cancer and that it was gone. So, they were sending him home and he was thanking me for the Bible that brought such a change in his life. I prayed and asked the Lord what had really happened that day, for this man’s recollection of what happened and mine were totally different. The Lord in a stern tone said to me; the results are never left up to you, and by that He meant men, the only thing left to you men to do is for you to obey Me when I call you and to show up. And knowing that I was, as a teacher of His Word, interested in what mechanism He had used to heal that man, He told me, when you mentioned the word Bible, the spirit of that man understood it as My Word and what My Word desired to do on behalf of that man. You went just along for the ride so that I could teach you not to trust in the reality that you see, but in the reality of My Word. Romans 10:17 “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” As we proceed into the last days of this age, reality, or should I say, our perception of it, is going to get more and more difficult to comprehend with our natural abilities. That is because our world has been programmed by this end time deception to tune into the world of the supernatural that is driven by the rulers of darkness as we get closer to the end of this age. We as believers have to depend totally, so that we can spiritually discern what’s happening, on the fidelity of the Word of God and our understanding of what it teaches us in regards to what is really real and what is not. We need to remember that the world with all its lusts is passing away, while the promises of God remain forever. What are you clinging to? I will ask one more time: What is real? God so loved the world that He sent Jesus to save us; that is real! Jesus died to forgive and to cleanse us from all our sins; that is real! Jesus is coming back to judge both the living and the dead; that is real! The trials and tribulations that we are facing are temporary; that is real! The blessings of God for enduring trials faithfully are eternal; that is real! If you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior you can receive Him right now, just as you are, for they that call upon the name of the Lord will be saved; Now it does not get any more real than that, does it? Thank you Jesus for allowing me the privilege to proclaim Your Word! Previous Next

  • DELIVERANCE FROM DISCOURAGEMENT | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)

< Back DELIVERANCE FROM DISCOURAGEMENT Pastor Marcos Marrero Objective: The objective of this teaching is to equip believers with the biblical tools to overcome discouragement by relying on the Word of God as their spiritual weapon. It seeks to encourage Christians to remain strong and courageous in the face of trials, recognizing that discouragement is a spiritual battle fought with God’s promises, prayer, and faith. The lesson aims to help the reader align their perspective with God’s timing and purpose, so they may walk in victory and hope regardless of changing circumstances. Synopsis: In Deliverance from Discouragement, Pastor Marcos Marrero draws from Joshua’s journey into leadership after the death of Moses to highlight how God strengthens His people against discouragement. God repeatedly commands Joshua to be strong and courageous, teaching that His Word must be meditated on, spoken aloud, and used as a weapon against spiritual attacks. The teaching explains that discouragement feeds on death and change, both of which bring uncertainty and fear. Yet God’s command to Joshua—“Moses My servant is dead…Arise, go over this Jordan”—reveals the call to move forward in faith instead of remaining bound by despair. Pastor Marcos compares this to today’s world, where moral decline, cultural changes, and spiritual compromise can easily lead Christians into discouragement. However, God’s timing is always perfect, and His promises remain sure despite shifting circumstances. The message emphasizes the need for prayer, unity of the Spirit, and confidence in God’s eternal refuge. Using biblical examples, Marrero encourages believers to wield the “sword of the Spirit,” remain steadfast in faith, and find joy in the unchanging promises of God. Ultimately, the teaching reminds Christians that discouragement cannot prevail when we understand God is in control, and that even in times of decline and suffering, our blessed hope in Christ draws nearer. Written teaching: Joshua 1:7 “Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.” Several times the Lord tells Joshua to be strong and very courageous, for this is a critical time in the life of Joshua, and the Lord is ministering to him personally, to keep him from getting discouraged by the circumstances that he is presently facing and those which he will be facing later. We need to remember that discouragement is a spirit, and we do not fight spirits with physical weapons, for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, we fight spirits with the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, and that is how we overcome them. Joshua 1:8 “This Book of the Law (the Word of God) shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” God tells Joshua that His Word, which He gave the Israelites through Moses, is an indispensable weapon that he needs to use and maintain continuously in order to overcome the spirit of discouragement. How do you fire this weapon? With your mouth! Watch what you say! We are to meditate in His Word day and night, that is how we keep our spiritual weapons clean and loaded, and we are to fire it every time that we come under attack from the enemy. If the spirit of discouragement has a favorite meal, the spirit of death would be it, for discouragement feeds on dead things like worms do. Joshua 1:2 “Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel.” Death always brings change with it, and change is something that we naturally mistrust, for with change comes another opportunity for us to fail, and in our relationship with God, having a new opportunity to fail God again in a different way, is not something that we welcome. God simply tells Joshua with five little words that, Moses My servant is dead, and with that simple, yet very powerful statement, He tells Joshua that it is time to move one and to, Arise, go over this Jordan. God is basically telling Joshua not to be afraid to cross that river that stands between him and God’s promises, and to not let the spirit of discouragement keep him from fulfilling God’s destiny for his life. From Joshua’s experience we can learn that he had plenty of opportunities to be discourage, when God took Moses to the mountain top for forty days, Joshua was kept out in no man’s land, while the children of Israel that stayed back and fell into idol worship. It is very difficult for us humans to deal with the reality of not belonging, for what we are a part of, is what helps us to identify with who we are as a person. Joshua was in a transition period for many years, kept there by God until the day came when he was to step into the new order of things that God had prepared him to fulfill. Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Perhaps the most difficult part for us to understand when we are in the midst of no man’s land, spiritually speaking, is that we are still part of the purpose and will of God, not only for our lives, but even within the will and greater purpose that Jesus has for His church. There are so many things changing right now that it is impossible for me to enumerate them all, but it is this change that is taking place right now, that is discouraging so many Christians today. We are living witnesses of the demise of western civilization. We are witnessing the death of the institution of marriage, and we are witnessing the death of the godly principles that the martyr’s of the Gospel of Jesus Christ died to secure for us. Life has become a choice as well as gender. Many churches have fallen prey to the gospel of conformity, so that the spiritual life of many churches has been drained out, leaving many of the faithful within those churches to ask this question, where has the Spirit gone? Death and change seem to be the only certainty. In order for us not to get discourage we need to keep all that is going on right now within the context of the Word of God. Remember that God promised Abraham four hundred years earlier the land that they were about to enter, and God also told Abraham that the iniquity of the inhabitants of the land had not reached its peak at that time, so that his descendants would have to wait for their inheritance before they could enter and possess the land of promise. Genesis 15:13, 16 “...Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs (Egypt), and will serve them, and they will afflict them four hundred years...But in the fourth generation they shall return here (the land promised to Abraham), for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete.” So that God’s timing precedes everything, way before Moses was born, and before Joshua was born, and before whatever circumstance arose that Joshua was facing, God had already set up the time and date for their conquest to begin four hundred years earlier. Had Joshua concentrated on the facts that his circumstances presented him with, he would have had reasons to be discouraged. But God was there to remind him to keep his eyes on the Word of God, for therein lay the promises of a God who cannot lie. 2 Timothy 3:1-4 “ But know this, that in the last days perilous (times of stress) times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.” But know this: Can you hear the certainty with which Paul makes this statement about our present day condition? It helps us to know that whatever it is that is going on right now, God knew what it would be like thousands of years before it came to pass. Let us ask ourselves a few questions in regards as to what is going on today, and let us see if we can answer them within the context of what God said would take place, and what took place during the days of Joshua. Is the world as a whole and society in particular going through a radical change right now for the worst? Yes it is. Did God say that it would happen like this at the end of time? Yes He did. Is there a reason why God is letting the moral fibers of society to become undone? Yes there is. Why is God letting those things that kept us together for centuries all of the sudden become undone? Have we reached the point of conclusion? Our prayer emphasis has been for the unity of the Spirit, the more united that we become in the Spirit in our prayers, the stronger that we are at restraining the power of lawlessness. It is my belief that true Christianity does not slack in prayer in the face of discouraging news, it is the opposite, the more bad news that we hear, the greater our prayer emphasis becomes, for we know that the more that sins abound, the more that the grace of God abounds as well, so that we do not give up in our praying no matter what. I’ve then reached the conclusion that the reason why the power of lawlessness seems to be increasing it is because we are within reach of the point of conclusion, the event horizon, the point of the end. If that is the case, the death of Moses before Joshua lead the children of Israel into the Promised Land, can be likened to the death of our Judeo-Christian values before our Joshua, Jesus, leads us into our Promised Land, the resurrection and rapture of the body of Christ. Isn’t it amazing that from Christianity’s point of view death does not lead into depression but into salvation? For us Christians, natural death is welcome for as stated within His promises, Absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, so that as we are witnessing the death of everything that is near and dear to us, be it civil or moral, religious or traditional, the things that are dying, be it good or bad, can only mean one thing for us Christians, our blessed hope is nearer than we think. Here is the last will and testament of Moses, the servant of God, before He died and blessed the children of Israel with these promises. Deuteronomy 33:26-29 “There in no one like the God of Jeshurun, who rides the heavens to help you, and in His excellency on the clouds. The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms; He will thrust out the enemy from before you, and will say, ‘Destroy!’ Then Israel shall dwell in safety, the fountain of Jacob alone, in a land of grain and new wine; His heavens shall also drop dew. Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord, the shield of your help and the sword of your majesty! Your enemies shall summit to you, and you shall tread down their high places.” Here are some promises that will keep us from getting discouraged no matter what changes we are going through right now. Who rides the heavens to help you. We can count on His spiritual help; just this week I saw on the news how Christians are being killed and persecuted in the Middle East, and how their places of worship and homes are being burned, I saw this Christian priest forced face down to the ground before he was beheaded, and I thought to myself, what a great honor this man was given, it humbled me to the core, how God allows some of His servants to die a martyr’s death, I could just hear the cheers from heaven as he was welcome into the joy of our Lord and given a place of honor among those who have died for the faith, like apostles and prophets of old. It touched me because every night my wife and I pray for those who are being persecuted for the sake of the Gospel, and in my prayer I always pray that God would give His strength to those whom He has called to give their life as an offering to God, seeing this man, not resisting but peaceful, encouraged me to know that God always answers our prayers. The eternal God is your refuge. In the natural, those killed and those persecuted and tortured for the sake of the Gospel, might be viewed by unspiritual people as unfortunate or disadvantaged, but what does the Word of God say? Hebrews 13:6 “So we may boldly say: ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?’” Our time here on this earth is temporary, our refuge in God is eternal! Happy are you, O Israel. Happy people are people who are not discouraged. For their happiness is based on the eternal promises of God that do not change with the circumstances. The shield of your help and the sword of your majesty! Remember how God told Joshua that, This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, well, the shield of our help is the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the breastplate of righteousness which cover and protect our vital parts, but we have also been given a majestic sword, and this is an offensive weapon, which we can use to execute against our spiritual enemies the will of God, to tread down and subdue the strongholds of the enemy, with the words that proceed out of our mouths, as we enforce the Word of God over our enemies. Psalm 149:6-9 “Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand, to execute vengeance on the nations, and punishments on the peoples; to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute on them the written judgment—this honor have all His saints. Praise the Lord!” Once we understand that if we are in the will of God, whether we are called to martyrdom, suffering, or to triumph over our enemies, it does not matter what the circumstances are, as long as we believe that we are within the will of God for our lives, no discouragement can afflict us. Nations may fall, they may rise, or nothing may end up taking place after all, it does not really matter, as long as we know that our God is in total and complete control of whatever situation we might be facing, we have peace and the assurance of His promises for us who believe. Joshua 1:5 “No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.” Go into God’s spiritual bank today, and in the name of Jesus deposit some of these promises, for they will suffice to cover for whatever debt or lack you may have that is causing you to be discouraged. Just remember that whatever situation you are facing today will pass, but the promises of God, they endure forever. Previous Next

  • FIVE AND NINE, GRACE AND THE SPIRIT | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)

< Back FIVE AND NINE, GRACE AND THE SPIRIT Pastor Marcos Marrero Objective: The objective of this teaching is to reveal the divine relationship between the numbers five and nine in Scripture, showing how they symbolize God’s grace and spiritual completeness. By examining Paul’s exhortations in 1 Thessalonians 5:14–22, the lesson emphasizes the five graces that form the foundation of Christian maturity and the nine spiritual necessities that follow, leading believers into sanctification, wholeness, and a life aligned with the Spirit. Synopsis: In FIVE AND NINE, GRACE AND THE SPIRIT, Pastor Marcos Marrero explores the symbolic and spiritual significance of biblical numbers as they apply to the Christian walk. Beginning with 1 Thessalonians 5:14, Paul instructs believers through five foundational graces—exhort, warn, comfort, uphold, and be patient—which guide personal growth, knowledge, perseverance, and maturity in Christ. These five graces, when cultivated, give birth to nine spiritual necessities listed in verses 15–22, including rejoicing always, praying without ceasing, giving thanks, testing all things, and abstaining from evil. Pastor Marcos explains that just as the number five represents God’s grace and breath, and the number nine represents spiritual completeness, together they form a fourteen-fold process leading to full sanctification of spirit, soul, and body. The teaching draws from examples in both Old and New Testaments—highlighting the nine fruits of the Spirit, nine beatitudes, and nine gifts—as patterns of completeness. Through this lens, Marrero emphasizes that God’s grace (five) working in us produces the Spirit’s fullness (nine), resulting in a life that is whole and blameless before Christ. Ultimately, the message reminds believers that, though we are nothing apart from God, aligning ourselves with Him transforms us from zero to ten, bringing us into spiritual completeness by the power of grace and the Spirit. Written teaching: 1 Thessalonians 5:14 “Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.” In verse fourteen Paul gives to us five words that will help us to bring forth spiritual qualities in our walk with Christ that will make us whole. As we will see in verses fifteen through twenty-two, nine spiritual necessities are numbered, and they flow as the result of implementing the five graces that he first introduced us to. In biblical reckoning numbers are symbolic. We know that the number nine is the number that symbolizes