COMPROMISE The objective of this teaching is to expose the destructive impact of compromise in the believer’s walk with God. Pastor Marcos aims to reveal how false teachers, through covetousness and deceptive doctrines, pervert the Word of Truth in order to weaken the faith of the church. The goal is to strengthen believers with the knowledge of God’s uncompromised Word so they may walk in spiritual authority, persevere against deception, and live as faithful priests and kings under Christ. COMPROMISE Pastor Marcos Marrero January 1, 1900 Objective: The objective of this teaching is to expose the destructive impact of compromise in the believer’s walk with God. Synopsis: In Compromise, Pastor Marcos confronts the danger of false teachers who infiltrate the church with deceptive doctrines that weaken the faith of God’s people. Drawing from 2 Peter, he explains how Satan seeks to undermine the dual authority Christ has given His church—authority over both the spiritual and physical realms—by corrupting the Word of God and luring believers into selfish desires and covetousness. The lesson emphasizes that faith comes only through hearing the uncompromised Word of God, and when believers compromise that truth, their spiritual authority is disarmed. Pastor Marcos outlines Peter’s instructions for fortifying faith: adding virtue (valor), knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love. By standing on truth with courage and rejecting self-serving ambitions, believers strengthen their shield of faith, overcome deception, and shine as lights in a darkened world. Ultimately, Pastor Marcos reminds us that we are called to reign as kings by first serving faithfully as priests. Living in uncompromised obedience to God’s Word ensures that our authority remains intact, enabling us to trample serpents and scorpions, expose the works of darkness, and minister the saving light of Christ to others. Inspired Teaching: 2 Peter 2:1 “But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.” In our last deliverance lesson, Kings and Priests, I taught about the separation of powers that God ordained for mankind after the flood, and how Jesus has restored to us—His church—the ability to exercise His authority in both the spiritual and the physical realms. Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions (demonic spiritual entities), and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Matthew 21:21 “So Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain (which is in the physical realm), “Be removed and be cast into the sea,” it will be done.’” The key to this power is the faith which comes by hearing, and the hearing of the uncompromised Word of God. Romans 10:17 “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Now you can see how important our opening text is, in relation to the power that has been given to the church. There will be false teachers among you. Peter is telling us that false teachers will come and pervert the Word of Truth that has empowered us, so that our faith is disarmed to the point that it becomes ineffective. 2 Peter 2:2 “And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed (or perverted).” We can see a mechanism here that begins to emerge. The devil knows that our Lord has given to us authority over him and over his demonic hordes. He can also see that our Lord has given to us authority over the physical realm as well; so how does he stop us from deploying our faith for the purpose of destroying his kingdom? Since the key is, that our faith comes through us hearing the Word of God, the devil’s aim is, to disarm our faith by perverting the Word of Truth that we have been taught to believe in; which are the great and precious promises that have been given to us. 2 Peter 1:3 “As (or according to) His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness (physical and spiritual), through the knowledge of Him (we know Him through the hearing of His uncompromised Word) who called us by glory and virtue.” False teachers among you who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, for the purpose of separating us from the promises in the Word of God that pertain to the dual power that has been given to us in God’s Word. 2 Peter 1:4 “By which has been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature (which allows us to exercise authority over both, the physical and the spiritual realms), having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” What is the key element that the enemy uses in order to detach us from the great and precious promises that empower us? Compromising the Word of Truth for the sake of selfish ambitions! 2 Peter 2:3 “By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.” Our power is exploited through deceptive words that appeal to our physical nature and its natural desires, thereby separating us from the spiritual mind set—which is the mind of Christ—to where we become physically minded and forego our spiritual responsibilities, which are to trample on serpents and scorpions by exercising our dual authority over all the power of the enemy. Romans 8:5-7 “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death (no power), but to be spiritually minded is life and peace (power in both the physical and the spiritual realms). Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.” How do we get delivered from the negative effects on our faith, that all the deceptive words that we have been exposed to through the doctrines of false teachers that are in the ministry for self-gain, have caused us? 2 Peter 1:5 “But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge.” Peter, well aware of the tactics of the devil, begins to instruct us as to how we can prevent, and also how to be delivered, from the damage that false doctrines can bring to our faith in the Word of Truth. Giving all diligence means this is a top priority, we must not take this lightly. A weak or compromised faith not only weakens our authority over the enemy, but it also lowers our covering shield that protects us. It may surprise you to know that the word virtue used by Peter as something that we need to add to our faith, means manliness, (valor). How do we add manliness, or valor, or courage to our faith? Knowledge is what adds virtue or manliness to our faith! What type of knowledge adds virtue or manliness to our faith? John 8:32 “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Is this not obvious to all? If belief in the perverted or compromised Word of God weakens our faith, wouldn't belief in the true and uncompromised Word of God add to our faith the strength and manliness that it needs? 2 Peter 1:6 “To knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness.” We cannot exercise control over something that we do not know or understand. Knowledge is what motivates us into exercising control over that which we know to be wrong and that we know is weakening us. Once we know the factual truth that our faith is purposely weaken by false teachers who teach perverted doctrines, we can add virtue or manliness to our faith, by courageously turning away from their demonic doctrines that we know are hurting us, thereby acting in self-control. False teachers are not going to vanish just because we find out about their false doctrines. False demonic doctrines permeate all facets of life, these false doctrines will continue with their allure for us to compromise our faith, especially in the face of the resistance and opposition that this corrupt world system continuously hurdles against our stand for the Truth of the Word of God. That is why perseverance is required of us, and what motivates us into maintaining our perseverance, is our desire for a godly life that pleases God, as we continuously walk in the self-control that is guided by the knowledge that strengthens and adds virtue/manliness to our faith. 2 Peter 1:7 “To godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.” We fulfill the Law of God, when we love God with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strength, and when we love our neighbors as we love ourselves. Now, think about it? Since selfish desires or covetousness, are the allure that the devil uses against us; if we operate under the law of love and brotherly kindness—by putting the needs of others first—we insulate ourselves from the need to compromise that will lead us into accepting the perverted doctrines that weaken our faith in the Word of God. Philippians 2:3-4 “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better that himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” This is the mind of Christ—and as long as we operate within the mind of Christ, we do not compromise the power and authority that our Lord has given to us to use on behalf of others, for their benefit, as well as ours. 2 Peter 1:8 “For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” There is a proper flow to this authority that has been given to us in our call as kings and priests to Christ—a flow that we do well to heed if we want to be effective in administering this dual power that has been vested in us. 2 Peter 1:19 “And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.” Since Jesus is our example, let us look at the ministry of Jesus and how He handled the physical and spiritual authority that was given to Him, as King of kings over all physical matter, and as our High Priest over all spiritual hierarchies. John 3:17 “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” The simplest way to put it is this, before we can rule as kings on this earth, we need to serve as priests of the Most High God. We are not to call for the destruction of our human enemies, but for their salvation. And the weapon that we are to implement on their behalf, for their deliverance from the forces of darkness that keeps them blind, is the uncompromised Word of God that shines as a light in a dark place. The Word of God is like a double edge sword, as we wield it without compromise; it shines as a light that not only delivers us personally from the allures of this world system, but it shines through us into the world, and convicts and exposes the darkness that has befallen all who have fallen for the worldly desires that binds them. And through our uncompromising stand for the Word of God it gives them hope. Psalm 18:28 “For You will light my lamp; the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.” Isaiah 9:2 “The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a light has shined.” We are the light of the world; and the light that we are to radiate can only come through the uncompromised Word of God that we live daily for all to see. Here is a true saying: If we live as priests we will reign as kings. Previous Next Home
- THE END OF DAYS | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)
THE END OF DAYS To help believers understand the biblical perspective of the end of days by reflecting on both personal mortality and God’s ultimate judgment on the nations. The lesson aims to awaken spiritual sensitivity to the frailty of human life, the urgency of repentance, and the necessity of seeking God’s mercy in the midst of His wrath, so that we may be prepared for our individual end and the final culmination of history. THE END OF DAYS Pastor Marcos Marrero Objective: To help believers understand the biblical perspective of the end of days by reflecting on both personal mortality and God’s ultimate judgment on the nations. The lesson aims to awaken spiritual sensitivity to the frailty of human life, the urgency of repentance, and the necessity of seeking God’s mercy in the midst of His wrath, so that we may be prepared for our individual end and the final culmination of history. Synopsis: The teaching begins with Lamentations 4:18, drawing attention to the reality of endings, both personal and cosmic. From early life experiences of life and death cycles, the message reminds us that awareness of mortality is ingrained in human existence. Psalm 39 provides David’s prayer for God to make him aware of his end, showing that recognition of life’s brevity fosters humility, value for life, and readiness for eternity. This awareness combats the human tendency toward indifference. David confessed how silence and inaction in the face of evil only stirred sorrow within him until prayer moved him to action. His prayer was not for strength but for revelation of his own frailty, emphasizing dependence on God. The prophet Habakkuk’s lament mirrors this struggle. He cried out against injustice, perplexed at God’s silence and His use of even more wicked nations to execute judgment. Yet God revealed to Habakkuk His larger plan: both Israel and the nations would face judgment, culminating in the dreadful end of days. This revelation shifted Habakkuk’s prayer from complaint to intercession: “In wrath, remember mercy” (Hab. 3:2). The lesson concludes by urging believers today to view the chaos and lawlessness around us not only as signs of the end but as opportunities to proclaim God’s grace. Instead of fixating on judgment, we are called to embrace God’s heart—that none should perish but all come to repentance. The final exhortation is that while the end of days is certain and God’s wrath inevitable, His mercy is equally available through Christ, who bore judgment at the cross for all who believe. Inspired Teaching: Lamentations 4:18 “They tracked our steps so that we could not walk in our streets, our end was near; our days were over, for our end had come.” Throughout the history of mankind there has always been a group of people fascinated with the end of things, the end of days, and with the end of time. Maybe it is because we experience the death of things on a daily basis, we are not so much aware of it, those of us who live in modern cities that provide us with the comfort of buying things that have already been killed and packaged, but think back to earlier times. I remember when I was a kid growing up in Cuba, even though we lived over the ocean waters, for our house was built on stilts, we still raised chickens on the back deck of the house, and every time my mom was going to fix chicken for dinner one of them had to die. We kept live fish in the well tank of our boat that was tied to the front of the house, and every time that we were going to have fish for dinner, we went to the tank, got the fish out, killed it and cooked it. We did that with pigs and turkeys that we raised for special occasions as well, I even remember a goat that we raised once, it chewed through the wooden boards on the floor and fell through and ended up hanging itself on the chain that it had tied around its neck while its hind legs were dangling over the water. So that the experience of the cycles of life and death, beginning and endings, are well seated within our DNA. But how does the Bible define what we call the end of days, not just generally as of the end of the age, but our personal end as well? Psalm 39:4 “Lord, make me to know my end, and what is the measure of my days, that I may know how frail I am.” David’s prayer gives us great insight as to why we humans are either fascinated, fearful, or willfully indifferent, to the awareness of the end of things as we know them. How many times are we reminded of our mortality? How many times do we ignore it? At the heart of David’s prayer was the cognitive reality that to ignore our personal mortality reduces our ability to prepare ourselves, and our posterity, for the end of the age that will one day come upon the final generation of humans that will live to see that day. David strongly implies that knowing about his personal mortality as well as the duration of his days while here on the earth, would make him more sensitive to the frailty of life. Now here is the implication, it is extremely hard for us humans to really value human life if we are not fully aware of the value of our own life. How do we react to news that a flood or a landslide killed hundreds of people on a far away distant land? First thought that comes to mind is, those things are always happening to those people out there. How do we react when a tragedy like that happens in our own neck of the woods? New York city is still three thousand miles from where I lived in September 11, 2001 and yet I felt, and I still feel, like I was right there when that tragedy happened. Now why is that? Because when we are personally affected by an event that causes many lives to perish, their death becomes more real to us. And that is the idea that Psalm 39 is trying to convey to us. Listen to what it was that caused David to ask God to give him the revelation of: Make me to know my end. Psalm 39:2-3 “I was mute with silence, I held my peace (became indifferent) even from good; and my sorrow was stirred up. My heart was hot within me; while I was musing (just thinking about it), the fire burned. Then I spoke with my tongue (took action).” Wow! What a powerful description of what moved him. First David said to himself, I am going to keep my mouth shut, I don’t care if it is good or bad, I’m just going to stay out of it. Isn’t that what so many of us do today? Society is going to hell in a hand basket all around us, so many are dying of drug overdose, so many others are shot dead on a daily basis, and well, we just feel so helpless that we tell ourselves to ignore it, for after all, there is nothing that we can really do about it, or so we feel. Then David said that his sorrow was stirred up, what was it that caused David’s sorrow to be moved? He said that while he was just sitting around thinking about the situation and doing nothing, the fire burned. There are two ways to interpret that, one is that while we sit around and muse and do nothing, the fire continuous to rage and consume all around us unopposed, inflicting a heavy toll on society. The other way to interpret that is, that while we are witnessing the heavy toll on life that our indifference is in some way aiding and abetting, it is what causes our inward fire to burn that moves us to do something. What David did was he prayed. Prayer is recognition that we ourselves are unable to change the situation by our own mortal means. It is amazing to me that David in his prayer did not ask God to give him strength to deal with the situation that he was too weak to handle, instead he asked God to reveal to him his weaknesses to the utter most, for this is what David say: That I may know how frail I am. This is so amazing, because it defies human logic. How is me knowing how weak in reality I really am is going to solve the situation? There is a Scripture parallel that applies here I believe, and it is found in the entire book of the prophet Habakkuk. Habakkuk 1:2-4 “O Lord, how long shall I cry, and You will not hear? Even cry out to You, ‘Violence!’ And you will not save. Why do you show me iniquity, and cause me to see trouble? For plundering and violence are before me; there is strife, and contention arises. Therefore the law is powerless, and justice never goes forth. For the wicked surround the righteous; therefore perverse judgment proceeds.” Habakkuk was a righteous Israelite man who lived among the sinful people of the nation of Israel of that time. He is praying to God, and he is asking God why He is not answering his prayer, Habakkuk tells God that he is even pointing out the wrongdoing that he sees when he cries out publicly, Violence! Back in Bible days it was customary to cry out publicly, or to publish, when something bad was happening that could affect those around them. In the case of a leprous person having to pass near anyone else that was not infected with leprosy, the victims of leprosy were required by law to cry out loudly, Unclean! Unclean! To warn those around then not to come in close contact with them. In the same manner when a sin was being perpetrated against another in the nation of Israel, it was required of the Israelites to expose the wrong doing publicly, and that is what Habakkuk is saying to God he did, to no avail. Then Habakkuk says this to God: Why do you show me iniquity, and cause me to see trouble? Basically, Habakkuk is saying, Lord if You are not going to answer my prayer of action against lawlessness, why then do you allow me to witness so much evil? After all, if you do not answer my prayer, there is absolutely nothing that I can do about the wrong that is all around me. However, God is trying to teach Habakkuk what David already knew and was teaching us on Psalm 39. Habakkuk 1:5 “Look among the nations and watch—be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days which you would not believe, though it was told you.” So, God takes the prophet Habakkuk into a vision of the near future and reveals to him what dreadful end the nation of Israel has coming because of all their sinfulness that they refused to repent from. Habakkuk is in shock when he witnesses first-hand what the utter devastation of all those around him will be. However what troubles him the most is the way in which God executes judgment on Israel. I guess Habakkuk expected some holy and righteous nation to be used by God to judge his faltering nation, but instead God uses a nation that is far worse, as far as sinfulness and cruelty is, than Israel ever was, to judge them. This is how God describes the nation that He will use to judge Israel for all their sinfulness that they have committed against Him. Habakkuk 1:7 “They are terrible and dreadful; their judgment and their dignity proceed from themselves.” So that Habakkuk’s prayer changes in emphasis, instead of saying how bad the Israelites really are that lived all around him, now he is asking God how can you use a nation that is far worse than Israel could have ever been to judge us? And then this is what Habakkuk says: Habakkuk 2:1 “I will stand my watch and set myself on the rampart, and watch to see what He will say to me, and what I will answer when I am corrected.” Then God takes Habakkuk into a vision of the future end of days, when the entire earth, along with all the nations, will be judged by God for all their ungodly acts that they have committed against Him. The experience is so traumatic that Habakkuk finally realizes that the judgments of God for the end of days are so completely dreadful, that he now understands how frail human life truly is, and instead of feelings of inadequacy and helplessness, or complaining about all the wrong that was all around him, instead he realizes that the only hope for all humans lies in God’s mercy. Habakkuk 3:2 “O Lord, I have heard Your speech and was afraid; O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known; In wrath remember mercy.” David’s prayer was: Make me to know my end, and what is the measure of my days, that I may know how frail I am. Notice how the prayer of Habakkuk mirrors what the prayer of David was, Revive Your work in the midst of the (my) years. I believe that there are no humans that have ever experienced how dreadful the judgments of the end of days are, and who have not prayed this prayer in earnest: Dear Lord, IN THE DAY OF YOUR WRATH, REMEMBER MERCY! We are living in the midst of dire and difficult days, to say the least, for lawlessness and perversion are rampant everywhere we look. But let our prayer emphasis change from, God look at all the evil that is all around us, when are You going to judge it? To the New Testament revelation that says, the more that sins abounds, the more that the grace of God abounds. Let us see what is going on all around us as an opportunity to usher in the grace of God. And we can pray that prayer "in wrath remember mercy" sincerely, only if we have felt the heart of God in this matter. For our God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. That is why Jesus went to the cross. Previous Next Home
