WHY DID YOU DOUBT? To reveal how doubt enters the believer’s life through fear and divided focus, and to teach how faith without doubt is restored through humility, submission to God, and trust in His Word. This teaching aims to help believers recognize the spiritual consequences of doubt, understand its connection to double-mindedness, and learn how to return to joy, stability, and mountain-moving faith by drawing near to the Lord. < Back WHY DID YOU DOUBT? Minister Lisa Kane February 10, 2026 Objective: To reveal how doubt enters the believer’s life through fear and divided focus, and to teach how faith without doubt is restored through humility, submission to God, and trust in His Word. This teaching aims to help believers recognize the spiritual consequences of doubt, understand its connection to double-mindedness, and learn how to return to joy, stability, and mountain-moving faith by drawing near to the Lord. Synopsis: In Why Did You Doubt?, Minister Lisa Kane examines the moment Peter stepped out of the boat in faith and then began to sink—not because Jesus failed him, but because fear redirected his focus. Though Peter was walking in obedience, doubt entered when he looked at the boisterous wind instead of keeping his eyes on Jesus. Jesus’ question, “Why did you doubt?” exposes a truth believers still face today: doubt does not negate faith, but it interrupts it. This teaching connects Peter’s experience with James’ warning that doubt makes a person unstable, tossed like waves by the sea. Doubt is shown not merely as uncertainty, but as a spiritual condition that steals joy, silences praise, and produces inward conflict. While God gives humanity the ability to question and choose belief, doubting the Word of God becomes a hindrance when it replaces trust. Minister Kane emphasizes that overcoming doubt begins with humility. Drawing from James 4, believers are called to submit to God, resist the enemy, cleanse their hearts, and draw near to the Lord. Doubt often leads to mourning and heaviness, but as faith is restored, joy and rejoicing return—just as Psalm 126 promises. The teaching also confronts the tension many believers feel: wanting to believe fully while remembering past disappointments. Even when faith feels imperfect, the Word assures that God’s promises will stand. Mountains will fall—whether now or in God’s appointed time—because His Word never fails. Rather than hiding doubt, believers are encouraged to bring it honestly before the Lord and ask Him for help. This message concludes with a prayerful call to walk in faith without doubt, trusting that God is fully in control. Through humility, repentance, and surrender, believers can move from instability to confidence, from fear to joy, and from doubt to unwavering faith in Christ. Inspired Teaching: Matthew 14:25-33 25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. 27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, [c]“Be of good cheer! [d]It is I; do not be afraid.” 28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” 29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw [e]that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” 31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. 33 Then those who were in the boat [f]came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.” James 1:6-8 NKJV 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. Well, this is interesting. Peter, when walking on the water toward Jesus doubted because he saw that the wind was boisterous and he became afraid. Then James tells us that doubts are like waves of sea driven and tossed by the wind…in essence calling that person a double-minded person who is unstable in all his ways. Here’s the definition of doubt from dictionary.com: As a verb: to be uncertain about; consider questionable or unlikely; hesitate to believe. As a noun: a feeling of uncertainty about the truth, reality, or nature of something. God gave us the ability to question things and to choose whether to believe or not, which is good. Sometimes, though, we doubt or don’t believe something the Word of God tells us and that becomes a hindrance against us. But this also means that God gave us the ability to overcome doubt. James 4:7-10 NKJV 7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. It starts with humbling ourselves before the Lord and He will lift us up. Whenever we have issues of faith in which we doubt, we need to go before the Lord and put Him first through humility and then give it to Him. He will take care of it. Back to James 4:9, because you doubt, you mourn and weep and laughter and joy becomes gloom. Have you ever wondered about why you don’t feel like praising or laughing or having fun? Maybe you’re doubting something that the Lord is showing you. Get before the Lord and humble yourself. Put Him first and ask Him to help with your doubt or lack of faith, and/or lack of belief. Psalm 126:6 NKJV 6 He who continually goes [a]forth weeping, Bearing [b]seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again [c]with rejoicing, Bringing his sheaves with him. Once you don’t doubt, rejoicing comes back. Matthew 21:21 NKJV 21 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done. Wow. If I don’t doubt…you should hear the thoughts going through my mind right now. I want to believe. I don’t want to doubt and yet, I’ve tried this before and nothing happened. But you know what, I believe that it will happen because of prophecy over the mountains that is coming. The mountains will fall… Ezekial 38:20 NKJV 20 so that the fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, the beasts of the field, all creeping things that creep on the earth, and all men who are on the face of the earth shall shake at My presence. The mountains shall be thrown down, the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.’ There’s a day that’s coming when those mountains will fall. So, even if I go and cast down a mountain and throw it to the sea today, I know it will happen in the future because I doubt. I can’t picture myself having no doubt in this situation and that’s unfortunate. So, I humble myself before the Lord and ask Him to help me so that I can have faith without doubt to move mountains. Romans 14:23 NKJV 23 But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is [j]sin. Dear Jesus, help me walk in faith and to not doubt. I walk to walk in Your joy and know that You have everything in control. In Jesus’ Name Amen! Previous Next Home

  • PRAY FOR HOLLYWOOD | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)

Say this prayer out loud: Mighty Heavenly Father, I lift up the entertainment industry, the music industry, and Hollywood to Your throne room and I forgive them of their iniquities, the sins they have committed, the curses against them, the curses spoken from them, and the sins of the land they walk on; and I ask You heavenly Father to forgive as them well per Matthew 6:14 KJV “14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:” Demons, loose the entertainment, music industry, and Hollywood: the Lord rebuke you per Jude 1:9 “9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.” I bind you with fetters of iron to the iron below my feet here on earth preventing you from interfering in the entertainment, music industry and Hollywood ever again per Matthew 16:19 KJV “19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” And per Psalm 149:6-9 KJV “6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; 7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; 8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; 9 To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord.” Father God, I bless the entertainment, music industry and Hollywood with open ears, eyes, hearts, and minds to see, hear, receive, and believe the living Word of God because you state in Mark 4:12 KJV “12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.” I pray in hope that they see and perceive, hear and understand so they would believe in Jesus the Son of the living God! And Heavenly Father, I bless the entertainment, music industry and Hollywood with softened hearts to be able to perceive and live by Your Word because even you showed the disciples how hard their hearts were when they didn’t believe when You rose from the dead: Mark 16:14 KJV “14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.” I also bless the entertainment, music industry and Hollywood with a spirit of reconciliation because that is the ministry You have given us. Let the spirit of God move forth in the hearts of the people working in the entertainment industry, the music industry, and Hollywood to forgive and reconcile the nation back to Jesus, the Son of God as Paul states in 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 KJV “18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” I pray that the entertainment, music industry and Hollywood are restored into the joy of salvation, and to the paths of righteousness as the following scriptures state: Psalm 23:3 KJV “He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.” Psalm 51:12 KJV “Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.” I pray that the fruit of the spirit stated in Galatians 5:22-23 KJV “22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” manifests within the hearts of the entertainment industry and Hollywood. We take back the entertainment, music industry and Hollywood declaring godliness and righteousness to be portrayed through this medium; that they bring the Bible to life showing the world a true visible representation of the Bible in love. I pray that the gifts of the holy spirit stated in 1 Corinthians 12:7-12 KJV “7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. 12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.” would unite the body of Christ under one leadership, the Holy Spirit and that the Spirit of God moves through each of us so that we know what to pray, how to pray, when to pray, and praise the living God in all that we do. And gracious Heavenly Father, we praise You as Psalm 150:1-6 KJV says “150 Praise ye the Lord. DO YOU KNOW HIS LOVE The purpose of this teaching is to help believers grasp the depth of God’s love revealed through Christ’s sacrifice, understanding redemption as both a legal and spiritual restoration. By exploring Scripture, the message aims to show how Jesus’ blood fulfilled the law, paid the ransom for sin, and restored believers as children of God, leading to transformation of the heart, mind, and spirit. DO YOU KNOW HIS LOVE Minister Lisa Kane September 12, 2024 Objective: The purpose of this teaching is to help believers grasp the depth of God’s love revealed through Christ’s sacrifice, understanding redemption as both a legal and spiritual restoration. By exploring Scripture, the message aims to show how Jesus’ blood fulfilled the law, paid the ransom for sin, and restored believers as children of God, leading to transformation of the heart, mind, and spirit. Synopsis: In Do You Know His Love, Lisa Kane opens with Luke 23:46, reflecting on Jesus commending His spirit into the Father’s hands as the ultimate act of trust and love. The teaching examines redemption through passages in Psalms, Galatians, Titus, 1 Peter, and Romans, showing that Christ’s sacrifice was foretold, fulfilled, and remains the central act of God’s covenant love. The message highlights redemption as a ransom paid to release humanity from the dominion of sin, death, and the curse of the law. Through the imagery of Jubilee, Lisa explains how Jesus restored believers to their rightful inheritance as children and heirs of God. The teaching emphasizes that salvation is a gift—not earned by works—but received through confession and faith in Christ. Listeners are urged to let God’s love penetrate deeply, transforming their emotions, thoughts, and actions, producing zeal for good works and a testimony of His power. Lisa stresses the importance of speaking faith, confessing Christ openly, and remembering the cross as the supreme demonstration of divine love. The message closes with an invitation to salvation through the sinner’s prayer, calling all to embrace Christ’s redeeming love and to live watchfully in expectation of His return. Inspired Teaching - Written and/or Transcribed from Video Above: Hello and welcome to the House of Faith Ministries. I'm Lisa Kain and I'm recording this message on Thursday, September 12th, 2024. Welcome. Let's open up in a word of prayer. Father God, we lift you up and we bless your word. We bless you and we thank you for your word. Move me aside. Let your Holy Spirit do the talking here, Father God, and show us the love that you have demonstrated for us. Thank you, Father God. and let that love penetrate and let it transform us. So much so that as we walk in your word, everyone who sees us will know that it is your love that is the power behind everything that is happening in the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Amen. Amen. God bless you. Welcome. I'm grateful that you are here. I hope that you are blessed by this content. Share it with anyone you like. Uh this is uh good teaching. Good teaching. So I hope you en enjoy it. Let's go to our opening scripture here. This message is called Do You Know His Love. And our opening scripture here is in Luke 23:46. And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, "Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit." And having said thus, he gave up the ghost. So, just to kind of reiterate a little bit of how I teach, what you're seeing here is the bolded words are the uh the original words that were used in the translation from the original to the King James in the English. And so that word could have other meanings. They could have used other words in that place. So what I do is when I bold the word in the screen that means that's the word in the Bible King James version but the ones after in the parentheses are other meanings of the word. So example here for father into thy hands I command I place alongside I present I deposit my spirit. In other words he's depositing his spirit into the hands of God. And having said thus he gave up the ghost or expired. So that's how I teach. That's how I present the scriptures to you and everything is done through the King James version. Now that's our opening scripture. So what I want to do is I want to share with you um an interesting teaching uh talking about the love of God. I'm asking you do you know his love? purpose I have for this teaching is I hope that by understanding through knowledge and what Christ did for us that it would change you by his love that the change the transformation would be emotional spiritual maybe even cause you on the inside to just break um I've been through that and I know that when you get this it penetrates deep into the heart where your thoughts and your feelings are and It transforms you. I am hoping beyond all hope that you grasp this and get it. Now remember, it's not by might nor by power. It is by his spirit. So I've been praying and asking the spirit to work through you, the listener, for this teaching. Okay? So be ready, be prepared, and listen to what the word of God is telling us today. Amen. So let's go to Psalm 49:15. But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave. For he shall receive me. Saha. Now let's add those extra words in because I really want you to get this. But God will redeem or sever ransom, release, preserve my soul from the power or the hand and dominion of the grave which is Hades or the world of the dead. For he shall receive or take me. Sila sa not sure exactly how to pronounce sa and they don't really know what the word sa means but a lot of theologians take that as to pause and think on this but what I want you to see what the psalmist is saying here is redemption means to pay the ransom for whatever is being held captive in this case the world is what's been held by been held captive by the grave and death but by Jesus giving up his blood and life on the cross. He paid that ransom. And the psalmist in the Old Testament, thousand so years before Jesus went to the cross, he's talking about the redeemer because the redeemer has been prophesied to do this and Jesus did it. Let's go to Psalm 103:4. Who redeemth thy life from destruction? Who crowneth thee with loving kindness and tender mercies? Now let's read it with the extra words. Who redeemth? Look at this word next to kin by back thy life from destruction or the pit corruption grave. Who crowneth which means encircle compass thee with loving kindness. Favor and tender mercies compassion. Oh this is so good. So here I want you to notice something. Redeemer. Redeemth here means it has another flavor to it. Next of kin. You see what Jesus is doing when he redeems us. He's following the process Israel follows through the process of Jubilee. If you go look at Leviticus 20 and it's about verses 8 through13, you're going to find that the Jubilee is a year of rest and it happens every 50th year. And it's a not only a year of rest. So they do not eat their crops because it's already been provided. Everything was doubly provided in the 49th year. So that double portion comes out in the 49th year so that you can rest in the 50th year. But what happens is every slave, every person who had sold themselves in that 50th year is given back to the original owners. The land that was sold any time in that time frame was given back to the original owner. Jesus is paying this price as if a 50th year of Jubilee, giving us back the authority that we had with Adam and Eve before Adam and Eve disobeyed God and fell. So when this word here says next of kin, remember we are a child of God. We are joint hes with Christ. So this puts us back into eternity with Christ, not the grave, not death. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is life. And if you go follow that, you will see that through repentance, because of the redemption of what Jesus did, we have eternity with Christ and not death, not a dying at hell. And I love how he used the word crown there, that that word crown is placed on our heads, but it encompasses us with his favor and compassion. That's absolutely amazing. You have got to see what Christ did in this moment on the cross. He died that we might be saved. Let's go read Galatians 3:13-14. Christ hath redeemed by a ransom rescue us from the curse of the law being made a curse for us. For it is written, cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree. That the blessing which is a fine speaking elegance of language of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ. that we might receive the promise, which is an announcement, a pledge of the spirit through faith or persuasion, moral conviction. So, what's happening here is you're seeing that Paul is reiterating what the psalmist said in in both Psalm 49:15 and Psalm 103:4. He's stating that Christ took the curse and paid it in full, buying us back from the law and placing us back into the promises or these announcements given to Abraham that we are joint hes in. So remember when he said next of kin, he is restoring us back to the state that Adam and Eve had before they fell, which is giving us the authority now to overcome. Because see, he didn't remove the law and he didn't um take away the law. You have to understand what the Lord did here. See, God is a God of rightness, justice. He established the law. So Jesus had to fulfill the law because none of us could do it. The law told us that we were sinners and we couldn't fulfill it. So, you had to have Christ do what he did because that was what God called for and he did it. But he has to leave it until he completes his entire plan that he has for us in this world. You can go look at that in Daniel 9:24. He's going to abolish sin. He's going to take care of all of this. But because we are in a justice system, we have to wait out the court system of what he's doing. Now, I want you to also notice something that Paul is uh saying here might be saved. It's a choice. You can receive this spirit, which is the spirit of Christ through faith by believing. And it is by this faith that we can know that our salvation is secure in Christ. But you can also walk away. That's incredible. So Christ not only did this to save the world, but he also did it knowing that some would not believe, some would not accept. And he still did it so that the rest of us who want to believe can get it. Oh, how precious, precious this is. This is so powerful. Let's go to Galatians now 4:es 4-6. But when the fullness or completion of the time was come, God sent forth or he sent him on a mission. He dispatched his son made of a woman made under the law to redeem, buy up, ransom us them that were under that law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the spirit of his son into your hearts, which is where the thoughts or feelings are crying, "Aba, father." Oh, I hope you are getting this. What he has done, God purposely sent his son as a man born of a woman to pay the ransom and fulfilled that law that we couldn't do. You know, Satan deceived Adam and Eve and then ever since they fell, we've been born under this curse generation after generation. But it is by this law that we were held captive because we were accused of our sins by the devil in the court system. He accused us. But Jesus, part of his plan was to set the captives free. So he freed us those that choose to believe in Christ and and when you choose because you're choosing based off of knowledge. Yes, the Holy Spirit is moving through you, but he's planting this knowledge in your mind, in your heart, your thoughts, and your feelings. And he's telling you, "This is right." And you're sitting there listening to it going, "Yeah, that is right. I could tell it's right." And then you choose to believe. Now with that knowledge when we choose to believe our hearts are at a point where now we start expressing the thoughts and the feelings of what Christ did. And at that moment that's when we realize the impact of his love for us. He went to that cross. He wore a crown of thorns. He bled from the top of his head all the way to the bottom of his feet. The blood went on that cross on that piece of wood. That was a curse. Blood went on that. It traveled down because he had so much blood. When they pierced him inside that water and blood flowed. When that water went down that cross, it hit the ground. It shook the ground. And if you believe what Ron Wyatt said, he found the ark of the covenant right under that spot. The blood landed on the mercy seat, fulfilling the law that God established. That's love. Oh, I hope you're getting it. Because see, this is where we can know that we are free. We're no longer obligated to live under that law. We are free to live Christlike. We are free to live in the gift of God's life and what he did to us. Let's go look at Titus 2:14. Who gave himself for us that he might, here's that word might, redeem, ransom us from all iniquity. Look at what this word iniquity means. Illegality and purify unto himself a peculiar which were being beyond usual people zealous of good works. Oh, so what is that saying? The word iniquity means illegality. And that's what we're charged with is the iniquities of our sin. And that is where it's now we're realizing we are illegally here until we have a redemption or a redeemer or a pardon for our sins. It's like we're illegally here on this earth until we receive Christ. So this is the justice system that God has established and he works with. It means his son paid that ransom for anything we've done illegally against God. That redemption is what sets us free. That freedom causes our hearts and thoughts and feelings to change, transform. We become zealous for the goodness of things because we want to do good works. And it starts with Christ understanding what he did at the cross. That's the power of the cross. and what he did to our hearts and those good works follow. That's what we manifest once we get it. We manifest the good works because we're understanding. We have that knowledge of the love that he did for us. And we don't want to belittle it. We don't want to take it for granted. We don't want to treat it vain. This is precious that we can't be blas about it. We got to be zealous for the goodness of him. And when we do those good things, we show the world because we're sharing a testimony that God is the one who changed us on the inside. And that's where the power is. This is where the true power of God resides. It's within us because we got it. And so eventually people will get it and they'll be like, "Wow, Jesus did that for me. He did it for the whole world." Yes, but he did it for me. When you get it, oh, it's incredible. Let's go to First Peter. We're going to be in chapter 1 18- 21. For as much as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, and corruptable things are things that decay. They're perishable like or as silver and gold from your vain empty conversation received by tradition from your fathers. See, when your fathers teach you how to do things, they they tell you do it this way, do it that way. But if you don't have the love from Christ in there to do it is vain. It's empty. You can go read 1 Corinthians 13 on that verse uh 19. but with the precious which is valuable blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. who verily has fore ordained to know before him before the foundation or the conception of the world, but was manifest rendered apparent in these last times for you who by him do believe have faith in God that raised him up from the dead and gave him glory that your faith which is your persuasion, credence and hope, your expectation might be in God. Let's talk about that for a moment. Let's see what Peter's saying. Peter is establishing the value of God's love here. He's telling us that it isn't corruptible things that saves us. It's the blood of Jesus that paid the ransom. So many people want to do good things. They want to show God how worthy they are by their works. The thing is is it's a gift from God himself. He dispatched. He sent his son forth and said, "Go save them." And Jesus said, "I got you. I'm going to do this." And he went, "It's a gift. You don't have to do anything but believe." And yet, we want to go do works. I want to see how many people I can serve food to. I want to see how many services I can go to in a week. I want to see how much I can pray and be that better prayer and so on and so forth. And yet, it has nothing to do with that. Your salvation is of the Lord and it is a free gift. So we need to remember what the blood and the power of the cross of what Jesus did. This is why we take holy communion. This is one way to show that we remember Jesus on the cross because remember he commanded us this do in remembrance of me. Another way to acknowledge his love for us which is more important than anything else is that we shouldn't do things that are vain or empty that mean nothing. Don't take it for granted, but do those good things. And it it's something you want to do because you're portraying Christ through your actions. Your actions are being your testimony, fulfillment of the love of Christ in our hearts, but you're doing it without attitude, without complaint. You're doing it because you want to and you desire it. And you know, you're doing it for God. And this is the manifestation and the testifimmony that you're testifying through the knowledge that God designed this redemption long before the conception of the world. You are acting it out with a beautiful love and heart because that's what God does. He transforms us. And he made it, by the way, he made this apparent by prophesying it long ago through the psalmist and the prophets for us to know, to know his redemption and have this knowledge manifested in us to be the example that others can look to and be saved today. Because that's exactly what happened here. That the psalmist knew there was a redeemer, but he didn't know his name. He just knew God the father. Which remember what Jesus says, if you know me, you know the father. So that means if you knew the father, you knew Jesus. So the Old Testament had it just like the New Testament. And they can walk in that belief. They can walk in that faith. And they knew. And