spiritual completeness, that is why there are 27 New Testament books, nine three times. There are nine spiritual fruits listed in Galatians 5:22-23. In Matthew 5:3-11, nine spiritual blessings are uttered by Jesus. And in 1 Corinthians 12: nine spiritual gifts are listed as well. Whether it is talking about fruit, blessings, or gifts, by enumerating nine of them in each case, it is conveying the idea of spiritual completion in each case. The number five is the number that represents the grace of God. The fifth letter in the Hebrew alphabet represents breath, it is pronounced he, or hey, in either case breath has to come out of our mouths in a short blast in order to enunciate the fifth letter. Since the universe (one-verse, or one-breath) was created by the breath that came out of God’s mouth, the fifth Hebrew letter also represents the Word of God, and in it is where all His graces are found. In Psalm 119, eight verses are given to describe the meaning of each one of the twenty two letters in the Hebrew alphabet, 22 X 8 = 176, so that there are 176 verses in Psalm 119. Look at what the eight verses that correspond to the fifth letter say about the meaning of the fifth letter. Psalm 119:33-40 "1) Teach me, O lord, the way of Your statutes, and I shall keep it to the end. 2) Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law; indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart. 3) Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, for I delight in it. 4) Incline my heart to Your testimonies, and not to covetousness. 5) Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, and revive me in Your way. 6) Establish Your word to Your servant, who is devoted to fearing You. 7) Turn away my reproach which I dread, for Your judgments are good. 8) Behold, I long for Your precepts; revive me in Your righteousness.” Even though there are eight verses, the spiritual nature of God’s Word is revealed to us in a nine-fold form: statutes, law, commandments, testimonies, way, word, judgments, precepts, righteousness. It is no coincidence either that our opening verse of Scripture is found in chapter 5 and verse 14, since five and nine add to the number 14. Also, the nine necessities that Paul reveals starting in verse 15, end in verse 22, which symbolizes the completion of the Hebrew alphabet. Just like the book of Revelation has 22 chapters and completes the entirety of the Bible which is the Word of God. All of that to say that the Holy Spirit wants us to pay very close attention to what we have been taught by the five graces, for they can bring about spiritual completeness, that is, deliverance to our souls. Exhort, warn, comfort, uphold, patient. These are the five graces. Exhort has to do with personal growth. 1 Thessalonians 4:1 “Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God.” Our deliverance is a process that goes from glory to glory. We do not conquer to rest when we fight spiritual battles, we briefly rest after we conquer in order to battle and conquer some more. If we are contented with our present spiritual level we will never reach the maturity of the faith. And notice how Paul adds an urgency to the exhort part, God will not give us spiritual maturity unless we zealously desire it. 1 Corinthians 12:31 “But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.” Paul completes the chapter where the nine spiritual gifts are listed, with the commandment to earnestly desire, not just the gifts, but the best gifts. Warn has to do with personal knowledge of high the cost is, and how great the loss is if we fail to mature in Christ, for there is a lot at stake. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 “For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to posses his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion or lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God.” Without knowledge there can be no personal deliverance, no sanctification, no walking in self-control. Proverbs 11:9 “...But through knowledge the righteous will be delivered.” Comfort has to do with the hope of the resurrection which is the antidote for the sorrow that leads to discouragement. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 “But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.” The process of sanctification contains many ups and downs, but nothing is worse than the lost of a love one that walked side by side with us, and that shared in our triumphs a well as our defeats. So to keep us from getting discouraged Paul charges us with these words about the hope of the resurrection. 1 Thessalonians 4:18 “Therefore comfort one another with these words.” Uphold has to do with not giving up our spiritual visions, dreams, and desires, regardless of how much opposition and resistance we face. 1 Thessalonians 3:4 “For, in fact, we told you before when we were with you that we would suffer tribulation, just as it happened, and you know.” If we are not being persecuted by the world, it is because we are not upholding the spiritual principles that have been handed down to us by God’s holy apostles and prophets. 1 Thessalonians 4:7 “For God did not call us to uncleanness, but to holiness.” We cannot be established by God until we uphold the principles of holiness to which we were called by God to uphold. 1 Thessalonians 3:13 “So that He may establish (uphold) your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.” Be Patient has to do with a mature understanding of the spiritual process. 1 Thessalonians 1:3 “Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father.” Faith hope and love always go together. We believe the Gospel through the love that is manifested toward us in it, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us, then we patiently hope that the work that Jesus began in us, He will bring to completion as long as we do not give up. 1 Thessalonians 5:24 “He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it.” These five graces are the foundation which will bring in us the nine spiritual qualities that can make us whole. 1 Thessalonians 5:15-22 "1) See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, 2) But always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. 3) Rejoice always, 4) Pray without ceasing, 5) In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 6) Do not quench the Spirit. 7) Do not despise prophecies. 8) Test all things; hold fast what is good. 9) Abstain from every form of evil.” In this lesson, the five graces represent the root of the tree, if the root of the tree is well nurtured, these nine branches will form a tree which will not fail to produce spiritual fruit to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And here are the results of this fourteen-fold process: 1 Thessalonians 5:23 “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” The words completely, and your whole spirit, soul, and body, are all represented in the numbers five and nine. If you want to know what all these things mean to you my friend, here is the simple answer, God has your number! God is the big number One, we are the simple zero, by ourselves we are nothing, and we have nothing. But when we by faith align ourselves to Him in the proper order, immediately we become His precious treasured possessions. The only way that a worthless zero can ever become a ten is by surrendering everything to Jesus Christ, and by making these simple steps a way of life, and God Himself will take care of the rest. • DO NOT GRIEVE THE HOLY SPIRIT | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)

< Back DO NOT GRIEVE THE HOLY SPIRIT Pastor Marcos Marrero Objective: The objective of this teaching is to instruct believers on how to honor and preserve the presence of the Holy Spirit in their lives and ministries. Pastor Marcos emphasizes the necessity of walking in alignment with God’s calling, maintaining humility and unity, and understanding the unique functions of the fivefold ministry. The goal is to ensure that Christians live and serve in a way that builds up the body of Christ and does not hinder or grieve the Holy Spirit, who is essential for all true ministry. Synopsis: In Do Not Grieve the Holy Spirit, Pastor Marcos unpacks Paul’s warning in Ephesians 4:30, reminding the church that ministry apart from the Spirit is ineffective. He begins by stressing the importance of believers knowing and walking in their specific calling, as failing to do so disrupts the Spirit’s flow and hinders spiritual growth. Using an illustration from his personal work experience, he highlights that God alone determines and equips each person’s role, and success comes from faithfulness to that call rather than comparison with others. Pastor Marcos then explains the necessity of humility, patience, and unity in ministry. He warns against desiring positions outside of one’s calling for reasons of pride or prestige, as such attitudes grieve the Spirit and harm the body. Every gift and calling, he notes, is for the equipping of the saints and the edification of the one body of Christ. The teaching then explores the functions of the fivefold ministry—apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers—comparing them to the five senses of the human body, which allow Christ’s body to function effectively on earth. Apostolic and prophetic ministries provide foundational truth, evangelists win souls, pastors guard and feed the flock, and teachers store and distribute the