- DELIVERANCE IS FOR LIFE | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)
DELIVERANCE IS FOR LIFE The objective of this teaching is to help believers understand that deliverance, like salvation, is not a one-time event but a lifelong journey of freedom in Christ. Pastor Marcos emphasizes that deliverance addresses not only sin but also the consequences of sin, and that believers must learn to recognize and overcome strongholds through forgiveness, covenant trust, and the fruit of the Spirit. The goal is to equip Christians with a mindset of continual victory, rooted in God’s unchanging promises, that transforms both their personal walk and their ministry toward others. DELIVERANCE IS FOR LIFE Pastor Marcos Marrero January 1, 1900 Objective: The objective of this teaching is to help believers understand that deliverance, like salvation, is not a one-time event but a lifelong journey of freedom in Christ. Synopsis: In Deliverance is for Life, Pastor Marcos Marrero explores the biblical truth that God carries His children from the womb to old age, promising continual deliverance (Isaiah 46:3-4). Many Christians mistakenly view deliverance as a one-time breakthrough, yet Pastor Marcos shows that true deliverance is an ongoing process tied to salvation itself—salvation frees us from sin, while deliverance frees us from its lingering consequences. He explains that sin has two edges: separation and consequence. Through Christ, who is both faithful to forgive and just to cleanse, believers can experience complete restoration. Forgiveness, however, does not always restore trust, and many struggle with offenses because they confuse forgiving with trusting. Pastor Marcos teaches that forgiving is an act of obedience to God’s Word, not a reliance on human flesh, and that true deliverance requires shifting focus from the offender to the spiritual strongholds influencing their behavior. By exposing the battle between selfish ambition (self-centered idolatry) and self-control (fruit of the Spirit), he encourages believers to stop taking offenses personally and instead intercede for those bound by strongholds. Such prayers, birthed by the Spirit, align with Christ’s command to love, bless, and pray for those who hurt us (Matthew 5:44-45). Pastor Marcos stresses the security of God’s covenant: unlike human relationships that can break under repeated offenses, Jesus swore never to leave nor forsake His children. This assurance empowers believers to forgive continually and extend grace, knowing God’s promises are unchangeable. Ultimately, Deliverance is for Life calls Christians to reject selfish ambition, embrace self-control, and trust in God’s unwavering commitment to carry and deliver them. Every offense becomes an opportunity for double victory—freedom from personal hurt and the chance to minister deliverance to others. In this way, past wounds no longer define believers but become platforms for testimony, demonstrating that all things work together for good to those who love God (Romans 8:28). Inspired Teaching: Isaiah 46:3-4 “Listen to Me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, who have been upheld by Me from birth, who have been carried from the womb: even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.” Those who go through the deliverance ministry, sometimes think that it is a one-time proposition because of the great results that they received after being delivered from a stronghold that held them back for so long. But in reality, deliverance, like salvation, is a lifelong process that involves every believer, even if they have not gone through ministry under a well-trained deliverance team. Not every believer has a stronghold in their lives so powerful that needs outside help in order for them to break loose from it. In this lesson I want to deal with the ministry of deliverance itself and the different kinds of strongholds that afflict so many of God’s children today. Deliverance and salvation are synonymous in the sense that we all need to be saved, and we all need to be delivered. Salvation saves us from our sins. Deliverance saves us from the consequences of our sins. There is a difference, and awareness of that difference can make all the difference in the world, pardon the pun. 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Sin is a double edge sword that cuts both ways, brings separation, and condemnation/consequences. Jesus, the two-edged sword Word of God who became flesh is faithful and just; faithful to forgive us our sins, and just to cleanse us from the consequences of our sins. We can never understand deliverance until we understand the two sides of sin. Let’s say that a person sins against another person, let’s call that sin a violation of trust. Let’s say that the offender repents and asks the offended person to forgive them and let us say that the offended person truly forgives them, it does not necessarily mean that the person that got hurt and forgave the trespasser, will be able to trust them again even if they wanted to, because within our nature we do not like to get hurt. During ministry, many a time I heard the injured party say to me that they cannot let go of the offense. They know that the Scriptures compels them to forgive the offender, yet the pain is so real to them that they cannot bring themselves to forgive because they equate it with having to put their trust on the offender only to get hurt all over again. Forgiving does not mean trusting in their flesh! Philippians 3:3 “For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.” God does not put any confidence in the flesh and neither should we, but if we want to worship God in Spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, we must be obedient to His Word. That is if we want to be delivered from our inabilities to trust again and be free from the fear of getting hurt. We need a basic understanding of how Jesus is faithful to forgive us, and how He is just to cleanse us from our repeated offenses that just won’t let us go, because of the stronghold that they have over our actions. It all begins with us putting our trust in the covenant! Hebrews 6:18 “That by two immutable (unchangeable) things, in which it is impossible for God to lie (And He also swore that He would not change His mind 7:21), we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.” In the covenant that allows Jesus to be faithful to forgive us our sins and just to cleanse us from their consequences, we find that the God who cannot lie swore on an oath that He would not change His mind. Here is what it means: when we forgive, we do so in the expectation that the offender will not hurt us anymore by violating our trust once again. If they continue to hurt us after we have truly forgiven them, we, rightly so, change our minds and break away from fellowship with them, and the offender bears the consequences of their sins against us by being deprived of our communion with them, for that might be the only way that we can keep them from hurting us. So that in our natural way of thinking we see our relationship with Jesus in the same frame of mind, since we keep sinning against His Word because of a stronghold in our lives, we derive that He changes His mind toward us and does not want to be around us anymore. Although our hurting others will keep people away from us, we can never drive Jesus away from us, because He promised us that He would never leave us nor forsake us, and He swore an oath that He would not change His mind. So that if we want to see ourselves in the way that Jesus sees us, we need to see those who continue to offend us as Jesus sees them. It is the spirit of Selfish Ambition against the spirit of Self Control! When someone hurts us, our natural response is, they hurt me. We hardly realize that the person hurting us is so hurt that they just simply hurt back others just so that in their minds they get even somehow, that is how the spirit of Selfish Ambition works. It is self-centered. If in the other hand we realize that the person hurting us is under the control of a spiritual stronghold, especially when they have repented in the past and come back and hurt us again, then our mind set can be one of Self Control. For our emphasis is now on the spiritual condition of the offender instead of our own hurt that we are experiencing by their actions against us. In spiritual warfare, once the spirit behind the offense is exposed, that lays the foundation for our victory over them. So that every time that we are offended we have an opportunity for a double victory. If we do not take the offense personal, we do not get hurt, for we say to ourselves, this is not about me...they are the ones that have a problem. Then we can direct our focus to the person that needs to be set free from their strongholds. We can do that by putting them on our prayer list and asking Jesus on a regular basis to bring deliverance into their lives, or if a door is opened for us to minister to them, because we did not take it personally when they hurt us. Then we can lead them into the truth that Jesus loves them and will never leave them no matter what, and if they see that demonstrated in us, they will know that it is for real. How do we identify strongholds? Selfish Ambition is always rooted in idolatry, and at the heart of idolatry is self-worship, for it cries this is all about Me. When we get offended it is because Me got in the way. But how can I keep from getting hurt you may ask? Next time that you get offended ask yourself this question, Who is offending Me, the person or a spirit within the person? If your answer is, it is the person, then it becomes personal to you, it also becomes a trap for your soul. For Jesus died for that person’s soul just as much as He died for your own soul, and now you find yourself embroiled in a dispute with a person that was created by God and in the image of God. But if your answer is, it is the spirit within that person that is offending me, then now you become one with Jesus in the indignation that one of His creatures has been taken captive by the devil to do his will. So that your prayer to Jesus would go something like this: Dear Lord Jesus, look what that spirit is doing to your child, please Lord set them free! We may not realize it, but that is probably one of the most powerful prayers that we will ever pray. For a prayer like that cannot come from us, but from the Spirit of God that dwells within us. Matthew 5:44-45 “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” How can we be different if we behave like the rest of the world? In our opening Scripture God says that from the womb, even to our old age He carries us, and ends by telling us that He will deliver us. What that means is that whatever happened to us, no matter how bad, or how evil, how unthinkable, or how depraved, He will deliver us! We can on one hand, blame our past for our present circumstances and lash out at others from the midst of our wretched condition; on the other hand, we can use those past experiences as a platform to launch our deliverance mindset that in everything, all things always work out for our own good, because He loves us and He carries us to victory no matter what. Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” All we have to do is reject Selfish Ambitions and embrace His spiritual fruit of Self Control. EXPERIENCE HIS LOVE The goal of this teaching is to help you not only understand but truly experience the love of God in a personal and life-transforming way. By exploring Scripture, you will see how God’s love goes beyond human definitions and becomes the very force that changes your heart, renews your mind, and empowers you to walk in faith, hope, and charity. EXPERIENCE HIS LOVE Minister Lisa Kane August 3, 2025 Objective: The goal of this teaching is to help you not only understand but truly experience the love of God in a personal and life-transforming way. By exploring Scripture, you will see how God’s love goes beyond human definitions and becomes the very force that changes your heart, renews your mind, and empowers you to walk in faith, hope, and charity. Synopsis: In this message, we reflect on what it means to experience His love—the love of God revealed through Christ. Beginning with John 3:16, we recognize that God’s love is not a vague idea but a powerful reality, rooted in His very nature and demonstrated through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. This love is not based on our human perceptions but defined by God Himself. Scripture shows us that love (agape) is more than emotion; it is action, benevolence, and selfless giving. As Paul describes in 1 Corinthians 13, without love, our gifts, knowledge, and even great acts of service amount to nothing. Love suffers long, is kind, rejoices in truth, and endures all things. Experiencing this love transforms how we think, how we treat others, and how we live out our faith. You are invited to pursue this love intentionally—by seeking God in prayer, allowing Him to renew your mind (Romans 12:1–2), and opening your heart to His Spirit. Experiencing His love leads to a deeper understanding of your value to God, a renewed desire to walk in His ways, and the strength to show His love to others. Above all, it is love that never fails and remains the greatest gift we can live in and share with the world. Inspired Teaching - Written and/or Transcribed from Video Above: Hello and welcome to the House of Faith Ministries. I'm Lisa Kaine and I'm recording this teaching on Sunday, August 3rd, 2025. Welcome. Let's open up in a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for your word and we bless your word. We pray that your word does not return void. And I pray that the hearts of the listeners will respond to this teaching by the anointing of your love in their hearts and minds. that they become to realize and experience your love, that they actually understand it, receive it, and walk in it. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen. Amen. Amen. God bless you. Thank you for being here today. This teaching, I'm calling it experience his love. So, we're going to be experiencing the love of Christ. We're going to start here in John 3:16. Probably the most famous quot of scripture of all time. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. So we're going to talk about his love, God's love, not what we think love is or love should be. We're going to go to the scriptures and we're going to see what his love is. Now uh as a reminder for those who are new and listening, every bolded word is the actual word in the King James version. That's what the King James translators use when translating from Hebrew or Greek into English. And then anything in parenthesis afterwards is uh other words that I found through the Hebrews the Strongs Hebrews Greek dictionary. So in this case, if you could take a look at the word love here, it's agapeo is how they pronounce it. Um it says it's um to love in a social or moral sense be loved. So social moral sense type of love and remember the word love covers a whole bunch of meanings in the scripture. So you have to go look at the original text to understand what it means. So in the original text is telling you uh in a social or moral sense what is that? Well, it's like a mother gives birth and it is now her obligation to take care of that child. Well, in a social moral sense, God is obligated to take care of us because he birthed us. He He's the one who created this world. So, he says here, and I want you to catch this. It says, "For God so loved the world." And some of us might look at this world and go, "Ah, really? Because sin has corrupted this world so much to the sense of that we don't know what his love is like. And until you experience it, until you realize it, when he went to the cross and he died for us, he shed his blood. He gave his blood. when it clicks in here, it's like he did that and all of a sudden something starts to happen. There's a transformation and a change that begins to happen. So, we're going to build that in scripture. Let's let's look at who Jesus Christ is in Revelation 15. And from Jesus Christ, this is John uh the beloved writing the book of Revelation. and from Jesus Christ who is the faithful witness and the first begotten of the dead and the prince of the kings of the earth unto him that loved and washed us from our sins in his own blood. Here's that same word, love. Social moral sense. He loved us. And John is saying, look, he's the one who lo loved us so much. He shed his blood. He washed us from our sins, our offenses through his blood. He had to shed blood. You know, think of it like this. When you get a paper cut and it hurts, it stings, and you're just like, "Oh." Or if you're a quilter or crafter like I am and you're using your pins and you poke your finger and you're just like, "Oh, and maybe a little pinch of blood come out, a little droplet, little tiny droplet is painful." But to Christ who experienced more than just pain on that cross for the first time. You know I if you go back to Genesis 1 and God says let there be light. John 1 says in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. Paraphrase it. You can go look it up. Jesus was with God at that time. Jesus a part of God. So you had God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. They're all in one. Jesus was always a part of God. Then Jesus entered his own creation. And he did it so he could shed his blood, but he had to do it as a human being. So he became born as a man, came down here, and he experienced it on the cross. He experienced the pain and the suffering that we all went through. He's God. He's the creator. But he came down to do what he needed to do and to fulfill the law. God said, "Here's the ten commandments. I know you can't keep them. I want you to try your best." But basically, the ten commandments told us we're sinners. So when Jesus came, he says, "Now I give you a new commandment to love one another like he loves." So how can you love like this? What is love? What is his love? Surprisingly, and maybe not to some, but to those that aren't aware of the scriptures, Paul describes love. He describes what it's not and then he describes what it is. We're going to go through First Corinthians 13 here in detail and then I'm going to show you how you can work your mind to experience that love because it takes the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Lisa can't make you experience it. You can't even make yourself. But you can ask God, you can chase God. You can find God. And you can experience his love. And it will change you. It It will automatically change you. So let's start here in 1 Corinthians 13 1 and 2. He says, "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels. Though I speak with the tongues of men and angels." So you speak like a man or a human being or a woman and you speak like I am speaking right now. And then it says also to speak with the tongues of angels. Speaking in tongues. So you've got an anointing on you if you can speak like that. But then all of a sudden it says and have not charity. That word charity is agape and it is love. Now notice what this love says that it's an affection or benevolence. Specifically a love feast charity says benevolence. Affection. This is the type of love that you want to help somebody. You want to bless them. You're there supporting them. uh you pray with them. This is like a ministry type of love if you will. And it's saying here listen if you talk with tongues of men and you talk with the tongues of angels but you don't have affection or benevolence I am become as a sounding brass or a tinkling symbol. It clashes because you're not showing the love with your actions. You see, your mind says, "Oh, I want to be a ministry. I want to do this. I want to help God. I want to get his word out there." But if you're not experiencing his love, you haven't experienced it yet. You kind of it clashes. You have to experience his love. And he continues to say in verse two, "And though I have the gift of prophecy." And you know, if you go back to look at King Saul, King Saul prophesied, but then he went and saw Medium. The Lord left him. He was tormented by demons at that point. But he prophesied at that time. It says here, "And though I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, what if I understand everything about the scriptures and I'm here to teach it all to you, which by the way, I don't and I can't. I have to just re rely on the Holy Spirit. It's all I can do. Can't do anything else." says uh and all knowledge and though I have all faith and even to walk in faith which by the way believing in Christ is walking in faith. You have all that faith, you do all this stuff, you have this knowledge, you understand all mysteries, you have the gift of prophecy, you can remove mountains, but you don't have charity, which is that same definition above agape, the affection or benevolence. I am nothing. I I'm nothing. You have to experience his love before you go walk into ministry is what Paul is saying here. You want to talk in tongues. You want to walk in the gift of prophecy. You want to minister to people. You want to help them. But if you're not doing it from a heart of love, and I'm not talking about an obligation love here. We're talking about a true benevolence. You want to bless them. No strings attached. You want to do this because you love God and he's changed you. It's like helping your enemy. Something that most humans can't do until they experience God's love and then it changes all changes everything. Let's go to verse three. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor and though I give my body to be burned but have not charity. Look at there. Agape. We're talking about affection or benevolence. It profitth me nothing. Let's talk about profiting from Christ and his presence. You know, there's scripture that talks about where when you get up to heaven, all the things around you that you did on the earth that is either equal to hay or wood. Um, some of it could be gold, some of it could be silver, but all of that stuff gets burned. What doesn't melt or what doesn't burn away would be your silvers and gold and all that kind of stuff. So, you want to profit that. What is that? Well, a crown of salvation. Let's say you get saved. You put on a crown of salvation that goes through that fire. It lasts. It still will come out of that fire in whatever material it's made out of for gold or silver. If it was made out of wood, stubble, hay, it's going to burn. It profitth you nothing unless it's made of gold and silver. By the way, his love is pure gold. You want to experience is not just for personal growth, but it's for you to minister to others and to help them. And when you do it out of love, profit goes into your account in heaven. That's what this is about. He's profited you nothing. But you can get profit from it in your heavenly bank account. That's how that works. That's what this is about. You know, and experiencing this love can just be for personal growth. But when you're given a talent and God is requiring you, he's going to you're the steward of that talent. He's going to ask you, "What did you do with the talent I gave you?" I just taught about being a good steward in the last teaching. You can go check that out. I telling you, as you humble yourself before the Lord and you let that love transform you, you become a different person and your profit goes to your heavenly bank account which is for eternity here on the earth. It's not eternal. Verse four, charity ser now. Okay, so we just finished talking about what love isn't. You see, I can help feed the poor. I can do all that. That's not love. It profitth you nothing because you don't have his love in you. So now he's going to describe what love is. Look at this. Charity suffereth long. This is that affection, benevolence, agape love suffer suffereth long. It doesn't get mad. In other words, it puts up it tolerates over and over and over again. And I can tell you right now, there are many Christians who just can't even handle somebody cutting them off on the freeway without displaying and making sure that the other knows. And I'm guilty of that. So, I'm not just preaching to you and preaching to myself here, okay? But this is what he says. Charity suffereth long and is kind. Now, what is kindness? Because if you're feeding the poor, you think, "Oh, that's just being kind." No, that's making a life saved to live another day, to have another chance to accept Christ in their heart if they're a non-believer. That's kindness is giving somebody who has who deserves no kindness, who deserves no love. You're giving it to them. You're showing it to them. You're showing it through your emotion. You're showing it by your actions. You don't even have to say a word. You're just in their presence. You're listening to them. You're holding their hands. You're putting your arms around them. There's there's something about that. And this is being identified here. And it's kind charity. Envyth not. Hey, I'm glad you got that. I'm glad you're blessed. Do you know how many people are not truly glad that you either bought a house or you got a bonus? They're jealous. They're trying to think, "How come they got it and I didn't?" That's the first thought they got. That's not love. Love is being well pleased with your brethren to say, "Hey, look. Congratulations. I'm so glad that you got that." And there's no envy, no jealousy there. That's love. Charity vaunteth not itself. Is not puffed up. It's not full of vain. It's not about me me. Look what I did. I fed the poor. That's not love. That's not even kindness. That's self vanity. And that is puffing yourself up. And as the the scriptures telling you, that's not what love is. Doesn't do that. And this is where we need to have a transformation and a change. Let's finish chapter 13 because I really want you to see how this this works. doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinkketh no evil. There's no evil agenda when you go to do something good. You're just doing it out of the goodness of your heart because you love God and you just you're just saying, "Lord, I love you so much that I want to help these people. I can see they need help." And you pray. You pray in the secret place. And you go help them. And God exposes that in the open. what you did in secret, he exposes in the open. That's scriptural. You can go look that up. Says it rejoices not in iniquity. Do you know you know um there's been things that have happened to people. I'm not going to name anything specific, but people are glad and they put it in writing rejoicing. You know, like when Hamas killed all those people, there's a classic example. They were joyful and singing in the streets for somebody's pain and suffering. Look, it says here, "Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but they were so happy for the sin and the pain and the killings that they did. They were rejoicing." That is not love. That is not love. That's not what charity does. But rejoicth in the truth. So when the truth comes out, and we're talking not your perception of truth, we're actually talking about truth itself. When it comes out, if you love God and God loves you, you have experienced his love, you're going to rejoice in that. You're going to say, "Finally, the the truth is coming out. It's being exposed." And you're very glad about that. there may not be any consequences or if somebody did sin, hey, let me pray for them. Lord, I'm gonna pray for them. I'm going to forgive them. I'm going to ask you to forgive them there. See, there's a difference. This is experiences. Love beareth all things, believeth all things, hope all things, endureth all things. You see, love will get you through everything. When you experience his love, it will get you through everything. That is key right here. That is understanding this love. Understand that. Know that you're moving in a different light. Your motives have changed. The inside of you has changed. You're not the same person you were one year ago, 5 years ago, 10 years ago, 25 years ago. Look at verse eight. Charity. Here it is. Agape never faileth. But whether there be prophecies, they shall fail. Whether there be tongues, they shall cease. Whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect or complete is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. So, he's telling us straight off the bat, you know, you can walk in all the holiness you want to walk, but I'm going to tell you right now, if you don't have the attitude of love, if there wasn't that transformation that took place, you're not walking in the right path with God. Now, does that mean anything's wrong with you? It just means you're not profiting from it. It means that you're sounding like a clanging symbol because everybody around you can sense it. know it, hear it in their spirit. You're playing church or you know, and a lot of people go to church thinking that's, hey, I got my love. God loves me. I got a preaching in today or or I got I learned something new from the Bible today. Woohoo. I'm going to tell you right now, that's not allowing love to transform you. You need to experience this. Finish off chapter 13, uh, verse 11. When I was a child, I spake as a child. I understood as a child, I thought as a child. But when I became a man, I put away childish things. You see, he's telling you the process here, you became a believer. And when you became a believer, it's childlike, very simple. You got simple faith, your understanding. But as you grow and as you become mature in Christ, as you begin to walk in prophecy, speaking in tongues, as you begin to do that, something changes. He's telling you, you're putting away childish things. Then he says here in verse 12, for now we see through a glass darkly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then shall I know even as also I am known. Knowledge plays a huge role in understanding God's love. When we started off with John 3:16, you become aware and have the knowledge that God came. For God so loved the world, this is why he came. You immediately know that knowledge. You immediately have that knowledge. This is where you begin to experience it. You may not comprehend, but you know it down inside. And what begins to happen is you try to go into ministry, you try to talk in tongues, you try to do all this, but without the love transforming you without the experience, without that knowledge, you can't make the transformation that you need. You're wondering and you know when you don't have the love of God he by the way he loves you you just don't understand and you have not received it. This is on you putting up a shield keeping yourself away from the pressure of that. Okay from his love. When you are doing that it doesn't there's a lot of things that don't make sense to you still. It's not that you're not a believer. It's the fact that you just don't you haven't opened up your heart to receive and experience his love yet. Because see, once you understand his love, you understand how much he puts you first. You begin to understand the scriptures in a whole new way because these scriptures are for your benefit. And then you begin to absorb the transformation begins to change. You get hungry for the Lord and it it changes you. And look what Paul says here. The last verse of 1 Corinthians 13. He says, "Now abidth faith, hope, charity, there's that agape, affection, or benevolence." These three, but the greatest of these is charity. You see, as the believer in Christ, you walk in faith because it takes faith to walk with God. Then it says you have hope because you're hoping he's returning to get you out of this mess because sometimes this world is bad. But he says, what's the most important? Charity is the greatest. Love is the greatest because that's what transforms you. That's what makes the change. Look at what it says here in Psalm 51:10. Create in me a clean heart, oh God, and renew a right spirit within me. It says to be new, rebuild. You see, you've been a part of this world, but you haven't experienced this love. You got to have that experience which rebuilds your heart. What's your heart? Your thoughts, your emotions. That's your heart. And it rebuilds it. It changes it. You and you're allowing God to do you open up the door because see, you need to experience it. You need to want it. You need to make the change and the effort to understand it. You got to have the knowledge of what his love, you know, when he says, "For God so loved the world." What does that mean to you? Do you just take it? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like for granted. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He loved me. You have not experienced love if that's how you see that scripture. That scripture should resonate in your heart. For God so loved the world. Oh, that includes me. When you start to think like that, that transforms your mind. Look at what it says here. Romans 12:1 and2. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God. You see, God moved by love. He loves so much that he gave his only begotten son to redeem us. That's his mercies. says, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." He's saying, "Let the love come into your heart." It is your reasonable service because this is what's going to transform you. Look what he says in verse two. And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed. You got to experience the love to let it transform you. Otherwise, it means something. Blah blah blah blah. Yeah, it's like you not being a good steward with the talents that God gave you that I just finished teaching last week. And then it says, uh, but being transformed by the renewing, the renovation of your mind. This has to change. Stinking thinking has to go away. This comes now down to I'm going to think what scripture tells me. I'm going to put God first. I choose God first. I walk in goodness first. I'm not going to choose to do things evil. And when you make that decision, a mental decision in your mind, you speak it out. By the way, if you go back and look at the history of Queen Victoria, she chose says, "I'm going to be good. I choose to be a good queen. She verbally spoke it. It is documented. And she ended up having such a beautiful kingdom." This is what God is trying to teach us. You choose to in your mind decide to be good. decide to experience his love. You know, Lord, I want to understand your love. Ask him. Go to him and say, "Help me understand this love. Show me this love." Says, "Then he renews your mind." He's going to renovate it so that you don't think the old way. You're going to think the new way. And look what he says. The goal of this is that ye may prove or test what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. You can't experience it or understand it or know it without having the experience of his love. That love is what that knowledge of that love is one going to manifest in you in a way where you begin to speak the words. Lord create in me a new heart. Cleanse me. Help me not have that stinking thinking. I don't want to think that way anymore, Lord. I want to think positive. I want to think good thoughts. I want to have that faith and that hope, but I really want to show and demonstrate your love. How do I do this? Psalm 91 tells us to dwell in the secret place with the Lord. Right now, I'm going to tell you right now, getting into the secret place with the Lord is where you're the most likely going to experience his love. of God can demonstrate his love wherever and and you may just experience in whatever setting the Lord sets for you something that you needed to see something that you something in your heart something in your mind in your spirit knew it needed to see that and you're going to be like that was God and he demonstrated his love for me that and that is where you begin to experience it you begin to realize for God so loved the world and he loved so much through his obligation. He could have finished things off at Noah's flood even earlier than that. He could have said, "You know what? This went this was a bad idea and just checked it all out the window and decided to stop the whole thing." But you know what kept him from doing that? his obligation, his social moral sense, his love. He he said to himself, "I love this world so much." And in that moment as he said that, you know, he he saw Adam, he saw Eve, he saw sin, but he saw his son, he saw his salvation, he saw Lisa, and he said, "I got to save this world. This is worth saving. This is how valuable we are." You see, to experience that love is to realize how valuable you are. This is why the devil attacks so much. He is trying to lie to you. He's trying to steal from you the love of God. This is why it is important that you take action by creating an environment where it's just you and God and say, "Lord, I want to experience your love. I want you to change me because one, I want to repay back to you what you've done for me. But most importantly, I want to get as many people saved because I don't want anyone to go to hell. Just like God doesn't want anyone to go hell to hell. He transform you. He changes you. That's what God does. Ah, so awesome. Let's close in a word of prayer. Father God, we love you and we thank you for your word. I pray that each and every one of us who heard this message will take that time to go and experience your love. That you will show us the love and that we would understand it. Understand what Christ did on the cross. Experience that. Live by it and then show the world what you meant when you said you loved us. Thank you Lord for your word. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Amen. Amen. God bless you and I'll see you in the next teaching. Home Previous Next

SPIRITUAL JOY The objective of this teaching is to help believers understand that true spiritual joy is not dependent on life’s circumstances but flows from the eternal gift of salvation in Christ Jesus. Pastor Marcos emphasizes that this joy is irrevocable, unshakable, and rooted in the immutability of God’s promises. Through Scripture, he shows that spiritual joy is both a present reality for the believer and a foretaste of eternal pleasures at God’s right hand. SPIRITUAL JOY Pastor Marcos Marrero January 1, 1900 Objective: The objective of this teaching is to help believers understand that true spiritual joy is not dependent on life’s circumstances but flows from the eternal gift of salvation in Christ Jesus. Pastor Marcos emphasizes that this joy is irrevocable, unshakable, and rooted in the immutability of God’s promises. Through Scripture, he shows that spiritual joy is both a present reality for the believer and a foretaste of eternal pleasures at God’s right hand. Synopsis: In Spiritual Joy, Pastor Marcos explores Psalm 16:11 as the foundation for understanding the fullness of joy found in God’s presence. He explains that spiritual joy is inseparable from spiritual life—unlike worldly happiness, which is fleeting and circumstantial. Spiritual joy endures because it is anchored in the gift of eternal life, which God has declared irrevocable (Romans 11:29). Pastor Marcos highlights Peter’s sermon on Pentecost (Acts 2), where he connected the resurrection of Jesus to David’s prophecy in Psalm 16. This fulfilled promise revealed that death was conquered, eternal life secured, and joy made possible for all who believe. Spiritual joy is not just inward but manifests outwardly, producing rejoicing and thanksgiving among God’s people (Psalm 118). The lesson also underscores that God’s covenant is unchangeable: He cannot lie and will not change His mind about salvation (Hebrews 6:18; 7:21). Therefore, believers can rejoice even in trials, knowing that the Lord is always on their side, their salvation is secure, and His mercy endures forever. Pastor Marcos provides practical reasons for joy—God’s goodness, His mercy, His deliverance in times of trouble, His help against enemies, His fatherly discipline without disowning, and the promise of eternal life. Ultimately, the believer’s confidence and joy rest in God’s unchanging character and the finished work of Christ. Spiritual joy flows from a wellspring of salvation, bringing strength, peace, and praise that transcends every situation. Inspired Teaching: Psalm 16:11 “You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Spiritual joy comes as the direct result of spiritual life, you cannot separate them, where there is no spiritual life there is no spiritual joy. We maybe very happy due to our position in life, but our position in life is not the source for spiritual joy, for if our position in life changes for the worse, then our reason for happiness is removed. Not so with spiritual joy, once you have it you can never lose it. For our joy is based on the gift of eternal life, and God’s gifts are irrevocable. Romans 11:29 “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” In the day of Pentecost Peter began to preach to the multitudes who had gathered around the disciples after a tornado, a rushing mighty wind, had settled over and filled the house where they were praying. Peter told the crowd that they were witnessing that which the prophet Joel had prophesied about as being the mission statement of the newly born church of our Lord Jesus Christ; and this is what Peter told them: Acts 2:22-25 “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know—Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; whom God raised up, having loosed (destroy or abolished) the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.” Peter gets right to the point and tells the multitudes that the Jesus that they’ve crucified and killed, is the very One whom God had appointed to destroy the pains of death itself, for Peter tells them that it is impossible for death to keep hold of the Author and Sustainer of Life. Then the very next Scripture that he quotes to them is from Psalm 16, our opening text; Peter tells them that when David wrote Psalm 16 he was not speaking about himself, but about Israel’s future Messiah, and plainly tells them that the fulfillment of David’s prophecy has been accomplished by the resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth from the dead. Acts 2:27 “For You will not leave my soul in Hades, nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.” Psalm 16:10 “For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.” The point that Peter is trying to make to them is that death has been conquered by Jesus going to the cross, and that the path or way for eternal life had been made known to man, and that is the very reason why we have joy. Acts 2:28 “You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of joy in Your presence.” Psalm 118:14-15 “The Lord is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation. The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous; the right hand of the Lord (Jesus) does valiantly.” Psalm 118 is the center chapter of the Bible; it is preceded by the shortest chapter in the Bible and it is followed by the longest chapter in the Bible, I guess that we can call it the long and the short of it. The center verses of chapter 118 and of the Bible itself, speaks of how the Lord has become our salvation and how that is our reason for rejoicing. Although I called it Spiritual Joy it is very much physically present within all true believers. The reason why I called it spiritual is because this joy is independent of whatever our physical situation might be. I also stated the this joy is a gift from God and that His gifts are irrevocable. Let me enumerate a few reasons as to why we should all be rejoicing in this joy that emanates from our born again spirit and permeates every fiber of our souls. Psalm 118:1 “Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” He is good! We know that, for He saved us from all our sins, but let us remember also that His mercy towards us is everlasting. In the letter to the Hebrews we are told that by two immutable things God established His covenant with us: Number one is that the God who cannot lie swore on an oath, number two, that He would not change His mind. This is very important, for from our human perspective we make commitments that are based on our present circumstances, and when those circumstances change, we sometimes find it reasonable to change our minds about our original commitment. We are tempted within our human nature to believe that God changes His mind about our salvation when the circumstances warrant it, but that way of thinking is not within God’s nature, and He wanted us to know that. Hebrews 6:18 “That by two immutable (unchangeable) things, in which it is impossible for God to lie…” Hebrews 7:21 “But He (Jesus) became a priest with an oath when God said to Him: ‘The Lord has sworn and will not change His mind: You are a priest forever.’” NIV So that our salvation is not dependent on our present or future situations, but rather in the immutability of the oath of the God who does not lie and who swore that He would not change His mind about our salvation that was entrusted to the Priesthood of Jesus. Now that is the headspring of the living waters of the well of salvation and the reason for our unshakable joy. Psalm 118:5-6 “I called on the Lord in distress; the Lord answered me and set me in a broad place. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” So, what happens if in our daily walk we fall, falter, or fail? They that call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, delivered into a broad place! What if I come under demonic attack? The Lord is on my side and will always be on my side. He promised and said that He would not change His mind, so therefore we have no fear, there is nothing that man can do to us in regards to our salvation. Now there is another reason for joy. Psalm 118:7 “The Lord is for me among those who help me; Therefore I shall see my desire on those who hate me.” The Lord is our vindication and our source of joy, for we know that while in this world we will have tribulations that are brought about by our enemies. But God is our present help in time of need and we know that He can be fully trusted. Psalm 118:17 “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” What greater joy can a person have than being able to say with such great confidence, I am not going to die, I am going to live, and I will testify about God’s faithfulness. And here is the main reason why we can rejoice! Psalm 118:18 “The Lord has chastened me severely, but He has not given me over to death.” It is true that the Lord is our Father and as such He will chasten us, for we are not illegitimate children, BUT HE WILL NEVER DISOWN US! It is no wonder that there is so much praise and joy as the Psalm comes to a close: Psalm 118:28-29 “You are my God, and I will praise You; You are my God, I will exalt You. Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” How can we not love a God that loves us so much? How can we not rejoice when we have a merciful God like Him for our Father? At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore! Previous Next Home

A NEW THING The objective of A NEW THING is to encourage believers to prepare spiritually, mentally, and emotionally for the divine changes God is orchestrating in their lives and in the world. Drawing from Scripture, the teaching emphasizes trusting God in times of uncertainty, resisting fear, and cultivating faith that aligns with God’s plan. It calls the church to readiness, worship, and reliance on God’s promises as He ushers in a season of wonders and transformative events. A NEW THING Pastor Marcos Marrero Objective: The objective of A NEW THING is to encourage believers to prepare spiritually, mentally, and emotionally for the divine changes God is orchestrating in their lives and in the world. Drawing from Scripture, the teaching emphasizes trusting God in times of uncertainty, resisting fear, and cultivating faith that aligns with God’s plan. It calls the church to readiness, worship, and reliance on God’s promises as He ushers in a season of wonders and transformative events. Synopsis: In A NEW THING, Pastor Marcos reflects on a spiritual prompting received during December 2013 to “be still and wait” on the Lord. As the new year of 2014 approached, the Lord revealed through Scripture that He was preparing to do something new—something radical that would alter life as we know it. Pastor Marcos explores this theme through prophetic passages in Isaiah, Habakkuk, Matthew, and Revelation, highlighting the tension between human fear of the unknown and the assurance that God has redeemed and called His people by name. The lesson stresses that change is inevitable, but God’s people must remember they belong to Him, allowing faith to overcome fear. The message considers the possibility of world-altering, divine interventions—events so wondrous they defy human understanding and disrupt established traditions. Using biblical parallels such as the flood of Noah’s day and Christ’s prophecy of His return, Pastor Marcos frames this “new thing” as both a personal and collective call to spiritual readiness. He urges believers to remain steadfast, praising God in all circumstances, and keeping their eyes on Christ as the ultimate fulfillment of God’s promises. Ultimately, A NEW THING is both a prophetic reflection and a practical exhortation: to trust God’s plan, prepare for radical change, and live in expectation of His marvelous work and Christ’s imminent return. Inspired Teaching: As I posted our prayer focus for the last month of the year at the beginning of the month of December 2013, the Lord prompted me to pray for the ability to be still and to wait on Him, little did I know at the time that He wanted me to be still and wait, and not to write anything for the entire month of December, until the time of waiting was over. As I prepared to write again this last day of the year so that I can publish new things for the month of January 2014, the Scripture that the Lord gave to me, showed me that this new year the Lord will be doing something new and that we are to prepare ourselves for this new thing. I am not sure yet what kind of change this new year is going to bring, but for some reason I feel that this new year will be called a year of wonders. As always the Lord deals with us both in the personal level as well as in the corporal level, and is too early yet to know whether this year of wonders has only a personal application or whether it will be a year of wonders for the church as a whole. So, this lesson will deal with how to be prepared for the new thing that the Lord will be doing this new year of 2014. Isaiah 43:1 “...Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine.” A new thing means change and change into something that is new always strikes a cord of fear within us, for we naturally fear that which we do not know. But to overcome the fear which naturally flows out of uncertainty, we need to understand that it is the Lord who is the One that is bringing in the change, and since we belong to Him, for He has redeemed us, that should remove the uncertainty of what this new thing will bring to us, for whatever it is we know that it is part of His plan for our lives. Notice how the Lord makes it very personal, for He tells us that He has called us by our name, it cannot get any more personal than that, and then He adds that we belong to Him. We need to keep this reality fresh in our minds throughout the year no matter what happens, and by doing so we will not give into the temptation to fear, for the spirit of fear always works against our faith. Isaiah 43:21 “This people I have formed for Myself; they shall declare My praise.” And no matter what happens we will be able to praise Him, for according to His promises, we know that all things always work together for the good of those who love Him and who know that they are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” It is within our nature to wonder what this new thing might be, but we can only speculate as we read between the lines of Scripture. Isaiah 43:18 “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old.” But whatever it is, we know that it will be radical, for it will eclipse the former order of things, and it will cause us not to even consider the things of old as an alternative way of thinking, so we know that whatever it is it will change life as we know it. Habakkuk 1:5 “Look among the nations and watch—be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days which you would not believe, though it were told you.” So what could happen, that it will be so radical, that it would change the long standing traditions of human thinking? What kind of event could change the very foundations and understandings of human knowledge? Isaiah 29:14 “Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvelous work among this people, a marvelous work and a wonder; for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden.” The above Scripture gives as a tremendous insight into what that life altering event might be and information about some of its workings. The first thing that we notice is that the work that the Lord is going to do that is going to change life as we know it, He has already done in the past, for He says that He will again do a marvelous work among this people, and then He adds: A marvelous work and a wonder. So that if we ask this question: What kind of work did the Lord do in the past that radically changed the lives of all the earth’s inhabitants? The flood of Noah’s day stands out all by itself, for it affected every human and radically changed the very nature of earth’s nature itself. Matthew 24:37 “But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” So that we have not only a precedent, but we also have an event that we can associate with the new thing that the Lord will be doing, for whatever it is that the Lord will be doing, it will be a sign that precedes His return to the earth. Matthew 24:29-30 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” Jesus gives us insight as to what the things that will radically change the human paradigm of the cosmos entails. There are three heavens mentioned in the history of the creation: first there is the heaven above, also known as the third heaven and Paradise, the seat of God’s rule over the universe. Then there is the second heaven, also known as the waters, below and the underworld, where all the fallen angels reside. Then there is the first heaven, also called the firmament, which has at its center planet earth, the habitation of the human race. If we read carefully what Jesus said, the stars will fall from heaven, singular, is because Revelation tells us that the stars represent angels, Revelation 1:20 “...The seven stars are the angels…” In Matthew’s case they represent the fallen angels which are thrown out of the second heaven to the earth. Then Jesus adds that the powers of the heavens, plural, will be shaken, which now includes the visible heaven that encompasses the earth, which is also called the firmament and heaven. And that is where the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, singular, when The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light and it is what causes all of the tribes of the earth to mourn as they see Jesus coming to the earth riding on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. How will the human race respond to the infusion of wicked non-human creatures upon our earthly plane? If that is not a new thing, then I do not know what is. What was that you said? You do not believe that something like that will ever happen here on the earth? Revelation 9:1-6 “Then the fifth angel sounded: and I saw a star (angel) fallen from heaven to the earth. To him was given the key to the bottomless pit (the under world). And he opened the bottomless pit, and smoke arose out of the pit like the smoke of a great furnace. So the sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke of the pit. Then out of the smoke locusts came upon the earth. And to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. They were commanded not to harm the grass of the earth, or any green thing, or any tree, but only those men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. And they were not given authority to kill them, but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it strikes a man. In those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will desire to die, and death will flee from them.” I do believe that the rapture would have already taken place by the time that the bottomless pit is opened, but the sign of the Son of Man is something that we will witness from our earthly perch before the rapture takes place, so that we need to ask ourselves, can our faith stand the revelation of such awesome and fearful wonders? Matthew 24:31 “And He will send His angels (after the sign of the Son of Man appears in heaven) with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” Keep looking up! - JERUSALEM THE CITY OF TRUTH | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)
JERUSALEM THE CITY OF TRUTH To present God’s prophetic plan for Jerusalem as revealed in Scripture, affirming His promises of restoration, truth, and holiness for the city. The teaching seeks to highlight how God’s Word has been fulfilled historically, how it is being fulfilled in present times, and how it will be completed in the end of the age, despite opposition from nations and rulers. JERUSALEM THE CITY OF TRUTH Pastor Marcos Marrero Objective: To present God’s prophetic plan for Jerusalem as revealed in Scripture, affirming His promises of restoration, truth, and holiness for the city. The teaching seeks to highlight how God’s Word has been fulfilled historically, how it is being fulfilled in present times, and how it will be completed in the end of the age, despite opposition from nations and rulers. Synopsis: This teaching draws from Zechariah 8:3, where God makes a threefold declaration concerning Jerusalem: He will return to Zion and dwell there, Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth, and it will be known as the Holy Mountain of the Lord. The message traces the prophetic timeline of Jerusalem, beginning with Jesus’ foretelling of the temple’s destruction and the scattering of the Jews, which was fulfilled within that very generation. It then points to the miraculous restoration of Israel as a nation in modern times after nearly 1,900 years, an event unparalleled in human history, proving that God’s counsel shall stand. The lesson emphasizes that current global hostility toward Israel, particularly from nations like Iran, is not merely political but spiritual rebellion against God Himself. Nations that conspire against Jerusalem are warned through Scripture that they will be struck with confusion and judgment, as God defends His chosen people. The teaching further declares that in the end times, Jerusalem will stand as the City of Truth, revealing the ultimate reality of God’s sovereignty. Though the nations rage against His Word, God has set His King, Jesus Christ, upon His holy hill of Zion, and His kingdom will prevail. The prophetic vision concludes with the assurance that many nations will one day seek the Lord in Jerusalem, acknowledging that God is with His people. Finally, believers are exhorted to remain steadfast in prayer and intercession for Israel and the nations, trusting in God’s promises and awaiting the fulfillment of His divine plan, for He is a God of truth, justice, and miracles. Inspired Teaching: Zechariah 8:3 “Thus says the Lord: I will return to Zion, and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be called the City of Truth, the Mountain of the Lord of hosts, the Holy Mountain.” There are things that men and nations do that are in direct violation of the Word of the Lord, but as with everything else that the Lord does, He is longsuffering toward the nations and peoples that sin against His Word. He lets their own sinful ways catch up with them so that they all eventually end up in the misery because of their disobedience and rebellion against His Word. But when the actions of the nations and of the peoples interfere with the plans that the Lord has, and there are no nations here on earth left to make a way for the plans of the Lord to come to fruition, then the Lord intervenes directly, for as it is written: Isaiah 46:10 “...My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure.” In our opening text God makes a threefold declaration about what His plans are for Israel, and for Jerusalem in particular during the end of the age, for these are the days in which we are living right now. Jesus prophesied that Jerusalem and the temple would be destroyed and that the Jews would be scattered and persecuted throughout the world. It happened just as Jesus prophesied, the temple that took almost forty years to build and that was expected, at the time that it was built, to last for centuries, was gone in a fraction of the time that it took to be built. Matthew 24:2 “And Jesus said to them, ‘Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down’” This specific prophecy would have been extremely difficult for any reasonable person to believe back then. The temple of Jesus’ day took forty years to build, and it cost a great amount of treasure, it took a great deal of labor to build it, and on top of that it was built with the blessings of the Roman empire, whose reign lasted for centuries. But the generation that heard that prophecy lived to see its fulfillment. It was also prophesied that the nation of Israel would be restored once again at the end of days. No other nation in the history of the world that disappeared from being a nation for nineteen hundred years ever became a nation again, but Israel did, with the same language, the same traditions, on the same land, and with the same capital that they had when they ceased to be a nation. That’s because God’s counsel will stand! Matthew 18:20 NKJV For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there in the midst of them. In the mouth of two or three witnesses a matter is established. It is interesting that in our opening text God makes a threefold prophecy concerning the nation of Israel and the Jerusalem of our present day. This is what Jesus says about the present-day nation of Israel and its capital, the city of Jerusalem: I will return to Zion, and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Do you see any ambiguity in that statement? The Word that prophesied the destruction of the nation of Israel, is the same Word that prophesied its restoration, and is the same Word that says that He is returning to Zion, and that He is going to dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Let’s face it, Jerusalem is not going anywhere any time soon, and anybody or any nation that works against Israel or Jerusalem to keep them from becoming what the Word of God says it will become in these end times, is going to be broken by the Almighty God who watches over His Word to fulfill it. Zechariah 12:3 “And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.” Our present-day Iran is hell bent in the destruction of the nation of Israel, and like Hitler, Iran’s final solution for the Jewish people is to eradicate them from the face of the earth. To this end, they are heavily invested in building enough nuclear weapons so that they can bring their demonic desires about, the destruction of the nation of Israel. A group of leaders representing a majority of nations, under the leadership of the president of the United States, just gave Iran a clear path to their goal of having the right to make the elements required for building the bombs that they will need to carry out their destruction. Iran knows that if they attack Israel with nuclear weapons that they themselves will be destroyed as well, but what their religion teaches them is that if they destroy the Jewish people, their messiah will come and deliver them from Israel’s wrath. Remember that these are the people that believe that suicide against the Jews is a way to attain immortality. But this is what the Word of God says is happening to the nations that are conspiring to bring about the destruction of the nation of Israel. Zechariah 12:4 “In that day, says the Lord, I will strike every horse with confusion, and its rider with madness; I will open My eyes on the house of Judah, and will strike every horse of the peoples with blindness.” What was the second thing that our opening Scripture declared that God would do in these end times? Jerusalem shall be called the City of Truth. Truth is reality. These nations and their leaders that are so blinded by their prejudices against the Jews and Jerusalem are soon going to find out the cold hard truth: That God is real, that Jesus, His Word, is coming soon to establish His rule here on the earth, and that God’s will shall stand no matter what the nations do. Psalm 2:1-12 “Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His anointed, saying, ‘Let us break Their bonds in pieces and cast away Their cords from us.’ He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; the Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure: Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, You are My Son, today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel. Now therefore, be wise, O kings; be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.” The root of the hatred against Israel is the fact that the nations of this world do not want to have to answer to the Word of God for their actions. For them rejection of Israel is an open rebuke and rejection against God that is why they say, let us break Their bonds in pieces. The Lord shall hold them in derision. Once the nations of the world cross the line, where they reject Israel for the sake of rejecting God, that God strikes them with confusion and madness. The question that we need to ask ourselves right now is, Did the nations gathered in Geneva crossed that line with the treaty that they just made? Here is a Scripture that may apply to what just happened over there: Zechariah 8:7 “Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Behold, I will save My people from the land of the east and from the land of the west.’” Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion. Notice the word yet, that means that in spite of what the nations of the east and the nations of the west did, God’s counsel, His Word will stand. And what is that Word? I will give You the nations for Your inheritance. Whether they like it or not, the earth is the Lord’s as well as everything in it, that includes the nations and all of the peoples of the earth, and this is the advice that the Lord gives to the leaders of these nations: Now therefore, be wise, O kings; be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. The third thing that the Lord revealed in our opening Scripture was: The Mountain of the Lord of hosts, the Holy Mountain. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of God’s throne, the kings and the judges of this world system do not rule supreme, all their despicable acts and rules with which they have corrupted the world with will have to be accounted for. Let us pray that our nation will be one of the ones that will repent before the Lord, for the sake of us all. Zechariah 8:22-23 “Yes, many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the Lord. Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘In those days ten men from every language of the nations shall grasp the sleeve of a Jewish man, saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.”’” Can you believe that! It will happen, after all our God is a God of miracles, all we need to do is to continue to pray for our nation and for the peoples of the nations, for it is only through prayer and intercession that we know our Lord will hear us and move to bless us in the midst of all this chaos. While the nations rage, let us pray! Previous Next Home