so God had separated those that died back then. You went to a place called paradise if you were a believer in God. And when Jesus was crucified on the cross, he descended and kicked out the gates of hell. And he grabbed those out of paradise. And by the way, on his way up, he stopped to talk to Mary Magdalene. You can go read this, and I just taught on this a few times now. But he stops with all those souls behind him, billions, and he he says to Mary Magdalene, "My God, your God, my father, your father, because Jesus restored us as the next of kin in the right standing with Christ, joint hes. We are brothers and sisters with Christ." Now, that's the power of what Jesus did on the cross. That's the love. Understand the word love in in the English language doesn't do it justice. It doesn't uh demonstrate the type of love that God is doing here. closest thing we have in our language is probably the the love of a mother to a child because um that mother she knows the child is so fragile she's holding the child in her hands who is fragile that child cannot do anything of its own she is morally obligated to take care of that child Jesus was morally obligated to come to our salvation to save us. And he did it. He did it. And he saved us. Now, I want you to see something here that's so powerful. Look at Romans 10:13. For whosoever, that is all whole. Everyone shall call upon, they're entitled. They can invoke the name, the authority of the Lord shall be saved, delivered, healed, preserved. That is what we have. We anyone who confesses who has who calls invokes on God, save me Jesus. I'm telling you, and if they're not doing it in vain, they're doing it in with the intention of God, I need you to save me. Whether they're calling on God the Father or Jesus the Son of God, either way, anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. You saw that happen here. In fact, it goes a little deeper. Let's see it in Romans 10. uh verses 9 and 10. We're going to go back a little bit in this this chapter says that if you if thou shalt confess or acknowledge with thy mouth your language the Lord who is supreme in authority Jesus and shalt believe you have faith in your heart the thoughts and the feelings because see it starts with knowledge thoughts and feelings that's where it starts so you're you're hearing you're feeling the thoughts and feelings that God raised awakened him from the dead, thou shalt be saved, delivered, protected, healed, preserved. Look what it says. For with the heart, that's your hearts and feelings. That's your thoughts and feelings. Man believeth unto righteousness, which is justification. You are just with your thoughts and feelings. You can have, you have the right to be just because you know that you called on the name of Jesus. And you know that when you did it, you had to have faith because you can't see that you're calling on him. I mean, you can't see him. He's not there. So, you're calling on him in faith, which is what activates God. This is so that manifests it. That pulls the thoughts and feelings. But look what else it says. And with the mouth, confession is made into salvation. So when you speak it, because everything is spoken by our mouths, this is what affects us. This is what takes us to that next level is when you speak scripture into your situation. When you speak the name of Jesus and you're calling on him whether you say anything or not, your thoughts, your hearts, your feeling is right there, it is manifesting inside of you through the anointing of the Holy Spirit. That is the Holy Spirit moving through you through his love of what he did on the cross. Even if you don't grasp it at that moment, that's what he did. So, we are saved by confession of our mouths, speaking out loud what Christ did to us because we're speaking to all the witnesses around us. Who's around us? God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, angels, demons, and the like. They're watching us. There are witnesses. So whether you have anybody else around you, whether you're in the bathroom, in the toilet, and you call on God, and no one else is around you, God is your witness. Oh, I hope you're getting that. And with that confession, that means you're using your language of faith, and you're manifesting salvation, healing, deliverance, and preservation within yourselves. And others can do this, too. Anyone can do this. Anyone could call upon the name of the Lord. And see, you don't have to just do it for salvation of eternal life. That's for even an immediate situation. If you walk into the bank and a bank robbery takes place, the name of Jesus has the authority there. He will save you, preserve you, heal you, deliver you of anything. Like I said, bank robbery, you're dealing with, you're you're worried about your soul or spirit on the inside, the just call on the name of Jesus. He saves you. That's what he did. Let's go look at the basics of what he did here in John 3 15-17. That whosoever believeth in him should not perish. Look at the word perish. It means destroy fully, lose, die, but have eternal or perpetual life. For God so loved, there's that word love. See, it's social, moral, sense, obligation. He was obligated. He loved the world. He obligated. He He kept his obligation to the world cuz you know what? God could have stopped everything long ago when Adam and Eve messed up. He could have said, "We're done. He almost did it with the flood, but he saw Noah. He saw something there." Maybe he was looking at the future from that moment. He saw Lisa, me, praising him, thanking him for saving me. Maybe he did the same for you. What a thought to think of. and to have in your heart to know that this is what he did because of his love. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes or has faith in him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God sent not his son into the world to condemn, decide, or punish the world, but that the world through him might be saved. There's that word saved. Save, deliver, protect, heal, preserve, and might because it is a choice. It is a choice. This is what we have based on what God did. This is what love is. The laying down of one's life to save another. Christ demonstrated that love. And we should not take it for rain or granted or empty. We should let that love fill our hearts, our thoughts, and our feelings. let it manifest us emotionally in him so that we're getting it. Because that is where the Holy Spirit does the most work because once the hardenness of your heart, your stiff neckness if you will, is broken, the Holy Spirit's in there and he's got you and he's going to continue to work in you and change you, transform you. And this helps us remember the power of the cross of what Jesus did. That Holy Spirit moving in us, transforming us. we remember and we know it. So even though we have down times or slow times or we're not in the word for a moment or two, Jesus is always there. The Holy Spirit is always there. This is how much God loves us. And I hope you get it because when you get it, you should be an emotional wreck. But you know that you're saved by his actions. Catch his love and his salvation now. Don't wait. We don't know when he will return. And he is returning. We need to be ready and watchful for his return. And there is no better time now than to get saved. Amen. Let's say the sinner's prayer together. I'm going to say it. I'll pause and allow you to speak it and let's close in this sinner's prayer. Amen. Dear Jesus, we ask you to come into our hearts where our thoughts and feelings are. And we ask you to forgive us of our sin, of our iniquity, of our illegal status. And we ask you to be our Lord and Savior and to help us be saved, delivered, healed, and preserved in anything we face. Thank you. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Amen. Amen. God bless you. I hope you are blessed. Share this message with others who need to hear and need to know what God love God's love is. And I will see you in the next message. Bye-bye. Home Previous Next

The Kingdom of the First Born Pastor Marcos Marrero October 10, 2023 The Kingdom of the First Born Objective: The objective of The Kingdom of the Firstborn is to provide believers with a deeper understanding of Jesus Christ as the eternal Firstborn over all creation and Firstborn from the dead. Pastor Marcos aims to reveal the mysteries of creation, light and darkness, and the nature of time through the lens of Scripture, guiding readers to comprehend their identity as children of God. The book seeks to strengthen faith, equip Christians to walk in the Kingdom of Light, and inspire them to embrace their eternal inheritance in Christ, who has called them out of darkness into His marvelous light. Synopsis: The Kingdom of the Firstborn by Pastor Marcos Marrero is a theological exploration of the mystery of creation, time, and divine purpose as revealed through Scripture. The book examines what it means for Jesus to be the Firstborn over all creation (Colossians 1:15) and the Firstborn from the dead, presenting Him as the eternal Word of God who entered time and space to establish a new order. Pastor Marcos contrasts Infinity Time (God’s eternal, unchanging realm) with Eternity Time (the created universe, bound by beginnings and endings). Through this lens, he unpacks the mystery of light and darkness, the process of creation, and humanity’s role as beings made in God’s image. He explores how God’s light, divided into measurable and infinite forms, not only brought creation into existence but also serves as a spectrum of spiritual meaning—blood, fire, gifts, life, spirit, covering, and humility. The narrative emphasizes that believers are not of this world but have been called into the Kingdom of God, the Kingdom of the Firstborn. This kingdom is populated by those who are reborn through the Spirit, purified through trials, and destined to share eternity with Christ. Pastor Marcos presents human history and the cosmos as a temporary stage in God’s eternal plan, culminating in a new heaven and new earth where righteousness dwells. Ultimately, The Kingdom of the Firstborn portrays God’s radical act of love—bringing something entirely new into His unchanging eternity—so that redeemed humanity might share in His light, life, and eternal fellowship. Sample first pages of the Book/Manual: INTRODUCTION Colossians 1:15-18 “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.” (Bold added by me for emphasis and applies to the rest of this book unless otherwise noted.) The concept of “the firstborn” when applied to Jesus can be kind of troublesome in the minds of some believers, especially as we consider the fact that Jesus is God Eternal who has always been, for He is without beginning and without end, and shall forever be! Malachi 3:6 “For I am the LORD, I change not.” KJV “The firstborn over all creation” Just what do the Scriptures mean when they refer to Jesus as being the firstborn over all creation? We can make the argument as I do in my book “Man’s Final Destiny” that “The Word of God” is the second person of the Godhead: 1 John 5:7 “For there are three that bear witness in heaven: The Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.” And that through Him: “The Word of God” all things were created, since God Spoke everything into existence by saying “Let there be…! John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:3 “All things were made through Him (the Word), and without Him nothing was made that was made.” (Anything in parenthesis and italicized is added by me unless otherwise noted.) The Eternal Word of God did not become flesh until He entered into the body that was prepared for Him some two thousand years ago, namely the body Jesus; who was conceived in the womb of the Virgin Mary by the Holy Spirit. The Word entered the physical body of Jesus and at that precise moment The Word of God became flesh. John 1:14 “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” Paul continues and tells us that Jesus, the Word of God is He is before all things. However, Paul appears to be making this statement directly about Jesus, the Word incarnate. For in verse 13 of the same chapter he writes: Conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.” And in other Scriptures as well, some quoted in the letter to the Hebrews; it seems to be making the same point of a beginning or a starting point for the Son at a very specific point in time. Hebrews 1:5-6 “For to which of the angels did He ever say: ‘You are My Son, today I have begotten You’? And again: ‘I will be to Him a Father, and He shall be to Me a Son’? But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says: ‘Let all the angels of God worship Him.’” “The beginning, the firstborn from the dead” Meanwhile this phrase seems to imply that its beginning should be applied only to the time immediately after the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. Obviously, there is more to these Scriptures than meets the eye. Was there a transformative event that took place with the works of creation that God somehow used to represent Himself into a form or manner into the likes of which He had never revealed Himself? In other words, did the God that does not change, transform Himself into something new, something that had never existed before? In this writing I intend to shed light on the mysteries hidden within the history of creation as presented in the Bible. Hopefully to expound on the premises on which God has founded His works: like… Did the God that never change really transform Himself into something new? Did He create us into His new image and why? What is the mystery of light and darkness? What about the time before time began? What is the future of the physical elements that forms everything that is tangible? And are we able to comprehend the vastness and complexities espoused to the creation? Matthew 13:11 “…Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven…” It will be folly for me, or for anyone else for that matter, to think that we would be able to understand all mysteries concerning such complex matters as to the why, where, when and the how’s of God’s creative works, but clearly we have been given an agent that is just as much God as the Father is and as the Son is, He is the Holy Spirit, and His ministry is to teach us all truth as it concerns the kingdom of the Son of His love: The Firstborn of the Father.   IN THE BEGINNING GOD STARTS A NEW TIMELINE Genesis 1:2 “The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep.” As God begins the work of creation the first question that we need to ask is this: What does the Scripture mean by “the earth”? The Hebrew word “Strong’s concordance # {776} År,a, — 'erets” means “to be firm”, which seems to imply in the text that says that it had no form or substance that the earth was not earth (physical) yet, for as yet light had not entered into it. Which brings us into the very simple yet powerful concept of the time before time began. If we can grasp this concept it will be so much easier for us to understand the Bible, because it is a foundational concept upon which so much Scripture is invested. Our present time did not begin until light—energy—was introduced, even science confirms that our present time started with a flash of light, what they commonly refer to as the big bang, which set in motion (according to them) our present time and space traveling outwards from a fixed starting point. What that means is that before our present time began, all physical, and by physical, I mean tangible matter did not exist, for it did not have form, and was void of substance. If it existed, it did so in some kind of invisible substance called “nothing” and if it existed it did so within a different time frame called: The Deep. Hebrews 11:3 “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.” Why is the understanding of time before the creation and time after the creation so important? 2 Corinthians 4:18 “While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” We cannot fully understand the mysteries of the creation until we understand the principle of the time before time began. Let me give you an example, everything in our present day “time and space” has a beginning and has an ending, everything within it is decaying and dying. Hebrews 1:10-12 “…You, LORD, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. They will perish, but You remain; and they will all grow old like a garment; like a cloak You will fold them up, and they will be changed. But You are the same, and Your years will not fail.” Here we see clearly that time exists in two very different planes: our physical creation which includes its interactions with the heavens and they are deteriorating and passing away; but God remains the same, years (time) have no effect upon Him for He is not a product or part of the creation, nor is He bound by the entropic laws that govern our present day “time and space”. If God is not bound by our present time and space, then what time does He live in and what space does He occupy? Psalm 147:5 “Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite.” Let me introduce these two words: Infinity and Eternity. I will use these words to separate time as we know it now, from the time that existed before our present time began. I will define my biblical understanding of infinity as time without beginning or ending, as time that cannot be measure, for it has neither substance nor variations of any shape or form. It has always existed and will always continue to exist for infinity. Liken it to a never ending flowing river of flooding lights that emanates from an inexhaustible deep. James 1:17-18 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.” Infinity Time as I call it is the dwelling place of the Eternal Godhead. God is infinite so He dwells in infinity. Within Him there are no variations or shadow of turning. He lives in a time frame that has neither variations nor turnings. Nothing within that realm can ever be measured, as a matter of fact, most humans can’t even get a handle on the premise of something that has no beginning or ending, or of a place where past, present and future coexist in perfect harmony. Revelation 22:13 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” The best way for me to get a hold of the Biblical concept of Infinity Time is by contrasting it to the creation which is our present time. Let’s compare our present creation to the alphabet. If you take the alphabet from A to Z, just think how many things have been written just by combining the few letters contained within the alphabet, its potential is so vast that it can never be exhausted. Yet, the alphabet itself can be contained within one single sheet of paper that keeps deteriorating the longer time passes. So it is with creation that there are an endless world of possibilities and potentials, but nevertheless contained within a fixed order of time and space that is destined to decay and to destruction. All creation is headed for a magnanimously unavoidable end that will transform it into something totally new. • INTO THE LIGHT | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)

INTO THE LIGHT Equip believers to recognize and choose the wisdom and light that come from God over the counterfeit “light” of human reasoning, so they can fully receive the inheritance they’ve been qualified for in Christ (Col. 1:12), tear down inner strongholds, and walk in freedom, holiness, and blessing. < Back INTO THE LIGHT Pastor Marcos Marrero June 8, 2007 Objective: Equip believers to recognize and choose the wisdom and light that come from God over the counterfeit “light” of human reasoning, so they can fully receive the inheritance they’ve been qualified for in Christ (Col. 1:12), tear down inner strongholds, and walk in freedom, holiness, and blessing. Synopsis: This message—In the Light—lays out a biblical principle: all of life runs on principles, and spiritually there are only two sources of “light” (guidance): from above (God’s wisdom) and from below (earth-bound, sense-driven, demonic wisdom). Drawing from Colossians 1:12–13 and James 1:17; 3:15–17, the teaching explains that salvation qualifies us for God’s gifts, but we possess them by walking in God’s light—His revealed wisdom—not by natural understanding. 1 John 1:5–7 clarifies that God is light; fellowship with Him requires walking in that light, where the cleansing power of Jesus’ blood is applied and faith flourishes. Jesus models this life (Isa. 11:2–3; Matt. 3:16): anointed by the Spirit, He doesn’t judge by sight or hearing, but by the Lord’s counsel and knowledge. Jesus’ warnings about the eye as the lamp (Matt. 6:23; Luke 11:35–36) press the danger of mistaking darkness for light—living by feelings, appearances, and cultural “common sense.” Proverbs 14:12 underlines that what seems right to us ends in death. A case study in spiritual warfare (2 Kings 3) shows how partial obedience and hidden allegiances to false “light” sabotage victory. Israel, Judah, and Edom receive a prophetic strategy (dig ditches; God supplies water; pursue and utterly ruin the enemy’s strength). They comply—except they refuse to tear down the sun-baked stones of Kir-Hareseth (“wall/city of the sun”), a symbol of entrenched idolatry. When the Moabite king sacrifices his son on that wall, terror rises and God’s people retreat. The lesson: leaving any stronghold (a protected area of natural reasoning, superstition, unforgiveness, pride, or religious tradition) gives the enemy leverage and perpetuates curse-cycles and loss. Practically, the message calls believers to let the Spirit shine on the root, not just the symptoms, of recurring sins or bondages—then, in faith, pull down the wall completely: forgive, repent, renounce, reconcile, obey the specific word of the Lord. As we walk in the light, the anointing breaks the yoke, and the qualified inheritance (cleansing, healing, provision, peace, joy) is experienced. The service closes with prayer for revelation, courage to dismantle strongholds, and ministry in the anointing that brings healing, deliverance, and restoration. Inspired Teaching: Hallelujah. Gloria Elbe Jesus B. Amen. Precious Father in heaven, as we come before you tonight, we worship your precious and holy name. We thank you, Father God, for the privilege to come together as brothers and sisters in in the Lord and come as one, Father God, in the unity of the spirit to worship the one God, the one true savior, even Jesus Christ, our savior and lord. We ask, Father God, that you open that fountain, dear Lord Jesus, that you pour on us the bread that came down from heaven, which is Jesus, who became flesh for us. We uh need your word, Father God. We need that fountain of life in our midst, Father God. For we live in a dried and thirsty land, dear Lord Jesus. And we desire tonight to be filled with the bread that comes down from heaven to be washed and to drink of the water of the springs of life, Father God. And we thank you for your anointing here tonight and your favor, dear Lord Jesus. I ask that you bless each and every person that is here uh tonight and that you make us all a house of faith. Father God, we are your house, Jesus. You're the head and we're your body. We're your temple. And we pray, Father God, that life will come in into each and every one of us here tonight, Father God, that we may glorify your house, Father God, in Jesus name. Amen. Amen. Praise God. Hallelujah. Everybody's got the notes there that would help you. I have a lot a lot of scriptures and we don't want to be here all night. So, but I want to make sure the the first page is going to deal with me uh revealing from the point of view of the Bible a principle. Uh we have to understand that everything operates through principles. uh there are physical laws or principle and there are spiritual principles understanding especially spiritual principles are vital uh uh for us to to be able to walk to receive the blessings. Now the message as you can see I title is in the light and that comes from the scripture Colossians chapter 1 verse 12. All of the scriptures that we're going to go through I have them there. Uh I think they're all uh from the New King James Version. Um, and only one we're going to go that um that you don't have down there. So, if you want to save time, you can check them later. But in Colossians 1:12, Paul writes, "Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light." Now, we all know what qualifying means. Uh, I used to ball in in in in tournaments and uh, the only one that I ever won was here in the Cobalt here in Wington a long time ago. Uh, some of you probably remember where the Cobalt used to be. But the way it was is hundreds of people will sign up for the tournament and all of the bowling lanes will be there and then you bowl all day long. That would happen on on uh on Saturday and out of the and you could enter as many time as you wanted to. If you didn't do good the first time, you would pay another $18 and and go again. And then what they would do at the end of the night after the last uh thing, they will pick up 32 people, the 32 highest scores qualified to go for the grand prize. Then next day, which was a Sunday, the 32 people bowl against each other. And then the top five, they qualified to go for the grand prize, which at the time was $500. And then those five bowlers used to do like they do in TV. The guy that finished fifth would bowl the fourth. The winner will bowl the third. I was top seated. That's I mean I bowl a lot and that was a freak of nature I guess. But qualification doesn't guarantee that you get the prize. It means that you are in the running for the prize. That's in other words, if I did not qualify on Saturday, I could go there Sunday. I couldn't bowl no matter how much money I brought. The only people that would bowl on the next day is the people that qualify. And then when those 32 people bowl, only the top five qualify to go for the grand prize. So notice that it says here and and I gave you that illustration so we get the meaning of it. Giving thanks to the father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints. We have been qualified but that doesn't mean we received that yet. This is what we need to understand. There was an effort. I even though I was topseated. I already had the second prize in my pocket which was $225. Meaning I could lose and I would come in second. I had the$ 225. But if I wanted to take the grand prize, the trophy and and my picture on the paper and all of that stuff, uh, you have to win that last game. Now, notice that it says here that he has qualified us. And what got my attention is that it says in the light. I mean, what does it mean? What does it mean to be qualified in the light? And so, that's the principle that I wanted before we get to the message. The message is on the second page. So I had to explain the principle that's all on the first page. Now look at James 1:17. It says, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the father of lights." That's where our qualification is in the light. In the light there's good and there are perfect gift. When we're in the light, we receive the gift. The gift is the grand prize, the first place. You're already qualified. We're already qualified. You show up and guess what? Your name is in the roster. You're already qualified to get the gift, but you got to get in the light in order to get the gift. That what he says there. You haven't been qualified to receive the inheritance of the saints in the light. And then he says that every good and every perfect gift is from above and comes on from the father of light. Now if you look to the next couple of chapters in James 3 1516 and 17 we get a little revelation as to what the light is. He says, "This wisdom does not descend from above, but it is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above," now notice that he says, "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the heavenly lights." He said, "But the wisdom that is prone above is first of all pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy." So we see that light is being equated with wisdom. Light is being equated with wisdom. And it says that there are two different types of wisdom or two different types of lights. There's a light that come from above from the father of the heavenly light. That means there's an understanding that comes from above from the father of heavenly light. And in that understanding there are gift. We already been qualified just the fact that we have accepted Jesus. We're already qualified to receive him. But we need the revelation. We need the understanding. We need the wisdom on how to receive this gift. And there is another wisdom. And he says that this wisdom is not from God or another revelation or another light. He says this wisdom does not descend from above but is earthly. That means it's physical not spiritual. Is sensual. That means that it's governed by the senses. Is what you can touch, what you can hear, what you can see, what you can smell, what you can taste. It's part of the physical realm. That's where the senses operate from. And then it says and is demonic, meaning Satan is in it. So that means that there are two ways to do things. one is going by our own wisdom by by what makes sense or you know what God told me I'm going to get that job and so I'm going to go by natural means to get this gift that I need. He says that when you go that route through the senses that Satan is in it. Demonic means that there's contaminated verses is other wisdom or revelation that comes from above. So basically what the principle is is that there are two kinds of wisdom. The one comes from God and one from from the world. There's two ways of doing thing. One is by the revelation of God and one is by the revelation of man. Okay. And in the light, whichever light we're in, will determine what gift we're going to inherit. Because if the light that we follow is the light of this world, Satan is in it. And if Satan is in it, Satan does not come except to what? To steal and to kill and to destroy. But it is the wisdom of God or the life that comes from above. Then there's life and there's abundant life. Now, let's look at some more scriptures that that prove this point. Going back to Colossians where we read in in 1:12 where it says, "Giving thanks to the father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saint and the light." In verse 13, he says, "He God has delivered us from the power of darkness and convey us into the kingdom of the son of his love." Now notice what this other wisdom is referred to power of darkness. It says that we were in under the influence of the power of darkness before we were qualified before we were brought into the kingdom of the son of his love. We were under the power of this darkness. Now what is that darkness? doing things in the way that seems right to your eyes. Let's look at that. Look at the uh the only scripture that is not there is in First John. Uh when I was praying this morning, the Lord just brought it to me, so I didn't get a chance to put it. I had already made everything. go to first John and look at uh chapter 1 and then we're going to read verse 5, 6, and 7. 