treasures of God’s Word. Each role is vital, and misalignment or neglect diminishes the church’s health. Ultimately, Pastor Marcos reminds readers that grieving the Spirit occurs when believers ignore their God-given assignments, serve with the wrong attitudes, or fail to honor the structure God established for His church. He calls Christians to embrace their calling, walk in unity and humility, and serve faithfully under the Spirit’s anointing so that the body of Christ may grow into the fullness of Christ. Written teaching: Ephesians 4:30 “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.” In Ephesians chapter four Paul is dealing with the church from the perspective of what God’s call is to the body of Christ for ministry, Paul is dealing with all levels of ministry. By the time that he gets to the end of the chapter he adds the above warning: Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, almost as a redundant warning of something that should have been obvious to all who were serving our Lord back then, and that is that, without the Holy Spirit there is no true ministry. Unfortunately, what was very clear to the believers of Paul’s day has become somewhat muddled in our present time, because there are many ministries today that do not function under the unction of the Holy Spirit. Let us begin under the assumption that the ministers and ministry types that we are going to examine here, are all called by God and abide in true service to God; then let us ask this question: How do I personally, and how do we as a body, keep from grieving the Holy Spirit of God when rendering to Him what is our due reverence to Him, our service? Number One: We need to know what our calling is! Ephesians 4:1 “I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called.” Not knowing what our calling is, and that we are all called, will surely hinder in us the flow of the Holy Spirit that is so vital for our spiritual growth, and so necessary for our training and edification. Imagine getting hired to work in a large department store or factory, and when we get there we have no idea as to what place or division we are to report to. We wouldn't just start working and serving aimlessly somewhere in that place in the hope that somebody from the placement department that hired us to begin with will eventually find us and send us to our proper destination. Yet, that is what many Christians do, after they get saved instead of seeking what God’s ministry and calling is for them, they just serve out of place where others are glad to have their help, but it will not profit the person that is in the wrong place any, because as far as management is concerned, they did not show up to work where they were needed. Number Two: We need to have the right attitude, a humbled spirit! Ephesians 4:2-3 “With all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another with love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” There are some that after they get saved, have a desire to serve in a ministry that they are not called to perform, because in their eyes this other ministry is a more glamorous ministry than the one, they know they were called to; this too is grievous to the Holy Spirit. So that we are not only supposed to be in the right ministry, but we also need to have the right attitude about the ministry that we are in. Humility includes lots of patience also, and patience is needed because in a sense we are all in training. If we think that we can do a better job at what another person has been called to do, our tendency might be that of doing their part just because we can do it better and or faster than they can, and by us doing what they are supposed to be doing, we hinder their calling to the point that they will never get the training necessary to eventually fulfill their calling. I was involved in the making of a TV commercial once for the company that I worked for at that time. The setting was in a beautiful three story house in Malibu, California, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. I was spraying the outside stucco of the house with a life long texture coating material, the owner of the company had arranged for a Hollywood crew that filmed commercials to be there the day that I was spraying. After they finished filming my part, they set up to the side of the house a tarp over the grass and put a bucket of paint into which one of the commercial making crew was to through a paint brush into, to make the emphasis that if you put our product on your house you could get rid of your paint and brushes, for you would never have to paint again. There were about eight people in the commercial filming crew, and this one fellow was assigned the task of throwing the brush into the paint bucket, a smile still comes to my face as I am telling you the story, for this fellow could not hit the inside of the bucket no matter how hard the poor fellow tried. Take after take, changing the angle, getting closer to the bucket, nothing, they tried everything. Others on the crew would have no problem hitting the inside of the bucket in just one or two tries, to which somebody in the filming crew suggested to the director that they might have to use somebody other than the person that was assigned for that job originally, so that they could get the commercial done. To my amazement, the director told them that this fellow was hired by the commercial company for that purpose and that the company knew best, and that they would be there until that poor fellow got the brush into the bucket. Encouraged by the unshaken commitment of his boss as to what his calling was, the young man got the brush in the bucket in the very next take, the cheers from all of us who were there were heard all the way back to Los Angeles. But I learned a spiritual lesson that day that has served me well through the years. When it comes to God’s calling for a person’s life, only God knows the magnitude and the impact that His gift and calling will have in that person’s life, and after all is not how you begin, but the depth of your heart’s commitment to your call that really matters. So that when serving the Lord in ministry, as I recognized the gift and the calling of God upon a person that was serving in whatever ministry it was that I was in charged of at the time, I would immediately set out to help them to develop their gifts no matter how inept or uncomfortable they appeared at first, knowing that someday that person would glorify Jesus in the exercising of their calling. I found out that if I kept getting myself replaced by somebody that was better than me at whatever it was that I was doing, that the body of Jesus was being edified and better served, after all that is what really matters. Ephesians 4:4-7 “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift.” Although each one of us receives personal gifts, these gifts are always for the purpose of enabling and equipping the saints for the work of the ministry and for the edifying of the One body of Christ. Ephesians 4:12-13 “For the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” Number Three: Know what the function and emphasis of the five different offices of ministry are, for they embodied the qualities of leadership under which the church is and should be governed. Ephesians 4:11 “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers.” The church represents the physical body of Christ here on the earth, a physical body has five different senses, vision, hearing, smell, taste, touch, by which it navigates through life. The five offices of ministry are a spiritual representation of those five senses through which the body of Christ operates here on the earth. In order for us to be more effective in ministry, we need to know under which of those five offices, or combination of these offices, any given ministry into which we are involve with its functioning, for the spiritual emphasis will be different under each one of these five offices. Isaiah 29:10 “For the Lord has poured out on you the spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes, namely, the prophets; and He has covered your heads, namely the seers.” Here we see how the Lord uses that metaphor against Israel. Their eyes represent the spiritual vision that enables their prophets to prophesy God’s Word to the nation, and if you cover the entire head, they are no longer even able to process the Word of God that they already had. The Apostolic and the Prophetic Ministries In our present day the apostles and their apostolic ministry, along with the prophets and their prophetic ministry, represent the foundation upon which the entire church is built. Ephesians 2:20-22 “Having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building (the church), being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.” If an apostle is one who lays the foundation, and he is, then no other foundation can be laid but that which has already been laid by the founding apostles, and all true prophets will testify to that. 1 Corinthians 3:11 “For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” The apostolic ministries of today are ministries that start brand new churches in places where no other churches existed before, but if their foundation is not that which has already been laid, then that ministry is not part of the building of God, for it has not been erected on the original foundation which Christ laid when