- THE LIVING WORD PART 1 | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)
THE LIVING WORD PART 1 Equip believers to recognize the spiritual battle of words, trust the supremacy of Christ’s blood and promises, and actively engage the Living Word through faith, praise, and obedience—so they can silence accusation, receive healing where words have wounded them, and walk as ambassadors of God’s kingdom. < Back THE LIVING WORD PART 1 Pastor Marcos Marrero August 12, 2007 Objective: Equip believers to recognize the spiritual battle of words, trust the supremacy of Christ’s blood and promises, and actively engage the Living Word through faith, praise, and obedience—so they can silence accusation, receive healing where words have wounded them, and walk as ambassadors of God’s kingdom. Synopsis: Speaking from Psalm 109:1–5, the message frames life as a spiritual battle waged in words: the enemy accuses and lies, while God’s Word is living, powerful, and creative. The sermon teaches that in the spiritual realm “words are the currency,” and that what gives divine authority to God’s promises is the shed blood of Jesus (Hebrews 12:24). Contrasting Abel’s accepted blood sacrifice with Cain’s works (Genesis 4), the preacher shows how innocent blood “speaks,” yet Christ’s blood speaks “better things,” silencing accusation and securing redemption. Revelation 13:8 and 1 Peter 1:20 are used to show that God foreordained Christ’s atoning blood from the foundation of the world, guaranteeing the reliability of His promises. The message applies this to everyday struggles—family, health, ministry—urging believers to reject the enemy’s narratives (“you’re unworthy”) and answer with God’s Word. The story of Hannah and Eli (1 Samuel 1) illustrates how a rightly spoken, priestly word can unlock God’s purpose. Practical counsel includes praising God to host His presence amid attack, guarding the “belly”/inner life where words take root (Proverbs 18:8; John 7:38), and standing on God’s “exceedingly great and precious promises” (2 Peter 1:3–4). A vivid thought experiment reimagines Adam facing God by faith rather than hiding in shame, modeling how believers today should run to God’s Word after failure (1 John 1:9). Hebrews 4:12 is highlighted to show the Word’s energizing power to heal deep wounds and separate truth from lies. Personal testimonies (deliverance, marriage, parenting through difficult seasons) underscore that God is faithful and His Word proves true in real life. The message ends with a call to make Jesus not only Savior but Lord, corporate prayer for protection of the implanted Word, and an invitation for personal ministry. Inspired Teaching: great ministry. You know, 20,000 people in there and you know that uh the enemy has uh them in their target. So, this is um very important that we pray for ministries like that. Uh you're able to transform one life, you can change um a great part of the world. Amen. Uh let's begin with a word of prayer this morning. Hallelujah. Precious father in heaven, we thank you. This is the day that the Lord has made. The word says and it says also, "Let us rejoice and be glad in it." I thank you, heavenly father, that every single one of us here are part of this day that you created, Father God, and that you had a plan and a purpose for putting us on this day and here where we are today at Signal Hill Christian Center. I pray, Father God, that you will fulfill the purpose for which you created us this day. I pray that as we partake of your word, Father God, that your word will become alive in us and Father God, and that we'll bring forth, Father God, the praise and worship to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, that he deserves because Bible says that it was for his pleasure that we were created. May we bring pleasure to you this morning, Father God, in all that we do. And everybody that agrees, let us say amen. Amen. Praise God. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. We're going to start with Psalm 109. And u I want to read um five verses. Psalm 109 verses 1-5. And the title of uh the message is the living word. I want to talk about the word of God, the living word of the Bible. But I want to put it in contrast. Sometimes it's hard for us to understand things unless we uh see it in contrast. But let me begin in Psalm 109 verse one. He says,"Do not keep silent, oh God of my praise, for the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful have opened against me. They have spoken against me with a lying tongue. They have also surrounded me with words of hatred and fought against me without a cause. In return for my love, they are my accusers. But I give myself to prayer. Thus they have rewarded me evil for good and hatred for my love. I think all of us can identify with that statement there at a time in our lives. You meant to do something good and boy you wish you would have never messed with it. Everything like just turned back in you. But we have to realize that uh in spirit in the spiritual realm and and by the way that's what we as Christians are uh uh the Bible says that um uh that in order for us to become Christians you have to experience something called the new birth or born again or born of the spirit. Once we become born again or born of the spirit speaking about being born of the Holy Spirit, we become spiritual creatures. The Bible says that we become kings and priests. A king is a person who has authority in the on the physical realm. A priest is somebody a mediator who has authority in the spiritual realm. We become now spiritual creatures with authority to rule over the earth. That that is what we become. We become agents like uh uh she said ambassadors on the scripture that she read. We become ambassadors. We're representatives of the kingdom of God here on earth. And we have been ordained and empowered by the Holy Spirit to bring about the kingdom of God upon the earth. So if you see evil going around, don't blame God. Blame us for failing to do the things that we need to do. We need to implement the words of God. Now in the spiritual realm the currency that it is used mostly is words. Did you know that? As a matter of fact when nothing when nothing had been made or created how did things come into being created? God said God said let there be light and light came into existence. Light was revealed. Light was manifested. God spoken every time. See, words cannot be uttered without breath coming out of one's mouth. That's what makes a sound. So when Jesus said in John, I think it's 6:33, the words that I speak to you, they are spirit and they are life. You see the words of God, when God speaks, there's life in his word. The word of God is alive. The word of God is powerful. The word of God brings things about. So in the spiritual realm, words are the currency that it is used. Once the word is spoken, that word goes out. I think it's Isaiah says uh God says, "My word goes forth and it accomplish the purpose for which I send it out." Like the rain goes up into the mountain, comes down the river, but eventually winds up back in the ocean. And this is what the word of God is. The word of God has a purpose. But we also have to realize that in the spiritual realm, there's an adversary. He's called Satan, the devil. One of his names is the accuser of the brethren. He's also called a slanderer. He's also called a liar. And when David is speaking here in in this psalm, David is speaking about words. Why? Because the battle that takes place in our battlefield, which is the spiritual realm, is a battle of words. The words of God versus the words of Satan. As a matter of fact, the very first words recorded of Satan in Genesis 3:1 is Satan saying to Adam and Eve, "Did God really say?" You see the very first act of Satan was to question the veracity of the word of God, the power of the word of God. So in reality, the whole battle that we're facing, it begins with words and words are are are the currency that is spoken in the spiritual realm. Now looking at those verses, look what it says. For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful have opened against me. This is Satan. He Jesus said Satan does not come except to steal, to kill, and to destroy. In John 10:10, so the mouths of Satan has opened against us. The wicked has spoken against us. Said, "They have spoken against me with a lying tongue. They have also surrounded me with words of hatred and they fought or contended me without cause. So we see that Satan's weapon is one of accusing. As a matter of fact, you look at the book of Job and you will see a a a rare uh insight into what goes on in the spiritual realm and how it affects us human and the physical. Satan comes in before the presence of God and begin to accuse Job. And this is a something that we need to understand that as we battle whatever it is we're battling with, whether we we're battling on the flesh with our the for the salvation of our families or whether we're battling for our health or whether we're on a struggle for for dear life or the salvation of our children or spouse or or or for the ministry that God has given us. Whatever battle is taking place, we need to realize that the battle has its origin in the spiritual realm through words. Words that are spoken. Satan saying, "You are not worthy to do this. You're nothing but a loser. You're a sinner. You're this or that." And those words condemning and accusing full of hatred and venom are continuously being uttered by Satan against us. And then we need to understand that there is a righteous God, a righteous judge who has also spoken the word. Now to bring it into perspective as to what the sacrifice that Jesus made for us entails, I will go as far as to say that not only are words the currency that uh that is used in the spiritual realm, but I would say what backs up that currency is shed blood. What backs up that currency is shed blood. Just like the money, you know, uh um there was a time when all the gold in Fort Knox uh backed up the the dollar. The dollar the the paper money has no value. You know, that could be monopoly in Cuba where I'm from. That's what the money is is monopoly has no value. They don't have no economy. They don't have nothing. So what backs up the the currency in the natural is gold or an econ or an economic system in today's day. Well, these words are backed by shed blood because when God uh uh was speaking to Moses says the life is in the blood and without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. meaning that when when the blood that is in us when is shed the spirit leaves because the life which is the spirit is in the blood. Uh let me bring a couple of scriptures here so that I can bring this into focus. In Hebrews 12 24 speaking about how we the church of the firstborn how we have come. He said we have come to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel. We need to understand uh uh uh that blood shed blood speaks and the battle that it is fought in the realm of the spirit through words. Your words better be backed up by something when you're doing spiritual battle when you're speaking. And blood is what does it? Now notice that it uses the blood of Abel. Why? Why does it use the blood of Abel as an example? Why? Because Abel was the very first murder victim. As a matter of fact, there were probably just four people in the world at that time. Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel. And then Abel, I mean, Cain fails to bring the proper sacrifice. Adam when he uh uh was pardoned by God and and and and God himself slaying an animal and clothed Adam and Eve with with with the height of these animals that were slain. He taught them how to atone for their sins. The fact that without the shedding of blood, there's no remission of sin. When Abel came in, he offered a blood sacrifice that spoke of the one day God will bring about his son who would shed his blood and pay in full the debt of sin, give value to the currency and pay the debt off. But Cain came in and he offer fruits h probably the very best grapes or or or or uh uh produce that he could bring which symbolizes the works of man. man cannot save himself. And so God said to him, you are angry and your face is cast down because your sacrifice has not been accepted. But if you offer the right sacrifice, won't you be accepted? Why don't you just offer the right sacrifice? And if you don't, if you refuse to obey the words that I'm speaking to you, sin is at the door and is crouching and it desires to have you. But you must master it. This is what God said to Cain. But Cain because he refused the word of God, the spirit of murder, which is what Satan is because Jesus called Satan a a a father of lies and a murderer from the very beginning. The spirit of Satan came into Cain and kill Abel. And this innocent blood was shed. And now this innocent blood from the ground cried out for vengeance. And ever since that time, all of the blood of all of the people that had been shed had been cried out for vengeance. You see that in Revelation, I believe chapter 6 and the opening of the fifth seal, I believe it is, where it says under the altar is sold the souls of those who have been murdered. And they cried out, "How long, Lord, righteous and just, before you judge them?" So you see, blood speaks. And in this case, Satan feeds on the shed blood of innocent people. This is what empowers his words. You know, the I if you could go back to to to to the uh and and listen in the spiritual realm uh uh to the voice of the blood, you would hear the blood of the martyr said, "Watch out. Watch out because Satan can't kill you." Look at how many Christians all the way from uh for 300 years from the beginning of of the church were murdered, burned alive and and all of the things that were done to them. So the blood speaks uh uh in the spiritual realm, but it says that in Jesus uh and I'll repeat it again in Hebrews 12:24. Jesus who is the mediator of the new covenant has the blood sprinkling that speaks better or more powerful things. So you see when we say in the name of Jesus we're not just tagging a name to it. We're speaking about the mediator of the new covenant who signed that covenant with his very own blood. Cuz the Bible says that he shed through the eternal spirit his blood. When Jesus was on the cross and his blood was being shed, his blood was taken by the eternal spirit into the holy place in in heaven, the holy of holies into the mercy seat and it was sprinkled there. And you see, and now the Bible says that you and I who have accepted Jesus Christ as savior and lord are sitted seated. We live that's our address. We live with the Lord Jesus Christ. And so when Satan comes in and accuses and say this lies against me whether they may have a base on truth or whatever that blood of sprinkler that was sprinkled on the mercies it speaks on my behalf. Hallelujah. And said his sins are covered his sins are forgiven. He has been redeemed. Hallelujah. And so therefore the accusing words of the enemy are being neutralized. We see we need to understand that the living word of God becomes the antidote for the venom of uh the poisonous venom that Satan is a snake who bites at our heels. Amen. Are we in agreement so far? Praise God. Hallelujah. In Revelation 138, and now I'm going to bring something here that will get us our minds thinking. In Revelation 13:8 says, "The book of life of the lamb slain from the foundation of the world." H I'm going to ask you this question and I want you to ponder it. If Adam and Eve had never sinned and all of their children never sinned and we live on a world that peace and and no sin will had ever enter into our world, we will be living today on the greatest place that that we could ever think of. If that would had happened, would Jesus have to die, right? He didn't have to die because there was no sin. But yet, the Bible says that Jesus was slain from the foundation of the world. What does that mean? What does it mean that Jesus shed his blood from the foundation of the world? What how does that work? You know what I believe that says? That says that God said, "I am going to create man in our image and in our likeness, we're going to give him freedom to choose. We're going to make him a free moral agent. And if he so chooses to disobey our word, God speaking to himself, God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit." If man would choose to disobey God's word, which immediately would require this, he says, "We will provide the shed blood the foundation." See, imagine this. Here's this huge uh uh uh table and and this is way before anything's been created. God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. They're sitting and as God as as they are one, they can see everything. Did you know that God eons ago before anything was created so you and so me? Did you know that his soul is here together? Did you know that God knew every sin that we ever committed as that would ever come in? He knew everything. Some of you might be here today thinking, "How can God ever forgive me?" If if if if if you would only know how filthy and how dirty and how many did you know that before God ever spoke a single grain of sand into existence, he looked at that scenario. He saw all of our sins. Everything is open and plain to he saw it all. And he said, "If that is the case, I will provide hallelujah the blood, the shed blood that will speak of greater things." You You see, basically what I'm trying to say is the word of God is more powerful than anything can Satan ever do or say. If God said it, it is it because God cannot lie. He's not man. So even if we would have been perfect and never sin, the fact that God said, "I will give up my son for you if it's needed," was good enough. was good enough. And you see what why why that is important is because we have promises now that has been given to us. Can God keep those promises? Oh, praise God. See in first Peter 1:20, Peter frames it this way. He indeed speaking about Jesus was fore orained before the foundation of the world but was manifest in this last times for you. Meaning God from the foundation of the world says if need be I will provide the blood that will speak of your redemption. And Peter says we needed it. This is why Jesus came in this age. We needed we needed to be redeemed. Is anybody here agrees that we need redemption, right? We need we need something to speak on our behalf that will shut out that accuser that keeps telling us all of the things and reminding us of all of the things all the time. Oh, glory to God. Hallelujah. This is how I wrote it when I was meditating on it. God said, "Let us make man in our image, and if he fails and becomes worthy of death, we will supply the shed blood needed to redeem him." So, in essence, the word of God, his promises spoken before the creation, they're alive. The promises of God are alive. You see, they're they're they're they're an entity that lives and moves that exists and that it meets whatever need is required at the time that it is required. It meets the needs of today. It met the needs of yesterday and it meets the needs of tomorrow. You see, I don't care whatever Satan has planned against you in your life and how many traps and and and things you may fall into, but there is a guarantee that the blood that Jesus shed speaks confirms the promises of God that it they're powerful enough to redeem us if we were to fall. Amen. That's that that is what it's saying. Praise God. Hallelujah. And uh this living word or alive word is wonderfully and powerfully enough to deliver us from the venom of Satan accusing words. This living word of God is the antidote against the power of the onslaught of death that is brought about by our slandering enemy. Now in our text in Psalm 109 where we started, I want to show you two verses. Why is David praying this prayer? verse 21 and 22. Psalm 109 verse 21 and 22. David says, "But you, oh God, the Lord, deal with me for your name's sake because your mercy is good. Deliver