1 John 1:es 5, 6, and 7. He says, "This is the message which we have heard from him, from God, and declared to you." John was just taken up to heaven. He wrote the book of revelation by the being taken up to heaven was told to write everything he saw. Many believe that first, second, and third John these three letters he wrote after he went to heaven and that the gospel of John he wrote after he came from heaven because he was taken up to heaven and he saw things from a different perspective. That's why Matthew, Mark, and Luke all make sense. They're called synoptic because those three gospels are all interrelated. John's does not have nothing to do with them. It's separate. He was taken up into this heavenly realm and he saw that this letter was written and look what he says. Now remember, we just read in James where it says that um uh uh uh every good and perfect gift comes down from above from the father of lights. Right? Now look what John who was up there where the light is says. He says this is the message that we have heard from him and declared to you. What is that message? God is light. God is light and in him there is no darkness at all. Now look at verse six. If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in darkness, we lie and we do not practice the truth. Verse seven, but if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his sons cleanses us from all sin. Now, God cannot walk in darkness because there's no darkness in God. But we can walk in darkness because we were part of the kingdom of darkness before we came into the kingdom of the son of his love, the kingdom of light. So we do have a choice. Even though we're born again believers, even though we have been qualified to receive all of these gifts in the light, when we walk in darkness, we do not receive the gift. If I went over there and I bowled 10 gders in a row, I would never have gotten the prize. I was bowling against a guy that was a lot better than me. The guy had like a 220, 220 average. I got like a 160 average. But in the tournament, they use your handicap. So with my handicap, I started like with 25 points ahead of him. But man, I threw three uh six strikes in a row and that just blew him out of the water. Man, I cannot catch up with a six rackon plus a 30 some panhandah handicap. So I still had to troll even though I was qualified. I still had to do something to do it. And he's saying here you got to walk in the light. You were part of the kingdom of darkness, but now you're into the kingdom of the son of his love and you have been qualified to receive all of these gifts. What is the greatest gift? Look at verse seven. What is the greatest gift? And the blood of Jesus Christ his son cleanses us from all sin. Did you know that sin is what keeps us from the blessings? Sin is what brings sicknesses. Sin is what brings poverty. Sin is what brings uh h uh you know lack of joy, lack of peace. Sin is is something that always condemning, something that always brings us down, right? Well, that is the greatest gift. We're walking in the light. Revelation from above. We recognize that our sin has all been forgiven, has been dealt with. And now we open ourselves to the joy of man, God loves me, and he wants to bless me. He wants to prosper me. He wants to heal me. He wants to set me free. And hallelujah, I begin to walk in that light. And as I walk in that light, in the wisdom and the revelation of God, the doors begin to open for me. Because without faith it's impossible to please God. And they that come to God must believe that he is. And we cannot come to God unless our sins are washed away. So this is the message we heard from the start. God is light and in him there is no darkness at all. So we need to walk in the light. Now this light it is talking about spiritual revelation. But God uses a natural setting for us to understand. If you're in a place and all of the lights go out and it's the middle of the night, all of the sudden all your senses betray you. Because if he just gets turned around a little bit, you won't know which way the wall is, which way the door is. Have you ever been I went into the uh the drainage down in there by by the LA River and we walk in there. That's a long time ago. And you get to a place where it gets so dark you cannot see your hand in your face. We have some flashlights and we turn them off completely. And I mean you can get totally and completely dis disoriented immediately. So the idea is that in the darkness we cannot see. We cannot find our way around. We will stumble. We will fall. So we need light to be able to see. So that's the same way in the spirit. If we're going to walk this walk with the Lord, we have to walk in the light, meaning in the revelation of the Holy Spirit. Now, look at look at the next scripture in Matthew 6:23. And this is in your uh in your note. Jesus speaking and he's using this natural principle and he says, "But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness." And then he says, "If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness?" Jesus is saying, just like in the natural, you need your eyes to be able to receive what the light reveals. In the same way, if you are guided by the wrong light, because he calls light darkness. There's a light. See, we're talking about wisdom. We're talking about revelation. We're talking about understanding. Spiritual understanding that means the revelation that the Holy Spirit gives us is light that comes from above and brings the blessings. But the light of the natural senses the way that we perceive this world is darkness because is demonic. Satan is in it and Satan is a liar. Satan is a cheater. Satan is false. Everything that he does is a trap. So if we walk under the light of the natural understanding, we fall into a trap. We fall into a trap because that is Satan's domain, the human understanding. That's why Jesus says, "How great is that darkness?" Now in Proverbs 14:12 and it appears also in Proverbs chapter 16 says there is a way that seems right to a man but his end is the way of death. So, so what he's talking about here, and I put it there on the notes, under the spiritual or the heavenly light, under the revelation of God, there are good and perfect gifts and gift graces that empower us that lead us to abundant life. In other words, if I have spiritual understanding, if I have spiritual revelation, if I understand the spiritual principles that are in the word in the word in the word of God and I follow them since I've been qualified by the fact that I am saved, then all of these gifts that God has prepared for me, I will find them because they are revealed to me. This blessing is now revealed to me. It's just like somebody turns the light on and then all of a sudden I see I am thirsty but it's dark and I don't know where the water is at. I don't know if the bottle that I found if it's totally dark, whether it's polluted or I don't know what it is. But when the light switch is turned on, the understanding the spiritual revelation of God I see was good. I see was bad. You see when I'm walking by the revelation but this revelation doesn't come by the human senses. See the human senses are contaminated by the devil because this physical world has been contaminated by the world. So in Proverbs two different chapters he tells us there is a way that seems right to a man. How do you see it? With your eyes. Oh, you know what? if I do this, if I do this, and there's so many people that are fooled all the time, the natural principles of this world, you follow them. If you want to be prosperous, you follow them. And you know, we're living in a nation to where we have the one of the highest wealth. And I'm not talking about just the rich people, but the middle class. Tremendous wealth. I mean, you can see just go by the marina, you'll see boats and boats. Go by the mountains, you see houses upon house. There's so much wealth in this nation. But yet, billions and billions of dollars are spent every year on drugs. I think by 20 years, every American will be on in in in in in prescription drugs. That's why they're putting a a drug house in I mean a drug store in every corner. This is the fastest growing industry there is. Everybody is getting ready. But why? Because that is where the natural understanding leads you. See the real things that have value in life are joy, peace, security, uh you know having a mind that it is sound. God has not given us a spirit of fear but of love and of power and of a sound mind. And that comes through spiritual understanding not natural understanding. And so we have to understand the spiritual principle that we're dealing with today has to do with light which means revelation, wisdom, understanding, knowledge. And that there are two types of it. There's a natural one, the one that we can make our own sense out of it with our own natural understanding or with the world's understanding. Or there is the the light or revelation that come from God that most of the time does not make sense. God's way do not make sense to the natural mind. I mean, one day I was a sinner and on my way to hell. I stumbled into this church. I accepted the Lord. I came out and now I'm in heaven for eternity. I mean, I'm I'm all my sins are washed away. I'm set free. I couldn't understand. For 29 years, I tried. I was a Catholic and I tried I had prayed every night. I tried to deal with the burden of sin and nothing could take it out. Then one night without me understanding anything about it. I just said yes when the preacher asked for for hands for salvation and I was changed. I was changed. I walked out of that place. I could have walked on water. It doesn't make sense to the natural mind. I look in the mirrors and I look the same but it feels so different. You see, and now he could not take my salvation away. So now he's trying to take my ability to walk in the light. For he can turn me back into the ways of the natural men, then I disqualify myself even though I've been qualified already. Because the only way we can receive the graces or the gift of God are when we walk in the light. If we don't walk in the revelation that comes from above, we forfeit everything. Now under the natural or the physical light or understanding all roads lead to destruction. Now how did Jesus handle it when he was here on earth in Isaiah 11:es 2 and three. It tells us Isaiah is probably writing 800 years before Jesus came. And it says talking about the root of Jesse who would come in the Messiah. It says, "The spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord." Speaking about Jesus prophetically almost a thousand years before Jesus died on the cross. His delight, Jesus's delight is in the fear of the Lord. And look what it says about Jesus. And he shall not judge by the side of his eye, nor decide by the hearing of his ears. You see, when Jesus was baptized, the spirit of the Lord God came down from heaven in the form of a dove and lighted upon him. And they use that word, we're going to go to it. United means he lit him up, open his understanding to the spiritual realm and therefore he did not judge according to what his eyes saw or to what his ear heard. You know what Jesus's eyes saw? He saw Judah Judah as a thief and as a traitor. He knew it. He was sitting there on the table after he washed their feet and he says, "Okay, Judas, you got to do what you're supposed to do now." Jesus knew it. The disciples later found out that Judas used to help himself to the money on the treasury. Jesus knew it. But you see, he wasn't looking with the natural eyes. When he looked at Judas, he didn't see a traitor. When he saw Peter, he didn't see somebody who will betray him either. when he sees you, he doesn't see somebody that's going to fail him a million times. You see, he doesn't make judgment by what he sees with his natural eyes or by what he hears with his natural ears. He makes judgment according to the wisdom and understanding. As a matter of fact, that there makes a perfect manora. The spirit of the Lord, it says wisdom and understanding, the fear of the Lord, the power, the knowledge, all of the things make a perfect manora. What is a manora? A candle light. This is the only article that is inside of the holy place that gives light that gives revelation. Jesus became a walking manora. The spirit of the lord came upon him. The understanding of the lord it says there that the uh the spirit of the lord came in. That's a center lamb. Wisdom is one branch. Understanding is the other one. Uh counsel is one uh branch. Might is the other one. Knowledge is one. the fear of the Lord of the elephant. He became enlightened by the spirit that came upon him and now he is able to look at the woman who committed adultery when everybody's judging her and he can say to her, "Where are those that condemn you?" Oh, I don't know. They all took off. Well, neither do I condemn you. Go away. Sin no more. You see, the only way that we can receive this revelation from God is when we don't look by what the eyes see. Did you know that you can tell people something, but your feelings can betray you? How many married people we have here? Oh, honey, I didn't mean that. Your eyes betray you. Yes, you did. You see, our body speaks. Our action speaks louder than words and are known. But you see, the only way that you can walk in that light, the revelation is when the spirit of God is upon you. That is the revelation. That is the light. That is a wisdom that come from above. Now look at how this light came upon Jesus. Matthew 3:16. When he Jesus had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water. And behold, the heavens were open to him, and he saw the spirit of God descending like a dove and a lighting upon him. Now, why do I say that? Because you and I when we were born again, the Holy Spirit came down and descended upon us and a light on us. Did you know that that's what qualifies us? It is that that qualifies. Now I did get baptized. We got baptized at the YMCA in San Pedro and I had a beautiful experience coming out of the water because reinforced but that's not when the spirit came. When I came out of the water, that's when I made a public confession. But the spirit came deny that I was born again. When I confessed my sins and accepted Jesus Christ as my savior and lord, there was an alike, an understanding that came upon me that I wasn't going to hell anymore. Oh man, it felt good. All my sins were forgiven. I am cleansed. And I could I felt like I could walk on water. That revelation cannot come through manmade works. You can repent all you want to. You can do all kinds of natural things. They do not bring peace. They do not bring understanding. They're of the earth. They're of the natural. They go by what you see. Oh, I'm doing good. I read my Bible three days in a row and I haven't said a bad word and I haven't lit up. And so you feel in the natural doing okay. And then all it takes is one little trip. Okay. And now you go again. Now your emotions go all the way. See, that is a natural understanding. That is a natural light. But when we walk in the light, the light is that Jesus loves me. The light is that Jesus died for me. The light is that Jesus saved me. And the light is that Jesus is going to bring me there no matter what takes him between here and there. He said, "I will never leave you. I will never forsake you." His blood will never ever lose his power. And as long as I walk in that understanding and that light, neither my peace nor my joy will ever be removed. There is nothing that Satan can do to take away that assurance of salvation, that peace, that knowledge of his love. That is what it's talking about. Now look at the next scripture. Luke 11:35 and 36. Therefore, this is Jesus speaking and it's related to the uh instance I think that um after being baptized he said therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness. He says make sure this is a command take heed that the lie which is in you is not darkness. In other words, make sure that the lie that is in you is not human reasoning that comes out of a human understanding. Then he says, if then your whole body is full of light, this is a light that come from heaven above having no part dark. That means that there are some parts of us that could be in darkness. The whole body will be full of light as when the bright shining of a lamp gives you light. Talking about the minora when you lit up a huge candle. He says that's what it's going to be like. So then the spiritual principle that I spend this whole page before I bring the message which is going to start right now has to deal with the principle of light and darkness or spiritual revelation or natural revelation. And why is this so important is because our whole world system is founded in the false light. This is why you send your kids to college and when they come out their faith has been destroyed because all of those professor have one aim and one aim in mind and that is to destroy the word of God to destroy the faith of all of those who have placed their trust in the living God. So then uh now what I want to do is I want to bring it to the ancient the people of let's say uh the time of King David about 3,000 years ago. Why was it that the ancient people worshiped the sun? Because the sun is the natural replacement to what God is in the spirit. You see, the sun gives natural light. We saw Jesus using that light and darkness. Be sure that the light that is in you is not darkness. The sun also provided what they ate. You see, they planted their seeds. See, there was no sun. they wouldn't grow. The sun also baked their bricks that they build the houses with. They would take the clay, the mud, they would lay it out to dry it and boy, in one of those hot summer time, they could make a whole bunch of brick and build them a house. So, the natural light or the sun became the source of their life. And so what would happen is they would follow the sun. They would follow the moons. They were fascinated with that. So they found out as they would follow this that the sun after the summer solstice will begin to die. In other words, the the sun the time of the sun will be shorter. And you see that as summer ends, winter begins, the night get longer. Okay? And the sun gets shorter. So when it came down to about the end of December, at that time way back on December 24th, December 25th, the longest night came and the shortest day for the sun. There was snow, there was cold, the sun was so far down there that their crops wouldn't grow. They have to save the seed until springtime. So the very next day when the sun began to be longer again, that was a great time of festival that has been celebrated for you can go all the way back to uh Nimrod back to after Noah and his three son came out of the ark. So there's always been you you can look at it there there were gifts exchanged because they feared that if the sun kept getting shorter and shorter and shorter they will all die because their sustenance depended upon the sun. You need to understand this. This is very this is at the root of everything is that the false light and the real light. Now all of our system today we're refined. We don't say that to the sun and we don't say that but it's the same thing. All of our economy is based on that. If our economy fails then we all lose our jobs or we this happened. So everything works like this. Now I want to go to go to the next page and I'm going to show you how this affected the people of Israel. And this is going to be in the context of spiritual warfare. Spiritual warfare. Spiritual warfare is something that all of us are engaged into whether we like it or not. God, if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your savior and lord, the Bible says that everything that pertains to your life and to your godliness has already been made available for you. Colossians 1 where we read first scripture. You have already been qualified to receive all of this blessing. They are yours. You have been qualified to receive. God has provided them for you. Guess what? Satan does not want you to be blessed to have joy or to receive this blessing. So, Satan, who is the false light, his is a kingdom of darkness, will do everything possible to keep you from receiving the blessing that you have been qualified to. Now, guess who is it left up to to make the decision? Guess what? It's you and me. We either walk by the light of a natural understanding which is called darkness which leads to death or we walk by the light of the revelation of the spirit of God. That is what spiritual warfare is. Satan says you cannot have it. You do not disturb it. You did too much uh uh uh uh damage. You hurt too many people. You betrayed too many people. You're a loser. You'll never amount to anything. This is all in the natural understanding. Okay? in the spiritual understanding says your sins have been forgiven. God has put them as far as the east is from the west and I qualify you to receive every spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus. And there's nothing Satan can do about it as long as I walk in that light. And I'll have to make the fight because my natural senses are going to fight me every step of the way. They are going to fight me. Why? Because the demons are in it. It says the the wisdom of the earth is demonic. It's sensual and that thing will fight me. Now, what's happening over here on this chapter is a a battle, spiritual warfare that they fought way back then. It begins in 2 Kings 3:27. And of course, we're not going to have time to go through everything there. So, I'll just give you some highlights of what's going on. And and if you want to put in the time, you can go ahead and uh and and read it. But look at 2 Kings 3:27. It says, "Then he took his eldest son, who would have reign in his place, and offered him as a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation against Israel, so that they departed from him and returned to their own land." Now something happened in the spiritual realm when this man offer up his son as a sacrifice that caused a great deal of wrath. The word in the nation means wrath to arise against Israel and it kept them from fulfilling the word of the Lord that was spoken to them by the prophet. Now the setting in this sentence is Israel and Judah which are both Jews have become divided. When Solomon died his son that took his place abused the tribes of the north by putting too much taxes on them. So they rebelled against him and Israel became two kingdoms. The north were 10 tribes. They were called Israel. And to the south it was Judah and uh and Benjamin I think it was and they became Judah. So when you see here you will see that they are divided. Now the setting here is that when Ahab who was king of Israel died his son took his place. There was a nation which in this time it represents Satan. It was the nation of the world. Moab who pay them tribute. A 100,000 lambs and 100,000 skins of different animals they ha Previous Next Home