He built His church. The ministry of today’s prophets is not the same as it was for the prophets of Jesus’ days, for through their prophetic ministry God gave to us the books that comprise the New Testament through which the foundation of the church was established, hence: Having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets there is nothing new that we can add. However, the prophets of today are the ones that proclaim that which was prophesied by the prophets of old, in both the Old and New Testaments, as being extremely relevant to what is going on in the world of today, they keep God’s yet to be fulfilled promises alive to the present generation. Also, the prophets of today testify against the so-called churches that are not built on the solid foundation of God’s apostolic church but are built on a deviation of what God originally intended His church to be built on. And if you are involved in an apostolic ministry that aims to start new churches where none ever existed before, make sure that they are being built in the apostolic pattern laid out for us in the New Testament, and in you helping them, model your service to them in the same manner that those who helped the apostles build their churches back then did, that is why we have His Word in the New Testament to aid us. The Evangelistic Ministry An evangelist is one who preaches the Gospel for the purpose of making converts. You may ask, how does that differ from one who teaches and by his teaching leads others to the Lord? Or from a pastor who preaches and makes converts through his preaching? Salvation is not limited to any one ministry, for the Holy Spirit convicts' sinners every time the Word of God is proclaimed no matter who proclaims it. But just like the eye may see something and it is confirmed by the ear hearing something, the evangelistic ministry is designed to work hand in hand with the other two. The heart of a true evangelist however is in leading sinners to Christ, he is not as concerned with who is going to disciple the convert, or who is going to teach them spiritual principles, for the evangelist knows that that is the work of the church. 2 Timothy 4:5 “But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.” The Ministry of the Pastor The ministry of the pastor revolves around the task of keeping the flock together, as his title implies. A pastor’s main concern is that of maintaining the house/church in proper working order. He not only feeds the flock with the Word of God, but he also steers it away from danger. God has appointed the pastors as the overseers of the spiritual heath and well being of the flock. If the enemy, like a wolf, comes against one of the members of his church, that enemy will have to go through that pastor’s authority and watchful eyes in order to get to that member. So that the pastor is not overwhelmed by all his responsibilities, God brings into the church teachers, evangelists, administrators, and divers helps, that means everybody in the congregation, that allows that pastor to focus his energy into keeping his flock safe from spiritual attacks. If a pastor surrounds himself with wise elders that will inform and advise him truthfully about the spiritual condition of the church, what they see from their perspectives, that pastor will have everything that he needs to maintain his people safe, but if he ignores their wise counsel, his people will suffer the consequences. Nothing worse than a pastor that thinks that he knows everything, even David a wise shepherd himself, needed the counsel of the seers that God provided and surrounded him with. A pastor’s ministry is to build others up and not to tear them down, his ministry can be summed up by this verse of Scripture: Ephesians 4:29 “Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.” The Ministry of the Teacher Matthew 13:52 “He said to them, ‘Therefore every teacher of the law (the Word of God) who has been instructed about the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old.’” NIV Jesus really paints it with this verse as to what the nature and calling of a teacher really is. I once, during a time of fellowship with some very close friends who were asking if we could play some kind of constructive word game, suggested to them that we pretend that we were stranded in a desert island without our Bibles, and told them, let us see how much of John chapter one we can recreate from memory, and after we have exhausted every one of our recollections we will look it up and see how well we did. Well to begin with we could not even remember how many verses were in the whole chapter, can you without looking it up? A teacher of the Word of God may not really be able to literally, from his memory, have the ability to reconstruct all or even parts of the Word of God, but the essence of what that chapter was about was firmly etched in my heart. For that word had become real in my heart, and I went on to preach from it that night without opening a Bible. So that the ministry of a teacher of the Word of God is to store in the storeroom of his heart, the essence of the revelation that the Word of God brings to his enlightenment. To treasure the revelation that the Holy Spirit reveals into his heart to such a point that, they not only remember the revelation, but how it made them feel and the circumstances that brought the revelation about. An anointed teacher can be likened to a spiritual reservoir that can bring to a thirsty church rivers of living waters in the time of drought. 1 Samuel 3:1, 19 “Now the boy Samuel ministered to the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was rare in those days; there was no widespread revelation...So Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him and let none of his (God’s) words fall to the ground.” Previous Next

  • THE AWAKENING | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)

< Back THE AWAKENING Pastor Marcos Marrero Objective: The objective of The Awakening is to reveal how the unfolding of prophetic scripture, particularly through the breaking of the seals described in Revelation, has directly influenced human history and continues to shape the spiritual and political landscape of the modern world. The lesson aims to awaken believers to the reality that worldly wisdom and technological progress cannot save humanity, but only God’s wisdom through Christ leads to true redemption and victory over the powers of darkness. Synopsis: In The Awakening, Pastor Marcos presents a call to discern the hand of God in the progression of human history and the present spiritual climate. He begins with Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians, showing how God confounds human wisdom by unveiling His plan in ways that surpass intellect and science. The twentieth century is described as a turning point—marked by war, innovation, and technological advancement—that aligns with the prophetic increase in knowledge foretold in Daniel. Pastor Marcos connects these world events with the breaking of the seals in Revelation. The first seal loosed the spirit of antichrist, already influencing the world though not yet fully revealed. The second seal, tied to World War II, unleashed global conflict and unprecedented technological progress. The third seal, he argues, is unfolding now, bringing forth a new world order centered on economic control and paving the way for a one-world government. These events, ultimately orchestrated by God’s timing, expose humanity’s attempt to run the earth apart from Him under the deception of Satan. The lesson emphasizes that just as the Word of God became flesh to impart divine wisdom, Satan seeks to rule through the antichrist as his human agent. Yet, Christ will ultimately defeat him with the breath of His mouth and the brightness of His coming. Pastor Marcos stresses that this understanding constitutes the true spiritual awakening: recognizing that worldly knowledge enslaves when divorced from God, while the knowledge of Christ liberates and saves. He closes with an urgent appeal—humanity must awaken to the truth of God’s Word and trust in His wisdom, not in man’s intellectual pride or technological advances. The time is short, and the decisive battle is already underway. Written teaching: 1 Corinthians 1:19 “For it is written: ‘I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.’” The twentieth century witnessed the unleashing of man’s ingenuity in such a remarkable way that life as it existed for thousands of years was radically changed forever. I could say, and not be too far off, that in the twentieth century, we, speaking of the human race, became of age. I have neither the desire nor the abilities to enumerate all the history, discoveries, and events that came together to make the twentieth century such a pivotal time in human history; from the industrial revolution to two world wars, to the splitting of the atom, and the space race that lead us into the technological age of cyber space, but I know that in all of this, God’s final plan for the human race was being intelligently crafted by divinity in accordance with what the prophets of old had foretold. Daniel 12:4 “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” Nothing happens on the earth unless it is first released from heaven. It does not matter how wise and learned men of old were, or how dedicated to their crafts, or how many resources they had available to them, if it was sealed in heaven, all of their human endeavors did not suffice. After Jesus rose from the dead and was taken up to heaven, He took possession of a scroll that contained written things within and on the back, that had been sealed with seven seals. Revelation 5:3 “And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it.” It seems that only an immortal human of divine origin, one who could save and make other humans immortal like Himself, was qualified to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals, since its unveiling unleashes upon the human race the symphony of events that eventually propels God’s final judgments upon all human mortals. The first seal was loosed right after Jesus took possession of the scroll after arriving in heaven, it released the spirit of antichrist upon the world stage. The antichrist himself will not be revealed until that which hinders him from being revealed is removed. 