me." In other words, that blood that testify my behalf is good enough, powerful enough, deliver me. Why? Verse 22, for I am poor and needed, and my heart is wounded within me. Did you know that all of us here at some time or the other have been wounded by words? As a matter of fact, did you know that uh most of us probably ventures to say all of us to some extent are a reflection or we have been shaped or molded by words that were speaking to us whether good or bad. Ain't that the truth? See, words have the power to shape. How many know that having a mother and a father that are loving and are encouragement and encouragement and you know I remember my son when he kept saying oh but I mean oh that mom's doing what I think and this and that and the other I said uh uh son if they didn't hire you they missed on the best person on the world because I know you have it within you son you know you you got to be there for your children you got to be there to encourage them you got to be there to to bring them but there's also a an enemy who has an army army of people and a lot of times Christians themselves who will speak the wrong words. You know did you know that probably more people are hurt and wounded in church than in the world. I mean churches are prime place for you to get stabbed in the back or stab in the heart because the gossip and all the things that is in it. So we are basically shaped and molded by the way we view the world and by the way we view oursel through words that have wounded us. David is he's saying it in Psalm 109 he says I am poor and needy. I'm I'm lacking something. And that's because my heart has been wounded. Did you know that you can take a child that is stray a student at at whatever points of their development and have a tragic thing happen? Maybe a a grandma or grandpa that they love a lot die or a divorce in in in the home or something like that and it just basically destroys their lives sometimes to these things happen. And and the reason why it causes this is because that's part of it their foundation. And when the foundation is shaken or is broken or it's cracked, something falls. and and and and and so we need to understand that all of us need to connect with this living word, this word that is able to bring about the accusations of the enemy to silence them. Because you see, if we don't have that other voice speaking in our ears negative things, we wouldn't have the problem. You know, today they they portray like a a good angel and and a little devil and and one speaking to the other one. You know, they they want to portray that. But we need to understand that as Christians, we have access. We have a blood that speaks on our behalf. Hallelujah. There's a blood that was shed in Calvar's cross that has been taken by the Holy Spirit into the Holy of Holies and is seated there on the mercy seat where Jesus is sitted. And when Satan goes before God and begins to unload upon you and unloads all of this garbage and all this thing that that you have done and and he embellishes and he lies all these things and as he brings out this accusation seeking to destroy your moral fiber seeking to destroy your drive what makes you go there's a blood that speaks Jesus all the father does he looks to Jesus and Jesus says he or She is under my blood. Hallelujah. Then the blood speaks on our behalf. He said he is righteous. She is holy. She is able to do it. She's able to accomplish it. She's able to bring it about. Why? Because that the the word that is spoken is backed up by a God who said, "If you need to be set free, I will set you free. They that call upon the name of the Lord shall be delivered." That is a promise of God that cannot fail. Amen. Oh, glory to God. Hallelujah. You see, this is not just the Bible. This is a Bible in that is pages and printed and stuff like that. But in there, there's a wealth of life. Hallelujah. That is waited to be waiting to be tapped into by somebody who's there to believe on the promises of God. We will be so much better. You know, you trust the world. And before you did, you know that they're putting a pharmacy on almost every corner. Now they're making it fast so you can drive through and get your drugs. You know, in another 20 years, everybody will be hooked up to some kind of a drug cuz can't handle can't handle what we see. Can't handle what we see here. Global warming, global freezing, nuclear war, AIDS, all of in the natural everything is a mess. But yet for a Christian, he can come into the peace of God. Hallelujah. He says, "This is the day that the Lord has made. God put me on this day." Hallelujah. And my God, I'm going to praise him and worship him and I'm going to rejoice that I'm part of this day. Hallelujah. Amen. That's that that's that's me taking a hold of something that's full of life. And guess what? That life is going to enter into me. And that life is going to manifest in me and through me. Hallelujah. and through my wife and through our children and through our granddaughter and through our friends and to our family. Why? Because whatever words you're feeding on, that is what you're going to produce. If you feed on the lies of the enemy, you don't bring anything forward. As a matter of fact, you go to uh Samuel chapter 1, and there was a woman, I think her name was Hannah, and she was married to to a guy, I don't know, Arcana might have been his name. This guy had two wives. And back in in those days, a wife was seen like a a fruitful vine. She was supposed to provide as many children for her husband. and and this other wife that that he had uh uh this man had man she was producing one child after the other one like watermelon seed she was feeding one after the other pardon and she couldn't bear no children she couldn't bear no children her husband loved her and her husband was being kind to her and giving everything that she could but but she just couldn't one day as they went up to the uh uh uh to to where the tabernacle was to worship. She wouldn't need she when she went over there. She got as close to to to the tabernacle as she could because she knew that's where the word of God was. That's the place where God dwell. He dwells in the holy place. So she got by the door and she was grieving spirit. She was crying. You know what she was saying? I am not fulfilling my purpose. I am not fulfilling my purpose. I am not able to bring forth what God created me for. God created me to bear him fruit. One of the psalms says the fruit of the womb is his reward. Every child that bursts the the womb and comes out belongs to God. Hallelujah. Because that what God created us for to him righteous offspring, right? And so she's crying and she's crying and weeping. And the high priest, Eli, says to her, "Woman, can't you get go get drunk someplace else? You know, do you have to come to the tent to the temple to get drunk? I mean, here's a whole camp. Everybody's having a big party. Find the tree someplace and get drunk there. Why do you have to do it by, you know, by the door of the temple?" And and and it's amazing because the Bible says that when the Holy Spirit fell upon the 120 that were in the upper room, they were acting drunk. This woman is in travail in the spiritual realm. See, she's a woman. She's not allowed. She's not a priest. She's not allowed into the place where God is. She gets as close as she can. And she begins to travail and said, "I got something within me that I can't bring out that the enemy is blocking out. and I need some words spoken on my behalf to bring it out. Right? And so as she's grieving and the high priest, who by the way is the highest man representative to God to the people who has the power to speak on her behalf, what does he call her? A drunker. And she says, "I am not drunk." And you know what she said? She says, if you read it in the original King James, I am not a daughter of Bile. I am not a daughter of wickedness. I am not worthless. That's what she was saying. I am not worthless. I had Satan telling me since I was born that I am worthless. I have this other woman that that is married to her husband telling her that she is worthless. And she's had the whole camp, everybody telling her that she's worthless. But she came before the presence of God and she said, "I am not worthless. I am a child of God. I am a Jewish woman. I belong to the promises of God." Hallelujah. And all I need is God to speak on my behalf. Oh, glory to God. The high priest, I can just see him back up like, "Wow, those words came out of her with power." Like when they came to get Jesus and Jesus said, "Here I am." And they all fell back. He goes back and said, "Wow, hey, hey, hey woman, may the God of Israel bless you with what you need." Hallelujah. And as soon as those words were spoken, see, they were spoken by the man who was in the position. He was the priest. He was the one that had power or access authority. He was mediator between God and man. And as soon as he spoke, that woman conceived. Nine months later, she gave son to a prophet of God. One of the greatest prophet of the Old Testament. So you see, you need to understand that within you, you may not see yourself as much and people around you may not see you as much and everybody may condemn you, but within you there's a Samuel waiting to come out. Within you, hallelujah, within you, there's something that God has placed in there and that is waiting to get forth. And all he needs is for a word to be spoken. We're always looking for for for for a man who isn't a a mediator to speak it. Well, guess who your mediator is? His name is Jesus. Hallelujah. And guess what? He's seated right now. He's face to face with God the Father. Okay? And when Satan goes and and and and brings your name before God to accuse you, that's an opportunity for Jesus to say, "Hey, Father, not only did I forgive her, but here's the plan that I got for her." Hallelujah. I got a Samuel. I got a Samson. I got a David. I got something inside that person and I'm going to speak it and I'm going to bring it out. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. So you see the living word is not living to us until we connect with it and make it alive for us. You see if the Bible says the Lord is my healer. Amen. And I have cancer coming out of my ear. Who do I believe? Do I look in the mirror? Man, I'm in pain and I really have this thing. Or who do I believe? Is the Lord my healer or not? See, God has this little way of doing things. He always waits until the last second somehow. You see, with Abraham, it was bringing the knife all the way down to what was most precious to him. Just as he started to come down the end, you say, Abraham, Abraham, stop it. Now, I know that you're believing. In in I think Romans Paul says Abraham against hope believe that if he kill his own son that God can bring him back to life. You see if whatever it is that Satan has brought against you will kill you, you will not die. Jesus said he who believes in me will never die. I believe that one day I had the I was asleep and I woke up in the middle of the night like an elephant. I set on my chest. Man, I don't know if I was having a heart attack or you know, I couldn't breathe. It was just like then all of a sudden like my spirit stood up and I'm standing on our front door. We live there in Wimon and we have a a window on the door. I look and right through the window there's this 9 10t tall dude all with a cape all over him and the sickle of death. And I mean I'm seeing this thing and in the natural I'm like my god this is a grim ripper you know this thing is coming over. But immediately my spirit rose up in me that scripture that I just told you where say, "Hey, Jesus says I will never die if I believe in him." When God says for me, he's going to send a big white lemon with a bunch of angels and I'm going to be taken off to glory. Hallelujah. First class. So I told that dude at the door said, "Amen. You got the wrong door. Get out." Hallelujah. And immediately I woke up back in my van over there and I said, "Well, glory to God. There's power of the living word of God. Hallelujah. Woo. Oh, glory to God. Hallelujah. I apologize for getting so excited, but oh man, there's nothing that I love more than the word. Hallelujah. My car says Hebrews 10:23 on my license plate. He that promises faithful. I know the promises of God are true. I seen I'm 30 years my wife and I we celebrated 39 years of marriage. When we got married uh Friday was our uh 39th anniversary. When we got married they nobody would bet that we would last over a month. Not one single person in the family you could find. But even through those dark years, God was faithful. And one day we both got saved on a Wednesday night, June 2nd, 1976. Eight years later, we walked out to the front of Assembly of God Church. And right then and there, we gave our souls. And and for this, not only our 29 years, but the 31 years that we've been saved, I can stand and say to you with all of my heart that God is a faithful God. He may not be faithful in the way you think of it that you need a boat and a Cadillac and and and and all the things. I'm talking about faithful when it comes to life and death. Jesus says, "I come to give you life and to give you abundant life." Hallelujah. And I got that abundant life. I can sleep on a rock. I can sleep under the water. I can sleep anywhere. Hallelujah. I can I have peace regardless of what? See, we raised three teenagers when uh uh I noticed you had the picture of the three boys. Boy, talk about faith being tested when they become into the age. And I remember having to get up at 5:00 in the morning to go to work and being 3:00 in the morning and and Lisa, our daughter, who's the saintly saint that comes over here would drive up on the driveway 3:00 in the morning and I hear the door slam. Thank you, Lord. You brought her home. You're faithful. when I hear the door open, I hear going, you know, you do that with three kids, three teenagers, you know, as they go through those growing years. And every single time things look bad or look desperate, I could go to God and said, "I have a promise for you, God." Because you see, God spoke to us one day when they were like 11, 12, and 13. And God spoke to my heart and says, "You know what? Satan can steal from you, but he can't steal from me." And I said, "What do you mean by that, Lord?" He said, "Give me your children and Satan will never be able to sell them." So my wife and I actually had a dinner, had a communion dinner, and we offer our kids and their future up to God right then and there. And then from then on, we look at our kids as adopted. God gave it to us to to raise them. But in reality, he is responsible for he's responsible for their future. He's responsible for the outcome of their life. And every time a dark time would come, we could say, "God, you promise they're your children, and you have power, more power than Satan has." And you know what? When it looked like it was hopeless, all of the sudden things change. Ain't that true? All of us who've been in the Lord a while, that that God just just comes through, doesn't he? So what I'm trying to say is that the living word of God when he finds the home within us you becom Previous Next Home

THE BATTLE (SKIRMISH) & THE WAR The objective of The Battle (Skirmish) & The War is to help believers understand the spiritual distinction between the daily battles they face and the overarching war between God and Satan. It seeks to reveal the biblical foundation for why we are in this war, the importance of choosing God’s side, and how victory is secured through Christ. By connecting Genesis, Revelation, and other key scriptures, the teaching provides clarity, encouragement, and a call to live with awareness, faith, and testimony as conquerors in Christ. THE BATTLE (SKIRMISH) & THE WAR Minister Lisa Kane June 26, 2021 Objective: The objective of The Battle (Skirmish) & The War is to help believers understand the spiritual distinction between the daily battles they face and the overarching war between God and Satan. Synopsis: In The Battle (Skirmish) & The War, Minister Lisa Kane explains that while believers face daily battles—or skirmishes—these are part of a much larger spiritual war. Drawing parallels with history, such as the battle of Gettysburg within the Civil War, she highlights how some battles may seem small, but all play a role in the ultimate outcome. The war itself began in the Garden of Eden, when Lucifer, filled with jealousy over God’s relationship with Adam, sought to undermine humanity in order to wound God. Through Genesis, Lisa clarifies common misconceptions about creation and demonstrates how Adam’s unique relationship with God became a target of Satan’s envy. Lucifer’s deception of Eve reveals the enemy’s strategy: he seeks to separate us from God because he hates the attention and love God lavishes on His children, who are made in His image. This is why humanity is caught in a spiritual war—because Satan attacks what God loves most. Scripture shows that the war’s outcome is already decided: those who stand with God are victorious, for Satan’s ultimate end is the lake of fire (Revelation 20:10). Yet, believers must still engage in daily skirmishes. Minister Lisa emphasizes that victory in these battles comes through the blood of Jesus, the word of our testimony, and living as new creations in Christ (Romans 8:37, Revelation 12:11, 2 Corinthians 5:17). Ultimately, the message calls Christians to choose God, put Him first, and walk in His presence. Each testimony of victory strengthens others, proving that through Christ we are “more than conquerors.” The war is already won, but the battles we fight daily testify of our faith and proclaim God’s triumph over the enemy. Inspired Teaching: I’m sure you understand what the difference between a battle and the war is but just in case, the battle are small skirmishes in the war and the war is the overall event. For example, the battle of Gettysburg was a battle within the Civil War. Some battles affect the outcome of the war and others have little impact but are important, nonetheless. The same is true for a believer. We deal with battles or skirmishes in our everyday lives but we are in an overall war. I asked myself, why are we in a war and what is this war we’re in? Sneak peak, if you’re on God’s side, you win the war. Revelation 20:10 NKJV 10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where[a] the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Notice, I said if you’re on God’s side. So far, now we know, we need to choose a side…again, why? Do you know why you’re in this war? It’s likely you don’t and this message will help you understand the larger picture and I hope it changes your paradigm, thinking of what being a Christian means. And it begins in Genesis. Before we continue, I need to clarify ‘confusion’ related to Genesis chapters 1 and 2. There are not two Adam’s and there are not two Eve’s, etc. Chapter 1 is a supply list of what God creates and chapter 2 clarifies what He put into action. Think of it like this…if you plan to build a house, or fix a car, or create a quilt, you need all your supplies before you begin but it doesn’t become a house, or a fixed car, or a quilt until it’s put together or ‘completed’ or ‘finished’. Genesis 2:1 NKJV 2 Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. See, He completed ‘creation’ at the end of verse one in chapter 2. That means now that it’s finished, it’s the universe. But notice what the author says in verse 5 chapter 2: Genesis 2:5 NKJV 5 before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground; Notice, He created (formed) male and female in chapter 1 but didn’t put him into creation until Genesis 2:7-8. Genesis 1:27 NJKV 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Genesis 2:7-8 NKJV 7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.8 The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. So, one Adam and one Eve. No confusion. Now let’s take a look at ‘why’ we’re in a war. Genesis 2:19-20 continues to show ‘how’ God creates animals and birds. Again, they were formed in chapter 1 and brought to Adam in chapter 2 for naming. Genesis 2:19-20 NKJV 19 Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to [a]Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. There are several mysteries within these two verses that will change your paradigm as a Christian. First, God wants to spend time with Adam. Adam was created in His image. Adam is the only creature that can procreate and produce more in His image. Angels cannot mate with other Angels nor procreate more Angels, and yes, there are female Angels. Zechariah 5:9 NKJV 9 Then I raised my eyes and looked, and there were two women, coming with the wind in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork, and they lifted up the basket between earth and heaven. However, we do know that Angels mated with women on the Earth and produced Giants. Genesis 6:4 NKJV 4 There were [a]giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. It took the human female host to actually produce a being and even then, those beings, the giants were cursed and were not given a soul/spirit. There are some teachings that even think these giants became the demons we deal with today. You can research that on your own. God created us in His image and we’re able to produce more of us in His image. God wanted to spend time with Adam to get to know Him because Adam was unique and had his own personality. Just like you and I have our own personalities. Let me give you an example (scenario) of how this time was spent with Adam. God brought a male and female type of big gray fat things to Adam to name. God asks him, what do you want to call these? Adam says, I’m going to call them elephants because they have trunks. God smiles. Then Adam says, I have a question though. God says, oh, ask. Adam says, in all the previous big creatures, you gave them long strong thick tales to help support them (dinosaurs) and here, you gave the elephants long skinny tales. Why? That gives you an idea of the relationship building up between God and Adam. There’s another mystery you want to know while you’re here. (Rabbit trail…) Romans 6:23 NKJV 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the [a]gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. No sin, no aging. We don’t know