WHEN YOU PUT JESUS FIRST The objective of this teaching is to encourage believers to prioritize Jesus Christ above all else, recognizing that putting Him first transforms every area of life. By confessing Christ before others, living without fear of men, and walking daily in faith and obedience, Christians experience the revelation of God’s truth, the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, and the assurance of their eternal value in God’s eyes. WHEN YOU PUT JESUS FIRST Minister Lisa Kane June 8, 2025 Objective: The objective of this teaching is to encourage believers to prioritize Jesus Christ above all else, recognizing that putting Him first transforms every area of life. By confessing Christ before others, living without fear of men, and walking daily in faith and obedience, Christians experience the revelation of God’s truth, the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, and the assurance of their eternal value in God’s eyes. Synopsis: In this lesson, Lisa Kane explores Matthew 10, highlighting the call to boldly confess Jesus before men and the blessings that follow when believers put Him first. The teaching emphasizes that fear of people and circumstances must be replaced by fear of God, who alone holds eternal authority over body and soul. Through examples from personal life, scripture, and ministry, Lisa illustrates how God reveals hidden truths, gives direction through His Spirit, and confirms His presence in moments of obedience. Believers are reminded that confessing Christ publicly stems from the intimacy of the “secret place” with God, where prayer and devotion cultivate strength for witness. Prioritizing Jesus above family ties, personal desires, or worldly concerns may bring division, but it also secures the believer’s eternal standing before the Father. The message concludes by affirming that Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross proves our immense value to Him, and in response, we are called to love Him above all, walking daily in boldness, faithfulness, and love. Inspired Teaching - Written and/or Transcribed from Video Above: Hello and welcome to the House of Faith Ministries. I'm Lisa Kaine and I'm teaching this lesson today on Sunday, June 8th, 2025. Welcome. Let's open up in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word. Lord, I pray over the listeners to hear your word, to receive your word, that their hearts and minds, ears and eyes are prepped and ready, and that they not only receive, but apply it to their hearts and minds, to their lives, that they walk in your word in confidence, in boldness, in faithfulness. And I thank you Lord that your Holy Spirit is imparting upon the listeners here and now to have a change of life and be bold in com uh confessing you before men and not to be afraid of men. Thank you Lord. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Amen. Welcome. Glad you can join me today. Uh this uh teaching is called when you put Jesus first. Let's go to our opening scripture here. uh Matthew 10:32. We'll be focusing on Matthew uh 10 quite a bit today. Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my father which is in heaven. So we're going to be talking about confessing. We are going to be talking about how when you put Jesus first and he becomes a priority in your life, what happens next? And you're going to see that here. Now, as a reminder for those who are new, when you see a w a word here that's in bold, that's the word in the King James version. And the word in parentheses afterwards is another translation of that word from um esord. That's where I get it from. And I put those extra words in there. It really helps us to see the meaning behind what the translation was from the original. In this case, we're in the New Testament. So, it's the original Greek to English. And so, we're going to be uh looking at that. So, let's talk about confessing. What happens when you put Jesus first in your life? What does that do to you? Let's start here in Matthew 10 uh verse 26. It says, "Fear them not." And that word fear is be alarmed not. So, basically, don't be alarmed. Fear them not, therefore, or do not be alarmed of them. For there is nothing covered or hidden that shall not be revealed and hid that shall not be known or concealed not be known. So we as believers have a right to know the mystery behind the scriptures and behind what God is doing. He is sharing that to those of us who get closer to God and put God first. So, one of the first things that happens, and there's no particular order of these at all. This is just a transformation of what happens to our minds and our hearts and our bodies. I hope I didn't make that sound too loud. Um, when we put Jesus first and he's saying that first of all, don't fear anyone else. And we're going to talk more about this fear in just a moment, but he says, "Do not fear them, for there's nothing covered that shall not be revealed." In other words, everything that goes on, even behind the scenes in the dark places where people think they're doing secret sin, guess what? As a believer in Christ, we know because there's a little birdie telling us. And his name is the Holy Spirit. He's showing us that it's going to be revealed, meaning the cover, the darkness is going to come out of that. It's going to be off of that. And then he's saying that um whatever is concealed that shall not be known. So let's read that again just straight through. Fear them not therefore for there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed and he that shall not be known. So we will know these things as believers in Christ. Okay, that's good. Let's continue on because we are talking about what happens when you put Jesus first. You know how uh Matthew 6 uh 333 says uh seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and then all these things will be added unto you. Well, part of seek first the kingdom of God, that's the ministry and then seek first the uh and his righteousness. That's personal change that takes place and then all these things will be added unto you. So, this is a gift that you're seeing that the Holy Spirit will reveal the things that are going on behind the scenes. And I'm gonna tell you right now, I've had some revelations given to me that I was like, "Oh." So, you know, for those that don't believe, they're not going to understand this, but those of us who put Jesus first in our lives, we're we've got a gift that the Holy Spirit is going to talk through us. So, let's continue on. Verse 27. What I tell you in darkness or dimness, obscurity, that's speaking in light. And let me focus a little bit on this. Sometimes we don't understand why or what God asks us to do. Uh for example, I was in praise and worship this morning uh at church and wow, the anointing was so strong and I was just weeping, but there's a person that came to mind and I texted her a word from the Lord. I don't know what's going on there, but I know if I'm obedient to the Lord, he's speaking to her. And she responded in kind. So you can see that he says, "So what I tell you in darkness, uh, and sometimes dimness, obscurity, like sometimes in a dream, you might get something from the Lord and you'll be like, "What was that?" And it was interesting because I've had a couple of dreams over this past week and um maybe a week and a half. And what is just so interesting, I got a word from the Lord through scripture and a sister had given me a word from the Lord from another scripture. put those scriptures together and everything I experienced, not just the dreams, but everything I was doing in real life was spoken in those scriptures. And I was like, "Oh, that's the Lord speaking to me." Which he was telling me not to fear them. I went um yesterday, uh, excuse me, Friday to see an aunt and uncle. Uh, he had just gotten out of the hospital, been through a lot. We basically witnessed and prayed over them and anointed them with oil. And was interesting is my aunt confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. And she just she got touched. So very excited about that. But that was the word that the Lord was giving me again through dimness and obscurity or darkness. And he says, "Speak that in light." So when we got there, I wasn't afraid. I just spoke the truth. Here, I bought you a Bible. We want to pray with you. We want to put the anointing on the Lord. And they were accepting of it. There's nothing to be ashamed about that because you'll be surprised how much people want this. In fact, I remember days of my youth many many years ago like 30ome years ago as a young woman of God and we went door to door and I kept thinking this is just oh people are not going to you know you're invading their privacy basically. But every door we went to and knocked on and we asked do you just need prayer? You want us to pray with you? They all said yes. So you'll be surprised what the Holy Spirit is doing behind the scenes when you walk out in faith like that. Amen. So he says um and what ye hear in the ear that preach ye upon the housetops. Now I hear from the Lord every day because I spend time in the word. I am constantly putting God first. He is my priority. So he start I start them off every day and I end them off every night. And when you do that, you're going to hear the word of God speak to you. And this is why I wanted to kind of teach on this because this is one of the scriptures that the Lord gave me this week in regards to visiting my aunt and uncle and walking in the gifts and walking in faith which I just been talking about walking in the gifts. So we need to seek first our God have that relationship with him and you see all these things are going to be given unto us which are these gifts that the Holy Spirit gives to us. So as you can see here he says teach it, preach it, get it out on the housetops. let everybody know what's going on because you have a light that's inside of you that's manifesting out of you and yeah, they want to see that and they, you know what, they respond to that. Like I said, my aunt, I spoke to her the week before and told her we were coming out because it's it's a bit of a drive to get to her. She's in another state, but it was just interesting to see how she responded. And it was, I'm just coming out in faith. I'm going to put the Lord first and then I'm going to come over here and pray for you because I love you. And when that love Oh my goodness. Her and I were crying on the phone. Anyways, the Lord moves. And that is the anointing there. And I love that. So, we want to teach it. You want to get it out there. You want to tell people about it. And it says, "Fear." Here it goes again about fear. And fear not them which kill the body but are not able to kill the soul, but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Now, there's a very interesting scripture. It's not one I hear uh spoken on quite often, but there are killers out there, and it's more than just a person. And we're talking there's a spirit of killing that is out there. That's for another teaching. I can teach on that another time. There's a an avenger there. All of these spiritual things are going on in the background. Well, here's what's so interesting is there are other things that are killing us every day. It could be the sun rays. It could be the medications we're taking. There's consequences to all of this cuz see our flesh is just that. It's flesh. It's dying. Every day we get up, we age another day. Doesn't start over. We don't go back to our youth. At least not in the physical without God. When you put God first in your life, here is another thing that happens. When you put Jesus first, you wake up renewed, refreshed. His uh joy is his mercies are new every day. You have that opportunity to start a new day over with him. Again, this is why I start with him first every morning. Pull out my scripture. We pray and I've got my set I'm an intercessory prayer warrior. So, I pray every I have a set set of prayers that I do for each day of the week. And this is because I give God glory. I put him first in my life and then all the rest of the things. Now I I will tell you, am I aging still? Yes. Am I aging better than some? Yes. Am I aging a little slower or something? Yes. And it's not because of my bathroom routine or the soaps I use. It's because I spend time with Jesus first. He's the oh, I don't want to use the term magic elixir for the youth or the fountain of youth, but he is our life. And when you put him first, you have life. You see, Romans 6:23 says, "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is life." We have life and life abundantly when we put Jesus first in our lives. Amen. Continuing on to verse 29. Now I want you to get this and and understand. He says, "Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? And one of them shall not fall on the ground without your father, but the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not, therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows." You see, God takes care of the sparrows. He takes care of all the birds out there. They are wellfed. They die when he says they're to die. He does all and he then he comes out and says, "But how much more valuable are you than them?" He even knows how many hairs you have on your body at any given time. And that changes by the second. I mean, because especially the older you get, your hair thins out, you're losing hair, and then you end up and then you end up with extra hair in places you're not supposed to. That's okay because this is how God knows us at every moment of every day. You see, he's out of time. He's not aging. He's the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Whereas you and I are outside of him. We're in time. So, we change. I'm not the same person I was 20 years ago. For that matter, I'm not the same person I was five years ago. It it is amazing to see even after being a Christian since I was six how my relationship with the Lord transformed and changed throughout the ages of all these years of the decades you know I am going on 56 years old no I'm 56 going on 57 something like that but I know this I know that the Lord is first in my life and because I put him first my entire being transformed. I'm not the same. I am not going to be the same either because I don't want to go back that way. I want to go forward and be closer to the Lord, especially now that I know how valuable I am to him. This is why Jesus went to the cross and died for me and for you. It was the most difficult thing to do and there's so much he did in that moment. But he did it because he loves us. He considers us valuable. He paid the ransom for you and I because we were taken captive and he set us free with his act on the cross. And it's it's incredible. And and when you get that suddenly it now the reverse happens. He's more valuable to me than anything else in this world or that what this world can offer. I mean, I just love the fact that I have breath in my lungs. Yeah. I I'm also getting aches and pains as I age. Um I also seeing the as I age, you know, more wrinkles, but I'm walking more in wisdom now. And I wouldn't change it for a thing. I love the way the knowledge I have today with my Lord. And I don't want to go back. My eternity actually has already begun. And part of that was when I accepted Christ into my heart when I was six. I was waterbaptized when I was nine. And the Lord has transformed my life. And he continues to do it every day. My relationship has grown exponentially. And it continues to grow because I put him first. It is an action on my part and I encourage you to act on that too. Make him a priority because he's more valuable than all the money in the world. And I promise you that. Amen. Continuing on now, we're in verse 32. This is our opening scripture. Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my father which is in heaven. Now see, when you enter into the world, so you spent secret time with the Lord, you were in hidden because you put him first. You you said, "I'm going to read this morning." That was just you and him in that quiet, private moment. And you decided to open up that word and you read it. Well, then he talks to you through that word and he says, "Go confess it to those out there." And so what you did in secret becomes public because of God. You see this is why when you do secret things, secret sin, it will become public. Now you have to confess that before the Lord and say, I do not want to live like that. So the question to ask here now and to ask yourself this is am I doing something in secret in with the Lord and is it possible that he could reveal that and it's like he can do anything. So if he's going to reveal that eventually, then maybe you ought to confess, repent, and turn your life around so that what you're doing in the darkness, which is I praise the Lord in the darkness. And when you're doing that, it comes out in the forefront, especially, you know, as you are confessing before men, you're acknowledging Jesus before men. He's going to acknowledge you before his father, our father who art in heaven. And then verse 33 says, "But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my father which is in heaven." And denial there means to contradict or disavow. You go against what God is doing. And I can there's a lot of examples I can use and the one that comes to my mind right now is which I think is a classic example is the hatred of our president Trump. People hate him. They have their reasons and they're probably justified. But see, God asks you to forgive. And if you're not going to do that, see, God has forgiven. And if you're supposed to be Christlike, then you need to line up with him and forgive. If you're not going to do that, now you're just portraying anger and hatred out against him to the world. Well, guess what God is going to do to you? See, that comes back to you because of the choice in the decision that you decided to make on that. And this is where we have to realize even if we disagree and there, you know, we're we bigly or majorly disagree, that still means God is still in control and he's all about mercy. So, we need to line up and have mercy with him. Give him that mer give the mercy to the Lord and give the hatred to the Lord. Have mercy and say, "You know what, Lord? I'm going to take my eyes off of him. Take my eyes off of the hatred. I'm going to put my eyes on you. I'm gonna fix my eyes on you. And that is where the change begins in your life because you put Jesus first in your life. This is another thing that all of this section of scripture just talks about what happens when you put Jesus first in your life. This is why I entitled this message the way I did. Look at this now. Uh verse 34. Think not that I am come to send peace and on earth by the way the word peace there is also means prosperity says I came not to sense peace but a sword or war punishment you see a lot of people think that when you become a Christian you're all at peace and the God of peace is upon us but that doesn't mean he doesn't change the actions of the world. War still takes place. Racism is still out there. Hatred is still out there. And by the way, people who believe in Christ can also hate. So you have all of this activity still going on because Jesus didn't come to bring peace. What did he come to do? says in verse 35, "For I am come to set a man at variance, or to make a part against his father, and the daughter against his mother, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a man's foes to hate shall be they of his own household." Those that are going to hate you are your own household. This is why one of the things I was worried about going to visit my aunt uncle to pray over them was what they believe in versus what I believe in. I thought maybe this is going to turn into a clash of religion talk or you know politic talk at at the dinner table for your loved ones like at Thanksgiving or Christmas. But it didn't turn into that. One of the reasons is I went to the Lord, gave it to the Lord. I had people calling and texting me saying what's going on because the spirit was doing a rally call to those around me saying pray for her. pray for her family and the Lord was moving and he moved in that area and that's why it happened the way it did. I put Jesus first. Do you want your loved ones saved? If so, that you got to put Jesus first. Cuz see, one of the things that I know was one of the key factors here was when I was talking to her on the phone over several conversations, I would tell her, "I love you and I love Uncle so and so trying to keep this uh private for them. I would confess the love over them and you know what that resonated with them. See, I'm not here to force anything on anyone. You don't like this, turn it off. Walk away. But if you're really somebody who wants to put Jesus first in your life, there are consequences to putting Jesus first in your life, that's saving your family, that's saving your neighbors, that's ministering at church, but it's mostly being in the secret place with the Lord. Psalm 91. And I've taught a lot on Psalm 91 throughout the years. You can go see a whole I think one year I think almost every single message I taught that entire year had to do with get into the secret place of the Lord because what he does in secret he what you do in secret is going to be revealed. Now continuing on, he says um he that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me. And he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross followeth after me is not worthy of me. What he's saying here is what is your priority? Are you trying to be better than your parents? Maybe at a certain age you the rebellion you had is kind of still secretly there as you got older and now you know they're getting up there in age and you've seen them change but you're like I remember them the way they were. Well, see this is where you have to let the Lord change you too. And we are in a season right now where I see it happening on a personal level for a lot of people, but there's still a lot of people out there that are full of hate. And the anti-semitism right now is just absolutely incredible. I I if you would asked me 10 years ago that this was even possible, I I would have said, "Well, maybe some, but this is at a level where it's on a corporate level, on a national level, on a city level, on a the hatred and the anger is really, really bad towards um the Jewish community. I mean, to the point where they're just shooting them in the back, which is what happened a couple weeks ago to a beautiful uh couple that he was about to propose to her. And you know, but they're hopefully with the Lord right now, just resting in peace. And right now our job is to be in the secret confessing Jesus asking him to remove that hatred from us. Asking him to remove the hurt from us because a lot of hatred is driven by hurt. So we just have to say, "Lord, I want to be healed by you and I'm going to let this go." And and you just give it to the Lord. And notice it says here in love. Look at that. It says in love. Says he that love. So he's talking about love. So if your active love is towards your family, towards uh other things, you might even love the hatred you have towards President Trump. You might love that more. That's an act of love because you're spending and dwelling so much time on it. That's your act of love. So how do you get your act of love to change? You have to put Jesus first in your life. And to do that is to come into your secret place. This is what I do in here. And when I again, it's first thing I do in the morning. It's the last thing I do at night. I pray and I read the word of God because he's more valuable to me. And I love him more than any other thing out in the world. In fact, this world has nothing to offer me anymore. I choose Christ and I look forward to being in his presence. Now, I'm not going to jump the gun or do anything stupid. I have a job here to do. I'm going to do it and I'm going to do it out of love because one of the things that he revealed to me in the last couple years of my life is that he loves everybody else just as much as he loves me. And if I'm gonna line myself up with him and I'm gonna be like Jesus, then I'm going to love them like he loves them. Now, I may not be able to do it to the full extent like he went to the cross. I can't do that. But what I can do is I can pray, intercede, and just say, "Lord, I forgive them." And when I forgive, he's obligated to forgive. And that's found in Matthew 6. So this is a time and a season where we want to humble ourselves before the Lord and show him our love by spending time with him. Now it is prophesied in Matthew 24 that love will grow cold. Well, let me tell you something. It might be cold. Maybe I'm not doing it to the full extent of of generations like the disciples did after they saw what Jesus went through. I'm sure they believed and love God so much so that they went to the cross for him. I don't know that I could ever do that, but I know this. My eyes are fixed on him. I choose him first in my life. And because I do that, all of these things happen in my life. Amen. Let's close in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word. We thank you for touching our hearts and allowing love to grow in our hearts. So that we show our appreciation and love for you in the secret place that is revealed in the public. that we are interceding and praying for those and that what you reveal to us in our secret place, we preach it out on the housetops or the rooftops to the world and we let them know that you're our priority. And because that we love you and now that I know you love the others, I am hoping and praying for them that not one soul is lost, which Jesus said they would not lose one. And I thank you for that, Father God. We love you and we praise you. We put you first in our lives in the name of Jesus. Amen. And amen. Thank you. God bless you and I will see you in the next teaching. Bye-bye. Home Previous Next

ENTER HIS REST The purpose of this teaching is to help believers understand the biblical meaning of entering God’s rest, as taught in Hebrews 3–4 and supported by the Psalms. The message aims to show that rest is not merely physical relaxation but a spiritual act of faith and obedience. By choosing to trust God instead of striving in unbelief or frustration, Christians can experience peace, healing, stability, and victory in their daily lives. < Back ENTER HIS REST Minister Lisa Kane January 6, 2024 Objective: The purpose of this teaching is to help believers understand the biblical meaning of entering God’s rest, as taught in Hebrews 3–4 and supported by the Psalms. The message aims to show that rest is not merely physical relaxation but a spiritual act of faith and obedience. By choosing to trust God instead of striving in unbelief or frustration, Christians can experience peace, healing, stability, and victory in their daily lives. Synopsis: In Enter His Rest, Lisa Kane explores the scriptural call for God’s people to enter into His promised rest. Drawing from Hebrews 3 and 4, she highlights the example of Israel’s disobedience in the wilderness, showing how unbelief kept them from receiving the rest God intended. In contrast, true faith and obedience open the door to peace, stability, and blessing. The message also weaves in insights from Psalms 37, 38, and 116, which connect rest with patience, forgiveness, and the quieting of the soul in God’s presence. Rest is shown to be both a command and a gift—an intentional act of ceasing from striving, trusting God’s provision, and allowing Him to heal both body and spirit. Lisa emphasizes that entering God’s rest equips believers to resist anger, frustration, and fear, while cultivating boldness, faith, and testimony before others. Just as God rested on the seventh day, Christians are called to follow His example by stepping back from self-effort and allowing His Word and Spirit to work within them. Ultimately, rest becomes a weapon of victory, crushing the enemy underfoot, and a testimony of faith that demonstrates God’s peace and power in the midst of life’s challenges. Inspired Teaching: Hello and welcome to the House of Faith Ministries. I'm Lisa Kane and I'm recording this message on Saturday, January 6, 2023. This message is called Enter His Rest. Amen. Let's open up in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your presence and we thank you for your anointing and we thank you for the power of your word, the living word of God. And we thank you that it moves forward. That it strikes and divides and meets the needs of every person deep within their bones. Father God, I thank you. I thank you. And I thank you because you are all powerful. You are glorious. You are the creator. You are the healer. You are the provider. Thank you in the name of Jesus. Amen. And amen. Amen. Amen. Let's go to our opening scripture here in Hebrews. Hebrews 3:19. And so we see that they cannot enter in because of unbelief or that word unbelief means faithlessness or another word for it is faithlessness. Well, you know I am teaching a different kind of message. So this is called enter his rest. My pastor taught on Sunday uh a message on rest and the Sabbath and I you know resonated with me. Normally I don't teach on something that another pastor's taught on but then I heard three other messages. So, I got a total of four messages this week on the topic of rest in the Sabbath. And I thought, wow, Lord, you're talking to me. So, this message is really more for me, but I'm going to share it with you while I teach myself. Amen. So, I've done some research here. We are going to be focusing in Hebrews, and we're going to be focusing on uh Hebrews 3 and 4. So, if you want, get your Bibles ready because we're going to be reading some good chunks of scripture through there. In the meantime, there are three scriptures in Psalms that I want to show you that apply to rest. And it kind of really uh brings to heart the difference between living in sin, living with Christ, because you got to know the difference between the two. I taught on this last week, what the difference between salvation and living for Christ is. So there is something visible that we can see and actually entering or not entering into that rest gives us a clue as to who you are and what kind of life you're living. Amen. So Psalm 37:7, rest in the Lord and wait patiently for him. Fret not thyself because of him who prosperth in his way because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. All of us look out at other people and we all see those that are doing so good, so prosperous, have all the money. I mean, look at our current leadership in the government of the United States of America and how prosperous they are. It's frustrating. But God is saying, look at this or this the author of Psalm here is saying rest. Look at the word rest. To be dumb, see, stop in the Lord. Okay, let's explain because it takes a moment to think this through and understand it. So to be dumb. Okay, so in other words, what you're doing is because you're so frustrated, you get mad and you see these situations. So what that word rest is telling you to do, just stop, pretend that's not going on, be dumb about it, and go to the Lord. Wait a second. How do I do that? Because now the emotions are flying. Look at what kind of emotions he's talking about in the Psalms. He says, "Fret not thyself." And what does that mean? Glow or grow warm. The blood pressure, you're you're getting heated. Your your face turns color when you get angry. It turns red. It just that's the way it happens. Darkens and reds and bulges. Well, he's saying, "Don't let that get to you. Rest in the Lord." What does he say? rest, which means to be dumb. Cease. Stop. Stop yourself. Oh, okay. I gotta stop myself. How do I do that? So, we're gonna be looking into that. Um, now let's look at another verse in Psalm. Psalm 38:3. There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger, neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin. Here we are again about anger. If you're angry at something or someone, look at this. I have no rest. There's no soundness, no wholesome, no I'm not complete in my flesh. My my my bones are not at safe. They they're not healthy. They're not prosperous because I'm in sin and I haven't been forgiven of my sin. So taking rest is an act of obedience or if you don't do it, you're in sin. [Music] which we all know that Jesus, he's the the Messiah. He came to redeem us and pardon us. And because he did that, we get to stop and say, "Lord, forgive us." So, he's showing us, these scriptures are showing us a little bit of self-control here. We have to take heed, make sure we don't let this get out of hand. Let's look at a third verse in Psalm. Psalm 116:7. Return unto thy rest, oh my soul, for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee. Look at this. Return back. You got to get your life back with God in the secret place with the Lord. You have to find that rest, quiet, settled spot home for your soul. Your soul needs to have that quiet moment. And look at because the Lord is treated bountifully with you. You are God will treat you bountifully. This is an act of obedience. He's going to do that. So, let's go to Hebrews. We're going to look at start at three. We're going to go in start at chapter 3. We're going to go into chapter 4, but let's start at verse 11. And this is the chunk of scripture we're looking at is the author is trying to tell us, okay, we're going to look at the Israelites who wandered the wilderness for 40 years and what they did. And look at what God did here. So now God, he swore an oath in his wrath. Okay? Because it's talking about God. So I swear in my wrath, and it was a justifiable, violent, passionate wrath that he's talking about that this is God talking. They shall not enter my rest. Because see, God said to the Israelite, he was so vexed and frustrated with him that he's like, I'm not going to let you enter my rest. I mean, he just got mad. And this is where he's saying, "They shall not enter my rest." Look at the word rest there. It means reposing down or dormant sleep, abode, which is like a home. And uh as you can see what I'm teaching here is the bold words are in the King James version. The words in parentheses are additional meanings of that word in bold. Okay. So as you can see here he swore in his wrath and he's a they're not going to get into a reposing down dormant sleep or abode. Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil which is a hurtful influence heart or thoughts or feelings of unbelief which is faithless faithlessness in departing from the living God. You see, when you're in hardness of heart, which is what these people in the wilderness were, you are in evil. You're you have a hurtful influence on the thoughts and the feelings of those around you because you don't have faith. you're not following the living word of God. You're not living in the living word of God. And these people were doing that. So this writer, the author of Hebrews is telling us, get a hold of yourself. Now let's continue on. 13 But exhort one another daily while it is called today, lest any of you follow the same pattern, be hardened through the deceitfulness, delusion of sin. You see, when the Israelites had wandered around and they were eating heaven, bread from heaven, mana, they got bored with it and they wanted their onions back from when they were in slavery with the Egyptians. Oh, those onions. Oh, I miss those. Oh, if I could only have another, you know, had they had just humbled themselves and took hold of themselves and say, you know, Lord, went to Moses and said, "Hey, Moses, can you go talk to God? I'm thankful we have the mana. I'm grateful for it. Can he add some flavor to it or give us a a difference? Because see, we're in the flesh. We want something different all the time. And God knows that and he will work with you. This is why he said, "Enter your rest." Because you got to deal with your flesh. Which is what Psalms was trying to tell us about our bones not being in good, safe, healthy, prosperity areas because we're not entering into that rest. This is where people get cancer and things of that nature. This is why you'll see a lot of medical offices and systems try to provide a tw tranquil atmosphere for their patients because they're trying to calm them because if they can calm down a bit, it brings the blood pressure down. Right? Verse 14. For we are made partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end. Basically saying we're participants of of Christ and what he did. We need to stay confident in and we have to set ourselves under his support and be stable unto the end. You see that's what entering rest is all about. Stability. How many times you do good, you do good, you do good, you do it for several months in a row and all of a sudden you crash and burn because you got to enter your rest to keep it going to the end. While it is said today, if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts as in the provocation or the irritation of the Israelites to God back in the wilderness. And he's saying today, now today meant, let's say we were here yesterday. Yesterday was today. Tomorrow will be today. So he's saying now, this is the now you have to get a hold of yourself, take heed of yourself and watch out for hardening your heart. And then he says, "For someone they had heard did provoke or exasperate. How be it not all that came out of Egypt by Moses." See, some did. And what's happened is when you get a bad apple, it kind of affects all the other apples in the basket. Well, you had these moaner and groaner and complainers. And then these people who weren't moaning and complaining heard that and oh yeah, okay. and they agree and it becomes fruitful. It multiplies. Well, we have to stop that. We have to take heed of ourselves. If you hear someone complaining, you should be entering the Lord because that's where your rest is. Let's continue on because the author is going to get to that. Says verse 17, "But with whom was he grieved or vexed?" 40 years God whom was he grieved and vexed with? Was it not with him that had sinned or missed the mark? whose carcasses the limb of the body fell in the wilderness. You see, there's a consequence to not entering in his rest, to not following the obedience of God's call. The people of the Israelites in the wilderness did not make it into his rest because God swore they will not enter his rest because they were provoking him to anger. They weren't taking heat of themselves and getting some self-control to say, "Hey, so this is what he's saying." So those people, they died in the wilderness. This is why your bones get sick. This is why you get sick because you didn't take the rest that your body requires. And God used that to just basically tell them, "You're not entering my rest." And he killed them all off. I think it was 21 years and younger entered into the promised land. the rest didn't because of their act of disobedience. Verse 18, and to whom swear or an oath he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believe not. So what he's saying is they there's a promise here. And this is what the author is trying to point out. He's telling them they're the ones that were acting in disobedience and I swore that they cannot have rest. Which means there's a rest for those of us who do obey. Let's look at that. Let's look at that. This is awesome. So, we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. We know that they lacked faith. You know, they you know, it was different because Moses would go speak to them face to face and he they got scared of them. Yes. But then they went and built a golden calf and they went and did this and they went and did that. Wandering for 40 years, moaned and complained and groaned and and vexed the Lord. So now look at what he says about this. We're now in chapter 4 verse one. Let us therefore fear lest a promise being left of us enter into his rest. Any of you should seem to come short, deficient in fear of it. You see, he's saying if you're going to believe you, if you're not going to believe me, you're going to act in disobedience. This is what's going to happen to you. But if you choose to believe, this is a promise for you to enter into his rest today, not tomorrow. But tomorrow will be today, and you will be in that rest if you choose to have faith and believe. How do you have faith when faith is you? A lot of us don't have faith that even measures up to the size of a mustard seed as Jesus pointed out. And these people in the wilderness did not have any faith. They wanted to go back to what they knew. They couldn't see the future that God had for them. And remember, even when Joshua entered into the promised land, they had to go to war and fight the um other cultures that were around and all the other kingdoms that were there. They had to fight them. But God was with Joshua and he used different tactics to beat them all and God showed himself more and more because they had faith. This group of people believed. So the question is, are you going to be the one who's going to die out in the wilderness where your carcass dies, your bones become sin, uh corrupt, full of sin and disease, or are you going to have the belief and the faith that Jesus is the son of God and that you can enter his rest? I mean, I don't know if you're struggling with sleep right now or if you're struggling in your mind where you need to have a peace. I'm going to tell you right now, all of this action of being obedient, entering into his rest gives us the victory for the situations and the circumstances we've been dealing with and praying for and whatever we're facing. Let's go on. Let's go on. I want you to see this. Verse two. For unto us was the gospel preached as well as unto them. But the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. You see, now you're looking at two groups of people, which is what I've been talking about. Ones that don't have faith, they lack belief. They're not believing. And then you have a group that is believing. And all it takes is the moment you choose to be obedient. Okay, God, I don't understand why you're telling me to sit down or why I have to come to you and I can't deal with this situation myself. I can't go deal with our current government and current powers. I can't go deal with that myself. Okay, I'm going to put myself in this situation and I'm going to wait on you in obedience even though I don't want to. God respects that. He does. He wants you to act in that obedience because that act is your act of faith which activates God and he moves on your behalf. Now your bones are safe. You're in good health because those that try to attack, let's say a prominent position that's being ran by evil right now and you try to go take it out, what happens? You end up dying most of the time or they arrest you and you go into jail and you never come out again. That's just how that works. So, this is where now we have to take heed, self-control, and come into believe. And whether you believe or not, you say, "Okay, Lord, I'm going to have to trust you. I don't understand what's going on. I don't know why evil is so prominent right now. I don't know why these these things are taking place for I know that the the gates of hell will not prevail. So, I'm just going to take a step of faith and I'm going to enter your rest and I'm going to pray about it. Or you've got managers at work that are just picking on picking on you. You've got situations in your home where people are aggravating you and and I'm going to go enter my rest with the Lord because I need it. Lord, I come to you. I give this to you. I'm going to sit here. I'm going to put some praise worship music on. I give it to you. It's done. I'm going to leave it alone and I'm going to do something different. I'm going to read scripture. I'm going to do some crochet. I'm going to do knitting. I'm going to bake some bread. I'm going to go work on an engine in a car. But I'm giving it to the Lord first. You see how powerful the presence of rest does for us? For us, for me, the me. This is so important. Oh, and that that takes that's taking faith and belief and mingling the two together. That is our responsibility that we need to do. Now, verse three, for we which have believed do enter into his into rest, as he said, as I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest, although the works toil, acts were finished from the foundation of the world. You see, God entered his rest after he did his works and all the works were done at the end of the sixth day. So if all the works were done, all the evil was already taking place and we know the victory and the outcome of the war, then this is where now we can win the battle because we choose to come into the rest knowing faith, knowing belief we got the victory. Oh hallelujah. Look at Jesus. Look at what God did on the seventh day. This is the author still Hebrews. He's still talking about God on the seventh day. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise and God did rest that seventh day from all his works. Now that word wise there means it's referring to a precedent. Uh it's going to go be it's going to become the rule to follow. So God rested on the seventh day. This is why we have what's called the Sabbath. This is one act of obedience that we can take upon ourselves and have that um that satism that that peace at rest. Now it doesn't mean no work or it doesn't mean sleep or don't walk to your neighbors or things like that. Now I know the Israelites followed it that way but as a believer in Christ a little different for us. It is the act of obedience to say I'm going to settle down. I'm going to calm my soul. you know, because I've been praying in the spirit now um for the prayers I posted up on our website recently and I've been doing it for several weeks in a row and I was kind of getting burned out of it and I was like, Lord, I can't keep doing this. I'm going to treat it kind of like a job and take my weekend off and do it during the week. And then all of a sudden, here comes this message teaching me how about rest. Now you see why I want to teach this to you. Because now I'm finally beginning to understand what it is that God did when he rested on the seventh day. So now I've done my prayers. I did my obedience. And now Lord, I enter your rest. I'm going to sit down. I'm put some praise and worship music on. I'm going to knit. I'm going to crochet. Whatever I'm going to do for that that settles me, that keeps me calm and the things that I like to do. But I'm sitting there and all I'm doing is just I'm not having to do anything I don't want to do. That's the rest our bodies needs. And you know, it's a mind and body thing that your your bones are going to appreciate because you need to heal. They need to heal. This is what I I've been aching and hurting because we've been moving all this kind of stuff and getting settled. And the other day I sat down and I was I was crossstitching and and a couple hours later, you know, as I got up, walked around, I was like, even the next morning I got up and I go, man, I feel a whole lot better. I'm telling you guys, this is very powerful. Very, very powerful. Um, and and so here God rested on the seventh day. Verse five. And in this place again, if they shall enter into my rest, seeing therefore it remainth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached, entered not in because of unbelief. It was first preached to the Israelites, and they didn't enter. They rejected Jesus as the son of God. And as a result, and well, they rejected God and his provision out in the wilderness. What he was trying to do is work on their heart so that he can get them humbled so he can bring them into the promised land. this group of people were so stubborn and hard and necked hardhearted that he couldn't get them out of it. So he says, "Never mind. You're not going to enter the rest I have for you." But he's telling the rest of us who look at that as an example to say, "I do have a rest for you." It's a promise. I love it. I love it. Let's continue on. Verse 9. There remainth therefore a rest. And look at what that word rest means. Type of heaven, sabbaticism. It's a repose, which means a sleep, peace, tranquility, calm of Christianity to the people of God. Meaning, all hell can be breaking loose. And you've entered into God's rest. And you say, "You know what? I've already given it to the Lord. He's taken care of this. I don't have to worry about it." And you have victory just from that alone. That act, that statement, because you are now stating as a fact, which is an act of faith of belief that God already took care of it. I don't have to worry about it. A that's awesome. I hope you guys are grasping this. Verse 10. For he that is entered into his rest, he also has ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest lest any man fall under the same example of unbelief. We got to take heed, have some self-control, put ourselves in that rest. It's something we have to do. God is expecting us to do it because now it becomes an act of obedience. And did you see that he says settle down cease for he that entered into his settle down cease moment we ceased from our works. You know, all these prayers that I've been praying, actually, the moment I enter my rest, it's like the amen and the amen. Let it be done. Okay, Lord, I'm going to enter my rest. I've done my part. It's up to you to do your part. This is now to show you what I'm talking about in that because I want you to see this. Those scriptures preede this. This is now Hebrews 4. We're still in Hebrews 4. We just finished verse 11. Look at what verse 12 is. For the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of sunder of soul and spirit and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the hearts. You see, you're now in a situation. And I'm going to pause. I'm gonna let God handle this because he's going to take care of it better than I would anyways. So every time you're praying and you're giving God the glory, and then you enter into that moment of confidence, boldness, rest, I feel good. God's got it. God's got it. And every time that all hell breaks loose and it's all, you make a better decision when you're in your rest. You know how to decide where to go, what to say, what to do. you are prepped and ready as a believer in Christ. And then what does that do? That establishes your testimony to those running because they're looking at you like, why aren't you all in all up in arms about this management change or this this kind of issue or situation? Or why aren't you more concerned about our loved ones and da da da why aren't you concerned that he's not getting well? And what you're doing is you're saying, "I'm in faith by obeying God because I gave it to him and I'm not going to let it worry me." [Music] That's what this scripture means by the dividing of the soul and the spirit. You know, like I said earlier, when I had laid down and rested and finally got in my rest, I sat down and the next morning I got up and I was like, "Man, my bones feel a lot better. I'm not so achy today." That is the rest of God that he has promised us. The healing that we have the right to have. Oh, hallelujah. Hallelujah. This is how the word of God penetrates our hearts and minds. It's that act of obedience where we step out and say, "God's got it. God's got it. Quick. It's powerful. It's sharper. God's got it. It discerns. Oh, God's got it. Look at verse 16. Let us therefore come boldly into the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. You We got to do this for God's grace and to help those in the time of need. Because how many people are out there that are not in the rest of God? They're not resting in God. Now, Paul talks about this in Romans. Look at Romans 16:20. And the God of peace, look at that word peace here. Prosperity, rest, quietness, shall bruise, crush completely, shatter Satan under your feet shortly. That's in the state of rest. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. Are you catching this? The moment you enter into your obedient rest time and rest period, the grace of peace, the God of peace, your prosperity, your rest, your quietness is going to bruise the devil because every time the devil throws something at you, God's got this. I'm at peace. I've settled my soul down with the Lord. I'm good. Woo. And he says, "Satan, it'll crush completely, shatter Satan." Now, Satan is, it's another word for any evil that comes in your life that comes after you. Bad health, bad finances, and and a lot of these things you're in that situation because you made bad decisions because you didn't enter your rest that you have that God has given you to enter. Oh, and it crushes crush completely shatters Satan under your feet shortly. And that's that state of rest. How long does it take for healing to take place? Sometimes it could take days. Sometimes it could take months. Um I went uh when I was getting out of that diabetes and high cholesterol, that kind of stuff. And I've been healed of all of that. It took several weeks of me praying. I had the elders pray over me, casting the demons out. I did everything I possibly could. It took weeks, but finally when I finally said, "You know what, Lord? I'm going to trust and take this step of faith and I just got rid of all that insulin. I got rid of all that those pills." Do you know that to this day I still have no issues? None whatsoever. You know, and and there are moments that it tries to come back and it's like, "Nah, get lost. I already defeated you, devil." Talk about having some confidence and boldness. This is going to trigger that when you enter your rest. Because what you're doing is you're telling the Lord, "You got this. I'm done trying to handle it myself. And I choose to walk in the quietness, in my rest, because you promised me rest." And that means I know that you and the angels and the Holy Spirit are going forth and doing your thing. Amen. Amen. Amen. Oh, I hope you get this message. I hope you stand on Christ and I hope you apply it to yourself. Oh, let's close the word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word. We thank you for the power and the anointing of your word. And we pray and ask that we apply it to our lives. That we do enter our rest that you promised us. That we live in that rest. that we live in that confidence and the boldness knowing that you and the angels and the Holy Spirit are taking care of whatever's going on around us, Father God. For we do it in the act of obedience. We do it in an act of faith because we believe. We believe that you are the son of God, Jesus. We believe that you redeemed us and pardon us. We believe that you are God. You are holy. We believe in faith that you are our provider, that you are our healer. And so we take the act of faith to believe and co-mingle the two together so that we can enter into the rest and say, "Here you go, Lord. All my problems belong to you because they're not mine anymore in the name of Jesus, the son of the living God. Amen and amen." And God says, "I take it. Enter your rest." I hope you get this and I hope you live it. Amen. Amen. God bless you. I'll see you in the next message. Byebye. Previous Next Home