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 “For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work (the spirit of antichrist has already been released); only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one (the antichrist in person) will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.” The second seal was loosed from heaven during the twentieth century and that is what brought about the second world war and the technological breakthroughs that ensued. Revelation 6:3-4 “When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, ‘Come and see.’ Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth (world war II), and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword (technology).” You can probably trace the origin of many, if not most, of the technological advancements of today to the events leading to and surrounding the second world war, for that is when the unveiling of the second seal took place, according to the divine plan. If we tie the first two seals together, we get the antichrist type leading the world into a colossal war that increases human knowledge to levels not even dreamed of by the preceding generation. Revelation 6:5-6 “When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, ‘Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, ‘A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.’” The results of the first two seals opened the door for a new world order, something that has been the unreachable dream of the elite world luminaries for centuries, but with this open door their dreams of a revived roman empire that rules the world has become a very possible reality. In order to facilitate a one world government, they need to have a one world economy, and to achieve that they need to implement a one world financial system that regulates the world economy; according to the golden rule, he who has the gold, makes the rules. Revelation 13:17 “And that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” We are in the midst of the unveiling of the third seal right now, it is taking place before our very eyes. All the pieces are falling rapidly into place awaiting the unveiling of the fourth seal that will feature a war over one fourth of the earth, the invasion of Israel by a northern confederacy. Israel is the last obstacle that stands between them, those who think they own the earth, and their dreams of declaring earth’s independence from the rule of God. It is all spiritual, since Satan was thrown out of heaven he has been looking for a place to call home; the earth belongs to the Lord, but man has been given dominion over it, the devil has duped, through the spirit of pride, those who think they can run the earth better than God, through the agency of human intelligence, for they truly think that they know better than God how to run the earth. 1 Corinthians 1:30 “But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption.” All the spirits know that if you are going to rule the world you have to do it through the agency of a human man, that is why the Word of God had to become flesh, in order to infuse into humanity’s mind the wisdom that comes from God, the wisdom that redeems, sets apart for God, and makes right with God those who choose allegiance with God. Revelation 13:2 “...The dragon gave him (a human being, the antichrist) his power, his throne, and great authority.” The spiritual battle that rages now in the heavens will be fought here on the earth by the human Son of God who is indwelled by the Spirit of the living God against the spirit of Satan, the dragon, that will one day be revealed in the human antichrist. It will be a one sided battle: Whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. This is the truth that brings the awakening, and it is what the first chapter of first Corinthians is all about, whose wisdom are you going to trust? 1 Corinthians 1:20 “Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?” How did God make foolishness out of the wisdom of this world? He told them ahead of time what was going to happen, when it was going to happen, and how it was going to happen. Nothing happened without His hand allowing it to happen first. These empty headed illustrators really think that they’ve actually thought of all these things and that they have created by the power of their own intellectual prowler. 1 Corinthians 1:21 “For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.” Imagine the simplicity of the message that was preached confounded the wisdom of the wise and brings to us an awakening to the revelation of what God is doing in our present time. 1 Corinthians 1:25-26 “Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.” And here is the reason why God does it this way. 1 Corinthians 1:29 “That no flesh should glory in His presence.” I believe that we are now ready to experience the great spiritual awakening that the prophets of old predicted for the last days. Humanity has been sold a bill of goods that predicted that man’s salvation was going to come as the result of technological advances. Knowledge is power, in God’s case, knowledge of Him and of His Word brings liberty to those who live and practice His Word. Knowledge of the populace in the hands of the world gives the world the power to enslave the masses. Everything about us today is known to the government, and that knowledge has been used already to deprive many Americans of their constitutional rights. But the majority of that knowledge awaits for the restraining power to be removed, as prophesied by Paul, so that it can be used to coerce, intimidate, and blackmail law abiding citizens into conformance with their new world order. If you did not believe in the past that what had been foretold by the Word of God was possible, do you believe it now? Are you awake yet? Better hurry, there is not much time left. Previous Next

  • THE KEEPER | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)

< Back THE KEEPER Pastor Marcos Marrero Objective: The objective of The Keeper is to teach believers the biblical responsibility of tending and keeping the spiritual gardens of their lives. It emphasizes the dual call to serve God faithfully while protecting the blessings He has entrusted to us from demonic interference, through vigilance, spiritual warfare, and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Synopsis: In The Keeper, Pastor Marcos Marrero draws from Genesis 2:15 to explain God’s original commission to Adam—to “tend and keep” the Garden of Eden—as a model for every believer’s spiritual responsibility. The Hebrew word shamar reveals the role of a watchman, one who guards, protects, and keeps intruders from robbing what has been entrusted by God. The lesson unfolds in three key principles. First, tending speaks to serving God and working out one’s salvation, which is necessary for producing spiritual fruit. Second, keeping requires vigilance against the enemy, who seeks to steal blessings and disrupt the fruitfulness of believers. Spiritual warfare, therefore, is not optional but essential, as Christians must guard against principalities and powers rather than merely flesh and blood adversaries. Pastor Marrero stresses the personal responsibility of each believer to maintain their own “garden”—their life, household, and spiritual inheritance—without depending solely on church leaders. Using examples like Joshua and Caleb, he highlights that personal faithfulness can secure blessings even when others fall away. Protection of one’s garden requires discernment, testing spirits, and daily equipping with the armor of God, which forms the shape of the cross and provides complete covering in Christ. Ultimately, the message calls believers to live crucified with Christ, surrendering selfish ambitions and walking in His life, which produces lasting fruit. By doing so, all that is consecrated to God remains untouchable by the enemy. The Keeper reminds Christians that Jesus, the Great Shepherd, never fails His people, and through Him, believers can guard, tend, and preserve the spiritual inheritance entrusted to them. Written teaching: Genesis 2:15 “Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.” Keep: Shamar, in the original Hebrew text, and it means, To hedge about as with thorns (barb wire), to guard, to protect, as a watchman lying in wait for the enemy to try to come in and ambush him. Adam was commissioned by God to tend and to keep the garden of Eden. To Tend means to work by serving. Adam was to work while serving in the garden, and at the same time he was to keep it safe, by protecting the garden that he had been given dominion over—from demonic intruders, since there were at that time, no other humans besides Adam and Eve. We see two principles here that deal with our abilities to produce spiritual fruit from God: First, we need to work out our own salvation by serving God in order to produce spiritual fruit, since spiritual fruit does not happen by itself. Philippians 2:12-13 “Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do (to tend and to keep) for His good pleasure.” We are to seek after the things of God which are spiritual in order to produce spiritual fruit. Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Secondly, we need to watch out for thieves whose aim is to rob us of the blessings that come as a result of our serving the Living God with a true heart. Proverbs 27:18 “Whoever keeps (protects and/or tends) the fig tree will eat its fruit; so he who waits on his master will be honored.” Sadly, too many Christians who serve God faithfully, do not get to partake of the spiritual fruit that their true labor of love produces, because they are not aware of the thief who is robbing them blind. 1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” If the devil did not have the ability to deprive us of our spiritual blessings, we would not be commanded to be sober and be vigilant. I believe that the reason so many Christians are swindled by the devil out of their spiritual blessings, is because so many churches do not embrace the teachings of the ministry of deliverance, which is all about spiritual warfare and keeping watch: to guard, to protect, as a watchman laying in wait for the enemy to try to come in and ambush him. Matthew 24:43 “But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.” From the days of the garden of Eden, humans have let down their guard by failing to keep their garden safe and allowed the enemy to rob them of the fruits of their labor. Zechariah 13:7 “‘Awake, O sword, against My Shepherd, against the Man who is My Companion,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘Strike the Shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered; then I will turn My hand against the little ones.’” Behind Zechariah’s Messianic prophecy we see the spiritual principle that the enemy uses to steal our spiritual blessings from us. While the prophecy applies to Jesus dying on the cross and the scattering of His disciples, the principle works the same; if the devil can get to the shepherds of the church he can also scatter the sheep and turn his hand against them. Spiritual warfare is not a Christian accessory, it is a vital part of everyday Christianity. We are not guarding against flesh and blood enemies; we are protecting against principalities and powers. Ephesians 6:12 “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” In the face of the fact that not too many Christians are taught about spiritual warfare in their local churches—since way too many shepherds have been intimidated by the enemy—we are going to deal with the personal aspect of tending and keeping our own gardens. The number one, and must important thing that we need to know is that we have a personal—a one and one relationship with Jesus, and no natural family, or church family, or a shepherd who is the leader of the church of which we are members, is ever to come between us and our personal relationship that we have with Jesus, and our responsibility to tend and to keep watch over our own personal gardens. Matthew 10:37 “He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.” This ensures that if the shepherd fails in his responsibility to properly keep his congregation safe—if he fails to tend it properly—these church members are still guarded and protected by the Great Shepherd under whose wing they have taken refuge. That is why we take the Word of God to church with us, because our covenant is with the Word who became flesh and died for us, and not with mere mortal men. Where other men will fail us, Jesus is the Man that will never fail us. The second thing then, is that we are personally responsible to tend and to keep safe our own garden. What is our own garden? Joshua 24:15 “...But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua and Caleb were part of the twelve spies, ten of which gave a bad report and caused the rest of the people to turn back from their inheritance. Although Joshua and Caleb gave a good report, it was not accepted because of the fear that the report of the other ten spies brought into the camp. Although the possessing of their inheritance was delayed by forty years due to the false report of the other ten leaders, Joshua and Caleb entered into their inheritance because of their faith, while none of the others did, for they all died in the desert. While they were still part of the whole, they were able to keep the enemy from stealing what was their personal inheritance. Acts 16:31 “So they said, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.’” Our own garden is that which belongs to us in accordance with God’s promises, and it is our own personal responsibility to guard it and to keep it safe no matter what. If a church leader is pressured into compromising the promises given to the body of Christ—they do so at their own risk—we do not have to compromise our own personal promises, we can take a stand like Joshua and Caleb did. The third thing is, How do we guard our own personal garden? 1 John 4:1 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” Keep in mind that it is spiritual fruit that we are trying to guard. Also that our real enemies are spirits masking behind flesh and blood. Ephesians 6:13-17 “Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” If one draws a picture of a human body standing at attention, with both arms completely extended horizontally to the sides, it forms a cross. Now if we draw a line from the helmet of salvation through the breastplate of righteousness, on through the belt of truth where it ties with the buckle, and unto the feet which are shod with the gospel of peace. Then draw a separate line from the right hand which is holding the sword of the Spirit, to the left hand which is holding the shield of faith, the cross is complete. Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” The goal of spiritual fruit is self-control; the enemy of self-control is selfish-ambitions. Death to our self-life for the sake of Christ’s life always produces spiritual fruit, for such fruit emanates from the Anointed One Himself who dwells within those of us who believe in Him. But most importantly, those who die to themselves for the sake of living Christ’s life, clothe themselves with an impenetrable armor that not only protects them, but that also protects all that belongs to them. Matthew 6:19-20 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.” In spiritual warfare all that we surrender to Jesus is kept safe, for we may not always be able to keep the enemy with all his cunning out of our garden. But if all that is within our garden is marked with the sign of the cross, the devil cannot touch it; for it is holy to the Lord and consecrated to God and for the glory of His only begotten Son, the Anointed One. 1 Chronicles 16:22 “Saying, ‘Do not touch My anointed ones, and do My prophets no harm.’” Let us not forget that the armor of God is also the armor of light which completely covers us with His anointing. Romans 13:12, 14 “The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness (selfish ambitions), and let us put on the armor of light...But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.” Previous Next

  • THE LAW OF CHRIST | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)

< Back THE LAW OF CHRIST Pastor Marcos Marrero Objective: The objective of this teaching is to explore the meaning and application of the “Law of Christ” as revealed in Scripture, showing how it differs from and fulfills the Law of Moses. Pastor Marcos seeks to explain the spiritual principles behind God’s laws, their purpose in revealing His nature, and how Christ’s work introduces higher laws—such as the Law of the Spirit of Life, the Law of Faith, and the Law of Liberty—culminating in the command to bear one another’s burdens and walk in Christlike love. Synopsis: In The Law of Christ, Pastor Marcos Marrero examines the biblical concept of law not merely as rules and regulations, but as spiritual principles instituted by God for human understanding and transformation. Beginning with the Law of Moses, Pastor Marcos explains that its purpose was to reveal God’s holiness compared to man’s fallen condition, while also showing His mercy, patience, and compassion. He then contrasts the Law of Sin and Death with the Law of the Spirit of Life, emphasizing that Jesus, through His death and resurrection, bridged the gap between God’s holiness and man’s carnality. By fulfilling the Law perfectly, Christ introduced freedom from condemnation and offered new life to all who believe. This naturally leads to the Law of Faith, by which believers are justified apart from works, clothed in God’s grace, and delivered from shame. From there, Pastor Marcos highlights the Law of Liberty, which empowers Christians to boldly live and proclaim the Gospel. Ultimately, all these laws converge in the Law of Christ, summed up in Galatians 6:2: “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” This