Adam’s age here but he remains fully mature during this time because he had not sinned yet. Here’s another mystery and this one tells you ‘why’ we’re in this war. Ezekiel 28:13 NKJV 13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes Was prepared for you on the day you were created. Look who was in the Garden of Eden, Lucifer. He was the most beautiful creature ever created and I’m sure you’re saying to yourself at this moment, ‘this isn’t a mystery’. We know he was there because he deceived Eve.Theologians will tell you Ezekial 28:13 confirms that the ‘serpent’ was Lucifer but I take it one step further and say that Lucifer was watching God and Adam during this time where it was just the two of them. In fact, he was watching and seething. He was angry. He couldn’t believe that God would give ‘all’ His attention to this worthless, frail creature called a human being – named Adam. He was thinking that God should be giving him His attention and only to him. He wanted God to worship him and it made him angry that He wasn’t. In fact, Lucifer came to the conclusion that he will show God how stupid and frail these human beings can be, which reveals another mystery. Notice Lucifer went after Eve and not Adam. Genesis 3:1 NKJV 3 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’? He didn’t touch Adam because Adam spent quality time with God. Hmmm…maybe if you spent quality time with God, Satan wouldn’t touch you?!?! So, Lucifer wanted God to worship him. Instead, God spent time with Adam and built up a relationship because Adam was His son made in His image. When you have your first child, it is absolutely amazing to hold that beautiful baby in your arms. And as they grow, you get to see what type of personality comes out and what type of person that baby becomes. It’s awesome. That’s what God wanted to see with us. He was thrilled and made a place for us to live (Earth) so he could see that, but Lucifer hated God so much that he went after God’s most precious loved commodity – man. That’s why we’re in war. It’s because Satan hates God so much that he believes if he can get you, he will hurt God. John 3:16 NKJV 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Doesn’t John 3:16 mean more to you now that you know why you’re in this war? It’s similar to America getting drawn into WW2 when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. You were drawn into this war. Notice the issue here – Satan wants to hurt God by making you fail. Do you want to let Satan succeed? Do you really want to hurt God’s feelings? Every battle you face each day can be either a victory or defeat. That’s up to you. God already sent His Son Jesus to ‘redeem’ you with the blood. You have a choice. Romans 8:37 NKJV 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Revelation 3:21 NKJV 21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. Revelation 12:11 NJKV 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. How do you be more than a conqueror and/or how do you overcome daily battles/skirmishes? By the word of your testimony. Every battle you win in this war, tells others they can win too. 2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Here’s the best part. When you make God a priority in your life, (YOUR CHOICE) you become a new creature. That means those old things won’t affect you anymore. You overcame them. That means you have a testimony to share. SHARE IT! Psalm 91:1-3 NKJV He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” 3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the [a]fowler from the perilous pestilence. You see, when you put God first, you enter His presence. You seek Him out. You put Him first. That’s saying to Satan, YOU CHOOSE to WORSHIP GOD and not him. HALLELUJAH! Choose God and win the battles. You’ve already won the war. Previous Next Home
- THE POWER OF GOD | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)
THE POWER OF GOD The objective of this teaching is to reveal how the true power of God operates through the message of the cross, under the influence of divine wisdom and meekness. It aims to help believers understand that God’s power is not given for destruction or domination, but for liberation, deliverance, and the salvation of humankind. By filtering power through the cross, Christians can exercise authority rightly—against spiritual forces of darkness and not against flesh and blood—so that God’s mercy and truth are revealed to the world. THE POWER OF GOD Pastor Marcos Marrero January 1, 1900 Objective: The objective of this teaching is to reveal how the true power of God operates through the message of the cross, under the influence of divine wisdom and meekness. Synopsis: In The Power of God, Pastor Marcos contrasts the world’s understanding of wisdom and power with God’s. While human rulers often wield authority selfishly and foolishly, God demonstrates that true power is always controlled by wisdom and guided by mercy. Jesus’ rebuke of the disciples when they wished to call down fire on their enemies illustrates that divine power is never for destruction but for salvation. The teaching highlights that worldly wisdom is unstable and dangerous because it lacks the safeguard of meekness. In contrast, heavenly wisdom operates with humility, ensuring that God’s power is never abused. The cross is revealed as the mechanism that activates and governs God’s power within believers—what appears to the carnal mind as weakness is, in reality, the source of divine strength and deliverance. Pastor Marcos explains that Psalm 149, when viewed through the cross, calls Christians not to wage war against people, but against spiritual rulers of darkness. The true enemy is not humanity, but the kingdom of darkness that manipulates people into conflict and destruction. Thus, the church’s mission is to liberate, not oppress, by exercising spiritual authority through prayer, the Word of God, and Christlike mercy. The believer’s call is to let every motive pass through the cross, where selfish desires die and God resurrects only what aligns with His purpose. This inward deliverance produces maturity, which in turn empowers communal intercession and revival. As Christians live in the reality of “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Col. 1:27), the power of God is revealed—not as worldly domination, but as the liberating force of truth, mercy, and resurrection life that transforms communities and defeats the kingdom of darkness. Inspired Teaching: 1 Corinthians 1:18 “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” There are two things in life that affect all humans: Wisdom and Power. If we define Power as ruling authority, we are all under the power of authorities that rule over us, no matter what nation we live in. If you are alive somewhere in this world, you are living under somebody’s law/rule. And if we define Wisdom as the ability of those who have power to rule over us, to do it wisely and for the betterment of those over whom they govern, then, there are a lot of foolish people in power. It has been my experience for most of my adult life that those who have power to rule over my actions are always more interested in meeting their own needs instead of mine. Since God is the Almighty, and all wisdom and power originate from Him, it behooves us to understand how the power of an Almighty God is always under the control of His wisdom. How many times do we as humans have wished that God would do something to some fool out there that is out and about doing harm to others through the power that they posses over them? Luke 9:54 “And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, ‘Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?’” If we ever wished that, I guess we were not the first. But we can learn a lot about God’s wisdom from the answer that Jesus gave His disciples. Luke 9:55 “But He turned and rebuked them, and said, ‘You do not know what manner of spirit (influence) you are of (or under). For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.’ And they went to another village.” Here we learn that wisdom is a spirit or an influence, and that foolishness is a spiritual influence as well that can bring much harm. We also learn that the wisdom of God saves men’s life from destruction, and that power in the wrong hands can bring about the destruction of men through the spirit of foolishness working through them. James 3:13 “Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works (actions) are done in the meekness of wisdom.” So that the wisdom that comes from above, the wisdom that controls the power that has been given to those of us who believe, has a safety that overrides the trigger, this safety is called meekness, and it assures us that the power given to us will not be abused. James 3:15 “This wisdom (foolishness, also known as earthly wisdom) does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic.” The so call wisdom of this world, has no safety on its trigger, for it is activated by the human senses, and it goes off when you least expect it. 1 Corinthians 1:20 “Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? Now we understand why deliverance plays such a big role in the ability of Christians to exercise God’s power here on the earth. Worldly Christians whose nature is governed by the sentiments of their flesh, can cause a lot of harm to those whom God is trying to save. Were not the same Samaritans that rejected Jesus at first, that had some disciples wanting to destroy them, that later received the Gospel with joy when Phillip preached to them about the resurrected Christ? Which brings us back to the mechanism that controls the trigger of the power of God that has been vested on those of us who believe: 1 Corinthians 1:18 “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” So that the power of God that has been vested on those of us who believe, has to be activated through the cross, something that seems foolish to our carnal mind, for in the cross we see nothing but weakness and death. Let us ask one very basic question first: What kind of power from God has been vested on those of us who believe? Psalm 149:6-9 “Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand, to execute vengeance on the nations, and punishments on the peoples; to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute on them the written judgment—this honor have all His saints. Praise the Lord!” Now if we look at Psalm 149 from the earthly wisdom that God calls foolishness, the church would be an aggressive entity declaring war on the unbelieving nations and warring against them in order to overcome them and to enforce our rule over them. To achieve that we would have to kill the people who oppose our rule, and destroy the nations that do not comply with our Christian doctrine, if that was the church’s doctrine. But if we look at Psalm 149 through the filter of the cross, we find what Jesus taught us, and which is the real doctrine of the church: For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them. How do we rightly judge the power of God that has been vested on us through the filter of the cross? Ephesians 6:12 “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts (armies) of wickedness in the heavenly places.” The cross opens our eyes to the spiritual reality that our power from God is not to be used against humankind, but rather, against the spiritual wickedness that oppresses humankind. We are to be liberators, not oppressors like them. How does the church implement the power of God that it has been endowed with, for the liberation of humankind? First we identify the enemy; who are the nations, who are the peoples, and who are their kings and who are their nobles, that we are to subdue in accordance with Psalm 149? The kingdom of darkness has a structure, just like the world has a structure wherein the nations fit together. The nations in the world have armies and police units to enforce the rules that empower their rulers over the peoples they govern, it is the same in the kingdom of darkness. It is against the kingdom of darkness that all Christians are called to enforce mastery over, to defeat their nations, and to inflict punishment in their demonic populace, and to do so by capturing their leaders and their nobles and binding them with fetters of iron: that is, to execute on them the written judgment, God’s Word! In summary, we have been empowered by God to fight against a spiritual army of wickedness that resides in the heavenly places, an invisible realm that requires of us to have spiritual discernment. The rulers of this demonic army hide in the darkness of man’s ignorance of their existence, and continuously promote hatred and discord between the human race, so that we are always fighting and blaming one another for the wrong that is all around us, unawares that all the chaos and mayhem is always the result of demonic instigations. John 8:32 “And you shall know the truth, and the and the truth shall make you free.” Truth is enlightenment, if I know that my human adversaries are not my real enemies, then the power of God is activated within me in order for me to defeat the real enemy, which is the spiritual stronghold that rules over my human enemies and causes them to contend against me. So that now I am not just waging war against spiritual forces for the sake of overcoming them, by I see a loftier goal, the liberation of my human comrades who unknowingly have become a weapon of our real enemy, the devil, who manipulates them from the kingdom of darkness. How do I do that? By following and executing God’s written judgments. Luke 6:27-28 “But I say to you who hear: Love your (human) enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.” And here is where the cross comes in: Luke 6:36 “Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.” When the mercy that God revealed on the cross towards us humans is our motive, the safety is removed from the trigger of God’s power, for He knows that our aim now is to liberate humanity and not to conquer them. 1 Corinthians 1:23 “But we preach Christ crucified…” The two-edge sword of God’s Word is to be applied both ways, first personally, and then within the Christian community of saints, the local church, that aims to bring deliverance into their areas of influence. Nothing that we ever do as believers, spiritually or in everyday life, can ever be accepted by God except that it dies first on the cross, for its death on the cross of Christ will reveal the true motive behind it; and if the motive for our actions is God’s motive, then it will be resurrected by God and used as a lethal weapon that utterly annihilates the enemy. Colossians 2:15 “Having disarmed principalities and powers, He (Jesus) made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it (the cross).” So that true deliverance begins within the motives and intents of our hearts, and as we open our hearts to the introspection of God’s Word, Jesus faithfully takes to the cross all our selfishness and foolish desires, and He nails them there for all to see. But it is there, as our earthly desires languish on the painful and slow death of the cross, that our spiritual eyes are opened to the reality of life, and our priorities begin to change. All of the sudden this world begins to lose its luster and those things that seemed so real to us at one time in life, now look more like refuse and we wonder what in the world it was that ever attracted us to them. It is when a community of saints reach that point of maturity in their personal lives that communal intercession begins to take shape. As our Lord begins to move in them and through them as a single body of believers that begins to shed light upon the darkness that engulfs their community there revival begins to take place and the scales fall from the eyes of those who were walking in darkness as they are exposed to the enlightenment of the power of God, fulfilling our last Scripture. Colossians 1:27 “To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Previous Next Home
- SPIRITUAL COUNSEL | House of Faith Ministries (HoFM)
SPIRITUAL COUNSEL The objective of Spiritual Counsel is to teach believers the importance of seeking and following God’s unchanging counsel. Through biblical insight, Pastor Marcos reveals how Jesus’ advice to the church in Laodicea serves as a foundation for understanding God’s purpose, refining faith through trials, receiving spiritual covering, and restoring spiritual vision. The lesson equips believers to embrace God’s counsel for themselves and to become vessels of wise counsel for others. SPIRITUAL COUNSEL Pastor Marcos Marrero January 1, 1900 Objective: The objective of Spiritual Counsel is to teach believers the importance of seeking and following God’s unchanging counsel. Synopsis: In Spiritual Counsel, Pastor Marcos unpacks Jesus’ threefold counsel to the lukewarm church of Laodicea in Revelation 3:18—buying gold refined in fire, wearing white garments, and anointing eyes with salve. He explains that this spiritual counsel highlights salvation tested by trials, garments of righteousness refined through faith, and spiritual vision restored by God’s truth. The teaching underscores that true counsel originates from God, whose purposes never change (Hebrews 6:17). While the Laodiceans claimed self-sufficiency, they were spiritually poor, blind, and naked, needing God’s refining fire. Pastor Marcos shows that refusing God’s counsel leads to consequences such as tribulation, while embracing it brings restoration, purity, and clarity. Furthermore, the lesson connects Jesus’ counsel with the principle of ask, seek, and knock (Matthew 7:7). Believers who ask receive God’s wisdom, those who seek justice find it, and those who open their hearts to Him experience deliverance. Pastor Marcos stresses that God’s counsel is not only for personal growth but also equips His people to guide and intercede for others, as Moses did for Israel. The threefold foundation of God’s counsel—salvation refined like gold, justice sought and revealed, and deliverance through an open heart—is presented as essential to walking in His will. Ultimately, the message calls believers to reject self-reliance, open the door of their hearts to God’s Spirit, and embrace His counsel fully, both for themselves and as examples to others. Inspired Teaching: Revelation 3:18 “I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.” There are three things that Jesus counsels the church in Laodicea to do, we can call these three things the bedrock of spiritual counsel. Let us first establish the fact that one of the names of Jesus in the Old Testament identified Him with this very important ministry: Counselor! Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” As we can see God places a very high value on spiritual counsel, that is because the right counsel can deliver a person out of destruction. Counsel: Advice given as a result of consultation. Lawyer. From Webster’s definition of the word counsel, we see the idea behind it; counsel is advice given to those who seek it, and counselor is used as a title for those who render legal advice, like a lawyer. Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” Here we see a connection between the threefold counsel that Jesus gave to the Laodicea church, and the threefold aspect of seeking spiritual advice. The Laodiceans were not seeking spiritual counsel for they were saying: we have need of nothing, so that Jesus was rebuking them for their lack of understanding the true nature of their spiritual condition. Revelation 3:17 “Because you say, I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.” They had gold, but they were lacking refined gold; they had garments, but they were lacking white garments; but worst of all, they had eyes, yet they lacked spiritual vision and could not see their true condition. What is spiritual counsel? The unchangeableness of His purpose. Hebrews 6:17 “Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel (unchangeableness of His purpose), confirmed it by an oath.” Here we get to the meat of the counsel of God; God has a purpose for your life and for mine, and God has a purpose for the entire creation—that purpose is not going to change no matter what anybody does. Satan cannot stop it, man cannot stop it, circumstances can never stop God’s purpose. We are either going to be part of God’s purpose for our lives or choose not to be part of God’s purpose for our lives. If we are walking outside of the purpose that God has for our lives He gives us free advice, He counsels us to reason out with Him what the consequences are for those who choose their own will for their lives, especially if we are His. Gold is representative of God’s salvation. The Laodicea church told the Lord, we already have salvation, after all we are one of Your churches; the Lord’s reply to them was simply this: you may have My salvation but it has not been tried in the furnace of affliction, seeing that you refuse My counsel of what is best for you, here are the consequences. The consequences for refusing God’s counsel was that they would have to endure the day of His wrath here on the earth, they will have to go through the refining fire of tribulation and miss the rapture, what a loss! Garments represent our spiritual covering. White garments implies clean garments that have been washed in the refining fire of the testing of our faith. The reason why God allows His children to go through trials and tribulations is for the purpose of refining our way of thinking, that we might receive the mind of Christ and seek His purpose for our lives. Romans 13:12, 14 “...Therefore let us cast off the works (dirty garments) of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light (white garments)...But put on the Lord Jesus Christ (make His purpose for your life your covering), and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.” Eye salve represents spiritual vision. Once we submit our lives to the tutelage of God’s spiritual counsel, eye salve is applied to our spiritual eyes, and immediately we begin to see the Wonder of His Mighty Counsel that emanates from our Everlasting Father, our Prince of Peace. Ask, seek, and knock. Once the counsel of God is administered into the heart of the believer, it is up to that believer to become a wise counselor, both in word and deed, ministering to others the counsel that has been administered to them. Exodus 18:19-20 “Listen now to my voice; I will give you counsel, and God will be with you: Stand before God for the people, so that you may bring the difficulties to God. And you shall teach them the statutes and the laws, and show them the way in which they must walk and the work they must do.” God leads us by the example Jesus set for us, so those who follow God’s counsel become examples to others as to how they can bring their difficulties to God. For God gives counsel to those who teach others to follow God’s counsel. God also allows those who follow and teach His counsel to become intercessors, to stand before God for the people. All of these blessings of God’s counsel bestowed upon Moses, were in response to the people inquiring (asking) of the Lord through Moses. So that we see the connection between people asking about difficulties and God’s counsel being revealed through the man of God. But Jethro, Moses father in law counsel Moses to appoint men of truth, who fear God and hated covetousness, to help him in this ministry so that he would not burn himself out by being the only one that was able to operate in that gift. They asked and it was given to them. God’s counsel. Isaiah 16:5 “In mercy the throne will be established; and One will sit on it in truth, in the tabernacle of David, judging and seeking justice and hastening righteousness.” The second of the threefold foundation of the counsel of God is to seek justice. The majority of those who waited all day long in line to ask for God’s counsel through Moses were seeking justice, somewhere, somehow, somebody had wronged them and they were seeking deliverance from the wrong that was inflicted upon them. So that those who are in right standing with God receive His counsel when they ask, not just for themselves, but also, when they ask on behalf of those who are seeking justice. They that seek justice, find it: In God’s counsel. Isaiah 61:1 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.” Deliverance from bondage is the third of the threefold foundation of the counsel of God, and it is related to that which is deep within the human heart. To the Laodicea church Jesus said these damning words: Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door (of your heart) and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” Most Christians relate this verse of Scripture as applicable for an unbeliever that they are witnessing to, that is why it is such a damning statement, because Jesus was speaking it to one of His beloved churches. The counsel of God cannot enter into a heart that has shut the door closed to God’s prompting. The Holy Spirit is grieved every time a believer hangs the do not disturb sign on the door of their hearts. You see it is out of the heart that the issues that make a person unclean flow. Deliverance cannot take place in a person that has closed their heart to the Spirit of God. This is just the thing that brings the refining fire of God upon those who make salvation nothing more than an insurance policy, just in case eternity is real, they just do not want to end up in the wrong place. Matthew 15:18-19 “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.” The goal of the counsel of God is to deliver the heart of the man out of its vileness. A person that is fully aware of the wickedness within his/her heart, should not be afraid of opening the door of their heart to the counsel of God. You ask God for salvation, He gives it to you; you seek for God’s justice from those who wrong you, He renders it to you. Why would you fear the unlocking of your heart’s door when He comes knocking? Why is deliverance such a dreaded thing? Acts 28:27 “ For the hearts of this people have grown dull (closed). Their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, so that I should heal them.” Let us go all the way with the counsel of God right now, let us not just see with our eyes and hear with our ears, but let us open wide the door of our hearts and understand the fullness of the spiritual counsel of God. I hear Him knocking: Do you? Previous Next Home

IN WHOM IS NO DECEIT The objective of this lesson is to reveal the importance of living in authenticity before God, free from deceit and double-mindedness, as exemplified by Nathanael in John 1. Pastor Marcos emphasizes that true transformation comes when we reject the false identities and lies the enemy places upon us, and instead embrace the new nature given by God. The teaching aims to help believers recognize their real identity in Christ, overcome deception, and walk in truth that leads to spiritual deliverance and clarity of purpose. IN WHOM IS NO DECEIT Pastor Marcos Marrero January 1, 1900 Objective: The objective of this lesson is to reveal the importance of living in authenticity before God, free from deceit and double-mindedness, as exemplified by Nathanael in John 1. Synopsis: In IN WHOM IS NO DECEIT, Pastor Marcos Marrero draws from John 1:47, where Jesus declares Nathanael to be an Israelite without deceit. This profound statement sets the foundation for understanding the value of integrity and truth in the believer’s life. Nathanael, later known as Bartholomew, represents a transformation that occurs when one sheds falsehood and embraces the identity God bestows—his new name, meaning “Gift of God,” reflecting his new nature in Christ. The lesson explores how deceit operates as a spiritual counterfeit, tricking believers into identifying with a false version of themselves rather than with their true identity in Christ. Pastor Marcos explains that deceit causes instability, double-mindedness, and distance from God’s purposes. Nathanael’s encounter under the fig tree symbolized a place of spiritual decision and cleansing, where he renounced generational sins and aligned himself with God’s truth. It was this submission and authenticity that positioned him to immediately recognize Jesus as the Son of God and the King of Israel. Pastor Marcos highlights that believers, like Nathanael, must confront and renounce deceit by humbling themselves, confessing sins, and embracing deliverance through Christ. By resisting the devil, drawing near to God, and believing in the truth of God’s Word, Christians are freed from counterfeit identities and empowered to live as their authentic selves. The teaching concludes with a call to identify strongholds of deceit, reject the lies of the enemy, and embrace the reality of being the righteousness of God in Christ—living out the victory and promises that flow from a life of truth. Inspired Teaching: John 1:47 “Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him, and said of him, ‘Behold, an (a real) Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!’” Imagine having Jesus say that about us today, it would go something like this: Look everybody, here is a real Christian who has no deceit in him. The setting has Jesus calling on men that He met, and saying to them, Follow Me, Phillip is one of those men whom Jesus called, evidently Jesus was telling those He called, that He is the One of whom Moses prophesied, and that’s the reason why they should be following Him. John 1:45 “Phillip found Nathanael and said to him, ‘We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.’” Even though Nathanael was skeptical, he followed Phillip to meet this Jesus that Phillip was so excited about, and as he was approaching Jesus, our Lord made that amazing statement about him, to which he responded with the following answer. John 1:48 “Nathanael said to Him, ‘How do You know me?’ Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Before Phillip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.’” What is even more amazing to me is Nathanael’s response, how do You know me? I mean, if Jesus said that about any of us today, here is a real Christian in whom there is no deceit, we would probably turn around and look behind us, I know I would; Hey, it wouldn't be the first time I said to the Lord, are You sure You have the right man Lord? Let us see if we can sort this out, for there are a lot of symbolisms in this story; first we have Nathanael, an Israelite that was under a fig tree doing something, a fig tree is symbolic of the nation of Israel. This man had obviously been delivered from contaminated doctrines and falsehoods while under the fig tree, since Jesus said that he had no deceit in him. And perhaps our greatest clue is in the new name by which John identifies him, Nathanael; for this same man is called Bartholomew in the other gospels. John who probably wrote his gospel after he was taken up to heaven while on the island of Patmos, writes with the emphasis on spiritual truths that are revealed through natural events. Bart in front of Bartholomew, his original name, means the son of in his case the son of Holomew, or Bart-holomew; However the new name by which John calls him, Nathanael, means: The Gift of God. Remember that in biblical reasoning your name reveals your nature, a new name means that a new nature has been given to that person. John 1:49-51 “Nathanael answered and said to Him, ‘Rabbi, You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!’ Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Because I said to you, “I saw you under the fig tree,” do you believe? You will see greater things than this.’ And He said to Him, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.’” The gift of God to Bartholomew was the new nature that was imparted to him while he was under the fig tree. Something spiritual, radical, and personal, must have happened to him while under the fig tree, for when Jesus mentioned it to him, it left no doubt in his mind that Jesus was, for He had to be the Son of God, in order for Him to know about this very personal experience that he, Nathanael, obviously had with God. Can we know what happened to Nathanael while under the fig tree? Let us start with what Nathanael did not have inside of him when Jesus met him, it is clear from Jesus’ statement that Nathanael did not have any deceit in him; let us ask then, what is deceit? And how did he get rid of it? The word Deceit, or Guile as it appears in the King James version, in the original Greek means Decoy or Trick, which implies that a person can be tricked into believing in their hearts that they are a person who differs greatly, a decoy, from the real person that they are. So that their personality becomes a forgery, a copy of the original person’s soul that was originally created in the image of God. James 1:7-8 “For let not that man suppose that he will receive ( a gift, Nathanael means the gift of God) anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man (two spirited man, a copy, or a forgery of an original), unstable in all his ways.” What made Nathanael special, was that he was delivered from the deviations that had caused him to believe a lie, something about himself that he was not, and as he came into the reality of who he really was in the Lord, he was now able to accept the role for which God had created him, to be an apostle of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The gift that Nathanael was given, not only allowed him to realize who he really was, but also, to recognize who Jesus really was, for he said to our Lord, Rabbi, You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel! The implications here are tremendous, for it tells me that I can never fully know who Jesus is, until I know who I really am in the Lord. For a double-minded, two spirited counterfeit person, can never comprehend or understand who the real Creator is. How did Nathanael get rid of deceit? James 4:7-10 “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.” When Nathanael was under the fig tree that represented Israel, he as an Israelite, probably realized how many generational curses had been handed down to him that were caused by the disobedience and idolatry of his ancestors. Right there he had to make a decision, was he going to be an idolater like them, or renounce their evil practices and align himself with the God that created him to be a servant of the high calling of God? Once he submitted himself to the high calling of God, a spiritual resistance to the lies of the devil arose from within him that allowed him to forsake the forgery of himself that the devil had fashioned after his idolatrous ancestry. By refusing to accept the devil’s plan for his life, he drew near to God and God’s plan for his life. What followed had to be a cleansing prayer of true repentance, like in: 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Then he had to do something to purify his heart, that is to rid it of the perverted sprit that was a forgery of who he really was and was pretending to be the real him. How did he do that? James 1:6 “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind (spiritual fake).” He believed! The human soul was created in the image of God, it cannot be made to conform to the animalistic instincts of the flesh, for our souls were not created out of dirt, but came directly out of the Spirit of God, after God breezed into Adam’s nostrils, Adam became a living soul. If we believe the lies of evolution and other demonic doctrines, whose aim is nothing more than to devalued the integrity of our souls and profane it as worthless, then a lie about who we really are is accepted, and that two spirited nature will hinder us from fulfilling the purpose for which God created us, which is to be spiritually minded creatures that exercise God’s dominion over this earthly plane. It takes a humbled heart to recognize our true condition, if we are willing to admit it, all of us fail God somehow, somewhere, sometime. Let me ask you this very personal question: Do you identify with the sin that you fall into after you fail God by sinning? When you lie do you believe that you are a liar? Your answer here is very important, for it will reveal to you which personality you are operation under, since you are a Christian and know that it is wrong to lie. Romans 7:20 “Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.” Listen to the words of Paul, and how he separates the sin from the sinner when he says that, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. If you are a Christian and believe that your sins make you a sinner, let’s say that you’ve lied so therefore you see yourself as a liar, then you are identifying with the duplicate you, and not the real you. For the believer should identify with the real self that says, it is not I that lied but the sin that dwells in me, which by the way, in this case would be a lying spirit. You may say, what’s the difference? If you believe that you are a Christian and that your are also a liar, then you condemn yourself, and in the same act, you accept a perverted version of yourself that God did not create, for your soul was created by the Spirit of Truth to abide in the Truth. If you as a Christian recognize that you’ve lie, but do not see yourself as a liar, but rather as a person that needs to be delivered from a lying spirit, then you are identifying with your real self, and in the same act, you are asking for deliverance from an act that you do not want to do anymore. In the New Testament, the definition for sin is to miss the mark, which clearly implies the absence of an action, rather that the commission of a lawless act. If we are Christians, all of our sins, past, present, and future, were paid for in full by the work that Jesus wrought for us on the cross, that makes us a new creation in Christ Jesus, we have no grounds to identify ourselves with the old nature anymore. So that when we sin in accordance with our old nature, is because we are failing to take advantage of the deliverance that is already ours through the atoning power of the blood of Jesus, that is how we sin, we simply miss the mark. And it usually has to do with us identifying ourselves with the phony duplicate that the devil has been fashioning for us all our lives. Truth originates with God, lies originate with the devil, we ought not to identify ourselves with any of the devil’s lies, but with every Word of Truth that proceeds out of the mouth of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21, 6:1 “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 6:1 We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive (miss the mark) the grace of God in vain.” Identify the strongholds in your life that cause you to sin, and target them for extinction. Do not see yourself as the person that the devil accuses you of being, but become the righteousness of God in Jesus through faith, that is who the real you is, and is already within you, do not miss the mark by accepting failure in your life. Do not give up! Remember that some of your victories are future victories, for the Lord will always allow you to stay sharp by the battles that you are presently fighting. And in some instances you will be left to trust the fact that His grace is sufficient for you, for His strength is made perfect in your weaknesses. Follow the prayer model that James chapter four showed us for the purification of our souls, evict that counterfeit failure that the devil has made of you, and totally put your trust in God’s great and precious promises that are Yes and Amen. Here is a prayer that will help you get started: PRAYER (pray this out loud) Our Father who are in heaven, creator of heaven and earth, God the judge of all; in the name of Jesus your only Son I enter into Your heavenly court and publicly repent of all of my sins, and I ask for Your forgiveness in the Name of Jesus. Apply dear Lord I pray, the atoning blood of Jesus over all the sins in my life and the sins in my ancestor’s life that resulted in a curse. I repent of all of our disobediences and rebellions committed against Your Word. I now repent from and I renounce all the sins in my life and my ancestor’s life such as the sins of perversion, lust, cheating, lying, adultery, fornication, mistreatment of others, uncleanness, filthiness, wantonness, lewdness, and every perverted thing that was connected to our fallen nature. I now repent from and I renounce all the sins in my life and my ancestor’s life such as the sins of false religion, cults, reading of horoscopes, idolatry, witchcraft, divination, all occult involvements, seditions, heresies, sorcery, dissentions, and every demonic thing that was connected to our fallen nature. I now repent from and I renounce all the sins in my life and my ancestor’s life such as the sins of indecision, compromise, hatred, contentions, envy, gossip, murder, hostility towards others, hostilities towards my self, ill will towards others, ill will towards my self, and every divisive thing that was connected to our fallen nature. I now repent from and I renounce all the sins in my life and my ancestor’s life such as the sins of malfunction, failures, laziness, lack of responsibility, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, drunkenness, intoxication, addictions, dependencies, and every compromising thing that was connected to our fallen nature. According to 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Now that I’ve confessed all my sins, I ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing from all my unrighteousness and the unrighteousness passed to me through the iniquity of all my ancestor’s. Deliver me Lord and cleanse me by the power of the blood of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I now take authority over the devil’s accusations against me. In accordance with the Word of God, I break and condemn any and every curse upon my life in the name of Jesus. I break all curses of poverty, lack, debt, destruction, sickness, death and vagabond. I break all curses on my marriage, family, children, and relationships. I break curses of rejection, pride, rebellion, lust, hurt, incest, rape, Ahab, Jezebel, fear, insanity, madness, and confusion. In the Name that is above every name, the Name of Jesus, I now break all curses affecting my finances, my mind, my sexual character, my emotions, my will, my intellect, and all my relationships. In the Name of Jesus I now break every hex, jinx, spell, and spoken curse over my life and my family’s life. I break every fetter, shackle, chain, cord, habit, and cycle that is the result of a curse. According to Galatians 3:13 I have been redeemed from the curse of the law by the sacrifice that Jesus offered on my behalf. Father in heaven I now exercise my faith in the blood that Jesus offered for my redemption, and I loose myself and my descendants from any and every curse. I claim forgiveness through the blood that Jesus offered for my sins and the sins of my fathers. All of my sins have been forgiven, so I now renounce all the works of Satan and their effect over my life, and my family’s lives, and I loose myself from every curse that came as a result of our disobedience and rebellion to the Word of God. I exercise my faith now in the Word of God: Romans 10:9-10, and I make confession with my mouth of the salvation, deliverance, healing and restoration that I believe in my heart is now mine, because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Therefore I confess that Abraham’s blessings are mine. I confess that I am blessed and not curse. I confess that I am the head and not the tail. I confess that I am above and not beneath. I confess that I am blessed coming in and going out. I confess that I am blessed by God, and what God has blessed cannot be curse. In the Name of Jesus and by the power of His shed blood, I now command spirits of Rejection, Hurt, Bitterness, Unforgiveness, Bondage, Torment, Death, Destruction, Suicide, Fear, Lust, Perversion, Mind Control, Witchcraft, Poverty, Lack, Debt, Confusion, Double-mindedness, Sickness, Infirmity, Pain, Divorce, Separation, Strife, Contention, Depression, Sadness, Loneliness, Self-Pity, Self-Destruction, Self-Rejection, Anger, Rage, Wrath, Anguish, Vagabond, Abuse, Addiction, Insanity and the rest to COME OUT NOW in the Name of Jesus my Deliverer, and be forever gone, because all of your rights to torment me and my family have now been removed. Dear Father in Heaven, in the Name of Jesus Your only begotten Son, I now thank you for setting me and making me free from every curse and from every unclean spirit that had operated in my life as a result of curses. Thank You Jesus! Amen. Previous Next Home