I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE The objective of this teaching is to help believers understand Jesus as “the resurrection and the life” through the account of Lazarus in John 11. It aims to show that Christ’s power is greater than sickness, death, and despair, and that faith in Him allows us to experience spiritual life here and now. By examining the responses of the disciples, Martha, and Mary, the teaching highlights different approaches to Jesus and demonstrates how faith, awareness, and trust in His word open the door for God’s glory to be revealed. I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE Minister Lisa Kane January 5, 2025 Objective: The objective of this teaching is to help believers understand Jesus as “the resurrection and the life” through the account of Lazarus in John 11. Synopsis: In this teaching, Lisa Kane explores John 11 where Jesus declares, “I am the resurrection and the life.” Using the story of Lazarus, the message emphasizes that God allows certain trials and delays not to harm us, but so His glory may be revealed in greater measure. The disciples represent believers who follow but often lack awareness, Martha reflects those who question God’s timing yet still acknowledge His authority, and Mary portrays those who, despite deep faith, sometimes grieve without recognizing Christ’s present resurrection power. Through each encounter, Jesus reveals different dimensions of belief—leading to the ultimate miracle of Lazarus being raised from the dead. The teaching drives home the truth that Jesus is not only the promise of eternal life after death, but the source of life here and now. As believers, we are called to walk in that resurrection power, to trust His timing, and to glorify God in every situation—knowing that nothing, not even death, can overcome the life of Christ in us. Inspired Teaching - Written and/or Transcribed from Video Above: Hello and welcome to the House of Faith Ministries. I am Lisa Kaine and I'm recording this teaching on January 5th, 2025. Welcome. Let's open up in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word. Your word will not return void. And I pray a blessing upon the listeners of this teaching that their hearts and minds are open to see, hear, receive, and believe the living word of God. to believe in the life and the resurrection of Jesus Christ and to choose life and to walk in life. Father God, I thank you that the message penetrates so deep that it is never forgotten. Thank you, Lord. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen. Amen. Amen. I'm so glad you could join me today, January 5th, 2025. This is my first teaching in 2025, but we have a lot of teachings on the website. go. A lot of videos, a lot of published documents. We've been doing this since um either the year 2000 or the year 2002. No, the year 2002 or the year 2004. Not sure exactly when the start date happened. My dad founded this ministry and it has been going since. And um he is retired. Uh every once in a while he'll write a new published document. He doesn't want to do videos, but that's okay. As uh he does get inspired by the Lord, he'll write something. And I think he's working on something right now. He made a comment about it. We'll see how far he gets to it. But praise God, we are here. And we're going to be talking about Jesus saying, "I am the resurrection and the life." Let's go to our opening scripture here in John 11:25. We will be in the Gospel of John in chapter 11 for this entire teaching. Verse 25. Jesus said unto her, talking to Martha, I am the resurrection. The word resurrection means stand up again and the life. He that believeth, which is to have faith in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. We're going to get to that conversation here. What I want to teach on today is there are two different approaches to reaching Jesus. Now, in those approaches, there's a lot of dynamics that take place here being a believer in Christ. And and and both these approaches are believers in Christ. They're just two different approaches to Jesus. This is why I want to teach on this when this when I read this the other day. I'm in my personal reading in the Gospel of John right now and uh and in Psalms, but I'm in John and I was at John 11 a few days ago and I read this and it just hit me in such a way that I was like, I got to teach on this. So that's why we're here today. So we're going to start in verse four so we can get a background that's going on here. This is about when Lazarus dies, by the way. So that's what we're getting to. uh verse four uh in John chapter 11 when Jesus heard that he said this sickness is not unto death. So, what he heard is, "Hey, Lazarus is sick. You might want to come home. Jesus, you love Lazarus. Martha, Mary, you're good friends with the family. Um, you have a very good, strong relationship with them." I want you to take a look at that. This is talking about people who have a strong relationship with the Lord. You're going to catch a lot in this message. I'm going to read a lot of scriptures in this message, but the whole point of it is I'm letting the Holy Spirit speak to you as I just throw in little things that he's speaking to me about. So, listen very carefully because you're going to be hearing the Holy Spirit. So, here you had uh Jesus just heard that Lazarus is sick and he's responding, "The sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the son of God might be glorified thereby." Okay, he just said it's not unto death. Many of us have realized that Lazarus does die. Let's pause for just a moment because I think this is worth it. Lazarus died, but Jesus said it wasn't unto death. Jesus is the allsane word. Something disobeyed Jesus. But Jesus allowed it to happen because what did he say? But for the glor This sickness is not unto death but for the glory of God that the son of God might be glorified thereby. So even though he says it's not unto death, we know that Lazarus ends up dying and we know that he's being risen from the grave. So Jesus is allowing this to glorify God. So there's a purpose here. We know why Lazarus ends up dying. We know why he is risen. And look what else it says here. Verse 5. Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was. So let's stop to think about this for just a moment. Things happen around us all the time. Uh for an example, my mom dealing with cancer. I didn't abode two days before I went to go see her. I ran. And here Jesus stopped for two days. And not only is he stopping, he's saying it's not to death. He prophesied it's not to death, but yet he knew Lazarus was going to die. You're going to see the further conversation he's going to have here in just a moment. And it it fascinates me to realize that Jesus knew exactly what was going on. Which means as believers in Christ and we're Christlike, if we're spending time in the Holy Spirit, we're spending time in the word, we should know exactly what's going on at all times. And I've heard a lot of testimonies throughout the years of people just, yeah, I was being obedient to the Lord. He told me to go do this and I did that. And it's wow. And it would have seemed like, oh, that was too late. No, no, no, no, no. It's not because it's to the glory of God. This is to glorify God. That's the whole point. Let's go to verse seven. Then after that saith he to his disciples, let us go into Judea again. So his disciples said to him, "Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee, and goest thou thither, and goest thou thither again." You want to go there again? They want to stone you. I want to pause here also for this moment. So Jesus knows this is to the glory of God. And yes, the Jews, um the Pharisees, Suh Sadducees, um the Sanhedrin, they want to come kill him. They already want to stone him to death. They and they know it. They're aware. You see, you should be aware of your surroundings. You should know exactly what's going on always. That's as a believer in Christ. So they know this. And they're like, "You want to go there where you're gonna be close?" Because see, Bethany, which is where Lazarus, Mary, and Martha lived, not far from Jerusalem. So, yeah, he wants to go there. Yeah, he might get, you know, they're going to try to stop. But see, Jesus is in control of everything. Jesus is the one who gives permission. You see, he gave permission for Lazarus to die because nothing can overcome Jesus. And Jesus prophesied that it wasn't unto death. I hope you're grabbing this. I hope you're getting it. Uh Jesus answered verse 9, "Are there not 12 hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not because he seeth the light in this world." Now, he's going back to the uh his disciples and saying, "You need to be aware of what's going on. If you're not aware of what's going on, you you're not in the light." He's saying, "But if a man walk in the night, now he's talking the darkness side of it. He stumbleth because there is no light in him. See, to have the light, you need to have Jesus in you. You need to have the Holy Spirit. Remember, Jesus already went and got baptized. He rose from uh came out of the water and the dove landed on him. So, he was water baptized and spirit baptized at the same time. So, as he came out, he came in and then he went into the wilderness for 40 days and defeated Satan there. So here now he has a situation where he's showing us how we can come to him. He says one you need to be aware of the things going on around you. I want you to catch that. Now look at here. He says these things these things said he and after that he saith unto them our friend Lazarus sleepeth but I go that I may awake him out of sleep. Then said his disciples Lord if he sleep he shall do well. Usually sleep helps when you're sick. And and so the disciples are like he should be fine. He's sleeping. And then Jesus, how be it? Jesus spake of his death, but they thought that he has spoken of taking a rest in sleep. Then Jesus then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead, and I'm glad for your sakes that I was not there to the intent ye may believe. Nevertheless, let us go on to him. So he's having this conversation about going there. And then he says, now I'm glad he's he died. You see, he allowed it to happen to give God the glory. But now he's looking at his disciples. His disciples believe, but they weren't aware. How many Christians are out there that aren't aware of the power of God that exists or are not aware of the things that you can do as a believer in Christ? I hope you're catching this. This is very powerful and I'm glad you were not there. That's so powerful. Then said Thomas, which is called Ditimus unto his fellow disciples, let us also go that we may die with him. Obviously, now the disciples are becoming aware something's happening. Oh, he's going to go fight. He's going to go to war. Okay, we're going to go with him and die with him. So they went from not believing the situation or not even being aware of the situation to now being aware of something else going on but not quite right, not quite the awareness that they were looking for. Uh verse 17, then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already. So by the time Jesus got to Bethany, which he purposely delayed himself, he's dead now four days. And that's very significant. The the number four is very interesting. Four is creation or a completed thing. So you've got father, God the father, God the son, God the holy spirit, and then you you make up the four. And when the four of you work together, well, you can raise somebody from the dead is what Jesus is saying here. So but the point of him being dead for four days is to make sure that the people knew this man was dead. He is dead. There was no, "Well, he might have been dead and he got up three days later." No, he was dead. He had been wrapped up completely. The stone had been put in front of his grave. He's dead. Now, that was the disciples point of view of having to go to raise this guy from the dead, knowing full well they might be stoned. And so, Thomas is like, "Let's just go do it anyways. If we die, we die with him." you know that he's motivated for that kind of stuff. Okay, but there's something else going on here because now we're going to see the perspective of Martha and we're going to see the perspective of Mary and this is just so powerful and is so interesting. Uh verse 20, then Martha as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming went and met him. But Mary sat still in the house. So we are just talking about Martha right now. This is Martha having a conversation. I want you to look. Okay, you had disciples who followed Jesus but were unaware of what was going on but felt that okay, he's going to go do battle. Let's go do battle with him. If we got to get stoned, we got to get stoned. That's how they're looking at it. So now you've got Martha who what's the first thing she does? This is a believer in Christ. This is a believer. She says, "Then Martha said unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hast been here, my brother had not died. Since you weren't here, he died because you didn't heal the sick. See, she believed in his healing. He could have been healed from being sick. But this is a point where now Lazarus went to death. He died and he's been dead four days. And she's like, "Dude, you should have been here." And you were She's accusing him. How many Christians accuse Christ of not doing something? You got to get past that point. By the way, who's the accuser? Ain't that the devil? Shouldn't he do his own job? Let him do his own job. Now, let's go to verse 22. But I know that even now, so she accused him. She She laid it out. She's like, I'm laying this. I'm being truthful. You should have been here. He'd be well. So verse 22, but I know that even now whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee. How many times did Jesus tell us, "Whatever you ask, I will give to you." Martha knew that. So even though she accused him of not being there, which by the way, we know that Jesus is everywhere now, which is awesome. but because he wasn't there. But I know that if you ask God, you will get your answer of God. She didn't say ask God for him to live. Oh, catch that. She didn't ask if he could live. She says, I know whatever you ask, God will answer. Because she's saying, you know what, I'm the sinner. But and yeah, I'm mad at you, but at the same time, I know that you can ask and it will be given. Whatever belief you have, whatever level you're at with Christ, you let him do it. You say, "I have to trust you because there's nothing else I can do, Lord." Look what Jesus says. Jesus saith unto her, "Thy brother shall rise again." Remember, Jesus already said this was a sickness, not unto death. He's got prophecy that he laid down on his behalf. I hope you're getting more golden nuggets than I am. I'm very excited about this. This is so neat. Verse 24, Martha said saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. And and she's like, he's going to rise again. I know that. I know, in fact, in even in my mind, I know that all of us eventually are going to be on the other side, whether heaven or hell because everybody dies eventually. So, everybody is going to die eventually. But see, here's the thing, and I really want you to catch this. We have been promised everlasting eternal life. And that life begins here and now even in the flesh as we believe. Which means we don't go out until God wants us to go out and he gives permission for that. Which means sickness can't take us get that. You see, you know, when I pray for my mama, you know, I'm praying for her to be healed. Yes. Why? Not till she lived forever and outlived me and suffered that. No, I don't pray that way. I pray that she gets up out of the sickness and get back into the ministry of the Lord and go when God calls her to go. And nothing like sickness or cancer, whatever, can take her because God is not giving that permission because she's a believer in Christ. That's what we're talking about. So Martha though is already assuming and as a believer he's dead. He's been dead for four days. It's done. And Jesus says, "No, he'll rise again." She said, "After the resurrection." And then he goes to say, "I am the resurrection and the life. He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live." Now, here's something that's very interesting. Hebrews 9:27 tells us that every man is appointed to die once. We're dead before we become a believer. And the moment you become a believer, life springs up in you and you are alive and your name is written in the lamb's book of life. So even though he's talking about resurrection of Lazarus, which Lazarus is dead, he's also showing here's Martha, a type of believer who came to Christ, who says, "All right, Lord, if you were here, if you had moved when I said you move, none of this would have happened." And then she's acknowledging, "All right, I've come to the conclusion. We're going to make it through to the resurrection on the other side." And he says, "I am the resurrection and the life." And then look what else he says. That whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this. She saith unto him, "Yeah, Lord, I believe that thou art the Christ, the son of God, which should come into the world." Martha had to say that. Why does she have to say that? As a believer in Christ, each and every one of us needs to acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the son of God. Uh first John, I believe it's four and it might be in multiple scriptures throughout all of First John. John is telling us that you will know an unbeliever from a believer, by their fruit, but even by what they speak. Uh an unbeliever cannot say Jesus is the son of God. You will find an unbeliever say something, "Yeah, well Jesus, he was an okay guy. He was cool. He's a prophet. He did good things. That was his thing. And he did good. And uh they can't say that he's the son of God because they don't believe. And so now, you know, based on what Martha just said, she believes. So now Jesus is breaking through the barriers. First, he broke through the barriers of his disciples. He got through them to go there because they're like, "Okay, we're going to get stoned to death, but okay, we're going to go. I'm going to die with you. That's how they took it. That's how they believed. But they believed. They went. Their action was faith. They went in faith. Now he got Martha to acknowledge that he is the son of God. So he's broken down two barriers. Now let's look at the third barrier. This is very interesting. Verse 32. Then when Mary was come where Jesus was and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, "Lord, if thou hast been here, my brother had not died," she, the same as Martha, did the exam exact same thing. In fact, Martha kind of manipulated her and told her, "Jesus called for you." So, she went to Jesus, but Jesus had not called for her or it wasn't recorded in the scriptures anyways for her. But she shows up. She gets it. She's now in front of Jesus. How many believers does it take or how much time does it take for a believer to get before Christ in their need in their hour or even after the hour has passed and you're grieving? She finally gets to Jesus. She stayed back. She waited. And it was like another believer encouraged her. Go to Jesus. Just go to Jesus. Which is what we're all called to do. Go to Jesus. I point to Jesus. Everything I teach here is through the scripture and I point it to Jesus because I want you to go to Jesus. I want you to have a relationship. I would love for you to start teaching your own the scriptures of how it's taught or how you understand it. Sometimes it just takes reading it. That's all that's all that needs to take place. And here Mary finally showed up. But she did the same thing. She said, "If you had been here, my brother would not have died." So now something now Jesus responds differently. He responded with Martha because he knew where Martha's belief was. He knew that Martha had to acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the son of God. Mary has already done that. She's the one, if you read at the beginning of chapter 11, she anointed him with her hair in the house, with the perfume in the house. So now she already knows he's the son of God. He doesn't have to get her to acknowledge that cuz she's already done that. But look what happens now. When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping, which came with her, he groaned in the spirit and was troubled. Why would Jesus, who set all of this up, be troubled after seeing Mary? Because here is a believer who called Jesus the son of God and is in grief grieving because she's not recognizing the resurrection that Jesus is. And because of that, she's grieving and weeping. And he's weeping not because she was I mean it got to him but it says here look at verse 34 and said where have you laid him? Because now he's asking where is he? They said unto him Lord come and see. And Jesus wept. The anointing of the Holy Spirit is moving. When you are filled with the anointing of the Holy Spirit many many times you'll weep. Water is a form of getting into the spirit and sometimes we have to provide our own water and that is through our tears and it moves us on the inside in such a way that it causes Jesus to move too. So here you had a believer who needed to acknowledge Jesus as the son of God. That's Martha. Here you had disciples who had to acknowledge I'm willing to go to die for you which needed to happen. And now you have Mary who simply said, "If you had been here, he'd be alive." And just laying a fact of the matter down. And now here Jesus responds, "Where is he?" And he's emotionally charged. So now verse 36, "Then said the Jews, behold how he loved him." Now he's talking and getting all the people around him emotionally charged so that he can do what he wants to do needs to do now which is raise g Lazarus from the dead. Now Jesus can raise him any which way he wants. What Jesus is doing here is getting them all involved as part of the process so that he can teach us so we know what to do in the future with our faith when it grows. Amen. Verse 37. And some of them said, "Could not this man which opened the eyes of the blind have caused that even this man should not have died?" See, now everyone is emotionally charged of he didn't do the preventive part. He didn't prevent the problem from happening, which we know he did it purposely. He let it happen purposely to the glory of God. How much bigger is the testimony from him rising from the dead than him healing and taking away the sick, which he had been doing all along? You see where Jesus is going with this? He wants us to see that even unto death, he is the resurrection. He is the life and we can come back out of it and we will. And he's growing our faith. So yes, he could prevent, but now he's showing not only could I could have prevent it, but I'm going to show you when I don't prevent how much I can raise him from the dead. Hallelujah. Verse 34. and said where uh and Jesus wept and said the Jews bel uh behold he loves him. And some of them said could not this man which opened the eyes of the blind have caused that even this man should not have died. Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave and a stone laid upon it laid. Jesus said take ye away the stone. Martha the sister of him that was dead saith unto him Lord by this time he stinkketh for he hath been dead four days he had been dead four days the whole point of that four and I had talked about it before I think uh if not I'll reiterate it here the four is bringing us together God the father god the son god the holy spirit you he's making a complete image of the son of god because we complete god We're of God. We're a part of God. We are co-joined with him. Co-airs, joint hes. So, as we come together, because that's the whole point of life in general is to have a relationship with God. You're here to have a relationship with God. You're here to make the picture complete. God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, and you and the four of you work together. So, here he's got everybody together. And she says he's been dead for four days. He stinks. You know, if you remember the prodigal son, do you think stinky smells bother God? I have a feeling they don't. Why did he make some of us with a schnoz like this where it does bother? I don't know. But obviously Martha must have had a schnoz like this because I'm gonna tell you right now. Yeah. I couldn't handle the smell. She's like, "Dude, he stinks." Oh, word. Oh, Lord Jesus. So Jesus said unto her, "Said I not unto thee that if thou wouldest believe, thou should see the glory of God." Do remember this is to the glory of God. So he's telling her, "You're going to see the glory of God." Yeah. In the stink, you're going to see the glory of God. And maybe because nobody ever said that he stunk after that. She's assuming he's going to stink. I think he came out not stinking. Oh, let's read. Let's continue to read. Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, "Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me." You see, there's something about Jesus and God. Jesus says, "I'm here because of you, and I am doing exactly what you're telling me to do. So, I'm following everything you told me to do, and I know you're hearing me." Imagine having that relationship with God the Father. So much so that you can go to God. God, I know you heard me already. I know you know the c the circumstance. Remember why do we pray? Why do we pray? This is exactly here. This is I know you heard me. And meaning he's already been praying. He says, "And I knew that thou hears me always." He hears him in the groaning of the spirit, in the spoken word, in being in his presence. He hears them all the time. He says, "But because of the people which stand by, I said it that they may believe that thou hast sent me." You see, now the glory becomes apparent. The glory is that God sent the only begotten son to redeem us. And they needed to believe that. They needed to see that. We need to see that that he is our redeemer, the one who has pardoned us. Oh, hallelujah. And when he thus has spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth bound hand and foot with grave clothes, and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto him, Loose him, and let him go. I didn't hear anything in that scripture that said he stunk, so he didn't stink, but God rose him from the dead. Look what else. Verse 45. Then many of the Jews which came to Mary and had seen the things which Jesus did believed on him. But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees and told them what things Jesus has done. Sometimes no matter how great a miracle is, somebody's just not going to believe. But as you can see, this was the catalyst point in which the Jews seriously went after Jesus. You can go read further on in the chapter and the next chapter as to um the conversation they had amongst them amongst themselves so that they can go after Jesus and get him get rid of him which that was the whole point. It's to glorify God and and Lazar was a Lazarus was a part of that plan for that matter. Mary and Martha were a part of that plan. The disciples were a part of that plan. You and I here today listening and reading this event that happened in history which is a true event by the way. There's um some sayings about Lazarus and his second death rumored through the Catholic Church and other areas. You can go Google that and check it out. But I'm telling you that we're a part of the glorifying of God, the raising up of Jesus, this sending of his only begotten son through a virgin named Mary and him dying on the cross 33 years later as the Passover lamb. so that the enemy and all the condemnation that is sent against this world that is written through the law passes over all of us. We're a part of that as believers in Christ. We have we have the ability to stand up and not let death take us. And I keep saying I keep teaching on this and there's more scripture that supports us that we should be walking in the anointing and in the living word of God and not just giving up and letting the dead be dead. We can raise people from the dead. The issue is this is a generation with no faith. Well, we're the House of Faith Ministries. So, I'm teaching on faith and I'm walking in faith and I know my mom is healed from cancer because that's not the way she's going to go. She's going to go when God wants her to come home and it's going to be in peace and it will not be in pain and suffer. And by the way, she is not in any pain or suffering. She's regaining her strength right now. In fact, her hair is already growing back out and she's looking great. She's doing fantastic. That's what we're talking about. And the power of prayer. We've anointed her. We've gone and pray. I look forward to seeing her get up. And hopefully once we get her back up and out of this, maybe we can have her on here and have her share her testimony. Amen. Well, let's close in a word of prayer. And I hope you see this message and I hope that you um apply it to your lives and don't forget you have the power of the resurrection of the belief in Jesus in your hearts. Let's close in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word and we bless your word. Let it not leave our hearts. Let it penetrate. Let it keep deeping keep sinking deeply into our soul and spirit. Thank you, Father God, for your holiness. Thank you for glorifying yourself as the son of God. And Lord, we believe that you are the son of God. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen. Amen. God bless you. I'll see you in the next teaching. Bye-bye. Home Previous Next

  • WHAT A CHRISTIAN FIGHTS AGAINST - PART 1 | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)