law calls believers to embody Christ’s love by living selflessly, supporting one another, and walking in the freedom and faith secured by His sacrifice. Written teaching: Galatians 6:2 “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” When we think about a law our minds immediately turn to the rules and regulations that somehow apply, you know, the do’s and don’ts. But we need to understand that when the Bible refers to a law in most instances it is speaking about spiritual principles, for the law is spiritual. Romans 7:14 “For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin.” In the natural, if we really want to understand why a law exists, and if we want to know if a law is a good law, we need to look into the spirit of the law, in other words, find out why the law was instituted to begin with. Why do we have stop signs? It is obvious that if two drivers reach an intersection at the same time, and from different directions, and neither one of them slows down, you know people are going to get hurt. So that the spirit of the law behind a stop sign is to protect the drivers and those who might be around a busy intersection at any given time. If we really want to understand biblical principles, all we need to do is to look at the regulations that govern such laws or principles, for they are there for a good reason. In this lesson we are going to take a look at a few of the different laws or principles that we find in the Bible, and we are going to look at the reasons why God instituted them, in the hope that the better that we understand them, the easier it will be for us to submit to them. Let us begin with The Law of Moses. Why is it called the Law of Moses? John 1:17 “For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” Since God’s laws were given through Moses first, many times when the Bible mentions the law, it is usually speaking of the commandments that God gave us through Moses. You will also hear it mentioned about the law and the prophets, and that generally speaks about the laws that came through Moses and through the prophets of the Old Testament as one and the same law. Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.” What is the spirit behind the law of Moses? Deuteronomy 28:58 “If you do not carefully observe all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear (learn to respect) this glorious and awesome name, THE LORD YOUR GOD.” The law was given to men so that we could understand the very nature of God as we compare it to our own nature. And as we do that, we find that God is holy, and that we are not. We find that God is spiritual, and that we are carnal. We see that God is perfect, and that we are flawed. Jonah 4:2 “...For I know that You are a gracious and merciful God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, One who relents from doing harm.” Our God is also a loving, gracious, and merciful God, as a rebellious Jonah clearly testified as he quoted from the Law of Moses. We are always in need of God’s love, in need of His grace, and of His mercy. We need Him to be patient with us, and slow to anger as He deals with our stubborn nature. The spirit behind the law of Moses reveals that God is perfect and that we are not, but it shows that God is also loving and compassionate, the two things that we are always in need of, which bring us to the principles that drive our next two laws. The Law of Sin and Death, and The Law of the Spirit of Life. Romans 8:2 “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.” In the Law and the Prophets, we see the duality of the problem clearly revealed. God is Spirit, and since we are not spiritual, for we are carnal creatures, there is a great divide between us and God. That needs to be bridged before we can be accepted by God, for the Law requires that we change by becoming spiritual. But how can we become spiritual when we are carnal by nature? The Word of God Who is spiritual had to become carnal or flesh like us in human form, in order to fulfill all the righteous or spiritual requirements of the Law as a human. Since the Law can kill only those who fail it, for it is written in the Law: The soul that sins shall surely die, and since Jesus died, but not for His sins, for He had none, for He is perfect and fulfilled all the Law, so that it was the sins of others that He died for on the cross. But here is the fact that the Law cannot violate the rights of a righteous man. So that if the Law was ever to kill a righteous man it would have to give Him back His life, since the Law is perfect, and it cannot condemn an innocent man. But since Jesus, a righteous man died, atonement was made for sins, and since it was not for His own sins that He died, since He had none, then we must ask the question, whose sins did He atone for on His death on the cross? 1 Corinthians 15:45 “And so it is written, ‘The first man Adam became a living being.’ The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.” Hence the Law of the Spirit of Life was introduced to release all the descendants of the first Adam from the Law of Sin and Death that we all had inherited through Adam’s fall, and at the same time to make us spiritual and acceptable to God through the Law of the Sprit of Life to all who freely accept the pardon that has been offered to all Adam’s descendants who are willing to believe, which brings us to our next law. The Law of Faith. Romans 3:27-28 “Where is the boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.” The work that Jesus completed on the cross for us accomplished two things: First, it fulfilled the Law of God as revealed through Moses and the Prophets, as Jesus told us, I did not come to destroy (the Law) but to fulfill (it). What that means is that Jesus fulfilled, as a human, all the requirements of righteousness that the law demanded from all humans. Secondly, it demonstrated God’s true love for us as revealed in the Law, that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us and removed us from the Law of Sin and Death that we were under by placing us under the Law of the Spirit of Life. But through The Law of the Sprit of Life another law is revealed, The Law of Faith, and the only requirements that we have under this law of faith is that we believe that we have been delivered from Adam’s fall by the atoning work of Jesus on the cross, for this is the law that trumps the sin that caused Adam to fall in the first place. Genesis 3:11 “...Who told you that you were naked?” Spiritually speaking, fruit is the product of what we believe deep within us. In other words, the nature of the fruit that we produce. I am talking about our conduct of course, for it reveals which doctrine we believe. When we are told that Adam took of the fruit that originated from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and ate it, it means that he believed what he was told. That is why God asked him the question, who told you that you were naked? The root of Adam’s sin was that when God created him, God said of him that he was good, even though he was naked, and God did not associate any shame with Adam being naked. When the serpent revealed to Adam the condition of his nakedness and associated it with shame, Adam believed the words of the serpent over what God had said...that was his sin. When Jesus hung on the cross naked, He took all the shame that every human had ever experienced or will ever experience, and He nailed it there for all to see. Adam might had been naked in the natural, but he wasn’t uncovered, for the God that created him, loved him and accepted him as he was, and it was the covering of God’s Word that clothed him, for when God looked at him in his naked condition God declared him good, and it is the Word of God that sets the standards, not the devil nor the world. And so it is for us who believe today as well, we are still naked in the sense that we still dwell in these mortal bodies, and we still have to contend with the devil who accuses us day and night continuously reminding us of our nakedness. But our covering comes through The Law of Faith, for in it we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law. So that what changes is our testimony, we are not naked and we do not walk in shame, for our nakedness has been covered by the grace of Almighty God and nailed to the cross along with its shame. Romans 10:8-10 “But what does it say? The word (the fruit) is near you, in your mouth and in your heart (that is, the word [law] of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (through The Law of the Sprit of Life), you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Since in Jesus we are covered under The Law of the Spirit of Life, and since our only requirement is that we abide by The Law of Faith, that is to believe in the promises of God and to declare our allegiance to them faithfully, that brings us then into another law. The Law of Liberty. James 1:25 “But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.” James 2:12 “So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty.” Therefore we live under the covering of The law of the Sprit of Life, empowered by The Law of Faith, which in turn has placed us under The Law of Liberty that frees us to boldly proclaim the Gospel without any shame or trepidation. So that now we are free to fulfill The Law of Christ! Galatians 6:2 “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Previous Next