WHAT A CHRISTIAN FIGHTS AGAINST - PART 1 The objective of this teaching is to help believers understand that the Christian battle is not against people but against spiritual forces and internal struggles that oppose God’s will. By examining Paul’s exhortation to put on the whole armor of God, this lesson emphasizes the difference between walking in the flesh and walking in the Spirit. It aims to equip Christians with a deeper awareness of principalities, powers, and spiritual wickedness, and to encourage believers to stand firm in Christ, knowing that through Him we have the authority to overcome the enemy and claim God’s promises of restoration and victory. WHAT A CHRISTIAN FIGHTS AGAINST - PART 1 Minister Lisa Kane September 24, 2025 Objective: The objective of this teaching is to help believers understand that the Christian battle is not against people but against spiritual forces and internal struggles that oppose God’s will. Synopsis: In this teaching, Minister Lisa Kane unpacks Paul’s instruction in Ephesians 6:11–12, showing that our fight as Christians is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual influences that seek to corrupt and destroy. Drawing from Galatians 5, she contrasts the destructive works of the flesh—such as envy, strife, and immorality—with the life-giving fruit of the Spirit, which believers are called to walk in daily. The lesson highlights how Christ Himself broke the “rules” of sin and death through His victory at the cross, giving us authority as joint heirs with Him. Scriptures such as John 10:10 and 1 Peter 5:8 remind us that the devil seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but he is limited and subject to God’s judgment. Believers are encouraged to bring their case before the Lord when the enemy steals from them, trusting that God will require sevenfold restoration, as promised in Proverbs 6:30–31. This first part establishes the foundation of understanding what a Christian truly fights against—spiritual powers, not people—and calls us to walk in the Spirit, live in close relationship with God, and stand in faith for His promises. Part 2 will continue with a deeper exploration of Ephesians 6:12. Inspired Teaching - Written and/or Transcribed from Video Above: Opening scripture: Ephesians 6:11-12 KJV 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. As believers in Christ, Paul tells us to put on the whole armor of God and then explains why. The first thing he notes is that we don’t fight against flesh and blood. What does that mean, especially when we see people fighting each other everyday? Paul defines this in Galatians 5:14-21 KJV 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. 16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. When we don’t operate in love by loving our neighbor as ourself, then we bite and devour one another. Paul tells us to not be consumed with that but to walk in the spirit. When we walk in the flesh, we manifest adultery, fornication, etc. We allow envy and jealousy to rule within but as believers we’re to walk in the spirit. Galatians 5:22-26 KJV 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another. Now that we understand that we’re not fighting each other but our internal influences and the influences of others, let’s continue with Ephesians 6:12 KJV 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. We fight against principalities. What are principles? According to www.dictionary.com , a principle is: noun 1. an accepted or professed rule of action or conduct. a person of good moral principles. 2. a fundamental, primary, or general law or truth from which others are derived. the principles of modern physics. So, why does Paul tell us that we fight against rules of action or conduct or the general law of truth? Are rules actually meant to be broken? Do you know that Jesus broke many rules while walking the earth? He cast out demons. He healed the sick. He walked on water. He brought the dead back to life and even rose from the dead three days after His crucifixion. Romans 6:23 KJV 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. If the wages of sin is death, shouldn’t we all die and stay dead? Isn’t that our due justice according to God’s law? And yet, Jesus tells us this rule is broken. Those that choose to believe, will have everlasting life. John 3:16 KJV 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Even Psalm 103:1-5 KJV – read the whole chapter 103 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; 4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; 5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. We’re told that He forgives and heals our diseases. We shouldn’t have these benefits and yet we do because of God’s tender mercies. Lamentations 3:22-23 KJV 22 It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. So, what does Paul mean that we fight against principalities: John 10:10 KJV 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. 1 Peter 5:8 KJV 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: We have an enemy that will do everything in his power to steal, kill, and destroy us if given the chance. Remember, the devil needs permission to do anything. Read Job 1. We have the right to break the rules just like Jesus did because we’re joint heirs with Him. Romans 8:17 KJV 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. And just like Jesus suffered, so do we. But here’s something more that Jesus promised us: Proverbs 6:30-31 NKJV 30 People do not despise a thief If he steals to satisfy himself when he is starving. 31 Yet when he is found, he must restore sevenfold; He may have to give up all the substance of his house. A thief is required to restore sevenfold. I asked chatgpt, what does sevenfold mean and this is what it provided: The word “sevenfold” means seven times as much or multiplied by seven. It can be used in different ways depending on the context: 1. General Meaning • If something increases sevenfold, it becomes seven times greater in size, number, or intensity. o Example: “Profits increased sevenfold” = profits became seven times larger. 2. Biblical / Spiritual Meaning • In the Bible, “sevenfold” often symbolizes completeness, fullness, or divine perfection, since the number seven carries special spiritual significance. • For example: o Genesis 4:15 – God says that anyone who kills Cain will suffer vengeance sevenfold (a complete and perfect retribution). o Psalm 12:6 – God’s words are described as pure, “purified seven times,” symbolizing perfect refinement. o Proverbs 24:16 – “For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again,” showing fullness of perseverance. 3. Figurative Usage • “Sevenfold” can also mean in every way or completely. o Example: “He repaid evil sevenfold” = he repaid fully, completely, and overwhelmingly. ✨ So, sevenfold means “seven times over” in the literal sense, and “full, complete, or perfect” in the symbolic/spiritual sense. So, when the devil steals your health from you, your finances from your, a loved one from you, he is required to recompense you seven times. Psalm 7:8 KJV 8 The Lord shall judge the people: judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me. You can go before the Lord and ask Him to judge you if you believe that a thief has taken something from you but be ready for that judgement. Are you in the secret place with Him as Psalm 91 says? Have you made God a relationship vs a religion? Have you sought first the kingdom of God and His righteousness first as Matthew 6:33 says? Do you know you are saved and that Jesus is the Son of God? Have you confessed Jesus as Lord, Romans 10:9? Once you are firmly minded, humble yourself before the Lord and simply tell Him that the thief took from you, and then ask Him to make the devil recompense you. Matthew 7:7 KJV 7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: Whatever you ask it shall be given. This is part 1 of understanding what a Christian fights against. We will resume next week for part 2 in Ephesians 6:12. Home Previous Next

WHO AM I AND WHY AM I HERE The objective of this message is to help believers understand their true identity and divine purpose as created in the image of God. It emphasizes that every individual is made as a representative of God, called to live in alignment with His Word, exercise dominion, and choose life and blessing over sin and deception. < Back WHO AM I AND WHY AM I HERE Minister Lisa Kane September 18, 2022 Objective: The objective of this message is to help believers understand their true identity and divine purpose as created in the image of God. It emphasizes that every individual is made as a representative of God, called to live in alignment with His Word, exercise dominion, and choose life and blessing over sin and deception. Synopsis: In Who Am I and Why Am I Here?, Lisa Kane teaches from Genesis 1:26–27, highlighting that mankind was created in the image of God not merely in outward appearance, but as His representatives on earth. The message explores how this truth answers two of life’s most fundamental questions: identity and purpose. Lisa stresses that Genesis and Revelation are the two most attacked books of the Bible because they establish our beginnings and our future. She warns against modern distortions, such as attempts to merge evolution with Scripture or redefine human identity apart from God’s design. Drawing on Psalm 139, she affirms that God knew each person from conception, recording their days, identity, and purpose in His book. The teaching moves into Genesis 2, showing how God gave Adam authority to name the animals, illustrating humanity’s dominion and representative role. Lisa explains how Satan’s jealousy of this God-given authority fueled his rebellion and deception of mankind. Yet even before the fall, God’s plan included redemption through Christ. Through passages in Isaiah and Deuteronomy, the message calls believers to recognize their role as representatives of God, with the power to bless or curse, bring peace or calamity, and to choose life over death. Lisa emphasizes that rejecting God’s design—whether in creation, gender, or moral living—leads to destruction, but embracing His truth brings fruitfulness, multiplication, and blessing. The message concludes by pointing to God’s ultimate purpose, revealed in Daniel and Revelation: to bring an end to sin, establish everlasting righteousness, and fulfill His plan of redemption. Believers are urged to live as God’s representatives now—choosing blessing, rejecting deception, and walking in peace as they await the fulfillment of God’s promises. Inspired Teaching: Hello and welcome to the House of Faith Ministries. I'm Lisa Kane and I'm recording this on Sunday, September 18th, 2022. And this message is called Who Am I and Why Am I Here? Thank you. Let's open up in a word of prayer and bless this message. Father God, we thank you for your blessing on this word. We bless it as well. Let it strengthen our mind and our hearts and let it be right above that foundation of of our rock, Jesus Christ, so that we can stand firm and know who we are, why we're here, and what we're doing because we line ourselves up with your word. Thank you, Father God. In the glorious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen. Amen. Amen. Let's go to our opening scripture here. We're going to be in Genesis 1:es 26- 27. And then God said, "Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness. Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." So God created man in his own image, in the image of God. He created him. Male and female he created them. All right, let me lay a couple of things down here just so we understand what we're looking at here because this is going to be one, it is an awesome message. When I was um rehearsing this yesterday, I was blessed just for myself and two I the last two weeks this confirmation of this message I've had confirmation after confirmation to teach this message. So I am very excited about it. Okay. So, first I'd like to tell you that the two most attacked books in the Bible is the book of Genesis and the book of Revelation. If you attend a church and you haven't had your pastor teach in either one of those books, I highly recommend that you supplement your uh church attendance with finding pastors and teachers who do teach these two books because they really lay the foundation for you again as to who you are and why you're here and then what's coming. You know, you you need to know these things and this will help you stand strong and full of joy in spite of all hell breaking loose in this world. Amen. The other part that you need to know is you've got the attack that is so prevalent in these books that they've been going on for a couple hundred years now, at least in the scientific community in relation to Genesis. because now you've got pastors teaching or trying to teach and force evolution into the book of Genesis about creation and it don't work that way. God clearly told us how he created heaven and earth. He taught us that he did six days and he rested on the seventh day. So there is no other thing that can go in here. Evolution does not fit it. And I've already taught on evolution. You can go back and look at my teachings on there. It's been debunked. Big bang theory has also been debunked. The only thing that cannot be debunked is the word of God. So you start science with the word of God. You will conclude that science lands with the word of God. And uh you know a good resource just just to lay this out here um Kenham's ministry, the creation museum, the uh arc encounter, they really really teach apologetics and they show you what the scientific community is doing. Just to give you a small example of it, uh I think it was last Monday or Tuesday, they uh one of their news segments that they brought online, it's on YouTube, it's on answers.tv, too. Anyways, they brought up an article where the scientists are coming out saying, "Well, we don't want to offend the LGBTQ community, so we're going to hold back truth so that there is no offense." Well, how can you know what truth is on science if you're going to hold it back? So, you have to get yourself wellounded in the word of God. And that is where this message is coming into. So, this is going to be very, very interesting. So, we're going to start here. As you said, as you can see, he says he he created us in his image. Okay, what does that mean? You know, I for years I've always thought of it as well, I must look like him. But look at the uniqueness of people in this world. We all look different. Even twins have a difference about them. There there's a resemblance, strong resemblance because you sometimes you can't tell them apart, especially when they're in separate rooms. But there are subtle differences. That means this doesn't mean we look like him. I mean, we probably have same as him, two arms, two legs, a head, a mouth, eyes, nose, that sort of thing. But what does it mean? So, let's go to the Hebrew, the Strong's Hebrew dictionary. So, the meaning of the word image, and it's number H6754, and the word is sele. I'm sure I did not say that right. But it means from an unused root meaning to shade a phantom that is figuratively an illusion resemblance which is what I was just talking about. Hence a representative figure especially an idol image vein shoe. Oh representative wait let's go back to that representative figure. Wait a minute. We represent God to who? Do you see a line, a dividing line in this world? Especially here in the United States, we've got a 50-50 split in the beliefs here. So there is a dividing line and one line is a representative of God and one is not. So the image portion is who we are because he made us in his image to represent him. Oh, that is so powerful. Let's go and understand this a little bit more because I want you to understand where the Lord is coming from here because you know I get it. You know, we have a generation right now that can't even identify what sex they are. They're t attacking science so much that they can't even they they don't want to say scientifically what a male and what a female is. But you know what it's funny they they keep it with animals. They're they're not telling you an animal's genderless. But man, they're attacking man. They're attacking the book of Genesis. And by the way, this is spiritual. This is the demonic entity that is pushing this ideology forward. And with our helmet of salvation, we should be able to see it and we should be able to avoid it. Amen. Okay. So, let's go further in the scripture though because I want you to see not only as a representative, but how God made you into and and identified you and wrote you down in a book. Look at this. Look at this. This is awesome. Psalm 139 13- 16. For you formed my inward parts. You covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are your works and that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in secret and skillfully rot in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance being yet unformed. And in your book they all were written the days fashioned for me when as yet there were none of them. Oh, you know, there's a couple things I need you to see here that I really want you to understand. First of all, I look at this and that my soul knows very well. Okay? You already know who you are. And what's happening is you've got a world out there that's bombarding you on the outside. And when you don't have your helmet of salvation on, you are open to being deceived. So in other words, when you don't represent God because you're not choosing God, you are s susceptible to the world's teaching and you're being deceived. You are being on the other side. So, but God had says he knew you from the very beginning. So much so that he wrote you down. Look at this in your book. They were all written. The days. So, he wrote down your number of days. He wrote down your name, what your name is going to be. And by the way, this is done at conception, not 15 weeks, 18 weeks, 21 weeks, or at birth. This is done at conception. He he even wrote down what color eyes you're going to have, what color hair you have. I'm going to tell you right now, even he is so mindful of you. He knows how much hair you have on your body at any given time because he is aware of you so much. This is how much he loves you. And this is what he did at the point of conception for you because he looked at you and said, "You're my representative." And because of that, and he gave us free will, so we get to go choose to accept or reject who we are. Now, I'm going to tell you right now in judgment day, if you think you're genderless or you think you're not a male and you're a female or you identify as a male and not a female, I'm gonna tell you right now, God is going to identify you as who he made you. Simple as that. Amen. That's just the reality of it. So, let's look at a little bit more of who we are and why we're here because Genesis answers it and we're going to see how this pulls together. Watch this. So, Genesis uh chapter 2. Okay, so you know what? Before I get into the scripture, I want you to understand something. Genesis chapter 1 and 2, I think in my personal opinion, are the most attacked chapters in the entire book of the Bible or the cannon of the Bible. And the reason being is if you go and Google Adam and Eve, you will find that there's like two Adams, two Evees, because they did not understand what the scriptures were saying is because nobody sat down and read the two chapters and understood it. You got to sit down with the Holy Spirit when you read the Bible. You have got when you spend time with the Lord in the secret place, you pray first and you say, "God, I I want my mind to be in the right place." So you're asking the Holy Spirit to come in and as you read the scripture, he is giving you understanding. Okay. So what is it about Genesis 1 and 2 that is so attacked? Well, they think there's two Adams and two Evees because in chapter one he said what the scripture we read earlier that he made man in his own image, male and female. And then in chapter two, we're going to see some scripture here where Eve is not around. And then you find that she is formed from Adam's rib. So what happened? What is the difference between the two chapters? Well, let's read chapter 2 verses 1-5 and the first part of five. Thus the heavens and the earth and all the host of them were finished. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had done and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it because it is in it he rested from all his work which God created and made. This is the history of the heavens and the earth when they were created in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens. Look at the key word here. Before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. Okay. You can I in all reality chapter one should have ended right there. It didn't. You know, they break the chapters and the verses up based on what they saw at the time, what you know, the the historians and the those that wrote the Bible. This is how because it wasn't written in chapters and verses. It was written all as one. And later on it was uh workers for God who was separating this to make it um so you can find scriptures easily and stuff like that. That's what this was. So this could have ended chapter one. So chapter one is an entire planning phase or he made the construct of the earth before plants before herbs before anything grew. He made the construct. So, and you can always picture it like this. He's in his workshop. He's got a table there, a desk, whatever, and a bench, whatever. And he's got his blueprints out. Or you can even go to a 3D level and say, "Well, here's my bowl of water. That's going to be earth or water, uh, the oceans. Then he's got the bowl of earth. That's going to be the earth. Here's some trees, plants. This is what I'm going to do. These are the seeds for it. These are the animals. This is I'm going to make a man and a woman." That's the entire planning stage. And then chapter two goes into the actionable stage. And that is what's so awesome here. Okay. So now what I want you to see because I want you to understand how God he he made us this representative in his image. What he decided to do to work his image and how good and perfect his image is. because now you're going to see it in action. Now, Adam is placed into the garden. Now, again, I'm not reading all these scriptures for you. I encourage you to sit down, read them for yourself. Don't take a preacher's word for it. I I'm serious. You and the Holy Spirit are going to get more out of it than any. I just happen to love sharing the word of God, and this is why I do this. But I also don't want to spoon feed you. But I want to point you in the right direction, okay? which is to God, to the Holy Spirit. That's my job. That's what I'm doing. So, let's take a look at Adam here and what God did, his first task for Adam. Watch this. So, in Genesis chapter 2, so we're still in chapter 2, but now we're in verses 19 and 20. Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. So, Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam, there was not found a helper comparable to him. Okay? So, Eve is not in the picture yet. So, God makes Adam. He makes all the beast and he he brings all these beasts and he says to Adam, "Go ahead and name them." Why would God do this? There is so much mystery in this scripture alone. This is another reason why this is so attacked. Do you even know why the devil went after Eve? No, you don't. Do you ever hear a teaching on that? No, you don't. I've taught on it a couple times now. And it has to do with this point in time. Think of it like this. Look at the relationship building up here. So God made Adam in his image. There's no sin yet. S this is perfect. This ear, this world here is watered by a mist. There's no rain. That means the weather never changes. There's no seasons. It is the sun goes up, the sun goes down. You don't age. Romans 6:23 says the wages of sin is death. There's no death here. Meaning nothing is eating another animal. So all these animals walk up to Adam. There is no evil intent, fear or anything there. You get this? And Adam is made in God's image, not by look, but by representative. He gave Adam the authority over these creatures because he's now the representative of God over this world. This is our dominion. This was our purpose. So, as God and Adam build a relationship up, Ezekiel tells you that the devil is in the serpent watching things taking place. Now, the way Ezekiel's worded, theologians think it's, oh, well, this confirms that the serpent or the devil was in the serpent when he talked to Eve. Well, remember Eve is not in the picture yet. So, the serpent's there and Adam named him. So that means Lucifer is right there watching and he's getting appalled. He's upset. He's seeing God with this what looks like God because he's you see man is a phantom representative. He he saw the dominion given to man and he is mad because he's thinking, "Oh, I'm perfect. I'm beautiful. I should have that. I should have it all. In fact, God, I know you created me. But you know what? I deny that. I don't recognize that. You see this ideology here? In fact, you're supposed to worship me. Come worship me. That's how the devil is thinking. And that's the moment is right here in this scripture in this moment in time. The seedthing anger is boiling up. And in fact, here's another thing. If you read the book of Enoch, it talks about the angels smelling the humans and not liking the smell at all. So, you've got the devil here who who's looking at this infallible stinky creature made of flesh and blood that looks like could look like God. You know, he's in denial. He's angry. He's hating it. And yet, God gave us Dominion. Do you see what God has done for us? And that's just the tip of the iceberg. It's not talking about the redemption because the devil kind of said to God in his mind and maybe he had a conversation with God. It's not recorded in scripture, but he simply said, "You know what, God? I'm going to fool these people. I'm going to deceive them. I'm going to show you how stupid they are." And by the way, he was successful. But God had already built that into his plan. Look at the plan back in chapter one. Remember this is the blueprint, the planning stage. Chapter 1 verse 27 28. So God created man in his own image. In the image of God he created him male and female he created them. That's what I read earlier. Now look at this. Then God blessed them. And God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth." So before even Lucifer came into the picture, God already planned to give his image, his representative dominion over this earth. Oh hallelujah. Hallelujah. That is incredible. Okay. So now let's take a look at this a little further because I want you to understand now if you are a representative of God, the next question you need to be asking yourself, well then who is God? Who is this guy that gave us this kind of dominion? Look at this. Isaiah 45:6 and 7 that they may know from the right. Okay, just to lay a foundation here. This God is talking to Cyrus. Isaiah is writing this and this is something like 400 years earlier and I'm not 100% certain of the years. So Cyrus is going to come in and evade Israel. And this is a true story. The priest came out, pulled the section of Isaiah and started reading it to Cyrus, King Cyrus. And God is talking to King Cyrus that was written hundreds of years before. Look what he says to Cyrus, which is applicable to you and I. So we know who God is. Says that they may know from the rising of the sun to its setting that there is none besides me. And notice the rising of the sun or the setting. God is pointing back to Genesis to the planning stage when he put things and he made his construct and he put it in place where the sun went up the sun went or you know the earth rotated around. Look at he how he's pointing back to says there is none besides me. I am the Lord and there is no other. I form the light and create darkness. I make peace and create calamity. I the Lord do all these things. If we're in his image and we're the representative of him, should we be doing that? Wait, but you are. Wait, you don't even realize you're doing it. You want to know? You let sin in. You could have shut the door to sin and you could have a blessed life if you would choose to bless it and put God first. You do that. And I promise you, and I've got scripture to prove it here that we will show you, that you put God first and you get rid of that sin, you take care of yourself, you're blessed. Now, look at further what he says here in Isaiah, further down in the chapter, because this is what people do about God. Watch this. Woe to him who strives with his maker. Okay, we know that man fights God. They don't want a God because then they have to acknowledge their sin. That's one of the major attacks of the book of Genesis is that you have to acknowledge the fall of man that we got sucker punched by the devil and we fell. Well, here we are. We are representative. And if God has the ability to make light, darkness, peace, and calamity, we're in his image. We're the representative of it. We can choose him and live it. Now, look what he does here. Says, "Let the posturard strive with the posturds of the earth. And shall the clay say to him who forms it, what are you making? Or shall your handiwork say, he has no hands?" How dare you say I'm genderless? Seriously, how dare you say I recognize myself as a man or a woman and not what you were born as? How dare you strive with God? That's Satan. And you're letting him get in. But you are a representative of God. And as a representative, you should be making peace, not calamity. And because you're saying that you identify a certain way, you are causing calamity. You're a representative of God. He gave you that authority to do that. And when you're not doing this, you got a problem. Let's go to Deuteronomy. Look what happens here. Again, he's talking to Israel, but this is so applicable to you and I today. Look at this. Deuteronomy 30. We're going to read verses 15 through 20. See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, and that I command you today to love the Lord your God. Now, there's the issue right there. You ain't loving the God because you don't love yourself. You're you're saying, "I'm not a man or a woman or I'm ugly as this." God made you perfect. He called you good and he blessed you to be fruitful and to multiply. By the way, you notice gay can't be fruitful and multiply. That breaks the commandment against what God asked us to do. So why are we here to be fruitful and to multiply? But if you go all if everybody goes gay, we die. The whole generation of the whole world dies. That means we cannot do that. That's why God calls it an abomination. Let's continue on here. Look at what he says. Love the Lord your God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments, his statutes, and his judgments that you may live and multiply. You see, this is what he asked you to do from the this is what he said. This, you're my representative. You are in my image. I bless you to live, to be fruitful, and to multiply. And here he's reaffirming it. And the Lord your God will bless you in the land you go to possess. So, wherever you go, he's going to do that. But if your heart turns away, oh, you see now if you're identifying as the opposite of whoever you're supposed to be or you say, you know what, God, you're not for me cuz we have different I I believe differently. Look what happens to you when you reject God so that you do not hear. But if your heart turns away so that you do not hear and are drawn away and worship other gods and serve them, Hollywood, the other kings and queens, things you like more than God, I announce to you today, this is God talking, that you shall surely perish. You shall not prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to go in and possess. And I'm trying to get the scripture to move. I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you that I have set before you life and death. See, this is set before you. This is your responsibility. You get to choose because you are a representative of God. And this is why you're here. Look at that. He says, "I set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore, choose life that you both you and your descendants may live." Oh my goodness. You get to bless. You get to curse. So which one are you going to do? See, God made you perfect because you represent him. He had to make you good. He had to. The problem is is the devil came in. But God made an answer to that. This is why he redeemed us. And not only did he redeem us, he has a purpose now. So we have now we know why we're here. We know who we are. We're a representative co of God that we can bless. We can curse. We can cause calamity. We can cause peace. We also know we have a purpose to bless so we can have long life to be fruitful and multiply. Now look at God's purpose. Oh my word. This is awesome. Daniel 9:24, 70 weeks are determined for your people and for your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sins, to make reconciliation for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy. He's bringing it all to an end, my friend. everything about sin, iniquity, he's going to reconcile the whole thing. So when we go to our heavenly life, whether we're in the presence of God or in uh hell, that is what God's purpose is. And it is to complete everything, to bring it to an end. Which means as a representative of God, you are on that same path. So your purpose is to bless, reduce sin, make it less in your life and cause peace, not calamity. So that the purpose of God comes to the end which we see happening now. Matthew 24, Luke 21, Mark 13 being revealed right now. That is prophecy being fulfilled at this very moment in our lives. And if you read the book of Revelation, you're going to find that the devil's going to be thrown in the lake of fire. Now, people who reject God, you know what? You know, you say he's not for me or you know that that it's your choice. You get to choose that. There's only another place you can go that is not in the presence of God. That's hell. So, it's up to you where you want to go. But I'm going to tell you, hell is not pleasant. It will not be pleasant. It is going to burn. It is going to hurt. And it will be perpetual for an eternity. And I don't wish that on anybody. So, even though there are people I dislike, I don't get along with, or I they attack me, and I know it's the devil behind the scenes, and I'm in my last message, I'm making atonement for them because I'm trying to bring peace to the land, doing my part as I am, a representative of the most high because he made me in his image. He is going to bring an end to sin. So you can stop sinning now and you can just start repenting and repenting and repenting. Job did it all the time. Did it for his kids. Do it for yourself. Do it for your family. Do it for your co-workers. Do it for your area that you are responsible for, which is what I was teaching the last time I taught two weeks ago. So I encourage you to bless because you are a representative of Christ and you have the right to cause blessings or calamities. And you know what? Don't live the life of drama. Enjoy the peace while we can still do it because who knows how long this is going to be. Amen. Let's close in a word of prayer. Father God, we bless this message again and we thank you for your blessing on it. Let us have the strength to bless and not curse. Let us have the strength to represent who you are and to show the world that you are, God, and that you are in control and that we represent you properly because you called us good. And thank you, Father God, for redeeming us and bringing us back to your presence and saving us and for your purpose of bringing an end to sins. Thank you, Lord. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen. Well, God bless each and every one of you and I will see you in the next message. Bye-bye. Previous Next Home

  • THE END OF THE AGE | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)

THE END OF THE AGE The objective of The End of the Age is to equip believers with a biblical understanding of Paul’s teaching in 1 Corinthians 10:11–12 concerning the overlapping dispensations at the close of time. It aims to prepare Christians to discern prophetic events, resist idolatry, recognize the true Christ, and remain steadfast in faith during perilous days leading up to the rapture, the tribulation, and ultimately the return of Jesus Christ. THE END OF THE AGE Pastor Marcos Marrero Objective: The objective of The End of the Age is to equip believers with a biblical understanding of Paul’s teaching in 1 Corinthians 10:11–12 concerning the overlapping dispensations at the close of time. It aims to prepare Christians to discern prophetic events, resist idolatry, recognize the true Christ, and remain steadfast in faith during perilous days leading up to the rapture, the tribulation, and ultimately the return of Jesus Christ. Synopsis: This teaching explores Paul’s declaration that the church is living in the period of the “ends of the ages,” emphasizing both the peril facing believers and the prophetic timetable that unfolds in Scripture. The study explains that three dispensations—Law (Israel), Human Government (the United Nations), and Grace (the true Church)—are running concurrently in these last days. While Christ has authorized the Church to spread His kingdom message, the rebirth of Israel and the rise of global governance signal the approach of the final prophetic age. Following the rapture, God will reestablish Israel and His Law as the governing authority, confirmed by the ministry of the Two Witnesses who enforce His will for 1,260 days before being killed by the antichrist. The antichrist will then assume global power through the nations, deceiving the world, and leading many to receive his mark. His rule will last 1,332 days, culminating in God’s judgment, his destruction, and the triumph of Christ’s return. Survivors—primarily a Jewish remnant and those who refuse the mark—will emerge into Christ’s millennial reign. The teaching also stresses Paul’s warning: “Let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.” Idolatry and false Christs will deceive many, making discernment and firm grounding in God’s Word essential. Believers are urged not to neglect the Book of Revelation or prophecy, for Jesus promised blessing to those who read, hear, and keep its words. Ultimately, The End of the Age challenges Christians to examine whether their faith is built on the traditions of men or the true Christ, so that they may stand unshaken when He is revealed in glory. Inspired Teaching: 1 Corinthians 10:11-12 “Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.” Two extremely important points are made by Paul in this portion of Scripture. One being that the church will witness the ends of the ages, notice that is in plural, and the second point is that this period of time will be a perilous time for the children of faith. Why is it that Paul calls it the end of the ages, since we know that the church age will end with the rapture. What other ages is he talking about? In my book Man’s Final Destiny I deal with this in great detail, but here is the basics of it: There are three dispensations that are running right now concurrently: the dispensation of Law represented by the nation of Israel, the dispensation of Human Government represented by the United Nations, and of course the dispensation of Grace represented by the true Church of Jesus Christ. It is worth noting here that right now God only recognizes the true Church of Jesus Christ as the legitimate power authorized by Him to rule over the affairs of men as recorded by Matthew. Matthew 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age (the church age).” Amen. After Jesus commanded His disciples to preach the Gospel to the nations of the world, the disciples went out and eventually transformed the world. The doctrine that they preached that changed the nations of the world was known as Judeo Christian principles or values. In the middle of the twentieth century, we saw the rebirth of the nation of Israel and the reunification of the nations of the world in the entity we know today as the United Nations, therefore setting the stage for the fulfillment of our opening text on the last generation: Upon whom the ends of the ages have come. As we follow the chronology given to us in the book of Revelation we find that after the true church is removed in the rapture, that the Lord will set up the nation of Israel and the Law of Moses as the legitimate power here on earth to enforce His will upon the nations of the world. The Two Witnesses, two humans that come from outer space as far as the world’s perspective is concern will be empowered by God to enforce the rule of God’s Law over the nations of the world for 1,260 days. The world will reject them as they have rejected the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. Then they will make war against the Two Witnesses, and after the days of their prophecy ends they will be killed by the antichrist which will then become the representative of the nations of the world. It will be upon the antichrist and all his followers that have taken his mark that God will bring His final judgment when He judges the kingdoms of this world, or what we know today as the United Nations. The antichrist will rule for 1,290 days before God begins His judgment against him. The judgment upon his governance will last for forty two days, so that he will rule for a total of 1,332 days. 1,290 + 42 = 1,332 / 2 = 666 After 1,332 days he is captured alive, along with the false prophet, and they are both thrown alive into the Lake of Fire, while the rest of humanity who have the mark of the beast will be killed. This will bring about the conclusion of the ages as Jesus returns to the earth and in three days sets up His one thousand years Day of Rest. Hosea 6:2 “After two days He will revive us; on the third day He will raise us up, that we may live in His sight.” Daniel 12:11-12 “And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away (the antichrist begins his rule), and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty five-days.” 1,290 + 42 = 1,332 + 3 = 1,335 days. Those who do not receive the mark of the beast and survive the antichrist’s ordeal will come out of their hiding places on the third day after the antichrist’s demise. This will be mainly the Jewish remnant that God protects in secret caves while the rule of the antichrist plays out, along with those that somehow survive the antichrist’s regime without taking the mark or being killed. So that understanding how everything is proceeding as it relates to prophecy is vital for us, so that we can be prepared and ready when His unveiling finally begins. But what about the other warning that Paul gave us in our opening text? Therefore, let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall! 1 Corinthians 10:14 “Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.” It seems odd at first that a warning against idolatry would be issued in relation with the return of our Lord to set up His kingdom. Matthew 24:5,11 “For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many...Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.” But as we read about Jesus warning us about false Christ’s and false prophets during the end of the ages we can understand why. Idolatry offers a false Christ and those who follow a false Christ will not be raptured, for they will not recognize the real Jesus when He is revealed. The world will present the return of Jesus as some malevolent alien coming to harm us. Therefore, those believers that fail to recognize the real Jesus will have to earn their salvation as martyr’s during the days of wrath. 1 Corinthians 10:19-20 “What am I saying then? That an idol is anything, or what is offered to idols is anything? Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons.” So that as the end of the ages comes upon us, since we now know that we are in the last generation, it is imperative for us to know whether the traditions that we are following have a solid biblical foundation or whether they originate from the traditions of men. In other words, will you recognize the real Jesus when He is revealed? Jesus warned us against not just false Christ’s but also against false prophets, that is people who proclaim to preach the real Jesus but in reality they are not, for Jesus told us that they will deceive many. Matthew 7:15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.” One of the greatest lies that many well-meaning preachers follow today is that since the book of Revelation is difficult to understand and since there are many different interpretations, they rather not preach on it, for it will bring divisions within the church by offending others who do not agree with their particular interpretation. They rather not preach about it and deprive the rest of the congregation of their readiness to meet Jesus when He is finally revealed. Imagine what would happen if you would use that same criterion about any other subject matter in the Bible? Since you cannot not preach on anything that the Bible teaches without offending someone else! Matthew 24:10 “And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.” But Jesus warned us about that as well! Revelation 1:3 “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.” I was one of those who got frustrated because I could not understand the Book of Revelation. I knew that I was missing out of a big blessing and did not want to live my Christian life in ignorance of the most important prophesied event that could take place during my lifetime here on earth: the return of Christ. All it took was one simple humbled prayer and continuous persevering in reading and studying prophecy and God took care of the rest. Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” How much is it worth it to you to know about the times and the seasons so that you may be ready when Jesus appears? How much is it worth it to you to find out whether you are serving the real Jesus or whether you are following man-made traditions? As you read this, know that there are many Christians all around the world right now facing what to them are insurmountable circumstances. Many have lost their homes to religious persecution. Others have lost their churches to the same. Others are fleeing for their lives as we speak, and many are in dark dungeons and filthy prisons refusing to deny their Lord who saved them. There are no guarantees against us being next, for the passion of the workers of iniquity runs deep, and they will not rest until they silence us and destroy what we believe. So, we better make sure that what we believe does not rest on the fallacies of men, but let our faith rest on the solid foundation of the Word of God and His promises to us. For those who try to destroy the Word and what it promises are themselves destroyed by the fire of God’s jealousy to fulfill all that He promised! Jeremiah 23:29 “Is not My word like a fire? says the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks the rocks in pieces?” Previous Next Home

The Shadow of Evil To reveal the biblical mystery of evil—its origin, purpose, and end—within God’s plan of grace, showing how Christ’s redemptive work assures believers of victory over darkness. The Shadow of Evil Pastor Marcos Marrero October 9, 2023 The Shadow of Evil Objective: To reveal the biblical mystery of evil—its origin, purpose, and end—within God’s plan of grace, showing how Christ’s redemptive work assures believers of victory over darkness. Synopsis: In The Shadow of Evil, Pastor Marcos Marrero explores one of Scripture’s deepest mysteries—the origin, nature, and ultimate defeat of evil. Drawing from both Old and New Testament passages, he presents evil as a shadow: the antitype and opposite of God’s goodness. From the rebellion of Lucifer, through the curse of the law, to the rise of the Antichrist, Pastor Marcos traces how this shadow has taken form in creation and history. The book explains God’s redemptive purpose in allowing evil to manifest so that it could be fully exposed, judged, and defeated through Jesus Christ. Pastor Marcos shows how humanity, created in God’s image, plays a central role in this cosmic struggle. He emphasizes Christ’s atoning sacrifice as the antidote to sin and death, a victory that will culminate in the binding of Satan, the thousand-year reign of Christ, and the eternal glory of the New Jerusalem. Rich with biblical references and prophetic insight, The Shadow of Evil is both a theological study and a call to recognize God’s purpose and grace revealed “before time began.” It assures readers that while the shadow of evil is real, its days are numbered, and God’s eternal light will triumph forever. Sample first pages of the Book/Manual: Introduction: 2 Timothy 1:9 "Who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began." (Bold and italicized added for emphasis) Before time began means that before God created our universe, He not only had a purpose for creating it—which had been hidden from us—but within that purpose was also intricately hidden the mystery of grace, and both were destined to be revealed to us in Christ Jesus. Romans 16:25 "Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret (hidden) since the world began." (Words in parenthesis and italicized are added by me unless otherwise noted.) I believe this mystery to be the revelation of the purpose behind the creation which is two-fold, God's purpose and grace. Now we who presently know God's mercy and have tasted of the sweet nectar of God's grace toward us, in the salvation that we now enjoy in Jesus, have also been given the privilege to know the hidden purpose behind the creation in which we now exist. Romans 11:33 "Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God (God's purpose and grace)! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!" It is with confidence in the abilities given to us by the Holy Spirit through the power of His grace that works within us that we now endeavor in searching out what God's real purpose was behind the creation of our universe, and how grace was the bulwark that sustained that purpose. Daniel 2:22 "He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him." I believe the key that unravels the mystery behind the purpose for creation lies in understanding the meaning of darkness and its interaction with light. We could also call it the struggle between good and evil. In either case, the true revelation of the mystery behind God’s creation can only bring glory to God and to Jesus Christ, who is the manifestation of God's grace, through whom also the abilities to reveal such secrets is given to us. Daniel 2:47 "…'Truly your God is the God of gods, the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, since you could reveal this secret.'" Chapter One: The Shadow Psalm 91:1 "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." So many things within our physical realm serve as types of spiritual truths: Water Baptism, Holy Communion, and Holy Matrimony, which must be between a man and a woman in order to preserve its significance, all serve as symbols of great spiritual truths. I believe shadows to be a great metaphor—if not the greatest—for explaining the purpose behind the creation of our universe. For it is only within the physical and visible parts of our universe that shadows are cast, since without a physical figure exposed to the light in three-dimensional space the shadows cannot reveal their silhouettes. 2 Corinthians 4:18 "While we do not look at the things which are seen (the things that cast shadows), but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary but the things which are not seen are eternal (there will be no shadows in the future eternity, for our eternal physical bodies will have flesh and bones animated by pure energy)." Since Paul admonishes us, regarding the interactions between the physical and the spiritual, to put our emphasis on those things which are spiritual—the things which cast no shadows—then let us ask this question: What spiritual type does a shadow represents? Within our natural understanding, our shadow is but a silhouette of our physique; from the general perspective a shadow/shade can be a shelter from the hot bright sun, or as in the Psalm above metaphorically speaking, a shadow can be seen as a covering of protection that God Himself provides for those who dwell in the secret place revealed to us in God's amazing grace! But there is a greater mystery revealed to us in Psalm 91 if we look closely; God is Spirit, and spirits cannot cast shadows for they are in essence energy—energy manifests itself as light which casts no shadows—so we must interpret the phrase, the shadow of the Almighty metaphorically of course. But just like the Light of God casts a good metaphorical shadow of protection, a shadow can also be interpreted as an opposite or a negative of what the real thing embodies. It is the same with God's goodness, which casts a metaphorical shadow which represents the opposite or a negative of the reality it mimics. You see, God is God, but He is also Good—as a matter of fact, the only One who is Good—that means that in the presence of Good, the opposite of Good—Evil—has to exist as a contrast, like a lurking shadow which has no entity; and since we know that the antitype of Good is Evil, the shadow represents the opposite of all that is Good, which is what Evil is: a shadow or opposite of God's goodness. Mark 10:18 "So Jesus said to him, 'Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.'" After being called "Good Teacher" by someone who was seeking salvation, Jesus makes the point to the seeker that if he is going to call Him Good, he is calling Him God also, since only God is good. Jesus seems to be going out of His way to make this point to us. Why is the fact that only God is Good so important? In order to know the importance of this question, we must ask another question first; Does Evil exist only here, part of our present creation, or did Evil exist before God created the universe, way back in infinity time or the time before time began? We can establish by reading the Scriptures that Evil took on essence when iniquity was found in Lucifer whose name means light bearer, who up to that moment was good and perfect; since he had been created in the image of God, like the rest of the angels and archangels. But we know that his nature was changed immediately from light-bearer to devil after he rebelled and was instantly removed from the Kingdom of the Heavenly Lights. Devil means the personal supreme spirit of evil. He also became Satan which means adversary or opposite; that means that Lucifer became Satan, the shadow or opposite of all that is Good, which is God. But the very fact is that Evil had to exist in some type, without essence of course, before the fall of Lucifer for Lucifer to be able to turn to it and become the essence of it. That brings us to what I call The Shadow of Evil. Way back in infinity time—before the creation took place—God, who is Good and has always been Good and is the only Good; outside of God, Evil had to exist but only in principle, due to the fact that the very goodness of God, which is the essence of God Himself, necessitated the existence of Evil, outside of God, to exist in principle; in order to affirm that goodness is Good and that Evil is bad, by the presence of the antitype—the shadow—which represented the very existence of Evil itself, yet without essence or form. God is infinite and He dwells in an infinity which is and will always remain undefiled, even by the mere presence of Evil. So that Evil could only exist as a metaphorical shadow that was cast by the Light of God's goodness, but existed only in principle, without essence or form. In other words, how can only God be Good if there is no antitype or contrast to His goodness? How can we be called physical humans if we do not cast shadows when exposed to the light? Angels are made of light/energy, they do not cast shadows. How can God be the only Good if there is no opposite or antitype to His goodness that defines what goodness is not? This brings us to the first part of His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began. What was God's real purpose for the creation of our universe? Following the premise that I've just laid out, and employing our knowledge of God's character and virtue, it would have been impossible for God to create creatures that embodied the goodness and sovereignty of God in infinity time, without risking the corruption of infinity time itself. Here is what I mean, let's say that God creates the same angels that He created when He created our universe, but let us place them in infinity time before God created our universe. Since Evil had no essence back then, none of the angels could have known what Evil was. They would only have knowledge of the goodness of God, but since God created them after His own image which includes God’s sovereignty, at some point in time, one or some of these good angels might venture to test the boundaries of their existence and come to the flawed conclusion that there is goodness everywhere, believing therefore that they could be good without God. That flawed thinking is what brought Lucifer down, and the many that followed him. Isaiah 14:12-15 "How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: 'I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars (the angelic class that God created) of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.' Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the pit." No one can be like God on their own for only God is Good; that means that anyone outside of God and without God becomes the opposite of what God is. The shadow which represented the fullness and sum of all that is called Evil, in an instant indwelled Lucifer, the entity who dared to claim to be like God, and by so doing became the host of Evil and the antitype of all that God is.
